Always went here as a child. Amazing little trail and garden. Very nicely maintained.

Amy Howe

Best place in Ottawa to go with my husband and dog.

Sue-Jane MacDonald

Great place to do wildlife photography.

Pegleess B

Just a warning that they’ve taken out more than half the parking and hired a security guard to enforce. The trails are beautiful but expect to park on Prince of Wales Dr or elsewhere.

FLOWER ArkiteK

A very nice and peaceful place, attached to another park. Long trails, lots to see. A good place for picnic, children runaround and just relax and enjoy the sun.

Ross Brown

No matter the time of year, this is a relaxing place to visit. No shortage of birds and other wildlife during the winter; beautiful plants and flowers in the summer. Peaceful hiking trails are open year-round. A great place for photography.

Patrick Deschamps

During the Tulips Festival, through end of May, you will find the most colorful trees on a almost peacefully quiet place. Great to take pictures, pauses, lunches and have some time for yourself or in couple.

Dave Cotterill

This is a great place to walk. All along the waterfront along the bay. Very picturesque.

Ben Tatham

Beautiful gardens, nature paths and friendly volunteers.

S M

This must be one of the most peaceful and prettiest spots close to central areas. Incredibly beautiful with various trails and a nice slope for sledding with view to the canal.

sherry Baby

My favorite place to take long walks I Always end up meeting fun people there. I could say it smells way better during spring

Ben Neil

Nice for a little walk through wild field and wooded area. A little small if you are looking for a long walk, but good to combine with the Arboretum and/or Experimental Farm or to take a break from biking along the canal.

Cheryl Harkin

Lovely place for a stroll through the gardens to enjoy the birds and flowers. Walk down to the canal and enjoy the water while you're there or bring a picnic to have under a tree.

Wayne Rogers

A simple Oasis tucked in the heart of the capital city.

Ruth Pittman

It's pretty and calm. The walking trails are nice too. Good for an introspective bird and cloud watching day. Just don't accidently stumble into the experimental farm where you can whiff the smell of cow dung and be accosted by wedding alley bridezillas and their gangs of stressed family trying to get the perfect Cinderella 250 lb heffer to be shot with newbie slughub on his way to a 50 lb ponch that explains the disappearance of wee willy Wonka in his chocolate factory.

The place is so beautiful. You might need some bug repellent.

Jessika McKinnon

Beautiful place for a day out with the family. Taking a walk and having a picnic. Lots to see and learn about here and very quiet!

Ray Richer

Beautiful place! Love that a lot of the trees are labeled.. be sure to check out the island with all the willows!

Phil Montgomery

One of the best kept secrets in Ottawa, beautiful natural walking trails. We saw a Barred Owl!

Al

Nice little garden that takes about 10 minutes to walk around. Dog friendly (on leash).

Alan Tessier

Great place for a walk. The garden is full of Cardinals, and if you're lucky, the Barred Owl will make an appearance.

Dominique Baert

Beautiful piece of nature close to the centre of Ottawa. Well maintained trails. Lots of wildlife, a great variety of butterflies, dragonflies, birds and plants. Certainly worth a visit if you like the outdoors.

Baptiste N.

A great team of volunteer, to make this site a preservation of the original plants from the region. …

Doug Kedrosky

How did I not know about this place after 20 years in Ottawa? Am i the only one? If you have not been, go here. Nature paths? Check. Weird art in the middle of a field? Check. Tons of trees, quiet and birds? Check, check, check!

Becky Reid

This is a new favourite spot for me. Ample parking and right in the center of town. Great place to take a nice easy walk with beautiful scenery.

Brandon Boyd

A real gem in the heart of the city. Very inspiring to see a nature based garden.

suzanne hawkins

Beautiful back yard garden. If only ours could be so well maintained and wonderful with the birds and animals enjoying the place too.

Steve Drew

This is a hidden gem. It is close to Carleton U and it's hard to believe there's such a natural, quiet place close to downtown. Perfect place for jogging and walking. Beautiful plants with good diversity.

Chandra Giroux

Nice walking area that is dog friendly and well maintained. Parking is free, but limited

Allan Laevens

A bit underwhelming in my experience, however I am basing my opinion having liked Mud Lake at Britannia Park much better. More diversity.

Catherine Oliver

Lovely for birdwatchers. Many trails for walking, biking and observing flowers, trees and others! Nice place to make a picnic and relax on the grass or under a tree.

