I wanted to thank Josh and Boulder Ridge for rehoming my peacock slider ???? for me and I am happy ????knowing I can go there to visit her..Josh was very helpful and let me see her new home and her new turtle friends

Karina Munoz

Great little animal! The prices to get in and at the gift shop were reasonable. The employees were all friendly. Many animals to see. A nice little drive on the safari bus to see more of the animals. Loved it.

Tiffany M.

While it is fairly obvious to me, they are just a beginning "zoo", others there seemed to be impressed. Most displays are pretty small and not well "decorated". You are able to get fairly close to most small animals so you are able to look closely at the animals. Will I take my soon to be born great grandchild there in a couple years? You bet. I will also try to take he/she to much larger zoos when he/she is older so animals can be seen in more natural settings. No I don't know the gender of my grandchild to be born in October, and my granddaughter is being very tight lipped about it. Works for me. I like surprises.

Dan Hodges

I didn't realize what a great place this was until I visited it yesterday. What a complement to the Grand Rapids' area to have John Ball Zoo and Boulder Ridge Wild Animal Park in the same county! The plus at Boulder Ridge is that you can get closer to the animals in a more intimate space.

Loved all the animals. Great variety. They were well taken care of. Clean place and friendly staff.

Linda Fettig

Great park. You can walk about and see some of the animals and you can ride a bus with a guide and see some more. Great for kids. They have animal food that you can purchase and feed the animals.

Shawna Conley

This zoo is the cleanest zoo I have ever been too. They may be on the smaller side, but it is very family friendly. They have lots of animals you can pet and feed, and you can see some cool animals on the safari ride. My daughter is in a wheelchair and she can get to every area in the zoo no problem, and even right up to the animals to feed and pet.

Jenna Strong

There's a lot to go through here so positives and negatives are organized into lists. +Good animal variety +can feed/pet animals +It's labeled when you can't feed/pet +You can bring your own food +lots of pavilions/sitting areas +animals are well taken care of +animals are pretty active +Clean bathrooms +They are expanding -Crowded -congested in feeding/waiting areas -Safari speakers have too much treble -Safari seats are packed in too tight -not enough room for safari queue -Price is a little high for this size zoo

Beautiful park. The animals are beautiful. The Giraffes are amazing ❤????????????????????????????????????????

We spent about 3 hours here. The kids and I loved feeding the animals as well as going in the bus tour to see others. I recommend bringing water and snacks. A sack lunch would be perfect for the trip. Also bring money to feed the animals, food for them is not included in the ticket price. Ok

I absolutely loved this park. I loved the Flamingos. And all the different kinds of monkeys. And so much more. We will definitely be back

Awesome little zoo. Clean and easy to navigate. Impressed with the variety of animals and the amount of animals you could feed and pet. Enjoyed the safari ride. Big enough to enjoy but small enough to not be exhausted walking around in. Highly recommend!

Very cool place. Totally worth the price and looks like they are expanding soon too.

Loved it. So much fun. Even in 90 degree weather. The mister fans help alot.

Highly reccomend visiting Boulder Ridge. We took our 4 year old granddaughter there this summer, she totally loved it. Good size for young ones, not too overwhelming. Giraffe feeding is a must. They offer a nice "safari" like ride. Great way to spend an afternoon.

Tanesha Washington

What a fun unique experience! So many different active animals to see.

Alot of new exhibits! And more to come!! We went on cool 53 degree day. All the animals were out!! It was a great day! Definitely a place to check out!!

John Krueger

My whole family LOVED this visit! Can't wait to come back!

I honestly wish I could give minus stars. The cages are way. To. Small., they're dirty, there is no passion or love or at least what has to be for the environment in the cages. The reptiles literally broke my heart. I don't know how you can sleep at nights knowing that this place is nothing but suffering. I also don't get any of the good ratings here. This is animal cruelty. This was planned for a family trip and it turned out to be horrible.

We drive a little over an hour to go! Every year it continues to expand and become greater than the year before. They continue to surprise me. It is the most hands on zoo I have ever been too. Soooo clean, so fun, and well worth the trip ! I can't get enough of how wonderful the animals are taken care of! Me and my kids LOVE this place. Good job ???? boulder!!!

I'm an Annual Passholder at Disney a d always doe their animal safari. While this on is different it was very educational and enjoyable. I'd heard about WAP and it exceeded my expectations. Immaculately clean and the staff was super friendly. Definitely a place to spend some great family time.

Must see zoo. Animals are not spaced to far apart so there is not a lot of walking in between animals. Good for people that can't walk long distance. Bus ride to see the other animals was fun as well. Very informational.

Stephen Thwaites

Great place for a half-day to introduce or build an awareness of all sorts of animals. They all looked happy and healthy, and the staff was very friendly.

Justin Peck (JPeck)

We are a family of six with all little ones under 4 and we had an amazing time. We loved the layout, feeding the animals, the free bus ride, and the variety of animals they have. The park is noticeably updated and very well maintained. The only suggestion is an eatery or snackbar of some kind. There are pop/water vending machines. The also have plenty of picnic tables for you to eat your own food at or too just get some shade.

Nicest hands on zoo EVER! We fed camels, giraffes, alligators, birds, antelope, and more! Then we took a ride on the trolly train and saw more animals. Super cool!

Tony Felder

The animals are great, and honestly in my opinion, the Parakeet aviary is the park highlight for me. I love birds, and if you are a bird lover, you're gonna love this place. Lots of beautiful birds here.

Nichole Leigh

Small enough for small kids. Great animal interaction experiences. Bring small bills to buy feed for the parakeets, goats and giraffes. Definitely feed the Animals! Rock mining is $5, $10 or $25 dollars. Very Very limited people food in the park but picnic ing is allowed. Park entry fees are more than fair and feasible for a family if 4. There is some good photo opportunities.

Al

Love going here with the kiddos. It's the perfect size zoo where your not walking for hours up and down hills. It's all flat and very clean.

Gwendolyn Higby

This zoo is pretty great in one aspect because of the close contact you're able to experience with some of the animals and birds. On a personal emotion/note, I struggle with coming to this zoo because it's purely for paid entertainment purpose and not much to do with research, rescue and rehabilitation or animals that need a safe place due to a disability that keeps them from going back into the wild. I'm not a fan of captivity for money so I doubt I will visit again anytime soon. This information was provided through me asking questions to a staff member.

COMEBACK FORME

Amazing place where the kids can go right up to the animals and feed and pet them

Tawny Last

Took our daughters there for a family day. A lot of animals were out, and we were able to take the bus ride around the rest of the park you can't walk around. One of my favorite "zoos" in our state that I have visited! More interactive with animals and are able to get up close and personal.

Jessica Ganic

I have nothing but good to say about this establishment! The staff are friendly, and went out of their way to accommodate our special needs! The animals appeared content and happy in their habitats, the safari ride was very cool and there is lots of covered seating area to have lunch, I did not see where they offered lunch, if they do. There are wide walkways to be able to stop and look without others walking past to be pushing on you. I am told this is a family run business and it is well worth the trip!!!

Amy

We come here quite often and each time is enjoyable. They do a great job of hosting a variety of special events during the year. Like baby animal days- LOVE. We enjoy the up close ability to see wildlife and feed several of their animals.

Best zoo I've been to in Michigan. I liked seeing the rhinos

Jeanice Sylvester

This is a great place to take the family. It is a very well done private zoo. It's got plenty of animals to see, including giraffes and kangaroos; and the kids will love it. You can feed and/or pet several of the animals too. Also, it's not a huge place, so the whole experience will not wear you out. We get the membership every year. It's a great place to take the family, and they allow outside food, and even have a good-sized picnic area with tables.

Heather Pline

Cute little zoo! Small but tons to see. Easy to walk around, very close up encounters, very clean. Definitely recommend!

DavidIsobellaSarah

What a cute little zoo! We went around noon Saturday, it wasn't too busy and there were so many animals to see! We loved that you could see the animals up close, and every single exhibit had the animals visible. Lots of interactive exhibits which is great for little ones. Our kids enjoyed the Safari ride, and the giraffes were a definite highlight! We all loved it and will definitely return!

Michael J

Great for the kids and a good variety of different animals to see! Would recommend.

Wendy Orr

Beautiful place and animals! Very fun to feed all the animals. The Safari Ride is always fun! Looking forward to seeing the results of all the new construction to be completed.

Michelle Beyer

Love the hands on feel here, feeding the animals was so much fun for my kids, we will definitely be back!

Jackie Mcsorley

We had a blast!! The kids loved feeding the birds and the giraffes and panning for treasures! ....so much fun!! The safari ride was informative and relaxing!! I would highly recommend this to all families looking for a little adventure!!

brandy thompson

This place is wonderful. It's clean, the animals look healthy, and the safari ride is very fun (especially in the spring with all the baby animals!). There's a lot of variety and it's not too big so you're not overwhelmed. Very cool place.

Jen T

Great place. So glad my daughter found this wildlife exhibit. So much space for animals and So cool to see natural reproduction and all of the baby animals. Nature at its best!

Brittany foxsinsox

The place was VERY busy with the Super Hero and Princess event but it was enjoyable none the less.

Jeremy Andrews

Smaller, but intimate. Great for families! A lot of exotic animals including Crocs, ostriches, water buffalo, and more. The owners were breeders previous to opening the park. Seems like the animals are well-kept. The Safari tour was exciting as well, giving all guests the opportunity to see other animals that you could not see while walking the park. There's also feeding giraffes and other animals.

Travis Shivley

We had a great family day at Boulder Ridge. My daughter loved following the clues as a Jr. Detective and mining for gems and treasure. Feeding the giraffes and the other animals is another favorite part of the trip. It's not a huge place, but has a wide variety of animals and is well kept up.

Alyssa Stewart

Very cute little zoo! So nice that all the animals are relatively close together so my littles could see everything without complaining about being tired from walking. We will definitely return

Joey Symonds

One of the best zoo's we've been to!

