As of day this firm has a rating of 4.4 over 5 and the rating is based on 127 reviews.
As you can read, its rating is really high, and it's based on a very high number of scores, so we may think that the valuation is quite accurate. If people have bothered to give their opinion when they've done well with the business, is that it works.
As you know, we don't usually stop to give tatings when they are correct and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or issue...
This Zoo belongs to the category of Zoo.
A true gem for the Fargo/Moorhead/West Fargo community. The grounds are beautiful and the animal collection is diverse.
Pretty underwhelming, I was excited to go since this is the biggest city in ND and I thought perhaps their zoo would be cool but it was pretty bland and tiny. Definitely a zoo more for lil kids and not 20 year olds lol
Small enough to visit with our young grandchildren, but enough variety of animals to satisfy them.
Small Zoo, not well kept. Needs investors to help with the upkeep and care.
We had a great time not a lot in the terms of exhibits and quite a few are boring but the cool ones are absolutely awesome Pandas, Foxes, Wolves, Otters
A small zoo, but definitely worth checking out in this time of high stress!
Brought my 6 and 2 year old there they loved every minute of it very clean animals seem happy
Fun activities for children and lots of animals to see. Great family activity!
Very clean, interesting exhibits. Just a bit pricey for the size of zoo
Totally amazing zoo, they threw a surprise anniversary party for my parents who frequent the zoo often and my dad volunteers there, and my 2 month old son got to experience his first close-up animal encounter with a red panda!!
Weekday
50$ for this its small and doesn't really have anything interesting
Enjoyed a day with my family, and took some pictures of the beautiful animals, so cute!
First boo at the zoo and it was fantastic. We all had a blast.
Wait time
Awesome family place! We come here at least once per month. They always have staff to educate us in the animals and the care provided. The year pass is the way to go, come often and enjoy the exhibits.
It was ok no crazy cool animals but a fun place to bring the family no tigers penguins or bears but some other cool stuff it offers.
A small nice zoo with lots of educational opportunities for the children!
Staff is always friendly and knowledgeable. The natural settings are a nice change of pace. It is really interesting to know that they only have animals (other than the reptiles) that can handle the winter without too much help... hence the large number of animals from northern China and Mongolia like the Bactrian Camels :)
Excellent zoo for it's size. It is still growing and is in a city that deserves a larger zoo. It should just get better over time. We went with family of all ages and everyone enjoyed it.
It is a small zoo, the the price is very reasonable (at least compared to any big city zoo) and it is fairly well curated. Two hours here is plenty of time to see it all.
Really enjoyed it, nice zoo for its size.
Love this place, full of childhood memories! GO IN THE WINTER! I’m winter the animals are awake and active! Great animals, employees, and place. Please go!
Awesome place to see animals and birds in Fargo. Well maintained
Small but nice! I enjoyed the exhibits! Spent about 2 hours walking (its small, but I like to actually watch the behavior of the animals). Definitly a place to check out!
We had a wonderful time at this zoo. It was much larger than we expected! There was a very large variety of animals, a carousel and a playground. The sloth was just one of our favorites. I highly recommend visiting this zoo. You wont be disappointed.
Love it! My kids always have a blast and it's small enough to be manageable.
It's a zoo. It's not the greatest zoo, but it's the only one we've got.
Really nice small zoo. The red pandas are my favorite. I am a member and the membership is definitely worth it.
It was a fun place to bring the kids with a lot of places to escape the heat. staff was friendly and told the kids all about the animals they were looking at
Very pleasant zoo. It's a good place to take a family trip to go see while in Fargo but isn't something that would be worth traveling to Fargo just to see. I hope they continue growing and improving the place.
What this place lacks for animals and size it makes up in care. Doesn't matter the time of day you will always see people feeding, cleaning cages, maintaining the grounds, walking animals etc.
Fun for the whole family! Loved the interactive parts and the playgrounds????
With covid it had been a good year since we visited. We fell in love with the alpacas!!! The goats and Cows are always a treat to feed. And you always have to ride the carousel!!!
Small zoo that does a lot with little. Events are always well done. <3 Friendly staff and animals well cared for. Gift shop has a great selection. Carousel is simply beautiful and I'm so glad they take such good care of it. Snacks are delicious. I hope to see it get BIGGER in the future, but I do adore what they've done with the space they have. <3
Such a fun zoo, plenty of animals and everything was close enough to see. We had a lot of fun and will defiantly come back.
$6–10
No wait
The petting zoo is only open half the time, and there is nothing to see in the new veterinary exhibit. The bird exhibit is closed to the visiting body.
Soooo fun! What a variety of animals! I was able to see an Eagles nest up close. So cool!
Had fun at the zoo with Logan first time there
As a child I was involved in an otter-related industrial accident. As a result of this incident, I have an inexplicable mental connection with all semi-aquatic mammals: ie otters, beavers, muskrats, platipie. The otters at this zoo and many others have incessantly expressed to me their want for a slide without rocks blocking the way so they can slide down it in a cute and playful manner. The pack at this facility value this item above all others and will not rest until this project is brought to fruition. As for funding, a donation box near the viewing windows was proposed by the self-proclaimed leader who calls himself “Skidmark” and seconded by “Bitey” and “Slippery Pete.”
Excellent selection from around the world. We love the interactive exhibits and the informative talks!
Animals are close up so you can really see them. Small so though
I like this zoo. It's not super big but is still pretty good. The animals are nice here. And we also got a little "behind the scenes" tour. We got to see the kitchen and some other places. So that was pretty cool. I think this is a pretty good zoo to walk around and see all the animals.
It is small would not go back it was not as much fun as u would think
Small zoo and enjoyed the time there. Nice exhibits and definitely kid friendly. Covered Carousel in center of zoo.
For the price you can't go wrong. Great little zoo. My kids love this place. There isn't a huge collection of animals but you can get close to the enclosures and the wolves are worth the price alone. They are doing a great job considering the pandemic. The gift shop is a great place to get a souvenir you can't find anywhere else in town.
Peaceful, well kept, healthy zoo animals, staff is very kind and knowledgeable . We especially like the trees that have grown up around to keep it shaded
We were most impressed with the meticulous upkeep. Fargo should be very proud of its little Zoo. When I get old I want to work there.
I was very disappointed in my experience at the zoo. After $40 in gas and $20 for tickets, I got to see animals that are normally found in North Dakota??? This was such a letdown. I thought OK well at least they have the red panda.... But even they were hiding.. Also some of the animals were very thirsty, it was hot... and their water dishes were empty.
Being that Fargo is such a big city I thought the zoo would be a lot bigger and have a lot more animals, more variety. I was expecting to see some bears, some tigers and a few other animals you would normally see at a zoo. The whole adventure from start to finish didn't take nearly as long as I thought it would and I was surprised to learn we had reached the end so soon. This zoo has nothing spectacular. Having driven an hour and a half each way, I was definitely disappointed. Also there were no snack places open and the souvenir prices were a bit high.
My kids have a blast here every time. If you live in the area, the annual option is well worth it.
Loved looking at all the animals. We didn't realize the zoo closed at 5pm on Sunday and showed up at 4pm and still had to pay full price to get in. Great place to take kids!
Nice for a small zoo.

Nice zoo. They were helpful with a special group event.
Love the zoo! Such a fun, relaxing family space. I wish the city would have passed that building plan a couple years ago to expand the zoo and add restaurants and everything to the zoo but they didn't pass that. Stupid people. They wouldn't add a .5% sales tax to build it which would have greatly helped our city and brought much tourism to city. Regardless I love the zoo. Such a pretty place they've made it. They should expand it to the other side of the bridge!
A fun little zoo to spend a few hours. The kids loved seeing the animals and walking around. Nice little petting/feeding zoo towards the back.
Nice walk. Beautiful animals
This was an unexpected stop for us and I'm so glad we did stop! There were endless things to see. The buildings were fun to look in and see the history of his people use to live. Tiny houses for large families all the way to 'mansions' with many rooms and luxuries. The tractors were a hit for my son and my bigger kids loved the telephone museum. They said, "the phones really worked! You could dial the phones and actually make phone calls (to the other phones in the museum)!" We went on a week day so there was almost no one else there. Perfect! But it looked like it was set up for fun events and gatherings. Definitely recommend. Family friendly and full of fun.
Small zoo but well laid out. And a few animals you might not see at larger zoos. Very glad they were open this season.

Small, but, fun zoo. With interesting animals and stories to go with them. Very friendly employees.
