Always a fantastic place to learn and discover. My kids have been going since they were tiny and still ask to go.

Wyatt Hook

Great museum for a little date or to take the kids to. Donation based entry means it is always affordable and the exhibits are well arranged.

Hitesh lalwani

Went to check this museum out with family but did not enjoyed much. With kids, story might have been different

Jonas Rey

As a guy that knew nothing about Saskatchewan, this museum gave me a good understanding of the province. Super instructif, i really enjoyed my experience.

Ciara Marie

Absolutely incredible and educational museum. I loved every second I spent in this building. My favourite part was the large-scale dioramas of all the different types of animals and plants in their habitats. Very organized, and will be visiting again!!

Nicolas Levi Armstrong

Love it and that's the first museum our almost 5 years old daughter enjoyed!

Patrick Aliverti

I was in a bit of a rush but there was so many things to see and learn. Definitely give yourself more time when visiting, it'll be worth it.

diwan aarif

Amazing place to visit. And lots of things to enjoy. Excellent work done by the city council for local and foreign peopl to learn more about Saskatchewan in realistic way. Kudos to everyone for creating and maintaining

Jeff Sacco

Had to visit this place while in town. Had a nice set up with the main man himself, Scotty. Wonderful explainations of the exhibits. Very detailed dioramas. More geared towards children but still did enjoy my time. Would recommend if you have kids looking to fill a rainy day.

kamalakanta behera

A good place to visit

Guillermo R. R.

It's a cool place but feels a little bit too small, and there's not much to do.

Jaspreet Sidhu

Great for kids- Pleopit is my son's favourite. Nice displays and admission by donation. Also like the native displays and my son loves to dance with the drums and listen to the recorded stories. Good place to kill 2, 3 hours and have a picnic.

The Royal Saskatchewan Museum furthers an understanding of Saskatchewan's natural history and aboriginal cultures, past and present. It communicates that understanding through all available media, especially exhibits and publications, in a culturally and scientifically sensitive manner for the purposes of education and enjoyment. By example; Scientists have uncovered an incredible specimen in Myanmar that has given us a glimpse of life from 100 million years ago - a piece of amber containing the remarkably preserved remains of an ancient bird hatchling. Inside the amber, you can make out the head, tail, and neck of the bird, but it's the wings and feet that are the real marvels - the chunk of fossilised tree resin has perfectly preserved the bird's feathers, flesh, and claws, and gives us insight into a doomed group of prehistoric species called the 'opposite birds'. "It's the most complete and detailed view we've ever had," one of the team behind the discovery, Ryan McKellar from the Royal Saskatchewan Museum in Canada, told New Scientist.

Ana De Leon

One of our stops from our road trip to Ontario from the Yukon. No entrance fee to visit the museum. It was really nice and well maintained.

Really engaging and well thought out exhibits, introducing visitors to the unique animals and landscapes of Saskatchewan. The main attraction featured in the museum is Scotty the Tyrannosaurus Rex, the largest and longest lived Tyrannosaurus Rex ever found! Admission is free, but donations are encouraged.

Excellent place to visit .

URVI GALA

Lovely experience and very informative.

Anas first

Thank you Royal Sask Museum for all your hard working and fabulous art you put in this amazing museum. The most places/items we love are those animals among real or like real natural trees with backgrounds of more-than-amazing paintings. With curve background technique you make it like 3D show and wow! Thank you! It is really an amazing museum!

shikhar sood

Amazing mesueum with lot of knowledge and experience

Hun Lee Photography

Very well organized. I felt very safe. thank you for the museum staff who made my experience pleasant.

Fernando Pardo

Great family activity! Well priced. Took a day to go through it, perfect for young families!

Ryan Gormican

Excellent facility that is educational for all! Good exhibits that are informative with lots to learn.

Chanda Hernaez

The Royal Saskatchewan Museum. Is one of the best place to go in Regina. Not only because it's free to get in..but also by donation to get in there.. and there are lots of heritage stuff to see in there all the dinosaurs the land before time.. I love walking there they always have new exhibit every month somethings new to see everytime. So if you're going there make sure to bring the camera with you to capture captivating moments inside the museum. Have fun and enjoy your day! Don't forget to bring your masks as well.

Sarah Faith

Always fun to go to the museum.. Loved how they keep up with the social distancing rule!

Glojohn Permacio

Very educational and fun place to visit for all ages.

Amir Girgis

Always something new to learn about this great country.

Kara & Jason Taylor

The museum has a focus on the natural history of the province. They have many different exhibits of wildlife in their "natural" habitat which is well done. The First Nations exhibit is good but needs to be updated to reflect the current terminology and I would love to see them integrate the Truth and Reconcilition process and recommendations into the exhibit. They have a neat dinosaur-based exhibit and always have some form of a travelling exhibit (it was up close and personal with bugs when I was here last). There is a native plant garden at the front and do not forget to check out Megamunch while you visit!!!!

PassionateAutistic ArtisticImpressions

You can definitely tell its had a little revamp. Scotty exciting. Still needs a bit of something for audience retention.

Karandeep Singh

One of the best places to visit in Regina. Amazing staff plus the artifacts. The atmosphere inside is surreal with all the sculptures looking almost as legit as they can. You certainly get goosebumps. The T-rex exhibition is amazing as well and it is equipped with an awesome sound system. A must visit place.

Sanjida Hasnin

Staff are very nice and friendly. Very clean and organized place. My kids LOVE going there always. Now with the new BIG Dinosaur it's even more fun! The shop and the collections are pretty good and priced reasonably. Definitely a place to go with kids

Jon Bowes

Underrated museum. Kids and adults alike love the artfully-done nature displays

Zack MacGregor

The kids love it and entry is by donation. Some of it is getting very dated and worn out. The kids area has some broken cabinet doors for example

Elias Luo

Very nice environment and lot of things to see.