David McCall

What an amazing place! My son asked me to give a review because he wanted to support this park. The staff are very friendly and informed. One of the workers gave us great insight into the uniqueness of the animals. One of kangaroos would let me pet it and then it tried to box me. The staff informed that it is an aggressive female but is very friendly. That was helpful to know. : ) Also, the Animal Encounter is worth it! We were able to see up close three different animals and pet them. There was a 1-year old in our group and it was so funny to see how the baby reacted to the fox, kangaroo and lizard.

Andres Sampedro

My husband and I had heard of Boulder Ridge Wild Animal Park and visited today to see if it would be a place to take the grandkiddos. We will definitely be back with our 3 grands. We loved how up close and personal we were with all of the animals and it was exhibit after exhibit in close proximity. Really great experience.

Andrew Dombrowski

2nd trip out here. Came for the baby animals werkend, love that you get to pet them! It's quite the hall from metro Detroit but worth it!

Janelle Coyne

Wonderful, family friendly zoo with a huge variety of unique animal species. The only downside sides are that the membership is pricey and the do not have a reciprocal agreement with any AAZA zoos or aquariums.

Nice zoo and love how the animals come up to you to feed, however too many people are allowed in for the amount of area.

Shannon Nachtmann

We love this Park!! Perfect size to get through with smaller kids and interactive animal exhibits!

Tiffany Rop

Got little ones an they loved it ???? they have a feeding station with animals an a bus ride a little train an super cheep

Brad Noviskey

What a great place to stop off in mid-Michigan. There's a great selection of animals you may not have seen before and grounds are well maintained. There's the opportunity to feed some of the animals by hand, including the giraffes! The people there are very nice too. Wonderful place for all ages to see wildlife up close.

Jim

This is one of the nicest animal parks youll find...just big enough to fill most of a day trip and you can see EVERYTHING!...feed the giraffes, you wont regret it!!!

Donald McArthur

Very worth it. Lot's of incredible animals that you don't see at most places. It may be a little more than a regular zoo, but it's worth it. Get to be super close to the animals. Great place to go.

Carol Brown

Always a great family experience:) get up close with several of the animals.

Lori “McDonough” B

This place is a must visit. My 3 year old son had the best time! It was so cool to be able to pet and feed such a wide variety of animals. Feeding the giraffe was my son's favorite part. It was really awesome getting to stand so close to one. The parakeet area was also very cool.

Lora Sandberg

It's a perfect outing for our young boys. We don't last very long. I also appreciate that my kids are feeding the animals vegetables instead of something that resembles dog food. ????

Cassandra Linklater

The small park doesn't make the admission price feel worth it. But their mission does. It's great to see how many animals they have. The exterior is immaculate. A really clean park, but a lot of their exhibits especially any glass enclosures are not very well kept.

Imagine a large petting zoo with other fun animals to see. Excellent for kids 2-12. Lots of options to feed animals, enough of them it's not crowded. Prices reasonable. Giraffes are very close which is awesome! The safari was a nice touch too. The staff were all very kind. Would go back with kids, probably not just us adults though.

My toddler absolutely LOVES this animal park. Animals are well taken care of and seem happy/comfortable. There are large open areas for most animals and the bus tour was his favorite part of the park! Feeding the giraffes and other animals was a blast as well! They also have a place to go in and feed/visit with birds. Gift shop was large and had lots of options! Only thing that was missing was some sort of food/drink stand. Would definitely recommend going here ESPECIALLY with children under 12.

CP 2016

What a fun place to take my daughters and my 96 year old Grandma. Every one had a great time.

Ashley Hoke

Had a great experience here today! Very clean and beautiful exhibits. Wide variety of animals. We did spend 30 minutes standing in line and waiting for our food but everything else was great! They have slushies, fountain pop, corn dogs, hot dogs, french fries, onion rings, etc. You can feed parakeets from a stick 3 for $5. A cup of carrots $5 dollars. A cup of lettuce $1. Lots of cool stuff in the gift shop. Will definitely go again!

I had a great time. It was little smaller than I originally thought. Feeding the animals was really fun, especially the birds. Not too crowded.

Tom U

Fabulous, clean, fun for all ages! Safari ride, playground area, picnic area, and gift shop.

James 117

Great zoo, well contained so it's easy to keep an eye on the little kids while giving them a little freedom to explore. Animal feeding is so fun for everyone and the bus tour to see the breeding stock along with the story of how the park started is very interesting.

Day Tripper

PLEASE make more space for your camels, lamas, donkeys and goats. It's hard to see them in such mucky, small living spaces.

Nangua

Had high hopes for this Zoo... Looks very new but lots of cages very little habitats and not set up for beautiful animal photography at all. Still building, we might check back in a few years.. Till then there are better zoos closer to us to visit. Very small and expensive.. No food at all.. Make sure to pack a picnic. Nothing even close to buy if you are hungry. Expensive admission for the size.

Jason Boone

They have a wide variety of animals, but the enclosures are not kept very clean and some of the reptiles had no substrate in their enclosures at all. The Asian Otters are in a small enclosure with a dirty pool that was very small.

Matt Biek

Man what a fun place. Tucked in out of the way, smaller park. The claim to Fame is being able to get so close and feed so many wonderful animals. If it eats lettuce or carrots you can get pretty up close.

Alex 6

The best "zoo" in the Grand Rapids area. We easily spend at least two hours here each visit. We feed each and every possible animal. Usually we buy two cups of carrots and that seems to last us long enough to make the kids happy. The tram is a nice little break as well from the hot sun. All in all HIGHLY recommend over the other choices.

Michele Dahl

Fun little zoo. Geared toward kids because of how close you get to the animals. It is clean and well kept. My only criticism is about the Safari area of the zoo. The bus ride, in particular, was a little cramped for anyone over the age of 18 and the fumes from the diesel exhaust made me a little sick to my stomach. Ditch the bus and let people walk the Safari.

Mindy Maxwell Tape

Easy access, no stairs like the Zoo in grand Rapids, all the animals are easily seen and have large habitats.

Adam Longoria

Really cool zoo set in the middle of nowhere. Plenty of variety for animals. Walk in aviary, safari tour, and many animals you can get up close to and even pet if you want. I came here for a birthday party for my young cousin, and even I, had as much fun as any child there. The animals even seem happy, which is important to look at when it comes to zoos. Overall, this is a fun place, with plenty to see and explore.

Layle

Great place for a half-day to introduce or build an awareness of all sorts of animals. They all looked happy and healthy, and the staff was very friendly.

Stephanie Quinton

Great gem in Alto. Newer Zoo, lots of animals. Our favorites were the very active lemers, squirrel monkies, zebras and lynx. We also loved feeding the parakeets(1 seed stick kept us entertained and the ???? interested for a good 15-20min.). Very clean walkways & restrooms, nice penny press machine, good working misting fans, reasonably priced entrance fee, concessions and gift shop. They also have a safari tour to learn more about the zoo & see the animals you can't walk to. We'll definitely go back. A great change of pace from typically overcrowded John Ball Zoo & Binder Park Zoo.

Excellent Animal Park! Very nice and clean!

I'm iffy on the ideas of zoos in general, but this was the best zoo experience I've ever had. All of the animals were obviously happy and well taken care of. The habitats were large and included places to get out of the sun and away from guests. There were creative uses of space and although it was busy, it was easy to stay 6 feet from other visitors. The only (slight) downside was how expensive the drinks at the concession stand were, but that's to be expected of any public attraction. The staff seemed to be happy, also; there was one person by the rhinos who was sharing info about the park. It turned out to be an off-work employee that loves it so much he's there on his own time. Lastly, the gift shop was fun and pretty reasonably priced.

Amanda

I absolutely love this place! The price is great! My daughter loves how close you can get to the animals and the interaction with the birds. We always pack a lunch and enjoy having a picnic whixh you can do inside at the picnic tables or outside of the park around the pond. I highly recommend Boulder ridge to enjoy a fun filled day with family and friends! Even going multiple times a year is a new experience everytime!

Small, doesn’t take the best care of their animals, and I haven’t heard of any conservation efforts on their part. There are much better Zoos in West Michigan. I’d recommend driving a little further to JBZ or Binder Park for a way better experience for the same price; it’s difficult for me to support a facility filled with such sad animals. This place is less a professional zoo and more someones’s collection of wild pets.

Elijah B

Small, but nice park with a little safari ride (animals are enclosures). The prairie dog exhibit is cute. The staff is really nice. It looks like they are building more to expand.

The best place to go with the family they have garrafa that walk up to you and other cute animals

I'm not a fan of zoos for the most part other than a true conservation aspect but, this place was a small well kept spot that my granddaughter absolutely loved. She loved seeing animals she had never heard of before and learning more about them. The staff was friendly and helpful. I'd reccomend it

Kathy W

This is a very nice, clean, and kid friendly park. Plenty of hand sanitizer to use, at almost each attraction. This is the first time I have seen giraffes that close! It was amazing!! They had carrots and lettuce for purchase to feed the animals. There was a food truck on site that off snacks, slushies, cotton candy, ice cream, nachos, and a doggie treats. It was a great experience, especially the drive thru safari! It was a really hot day and they had cooling stations, fans spraying water to help cool down everyone, this is a nice touch for everyone.

Lyanna Moore

I really enjoyed this park. It was awesome!!

Aaron Perry

Great experience for little ones to see a variety of animals. Not thrilled about the conditions some of the animals live in, but it is a send off spot for most ,I hope. Great place all and all

Big Ger

It's a great park. Good for kids of all ages. Lots of hands on feeding. Good information about animals. Have some different things you don't normally see at your typical zoo.

Amber Barton

Amazing zoo and clean animals. However, the zoo operators don't care about social distancing at all. It was packed, people very close and most of them not wearing masks. I won't visit until I make sure it's safer for my family.

Benna Joy

It was a great little zoo, you get to feed the animals, for a lot of extra $ of course, but the animals have been conditioned to come to the food, so it's worth it to feed the giraffes alone.