It's not much to look at right now in the beginning of spring, but life is coming back to the garden & soon it will be beautiful. Still I did see different birds during my walk through, including 2 cardinals & a red winged black bird. I think there are washroom facilities on site but with the current provincial lockdown they are probably not accessible as the visitors center is closed. Parking is free, but the maximum parking time is 90min. It's a gravel parking lot but if cars park smartly you could fit about 20 on-site. There is metered $ parking not too far away though on the agricultural museum parking lot across the street. Dogs are allowed but must be kept under control.

Andrew McDonald

A great walk in the area - saw lots of birds and plants. Great to be outside and enjoying nature in the city! Some nice benches around the pond to sit and watch the wildlife.

Jen Whittal

First time walking through, I can tell is a must come back in height of bloom. The birds and Wild flowers will be lovely. The trail is very nice and can be short or long pending on your time frame. Looking forward to going back

Kathy Papierzanska

Nice little park for pretty pictures with your best friends in all seasons.

Oksana K.

Lovely spot for a bit of birdwatching. There's something every season - cardinals, chickadees, doves, hummingbirds, juncos... The list goes on. It's a small spot with three benches and multiple paths out to Dows Lake Arboretum and the nearby trails.

Cal McLelland

Beautiful area to go out for a walk in the woods and spend some time in nature. There are several paths leading through the area with views of the canal and connections to the Arboretum. There is also a (really tall) swing set, for hard core kids or adults. In the fields closer to Carleton there are a couple interesting art exibits to take a look at. Easily one of my favorite places to spend a relaxing afternoon out in the world.

Adora Randle

Beautiful Secret Garden with ALL the rabbits !

H “Mrshpq”

Our first visit to this garden today. Very cold so just a short walk.Seems like an interesting and educational place but not too much to see today. Will come back in better weather

Mary McEwen

Lovely, serene garden with walking paths and lots of flora and fauna

Diane Jesmer

Small family get together for Thanksgiving. Felt like summer, lawn chairs and Timbits. Nice secluded lawn surrounded by trees bursting with colour.

clint butler

Absolutely beautiful!

Sam Fransham

A beautiful garden and lovely the walk through. Bring ice grips in winter as a few paths can get icy but it’s beautiful to visit all year.

J. Lawrence Shupka

Fletcher is a great place to go for a small hike, right in the middle of the city. They seem to always be improving the trails, and there is plenty to explore off the beaten path. Sure, there are better spots in the greenbelt, but it’s a wonderful spot to stop if you’re local. If you combine it with a walk in the Arboretum or the Experimental Farm, your usually in for a good workout.

Luminita Suse

Amazing place for relaxing, meditation, bird and butterfly watching. I've been visiting it for many years. The flowers in the garden are blooming all summer attracting butterflies like the monarch and the giant swallowtail. The birds are …

Arielle Rosenberg

Great place for bird watching. We bring our grandkids here very often to educate them about wildlife. Note: Please keep your dogs on leash in this area. Please stay on the trails to protect plants and wildlife habitat.

Shannon O'Brien-LeBlanc

Gorgeous scenery and well maintained. It gets a bit busy mid day but theres plenty of space to keep socially distant. Be mindful of photos (not spending too long in one area when other people are waiting to get in, not getting to close to others/photobombing, avoiding areas where special events like wedding or engagement photo shoots are taking place). Just follow the rules and maintain your distance from others and it makes it a great experience for everyone.

Chris Tom

Beautiful area tucked away from the arboretum, unfortunately there's increasingly more people but luckily not too much garbage.

Hugh Mosher

Great park for walking in the woods. A popular place for dog walking in the morning.

Maurice Richard

Very beautiful if short experience in this garden. The trails are lovely and very near the canal.

Khushnaz Khambata

Very lovely corner of the Arboretum. Great spot in all seasons.

Sarah Stewart

Our family LOVES Fletcher Wildlife Garden! It's a great place to go for short hikes, with lots of great information posted about the local flora and fauna. It's also an awesome place to learn about wild edible and medicinal plants and to observe many types of wildlife.

Khushnaz K

Excellent for a walk, and it's lovely to spot birds

Rachel Armitage

Went for a beautiful nature walk with my daughter. I highly recommend you check this place out. Some of the most beautiful flowers, gardens, ponds, endless varieties of trees and plant life.

James Gaines

If your looking for a nice walk in the city, it's quite beautiful. Located near the locks, Landsdowne park. Great place for an open walk, lots of land, a small wildflowers/ plants area. If you have dogs, very popular.

Erin Seeds

A great place to bring kids; there's loads to explore. We've been twice and still haven't seen everything yet! Be aware that the only washrooms on site are some portable toilets in the parking lot.
