I absolutely LOVED this tour. I still cannot believe I saw the bears as close as we did and as many bears as we did and the bald eagles at the end of the trip made the day.
(Translated) Great tour with many Grizzlies, even 3 babies with mom were to sift (Original) Super Tour mit viele Grizzlies, sogar 3 Babys mit Mama waren zu sichten
This was a fantastic tour. My wife and I went in late July 2013 and saw more than we expected. The boat was equipped for about 100 passengers and I believe it must have been about half full. The staff was knowledgeable and very informative. We saw more than grizzly bears, including humpback whales and seals. The camera shots of the bears were great. I had an SLR camera with a 100-300 zoom lens and captured some great photos. Much closer shots than our experience in Denali, Alaska, a few years ago. I would recommend this to anyone interested in seeing grizzly bears in their natural habitat.
18th August 2019. What a great trip thank you to Adventure Tours ! Great vessel crew n captain. I never expected to see what I saw and we were lucky to see the Hump Whales “Bubble Net Fishing” Photos by Rob Snell Panasonic LUMIX G80 with 100-400mm Leica Lens.
Very well-run operation. Very comfortable and modern ship for the excursions, with both indoor and outdoor viewing areas on three levels. Ship reached 45 km/h on our trip, so can quickly reach the excursion areas around Prince Rupert. Friendly, knowledgable and informative crew, including the captain. Did a great job of quickly finding different groups of whales in areas around the sound. Can warmly recommend this.
Lovely afternoon if the weather is on your side.

Fantastic trip! Wonderful opportunity to see the beautiful west coast of BC. I recommend going for the 8 hour grizzly tour, which only runs from mid-May to the end of July. Despite its name, you also get to watch whales, eagles, and sea lions too! The ticket is worth the price in my opinion if you love nature!! The vessel is large and comfortable with plenty of room for viewers to spot the grizzlies on the beach. There are life vests, two washrooms, binoculars to borrow, and onboard snacks and beverages. Your ticket already includes one non-alcoholic beverage and a sandwich of your choice (ham & cheese, tuna, egg salad, vegetarian). The staff are excellent in making sure your tour is fun. They are very knowledgeable, I enjoyed listening to their commentaries and explanations of the surrounding area. Look out for Pam, who will treat you like family! Thank you very much!
Great tour. We got to see a whale breach!
I went for the tour to the khutzeymateen grizzly bear sanctuary. The staff on the boat are very friendly. However the tour is clearly made for families going on a one day "adventure tour" and even though the staff clearly explained the rules and how to behave in the sanctuary there is to many people on the boat for is to be possible. The boat is also to big and to notice for a trip to the sanctuary
(Translated) Super tour with a heated boat, of course, with outdoor area on 3 levels. Very experienced crew who knows exactly where to find the bears, whales and sea eagles. (Original) Super Tour mit einem beheizten Boot, natürlich auch mit Außenbereich auf 3 Ebenen. Sehr erfahrene Crew die genau weiß, wo man die Bären, Wale und Seeadler finden kann.
This trip was well worth the money spent just for the scenery along the way. Seeing the bears, whales and eagles was a plus. Wonderful captain and assistants working on the boat and all so knowledgeable about the area and wildlife.
What an incredible whale watching experience my grandchildren and I had today. It doesn't get any better then this. There were multiple breaches, pec slaps, tail slaps, spy hopping and non stop bubble net feeding. Thank you Captain Doug Davis for making this a memorable day.
Great Day on the water, fantastic crew ..... very informative and a very comfortable boat.
We had an excellent day travelling into the Khutzeymateen Grizzly Sanctuary on May 31, 2017. We had an overcast day with a bit of slight drizzle which only enhanced the photos that we took. We saw 18 grizzlies in total (three mothers, each with triplets, another with twins and three single bears) - an incredible experience. We also made a couple of stops along the way to watch some humpback whales feeding, some sea lions and then to watch a feeding of the bald eagles. The boat is comfortable, clean and very safe. The captain and crew were very informative, pleasant and very helpful. An experience that I would strongly recommend to everyone.
This is one of the best wildlife adventures one can possibly have. We took the Grizzly Bear Trip to the Khutzeymateen Grizzly Bear Sanctuary in North Western British Columbia. The trip is organized by the Prince Rupert Adventure Tours Company on a 100 seater Catamaran vessel which is silent and swift on the water. Not only did we get to see some bears, but we also sighted humpback whales, dolphins, a sea lion and some bald eagles along the way. A packed lunch and a beverage is included in the price of the trip. The guides are very knowledgeable and informative not only about the wildlife but also about the countryside and small towns and the environment of the region. A highly recommended trip and must-do when in Prince Rupert.
These guys are awesome. They took us to an area near the the border with Alaska and found a pod of 12-15 humpback whales that were bubble net feeding. I had a good professional telephoto zoom lens that went to 400 mm but didn't need that much reach most of the time. I believe even the point and shoot shooters were getting good stuff. Those without cameras went away with some great neurochromes. This was well worth the $$ Marv Boulder, Colorado
Absolutely amazing trip, the vessel, crew and sights were excellent. We went on the 12th July afternoon trip and had the best of times. Saw orca, grizzlies (including 3 yearlings with their mum), humpbacks, eagles....WOW! Would certainly recommend this trip to EVERYONE! The crew were very informative, friendly and helpful. Would go again and again if I could. A big thank you to the captain and the crew for an amazing day.
as a semi-pro photographer I took the Grizzly bear tour while I was in Prince Rupert waiting for a photography tour to start. I was killing time. I was extremely surprised to find the tour very informative and I came back with a lot of good pictures. The staff was great and the scenery amazing
I sent my parents on this trip for their respective 70th Birthday's. They absolutely loved it and would recommend it to everyone.
Didn't go on a tour but they were very friendly and informative
Don't miss the Grizzly Bear excursion in Prince Rupert. Boat was very comfortable and warm. Saw bears up close and one large Grizzly didn't seem to mind that we were so close. Best part was when we got almost back to port and the captain called in the eagles--there had to be 30-40 swarming the boat. Saw some beautiful scenery and GREAT photos. Best excursion we have ever taken.
The staff were very friendly and knowledgable. I went on a cold weekend and we went on the small boat. The only hot drink offered on the boat was coffee which I don't drink and there were 2 kids on the boat that were not offered anything else. We did not get as close to shore as I had expected, and I believe the only people who got good photos would be the ones with very long lenses on their SLR camers. I got a few shots but the bears were so far away that they are not as great as I had hoped. The lunch was safeways sandwiches and granola bars for dessert, now I didn't expect a gourmet meal but at $225.00 I did expect something a little better. All in all I would not recomment this tour to my friends and family, for the cost it just wasn't that great.
What a great day!! May 26 was sunny and warm and the ocean was calm for what turned out to be a fantastic experience! Exceptionally kind and knowledgeable staff were contentious, cognizant of guests needs and safety, and provided interesting interpretation as we sailed along. My delight was that we saw about 13 grizzly bears, 58 Bald Eagles, 1 black bear, numerous porpoises, a whack of seals, piles of pelagic birds, 3 humpback whales and some of the most stunning country that I have ever seen. Thank you P.R. Adventure Tours. My money was well spent and I'll be back!! Cam
From start to finish it was a very well run journey. I hoped for the best and ended up with the exceptional. 17 bears, 2 whales, countless seals and an eagle display that was breathtaking.. absolutely stunning!!!
Amazing day and a great crew!