Reece Digney

Had a wonderful day out with the whole family here. Nice lift for those who need it (wheel chairs, strollers, etc.) 3 floors of exibits including a play room for kids. Very nice gift shop. Entrance by donation; dont know why they dont charge an entrance fee with how much they have here!

Robert Bailey

If you are coming in from a big city, don't expect too much - the scale of the museum is fit for the size of the city. That said, it's wonderful if you live here to have a museum of this quality available to take your family. Love the animal exhibits and the prehistory stuff and the display on native history is excellent.

Jason B

Great staff at this Museum, everyone was friendly and helpful. The donation entry is pretty cool. some of the displays are pretty aged and could use some updating. Overall had a great time and we will back

Shaantu Prajapati

Great information about first Nations, their history, life style and animals. It's free but to run museum they asked for donations, which is good. The great heritage and information needed to preserve. Feeling better when we see struggle they have faced

CD Turn

Like walking through nature. Love looking at all the animals and spending extra time finding them all. Fun to search with kids.

neil fisher

How can you not love this museum? The displays are super impressive, the changing exhibits are always interesting - the current Snakes Alive exhibit is freaking amazing and feel very modern. As an added bonus the research conducted by this awesome organization is world class :)

Chad Uleryk

This was the firat time i have in years. The updates are great. My 18 month son love the interactive displays. This place works on donations please give what you can.

shelly chychrun

What a wonderful place, for a min donation of $5 you get to experience a wonderful time all the while learning about the history and original people of this land. Plus there is a massive T-Rex Skeleton on display!!!!

Anoop Kumar

Very nice place...really liked Scotty ...lots of things are there to learn and see...very useful to learn and explore about Saskatchewan and its old culture..

Evan Morrison

Scotty is definitely the main attraction, there are other cool exhibits but it's seemed to be missing something.

Salina Stilborn

Our kids love the Paleo Pit play area downstairs and the new snake exhibit. Megamunch is a classic. We've attended community events in the cozy theatre as well. They have evening and weekend programs that I've heard good things about, but haven't checked out yet. Their birthday parties are great - we hosted our 6-year old's there and have also attended as guests. (You won't need decorations - the education room downstairs in beautifully painted with nature scenes). A very educational birthday party that kids really enjoy. As guests it was nice to tour the exhibits with our youngest while the older kids were at the party. Other than the snakes and the 'human impact on the environment' installation, not much has changed since we were there as kids, so I might not go there on my own. But, on the plus side, admission is free/donations. It's fun seeing the exhibits through our kids' eyes now - the old is new to them!

Danny Poloskei

I approached the front counter and asked, "How much does admission cost?" They responded with something to the effect of, "It's free, but we strongly recommend you donate the suggested donation amount." Long story short, I got guilted into paying for the admission since they were watching me with their judging eyes. The place is okay. There's a variety of educational and nature-related things to look at. When you're done with all that, there's a whole upper level filled with more stuff to glance at! The gift shop has lots of interesting and entertaining educational toys. Don't forget to check out Mega Munch while you're there - he has his own room somewhat close to the washrooms. It's probably worth checking out at least once, you lazy, uncultured baboon! Quit reading reviews and just go! It's free!

Troy Topp

This is a great museum, always worth visiting. My kids love it!

Shahnavaz Vora

Amazing place. Well maintained and great for children.

Shamsul Arefin Sajib

Amazing, although not very big, so many things to see. Ancient relics, paintings and other things

Kelly Rice

I've been going to the museum since I was a child. I love it, for sure an attraction for new comers. Great for kids!

Jason Bazylak

Small compared to some of the larger provincial museums, but a great place to visit. We go once a year when we visit Regina and this year it was the #2 thing that my 7 year old was looking forward to. Admission by donation is a wonderful deal for those who might be a bit more budget conscious. There is a nature detective worksheet that really appealed to my 7 year old, but is reading dependant (my 5 year old wasn't very excited about it).

Mayur Mehta

This museum provides knowledge and it is fun at the same time. Kids can enjoy all the exhibits, especially Scotty- the T-rex. Due to COVID restrictions, you need to call in and book a place prior to your visit but that gives you enough time and place to visit the museum securely. I would certainly like to visit it again.

Kim W

I highly recommend visiting this museum! Very well maintained exhibits, shockingly good taxidermy compared to most museums we have been to (we've been to alot all over Canada), very interesting displays and topics! Loved the native plants display, the incredible diaramas and the first nations section! Fascinating for kids and adults alike. Very friendly staff too! The first nations section was perfect for my grade 6 daughter who is studying the same topic in school right now! Very happy to have visited! It took about 3 hours to get through it all while paying attention to all the reading. Entry by donation. Great gift shop with local artists souvenirs!

Aigerim

Love love this place. A lot of interesting things to see with kids. Family time was fun. Recommended

Zohra Zahir

A gem of a place! Thanks to every single person who worked hard for all those details and of course all the volunteers. Good job!

Carter Lovelace

The Museum has always been one of my favorite places in the city. I'd visit often as a child and it helped to foster my love of science and learning. The addition of Eastend's own Scotty the T-Rex is an excellent upgrade from the increasingly unimpressive Mega Munch. (I wish I had taken a picture) I am disappointed by the disrepair of some of the older displays. None of the interactive learning centers are operational, the old computers are broken, keys missing from the boards. There's opportunity to breathe new life into these corners of the building. But besides those things, most of the displays remain immaculate, engaging, and breathtakingly beautiful. I still absolutely recommend everyone visit this institution and donate generously. The wax figures especially are very impressive.

