No staff there to greet any of the visitors, we arrived with a few others at the same time. We all had no idea where we were allowed to go or where to give money for the pumpkins. The girls there riding the horses seemed annoyed AF that we asked a simple question when approaching the horses in the barn. Idk who worked there or who was just visiting but the whole atmosphere seemed very unwelcoming. Disappointing since we drove out from the North Shore. We all left like ????‍♀️ okay then...

Their Kids Farm Club is AMAZING including their teacher Johnny! My child loves going there and his little sister enjoys hanging out there after we drop him off too. Staff is really friendly as well. 5 stars all the way for them!

Super rad and chill

Fun and educational for the kids. I come here often when the kids were young. My youngest who started preschool had a field trip here and I forgot how awesome it was. There’s a pile of awesomeness at the entrance as well! The pigs moved to Richmond, was looking forward seeing them.

100% recommend! When I'm not busy picking up participants, I like to help maintain the pumpkin patch

So glad to have something like this right in the city. If you have young kids, bring them here. The animals appear to be well taken care of and the people seem genuinely focussed on conservation and animal welfare.

(Translated) Magical place, where it feels like the countryside when we are in Vancouver itself! Horses, chickens and goats will delight your children! And best of all, there is a hunt, not for treasure, but for pumpkin! The volunteers are adorable and are always looking for volunteers! In short, I can only recommend this place!

I came here with my family as i lost in this area then i kept asking about honey farm or horse farm then finally somebody told us about the southlands, we been admitted at 6 pm and actually we bought many cans of their honey which was delicious and tastey, then one nice lady (bees lady) suggested to watch her as she was changing the honeycomb then she gave us a nice information about horses and a chance to pet them, my two daughters loved everything and planning to register in their summer camp and other programs, thanks to the friendly family

Good selection of pumpkins. They were quick to refill the pumpkins after people pick them up. In summary, it's just like a farm for people to pick pumpkins on the table or by the fence - not a pumpkin patch. It was pretty crowded - lots of kids. No mask restrictions and social distancing. The pumpkin washing station - was a bit disgusting. I was expecting a water hose to rinse my pumpkin. But it was actually just a container with water for people to wash the pumpkin - it doesn't get replaced with every wash. Thus, I would totally recommend just washing the pumpkin at home. But in general can't complain much for $8 entrance fee.

Very cute and quaint but not many pumpkins to choose from. Not many animals to see. It is very small and cramped with a ton of people trying to get past each other. There is not much for kids to do .. No crafts or games. But it was quiet and relaxing ... I would go back if I didn’t have children possibly?

Been there a few times now, for a birthday party, twice now for there pumpkin patch and a couple times just cause. My two year old loves it, there a piano he loves to play on. The people who work there are friendly. One time I went a employee handed me a chicken to hold it was awesome. Love it here. We go time and time again.

It's a small farm but very cute, and I love the area that they have for parties. Would definitely be fun for kids!

It's ok. It is mostly a place for horse riding lessons with a farm-ish wrapped around. Smaller than expected and no actual pumpkin patch to speak of. Pumpkins were just scattered about. The chickens and ducks are tucked away in a somewhat …

Wow, right in Vancouver is this amazing place with horses, goats, chickens, a dog, cat, lots of vegetation, kids, and - to sum it up, pure joy. Thank you to the Maynards for the love they show these animals (the family is vegan) and for spreading the joy so generously to the public.

A lovely small farm, if you have children they can enjoy it a lot. The pumpkin patch is more of a decorative set than a patch. Children can ride ponies and enjoy the environment.

Loved my first experience of riding a horse thanks to my instructor Ainsley and my friendly, lovely horse - Daffodil. Ainsley was incredibly knowledgeable and professional. She coached me at every step of the process with valuable information. I also liked the proximity to transit. The only challenge is booking an appointment in advance since the place is busy. Nevertheless could finally make a childhood dream come today and I'm definitely coming back since horses are amazing!

What a wonderful place to be! The horses were a beauty to state at, and the chickens were such fun to be around and even the goats were in good spirits. Perfect for kids and adults alike, this environment creates for a very earthy and home like stay, you will not regret enjoying the gardens and trees with the animals just nearby. I love this place :)

Went with a kid's group. I had a good time overall. It was a little rainy the day before so some parts were quite muddy, including the parking area. Parking is on the street mostly. The place has a pleasant atmosphere and nice that a place like this is so close to the city. Fun for people that like being outside and don't mind getting a little dirty, especially if it's been rainy. Got to feed a horse, pick carrots from the ground, try fresh herbs, fresh honey from the comb, look at a bunch of farm animals. There's a video on youtube and on their website that shows what the place looks like.

Jackie W

Not that many animals, especially in the fall and winter. Family run farm accessible by public transit then walking. Admission is free but you can donate if you want. Animals include a few horses, chicken, sheep. I think there used to be a donkey? You can also get riding lessons here.

Ariel Rose

Beautiful sanctuary in the middle of the city. However horses should never be forced to live their entire lives in stalls. This is extremely sad. Please encourage or help to find pasture and places for horses, all horses and theses horses too experience what their meant to, earth, grass, trees, water, sky. I know the people who do this care but do not understand.

Robert Michael Aston

Cute little farm friendly people and of course cute animals!

Laura Irwin

Small farm with friendly goats, horses, chickens, and owners. Call early to get eggs!