Small zoo, but extremely clean. Animals obviously happy, healthy and well cared for. Staff was friendly, helpful and informed.
Small, overpriced, and quite depressing.... The animals are kept in FAR TOO SMALL of enclosures. The animals are lethargic and seem to be unhealthy.
Nice small zoo offering many local animals such as horses, wolves, and birds, as well as other animals such as camels, sloths, red pandas and more. Plus it has a working carousel!
Lots of shade, some rare species, social distancing
Weekend
Pretty lame I was the only person there at the time not much to see
We are from out of town. This zoo has improved a lot since I live in Fargo, almost 15 years ago. There are a lot of animals to see. The staff was friendly, helpful, and informative. We hosted my daughter's birthday party here. Since we were from out of town, we weren't going to be able to get a cake, reschedule for another day, or anything. They took care of the cake, location, preparation, clean up, everything. We enjoyed our time at the zoo. The price was really reasonable too!
Reservation recommended
The layout is great. The wildlife was active and lively. Beautiful scenery. Fall colors were amazing. I especially loved the Wolf habitat.
Price for adult entry
Wonderful zoo! Clean, well maintained and reasonably priced.
We had read an article recently about a little red panda escape artist, so my husband and I had to go see for ourselves. We had a wonderful time and I'm always so happy to see the conservation effort and the attempt to raise awareness and give out information. Definitely a place I recommend donating to!
Small but very nice. Lots of neat animals and you are ably to feed some of them and touch the alpacas and goats!
Kind of small for the $12 entry fee. It was still a nice zoo and most animals were out and visible. it was a short walk from the Petro we parked at and a great couple hour outing!
My favorite small zoo. Small but all of the residents seem happy and well cared for. The wolf pack is not to be missed.
Very nice staff but not much to see.
Beautiful place, but the wolfs was so skinny and the amazing horse was dirty. Thank you
It was ok no crazy cool animals but a fun place to bring the family no tigers penguins or bears but some other cool stuff it offers.
We were pleasantly surprised at how much fun the zoo was for winter time!
It's not bad and you can enjoy a couple hours here. There's not a ton of exotic animals or anything. The place is well kept as far as cleanliness goes and the staff seem nice. Everything else is great. The membership can be used at many other zoos to get in for free or a discount. Prices are $7.75 for children 2-14, $9.75 for adults, $8.75 for seniors (60+), and carousel rides are $2.00. A basic single person membership is 45$ and a basic family membership is $65.
We loved the Christmas lights, and visiting at night made a whole different experience!
I spend such a great time in there, unfortunately I didn't get to see the red panda witch it was my main reason for going, they are many other cute animals to interact with. The facility is super clean, and i definitely recommend this place for the whole family.
It's small but homey. The staff is friendly and so are many of the animals. It's a good starter zoo for really little ones. The Merry go round is sweet and fun.
Ok zoo crowed with people better option is trowbridge creek zoo
Great place to bring your children for a couple of hours and it is fun for the adults too.
Wonderful zoo. Not the biggest but great experience. Perfect size for an afternoon visit
Great little place to enjoy. Fun staff and well cared for animals!
Yes
A small but nice zoo to go to
We went on a cool day but their was still a lot to see. It was a school field trip.
What a wonderful small zoo! I had no idea Fargo had some of the best/most successful breeding programs for some rare beasts! Quite impressive, and yet cozy - in a very good way. A small zoo to make us very proud.
Always a good time! The animals are well cared for and the displays are always clean.
Boring and overpriced. Only thing my grandchildren really liked was the merry go round.
the weather was wonderful, the animals were excited to see us and we all had a great day.
This a wonderful place to go for Holiday Lights! My 8yr old and I visited for the first time. We had great time!
Excellent little zoo, great for families and small children. There are a couple different playgrounds and a carousel inside a pavilion that is air conditioned. We received a membership as a gift for my son's first birthday and try to visit once a week as something fun to do. It generally takes us about an hour to walk through, stop and look at all the animals with the stroller, without stopping to do any activities or read the signage. Take a few quarters if you'd like to feed the alpacas, sheep & goats. The first time we went I noticed how happy the wolves seemed to be and that they loved the zookeeper and ran right up to her, tails wagging, just acting like dogs and playing with each other. I've been to other "rescues" where the animals were unhappy and in small enclosures, pacing around anxiously. There is plenty of parking and even on busier days, it has never been what I would consider crowded.
Lots of fun kids loved it
Love this zoo! Also don’t be afraid to tell them your ideas, I scored some free passes close to easter just because they liked my Easter idea using zoo passes!
Small local zoo. Good place for kids. Clean well maintained.
We have gone every year since the Red River Zoo has opened. There is something new/ added each year. It’s great to watch places grow!
The red river zoo is a stop you should make if your traveling with kids. There has been some updating and new exhibits added this year. We always love stopping
Great little zoo with some endangered animals and information about why they are threatened or endangered and how the zoo is helping.
A wide range of beautiful animals. Friendly knowledgeable staff that helps teach you and the kids all about the animals. Wide open paths and plenty of picture perfect areas.
Fun afternoon with active animals in today's cool weather.
Pretty expensive and not many animals. The shaded walk is nice though.
It was a pleasant experience. It didn't compare to Minot or Bismarck zoo's. Maybe over time it will get better.
It may not be the best zoo in the region, but if you don't want to leave town, this is it. This does not mean that it is bad at all, but if you have time to drive, Chahinkapa Zoo is where you want to go for the full zoo experience.
This is a small zoo which is very well set out. This is the 2nd time we have visited and we will visit again very soon.
Attended a Bday party there. It was great. Pizza, cake, carousel rides and a presentation from a zoologist with a couple small animals. Enjoyed every minute. After the party we toured the zoo.
This is a very nicely-kept zoo. It is very small, but quaint. If you plan to go a few times, the family membership might be worthwhile. They host many fun events and activities for kids and families, sometimes even free. They are open in the winter, too.
Great Zoo for a visit back to my hometown area. Keep it up Fargo!
Very nice place. A lot to see with nice looking grounds. Wolves, camels, red panda, lots to see.
I love the Red River Zoo. They have lots of activities happening all the time, both family friendly and more adult events. The zoo is always clean and it is clear that the animals are well taken care of. The carousel and park are perfect for burning off energy for kids. My only complaint is that it is not big enough! Being a newer zoo, though, it takes time for that to happen and they are really good at continually adding and expanding. I highly recommend!
It's a great little zoo, with plenty of animals for my family to enjoy. Of course, no trip would be complete without the carousel or a picture with the tiger-bison statue out front.
Kinda funny location, but great animals. Some are basically never there. Overall good small zoo. Awesome nursing mother's room.
Only have driven by. More parking spaces than animals I've heard!
Fun small zoo! Good viewing of the animals
It's a nice small zoo, it just needs some TLC
Great place to visit. Amazing for kids.
I had my wedding here and there were very helpful and nice the whole time.
Cute little day date location.. small and quiet ????.. target ???? for a younger audience if u bring the littles with you ????
Wait time
There's tons of stuff to do here aside from the animals. Two playgrounds, a carousel, concessions, small gardens to walk through. The habitats are great and kept up with. The whole zoo is very clean! Definitely recommend!

I love taking a stroll through the zoo it's always so peaceful, we love the otters and my ten month old loves the farm animals.
Expensive for non members..they charge even little kids. Lacks a alot of animals. Not that exciting place to go.
It was a wonderful place for bring your family and have some good time.
Worth the stop. Animal displays were clean and well laid out.
Awesome place to visit.. plenty of good animals & everyones so nice! Pokemon Go: 2 gyms, like 6 pokestops & plenty of pokemon spawns
For a zoo...in Fargo...not bad. They obviously have a terrible location for expansion but what can you do. We're members. Everyone should be members.
Our zoo in Fargo is great. Sally is doing a great job having her employees sanitize n the setup is great. You follow the paw prints around so everyone is social distancing.
Our experience was not up to standards for the price of admission. We had a fun time with our grandkids but for the animals they could see we could have sat in our backyard. Over all I probably will make the trip to any other zoo if we go again.
The only thing you have to look out for is the carousel is super fast...otherwise a wonderful small zoo
Pallas cat kittens were cute and the carousel is nice as well.
We love it here. I agree it is a small zoo but if you have membership it is worth it.
Disappointing really. No sharks, no gators, rhinos, and the Great Bald Eagle in a cage. So sad.
Nice place to visit with your little kids!