Average Dad Outdoors

Boulder Ridge is known as one of the hidden gems of West Michigan for a reason. From small spiders, frogs, monkeys, and baby alligators, to large snakes, ostriches, adult alligators and giraffes! Walk into the screened in area with inquisitive birds, it's an experience you won't forget, same goes for the safari themed bus tour. There really is something for everyone here! Feed the animals for a minimal charge... its worth it! Parking might be challenging, but don't let the crowded parking discourage you. The grounds feature some rides, plenty of tables under covered spaces for a picnic lunch, and is nicely spaced out and easy to come back to animal exhibits that might have been too busy at the time. Boulder Ridge is ultimately a place to enjoy with your family, and appreciate nature from all over the world. Edit 5/12/20 - I wish I could add more stars to this review now that the owners have decided to open up, despite the governor and her continued overreach and orders on American citizens and business owners. I hope more business owners see what you are doing and follow your lead. Thank you!

Kathy

A great place for kids & adults to interact with the animals! Feed the giraffes, camels, alligators, goats and more. For 5.00 you can buy a cup with lettuce or carrots. Or for 2.00 you buy a popsicle stick with bird seed on it & parakeets will eat off your stick. My granddaughter was scared at first, but quickly started to get excited when a parakeet landed on her stick. They also have a bus ride that takes you around the property to look at more exotic animals. We had a great time!

Overall, amazing experience. We got to see most of the animals close up, and my kids thoroughly enjoyed themselves. The safari ride was also very cool and informative. Staff were friendly and it was easy to navigate through the park with our stroller.

Kyle Bultman

The kids had a great time here. There's a free safari ride included with admission. The park was clean. None of the animals looked distressed or dying like at other zoo's I've been to. Parking is free.

Gabrielle Yadlosky

Love Boulder Ridge always have the best time.

nathan stockbridge

Such a great experience. Love supporting a small family owned zoo and happy to see improvements and additions each year.

Stefanie Selby

Good place to go with the kiddos and even for an adventure for the wildlife! I appreciate that the safari ride is included in the pricing! I give it four stars because I feel the place is a little cramped.. all the enclosures are pretty close together so it makes it a little tough to stand and enjoy because there are strollers and other groups trying to come passed! I loved being able to feed 90% of the wildlife there and I love the interaction with the animals ! Highly recommend if you can look passed the cramped-ness!!! :)

Karen Magoon

beautiful little wild animal park. incredibly well done. clean, clean, clean,!! feeding the giraffes is wonderful, feeding the llamas and goats and yaks, and cow and donkey, birds was very fun. Entrance fee $28 for two seniors. lettuce and carrots $5, bird sticks $2. Best $25 I've ever spent at a "zoo". People food very reasonably priced. Only spent about 1.5 hours there but it was SOooo worth it. This is a hidden gem!!!

Bright Chance

Love taking the kids here at the beginning of summer. Brought lunch with us and had a picnic day at the zoo. One of the best zoo's in the area. The highlight of the trip is the bus tour around the zoo. Will not be disappointed.

Melinda Schuitema

We stopped here on a whim and arrived as they were opening, which is probably the best time to get there. Boulder Park has an amazing variety of birds, reptiles and mammals to see. They appear to be very well cared for. The safari ride was very cool. The gift shop was nice too.

E Martinez

This was without a doubt the best zoo I've ever been to. Everything was very interactive. The animals were all up close and easy to see. They had different animals that I've never seen at any other zoo. It was a great experience and a fun time. I'm so glad we went!

Gage Mitchell

This is a hidden gem! Definitely worth the drive. Great value. Clean, well organized. Very nice place to spend an afternoon. Will definitely go back!

Timothy Brown

This year was my frist time visiting, and it was just amazing my kids loved it. They had many animals to see and not at all boring. We went when the zoo hosted a Halloween event and it was $9 per person adult/child, and 2 under free..... Would definitely return next year to visit...

Melissa Verner

The kids enjoy going here over any zoo we've been to. They have a full gamut of animals and reptiles. The park is very clean and seems to be well run. Along with all of the animals you can walk around and see they offer a neat bus tour of the outer portions of the park.

Kristin Goshorn

This place is awesome! The people are so nice and the animals are well taken care of! If you have the time, you MUST plan a trip to Alto!

Michael Wendling

The best animal park! They take great care of the animals and you can tell they really take pride in what they do. The safari ride is pretty cool. My girls love the bird house and feeding the giraffes.

Great place! My kids love how they can pet and feed a variety of animals. Small compared to other places, but a much better experience overall.

Erin Spaanstra

Staff was very nice. Multiple feeding stations for a lot of animals that you can feed. Very close and personal experience with a lot of the animals. The safari ride was very nice, especially if your looking to sit down and still see animal's. There is a miners bag you can purchase and sluce dirt for various rocks and crystals. For a smaller operated zoo/sanctuary I would recommend anyone check it out.

Amanda Wells

They’ve done a really nice job expanding their wildlife breeding operations into a zoo. There’s also interactive experiences with feeding giraffes and camels, etc.

Susan Leedle

First time for our son and family to go with us to Boulder Ridge Zoo and my granddaughters who are two and five had so much fun feeding the animals especially the giraffe's. They also thought the bus ride on the safari

Caleb Brase

It was awesome being up close to the animals. Feeding and petting the animals was a great experience

Emma W

This is the best zoo ever, it has many animals that other zoo's do not have. This zoo has exhibits where you can pet and feed animals that you would not be able to at other zoo's. My favorite part about this zoo is the bird exhibit, you can stand in. The bird exhibit and hold a popsicle stick with bird food on it and the birds will fly up and sit on your had and eat it. This zoo is amazing! I was very pleased with my visit.????

Gregory LaJoye

Great variety of wildlife, well maintained property. Staff were great. Entertainment for the whole family. Good overall experience.

Jason Pirok

The park is beautiful, clean and easy to get around with strollers, wagons, etc. My kids love feeding the giraffes and getting up close with the animals!

Brenden Swenk

Very cool, clean and updated venue to experience wildlife. Fun and friendly staff!

Tegan Fletcher

Love this place smaller then the big packed zoos. Great for younger kids.

Brian Thomas

This zoo is aimed towards families and smaller children - lots of young children running around and screaming. Cages looked very small for all the large animals, which was upsetting. The parakeet exhibit made the experience worth the noisiness of the children, though. It was fun to have the parakeets sit on you and feed them.

Joseph Mugen

Very nice zoo, the animals are healthy and looks to be well kept.

Bendr_Bones

The exhibits are such that you can get up close and personal. The safari ride was fun and informative. We had such a good time yesterday we are going again today. It was clean and the staff was friendly. Plenty of spots to rest and enjoy your own picnic.

Ryan Hansen

Clean environment, friendly staff, easy to get around, a lot of unique animals to see, and love the safari ride!! Easy and fun with small kids. Will be coming back again and again!

Janet Regan

Our family loves Boulder Ridge! We spend quite a bit of time there each summer, and our kids never get tired of it. It is a neat and clean park, and the animals are nice and close so little ones can see them well. We also love that we can bring a picnic lunch with us to enjoy while in the park. Great place for families!

Nice safari ride with antelope.... Good if you wanna see birds and common animals. They have some giraffes, lemurs, and spider monkeys. Not worth the actual zoo prices they charge.

Bryan Wessel, Jr.

Our family LOVES this zoo! Best part they say is feeding the giraffe.

Just as many if not more animals as a large zoo but you are more up close to the animals and you can feed some including alligators, camels, and giraffes.

Jake Thompson

Fabulous place to see animals close up, with minimal walking. Great for all ages! Feed giraffes, goats, and much more. From reptiles, to alligators, to mandrill monkeys, and kangaroos, its a wonderful place! A large bus takes you on a "safari" where you see many animals roaming on the grounds. A wide variety of animals too! Nice gift shop and picnic area. Hoping that some day they will have meals and snacks available to purchase.

Sawyer Crum

Great place for kids and adults alike. Feeding the giraffe and other animals was the fun part.

Ken Katerberg

I enjoyed my trip, but be cautious because during my visit in October 2021 the whole place was infested with mites. I killed at least 30 that were crawling on my arms and biting me. My entire group of 15 had the same experience. Its a nice place to visit, but don't bring fleas and mites home to your pets. You may be fine if you apply a bug spay when you go.

Lisa Gleason

So cool. Sunday afternoon there weren't tons of people. The displays were spaced and clean. The bus ride was very informative and comfortable. Animals all looked well cared for. The hands on feeding was fun for everyone and the gift shop had a nice variety of things for all.

Grace Buck

Kids keep asking to go back.. We go here every summer. Had a good time at the park each time we visited and there was plenty of hand sanitizer. Only downfall was that we saw the management treating the workers horribly on several occasions. Blonde 30 something with management shirt did not care about the animals either, which left a bad taste for my family.

Alaina Kamer

I visited the park yesterday with my 4 yr old grandson for the first time. We both enjoyed it. Feeding the giraffes was fun, the animals seemed to like the human interaction as well. The only things keeping me from rating this a five star place would be the reptile house. There were a great deal of fingerprints and dirty hand prints on the lower portion of the windows making it unsanitary for toddlers, small children. It was difficult for my grandson to see the animals inside without me lifting him up as well. Maybe these could be cleaned by staff several times a day? We were there late morning, so not like it was late in the day. It also would have been nice to see staff in the reptile house watching things. I saw tempting barriers for kids to jump to get closer to the turtles. I also saw a huge safety issue with the outdoor play area. It is neat that the animal statues were there to climb on, but the metal elephant statue had tusks that pointed up. There was a young boy standing on it and parents were taking pictures. It wouldn't have taken much for him to fall and get hurt on the tusks. It would be nice if that area had a cover over it to protect the statues from getting too hot from the sun.

Amazing zoo. Incredibly professional staff. Not enough adjectives in the book to describe this place. Not too pricey and visitors are able to bring their own food & water. Each trip is a new adventure.

Micah Plimpton

Super fun family friendly experience! Boulder Ridge Animal Park has many endangered animals from reptiles, birds and mammals and is packed full of new surprises around every corner. Kids loved feeding the giraffes and especially going inside the parakeet exhibit. The safari ride was a pleasant addition and completed the fun!

