The views are beautiful, especially at sunset. Such a big, unrestricted view of the sky. The parking was almost nightmarish with being rammed packed with cars, bikes, dogs and people when we came. The playground area was pretty much the same, there were definitely more than 70 people in that one area and more than half weren't taking any covid precautions at all. Kids running all over the jungle gym and playground equipment like nothing was going on...I might come back at some time when things die down and get back to whatever normal was..

This park is absolutely beautiful and the view from the beach is breathtaking. The kids absolutely love this park, there's so much for them to do, and with the field right there you can bring more for them to do. If you're ever in the area and need some way for your little ones to burn off energy, definitely check out this park.

We visited this park in August and they happened to be having a festival of some sort while we were there. The park itself was amazing and the kids had fun climbing on all of the sea creatures and playing on the zipline swing. It was quite busy while we were there due to the festival. There were many inflatable bounce houses and activities set up and we found out just as they were closing that they were all free!

This park is great! Between all of the concrete animals to play on and the mini zip-line, you're sure to have a blast. On a sunny day it's a great place for a picnic and some socoally-diststanr visiting.

Great family park with lots of plays for kids and toddlers. This park has a short zip line that can't be found anywhere else in Victoria. In terms of the beach, I still like the willows sand beach better but this park is better for kids.

Can be crowded and busy at times but it's a great place to bring the kids. The playground is imaginative and interesting - I loved it as a kid and I'm glad my kids enjoy it now as well. The beach is nice, even in the winter. Parking can be challenging at times.

A great beach for people and dogs. Part of the beach is inaccessible to dogs after 9am during the summer months but it still leaves a large area to play. There's a great playground and green field and clean bathrooms.

This is a fun park to play and use your imagination. Its right on the beach, has a nice field to play/picnic on and has bathrooms. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 star review is the parking lot is a bit of a mess!

Nice beach can be busy at times. Best playground for kids, there is something for every age group. I loved it when I was a kid, all 4 of my kids have loved it. My recent visit proved that it's still a favorite with kids. Best bathroom facilities around or neck and neck with Mt Doug beach. Easy beach to navigate if you have mobility issues. Overall great place to comes with the whole family there us something for everyone.

This is wonderful place to take kids on a cold day. There are excellent concrete nautical themed installations in place. All the usual playground things, like swings, slides and washroom facilities are in place. The sea and white sand beach are close by on a sunny day. What is not known about this place, Cadboro-Gyro Park is that it was built on the site of an Indigenous Metropolis in Pre-Columbian Times. There were so many longhouses, totems and cook-fires the air was smokey. Fresh water was naturally available and the bay beach full of food. Then smallpox came from Europe on the ships and they all died. This whole community lies on the bones of the Coast Salish, Lekwummen and Songhees folk whose ancestors still live here on the reservation.

Always a treat here...albeit, always busy and a race for a parking spot...it's got it all lush grass for kicking a ball, a small gathering or frisbee.... Clean washrooms, picnic tables, an awesome all ages park, gorgeous sandy beaches and blue ocean xo one less mark for business/competition for parking

Though parking can be a problem on the weekends and during peak times, this park is the perfect place to spend the day. There's a large playground (wood chip ground) with three separate swingsets, three slides (more if you count all the spots you can slide around on the 3 sea creature structures), a zipline, and more structures which kids of all ages can hide in and maneuver about on. Then, when the kids are tired of all that climbing and swinging, there is a sand beach to sit and play on. More than just a kids spot, this park is also scattered with about a dozen picnic benches as well as other seating. There is a reasonably-sized grass field on which kites can be flown, Frisbees tossed, etc. Bathrooms usually have soap and a hand dryer (but I can't recall if it has warm water). Though it has been closed off because of COVID-19, there is generally a water fountain/bottle filling station available near the bathrooms. At certain times of the year, dogs are also welcome on the beach. I spent 5 hours there this spring with my 3 kids, aged 2-10, and they were never bored. Just thirsty- bring lots of water.

An absolutely fantastic playground and beach!. There is a Zip line a bunch of different types of swings plus its also only steps away from a lovely sandy beach. One amazing thing I found was just how quiet it is!

