This pet store really blew me away. The staff was so nice and helped us out with everything we were looking for and we even got to play with and pet their African Grey, Spike! They don't have a massive selection but they definitely have enough for a novice pet owner. It was also very clean and inviting inside the building. They have a great selection of pet food for all kinds of animals, from birds to fish to cats. I definitely recommend coming here if you are looking for a good local pet store.

Great selection and decent prices, for fish. They've improved over time and seem to have good, consistent customer service overall. There is water for your dogs there and the staff regularly give treats if you're a dog person. The aquarium plants are a little on the expensive side, but they have a decent selection, plus a decent amount of all things pet.

Won't go there ever again they pushed a buddy of mine out when they purchased and took over Paradise Pets in St. Albert. So he started his own specialty pet store for reptile and fish. This being said I have also seen how things have changed products people actually looked for brand names etc you changed everything therefore pushing people to go elsewhere to find the products they trusted and could get there when it was Paradise Pets. And if I sounded hurtful well this is just nasty as you also dont know the community here or what people want. I have lived here over 30 years and seen businesses come and go as the owner thinks they know best for the community which is why there is petsmart and others to carry products people know and trust, So you take that however you want but I for 1 will not shop your store and I have multiple pets of my own as well as foster for SCARS. I loved the store before but now that the family sold completely out it just someone trying to make a buck doesnt care about community of pet owners and will supply what they want and how they want.

Family failed to tell me, we were out of dog food until 5 mins to close. I called asked if I ordered through the website if they could throw our bag in the back. Laurie was the supervisor on shift and she offered to wait for me and hand me the bag. I showed up 15 minutes after close and recieved my dog food with a smile! Absolutely stellar customer service that turned a stressful situation into a great experience. Always shop at Mr. Pets, we've been shopping here since we moved to Alberta and have never been let down!!

I drove in from Spruce Grove for a nerite snail today to replace our 2 week old snail previously purchased here. After calling to confirm they had them in stock. Only to find out that the tank is under quarantine. When we mentioned that our previously purchased snail died, we were informed they had a bad “batch.” Guess that doesn’t fall under the fish guarantee automatically? The representatives then explained the tanks were quarantined for ick and they were unsure if snails could be carriers (they can) but it would probably be ok. Many ick treatments kill snails as well. Long story short, you are better off spending your money elsewhere where they value your time.

Finally asked what's going on and found out from several staff members that they are told to find ways no to give out guarantees anymore on fish just annoying

I was told they do not share filtration...so I was dumb and purchased a molly from a tank that "looked clean".... Well I'll tell you... I've bought quite a bit of stuff from here and let me start by saying they are overcharging for low quality products. My lamp, thermostat, bulb, and heat mat all broke or stopped working under no fault of my own. You can find all the same products online for much better prices and higher quality. Absolutely atrocious. I recommend other stores unless nothing else is closer.

The food selection and prices are amazing. Especially for those of us who have small animals or pocket pets. Sadly the conditions these animals are kept in are very inadequate and will actually cause harm. I wont even get started on how tiny the cages are. They have syrian hamsters that have wheels so small they are going to get back injuries. They also can't properly or comfortably run as they would in the wild. This doesn't allow them to exhibit natural behaviours. Also the cotton "nesting material" has been known to get tangled around limbs resulting in amputation, get stuck in their cheek pouches, and cause blockages. It's sad seeing pet stores selling and advertising so many things that are inadequate and not safe. You are supposed to teach the public correct care.

Unfortunately we lost both our ferrets in two days, our little girl passed from old age and the little boy was a rescue we had had for only a month.We got in contact with Kelly and she went above and beyond to get us four little ferret babies.That was the first time I was in paradise pets and was so impressed by the variety, cleanliness of the store.First store that had that much ferret supplies.Very glad to see rescue animals for adoption.There was also two ferrets from fort mac that were being temporarily homed.Thank you so.much Kelly and Candace for all your help.

They have a great selection of stuff. More than most stores for reptile supplies. Very great price for live mice. However they lack in communication between staff. I called and paid over the phone for my purchase one day. The woman took my number and name. I told her my boyfriend would be in to pick it up shortly. When he arrived there was nothing about me prepaying or anything. As well as today a girl asked if she could help me and I told her I needed a live mouse. She said she would grab it for me. I waited about 10 minutes and saw her, I asked if she had grabbed it and she said it was up front waiting for me. Again, good company just need to strengthen their communication.