Anthony DeGraff

Loved the set up. Feeding animals as well as the safari to see the larger animals are the main attractions. The alligator area is also awesome! Kid friendly and lots to see.

Julianne Lemmink

Love taking the kids here they always have so much fun. People are friendly the animals are up close and personal my youngest loves the bus ride for the animals out back. Took some family friends there for their first trip they were in love. Lots of animals to see with a small time location

Mark Wiese

The only good thing about this zoo is how you can be up and close with the animals. But they are always way to packed can't even walk without hitting someone.

Marie Ogle

Great day at the zoo, lots of animals, friendly staff, lots of shade, and the bus tour around to the other animals is free. We really enjoyed our time here.

Kitty Panther

Wonderful for small kids! Animals are easy to spot, and you can see the whole place in less than two hours. If you go on a week day crowds won't be as big an issue. Friendly staff.

Sara Rabidoux

Awesome, unique zoo. Not as big as other zoos but tons of cool animals. You can feed many of them.

This is an absolute must visit. It's not very big but it is defiantly a good place to visit.

Great place to visit! You can even pack a lunch and sit in the shade under the pavilion to eat. Feeding the giraffes and other animals was definitely a highlight. Staff was very pleasant and the zoo was really clean.

Allison S

Loved it! The animals were all out and active today. It was so fun to see all the families with little kids getting to experience the animals up close!

Christopher Goggans

Took our kids here and it was wonderful! We did go on baby weekend which is completely recommended! The safari ride was great! We can not wait to go back!

Chris VanBelle

My boys enjoyed all the different animals. Feeding the birds and alligators were my kids favorite things to do here. It was very clean. The park was a little small but we still had a lot of fun and send a couple hours here.

Ziggy J

It definitely is a WAP not a zoo. My kids enjoyed see all the well kept animals. My wife enjoyed the giraffes. They're putting up a bunch of new building, it going to look real nice! The food court is brand new and they have a bathroom attached to it. The map is a little outdated but I think they just started the new building this year. The Safari ride was a nice break with the kids. We all enjoyed the park. Thanks

Jakob Gohlke

We LOVE this zoo normally. We have recommended it to others, and still will. However, we did not feel comfortable there over the weekend. Masks are not required, and almost nobody was wearing them. It doesn’t seem like they are limiting how many people are allowed in because it was very busy, making it impossible to social distance. We were also only able to see half of the zoo because to see the other half, you have to take the tram which they were packing with people (again, not wearing masks) and we did not see them sanitizing the tram. We asked about walking the other half, but that’s not an option at this time. I will say, they had tons of hand sanitizer around though! During normal times, this zoo is a lot of fun, you get to see animals up close, and it’s very interactive with all the feeding! I look forward to going again when it’s safer.

L D (LacedInExcess)

Boulder Ridge is a little pricey, but for a once a year trip, its a good trip. Compared to John Ball Zoo, its significantly smaller - but it has mostly animals that cannot be seen at JBZ. The other main difference is being able to feed some of the animals [crocodiles, birds, goats, kangaroos and giraffes] - this addition makes the Animal Park feel like a very small Binder Park Zoo, but doesn't require a full day investment. Boulder Ridge can be completed in a couple hours and still feel like you saw a decent amount of animals.

Kelsey

Nice family place. Bus tour included around the back of the park. The Juan's bird show was entertaining.

Kelly Williams

A really great time! Really hands on with the non dangerous animals! My favorite was feeding the camels and giraffes. Kinda sad it was so small. I felt a lil underwhelmed by the bus tour. Maybe if there was a live guide?!?

Brian R (NaturalMagic)

Wow. What a hidden gem. Loved this place! Not a large as other zoos but large variety on animals and you can get really close to a few. The giraffes had a lot of personality and the "safari" was fun. It's a "good weather" zoo, no real buildings, pretty much all outside.

Gretchen Barendse

Very clean zoo that was seemingly well maintained. Had a lot of interesting animals, but most of them are birds. Rare and cool birds, though. The thing we really didn’t like at all was that you have to ride a crowded bus to see about half of the zoo. Most of the animals were on the side we weren’t sitting on. They won’t let you walk to see those animals, which I don’t get why. It looked very walkable. We would’ve liked it a LOT better if you could have walked it. The actual part you can walk is pretty small. Seeing the baby giraffe was fun.

Katie Spencer

My daughter and I had a fantastic experience. This Zoo , animal park is clean and well organized. It is perfect for half day trip. You can get much closer to the animals than a normal zoo. I really enjoyed how well it was laid out. It has a much smaller foot print than large sprawling zoo's making great for family's with small children or for anyone who has mobility issues. Dont worry about " is there anything to see?" Yes I was suprized at how many quality animals we were able to see. Well run and friendly. We also met the park manager Josh. He was kind and helpful giving us great tips on what to see. Check this little gem out. You may end up buying a season pass and coming back again and again.

Kathy Richardson

Such a great time! Make sure to bring cash to buy food cups to feed the animals!

Ms Keyes

There is a large variety of animals and some of them you can feed. There are a couple booths where you can buy carrot sticks, lettuce leaves, and bird seed on a stick to feed the animals. Just be careful when feeding the birds. I found out the yellow birds like the taste of sweat and will bite at your skin. There is a bus you can get on for free that takes you on a tour of even more animals. The whole family had a great time.

Awesome place! Such a fun day! The bird show was funny and very cool! The safari ride was pretty cool as well! Love that you can feed so many of the animals. I also thought its was pretty cool you can bring in your own food and have lunch or something. By far one of the coolest zoos I have ever been to! We will be back!

Benjamin Crockett (Naroghin)

Fantastic visit today, all the animals were out, this place beats John ball zoo for the price. We go atleast 3 times a year. I love both parks and but when the kids speak they want boulder ridge. Wish they had beer though for the adults. I love the safari ride it's free, they have been building new stuff this year can't wait. I support local private zoos.

Bethany Scurlock

An annual tradition with the grandkiddos. Clean; animals well cared for. Friendly & knowledgeable staff. Highly recommend it!

Laura Lee

Amazing place overall! Nice, spacious habitats, variety of animals some ive not seen before.

Gem Sabolboro

This place keeps getting bigger and better. So many animals and you get so close to each. My favorite part is feeding the camels. Guess what day it is?

Nicole Leigh

We love boulder ridge! Our kids always have a blast! So many different animals to learn about. I gave it 4 stars because it's a bit expensive and I wish they had some big cats. But it seems they are ever expanding their operation, so I wouldn't be surprised if big cats come along later.

Alyssa Powers

Took my granddaughters (who are animal lovers for sure) there today. Very impressed. Lots of sanitary precautions and hand sanitizer stations, clean all around the park, friendly staff. So glad I took them there. Perfect day outside for the drive.

Jodabugs Williamson

Beautiful, clean park and friendly staff! Lots of opportunities to interact with the animals too!

Angelica Hernandez

We love Boulder Ridge. It's small enough that we can bring our 2 yr old without worrying about a stroller. They made really nice improvements in the last year. Love that you can feed some animals. Highly recommend a season pass if you're local.

Mike Brandes

Great local zoo. Getting a bit expensive for what it is. But they are always making improvements

Danyell Grossett

We love Boulder Ridge and we bring someone new every time we go!! Looking forward to seeing how the park develops and grows in the future as we build our family ❤

Jill Allen

The only reason I don't give 5 stars is it seems a little pricey and it would be nice if they had concession stands. It would also be good to finish the parking lot so people have lines to park because people don't pay attention and park so people are blocked in. But it isn't stopping us from visiting. The kids have a blast and it is way better than a traditional zoo.

Jayy Perry

It was a nice experience with the animals in close encounters... Love the aviary section and feeding the Giraffe and other animal's... Safari tour is well worth it.. will be visiting again ❤️

Amanda Villanueva

While the park was clean for guests, the enclosures seemed small and had little enrichment for their animals. The baboon stared out to a side of a barn with his hands on the bars and a water buffalo was matted. You can tell the owners of this park have built this place up, but it made me question the welfare for all the animals brought out of their natural environments for our viewing...

Mandie Farr

Be sure to bring cash for feeding some of the animals. Such a fun experience!

Jack Ryan

We love this place it’s family oriented and such a close up experience with the animals. The staff is very polite and helpful, it’s almost a home like feeling. We are a family of four with 2 kids under 3. We love the membership Pass, it’s totally worth it.

Alex Verseput

Very clean but small wild life park. Has unusual attractions that our local zoo doesn't have. We had a great trip and hope to visit again.

Colin McLeod

Nice Zoo for the price. Kids will like feeding the animals. Can even feed the alligators and giraffes. The safari ride is included. Food is reasonably priced. Gift shop has a good variety. Overall a great way to spend some time with the kids and grandchildren.

Daniel B

I visited here a couple years ago and loved being able to pet and feed exotics, and the safari ride (which is still great). But the level of care for their animals has dropped horribly. I can't get over the Coatimundi exhibit, which is two animals in a big wire silo and some bare sticks to climb on. No foliage or enrichment. They were pacing back and forth out of stress and rubbing their noses on the cagewire. These are intelligent animals and need privacy and entertainment. There was also a fennec fox I saw twitching and startled from sleep in the constant chaos around it. This animal, while cute and energetic in the right conditions, was obviously stressed. The zoo would fare better with only the giraffes and other food-motivated herbivores being in the center, since that's why most people are going anyway. Beyond that, the crowding is immense and its extremely cramped, so its difficult to enjoy visits in the first place.

Carmen Roth

The animals are beautiful. The enclosure sizes are too small for the animals. Half of the animals don't have enough space to roam or even grass or ground in their exhibits, especially in the reptile house with most of the animals. It is not worth $14. Please before you think of getting more animals, expand your enclosure sizes and put more animals outside or even just give them land. Some of the reptiles only had a puddle and cement. This place needs a good inspection, because this can't be acceptable. Your alligators also seemed very crowded and only had water and cement, along with your flamingos who didn't have enough space in their enclosure, you had a porcupine with an enclosure that's probably twice its size, plus a turtle with literally only a puddle and cement. Please fix the animals living conditions. I will not be going back or giving anyone good news about this place, the animals need better living conditions.

