We googled fun things to do in Orilia, and Scales came up as the first. This was the best experience my boyfriend and I have had with being able to touch and learn everything about snakes. Everyone was so nice, even to our dog that we had to leave outside they gave her water and stayed with her. We didn’t get a chance to go for a hike, but we definitely will do that next time. Thank you so much again for a great time. ( update / we now have a snake, her names Sally )

So pleasantly surprised to discover this place. I didn't know if was there, and lived in the area for many years. The building is not much to look at when you arrive, but they have extremely knowledgeable staff who spent a ton of time with me and my young daughter. They bring out animals to touch and hold which was amazing. They educate you about each and every animal they have, and we learned so much! Looking for a deserving place to donate to? This is it. They case so much for their animals and are doing so much for them. A great visit, I know it will be a favourite to visit every year with my kids. Also great for a hike and a picnic after visiting the animals! Would be a very cool place for a kids birthday party.

Staff is very friendly. Great experience for kids of all ages. Walking trail is a nice family walk (wear bug spray!) Lots of reptiles to look at inside. Special room to sit and hold the animals. Felt very relaxed.

Absolutely fantastic! Everyone was so helpful and knowledgeable! My daughter was able to hold so many reptiles she was in her glory! We will drive the nearly 5 hours to go back again this year.

I love this place! I went there for camp and wanna go again, if you love reptiles I recommend you go! The staff are amazing there supper nice and funny ????

It was a great experience. Staff was very helpful. They spent time to explain each animal. They took out corn snake and some other snakes so that we can hold & pet them. We also had a chance to pet an Iguana. It was nice to see which animals are local. They emphasized which snakes live in Canada. It was winter time and the pond was frozen. We are planning to visit them in summer. Don't forget! There is an upper level. They have snake skins and turtle scales there. Family pass costs $40 one time.

We took our two children 6 and 3 to Scale last year and had a wonderful time. We spent the whole time being shown all the critters by a very nice young man. The kids got to hold several snakes and lizards. The staff are very friendly and courteous. This is inexpensive fun for the whole family. The place doesn't look like much when you pull up but don't judge a book by its cover. Inside is a lot of fun and amazing things to see. We are going back this afternoon to see them again. My kids have been talking about all winter that they want to go back. Scales is open all year round. Check out their website for all the information you need.

The staff were what made the experience here. Everyone was so friendly and engaging with the big group of kids I went with. They went around with snakes and turtles letting the kids interact with them. We had a blast. It is a bit small and the nature trails aren't stroller friendly but overall we had a great time and it was worth the money to go.

Love this place, family oriented, lots of stuff to learn, the owner is amazing and the work that they do is beyond impressive. Definitely a place to go to with your kids or if you love nature walks.

Excellent experience. Staff was very knowledgeable and welcoming. I was allowed to handle many of the animals. Well, I didn't, but my spouse did. It was a fun day all in all and I learned a lot about local reptiles and amphibians. I would absolutely recommend to anyone with an interest in nature.

This is a wonderful little reptile zoo! I highly recommend. They give personal tours when it’s not super busy and you can hold a few ofthe reptiles! Lovely little place to spend a few hours!

Amazing experience for my son. During the weekdays they’re usually closed, but you can call them and pay additional 40 on beside admission fee for a private walk-in and the kid gets to hold plenty of reptiles. Loved the place and employee attitude. Highly recommend for an amazing experience.

Although updating is in dire need, the creatures are well cared for, loved and studied by the employees, who are mostly young kids with good conversational skills. You get a personal tour throughout the building and the guides can answer any questions. We were also taken to a special area where we got to hold some of the amazing creatures, while learning even more about them. Clearly the building itself is not in the best repair, and some updates would improve the experience, but don't let that prevent you from entering.

It was amazing! Really recommend it, worth the drive. We had the best time, the people were very knowledgeable, they walked around with us and told us about each and every reptile. We were able to hold and interact with a bunch of reptiles. My 7 year old had the absolute best time!!

It was alright, it was cool that we could touch reptiles and animals but the trails were closed yet the admission was the same price which was disappointing and we left feeling a little ripped off.

We took our 16-month old boy to Scales today and it was a great experience. Super knowledgeable staff and hundreds of turtles, snakes and other reptiles from Ontario and around the world, including rare and endangered species. The staff even brought certain animals out of their enclosures for us to touch and handle. A word of caution: don't judge the place when you pull up - it's a treasure trove inside. Unfortunately the weather wasn't great so we weren't able to hike the property but the experience was great none the less.

Scales is truly the best reptile experience! My son absolutely loved visiting Scales! A staff member walked around with us providing education and bringing different reptiles out for the kids to touch and hold. My son was 3 and obsessed with snakes so he was absolutely thrilled to have a snake in his hands/around his neck. There is no other centre like this for reptiles! Such a worthwhile experience for our family and I love telling others about this place! I've told all my friends who absolutely loved this place. Here is my son (now 6) back again at the coolest spot!

We learned so many new interesting facts from our personalized tour guide Chris! Make sure you get upstairs to handle some reptiles too. So much packed into a small location. Nice when you have littles! Only explored one small outdoor trail, but enjoyed our little walkabout to the pond. Highly recommend!

Scales Nature Park was fantastic and provided a fun and educational experience for all ages. A friendly staff member took us on a tour of the facility and provided us with lots of information on the various native reptiles and amphibians of Canada. In addition, we were able to handle many of the animals at the nature park. The experience was unlike any I have had at other parks or zoos, and I would fully recommend checking out Scales Nature Park.