Charlie Carlisle

Absolutely fantastic museum. Scotty the T-Rex is amazing and all the other displays are fascinating. Entry is by donation so you don't feel you have to stay for hours

Max D

There are nice exhibition here. You can see the agreement for treaty IV territory in this one. Is very interesting, especially for kids.

Rick Zotzman

Its a great museum to discover a lot of things about Saskatchewan you wouldn't normally consider and a nice little gift shop.

Mike Benjamin

The staff were friendly admission is just a donation so not expensive. A great way to spend an afternoon with loved ones.

Subin S

Must visited place in Regina. The only museum having the Largest and the smallest T rex Dinosaur in the world. The entrance was free, but we can donate by ourselves. The front end staffs were very friendly and nice to every visitors. The museum is having lot of historical illustrations which seems to be real and it includes the flora and fauna from Canada.

Antony Oduor

Everything is here: the lands and treaties, the wildlife and the firsts' way of life.

Carrieaf

Wonderful museum! Be sure to visit Megamuch. He was dressed up on the day we visited. My favorite was visiting Scottie the T-Rex. Stand and push the button and hear him (or her?!) roar. The museum is nicely laid out especially if visiting with children. There are nice couches throughout the museum to stop and relax. Lots of nice gifts in the gift shop.

Ryan Cormack

Nice museum. Good exhibits on snakes and aboriginals. Very well organized. Smaller than the Manitoba Museum, but definitely worth a visit.

F Rawlyk

A great little natural history museum with detailed dioramas of different ecosystems and animals, a history of people in Saskatchewan, and changing displays as well. I like the little garden out front with native prairie plants too. And it's all by donation, so it's accessible for all. All around, a great visit.

SomeGuy

I've been coming here for as long as i remember and its still good and recently its been getting better. Certain exhibits haven't changed but that's nothing bad because i still like to come around and view them. I'd recommend a donation of 15-20$ because this place really deserves it.

Joe P

Nice small museum. They support research at the university so very important to have in the city. The quality of the dioramas is amazing.

Dave Rolfson

Great value for the low donation admission price! My 4 year old loved the nature galleries and especially the dinosaurs. Not super big, but well worth a 90 minute trip!

Cassandra Smythe

Super good experience. It was the first time we went since COVID started and all protocols were met very well. Friendly staff and very clean.

Raj M

Great way to learn about past and present SK. Life size exhibits and other 3D models are superb. Can spend 1-4 hrs. It is free for public but donations are welcome. I recommend many visits.

Michelle Grodecki

Scotty exhibit is really neat. The kids loved it. We've been to the museum so many times but there's always something new for is to discover.

Marlène Da Silva

This is an amazing museum. Free admission with donation system. They deserve to receive good donations. The staff was very nice and helpful. You can get a free WiFi and find an interesting souvenir shop inside. You can learn a lot about our nature, the animals (with models real size and noise imitation) , the dinausorus and the indigenous. Also it's very well situated near the lake and the downtown of Regina. In the fall you can see the yellow leaves in the trees ???? I really recommend this museum.

Harvey Mary Emily-Ann

Lovely place to bring kid

Dylan Bourassa

Contains history of the dinos, Aboriginal First Nations, and unique dioramas of wildlife areas you can find Saskatchewan and other provinces. Worth checking out.

Claire Hanna

Big fan!!! It’s by donation so accessible to families of all income brackets. Very informative about the biodiversity and history of Saskatchewan, as well as interactive for children. The rotating exhibit Zoom was very interesting and a little creepy! Clean facilities, very welcoming!

Miles Reid

Great museum. Very good exibits. Small but well priced. I highly recommend a visit.

AlibabaChau

A great place for kids to amazing and understand nature.

Amanda Aguilar

Good place to learn natural history of Saskatchewan

bakhtawar 1

good exhibits, but not enough time to look around which of course is understandable considering covid and all.

Sarah Edwards

Great place to explore with kids, but if they are little be prepared to do a lot of reading. Currently under construction for the new t-rex exhibit, but their robo-trex Mega Munch is still terrifying toddlers daily. ????

Melody Friesen

The museum had some really great exhibits that taught us a lot about the history of Canada. I loved the dinosaur exhibit and learning more about the first nations and treaty history. It's also really nice that this is a donation run museum, which makes it affordable for everyone to enjoy.

Alric Reid

Really great family learning experience!

sean tseng

Nice

James Kirkpatrick

It's a nice place to visit. Especially love the interactive exhibits. Not a huge fan of nothing new in years though. They change a few things around a little but hasn't changed at all since I was a kid.

shlok shah

It an amazing place and the amount of detail in exhibits and the information you get is priceless. Its free to enter and after looking at the museum anyone would want to donate, that's how good it is. I was most impressed with Scotty , the biggest T-Rex in the world, all I can say is Scotty is enormous.

farzod darzi

This place will educate you on Saskatchewan's wild life in the past and present. Its great for younger kids, but you will find it interesting if you have curiosity. They have different exhibitions in the basement which is great. There is no fee but you can donate if you like.

Alexandra Beres

Great family fun activity. Lots to learn and such a great adventure for a donation based place. My daughters favorite part was the fossilized dinosaur poop. ????

Ayo Babalola

A beautiful place that tells the story of Saskatchewan Canada in flora and fauna. A number of the species on display are only found in the province and not anywhere else in the world. I love, love the indigenous music that plays around the rotating dressed native man. And you only donate as you please, entrance is free. If you're a nature picture person, find here your rest.