Small zoo but very nice to spend a few hours! Birthday party or weddings are offered.
$11–15
Pretty good zoo for the size.
Smaller zoo. Daughter loved the farm animal section.
Great zoo! Spacious and nice that it's mostly outdoors. The animals look happy and healthy.
Children love this place. When the COVID-BS paranoia is over this gem will return to its rightful place as a must visit and spend hours and lots of dollars at.
Loved being able to feed the goats! And see the wolves so close! Awesome family outing!
Awesome family experience. Small zoo, but very helpful and experienced staff.
Love the zoo! Great place to take kids (or grandkids) always a great time. Even got the carousel to end the day!!!
A really nice zoo, love the wolf exibit
Fun to visit, lots of kid activities and animals in nice habitats.

Pleasant open spaces & a surprising variety of wildlife make RRZ a welcoming & joyful destination for all ages.
This is truly the little zoo that could! It's small, yet has more to do than some larger zoos I have been to! I only have one complaint, please brush your horse more often he really needed it when I was there.
Went to the event Holiday Nights. My five year old had a blast. His favorite parts were the feeding animals section, free carousel ride, and the s'mores station. The lit up paths and decorations were lovely and it was great weather on the 28th to attend.
Small, but inviting zoo. Great children and family programs!
Cute Lil zoo. Had fun with grandbabies.????
$11–15
This Zoo is one of the most amazing places in Fargo. I highly suggest bringing young kids here along with adults as well. It offers an amazing experience for all ages from infants to the elderly. It is also relitivly cheap to go to as well.
Awesome place to take kids. We come here a lot and have exhibits for kids. Family pass has great value.
I enjoy coming here for peaceful strolls. The zoo is rather underwhelming from an adult point of view, but the kids love it--especially the otters! It's a great place to spend the afternoon.
Great family friendly place, with lots of fun things happening! Would definitely recommend getting a membership to enjoy the zoo throughout the year!
Great zoo for the size. Friendly staff interesting mix of animals to see, otters, wolves, prairie dogs, camels, etc. Reasonably priced too.
Great place! Good variety of animals and information on those animals.
Great zoo! All the animals are from a similar climate as ours in Fargo. Lots of rescues too.
Was told they had strollers then got there and they didn't have them available for use do to covid
It was boring, there were hardly any animals ther. honestly you could go to the middle of no where and have more exciting animals approach .. it smelled worse than the average zoo the animals did not seem to happy. It was twenty dollars a person for what was worth maybe 5.00 ...don't bother replying to my review it won't change ..it s***ed
Excellent zoo! Friendly staff! Well maintained exhibits & all the animals looked well taken care of.
Great zoo. With some animals you don't normally see in zoos
Nice facility,Impressive work done at the Zoo. Polite staff Thank you
Small but well kept. Cute zoo. Did the Holiday Lights Event and it was wonderful.
The zoo is a great place, adding some variety may make it a bit better. I know that is tough to do on a smaller budget, but just a thought, because when you have small children they get bored seeing the same animals time after time.
Small zoo but the price of admission reflects the size. It was great for our young kids and we were able to be in and out in about 3 hours. Bring quarters, there are lots of opportunities to feed animals.
Very small zoo. We were disappointed. Literally took about 30 minutes to walk through it. Quite expensive ($10/adult and $7/kid). The Como zoo in Minneapolis is bigger (and free, but suggested donation of $3 /adult $2/child). This is what they should charge. Winnipeg zoo is about 10 times bigger, about 3-4 hours to walk through and $20/adult or $10 per child. Much better value.
Cool place to visit. Lots of neat animals
Great zoo for little kids!
A cute little zoo, had a great time looking at all the animals.
Quaint zoo in Fargo. Well kept and clean, animals seem to be treated well. Interesting instructional demonstrations. An enjoyable afternoon with the family.
Christmas lights at the zoo was fun, probably do it again next year.
Super little zoo in the heart of Fargo, well worth a visit
Its a great little zoo, I wish they had more funding for more interactive learning throughout the day but overall not bad
It is a small zoo, but has big impacts. One of the best breeding programs for red pandas in the world.
So, if you have little kids and dont want to burn your day on a place like the Omaha Zoo, but you want to use about 2-3 hours. The Red River Zoo is perfect! We also got a Family Pass there it's awesome! Check it out.
Really nice place to visit with the kids. Only reason I'm giving it a 4 star is cause baby ducks got into the birds of the Orient cage, and the momma ducks was trying to get in to them. They should have a different set up for the pond drains to prevent that.
Date of Visit: 10/13/2019 - We had a great visit to this zoo! Having grown up with the Minnesota Zoo (in Apple Valley, MN), this zoo seemed quite small, but we really enjoyed how quaint it was. We also enjoyed that there appeared to only be 4-5 families walking the zoo while we were there, so it was almost as if we had our own personal zoo to ourselves. The staff we encountered by the front door was incredibly friendly, however, the staff we encountered by the carousel were not friendly at all. We stopped into the shelter to take a quick photo of the carousel and were glared at the entire time. Only took us about 30-45 minutes to walk the entire zoo.
Absolutely love this zoo. It's not very big, but what they do, they do very well. Nicely designed exhibits/habitats for the animals with very nice information placards for each. They have a focus on creatures from a similar climate so as not to cause them stress from a North Dakota winter. Most of the animals are from the more mountainous parts of Asia. They work with different programs preserving endangered species including a breeding program for red pandas. Highly recommend visiting here.
Nice small zoo. Uses natural topography for displays. Does not crowd enclosures. Plenty of local animals with good displays of limited exotics.
Nice place. The otter exhibits is pretty neat.
Really enjoyed coming here, price is really good, and the animals are always nice to see
Very pleasant experience. Quite impressed with the selection of animals. The ones featured are not commonly seen in your average zoo. Personal favorite was the wolf exhibit. Would definitely recommend.
A nice zoo, well maintained and fun for younger kids. Being expanded for larger (non-farm) animals would be great for the metro.
What a wonderful Mothers Day! Well kept, and the animals looked hreat!
Really enjoyed it, nice zoo for its size.
No wait
Smallest zoo we have been to and we have been to many over our daughters 11 years of life. Paid too much for this place honestly. Probably could see more animals driving around then we seen here at this zoo. Just a shame overall we had higher hopes for it and just nothing to offer us. Most exhibits where run down and some didn't even had water in them for example the river otters had little to no water and the water it did have was extremely dirty. Just extremely disappointed in this zoo I really don't know how in a big city like fargo is how u could have such a small run down zoo like this. We have been in bigger zoos for smaller prices.
It's a nice little zoo. A bit pricey especially if it isn't one it's discount days. It was worth the visit for us coming from Texas. Loved the prairie dogs and red panda.
Nice zoo and reciprocity with other zoos throughout the country
Nice, clean, interesting and educational zoo.
Cute little zoo. All the animals were out and active.
Amazing! Spent too much money but it was well worth it
Awesome little zoo. We took our time and seen everthing in about 2 hours. We fell in love with the red pandas. My boys ages 12 and 10 loved it!
Only about ½ the animals were out. It was ok.
Charming well maintained zoo. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit with our 20 month old granddaughter!
It was nice! I liked it that you could buy food to give to the animals for only a quarter, and it was a good amount of food too. My kids enjoyed that. They also enjoyed the carousel which was also very reasonably priced!
Nice, little zoo with some very nice grounds and eating areas, along with small little concessions placed in convenient areas. The staff is very friendly and willing to answer any questions you have. It is definitely worth a visit.
Zoo was perfect size to walk with children! Well worth the drive the kids loved it
Attended their holiday nights event, my 5 yo enjoyed all the beautiful lights. Not sure it would be entertaining for bigger kids, he seemed to be bored. We were hopping for more animals.
This is a nice little zoo. It only takes about 2 hours to see everything. All the exhibits were clean and the animals seemed happy. Lots of open space between exhibits for kids to run off some steam.
this is a very nice place, but not a very wide variety of animals
Animals did not look very healthy. Seemed all this place did is show more about growing crops
Wild!
This is a fantastic zoo. It has an amazing variety of interesting animals I've not seen in much larger zoos. Their curation is phenomenal.
Great exhibits for such a drastic climate. Fun activities for families throughout the year. A true heart for the conservation of animals.

Loved all the animals. But thought it was bigger than it was.
