The Sanctuary is great and definitely worth visiting but consider how to go there. We took the Prince Rupert Adventure Tour. It was expensive and with a big boat-100 people. The crew was very friendly and tried to entertain us but as always there were some screaming children and tourists that don't know how to behave. They scared the bears and it was impossible to view them. If you have a chance go there with a small zodiac boat

Visiting the Khutzeymateen Grizzly Bear Sanctuary was on top of our bucket list when we visited Prince Rupert on the North Western Coast of British Columbia in Canada. We booked a half-day ferry ride to the sanctuary with Prince Rupert Adventure Tours which takes you deep into one of the fjords on the coastline of BC, very close to the border with Alaska. We spotted grizzly bears on two occasions and one was with a cub. We also sighted a humpback whale, dolphins, a sea lion and bald eagles, and these sightings were equally thrilling. It's a 'must do' if you happen to visit Prince Rupert in Canada.

If you ever get a chance to visit, take it. It is absolutely beautiful!

Andy McIlrath

Beautiful inlet with lots of spots whete bears come down to the water's edge. The park is huge and what you can see from the water is fraction of it. As you're not allowed ashore bear sightings are not 100%.

A little far to visit but it's a great place to see nature.