Viraj Shah

Good info about ecoregions in Saskatchewan

Ryan Granson

I'm from Alberta we were visiting family in Regina for the weekend and the museum was by far one of the best highlights of the trip. All the displays and exhibits were very detailed and very well arranged. My kid loved the interactive dinosaur area for kids if you have some spare time and $15 for a family donation, I highly recommend the royal Saskatchewan museum.

oscar chocano

Highly recommend it, especially for kids

Jonathan Boschman

An amazing place to bring your inquisitive little ones for an afternoon of wide-eyed learning. Do not scrimp on the aboriginal and treaty history, it is important. The staff is incredible and always very engaging.

Karl Davidson

Dinosaur and nature exhibits were great! Native/Indigenous exhibit was awful. Exactly the kind of information you'd find in a textbook which overlooks the natives entirely and doesn't inform on any of the actually important parts of that history. The exhibit is 25 years old and really needs to be redesigned. Not really worth the visit.

Brent Miller

Pretty good museum, exhibits are well maintained, and are both visually engaging and informative. Features a series of exhibits showcasing indigenous culture on the plains. However, much of the information is outdated, as with the prehistory exhibits, and the indigenous exhibits use prinarily historical sources, rather than archaeological. However, considering most exhibits were established in the late 80s, it has held up spectacularly, and the indigenous exhibits were a collaborative effort between the museum and community elders, creating a respectable synergy. Also features a gift-shop, auditorium, and children's activity area. Be sure to visit Megamunch, he needs friends.

Love Me

Wow! Best of the best ????????

Graham Malazdrewicz

The capacity limit combined with the nature of a museum made social distancing a breeze. Easily felt like the safest and family outing we've done since the start of COVID. Perfect cold weather family activity.

Joel Mryglod

A little history, some walking, a dinosaur that roars. 5 stars why not!.

Tess Ogundero-Shoyoye

Excellent display with habitat sounds and write-ups explaining what you see. There's free parking. There's a little shop in there where you can get stuffed animals and dinosaurs, and other kids' toys! There're hand sanitizing stations and social distancing signs on the floor. There's a washroom. It's in the Wascana Park area, so you can go for a nice walk/ have a picnic after. There's a $5 optional goodwill donation. I was very happy to donate. The staff are very polite and efficient. I will definitely visit again.

Anne Carolina

Great place to get to know the history of animal and indigenous life in Saskatchewan! Oh, and to see T-rex! Children love it!

Justine “Tini” Stilborn

The exhibitions are rendered so well, the depth of fowls captured is amazing. It's blows the museum of natural history in New York out of the water. I wish our museum was bigger, but I'll talk quality over quantity any day.

Bahareh Esfahbod

This is a great place to spend hours. It's really easy to navigate through exhibits, and through time. The place is very clean and well organized. Admission fee is by donation, but I decided to bring back my little one again and again, so I purchased family membership. This summer (2019), they have a T-Rex show, which my daughter loves very much. They have a parking lot here, and it's free. It takes about 2 hours to visit the museum. If you have a kid, don't forget to check Paleo PIT as well, they would enjoy it a lot. Their gift shop also has a good variety of souvenirs from Saskatchewan.

Brian Chow

The admission is by donation, and the museum portion is on one wing of the building. I started with the lower of the two floors. The first exhibit was on indigenous snakes. Then, it moved on prehistoric period of the Province of Saskatchewan. As I walked through this one way exhibit, I could sense the time progression. The second floor focuses more on the contemporary geography and issues of the Province. The exhibits featured realistic dioramas. It is a great place to visit as a tourist and for locals who want something indoors.

D Schmidt

Probably some of the best COVID-19 protocols in place. The staff were very friendly and helpful in making sure we had a great time!

Marta Koszmider

Really great.. First time with family from Germany. Second time with family from Vancouver. Impressive art & love taking photos with the exhibits. ????????????????????????????????????????????????

Robbie Anderson

The mesuem has upgraded by adding the bones of the new T-rex Scotty. We will re visit wheb the new exhibits are complete. The paleo pit could also use a bit of a clean up.

Wendy Blacke

We've been here dozens of times. With young kids it's fun because they learn and experience something new every time they go as they grow older. However, the recent addition of Scotty adds a great deal of excitement for adults as well who are getting bored with the same old displays. The recent renovation of the sign out front has really updated this museum, which it desperately needed! Great job RSM!

Isaac Regier

Cool exhibits, friendly staff

Samantha Popp

Came here to do research for a biology project in University. It's a smaller museum but I really enjoyed it. I'm a huge history buff and love going to museums so this was another great experience going to a museum! They have an upper and lower level to the museum so make sure you check out both and they have an awesome dinosaur! Definitely my favorite part

Hefzul Bari

Awesome place. The T-Rex and all other elements is really amazing. Its like walking through history.

Rumana Afroz Sultana

It’s free!! It is a small museum i would say. But great experience.

Paris Phillips

A very nice and quiet atmosphere. The artifacs and display are very well arranged with supporting descriptions. It serves as a very informative exibits for people of all ages.

Sarah

I drove an hour in with my little boy and husband. The museum is nice as always and clean although I was sad to see one section still closed.. I didn't mind... but I will say the older lady working the gift shop was very rude. Not only did she talk gossip with the younger gentleman in front of us but she rushed us and made my son feel bad for being there. Smh for this reason alone ill not go to the gift shop again.

Ken Alecxe

Our whole family loves the RSM. You can keep going gack time and again and learn something new. The new exhibit of Scotty the T-Rex is outstanding and the sound effects are outstanding. All the exhibits ate extremely well done.

Amanda Burback

Regina is my home city. And as far back as I can remember, I have always visited the museum. As often as I could. When I come home with my kids, and have time to hangout, it's on my list.

Katherine Down

Great little museum. Appreciated the wildlife dioramas, they were really well done.