Great first date spot. Despite RRZ not being the biggest zoo around, it has a lot of character and charm. The wolves were howling last time I visited and it was truly a magical experience
This has always been a top notch small zoo. The animals are great and great environments. This must be one of if not the premier red panda breeding programs in the world
The zoo in town is a lot of fun, the new year party every year is great time for kids and romantic couples. The otters tend to be the most fun to see when active. The petting zoo is also a great time. Lots of bathrooms and plenty of indoor buildings for when its cold or hot out. The hours change depending on season so be aware of winter and summer visits. The carasoel is also a fun activity for kids and smaller kids at heart.
Nice zoo. Good place to hang out with the grandson.
Great for young children.
Tons of fun!
This place makes for a nice afternoon visit. Very kid friendly and a pretty good variety of animals to see and learn about. I hear some people use this as a wedding spot which would make for a unique start to your married life. Looking for something new to see give this zoo a look!
Great place for quick tour. The place is not that big small loop. We enjoyed it thou

We booked an animal encounter at the Zoo for December. Due to inclement weather on the day of our scheduled event, we were unable to make our appointment that day. The Zoo staff were understanding of the situation and had no problem rescheduling our event for January. They even called us to confirm if we needed to reschedule. On the day of our animal encounter, Zoo staff had shoveled the animal enclosure and walkway leading to the enclosure before we arrived. They did an excellent job guiding out group through the closure, letting us participate where possible, and answering our questions. We had a great time!
Small amount of animals .
The red river zoo is Fargo's only zoo. It's clean, the exhibits and pathways are well maintained, and the animals are treated well. Not the biggest zoo, and very walkable in a reasonable amount of time. The carousel and playground keep kids entertained even after visiting all the animals. The only bad thi g is the admission prices area bit high, coming in at almost $10 a person.
No
Awesome very clean only missed one animal we couldnt see.
Went for the fourth of Zoo-ly. Very well kept zoo! Thank you for supporting our troops!
Great place to visit, my kids really enjoy it.
The kids had a blast on all the paths and feeding the animals!!
My kids love this place.
Not very many animals! The park only takes 30 minutes to see everything. Some seem to think it is pricey but I don't think $10 per adult is expensive. The staff was friendly!
It's a nice zoo but you when last visited not once did we see anyone tending to the animals. The enclosures need some modernization. The animals seem bored and I would highly recommend they add a petting zoo area. The fact that we could turn our tickets into a family membership was only thing exceptional about this zoo
Very nice and small zoo. Disappointing size of zoo for how big Fargo is and not a great variety of animals. Great for ages 1-5.
We visited for their Christmas season special. Loved it! Our daughter is just about 2 1/2 had a great time seeing, feeding the animals and also enjoyed the carousel and fire they had going.
A very nice zoo. Lots of different animals. The grandkids had a great time. Beautiful flowers and plants. Lots of mature trees for shade....nice walking paths.
Great little zoo. Lots of animals and two great playgrounds.
Great zoo. Awesome membership prices
This was actually a surprisingly nice zoo. I didn't know what to expect with it being in the city. It is clean. There is some nice artwork and a fair variety of animals.
Great fun with the family. Very clean. Our little one loved feeding the alpaca's!
I've enjoyed my time there. ❤
Great for small kids. We have a family membership and it is well worth it for the amount of times we go plus free admittance to special events.
So much more than we expected when we first pulled up! Was a great time!
Was good....but not nearly as nice as Wahpeton a zoo/animal assortment!!!
Still a lovely place even in this pandemic. Perfect get away!
Good place for PokemonGo community day, but rather tame in animal selection. Good place to show city kids parts of a farm life and a few other animals.
Pretty big place, not as many animals as I thought would be there.
A great place to spend an afternoon with kids. We love going and my grandchildren especially enjoy being "hands on" with the goats and feeding the animals that are allowed to be fed. Lots to look at and you can also enjoy a bite while sitting at a picnic table. The new areas are beautiful and very kid friendly. Also, at the end of our time at the zoo, we all enjoy the beautiful carousel. Great for families with younger children who don't want to travel a long distance to see some unique and familiar animals.
Very expensive for the quality of the zoo. Most animals were not visible, poor setup.
Absolutely gorgeous zoo with adorable animals. The red pandas are super active when it's not as hot out.
Great place with nice habitats. They usually have holiday specials so you can get in for free or discounted if you watch their site. The carousel is beautiful and indoors so if it starts to rain or if it's cold it's lovely and cheap. They also do reasonably priced birthday parties.
The entry price is affordable and goes to the animals, so I never have a problem with going there. They have a very wide variety of animals to view, and learn about. You can host many events for a decent price, thr only issue is that the food is quite pricy, but its all good. Definitely a favorite to bring friends, family, or a date.
Most of the animals here have good sized pens.
It’s nice that it’s a smaller zoo than I’m use to in St. Louis, MO but I was sad to see that none of the goats had food in the quarter machines for us to feed them. The horses didn’t have water in their bowl. A lot of it looked run down and not well taken care of :( I’m not sure I would like to take my children there.
Love taking our Grandkids here.
It's always a treat to go there. I get in my steps for health and have the joy of seeing the birds and animals. I'm in a walk group with two friends and we love the Wednesday morning Walk Program starting at 7AM to 9AM. We go inside the carousel building at 9 to have coffee, water, and a couple of donut holes while we listen to Sally as she shares the educational component with all of us. It's very interesting and tons of fun. It's an ever changing zoo with a big heart.
My kids love this place so I bought them the year membership. I don't go because they give me an escort and make me feel uncomfortable from bringing my service dog.
Weekday
Great little zoo. I had never saw a Takin before, very cool looking animals. For the price its a great place to take a break on long road trips
Not sure
Nice place. Very clean. Reasonable entry fees. Needs a few more animal exhibits. The carousel rocks... almost got dizzy :-) Fun place.
Total waste of time and money. See as many animals at a pet store. And countless exhibits were empty.
Nice Zoo. Clean, animals well cared for, very nice exhibits.
Love going to the zoo. A real gem! Conservation focused and educational.
Smaller for a Zoo but still really nice. lots of stuff to see including wolves and bald eagles
Awsome day had a blast will go again !!!
Nice small zoo.
Nice zoo to take my granddaughter to!
Great experience! I wished I had gone when I lived here 17 years ago!
Have membership so get in at 9 instead of 10 open time is sweet. Plenty of space to not have to fight off the covid disbelievers. Please donate and volunteer often
Not a huge zoo, more like a stroll through a park with exhibits. I think I will cancel mt membership at the gym and walk through the zoom, its a lot more peaceful.
Beautiful day to use our zoo membership! Not too many people, and able to spend 1 1/2 hours enjoying the animals!
Loved seeing all the animals and LOVED feeding the goats!
Fun little Zoo. Animals were active. Great place to take little kids.
Not a very large zoo; you can go through it in less than an hour. However, it does have a wide range of animals and it is working hard to expand and improve it's exhibits. For the reason it looks like a new zoo despite being around for awhile. Frequent zoo talks by staff to educate people on various animals. Successful breeding program means usaully you can see baby animals in the spring. Popular exhibits include the otters, wolves, and red pandas.
To expensive for 30 animals you see in the winter. Maybe good for really small kids.
Our kids love this zoo. We live about an hour away, and it's the closest zoo we have. It's enough animals and activities to entertain our little ones. They have a little food court to order lunch or snacks. They also have a very cute gift shop. The kids get super excited every time we go.
We're from New Orleans, where there is a huge zoo, and live in Minneapolis, where there are 2 huge zoos, so we thought this one wouldn't be as good when we arrived because it was so much smaller. But it was, and I think for that reason! I loved how close you could get to the animals. We touched all of the animals in the petting zoo/farm area. We fed ducks, geese, and farm animals. We could've touched the prairie dogs even (but didn't in case they would bite), and we were able to touch and pet the male deer (super cool experience!!). The eagle was also nice to see unobstructed since he has an open-front enclosure. The wolves and red panda were so awesome to see up close. The carousel was also fun. Overall, LOVED this zoo. Very glad we stopped.
Very clean exhibits, the animals appear to be happy and healthy. The otters are adorable and love people. Would definitely go back.
Cute zoo, unfortunately we missed the red panda, Their employees were all friendly, Sally really does care about her Zoo super nice person.
This is a breeding zoo where animals are brought to help increase their population.
This is my first time at the zoo. For a small one it very nice
Excellent zoo, it's definitely on the smaller side, but perfect to tour for 2-3 hours, lots of variety in animals, perfect size to visit with kids, they shouldn't get fatigued or bored. Lots of interactive stuff involving farm animals, including feeding pellets to a small group of Jacob's sheep.