Scott Keeney

No wait

Leslie Horic

Took residents from an assisted living facility for a day trip and they loved it! It was accessible for those in wheelchairs, the animals were so active, and we got to take our own bus around on the safari tour. Enough animals to feel like you are at a big city zoo, but without all the walking and time of one. A great spot for kids and adults!

Tom Moyer

Me and the family loved it here had such a great time here we saw a lot of cool animals like antelopes we got to feed camels and giraffes we went out Safari and we saw crocodiles and went into a reptile house it's worth coming home here

Caden Gilmore

Well... I have mixed feelings about writing this. The zoo itself is AMAZING. However it was nearly impossible to social distance there, it was PACKED. Most people didn't have masks on. A good portion of the zoo can only be seen by bus ride and they were at full capacity, people very close to one another. I would have felt much more comfortable with reduced capacity measures for a bit until we know where we stand with the pandemic spreading.

Angela Mitchell

This is a great place to take the kids. The daily admission price is good and the membership is completely worth it. There are plenty of activities for kids of all ages and the Daddy loves Safari ride us included with admission.. unlimited Safari rides actually. There's plenty of parking. They also allow you to bring in food for a picnic.

Abby Pindzia

A very interactive and jam packed animal experience. There is plenty to do and see in such a small space. The events are well thought out and reasonably priced. It is a neat outing for small kiddos. The adults generally have a good time, too. We went on a Saturday morning and had a great time with minimal waits or congestion.

Sherri Lynn Noe

Overpriced admission, which does not include another ticket purchase for a bus ride to see the rest of the animals. Different animals, lots of birds, but not worth the cost.

Brandy Johnson

Yes very nice park. Perfect size for first zoo. Bus ride was great. Good variety of animals.

Jose Morales

This was amazing! Most people kept excellent social distancing. Masks were worn in buildings & on the bus. There was social distancing on the bus also so it was very safe! There were lots of animals to feed. That was a thrill to all of us. Being so close to them was exciting. The animal habitats were in close walking distance. Our granddaughter loved panning for rocks, a great addition to the day. It was the nicest zoo like experience I have been too! Hand sanitizer was placed in multiple areas, very convenient.

Mike Allmon

Seeing all of the animals was super awesome and you can tell they are well taken care of. The staff is all friendly and my favorite part was how close you can get to the kangaroo. However, feeding a giraffe is a close second. It’s really a self led safari, which my boyfriend and I prefer. Don’t miss out on going on the free safari ride around the bigger sections of the park. The staff make it enjoyable and you see how huge the park actually is. Definitely would come back!

Jean Cain

Love, love, love it. Was there 7 yrs ago. They have added so much more animals to their park. They also have a tram for people in wheelchairs or with walkers. Took lunch in and claimed a table in the shade, had some nice breezes while eating. Was able to feed the animals either carrot sticks or lettuce and fed the parakeets. The animal park map shows what animals you can feed. Just a very enjoyable day at Boulder Ridge Wild Animal Park.

Chey Chey

Had a good time. It was well kept not overly crowded. Lots of exhibits. You can feed a giraffe and a camel and kids and adults can pan for gems. A bus drives you around to the outer zoo exhibits. Staff was friendly. Only dislike was the bus I would've rather had the option to walk the outer part or ride the bus. Other then that enjoyed our selves.

Nathaniel Kelly

My family's first time here and we enjoyed yourself for sure. Kinda not worth the price tag tho we drove over an hour to get here and thought their was going to be more things for kids to be more interactive with. Only big thing is the bird feeding cage and a few other feeding spots and rock water. The bus ride was okay as well. Also I would recommend bringing your own lettuce and carrots as $5 a cup is not worth it all.

This zoo is great, especially for young kids. You get to see the animals up close. The staff is friendly and helpful. The animals clearly love their keepers and are well cared for. I ended up buying a membership, even though we live an hour and a half away. I also appreciate that they stay open late (until 8) on Tuesday nights.

A fun place to take the kids, I really like the wide variety of animals.

Love this zoo! Such a great experience. Great opportunity to interact with feeding different animals and seems to grow every year.

Mark Wood

Wonderful place to visit!! So many different animals! We even fed the giraffes!!

Ness Robinson

Perfect place to bring the under 10 kids! They have many animals to keep the little ones occupied, (grown ups too). Feeding the giraffes and camels was great for everyone. The safari ride did not disappoint either.

Brandon Cornell

It was a beautiful day and so many people were there, but it didn't hold up the fun. The only line we had to wait through was at admission, and it wasn't that long ( less then 10min.). My 13,12, and 4 yr olds enjoyed all the hands on time they could experience with all of the animals. One of our favorite things was when we did a "safari like" bus ride around the zoo grounds learning about each of the animals displayed. I was totally amazing, and worth every penny.

Matthew Bailey

This place is so awesome!! I'll definitely go back so I can feed the giraffes again!!

Heather B

We had a wonderful time!!! Our group of 7, ranging from 3 to 75 and spanning 4 generations, shared uncountable smiles, laughs, and memories. We greatly loved how close you can get to the animals and were able to touch or handle so many of them. I can't say enough good things about our experience there. My 2 suggestions/critiques would be: 1) It was a bit expensive for our family. 2) The walkways are a bit tight and become very crowded.

Samantha Vanfleet

What a fantastic place here in the West Michigan area! The kids were excited to feed the Giraffes, have birds fly on them and take a safari ride! New little snack shack with Dogs, Fries, Pretzels and Drinks. Plan on about 3 hours to see most things!

Kyle Grusling

We came here for an all bldg outing and were not disappointed! We went on the tour and the staff got a vehicle that could accommodate us all, wheelchair spaces as well. There was a long line but they did not rush or make us feel as though we were a burden. It was great! We ate lunch at the picnic area just outside the attraction, and after walked through the park. It was very cool! We found another picnic area much larger and off the main path, wishing we had eaten there... We bought some lettuce and carrots for the camel's and giraffe's. It was time for us to head back before we got all the way through, but saw most of it. Maybe another time, worth every penny. I wish we could get a business membership! If I were an animal, I believe I would be very happy here????

mama stadt

Wonderful place for family outings. Great petting zoo, you can feed the animals and use a sieve in the sluice to find gemstones!!! I love it and will go there again. Highly recommend.

Crystal Brennan

Boulder Ridge is a must-visit local in West Michigan. This place is incredible! Our family has been twice and will definitely be going again. My favorite part is feeding the parakeets. If you buy seed sticks (only $1 apiece), the birds will land right on your hands and arms and eat from the sticks. Kids love it. Heck, I'm an adult and I love it, too. Just fun all-around and a wide array of animals to feed and view. Baby animals are born frequently, and the baby giraffes are amazing to watch as they be accustomed to using their stilt-like legs. If you can catch that (they will announce births of their Web site), it is worth looking out for.

Jamila Reece

I didn't know this place even existed but I'm Sooo happy that I found it!! It's a Great place for the kiddos! We had fun feeding the animals and mining for minerals in the gold rush river. The safari bus ride was both informative and fun. Almost the entire park is outside but there are these awesome fans that spray cool water placed throughout. It was Definitely worth the drive and I'll be going again before the season is over????????.

Went with my 5 yo class field trip. Emoyees brought out a bunch of animals for the kids to see, learn about, and touch. Went on a safari ride around the property. Over all a really good time. Oh! And the parakeet cage u can walk through was a hoot!

This is the best zoo I've visited, and pretty easily. Lots of interaction, easy to see all the animals (not the biggest cages / natural habitat), a bus tour, and all for a great value (around 40 bucks entry for our family of 3 and a few dollars for bird and giraffe snacks).

Lots of great animals, friendly staff. Just be careful in the bird feeding space if it's a slow day, those birdies get hungry!!

Joy Vanlandingham

Nice place mostly, but some enclosures were small and boring looking for the animals. The prehensile tailed porcupine in the reptile house made me so sad it ruined my day. The reptile house needn't even exist. It is depressing. They should focus on the larger animals. Bigger enclosures for some of the smaller animals.

Emily K.W.

I love feeding the animals. The train is informative, staff is friendly. But you need car decals in gifttshop

Megan Kuzawa

Great family friendly Animal Park. Such an open experience with up close animal attractions. The Safari ride is a nice touch. We are excited to try the up coming Sky Bridge. Each year they seem to add something new which is great. Definitely worth the trip.

Blaire B

Loved the lemurs and all the different animals you can feed. I trust the zookeepers but some of the enclosures looked a little too small for some of the animals. Made me feel bad for them they looked bored

Richard Elushik

This place is awesome! We took my two boys. The youngest is just a baby, but it was easy to take him in the stroller. My oldest loved every second of it! It wasn't too crowded and everything was extremely clean. Absolutely worth the trip!

Rebecca Drake

Coming from San Diego and being a Zoo member I was extremely skeptical about how much I would enjoy Boulder Ridge. Especially since we just went to John Ball and saw the whole Zoo in 80 minutes. I was so pleasantly surprised but to reiterate the San Diego zoo can not be compared to any zoo (aside from the Bronx Zoo) Boulder Ridge was wide open and had so many sanitizing stations. You can feed a Giraffe, and you can actually see all the animals. The major zoos while beautiful have habitats that the animals can hide in, but not at Boulder Ridge, almost 0 no shows. Plus there were so many breeds of antelope that I had never seen but they raise there. Half the park is only accessible by Safari Bus, which was also a very big shock. All in all it was fantastic and my family really enjoyed it. I’m looking forward to going to it again before winter, and becoming a member next summer!