Lance Lafonde

AA ++ cheap place to take the family to kill time in regina, if it's your first time , it will blow your mind, the kids will love it, and even if you've been before, still lots of good reading to do, plus during the hot months it has A/C.

Alexis Nyandwi

Impressed in the displays, details and I even learnt a lot. Should have taken more time to go through and learn all of what's on display that we see and at times pass in Saskatchewan and how it balances our lives

Sean Clarke (fionnmaccumhail51)

My daughter loves it here. My favorite also. Very friendly and helpful staff and Mega Much is the best.

Keltie Takes on The World

The staff was very friendly, welcoming and informative. The displays were beautiful and had a lot of good information to read and learn from. I especially liked the indigenous displays with all of their information and beautiful artwork. I plan to come back soon with my kids.

Erica Unknown

Awesome adventure with a toddler. Call ahead to make sure there is space to visit. Everything was very clean feeling and a lot of sanitizer stations.

Matthew Deans-Beynham

Natural history and the evolution of our planet and all the life on earth are extremely well presented here. Abundant examples of local flora and fauna through the ages, combine seamlessly with more recent human history and etymology. Gift shop has some nice local art items. Lots of taxidermy and models. Kids loved the many diorama showing everything from habitats to geology.

Pil Gor

I've come here for years and years. I love this place. But it's really heartbreaking when exhibits get retired and replaced. Lots of nostalgia lost

Deepak Sharma

Very nice live looking exhibits. Free entry with option to donate. One can learn a lot about the province.

Gloria Evans

Admission is by donation. Great gift shop. Hosts other events like Fringe Festival in July. Home of MegaMunch. Lots of great information about how our province once was. Lots of neat displays with featured areas.

Tara Freeman

Fun and educational. A nice place to spend an afternoon.

Sam Champion

I go to story time on every other Monday with some children. The story teller is amazing and always sends us home with a craft to do. (we can't stay to do it with her because we need to get back to daycare). She has great enthusiasm and the children LOVE her.

mark wilson

Awesome place for all ages. New Scotty the world's largest Tyranosaurus is amazing. This place still keeps the same magic i remember as a kid.

Khalid Malik

It is a fantastic place with exhibits that are world class. Very colorful and realistic displays and thoroughly detail-oriented sets.We like it better than the ROM in Toronto.

Warren Crowe

Very interesting and fun

Andrae Johnson

Must visit in Regina, fun for the whole family.

Jason Bill

Well displayed and easy to read descriptions. Very family friendly.

Heather Woolhouse

We always have a great time at the RSM, it is one our families favourite spots! The staff is always amazing, the exhibits are great - I love their new temporary exhibits, all of them have been amazing. Definitely a must see.

Andrew Dyck

Best museum in YQR. There are many displays and a focus on the history of Saskatchewan from a geological, ecological, and cultural perspective. Mega Munch (animatronic T-Rex) is always a hit with kids and there is also a paleo pit for other kids activities. Can’t wait for the Renos to be complete with a feature of Scotty, a full size T-Rex skeleton found in SK.

Arjun Damodar

The effort required to maintain the museum without selling tickets is just too much. Great exhibition of artifacts.

Amanda Evans

Great museum. Been there lots since I was a kid. Loved when they had the live snakes exhibit. Mot a fan of the current "zoom" bug exhibit though. All in all, it's a great place to go for family time!

Lenard Vatamaniuk

Great place to kill a couple of hours, and casually observe a broad assortment of fossilized creatures that had their wretched lives abbreviated by a rogue comet striking the Yucatan peninsula in Mexico 65.5 million years ago!

Adam Beneke

This is one of the best museums I’ve been to that let me geek out about ecosystems, past and present, and Indigenous culture. If you’re someone who is interested in the natural world, evolution, and learning about Indigenous culture, you will easily spend 3-4 hours here. The dioramas are the most beautiful and well maintained I’ve ever seen. A one hour visit to this museum can only be achieved if you’re here for just one or two of the sections.

Luz Cerda (DominicanosEnSaskatchewan)

Excellent experience when we went there.

Tomo Suru

Enjoyable. Informative and entertaining. Well worth the time.

Nicky Senger

Loving the new exhibits! Staff are very friendly. My family and I are looking forward to the new stuff coming!

Kennedy Tessier

I always love going to this museum. It seems they are always getting new exhibits and the recent one is zoom and it's awesome! I like how it's about butterflies and also find its great for children as there is the Paleo pit. It's a place place for children. As well it's very informative as well.

Victoria Mann

Fantastic natural history museum and perfect location on the boundary of Wascana Park - spent a day exploring both and will go again.

Reade Holtslander

Love this place. The kids love it, too. If you're interested in natural history you should check it out.

Andrew Deegan

Fun museum in the heart of the city. Admission is pay what you want for donation (suggestion of $10 a person) Museum has good COVID policies in place. Very easy to book time to visit, and often ample availability during the week. Not a very large museum, however they do have a big focus on First Nation histories

Paramjit Saini

Wonderful museum with lots of educational information

Doug Schultz

Awesome displays and great people. Admission is ridiculously cheap!

karen whitman

I loved the indigenous display!

Gord Hall

Extremely well done! The artists work is exceptional, the taxidermy too. The collected items of early history, indigenous life and pioneer times cleverly handled. We spent only two hours there but the museum really requires two days to do it justice. Last visited perhaps thirty years ago ... it was super then and is so Much more so now.

Huy Nguyen

Always a wonderful experience at this museum. We and our kids all love it!

Kristy Lee

I take my little one here all the time! She loves it! Great displays and the best part is it's free ????

Alphynpeak G

Entrance is free. ( there is a donation box, any amount will do ) very presentable. Just walks away from the saskatchewan legislative building and wascana park.