Honestly the smallest zoo I've ever been to and it doesn't take long to walk around and see everything but it's still enjoyable and definitely a spot to bring the kids. Staff was friendly and helpful while I was there.
Was expecting less but ended being there for a while ???? loved it
The Fargo zoo is a family friendly spot, great for little kids who want to walk.
Was kinda small but was a decent zoo
My toddler loves the zoo! We have a season pass and pop in for an hour or so. There's always something going on to see!
The foliage has grown up through the years, making the walk through much more pleasant. I hope the budget will someday allow expansion of the animal species exhibit s.
We love going to the zoo! Red River Zoo is always fun to go to. We like going to events they put on and it's fun to walk around and enjoy all of the animals and exhibits. If you haven't gone yet I would definitely recommended going! Bring the kids! They'll have fun feeding the animals and also learning about them as well. Follow them on Facebook and you can keep up-to-date on the happenings at the zoo!
Small.. but super cute..the kids loved it!
The zoo is good and everything, just wish they would have a cheaper admission fee for winter being all the animals aren't available. Just a thought
Reservation recommended
Always a good time! The animals are well cared for and the displays are always clean.
$50 to see 10 animals. Never going back.
The Red River Zoo is pretty young but is full of some awesome sights, especially for kids. My two year old loves the otters and wolves. All of the exhibits are well designed for smaller kids to view the animals as well as those that are blessed with height. With many unique events offered, including holiday nights and earth day celebrations I recommend this zoo!
Took our grand kids. They and us had a great time. We spent an enjoyable 3 hrs
Small but fun. My kids live feeding the animals.
Pretty small for the price and they few animals that are interesting are typically inside and unable to be viewed.
Love it! So fun to take our girls to the zoo!
It was very hot the day I was here so only a few animals to see. Wish there would have been more indoor areas to view the animals. The staff was friendly and helpful. Nice gift shop and carousel building. This zoo specializes in cold weather animals to don't expect to see giraffes or monkeys.
We always enjoy coming to the RR Zoo
Worst zoo ever!! Not only was it boring it was very expensive for seeing everything in less than 30 mins. I have been to free zoos that were way better than this.
A very nice zoo with many different types of animals on hand. Much more than I thought they would have in fargo north Dakota. They had an assortment of everything from monkeys to camels to farm animals. My grandkids loved interacting and feeding the livestock such as goats and you actually get your hands on and can touch some of the animals I especially liked the timber wolf exhibit I was amazed how large they are. Also take a ride on there full sized carousel it's first class. A relaxing afternoon with much to do It took us about two hours to walk through the whole exhibit. Also they have water and pop stations all over the zoo and a snack bar. We'll have fun it's worth the trip.
That Zoo has a lot of animals and a very wonderful place to take the kids! Lots of parking and a carousel for the kids! Lots of activities for the kids and lots of rare animals!!! Young and old would enjoy it!!!
Great animals n awesome gifts very friendly helpful staff
I didn't expect much, but I was thoroughly impressed. Lots of cold weather animals uncommon in other zoos.
I love the atmosphere of the Red River Zoo! It is something so simple, yet so fun to do with family and or friends. You have many options of where to start. There are demonstrations throughout the day so that you may have a closer look at some of the animals. The staff here ( whom I have encountered at least) are always around, knowledgeable, and friendly. They also do birthday parties and small events. Get your membership today you won't be disappointed.
Great little zoo. Wish it was bigger! Only need about an hour to go through.
Way too high of admission. Paid to pretty much take a walk and let our kids play at a park for 30min. Out of the whole zoo only saw about 5 animals. Doing work on too many exhibits so the animals were not present. Not very much to see, not very many animals. The exhibits are nice. And zoo is kept very clean. The zoo itself is very nice.
My grandsons had an awesome 9th birthday party there today. What awesome people working. Thank you so much ????????????????????????????
Pick up lots of quarters to feed the animals. Many will eat right out of your hands.
Not sure how we missed where the red pandas were but we did...
I would just like to say that the zoo is great. I brought my 99 year old grandma in a wheel chair it is not handicap accessible. People in chairs can not see the animals and rough trails. Chains hanging that get caught in the tires. So would like to see that change.
Yes
Its definitely no Chihankapa Zoo, but if your looking for a quick activity to do with the kids this will do.
Super family friendly. The carousel was out of order when we went but everything else was great! Very clean, animals look healthy and happy!
Great little zoo featuring otters, red pandas, wolves, and selection of barnyard animals. Our favorites were the prairie dogs and alpacas! Unfortunately the red pandas were hiding inside from the heat and the otter exhibit was closed for cleaning. We really enjoyed our visit with kids ages 2-12. Definitely visit if you have a couple of hours-we will be back the next time we're in town. Riding the carousel was a fun way to end our zoo visit too!
Great little zoo with plenty to do for kids and adults alike!
Great local zoo, they do a good job at re-investing their funds back into the zoo.
It was a beautiful Zoo
Closest place to visit zoo. staff was friendly....the animals are more domestic farm animals from all over the united states......no tigers, lions, hyenas, african animals...or animals from asia...alot of horses, cows, rabbits, birds, gophers, eagles....porcupines....the usual midwest
Great local zoo that is lots of fun for families. Hosts many events and has a passionate and dedicated staff who are great to interact with!
$31+
Cool animals, I was surprised with what the zoo had to offer.
Nice little zoo with some interesting animals. Just wish it was a bit bigger.
Right place to spend a half of a day or so if you have little kids. Carousel, ice cream, play ground and cute animals around they have all of these. This is true that zoo does not have large variety of exhibited species. I believe this is only mater of time. Those what they got looks like have very nice condition. Manuls (Pallas's cats) and Red panda are my favorite ones! Lynxes and wolves are cool too. Territory looks clean and well organized. I could say their staff doing great job and they have strong abilities to grow.
This is a lovely zoo! There's a surprising variety of wildlife. The zoo is not too big, with lots of places for kids to play, and to stop for a rest. The prices are good, too. We'll definitely be going back!
Selection of animals isn't the biggest, but my kids always still have fun. Zoo is clean and staff are polite and friendly. Zoo often has events and special days which are also fun, like Trick or Treat events, summer spectaculars etc. Zoo includes a petting zoo for children and an old restored carousel. I'm guessing the entire zoo could be seen in 45 minutes or so if you were quick, but we tend to spend a couple of hours per visit.
Not bad. Didn't see very many animals. Over priced I my opinion
Fun zoo. Small but clean and enough to keep the grandkids happy. We very much enjoyed our day there
The Red River Zoo is an amazing gem in North Dakota. They do amazing conservation work with a number of animals. It is a good place to walk around any day if the week. Some of my favorites are the alpacas that were just recently added and the Pallas cats. If you have a chance check it out and if you like it buy a membership or donate. The community support helps keep this zoo going.
Very clean, pretty zoo. Awesome carousel. Not many larger animals, but still an easily returnable family outing.
Nice and fun for the whole family. I loved walking in and seeing a sloth immediately on your left.
The RR Zoo is a great place during times of struggle or any time, for that matter. The animals do not care about your political views, your religion or lack of, or the pandemic. When you come to the Zoo you are in constant fresh air and the antics of some wonderful animals. You will enjoy the RR Zoo which is the only one of its kind ...presenting cold winter animals. Right now, come for pretty lights hot chocolate & smores as HOLIDAY NIGHTS are presented.
Great zoo, attended an evening event there. Great caterer and nice to see animals in a smaller crowd.
Staff were very friendly through the zoo, have many animals that you can't see around here, and usually the animal clinic in the zoo is open so other people can see the animals during checkups
Kinda spendy, but there's animals I've never seen before!
Beautiful grounds. Nice collection of animals. And the cages aren't too small
Have been here multiple times for different events. Nice to have our own zoo in the area! Enjoyable!
Loved the hawk lady tonight! She was a load of information and such a pleasant personality!
Real nice zoo for it’s size, well done Red River Zoo!
Fun little zoo but the chain link fencing MUST go
Very small zoo. Most eciting thing is the wolves. I honestly just watched them for 20 minutes. Makes it somewhat worth it.
Neat and interactive attractions. Always neat to see this place!
This zoo is just the right size. You can easily walk around the zoo without getting exhausted. The carousel is fun!!! There is a nice variety of animals. The plant collection is very nice too! The snack shop offers dippin dots and other munchies. A nice little get away.