Cearra J

I am 18 years old and went here with my family and loved this zoo! If you ever saw the movie, "We Bought a Zoo," it's a lot like that. It's smaller than your typical zoo, but has many benefits because of that. It has a variety of animals that I haven't seen at the others, and you are able to get much closer to the animals here than I have at any other place. You can pet and feed Camels, goats. birds, Giraffes, and many more. They have a safari bus you can ride that takes you out to see Zebra's, Bison, Ostriches, etc. It's a bit pricey at $14 (kids and Seniors are cheaper and parking is free), but I would totally go here again because it has something for every age group.

Earl Hollar

Very nice place to have a birthday party or to just go and see the animals. Clean and well kept. Had a great time with family and friends. I would recommend this place for all.

It was the first time I ever went and I lived here my entire life all over mich. And it was a very nice zoo I would love to work with animals I love animals and the zoo was bigger than a five star it was awesome got to pet jeraffes and all other kinds of animals thank you for having this here for all to enjoy even the safari ride was included and so far it was the best one ever

Diane Johnson

Not as big as the John Ball Zoo but it is a nice little animal park in this area. Feeding the larger animals is a main attraction.

Katie Holzgen

By far one of the best zoos I've ever visited and I've been to a few! Will most definitely be back in the near future and the far future!!!

Tabatha Brown

Great place..very handicap accessible..except for the safari ride...place was clean and animals looked well taken care of! My mom loved it!!

jennifer lepley

Lots of animals to pet and feed for little ones and a good little "safari" tour of a surprisingly large amount of animals. My preschooler had a blast!

Denise Kulesza

We just went for the second time! Both times were great experiences! We love it, kids love it! Great price, clean, friendly. Just enough to keep kids interested but not overwhelm.

Nice place, not as big as other zoos but fun. I'm guessing with more and more additions being built, it will be more and more busy. The animals are fun, loved feeding the giraffes but the feed was too expensive in my opinion. Admission tickets and everything else is fair priced.

Ashley Chesebro

A nice place to go see animals my favorite was the alligators I would recommend this place

They have expanded a lot and continuing to do more. I really like see how far they have come.

This zoo is so much fun, it's perfect if you're looking for something to do with your kids without being overwhelmed. It's a small zoo but has plenty of animals to see. Feeding the giraffes is a favorite activity. They have a safari ride …

John Huisman

Cute zoo. Didn’t take long to see animals, but enjoyed petting them. Would like to see more educational information posted. But overall a solid petting zoo.

Dorene Culp

Great small zoo. Perfect for kids who like to feed animals. Carrots and lettuce for 3 dollars(goats and giraffes). Seed sticks for 1 dollar (birds). Plenty of variety since they initially bred animals to sell to zoos. They also have a bus ride (included)with a good narrative about the animals and zoo and how it came to be. 14 dollars per adult. 10 bucks for kids > 2yo. 2 and lower are free

Kevin Srnek

We had a great time today! I loved how close you could get to the animals. Our toddler and elementary age boys both enjoyed themselves. Very clean and well cared for.

Barb Tindall

Waaaaaaaay better than the John Ball Zoo - people who work there should train the zoo staff.

Tony Martin

Fantastic little place. Very clean and they are actively expanding. Friendly staff. We loved the parakeet enclosure where you can get seed sticks and the land on your hand. You can feed the giraffes and pet/feed lots of others. It's small enough that you can see everything in just a couple of hours. You'll have a wonderful time.

Chris Howard

Great place to visit with family and friends. Big enough for young children to roam around in and cozy enough to not overwhelm yourself. Highly recommend the parakeet cage.

This place is so great for young families! I love that the enclosures are close together so you're not hiking miles to see animals. The bus "safari" option is a nice was to hop into some shade and learn about African animals. The park is clean, welcoming, and the staff are friendly. We went during baby animal week, and that was pretty cute! The baby kangaroo was absolutely the best baby. :) Although, my 3 yr old enjoyed holding a baby bunny. You can tell they're gearing up for major expansion. There are buildings going up all over. This place it going to be even more beautiful! The reason for 4 stars over 5 is that there are no predator animals... other than alligators like other zoos. Big predators are so cool, and I wish there were a few more to enjoy. Also, the reptile room was hard to navigate in a crowd. There needs to be some aisles painted on the floor or something. People were just huddled everywhere, blocking the path. Also, it's pretty expensive. For 2 adults and one three year old, it was almost $40. I can get a membership to John Ball for a family for $100 and go unlimited times... with a lot more activities and animals. Overall, I loved it and will be back!

Everyone loved it here. Reasonably priced admission, it’s not huge, so no long walks to see things, but big enough to see many types of wild animals. (pet the Giraffes!) it’s set out in the countryside. The staff is hands on with some animals and everyone can interact with them. It’s a nice clean open place. We really enjoyed going inside the bird sanctuary, sitting on the big boulders and feeding the parakeets, that actually would land on our arms, the kids were amazed and everyone loved it! We’ll come here again and again ????????????????

Glorimar Ayala

This outdoor park was great for my son's sensory needs. You can feed the animals who are mesmerizing, for first-timers. The safari ride makes for an amazing up close adventure. Great for family events

Wonderful Park. Animals are playful, friendly and very clean and well maintained. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Loved the larger animal safari ride and the entertaining smaller animals that surrounded you in walkthrough or knee level cages.

Great place to visit!! Staff are friendly and helpful! The guy driving the safari bus today was really nice and pointed out the babies as we drove past the animals. The customer service inside gift shop could be better though and more friendly. They have so many animals and feeding them is so much fun!

All ages love the Boulder Ridge Wild Animal park!

Angela Gamble

Love, love, love! Great, affordable, family fun. We try to visit every summer, and every summer is better than the last. They're expanding and making some wonderful additions/improvements. Yay for playgrounds!! Concessions are good, be sure to get the onion rings. ???? The animals are always fun, lots of opportunities for interaction and feeding. The aviary is an absolute must, for both adults and kiddos!! Bring quarters for alligator food, there's lots of them! And cash to buy veggies to feed the kangaroos, giraffes, camels, etc. Don't miss the safari bus ride. Always, always, a very clean and well maintained park.

Jeb Yowell

So very fun for all ages! I love how close up you can get to the animals, and feeding the giraffe was the highlight!????????

Lee Riedl

We always have so much fun here! They have exotic animals from around the world that you don't see in a zoo. From emu to antelope, and giraffes to kangaroos, you will not be disappointed!

Nick McKendry

What a great place to visit!!! Lots of animals, some walking, some bus riding, great and friendly staff, clean! Very affordable!!! We spent two hours learning about, petting and feeding some of the awesome animals!!! Great habitat, not too commercial. All ages would enjoy!

Ashley Bouwkamp

Flamingos standing in nothing but alge and sludge. Black swan in nasty black stinky water. Tour says that several of the animals are water lovers but no water. I don't like this place .

Miss Katie P

We had an excellent visit. Most animals are easy to spot and up close. We especially enjoyed feeding the giraffes! The free bird show was great; Juan did an excellent job of including the audience, making it fun, and showing us what these amazing creatures can do.

theresa brown

Parakeet aviary: awesome! Bus tour: great! Variety of zoological specimens: outstanding! Quality of exhibits: meh, the animals probably don't mind, and it didn't affect me much. I'll return.

Dawnette Smith

The place is set up so nicely! It is a perfect tour of many different and unique animals. And also, NICE JOB, Boulder Ridge with the misting fans throughout the walk!!! Perfect on a hot day! The Safari tour is spectacular! The animals have plenty of shade throughout the park and therefore they seem to be more active than at JBZ, because they are not cooking in the sun! The staff is super friendly and concessions are not too expensive. Feeding the animals, especially the giraffes, is such an awesome feature! Worth the drive.

Boulder is a nice little kids zoo. First, the cost of admission for adults is a bit steep I think for what you get to see. But for a hour or so it's ok. Parking is done well for the size of the zoo. Inside there are alot of large birds in the park. Also the mammals are all of the same group just different types. Gazelle's for example. They do have four giraffes to hand feed and two camel's as well. Reptiles too but no feeding them. LOL. There is a retrofitted bus that is used to take you on a small ride around to see the larger African animals for about ten minutes. This is included in the cost of admission. On the way out you go through a gift shop. The shop is full of kids toys to buy them. That's it really. So if your looking for a half day with your small kids this would be a super place to go with them. They would really have fun and what this park is geared for I think. But if your older or an adult this park is ok for an hour but you might find it a bit lacking. As I did.

This park is truly a gem out in the countryside! It was awesome being able to get up close to a lot of the animals here. Being able to drop a few bucks to be able to feed the giraffes/camels/etc. definitely enhanced the experience. This place is definitely a great location to bring a date or kids if you have them, and makes for great way to spend a couple of hours during the week.

Dillon Schultz

I have been there twice and it just keeps growing! Wonderful exhibits of energetic creatures from all over. You can feed giraffes or go on a safari ride. Definitely a fun place to take the kids.

Gabrielle Emelander

The price of admission was very reasonable. We were able to feed the animals without it costing outrageous prices and wasn't just for VIP anyone can feed the animals. A cup of carrot sticks or lettuce leaves was $5. I bought 2 of each and split them between 4 kiddos. It worked out so great! The animals seemed well taken care of and happy. There is a free Safari ride that is included in the price of admission. The safari ride was very informative about each animal we saw. And it wasn't too long that it became boring or kids lost interest. There was so much to see. I recommend going!

Many feeding the animal activities for kids. Lots of different animals.

Loved this zoo! Had a fabulous time with my grandchildren ages 6 & 8 months. Just the right size. It didn't tire them out as the bigger zoo's will. Parakeet cage was wonderful! Train ride around the park was great for watching the wildlife. The kids had so much fun feeding the parakeets, goats, camels and giraffes. We even found Big Foot ????

Jim Mosley

Awesome place to visit! They have some of the most interesting animals to experience. There are many opportunities for children and adults to interact with the animals by feeding and petting them. The Safari Ride takes you out amongst the large animals mostly from South America and gives details about each as you go along. I would choose to go here over the other two zoos that are all within an hour of Grand Rapids.