Having grown up in the area, there's always a nostalgic feeling going to Gyro Park. We love the old cement sea creatures that you can climb all over and the municipality has done some nice updating to the play structures recently.

Nice sheltered bay for swimming, the beach is not too rocky. There’s a great playground for kids and grassy areas for play as well as numerous picnic tables and benches. Parking during the week is pretty easy, but I’d imagine the lot gets pretty full on weekends. There are shops just before the entrance so you can stock up on items for a picnic right there or grab a coffee for your stroll. The picnic washrooms were as clean as would be expected for a park, not too bad at all.

So much fun to be had! There are playgrounds and then there is this playground. Several play areas, a zipline, a "boat", it's even got a sea monster! The beach is an added bonus to how much there is to do here!

Wonderful place to have fun as a family or with friends. The zip line in my opinion is the most enjoyable attraction in the park. Big open field perfect for kite flying on breezy summer days. Parking can be a drawback as this place is popular for outdoor birthday parties and gatherings so plan ahead!

Nice Sandy Beach with logs. There's also a playground for kids, grassy picnic area and public washrooms. Water will likely be cold as the ocean water in most of Victoria is cold. Beach is faily long with plenty of space. There's also ample parking spots.

Great beach in the morning. Get there for sunrise. It's amazing anytime of the year. The bay is relatively sheltered and unless you catch a high tide you can walk the entire length of the beach. Lots of parking. A great place for taking the dog out. Go once and you'll keep coming back for more.

The park has a nice playground which is in front of the beach-Cadboro Bay is a great place to kayak, SUP and Sail- it's family friendly & pet friendly; you can enjoy a pic nic, or enjoy a walk - washrooms are available. The park has a parking lot and a new public tennis court.

An afternoon at Caddy bay beach is a guaranteed good time. The main area has playgrounds for kids and a public washroom open almost always. Once you get onto the beach, you can walk either way and get to areas that are much quieter for a minute of serenity.

They built Gyro park's sculptures when I was a toddler. I measured my growing by how easily I could climb around on them. Well remember the satisfaction of getting from Caddy's mouth to top of tail the first time. Deciding which of Octopus' arms was the best slide or not. So glad they've been refurbished and maintained. And, continue to delight kids of all ages.

It’s a great park but every time we’re here it’s always so windy. It’s a hot summer day (July 1) but we still need to wear a long sleeve outfit to keep ourselves warm. I’m sure it’s one of the popular places that kids will visit near Victoria so sometimes it can be busy. Parking lot is right beside the playground.

Great little park. A nice walk along the ocean. Good to sè the boats in the bay. A cement pier like structure, is rumored to dump sewage into bay? There is a suspect film at front of the said structure. Lots of people. Lots of dogs.

Beautiful place to have fun! Around 8 picnic tables are available for visitors - they can be also reserved previously with the park -, a fun playground to kids and easy access to the beach. Few options to eat in the surounded area - bring your food is the best option! Close to Uvic and for students have a nice break from studies as families as well!

We were treated to live music. The sprawling beach made rock hounding a dream and the kids play park is exceptional, picnic tables and public restrooms make this beach one of the best for families with little ones.

This park and playground are a jewel in Saanich's crown. The playground and park were rehabilitated for accessibility and flood control in 2014. The zipline is so heavily used the parts have been replaced several times. That means it's a success with children, parents, and grandparents!

A fantastic place!!! Excellent swimming, paddleboarding, kayaking, sailing. There's delicious food trucks most of the time. A fun playground for kids. A public washroom. And you can watch the boats / sailing schools! Also a great place to see some friendly Seals if you're out in the water and lucky :)

Great park for the kids with some unique play structures. The beach area is very family friendly. I was also impressed that there was a mat on the beach to allow wheel chairs and strollers to be pushed to a certain point on the sand.

Really nice outdoor playground and beach. Concrete climbing sculptures are great for the kids and it's a bit old school in the lack of all modern overly safe play structures. The zip line was broken when we visited but I'm sure it's fun when that s fixed.

Lots of free parking it is right on the beach lots of assortment of kids playground equipment including a zipline. Washroom very acceptable would highly recommend this place for a family picnic or birthday party lots of picnic benches and a huge open field.