A cute little zoo, great area to bring families of all ages.
First time here and loved it. The layout was great.
Medium sized zoo with a lot of beautiful anumals.
There was one stunning I mean absolutely gorgeous specimen wandering around today. She was breathtaking. Turned out to be my woman.
Enjoyed the Zoo with my family.
For November you can't beat this place. Whole family had a blast
We can't wait to go back!
My 2 year old had a blast it’s kind of expensive for a single mom but totally worth the smiles!
Its a really nice zoo. A perfect little zoo to take your children to.
Fun time with the family and I got all slobbery feeding the cow. Lol
For the price they wanted was way too much to ask for. I paid $33+ and didn't get to much at all. The best 4 things were the eagles, over sized lawn chairs, over sized picnic table and the dancing porcupine. If you wanna waste money go. Oh …
No wait
Visited here the day before I got married.. great fun
This is a very nice zoo. An excellent variety of animals. Fun playground for kids and a carousel to boot. We paid for membership and will be able to apply at hime for discounts on our local zoos. Highly recommend going early begore the heat of the day.
This zoo is perfectly pleasant. It's not a large zoo, so think of it more of a big park that has some animals to look at.
Very nice place. Went on a pretty hot day so some of the animals were hiding. We had a lot of fun.
It's a nice little zoo. Great for younger kids. Not expensive, friendly staff.
Kids loved it, adults did too
One of the most depressing places I have been, most animals looked like they were dead, or next to it. Or they just went there. Hated it, will never go back
RRZ is a great place to visit for the whole family. It takes about 2 hours to visit the entire facility. You'll see animals that you've probably never seen before!
Awesome place to take the kids to get close to so many animals
Fun zoo for a first time trip; red pandas are always fun to see. Nothing compared to the San Diego Zoo, Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, or Denver Zoo. Came here for the Pokemon Go event and was sadly disappointed by how small the facility was.
Great Party for the Planet! Always a good place for a walk and connect to nature.
I paid $40 to get into the Zoo and it's not that great, I didnt see any bears or Monkeys, I have been to smaller zoo's that are much better. We will not be bcak.
Great place and very educational, my kids had a lot of fun.
This is a great little zoo, the new otter exhibit looks awesome
Small zoo but worth the price. Fun for kids
Great time walking around looking at animals
This place is great to spend with family
Very clean and animals look well taken care and not sick
Great little zoo for the area. Love the Red Pandas and feeding the goats.
Very small zoo. There are some animals from other parts of the world that you usually don't see at other zoos. All including the animals looked very well taken care of.
Not a big zoo but a beautiful atmosphere and the little one enjoyed it.
Great place to take my son. Not to large can see everything in a hour if you have been there before.
Our family loves spending time at Red River Zoo!
A nice little zoo. wish there was more but they do have great events there. just went to a Christmas night there and my kiddos had a great time.
Most animals were visible. There is a playground in the zoo for the kiddos and a carousel.
One of the smallest zoos in the country & surprisingly not all that impressive. As a single person walking through the 23 exhibits total I was able to clear the zoo in under an hour. The heat I also believed kept some of the animals inside as well. Big disappointment
We went in the early afternoon and unfortunately, a few of the animals were not out- wolves, deer, lynx (bobcat?), and few others were sleeping. The animals that were out were fun! The meerkats and otters are always so fun to watch! The goats and alpaca were hilarious. I recommend going during the morning and bringing a lot of quarters to feed the farm animals. They have a couple play areas which were a hit! Carousel was down but that seems to be typical. ???? It's a fun little zoo for my young kiddos! We will go again. ????????
I was a little worried about it only being $10, but the zoo was excellent and the animals looked healthy and comfortable.
For the price they wanted was way too much to ask for. I paid $33+ and didn't get to much at all. The best 4 things were the eagles, over sized lawn chairs, over sized picnic table and the dancing porcupine. If you wanna waste money go. Oh and bring your own wheel chair. The regular sized ones are all they had. My friend who is on the larger size got stuck in it.
Loved it! It was a lot of fun to go with the wife and daughter. May be small but totally worth it!
It's a smaller zoo compared to others but it offers and good variety of animals, all of which are good in the cold weather. Price of admission is reasonable and when all the animals are active it's quite an enjoyable trip that takes a couple hours.
Small zoo. Entrance is pretty reasonable $11.25 for adult $8.75 for kids. SInce its summer most of their animals are in hiding. They have somekind of a gumball machine of food for the alpaca and the goats which is kinda cool. They also have a small park for kids to play and a carousel. There's food for sale but not much selection.
Fun, entertaining and educational place to go.
Great value. Kids loved it. Went on a weekday afternoon and virtually had the place to ourselves.
Good atmosphere, good shake, food was OK.
It's ok not things to see but was nice
I've been going to this zoo for almost my whole life and I love it because all of the animals that you get to see and more
Yay zoo!!
The otters are kind of the stars but the camels are neat too. Sometimes the zoo let's you feed the camels.
Always nice and clean and animals are well taken care of
Best zoo I have ever been to. I love the setup, the animal enclosures are full of enrichment, lots of parking, very helpful staff and all around the best family outing.
Great family fun. Easy to see in an hour. Printer down the day we were there so no map available.
Fun, but the enclosures seem small and the animals didn't all look thrilled. But there was a variety of animals and it was a good time.
Thanks for letting us mothers in for free, always a good time at the zoo!
Such a lovely zoo. We love our visits!
nice local zoo, thought it was well worth the $10 fee.
For a small zoo, there are actually some interesting things to see and they have a couple things that will keep kids interested. A good family day trip.
Love this zoo. It's a nice size to see everything. Always clean.
I enjoyed the zoo very much. Beautiful grounds to walk around, clean environment, and the animals were happy and healthy????????????????????????????
Went the in the winter and we barely saw any animals(obviously) but the lights were pretty
Had a great time. Nice little zoo .
A very nice little zoo, well kept and friendly staff, happy to answer any questions about their charges. I visited in the morning, so lots of habitat cleaning.... Some animals I didn't see, simply because it wasn't their time of day, don't expect a big commercial place with tons of exotics, it's a small local zoo and well worth the visit.
Really fun visit for Halloween! Beautiful zoo!
Fargo, ND has a zoo. It's great. Imagine the animals that CAN live in captivity in a zoo in Fargo! It's not like we are going to make a huge dome for animals to live under on our tax money, or our donations. My whole family loves our zoo and the incredible animals that they bring to us. I applaud there efforts and visit often!
This zoo would have been great IF they would have had the highly advertised Carousel ride available to actually be ridden- but it was closed for maintenance. I also had a problem with the way some of the animals were taken care of- there were 2 HUGE Bald Eagles that were keep in a very small environment, much to small to accommodate their large wing span! I don't see how either of them could fly around, especially both at the same time! It made me kind of sad.
A small and wonderful gem with easy access in Fargo. A family tradition every year on the girls shopping get-away! Go early for happiest animals. Highlights include the wolves... the red panda... and the authentic merry-go-round!
Ton of kids there great food had the animals we're looking to look at and it had trick or treaters and as Halloween themed and you got a pumpkin at the end
So kind and informative on all animals. Made my and my boyfriend's trip outstanding.
Loved it!! All the animals were out, dispite the warm weather.
Enjoyed the Fargo Zoo with my grandson.
It's always a nice day when it starts with a visit to the Zoo! At 10:30 am the Zookeeper give a talk about the animals. A different animal every time. Today it was on the area panda. So interesting!
Any place with otters is a five star review from me.
Good experience!!! Loved the animals. Very friendly staff.
I've enjoyed my time there. ❤
Nice zoo friendly people there
It's a smaller zoo but they do a lot with what they have. It was fun being able to feed some of the animals and the staff is friendly and always willing to answer your questions. If you have children this would be a great place to bring them. If you visit on an exceptionally hot day don't expect a lot of movement from the animals.
I loved this Zoo!! It was fun, clean, and very interesting!!!
One of my favorite places! Love all the animals!
Weekend
A small, but still very fun zoo. Plenty of animals to see, feed, and pet. Very clean and highly maintained.
A very sweet and just-the-right-size zoo. It won't take you all day, but it also won't go by too quickly. Most animals are close enough to see easily. Granted some just want to be out of sight while sleeping. I can certainly relate. We got to see a zoo keeper talk on one of the animals. The keeper was very knowledgeable and kind with dozens of child-like questions bombarding her. We thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience.