Carter

Lots of fun going here as a kid for field trips, but more than 70% of the building hasn't changed in over a decade so going back multiple times gets a bit redundant.

Free Jazz

I visited the lobby and the staff member told me that the museum was for members only (it was a "member's only" day for the new t-rex bones). The Vancouver Art Gallery has member's only openings but this is done after regular hours so it doesn't inconvenience the general public and especially people visiting from other parts of the country and world. I find it disappointing and inconsiderate of the museum to have this kind of day.

Prashant Tripathi

The museum is far more educational than I expected. It covers the history of Saskatchewan with a view of what was going on with the world in the same period. The anthropocene extinction exhibit is really topical and progressive. Great job.

lo LiLi 羅麗麗

Good visit Museum for family.

Spencer Burridge

A wonderful combination of Saskatchewan history, nature, & a giant T-Rex ????

Asad “Arcane”

A small but very fun musuem that has free admission. The exhibits and collection are very good and their snakes alive section has real snakes. The absolute best place to see in Regina.

wrenee alexander

Website ...designs & colours which people USED SB USE. Also... This gallery offers a dramatic view.... perhaps not the word. Think horrific view

Quentin Friesen

The new Trex Exhibit is really great. It was a nice surprise after such a long time of not going there It's a really eye catching display with a lot of cool information.

Mohammad Reaj Remon

A great place for history lover's

Brayden MacKay

i went here a few times over the year i i keep remembering that it is boring and awful

Karl Brady

Cool, fun, interactive. Great day out.

Greg Blenkin

Really well laid out as a timeline. Exhibits were important and relevant. Will be even better when renovations are done.

Wendy Peciak

My 8 yr old grand daughter loved it and thought it awesome except the snakes. I thought it was gloomy and the displays were thick with dust and honestly I was a lil disgusted.

James Leonew

Really cool displays. Lots of awesome dinosaur bones and many many wildlife displays. The kids really Loved that they could get so close to some of the many animals that are in display here.

Aidan Hitchcock

Great place and lots of interesting exhibitions to look at. Good to kill a couple of hours and maybe even learn a couple of things!

Gael Dumontet

It's a pretty small museum. It's very educational, with a full exhibit on Saskatchewan's fauna, flora and geography. Most exhibits are dioramas of sorts, and there were a couple dinosaur skeletons. It's good for a couple hours visit. Admission fee is by donation with a suggested 6$ for 1 adult. Suitable for kids who will probably enjoy the carefully reproduced animal models.

Linnea Olson

Loved the museum! My three year old was scared of Scotty, the T-Rex, but enjoyed many of the other parts of the dinosaur exhibit. I was impressed with the exhibits and write ups. Definitely will be back again!

Al Fenske

Great staff, gift shop and displays throughout museum. Great place to spend a few hours exploring the history of Saskatchewan.

Kareenie Beanie

very fun and informative definitely recommend admission is by donation and everything is really well maintained

Clair Jones

What a wonderful place to explore. So much information and the kids love it.

Sandra Walker

The native garden is amazing, all the different bees and butterfly it's nonstop movement. Then look at garden with just cultivater nowhere near the action. So Please plant native gardens it helps with bio- diversity.

C.

Very educational exhibits! Amazing for kiddos, and they sell beautiful hand made jewelry and art from local indigenous peoples.

Lindsey Leibel (Lindsey)

Awesome place to visit for families of all ages. Scotty's new exhibit is even better than I anticipated

David Bell

Great natural history museum.

Google Girl

I just love this place, they have great exhibits and the kids love them. Whenever we go to Regina we make a note to stop in and see what is new!

Cristina D.

It was free fun. Good for a family outing that won't break the bank. Join the thousands of us that have pressed MegaMunch's button. It does need an extra fundraiser though to switch the exhibits up.

Patricia Duchesne

Small but very interesting. Excellent displays of Saskatchewan flora and fauna. Excellent Indigenous peoples of Saskatchewan exhibit explaining their history created either by or incollaboration with the different people's of Saskatchewan.

Graham Campbell

Very friendly staff! The dinosaur exhibits had lots of replica fossils that were out in the open for my son to touch. The paleo pit was a great space for him to run around, do some colouring, and interact with the artifacts as well.

Spenny Michel

A large chunk of the museum was closed to upgrade/renovation but it is still great with what they have got! My daughter had fun doing the scavenger hunt and the staff were pretty great! Gift shop is insanely expensive but the museum itself is free and u can leave a donation if u enjoyed urself.. all around just a great place for the family when u have a low budget and wants something fun to do! I am excited to see the new exhibit they are building!!

Paula Estin

My 4 year old daughter has loved going there since she could barely walk. She has learned so much! I only have 2 complaints: 1 is that now with the way the new Scotty exhibit is set up, people are tending to go through the gallery floors backwards & missing certain aspects of it as there isn't proper signage saying where to begin. The 2nd is the auto flush toilets in the lobby bathroom! They are loud and aggressive, and flush way too frequently...when you walk in the door, when you're only half done peeing, and sometimes a couple more times if you're in there with a toddler helping them and there's any movement. Otherwise, it's a great facility with great staff!

Alysha G

Had a great visit here! Would love to stop in again when we have more time!

Lorne Willits

Lots of good exhibits and an interesting place to take the grandkids. I'm just a bit disappointed that the Isle of Bays exhibit is gone.

Chris Bell

Don’t worry! I’m pretty sure the construction is done. This is one of the best museums in North America. They are always constantly changing the displays. It is a good place to take a family it is very easy to navigate.