Just Me

Like a zoo but with a nice difference. There's a few unusual animals and a great way to interact with some by purchasing feed (carrots, lettuce, pellets, birdseed sticks, ...). Nice park bus ride around outer area on one side of park. Don't miss it or you miss several animals. This ride is included in admission price. The giraffes are great, porcupines, orynx, and so many others. Very clean and animals well cared for! 2 - 3 hrs easily spent there. Free parking. Nice store, eating area there but no food for sale ... just snacks. I hope you enjoy this place as much as we did.

Janice Flouncy

My kids and had a awesome adventure at your park today. Even though my kids are older 19yrs +, they still had a great time learning about and feeding the animals. We will be back.

Matt Weller

Excellent laid back zoo experience. Not as hectic as other zoos. The staff is great and prices are affordable. Doesn't feel like a resort experience, no pushy people asking you to spend more money on experiences every turn. There's no food or concessions, but you'll hardly notice. We've done the bus ride experience several times and it's fun every time!

Martin Diaz III

Wow Impressive.. Alot of work and details were evident in this nice zoo. With cute animal metal artwork.. And everywhere landscaped beautifully with variety of shrubs, trees and flowers.. Nice structures ...and enclosures for the variety of aninals.. Lots of parking area. All paved walkways..misting stations for a hot day. Very nice clean restrooms ( several at various places throughout).. Nice area to sit and relax..and get a bite to eat or drink.. I had chili cheese fries..and a slurpie..mermaid flavor..both were very good..and the drink hit the spot on a 85 degree day.. Prices are very reasonable too.. The safari ride is free..and nice to go around the grounds..that have more expansive enclosures..very informative recording info about the animals...while you ride. A zoo train..for the toddlers...just goes around in a circle... Plenty of playground area for kids too.. So many animals...., birds, and lemurs, alligators, primates..a few reptiles.. ...its a very nice zoo. Lots to browse at in the gift shop as you make you way to exit. Me and my adult daughter took our leisure walking, observing and just enjoying the day..were there about 3 hours...

I remember this park beging very big and walking a lot to find all the animals. This time it felt like all the animals were very close together. Very little shade. Alot of fun to feed all the different animals though Make sure you bring plenty of cash to feed all the animals.

Great zoo! We had a wonderful time with my 2 and 5yr old. Clean, not too pricey. Also the animals seemed so happy and well taken care of. Many times I go to a zoo or nature park and I leave feeling bad for the wildlife. I didn't get that sad feeling here.

Probably my favorite local zoo! The animals are so close up and we love to feed them!! They have recently updated with playgrounds and more animal exhibits!! It seems as they are always growing and have done a fantastic job of keeping things well maintained and clean! The staff there is so friendly and helpful as well :)

Dave Mazurek (Flashfire)

Wonderful experience for those who can afford it. Clean, no odors, and animals are in excellent condition. Narrated guided safari (bus) ride is included in admission price and provides information on several species. Walking areas are concrete sidewalks and animals in these areas can be viewed up close. Highlights were walking into the parakeet area and being swarmed by parakeets while feeding them (go early while they are more hungry and active) and hand feeding the giraffes. Food for birds and animals costs extra, and the optional "toy" train ride for children is an additional $4.00 each.

Brian Herzog

Great place to visit with the family. I've been here for work events and with just the family. The staff are always friendly and knowledgeable. Our kids love being able to interact with so many different animals. The giraffes and feeding the birds is the favorite among everyone we go with. The size of the park feels right for an afternoon trip and it looks like they are planning to expand. Another nice touch is they allow you to bring in your own food to eat in the picnic area. Always a blast coming here!

Patti Lane

So many cool animals up close, you can buy food to feed them including the birds. Live shows with animals, an education area, zoo bus tour to see the bigger animals like zebra. Paved walk ways, restrooms, gem mining, and a store with snacks, drinks and trinkets of all price ranges. Lots of free parking.

Tom Jones

Feeding the giraffes was the absolute highlight. It didn't cost much to get in, and the animals were vast. The park was large, but it didn't seem like we were walking forever because the exhibits were close together. Most were interactive, like feeding at the petting zoo, the parakeets, the giraffes, and the camels. The baby animal week was the best, and the zebras are adorable.

My niece and I spent our adventure day here and were not disappointed! She had never experienced being so close to so many different animals. We had a blast feeding them all!! The giraffe, camels and alpacas were our absolute faves!! I spent more on carrots and lettuce than in the gift shop!! ???? I was a little disappointed in the tram/safari ride. Boulder Ridge was an amazing gem in our backyard! I can't believe we have not been here before, this place is way cooler than the zoo! Admission was reasonable, and when I asked if I could bring my camelback they responded quickly to tell me I could. I love how close you can get to the animals! Cant wait to go again and see the new addition open! Thanks for a great experience Bouldef Ridge Wild Animal Park!!!

Love it!! Great place to spend an afternoon and very inexpensive. You can get close to everything and see different animals than your average zoo! Well worth the drive!

David Ferland

Clean fun place to go. Most zoo's parks keep you a mile away from the animals but this park is a bit more up close and personal. Not all animals are super close but the few that are have feeding stations near them so you can feed them carrots or lettuce ($5 a cup of course). The park also looked cleaner and newer then most parks in Michigan. No huge animals like lions but they have other animals to peak your interest. Great for familys. Really recommend this place!

32$ for two adults and a toddler. Thought that was fairly reasonable. The zoo itself is great. Its all practically brand new, and ever expanding and adding bigger and larger animals and habitats. Lots of different birds, reptiles, and mammals. $5 gets you a solo cup of carrots to feed camels, giraffes, goats, alpaca's. Owners seem to provide best practices for the care of the animals and it shows. Kids love it, a better experience than the "bigger" zoo's for sure.

Angela Whitehead

Loved the traffic flow there and back. Easy in and out. Wonderful thing to do with family and cost wasn't to bad.

The place had a little bit of everything for everyone including reptiles, spiders, Birds, alligators, Safari wildlife, and many others. Lots of activities for little ones and relatively inexpensive. This place is indeed on the corner of no and where, but damn is it worth the trip. Where else are you going to get to feed a giraffe? Ride a goofy kids train, and take a safari bus to the back 40 to see animals that Steve Irwin was afraid of? If you are a kid, or a kid at heart, this is a wonderful place to bring the family, or an animal loving date.

Corwin Black

Nice place to take younger children. Fun to feed the animals except they never really wanted to be fed except for more of the goat type animals, the farm animals. Most of the other animals were not very hungry. The bird section is amazing to feed the birds except none of the birds wanted to be fed. So is disappointing to go there and animals don't really want to be fed. It was so crowded. And prices are rather expensive.

Aprl Stratton

They was a nice park lots of animals, nothing like tigers or gorillas and 4 dollars a small cup of carrot sticks and 3 dollars for leafs for food to feed the animals, it was 16 dollars per an adult to get in and about 13 for kids 5 and up which I think is a little pricey specially with covid and not a lot to do with everything else closed down or limited capacity. But overall it was a very nice park! The people was very friendly!

Rosemary Grzeskowiak

By far our favorite zoo-- and we've visited a lot of zoos in many different states. The bigger zoos don't even come close to this place. It's always clean, the staff is friendly, the animals are well loved and taken care of. My favorite part is feeding the giraffes-- so amazing!! We think the price is great. Like I said, we've been to alot of zoos and we've paid twice as much (or more) and didn't see more animals, just did a whole lot more walking! This is a great place for small children and senior citizens who can't handle all that walking. Highly recommend!????????

KateLynn Angel

Our first time here and my nieces loved it, especially feeding the animals. They are expanding so there are some closed areas but it still took us almost 2 hours to see everything.

Richard Wylie

100% must go. I have a 6 and 4 year old that love this place. If I ask them where they want to go both girls request Boulder Ridge!

Sherri Duren

Great park where you can get close to the animals and there were several unique species I had never seen before at any other zoo. Feeding the animals was the highlight of the visit, but the cost for the food for the animals was a little high in my opinion. Only other complaint is that a few animal enclosures did not have signs that told you what the animals were. Otherwise, great zoo and will definitely be making this at least an annual stop.

L P

It's a wonderful little park with plenty to see. The main area is not large but you can easily spend an hour or so looking at and interacting with the animals. When you're done with that part of the park, you can board their Safari bus for a 30 minute ride to see the remainder of the animals there. The park admission is a little high, but not bad. There are snacks inside the park you can purchase to feed some of the animals. It is clean and well kept and there is a very reasonably priced gift shop. I encourage you to come check it out!

Renee Gillespie

Wonderful place!! Family owned and run. Everyone is super friendly. Lots of different animals to see. Beautiful walking paths and handicap accessible.

This is the second time I have come here. The zoo is immaculately clean and the animals all appear very healthy and happy. I appreciate this time around more so as the enclosures are small grated which does not allow kids to get more than their fingers through. An excellent selection of animals as well. The baby giraffe alone was comical hopping around and shaking its head. Be sure to feed the goats, giraffes and birds!

Beth Van Prooyen

What a lovely outing for parents and grandparents to bring the kids. Not too big that you are exhausted half way thru but cool or breezy days are best choice. Rick is the BEST safari host!! Definitely go back!

We went there in 2019. We really enjoyed it! We liked being able to feed the giraffes. We were at ground level and it was amazing how tall the giraffes were! Planning to go again this year! Lots of animals to see!

Linda Tabaczka

Well folks...we packed up the twins and headed to Alto Michigan. Alto Michigan? What the heck is in Alto Michigan? This most AWESOME place! Let me tell you..."Boulder Ridge Wild Animal Park has it going on!" What a clean, lovely animal refuge. Hats off to all the marvelous workers at this park that care so much about their animals! Here you can feed giraffes, take an open bus safari ride and view their African graze animals, watch their kangaroos bounce around and let their hundreds of canaries land on your head. Do not miss a stop here on your next summer visit to Michigan.