We always have an amazing time! Small zoos like this are perfect for toddlers! My two year old will lead the way and tell us what animals are coming up. He has a blast! The summer nights program is perfect for a family night out after my husband gets home from work! I love this zoo! :)
Went for the first time ever, smaller than I thought it'd be but it was a great time for the whole fam. Thank you!
Very impressed by the variety of animals! Good time! And the carousel was SO fun!
Nice little zoo, but late afternoon all animals sleeping in shelters
Well, there are a few animals that aren't indigenous to the area, so that's cool. And they have an awesome sloth. Kids love it. Carousel always rules. Overall pretty cool.
A lovely little zoo. Easily walked in a couple of hours. Great interactive kids exhibits. Can't wait to visit again.
Didnt get to see the pandas :( which is the whole reason I wanted to go but it was still beautiful!
It's a small zoo, but the animals are well taken care of. Small kids live it, and it has a very reasonable entrance fee, or a membership. It's also a nice place to walk around and get some exercise, or play Pokemon Go. It's wheelchair accessible as well. There's a carosel, and a great playground.
Staff was knowledgeable but was not made aware of how few animals were available for viewing before paying admission. Made the visit a bit of a disappointment
A wonderful little zoo with plenty to see and enjoy.
Reservation recommended
Animals what else lol and it was fathers day and my daughter was with me had a blast
Reservation recommended
Awesome Zoo. I wish the otters were out more though.
Our family’s go to for a day out! Their COVID guidelines are great as well.
Just an ok zoo, fun for the kids
Not bad for a little zoo. Well maintained exhibits.
Have been here a few times and always a fun experience to see the animals and walk the small trail they have here! Nice gift shop as well
Small but very nice and clean zoo!
Great free event. My son loved chalking up the sidewalk. Fun to see the camels playing in the water
Very well kept zoo. Lots of fun events!
It was fun but multiple enclosures were empty, including our favorite, the Otters. The kids enjoyed the playground and the other animals. The carousel was not working and all of the food dispensers at the petting zoo were empty.
Great zoo!!
So cute... Small but beautiful.. Can't wait to come back
Price for adult entry
Went to Boo at the zoo, kids had a blast seeing the animals and trick or treating as we went.
We try to visit every year. One to two hours is never enough time for us. There is so much packed in to see that we could spend an entire afternoon here!
Even under feet of snow this zoo is still full of beautiful, active animals. 25 degrees today, february, and we got to see an otter, a red panda, and pallas cats more active than ive ever seen them before. We always enjoy the Red River Zoo.
Adorable small zoo. Nice selection of animals and fun to see. For the mission of this zoo, their animals appear to be happy, healthy and have plenty of room. There also appears to be plenty of handlers on site to keep them taken care of. Would definitely recommend this zoo to anyone who enjoys animals and doesn't mind the small setting.
Our whole family enjoyed this place! The animals were varied and interesting, the staff were well informed and helpful and the kids loved the merry-go-round!
We live this zoo so much. Just the right size to do I'm a few hours!
The kids have fun every time we go to the zoo. They might have a limited number of animals but it’s fun regardless.
I love this place immensely! It's open all year, and, although some animals aren't as active during opening hours, there's always stuff to do!
Graet zoo! Has a lot to offer for all ages despite it's small size.
Awesome experience and well priced! Definitely will be back after the remodel is done and year after year!
Great facility
Nice place, the best part for us was feeding the ducks and geese that aren't even "zoo animals" they just land there to get food haha
Went to the event Holiday Nights. My five year old had a blast. His favorite parts were the feeding animals section, free carousel ride, and the s'mores station. The lit up paths and decorations were lovely and it was great weather on the 28th to attend.
This is a very small zoo. Clean, but the enclosures are small for many of the animals. Had a super nice Carousel and play area for younger kids.
Great little zoo, very reasonable
This zoo has really stepped up the last few years. Not too large that you feel uncomfortable letting your kid out of sight. Friendly volunteers there to answer questions. I really love the PA announcements of live feedings and quick q&a sessions. The new kids area is really cool and had a small gift shop. There's a refreshment stand and a carousel too! The carousel kinda goes fast so make sure you are there to hold any small child that wants to ride. Best deal is the membership. You get access to other zoos and lots of deals and special events.
Its okay there are some animals i just wanted more that why this ends early have fun if you want to go bye!!!!!!!!
My two girlies love walking around, seeing the animals and riding the carousel!
Such a great little zoo on the grow! Can't wait to see what they add on next!!
Wonderful Zoo even though small, especially for young children
A nice little zoo with some fun animals. The kids liked "Sid the sloth" (they named him), and the bald eagle on his perch. Their favorite was the tractor cab and feeding the cows and goats.
I had the opportunity to have my wedding at the RRZ this last weekend. Everything was seriously incredible. Not only was Sara incredibly easy to work with and always answered my questions (no matter how odd they may have seemed) but all of my family told me how easy the entire staff was to work with the day before and the day of. We could not have asked for a better experience and we are so excited to be back to visit on less busy days.
Small zoo but kids has fun.
Super fun for the family! My daughter loved feeding the animals and watching the otters play.
Fantastic place to go to see some beautiful wildlife. Great for kids
The Red Panda looked like he was going to fall out of the tree and I couldn’t help him. I haven’t seen him since. I fear the worst.
A cute and tidy little zoo right in the middle of Fargo. Check out the red pandas and wolf cabin, and ride the carousel.
Small zoo but n8ce layout, perfect for little children
Great little zoo with some endangered animals and information about why they are threatened or endangered and how the zoo is helping.
So much to see. Beautiful zoo and well kept
I wasn't too impressed honestly, had more fun making fun of the place than anything else but still was first I've even been too a zoo, my older brother as well so I still enjoyed the experience on some level
We had my (our) son Daxton's birthday here on a Saturday afternoon. The initial contact regarding having the birthday there, was met with professional and happy staff. I dealt mostly with Mason, who was always available to answer my bazillion questions ha! I was able to bring my own food, the zoo had a wonderful cake as part of there package. As well as punch, cups, plates, forks, napkins and table covers! Certainly saves time having to get all of that n set up! The kids had unlimited carousel rides, the opportunity to have a zoo docent show them 2 critters up close(a turtle and blue tongued skank)while giving them some education on each and allowing them to ask questions too! Also, the birthday included zoo admission, so the kids were able to wonder around and see some of our cold weather animals:) It was a great experience. No complaints whatsoever!
My kidos loved it and feeding goats was my fav part.
Could use more animals but enjoyed going there.
Loved this place! My boyfriend and I both went for the first time today. The pallas cats are soo cool! Everything there was awesome
Most underrated zoo of all time. Has the best animals and the workers truly care about their jobs
This is a great zoo; lots of variety and play areas for the kids.
This is a super great place to take your family. Fun to learn about different animals than are typically at most zoos. I’m excited to see it grow and see the different animals they will get. Also they do many fun events that give parents a chance to take an evening off. Also Red Pandas are too cute!
Didn't realize how big it was. Amazing exhibits, they all have water features. And rare animals that are all so happy. Great zoo!!!!
Its a very small zoo. They are expanding though. Good place to bring the kids.
This is a charming little zoo that is great for young families who want to expose their children to animals for the first time
This was our first time at a zoo with our toddler, and she loved it!
Fun afternoon, good snacks. Friendly staff
It was decent but I wish there were more animals
Fun zoo!! Friendly staff!!
Great little zoo to bring the youngins! The facility is well kept and the staff is very friendly! Follow them on facebook to see some of the great events they host, many are free and the kids love it! Can't beat a free event at the zoo when you want to take the kids out for a day!
I'm a little sad a city the size of Fargo doesn't have a zoo or rescue habitat worthy of its size. This one is small, its a good size for the children younger than seven. Any older than that the children will boor easily.
A small but very nice Zoo. Some of my favorites included the Wolves, the red panda and a very interesting cat from the cat family.
Very nice but small zoo!
Awesome little zoo grandchildren loved it.
One of my most favorite places in the FM area! The animals seem happy and healthy! The staff and volunteers are quite knowledgeable!
Going to end up getting the membership . worker's are very helpful and friendly
RRZ has a wide array of animals, that will delight you're young ones! Purchase your membership and enjoy these great animals all year long!
Small zoo. Staff was unfriendly when I visited.
Great way to spend an afternoon. Just enough to see and do. Fun exhibits and the kids love the carousel!
New exhibits. Great size zoo with lots of animals for kiddos to see!
