Went here for two separate work parties a few months ago and both experiences were not great. The food was terrible and cold when being served and the dessert tasted like cheap mass-produced sweets. The tables were crammed together, leaving little room to move. One positive I will say was that service was great and servers that work there are doing a great job, but whatever catering company that was hired for these events did a terrible job.

Whenever we are in St. John's the Lester's Farm Chalet is one of our usual visits. The kids love it. All the animals are friendly and well kept. The area is always tidy as well.

The animals were sweet, though several were injured and surely should have been sheltered and allowed to recuperate. Knowledgeable staff hard to come by, no signage to help educate visitors about the different animals. I'm not sure about this place, and I'm unlikely to return based on my family's experience.

This place is fantastic, a great store - friendly staff, amazing baked goods as well as meat and vegetables. We also really enjoyed the petting zoo and feeding the animals at the other farm. Great spot to take your kids for an afternoon if on vacation or if you have time.

I brought my daughters and my two grandsons to the farm because these boys absolutely love animals and would be so excited to see them up close. We had to pay to get in, which was expected. In addition, we purchased bags of feed so we could feed the animals as well. We hadn’t been there before so we asked if there was anyone working down with the animals for guidance or assistance but we were told no. So we happily went to explore. I was feeding one of the horses when I turned around to take a video of my grandsons. When I turned my back to the horse, he bit me hard on my back! The bite had broken through the skin and hurt quite a bit so I went back to the chalet for help. Farmer Jim happened to be inside when I got there so I told them what had happened. All I got in response was “he must have been jealous”. The young girl working there came to the bathroom with me to clean the wound and when my daughter came in to see how I was, she stopped the girl from putting a small bandaid on it (as it wouldn’t even cover a quarter of the wound) and told her what to do. I had to go to the hospital for a tetanus shot and waited to be seen for nearly 12 hours. I’m disappointed in the farm for the following reasons - 1) At no point was there any apology or sign of empathy for what happened, or attempt to make it right 2) If they aren’t surprised that this horse would behave in that manner, they should at least provide a warning on arrival, or have signs posted with instructions for interacting with the animals 3) There weren’t any staff members out on the farm to ensure that visitors are safe I do NOT feel safe bringing my grandkids here ever again. I keep thinking what if it had been one of them?! Since sharing my experience, I’ve heard of several others having or hearing about similar issues at this farm. I’d say think twice before coming here, or at the very least, watch your back!

We had our staff Christmas party last weekend at Lester's Farm Chalet. Organizing what we wanted with the staff at Lester's was easy and painless. The holiday decorations were absolutely beautiful and the venue was clean and inviting. Special shoutout to Sam for making our night so wonderful. Our staff said it was our best party yet. Thank you and see you next year!

We attended a childs birthday party on the farm and it was so much fun! My 4 year old enjoyed feeding the animals... seeing the pigs, sheep, bunnies, ducks, chickens, goats, cows and turkeys. She loved riding a Newfoundland pony and going on a tractor ride.

I MC'D my sisters wedding there. Food was very good. Experience was very cool being on the farm. I found the servers to be a little on the unaccommodating side. I asked them to help me lay out some things for the table and they point blank said no. Chalet really could use AC and a reliable wifi connection (as we would have preferred for our music setup). Overall though, it wad a fun time had by all! Especially all the young kids.

Great staff, great experience, animals are lovely, and they even let you hold their kids (you can hold the baby goats) as well as the lambs. Tractor rides are a great way to see more of the critters without having to walk the whole grounds. The restaurant looks fantastic and there is a decent selection of treats as well as ice cream. There is ample parking but if you come on the weekend you may have to park on the street as they are so popular they can get busy. Despite their popularity we only had to wait a few moments in line even at peak times. All in all a very worthwhile trip.

