The walking path was really nice but the areas for the animals were not great. Especially where the birds were inside in small enclosures.

Nice walking areas, and lots of playground equipment. Animals are not cared for well. In dirty cages or fences. Areas are much too small for the animals. No grazing for the bigger animals. Birds in tiny cages with nothing in them. I was very sad for all those poor animals. They seem very neglected.

Beautiful trail to walk... Animals and a decent size playground for kids... And it's all free!!! The trail was peaceful... We even got to pet a zebra!

The coolest small town park I've ever been too! It has a nice little playground, trails to walk on, and a mini zoo. The zoo has animals like ducks, mini donkeys, emus, goats and even bison! A really neat attraction in such a quaint little town.

The zoo was kind of sad but the bog trail was great. Boardwalk and cement walkways that are handicap accessible.

I found this place when looking online for something to do with the kids on a weekend, and it looked really cute. We packed up and made it a little day trip - drove nearly 2 hours to get there. Google and the linked website said it was open on Sundays until 8pm. We arrived around 12:30pm, and the roads were flooded, so it was closed. What a disappointment! We checked every site we could think of online and tried calling (recorded message said our call could not be answered and we couldn't leave a message, so try again later). There was zero indication anywhere that this place was flooded and closed. And apparently everything else in the area is closed on Sundays because we couldn't find a restaurant other than fast food and the one breakfast/lunch place in town that was open and so packed we didn't even bother trying to go inside. 4 hours in the car with 3 kids (including a toddler) for nothing. Communication is clearly severely lacking here. Major disappointment for 2 moms, a grandmother, and 3 kids. I don't even have any tips for others - I have NO idea how to even find out if this place is open or not before you get there.

The animals were not well kept at ALL. I went with two other people and the animals were dirty and several were limping for reasons unknown (one of the llamas and several goats). The enclosures were way too small for the amount of animals and they were dirty and bare of any grazing area, which is especially important for farm animals, bison, and zebra. The “aviary” was just a bunch of birds thrown in bare cages, screaming at whoever walked by. Several also looked malnourished and unhealthy, with their feathers disheveled and dirty. I will NEVER come here again and would NEVER recommend anyone to go. Just because it’s out of season does NOT mean the animals shouldn’t be taken care of!

This is the cutest zoo ever. There are random unexpected animals here like a zebra, some llamas, and buffaloes. You can also find more "normal" animals like chickens, pigs, goats, etc. Its small and never crowded so you dont feel rushed and are able to get close to the animals and truely appreciate them. Defintely a little gem in a small town.

Delightful small surprise in a small town. We stopped on a Sunday. The animals included a bison, goats, llamas, pheasants and miniature horses. I also walked through the Swamp causeway. Lots of places for kids to play.

My grandparents used to live in the nearby city of Ahoskie and they would take me here everyday as a kid. I have no bad memories in the Ahoskie/Windsor area. Fantastic place to have and create happy memories you'll never forget. Only negative I have is there's no concussion stand but this can be easily remedied by bringing in packed lunches and drinks or by stopping at Bojangles or Burger King immediately down the street; though I do suggest still bringing your own drinks just in case.

I just love going to this little place in the middle of nowhere. The animals are always well cared for and the areas where they live are always well maintained. I absolutely love the nature walk they made through the swamp! Very peaceful!

Has a nice kiddie park right with little zoo . It's very clean nice place. To have a family outlying There's a nice river walk right across from the zoo. If down around Windsor it's worth taking a look.

My family and I had a wonderful time here and it’s free! Love the nature walk and seeing all the animals especially the zebra. The only thing I didn’t like was that the animals only food appeared to be water. The enclosures were dirt with water buckets.

Funny how my previous review was deleted. I went to this park maybe 2 months ago. As me and a friend were walking around we noticed a baby goat outside of its enclosure trying desperately to get to his mom, we let the guy who was suppose to take care of the animals know and he didn't care, I ended up catching the baby goat and putting it back in its enclosure. After that we went to get visit the zebra and on our way back a large goat was out of his enclosure and ran right towards me and my friend, my friend was ready to hop the fence and I was ready to climb a tree, he ran right thru us luckily. Personally I'm not sure I would bring kids to a zoo where they don't care about the well being of thier animals or of their visitors.

Small park with swings and such for the kids. Different animals to view: a zebra, emu, goats, chickens, peacocks, guineas,pigeons, llamas to name a few. Grounds kept clean, nature walk through the woods is nice.