Kirk Robinson

A small farm that is mostly catering to the horse crowd, but if pumpkins are your thing there's a decent selection here. This ain't no pumpkin patch -- all of the pumpkins are pre-picked and sitting on fences, benches, or alongside walking paths among apple trees. Pretty relaxed atmosphere, particularly nice on a sunny day. There's a small covered section filled with hay for kids to jump around and play in, pony rides for hire. A nice alternative to the zoo-like scene of the Richmond Country Farm or the big ones in Abbotsford, etc.

Peter McDonagh

It's a very cute place with a lot of potential. The staff seem a little confused when it comes to helping people. They are very friendly though.

We went there during pumpkin season. There weren't many pumpkins to choose from. We found a much better selection in their retail nursery down the street. There also weren't very many animals. My 3 year asked to go home after 15 minutes. The staff are super nice, though!

Each kid spent 20 dollars (Altogether about 20 kids) when all families read the advertisement about their horse riding experience program. The poor kids had been just watching the coach teaching several pupils until they were too cold to leave.

Beautiful, friendly and relaxed. Animals are the highlight for kids.

My daughter had her 6th birthday party here. She had a blast! The tour was great and she got to groom a pony. All the kids took turns for a pony ride. There are many other interesting things to see on the farm so after the cake the kids explored on their own. It's a lot of fun for kids and adults!

Not much to do. The entry is fairly cheap and comes with a pumpkin with is definitely nice. It is small with a couple of small pathways to walk around and some horses to feed and touch. Other than that, it’s not much and all the pumpkins are the same size with no variety.

Very family friendly, sell nice fresh eggs, both chicken and duck eggs, Plus lots of coming activities for the children. If you have children you must go here free to enter. Enjoy the horses and the general aspect of the farm. I do believe they give horse riding lessons, in the ring.If you are so inclined I do believe that they would accept donations. They don't ask for them but by my observation they need them.

22 school horses, 5 instructors, an Olympic Coach plus, sheep, chickens, goats, a play area with tire swing and a huge Daffodil orchard. In October thousands of pumpkins available

It is a little bit of nature nestled in Vancouver. Everyone there was passionate about the animals. The horses were groomed and the pens were clean. The chickens let you pet them, the dog wants you to play fetch with him. It reminded me of my younger days growing up on a farm.

No one to welcome us unfortunately

C&A Inc.

Brought my daughter here to purchase a pumpkin. Also purchased a pony ride for $42 As expected, we were directed to sign a disclaimer contract - which was fine. The contract did not indicate any policies regarding refunds. My daughter was horrified at the pony ride so we decided not to start it. The riding supervisor suggested for us to request a refund. Refund was not hononored and we were told by the owner, “Sorry, no refunds. That’s our policy and we can’t chang the rules for one girl.” Instead, we were turned away with an extra pumpkin on the house. The staff needs to get on the same page. Happy Thanksgiving I tried to give this zero stars.

Terrible experience. Nothing setup. Barely anything to see. Staff there there was rude and aggressive. Feels like you're always in the way. They just want money from the families who visits the "farm" (it's not a farm) but don't actually want them there.

Hidden Farm on Marine Drive. Entry is usually by donation they have many horses, chickens, goats and a garden. I had great experiences with the staff there and they were very eager to educate about the animals. During October they also have pumpkin picking for $5 a pumpkin

One worker was very rude to me as I was leaving the farm with my toddler. I was obviously struggling to pick her up and get her out the gate and out of the way of someone coming with a horse. The employee yelled “didn’t you hear me say I’m coming” (I didn’t), I said “I’m so sorry I’m trying to get out” she replied “not hard enough” and continued to walk the horse aggressively toward me and my two year old. Super unprofessional. Will not return. Not a great place for kids.

This place is super fun. Horse riding, farm camp and farmers market. Programs have variable levels of organizational quality, but it is the only place in Vancouver.

Raha Pidkowich

Went here in august of 2019 for horseback-riding camp and it was ok. We cleaned the horse and rode on it. But the we were steered and when we just sat on the horse. Go somewhere else before going here.

This farm locates in Dunbar-Southlands area. It's a very small farm. Kids can go there for the pony rides. Support your local farm! BTW, you may take a pumpkin home before you leave the farm.

ivan Calingasan

Its a scam! Paid for 3 people for 8$ each promised with a pumpkin to be picked inside. No pumpkins! Most are eaten up by squirrels. If the place is already being plagued with gray squirrels, they shouldn't have opened in the first place, charging people 8$ per entry.

If you're coming to the farm specifically for the pumpkin patch experience I would say perhaps choose elsewhere. As another reviewer mentioned, for $8 per person entry there is not much of a "pumpkin patch" to speak of. Most pumpkins left …

A wonderful place to spend an hour or two in the sunshine. I can imagine feeding the chickens or petting the goats would be fun for children, and the staff all seemed friendly. There's no one necessarily waiting there for you and you are pretty much free to have a wander around on your own which nice - just don't expect a bigger farm like Maplewood Farm, or expect to spend more than an hour here.

Michael Vogel

Riding lessons for any age and any ability - the teachers are first class and will tailor the lessons for maximum enjoyment and just the right amount of challenge. It's a warm family feeling that makes Southlands a great place to learn how to ridy.

Experience was amazing! Some workers seemed a little on edge but I was greeted by a very nice staff member named Harry who was such a gentlemen, he helped me find where I needed to go and even helped carry my stuff. My expectations were blown through the roof! Thanks Harry!

We went for the pumpkins. It was definitely a nice place - an orchard setting, which was a good change from the plain large fields of other pumpkin patches. But it was very small and quite crowded. It took us only 5 minutes to walk around the place, and it was difficult to see the animals because it was so crowded. Looked good in pictures (and for pictures), but I wouldn't go again.