We had such a wonderful time at the zoo! It is one of the first places I've ever been to that had a place where I could comfortably nurse my little one. The fact that they thought of nursing moms meant the world to me. And the entire park is very baby friendly. We had a blast taking Saya around to every exhibit. We will definitely be returning. This place is a must see, even if you live in Fargo. ❤️
The red river zoo is a nice place to go, but the animal selection is limited. I was hoping to see some big cat exhibits like lions or tigers. The main attraction was the red panda, which wasn't quite as exciting. Also, the wolves were a cool exhibit, but they were not very active, which wasn't that great. I'd like to set them at dusk when they're active, or see them while the staff feeds them, if they do that during business hours.
This is such a great place to go with a family. It is small, but not too small. The carousel is a great place to warm up when it is cold or cool down when it is hot. They have some great events throughout the year and an annual family membership is only a little bit more than family admission. Plus, they will let you use your admission to pay for your membership if you decide to become a member halfway through your visit.
Small enclosures for animals. You can feed the animals in multiple exhibits, but it costs extra (25 cents). Carousel in the middle of the zoo also costs extra.
Great zoo! You can get up close which is nice. Would definitely return!
This is an awesome gem for the F-M community. Great facility, friendly staff, way more than I expected
Wish the funding matched the city size, because it hasn’t grown at the rate the metro has in the past years. Animals change but not the exhibits,
Very little going on here. Somewhat good for families but hardly any animals to view and some looked malnourished. The Red Panda seems to be the one good one.
Love the walking atmosphere of this zoo. Open, inviting. My grandkids loved it!
Friendly staff and such sweet animals. Great exhibits as well
The behind-the-scenes red panda encounter is a must for anyone who loves red pandas. Marcy and team were great and gave us the opportunity to meet and interact with three of the pandas for an enjoyable, informative and unhurried experience. We've done red pandas encounters at two other zoos, and this was the best one by far. One of the staffers also helped us find a pair of sunglasses we lost in the zoo, which was very much appreciated.
It's a nice zoo. They have a very large cow there and she just wants love and affection. I would say that if you do go that it be a requirement to call her a good cow. She's earned it
Unique animals and friendly staff. We are proud members of the zoo. Animals are from areas that have similar climate to our region so there is activity year round.
Super nice and I absolutely love they have a place for nursing mothers to have privacy ????
This is the worst zoo I have ever seen! They have none of the regular zoo animals and what they do have are so depressed looking. The Eagle was the worst, sitting on his perch with clipped wings! Just awful! And the $10 price per adult is robbery! Shame on the Red River Zoo!
Wonderful. Nice staff. Clean. Interesting. Definitely worth going.
Beautiful setting. Great place to spend the day no matter your age.
Not a bad place to visit with the kids. If your kids are older they might be a little bored. But my family really enjoyed it
Nice little zoo. The kids love it and the animals are always visible. Most recently went in late November and there was still plenty to see and do.
Great Zoo !! They really care about the animals well being !❤❤????
It was a great stop for our children on our way through town.
Wonderful place to spend with little ones
Love the Zoo! Lots of great animals. Fun and relaxing place to visit often!
Wait time
We love going to this zoo every year.
My daughter and I loved seeing all the animals there.
On the small side but super cute. Well maintained.
This is a gem of a zoo. I don't think many people in the area realise what a great zoo this is. The zoo is concentrating on animals that can survive our harsh winters. If you have a few hours this would be a great place spend that time. They have all the other amenities, food and a gift shop, that make the visit pleasant.
Love the Red River Zoo! The zoo has an accreditation from the Association of Zoos and Aquariums. The zoo is home to 600 animals that represents 89 species. Beautiful zoo and well laid out. Please stop in to see the animals at the Red River Zoo. They're waiting to see you!
What a treasure, so close to town! We spent several hours exploring, indoors and out. I would recommend
They have great events here. They also take good care of their animals.
Even in the cooler Fall, it's a nice place for a visit. The animals are more active in the cooler months also.
No wait
Fun for the whole family!
My daughter loves the zoo, And we can never leave without a ride on the awesome Carousel €:}
Pretty small zoo but fun to see the cute animals in a crazy Covid-19 time
Nice quick zoo trip start to finish 45 minutes.
Fun place to go & enjoy seeing zoo animals.
Love the zoo!!! So happy for the free event so we could bring our little girls to see all the animals :)
Fun small place for kids
Small zoo. What they had was nice.
We go here a few times a year. It's ok for a small zoo and the kids enjoy it. Wish they had more animals besides the same ones we see in the great outdoors everyday. (Deer, groundhogs, birds, wolves). We come from Wyoming so these animals are common wood land creatures for us.
Not sure
Fun way to spend an afternoon. Many different animals on display
I love the red River zoo! It's more affordable than going to a movie and I always have a good time.
Its great for little kids. They could be so much more.
It's nice and clean. There are some nice exhibits for sure. Just smaller then I expected for Fargo being the biggest city. Not many bigger animals. No monkeys, no lions or tigers or bears. Nice petting zoo though and the play areas are nice. It just need to grow with the city. It just need more animals and it would be perfect. All in all a nice day trip for younger kids. For sur more of a young child type of zoo. My kids enjoyed it I do like that u can get a membership and use it at other zoos all over.
It's a young Zoo but they're getting better I particularly like the otters
It's ok to visit once!
There's tons of stuff to do here aside from the animals. Two playgrounds, a carousel, concessions, small gardens to walk through. The habitats are great and kept up with. The whole zoo is very clean! Definitely recommend!
Lot of fun for the kids need more reptiles
How can you not love the otters?

This was an unexpected stop for us and I'm so glad we did stop! There were endless things to see. The buildings were fun to look in and see the history of his people use to live. Tiny houses for large families all the way to 'mansions' with …
Grandkids love this zoo and always run to their favorite exhibits. Had so much fun on the carousel. The attendant was kind and engaging.
Fun fine small zoo with nice shelter locations for the animals. A very nice walk and popular with families. Clean. Notice the Tiger-painted front of their iconic entrance buffalo statue. Easy parking.
A good zoo, though I had hoped it would be bigger or at least closer to Bismarck size. For its size they have some nice exhibits, I was hoping there would be more personalized information on each one, or at least the store of the Ravens and how they came to the zoo. It’s so surprising that their breeding program for the Red Pandas is so successful, but I’m glad that it is. It could definitely use a bigger gift shop and I wish the penny press would have been somewhere more accessible just because I personally collect them.
The wife and I took 2 of our grandsons to the zoo. We had fun even though it was very hot out. Because it was hot, a lot of the animals were under cover. Surprisingly we saw quite a few animals thar are normally nocturnal. It was a fun way to spend a couple of hours.
Fun zoo but very small.
Wonderful zoo that has a fantastic variety of unique animals. Small but feels big

My experience was that it was a clean zoo that is great for family and kids. Having a membership makes it perfect for about a 1 hour walk through and a fun variety of animals for the size of zoo.
Price for adult entry

It was a beautiful Zoo
Very nice very clean zoo! Not overly big but good size for kids. Lots of activities and different types of animals to see. Very informative.
I really like taking my daughter to here she has lots of fun
A nice small zoo. Much bigger on the inside than it looks and there are plans to expand onto it. Worth a visit if you're in town.
It was a nice clean Zoo still early in the year not very many animals will there's a lot but not much kind of a small place for the price
Inexpensive and very clean good educational way to spend time with kids
Absolutely love visiting here! My kids love learning about all of the animals. I love the "scenic trail" feel to the zoo. Very natural feeling. Animals always seem happy and content. There is a Mommy Pod for nursing mothers, which I have very much appreciated. The event days are a blast. Always very interactive for kids of all ages. The otters are definitely a family favorite! The food and drink stand is fairly priced, not extremely over priced like large zoos. Lots of benches and seating scattered throughout for resting tiny feet. The playground is awesome. When my daughter took a little tumble and employee ran over to help us and walked with us to a bench (she just got a small scrape, got more scared than anything). They even popped back by a few minutes later to make sure she was ok and told us to let them know if she needed a bandaid, ice pack or anything. We buy a family membership every year!
It was so fun with the kids
Loved it!!!! A lot of the animals seemed sad though. You guys should run a present donation drive for them, I would contribute!!!
I grew up going to this zoo and now take my children. The amount this zoo has expanded is great. So if you havent seen it in a few years I reccomend going again.
It's enjoyable and a great place for return visits with the cost of admission.