Matthew Walker

Very good for the kids especially toddlers that like animals and my wife

Don Greggain

This brought back some great childhood memories but the displays are very well done, educational in brilliant ways, and well organized Great family experience

Lana J

Such a cool museum by donation . Diaramas that captivated my kids for 2 hours.

Khazneh Family

Lots to see, admission is a donation... the museum is clean and well maintained. A few of the exhibits had poor lighting or no lighting.. which made it hard to see. The detail in some of the exhibits are amazing!

Carrie Cornelisse

Love the museum but I wasn't visiting this time, I was in a walkathon out in the park area.

Bill Parker

My wife and I were visiting from Calgary Sept. 3rd/18 and stopped by the museum about 2:30 p.m. or so. We are both from Regina and have fond memories of the museum from our childhood and with our kids (Brenda Baker, Mega Munch, Lanterns on the Lake, etc.) While browsing in the gift shop we overheard the attendant behind the cash drawer comment to an English couple, who previously said they were from around London but visiting family, that people usually only come to Regina if they have family there. Wow, not very good PR for either the museum or Regina!!! Better get that negative attitude about the Queen City turned around. Wascana Park, the Leg Bldgs and lake are amazing, without comparison in Calgary, or a lot of other places. Overall, though we noted a lack of maintenance around the bandshell grounds, Wascana Park and the museum were very busy. Be proud of where you work and live or move on!! Bill & Judy Parker Calgary

debra anne brown

My grandson's love the museum. We try to go several times a year. There are many different galleries and displays to enjoy.

Allen Klassen

Even though they are under construction right now (Feb 2019) they were so helpful and informative. Theresa is a wonderful guide through the First Nations Gallery!

Pratheeksha R

Loved the museum. Was very informative and educational. The life size models and the diagrams are spot-on. We had a great time here.

Vitaliy S

Amazing place, lots of interesting things. Very well organized and detailed.

aruna p

Great place for kids!! Well maintained. T-Rex was a great with kids. Also the wascana place just across the street makes it a great picnic spot for families.

Amanda Jobin

Come here with my family all the time . Good way to spend a few hours.

Robbie Oh

Super interesting place for family and especially for kids. Nice display and so detail displayed models. Definitely will visit again!!!

Cameron Cole

Well i went to see the new renos they did for Scotty the new T Rex Skelton . Its suppose to be one of the largest and most complete T Rexs out there. It is impressive as the skeleton stands so high it reaches past the second floor . There amazing and unique views from both the first and second floor . The renovation is very modern.the downside is that it really draws attention to the outdated rest of the museum especially the lower level. I really do like this museum and find it entertaining and educational.

Adam Vengroff

I believe it to be a good exhibit. However, for some reason the museum was running a schedule. You only had an hour. To look through the entire museum. My family and I on a learning tour(We pulled our kids from school). Right when we got to the Indigenous history part of the museum were informed that our time slot is now over. They booked 1 hour time slots. !!! CoVID.! Some scared adults from the science centre, decided this was the best way to combat the flu. The whole reason, was to help educate my children. To show what the federal government of Canada has done in the past. To show them Kanata's real history. Timed tours don't work for people using this place as a learning tool. Simply not enough time.

Swapna Simham

Scotty was a real treat...everything else was great as well !!!

L Cubs

Great museum with very affordable admission. I was impressed and will be back. I went with a 3 year old and 5 year old, each really liked it. It would be a nice bonus if there were some French as well.

Clarence Wipple

Very nice little museum, wonderfully capturing Saskatchewan's history. The T-rex is amazing.

Brent Sellers

Nice variety of exhibits displaying the natural and cultural history of Saskatchewan with focus on wildlife, plantlife, geology, and First Nations. Our kids appreciated the elements just for them; the play area, and the scavenger hunt with a small prize at the end. Entry is by a suggested donation of $5 per person. There is an ATM on site. Gift shop, washrooms, coat rooms, vending machine. Close proximity to beautiful park space.

Christian Allary

I especially enjoyed the exhibits pertaining to the original people of this land although i feel more information should b made available regarding the treaties signed as well as introduction and implementation of the indian act and its primary purpose

karla

Really enjoyed the 150 for 150 exhibit on Canada Day! The framed native plants and leaves was displayed beautifully, too.

Sarah Ludlow

A very high quality natural history museum - everyone should go, visitors and locals alike!

Sikkibahm1899

Very nice museum, and free to boot (donations welcome). Stopped here to get out and use my legs on drive to Alaska, was a very nice and educational pit stop. Would definitely recommend checking it out, wish I had more time to stay, I stayed about an hour but probably would have taken another hour to go through everything at a reasonable speed.

Dale Wolowski

A great blend of information and interactivity. The quality of the exhibits is what struck me the most. No deteriorating or dust covered statues here. Kids will love the dinosaurs

Cassandra Lefebvre

So cool been here once before when I was a kid and it's still as cool as it was then so glad I got to bring my son here

Mitu Bhoumik

Wonderful museum. We just loved it.

Christopher Lui

Great museum with lots of exhibits representing Saskatchewan's widelife and landscape!

Abigail Sadowski

Nice museum. Staff are friendly and good collection. I am really sad to see that there's no children's programming anymore. Miss the geology display as well.

Mike Johnson

I stood waiting at the front desk for someone to tell me what to do, but the four of them just stood there talking and ignored me. I ended up just walking in and figuring it out myself. The exhibits were great, and so was the gift shop.

Matthew Littlemore

Kids cant get enough of mega munch and the paleo pit. The rest of the museum we kind of rush through stopping at anything that piques theee interest

Deepak Shrestha

Small but verities of taste. Can be visited within an hour - time can be saved for another more places.

Cristy Tourond

Love coming here! Always something new to see!