I was just here! They had fish, and snakes, and tarantulas, and rabbits, and cats, and birds, and turtles, and lobsters. There was also a dog that was visiting the store with its owner. You can also buy many supplies for your pets there, such as food, enclosures, toys, and dishes. You may be able to buy even more things that I didnt list, I'm not sure, because I Listed everything I can think of. Thank you and good day

I always take my bunnies here to get their nails trimmed. The staff are friendly and they are quick and reliable. I recommend calling before making the trip to make sure that their staff is there :) they also have a good reward program for bunny food and hay

I adopted my cat here, he was a rescue from little lost cats. Love him to death. They matched us with a great kitty. The only reason I give it a 4star and not 5 is only cause they dont carry Purina cat food dental. They do have a great solution of cat food but at the same time limited I think. Will always keep coming here. Just have to find the other cat food I need somewhere else I guess.

I usually love going to this pet store! But the last 2 times I went in to buy fish for my 30 Gallon aquarium the 2 girls working there were not pleasant at all. I had some questions about a couple different fish but am not a newbie to having fish tanks. They gave me false information and made it seem like they didn't want to sell me any fish. Which was clear after they went off whispering. They ruin the pet store for me and I will not be going back. There are much better places to buy fish with people that actually know what they are talking about when it comes to aquariums and who actually want to help you.

A clean store with friendly employees. Animals are clean and appear well cared for. We went in during COVID and staff was reminding people (including us) to social distance when getting too close which I appreciated. Hand sanitizer provided at the front of the store. Myself and my children came in 15 minutes before closing on the weekend and there were customers waiting to be helped that were there before us. One of the employees assured us we would be helped even if after the store closed. Very good service. Good prices and healthy pets.

regarding the post below about MY stolen wallet. CORRECTION at no time was a video offered or sent. i was treated with disrespect from the store manager Kelly. i was only offered an appology after i said i was going to social media. I was treated like a delinquent teenager By the president/owner Mike. The person "who helped me for over 15 minutes" is also the same person who was seen on video by the RCMP leaving the store and walking in the direction where my wallet was found cleaned out of all its cash. the only reason she is not facing charges is because MY wallet cant be seen on her (its very small, the size of a credit card. at no time was the management staff empathetic, or helpful. i have been going to this store for years. there has been a huge change since the change from when it was paradise pets.

I miss Pet Paradise. The previous owners were extremely kind and informative. Every time we would go in, I would ask to hold a bunny, they would let me hold the cutie, same with the kitties. Now you ask, and the young girl says no. You must adopt, if u want to hold it. Your loss. You go to PetValu, and they encourage you to play with their kitten/cats.

I went to the store looking for dog popcorn, as my dog is a popcorn lover. I couldn't find it, I asked for help, they had sold out and it should be in the store within the week. They took my number and are going to call, found me a couple other treats for my pup. A successful trip! Great service

If I could give a zero, I would. My friend with a pitbull puppy went in to shop, and the owner refused to help because 'he hates pitbulls'. I suggest going to a better store with more open minded people.

Awesome pet food selection, and admirable in that they sell cats that need rehoming, not simply cats bred for sale. My only complaint is regarding their ferrets: do NOT buy a ferret from here. They are Marshall's ferrets and only have a health guarantee if they are fed Marshall's ferret food. Ferrets are carnivores and will get sick if they eat grain/vegetable based foods, which is what Marshall's ferret food consists of (cheaply made food monopolized by the ferret company). This is a marketing ploy to ensure that your ferret lives a short, sick life so you have to buy more. If you do get a ferret, ignore the health guarantee and feed them Orijen cat food - high in protein and absolutely great for ferrets. You'd be better off buying a ferret anywhere else - one that is NOT a Marshall's ferret. Other than that, great store, great staff, great selection!

High prices and poor staff since it changed ownership. Went here to get my birds nails and wings trimmed and they clipped the wings with cat nail clippers making them shredded looking and cut only one nail (way too short) making it bleed then wouldn't do the other ones. Not to mention they held my bird VERY improperly and could have snapped his neck. Owner called me to say that he wouldn't help pay for the vet visit needed after their improper care but would only offer me a store credit which I did not take...like I'm going to go back... Poor service and uneducated inexperienced staff

I was looking for a different place to shop for fish supplies and I found this store. The fish section is big and very nice. Fish supplies are very large in comparison to big stores as petsm@rt or big@ls. They have unique supplies for your fish at very affordable prices