Michelle Rodriguez

It was not what I expected. The camel's and the giraffe's were cool but most other animals you can only see from a distance on their bus

This place is great. Much better than any zoo. It's small and personable. There are new things to see all the time. Great place to bring the kids for the afternoon. Bring and extra dollar or two to feed the giraffes! The animals are well taken care of and don't look mangey like some zoo animals do. 10/10

Heather Kleinjans

An excellent, wild animal park which offers hands-on experiences with animals. One may feed giraffes, camels, kangaroos, goats, parakeets, and even alligators! My 3.5-year old, son loved it! I highly recommend visiting this park.

Heather VonConstant

Nice small zoo that is never really packed, affordable and comfortable. Accommodations available for school trips. Though bring your own food if you plan to eat here.

Love this zoo! It's the right size... not too big and not too small. Kids (and adults) love it there. Can be closer to the animals to see them better. Walkways are new, wide, and in perfect shape. Lots of benches to rest. A cute train for small children to enjoy, can go into the canary house to feed them and let them land on you (my favorite). Animals are close so as you pass by one another immediately follows. Can pet and feed many of them but be warned, they have to protect the animals by allowing only food they provide to be fed to the animals at a small charge. Of course even small charges add up so I prepare our children ahead of time with a limit. Hope you'll visit. It's a clean, healthy environment for our children!

Sam Corace

They have a large variety of animals, many of them are African. They are small enough park that you can see all the animals in 1 1/2 hours, which is great for people with small children. You can feed the giraffe, goats, budgies (parakeets). There is a bus park ride to see several larger animals, that require large enclosures. There is a lot of parking space, which is free. Affordable admission cost. I just wish there was a way to walk through the primate house. When we were there most of the primates were indoors, so the cages were empty. We did enjoy seeing the baby animals.

Awesome, Took my 6 year old granddaughter and we got to feed The Giraffes and camels, there was lettuce and carrots to purchase for a healthy snack for them, what a great experience, also a wonderful ride around the park to see different animals, very pleased, would definitely recommend a visit

Samantha Horn

I had no idea this place was so close to my house. Housemate and I went on a whim and had an amazing time! Friendly staff and a ton to do.

Tera Britten

Incredible experience! Very well kept!

Amelia Evink

Great place to take your kids. A lot of hands-on feeding the animals. Plan on spending about an hour maybe a little more there

Max Barnes

Well worth a trip to this zoo. While it isn't the biggest, it has a lot to see. Prices are fair and the staff is great.

Debbie Raymond

This is a nice place to spend some time with the family. You can bring in your own food and beverages which is awesome! They have a "safari" tour bus that takes you around to see a lot of the animals. The kids can feed giraffes, camels, kangaroos, etc and there is a really cool bird cage where the birds will land on you to eat from a sick you hold with bird seed on it. If you're interested in this place I would definitely recommend checking it out.

Michael Cosson

Buying annual passes for next year! My only complaint is that they don't have a very wheelchair accessible train/bus ride for my husband who is handicapped.

CI Lee

Fun little zoo with lots of different animals than the basic zoo animals. We spent about an hour and a half there. Bring extra money to feed the animals. The giraffes are amazing, you can get super close to them.

Alan Burbank

What a great experience! Lots if hands on activities for the kids and so much fun. Go if you get the chance.

Cheyenne Benoit

I really enjoyed my experience here. Boulder Ridge has a really nice walk through display of some very unique animals. Along with the narrated bus tour made this well worth the price of admission. I just wish it was bigger.

Chandra Cozort

Great place to go to spend time with family or just with the kids. Learn about the animals that have never seen or just needed reminder if already know about them. Fun place and also get to feed some of the animals! Enjoy and have fun

Mary Pearl

Cute animal park that is still in its growing stages. Feeding the animals is a highlight of the trip!

anthony sleight

1st time going last Sunday and let me tell you it was absolutely amazing experience! So many animals you can see and feed plus they have a really cool safari ride! Would highly recommend!

Linda Taylor

Love this place! By far favorite zoo to go to. I swear every time I go, there's always something new and awesome to see!

Beth McKinney

Very family friendly, easy walking around to see all the animals with tram/bus ride around park to see more animals. Lots of improvements and additions in the works as well.

ginger norris

Excellent place, always something new to see. Lots of unique animals to see. You can feed several of the animals as well. Best thing in my opinion, you can actually see the animals, if they're not outside their homes are usually viewable through plexiglass. You will never be disappointed at Boulder Ridge!

Karen Van hoven

It was a very nice clean friendly zoo lots to see animals well taken care of safari ride was great you can bring food and drinks in and they have pickinic area free parking is awsome definitely visit again

J P

Good family time. 2 bucks or 3 for 5 parakeet feeding sticks. 5 dollars for cup of carrots or romaine lettuce (6 leaves). Giraffe feeding is better than binder zoo. Glad we got there when they opened, as it took us about an hour or so to explore it started to get packed. Hand sanitizer located throughout the zoo which was excellent. People didn't have common sense to practice social distancing. I feel that shouldn't be the zoo responsibility but your own.

Lynne Myers

We came on their opening day with our granddaughters. We love this place. The staff is great, friendly and helpful. We bought season tickets so that we can go many times this year. ❤❤

Highly recommended. There are a surprising variety of animals, and for many (giraffes, yaks, even a gnu), you can get very close. There is also a "safari" ride where you see more of the animals in the larger environments and learn about the park and how it began. Its great for kids as well, though they will want you to buy the offered food to feed the animals in the main area ???? The animals also seem well taken care of, which makes visiting feel better than going to some zoos.

Stacy Wilber

We had an amazing time, lots of fun for the family, a little gem in the middle of no where. Animals all looked very happy and very well cared for. With the construction it looks like some amazing additions are soon to happen!!

Lorie Watters

This is a wonderful place! Nice sized park with lots to see and do. Walkable so you don't get too tired. We spent about 3-1/2 hours here and saw pretty much everything. Great picnic area to sit and have a snack or lunch. We brought our own cooler and had lunch. The highlight for our grandchildren was them getting to feed the giraffes. Highly recommend this park. We will definitely go back!!!

Their bus ride takes you through areas containing animals you rarely see at zoos. The animals have more space & shade. They had lots of baby animals to see. Very clean throughout the park. You can take a picnic lunch & they provide a covered picnic area. Ample parking. Helpful employees! Need I say more? We and our grandsons had a super day!!!

This is a great park. They have a nice layout. You are allowed to feed many of the animals. They have quite a few interesting animals including several albino and babies (they had a baby giraffe and two Ring-Tailed Lemurs all born in July2018).

Eric Westover

Wonderful park. Lots of animals. Friendly knowledgeable staff.

Michael Price

Had a great time seeing all the different animals. My kids enjoyed feeding and petting some of the animals.

Kim Sharp-siel

kind staff and amazing animals I went with my family today and had a great time! great for kids and adults of all ages!

Clark Fries

This zoo is so much fun, it's perfect if you're looking for something to do with your kids without being overwhelmed. It's a small zoo but has plenty of animals to see. Feeding the giraffes is a favorite activity. They have a safari ride that's included in your admission which takes you around to see more animals. They have a nice pavilion for a picnic lunch.

Jonathan Saigeon

A hidden gem! This park is great for kids! Small enough that you can get see it all and young kids are still in a good mood by the end. The bus tours are an added bonus - visiting several animals and hearing about them, along with a short history of the park while seated in a safari type bus is a nice relief. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

Jamison Walker

This place has expanded so much since my last time here and continues to grow. We had so much fun with the kids!

Some of the exhibits are small and depressing and I felt sorry for those animals. Primarily the prehensile tailed porcupine had a gloomy little enclosure in the reptile house and looked very sad. Why exactly is a porcupine inside a reptile house? As far as I know on planet Earth porcupines are not reptiles. In fact I think the entire reptile house was not good. And the little concrete pit for the many alligators needed help for sure. But I will say that the animals all looked healthy and well taken care of. But if even one of their little creature seems to be suffering that's too many and unnecessary... .

Mark Vanhoven

I love this zoo but it's definitely become more populated over the past couple yrs so it's always pretty busy. But I love the events they have and the new exhibits put up this year. The little train ride for kids should also be free.

VERY memorable zoo experience! More wheelchair/stroller friendly than John Ball, too.

Eric Dejong

I really liked that you can get so close to the animals! A lot of different animals and the Safari ride was very educational. There were a lot of cute baby animals! I thought some of the enclosures were a little small. You have to pay for food to feed the animals, but you can feed a lot of different animals with it. Overall, very educational, clean, and fun.

cyndi shook

Overall good experience, but a few of the animals enclosures could stand to be larger. They do appear well taken care of though, and many many different species to enjoy. I would definitely visit again.

Daphnie Schreur

Had a ton of fun..wish the fencing wasnt so small so you could get better pics but otherwise great

kelley roberts

Feeding birds was super cool. Nice smaller zoo. Plenty to keep kids happy without the endless walking to see everything.

They offer a bus tour of additional animal pavilions that are not accessible by foot. It’s included with your admission fee.

Andrea Williams

Amazing place for the family and so close by. They have animals from all over the world and the best part is that many of them you can feed them!!! My kids loved being so close to them and being able to touch them was an amazing experience!!!

Bobbie Farris

Very kid friendly. My grandson had a ball feeding all of the animals. But if you are not a bird fan, this is not the place for you. My wife is terrified of birds so it was like being in a nightmare for her!

Core Clothing Usa

Loved all the wildlife! My granddaughters had a ball! Lots of close viewing/feeding/petting of many animals and better than the local zoo. I cant wait to see what animals come in the future!

Kiona Assink

Not too big, not too small. Animals have well maintained, clean, landscaped enclosures with ample room. You can purchase food to feed many animals there, including the giraffes and the birds inside the outdoor aviary. Cute little children's train ride available. There is a guided bus tour included with park admission. Makes for a lovely, affordable little family outing!

Timothy Kirkpatrick

My daughter absolutely love this place. Her father and I also enjoyed it a lolot. So many new things coming there to. You get to be up close and personal with every animal and you can almost feed any animal there. They provide snacks for the animals. They have concession stands and a huge canopy for eating and shade. Big gift shop! So many baby pygmy goats this year to ????????????