Marcus Dyck

Free to attend!!! Free!!! Leave a donation if you got some change. They have done a fantastic job. They sometimes have movie nights for super cheap! This is really nice as it's one of the only places to catch a flick downtown.

Amanda Dionne

Clean, friendly staff, gift shop was well organized. LOVE the "soft" items like clothes/stuffies were wrapped in bags to be more germ free. Lots of great information and facts here

Kay Lee

This place is great for all ages! Great learning experience and very friendly staff :)

Matt Brown

A good little museum! They have some pretty top notch exhibits and I learned a lot!

sara b

Well put together displays about the different landscapes and micro environments of Saskatchewan and how the resident wildlife overcome the challenges of the harsh winters. Mixture of landscape dioramas and background paintings with many species represented and detailed. Interactive sounds of the creatures you're looking at activated by motion in the area. Very detail oriented for the readers/wanderers but interactive enough for kids to be entertained. Also have some video areas and vocal recordings presenting some of the information. Lots of sitting throughout for those who need to sit.

Jim Hall

We saw three great blues bands at the Museum on Friday night as part of the Regina Blues Festival. The acoustics were really good and there's no bad seats in the house. The Museum is a great venue for the Friday night of the annual Blues Festival. $43.00 for a ticket is very reasonable for 3 bands of this calibre.

Katherine Gilks

There have been some wonderful exhibit upgrades since last year!

Chris Depko

This is a great place for field trips and family outings. I believe its a recommended donation of $20 per family but no one harasses you for not paying. They're expanding again currently so there is some construction but its still always a nice adventure for kids.

Rebecca Rempel

Fantastic place! Friendly staff and great exhibits!

Maria Trang

Great place to visit for newcomers, visitors or parents with kids. There are many kinks of dino fossils to discover. You can learn about first nation and their culture here too. My kids love this place and we will visit again for sure.

PuPP1977

Had a great time on my visit here. Great exhibits with lots of artifacts. Can learn alot with a visit to this museum. Great that there is no charge to enter, only a suggested $5 donation. Great for families

Tina Mal

The diaramas were so life like and the attention to educating people to the amazing beginnings of Saskatchewan was definitely well worth the visit!

Michele May

This is a wonderful Museum with lots to see and learn. Great place for everyone to visit and some exhibits are interactive. This a great place for schools to visit and learn. It is always fun to see the dinosaurs especially Mega Munch on his birthday. The museum also puts on special days with parties or interesting things to do. Kids must visit the kid zone - always an entertaining place for them to learn new things.

Nicole Wurm

Fabulous! The staff were friendly and helpful and the diplays wonderful in their detail and information. A great place to visit!

Dave Evanochko

It's a great low cost place to take the kids for an informative and entertaining outting. I would wholeheartedly recommend it for any age group. Animal lovers will especially delight in the displays .

Joanne F

Displays were very life like. Kids found it very interesting.

Dallas Korchynski

It's good to take the kids and have them explore the exhibits. They are starting to have new exhibits more often which was overdue.

Jessica Braden

Had a great day with the family here. Really enjoyed the dinosaur show.

Vicki Kowal

A good lesrning experience for young children

SimpleLife D

We love it, my kids always looking forward to visit the museum. Glad the museum will change every so often to keep it fresh.

Darrell A Weinberger

Like the new dinosaurs exhibit, still always amazing to see Saskatchewan history. Can't believe our province is so full of rich and exciting past

Laura Covarrubias

Great place to take the kids. Interactive and very clean. Staff super friendly and courteous.

Cam S

Took a group of kids here and it was great. The staff were nice and helpful, the exhibits were great, and the kids loved it.

Dean Mack

Under construction so a limited experience....calling the museum before going to see if construction has been complete would offer the best experience

Pauline Crone

Great place for children to leatn and explore! Can't wait for T rex!

Debbie Brownings

I still remember seeing Megamunch for the first time!!

M Kaukab

They did a good job of blending the background with the fore front animal statues to give a panoramic view. Everyone will be more knowledgeable on the way back. Thank you for putting the show

Kathy Pamer

My granddaughter and I had a great time at the Museum.

Shane K

Good place to take the kids when looking for something to do on a Sunday afternoon. Free parking and free admission. The museum is located in north Wascana Park in Regina, Saskatchewan. There are static displays and others that are interactive. There is a play area as well where the kids can burn off some energy. If you come to visit you must pay a visit to Megamunch. As of April 2019 he's wearing construction gear as the Museum is currently renovating for a new major display.

Derek Williams

The museum is small compared some of the larger cities, but hosts a changing 'travelling exhibit' a couple times a year which adds some freshness to the museum. Kids will especially love Megamunch the robotic T-rex, and the Paleo Pit play area. The theatre at the museum is a welcome bonus that periodically plays movies and offers snack for low low prices and the park surrounding the museum is great for picnics. There is a wheelchair accessible entrance as well as elevator inside the museum and a small gift shop as well. Museum entry is via donation and there are staff available for guided tours should you require it.

sandeep kalsia

Very nice place well maintained and regina*s jewel. Kids love it. Staff is very helpful. First nations sections are awesome very real feeling great work. Infact all the art work is precious.

Monika Hooper

This is a review of the kids camp at the museum. I sent 4 children (ages 5 to 10) to the Wet and Wild summer camp at the museum. The kids spent the entire day in the Paleo Pit in the basement except for 45 minutes outside at lunch. All the kids did the same crafts so they weren't age appropriate for the 9 or 10-year-old. The kids weren't taken to explore the museum and were told they couldn't contact us. After the first day, none of the kids wanted to go back because the activities were not engaging and the counsellors didn't treat them well. I let staff know my concerns but they did not refund any of my money.

Sam D

Great displays, especially in the First Nations exhibit.