I cannot begin to describe how wonderful my experience was at Lester's Farm Chalet. Thank you a million times over Farmer Jim , Lucille and Sam. You made Sebastian's birthday party the event of the season. From sliding to horse back riding to tractor rides and the petting farm, this day will be remembered forever! The food was out of this world and the service was beyond spectacular. We even decorated hot homemade chocolate chip cookies and had a dance party! You made us feel so welcomed. We had the best Jiggs dinner & turkey at Lester’s Farm Chalet, Sunday Sept 27th. They were extremely busy. We were so happy to see them thriving in this troubled economy due to COVID. WHILE THE STAFF WERE RUN Off THEIR FEET, THEY WERE STILL SMILING AND FRIENDLY. If you want a fabulous home cooked meal, this is the place for you. The fresh vegetables were outstanding. Celebrated my mom's 87th birthday today at the petting farm, and as a special surprise Farmer Jim brought her into the chicken coop and let her collect some freshly laid eggs like she used to do when she was a little girl at her home. She was so excited and had such a fun time, as did we watching her❤ The extra special touch of letting her keep a dozen of the eggs she collected as a birthday gift, was such an incredibly kind and sweet gesture of Farmer Jim. Thank you so much for playing a part in making this birthday so special for her this year, we truly cherish every year we still have with our precious Mama ❤❤❤

We had takeout jiggs/turkey dinners last Sunday and were blown away by the food. The portions were extremely generous, everything was insanely tasty, and there was nothing overlooked, even a dinner roll and butter, mustard pickles and cranberry sauce, as well as side gravies, and a packet with cutlery, napkin, and salt and pepper were provided. It was piping hot and amazing value for the money. Highly recommend!

We went for Valentines dinner. The food was delicious. There was prime rib, mushrooms, bacon wrapped scallops, peppers, mashed potatoes and asparagus. Very tasty. The staff were also very attentive to our needs. Lastly we enjoyed the sleigh ride with our guide Farmer Jim. He was great at telling stories and had us in stitches several tome. Great food. Great atmosphere.

Attended 3 birthday parties at the Chalet this month and each time the animals were in small crowded stalls, and all were unkept, itchy,many with manure stuck to their fur. Their stalls were not fresh and all had brown dirty water. Some of the animals were outside however, it seems as though the animals in the stalls do not have access to turnout? I maybe wrong but after 3 visits and tours of the grounds there didn't appear to be turnout for the animals kept in the barn. ????

Absolutely amazing place for kids. Lots of animals for kids to feed. Staff is amazing. Was speaking with one of the owners and she was awesome. We finished just after closing and got a banana split to share with our daughter and the owner was so kind and sweet. Can't wait to go back.

Visited the farm with my family for Boxing Day brunch and I have to say it was fabulous! Food was hot, staff were friendly, the room was cozy and beautifully decorated. The selection of food was great. The toutons were to die for! Went to the barn after brunch to visit the animals, they all looked very comfortable and well taken care of. The chickens were especially nice! Will be back again!

The petting zoo is so great! A real farm experience where you can get close to the animals. My 18 month old son loved seeing the chickens running around and feeding the donkeys and the pony. The rabbits are also so cute. We went on a sleigh ride in the winter that was a lovely experience and the cookies they served after were delicious.

Had a Boxing Day “brunch” at Lester’s Farm Chalet. Was not actually brunch, it was a really bad breakfast buffet. If there was food in the pans it was cold or overcooked, was hard to actually get food as things were not actually restocked, coffee was usually empty. There was not any service, we had to get everything ourselves, coffee, juice, water and food. No one ever came to the table. We had to pay the bill with a gratuity added, in advance. The price is way out of line. I’ve had better free breakfasts in hotels. Don’t waste your money here.

LOVE LESTERS, the animals are so friendly and affectionate! The staff and farmers are so nice and informative, we learned so much about the horses. After visit the barn and wagon ride, we had the grilled cheese with homefries, YUM. The staff is very unprofessional and seems like they don't enjoy your presence when there. It looked as if the worker driving the tractor was sniffing something while driving, maybe I was mistaken but not sure what else he could've been doing with a bill in his nose.
