Here you will see all the feddbacks of people who consumed the services and products of Kootenay National Park (Zoo) in Nelson (Canada).
Currently this firm gets a score of 4.8 stars over 5 and that score was based on 127 reviews.
You must have seen that it has an average rating is virtually the best, and it is founded on a very high number of opinions, so we may conclude that the score is very accurate. If there are many people who bothered to rate when they are happy with the business, it works.
As you know, we don't usually bother to write feddbacks when they are correct and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or issue...
This Zoo belongs to the category of National park.
A beautiful place. Really great scenery when we walk around. Also a great place to take pictures and hike if that is your hobby.
I love this place for hiking with my family and dog !
Beautiful park. Some of the trailheads were not marked at all on the western side of the park. Camp ground was in pretty good shape. Lots to see. Really liked Marble Canyon. We were hampered by the smoke and rain moving in so we will be back.
Hard to complain about any place that's a vacation Hot Spot enjoyed it very much
Great park with really nice trails.
So close to Calgary and just awesome. Would highly recommend redstreak campground.
The park is wonderful...the people driving need to slow down and enjoy the scenery..
Beautiful place ❤️
Absolutely beautiful
Kootenay National Park located in southeastern British Columbia, Canada I recommend it, a full day fun with the family, well spend in the Nature, All stars. Photography is as much about the process of seeing as the print you produce. The love of photography is the love of life. Learn how the principles of photography can teach you about seeing your life in a different light.
One of my favorite parks in the Rockies. Not as busy as Banff.
A beautiful place to spend your holidays.
Beautiful place to visit, will definitely be coming back!
Canada's parks are beautiful scenescapes worth breathing in.
I think everyone can agree "we just want to move here"
Spectacular National Park what more can I say you need to visit it!!
Just very nice scenery.
Beautiful park!!
A little pricey 28 an up
Went to radium hot springs and redstreak campground. Despite the forest fires, I had a great time.
Beautiful drive!
Love our National Parks!
Beautiful park with a lot of nice stops!
Beautiful majestic park. Radium hot springs is a must so if you are out here.
Great staff, fantastic meat pie.
Gorgeous scenery
the best place ever not like park kluiane
Simply beautiful
Kootenay National Park has absolutely stunning mountain views.
Really, not much to say except it's one of BC's wilderness treasures. The scenery and wildlife is spectacular! This year when we went there were quite the forest fires up on the mountains
Blessed to live so close to a heavenly place.
Amazing views and a great time!
So peaceful and calm Take you to new level of peace that you looking for
My campsite is not good for tent. I think this one for RV.
Amazing beautiful scenery. Nature is in its rawest form here. Please come visit but respect this beautiful wild place.
The Kootenay River, on its' way south, flows thru some of the most beautiful lands on earth! LOVE the Canadian Rockies...
Wish it had not been cloudy.....:(
Very scenic drive, stop and visit all the areas within the park.
Decent facilities. Friendly helpful staff. Tons of wildlife.
I visited Kootenay National Park in September 2020 for a day trip from Canmore (it was approx. a 45 minute to 1 hour drive), just over the BC/Alberta border, and hiked Stanley Glacier and Marble Canyon. This was my first time venturing into Kootenay and it was a beautiful park! Stanley Glacier was a moderately difficult, 8.5 km hike (not including the loop at the end) that led through forest and opened up to amazing views of the mountains along the way. It was not a busy trail and I enjoyed it mostly to myself, with only a few other people on the way back. Marble Canyon was a short drive from Stanley Glacier. It was a 1.5 km loop trail leading alongside the deep and narrow canyon and over a series of foot bridges. There were incredible views and photo opportunities and it was amazing to see this canyon. Again, it was not busy here at all and I visited during midday. Kootenay had gorgeous natural beauty and I liked that the park was quieter than Banff. Note that there is no cell service at all in the park so make sure to plan accordingly. There were outhouses at the trailheads for Stanley Glacier and Marble Canyon. Would love to visit Radium Hot Springs during a future visit and explore more of the area.
STUNNING NATIONAL PARK, lots to see and do!
Wonderful scenery and road construction.
Other than road traffic, it was great!
Great hiking trails
Beautiful, what else is there to say?
nice location with views. also kinda close to Calgary so not too bad of a drive
Absolutely Stunning!, Canada... The Greatest Country on Earth...
So beautiful!
Very quiet compared to Banff and Jasper
I've been going there since I was young and have experienced many different things. Beautiful landscapes, great hiking spots, golf courses, ziplining, lots of good food, amazing drinks at Taynton Bay distillery and Arrowhead Brewery, and honestly, just never ending fun!
The most beautiful drive. Everywhere you look there are breathtaking views!
Beautiful area.
Highly recommend the Stanley Glacier trail. Followed up with a dip at Radium hot springs. Great scenery along the way!
A photography heaven in the winter time.
Saw some trees. Some mountains. Good times. Cheese & Ice cream
It's so beautiful, absolutely incredible
Beautiful, could use more parking.
Beautiful waters and surroundings. Awesome spot for camping, picnic, or a stretch of the legs
Although there was a lot of smoke from far away fires, limiting the view, the vast rocks and mountains give an amazing view.
Gorgeous. Close to Calgary for day trips or overnighter. Perfect for the adventurous soul or those wanting glorious selfies. Some road work but not too bad for delays. Can get stuck behind campers during busy season. Amazing restaurant at Castle Mountain Chalets. Charcuterie plate worth the stop. Bears often sighted so keep an eye open and practice safe bear behaviour and don't block the highway stopping.
So beautiful. Rocky mountains Kootenay river... love it
Nice place to visit
Beautiful place if your interested in natural beauty. I'd love to call this place my home for eternity. However it will just be a place to visit and be starstruck by its purely natural beauty!! ????????
Unfortunately we went there were BC wildfires so it was really smoky. But BC parks are always beautiful. So are the mountains. We went to radium hot springs too.
Amazing view
Great sights and fishing
Beautiful mountains and wild life
Radium hot springs!
Beautiful
Its so relaxing. The view is so viewtiful and i really recommend it.
Haven't had a chance to hit the trails or camp in this park, but have driven through it many times on the way to Radium. The scenery is breathtaking and there's always a fair chance to spot wildlife. Have seen some big grizzlies right by the road.
Beautiful scenery during a full day rafting trip with Kootenay River Runners made this a memorable experience.
Marble Canyon a short walk to see beautiful water gushing and eroding it's way through the canyon.
Amazing hiking for all levels. We completed the Rockwall hike and it was absolutely awesome. Highly recommend.
One of the best Parks we ever been, please take your time and enjoy the beauty of nature, it will for ever in our minds. Enjoy ????
The scenery was amazing.
Stunning views.
One of the best parks in Canada
First time visiting this area and we're so impressed.
Great hiking, trail running and various outdoor activities. Just a great place to get outdoors and enjoy.
Such a beautiful sight. Can't wait to visit again!
Absolutely beautiful
Beautiful National Park and campground.
Jaw dropping beauty
I think I seen the jackelope here
love this place!
Banff is nicer, Jasper is the best
Such a nice drive
Paint Pots off HWY 93
Nice drive but not the same as when I was younger. A person used to see all sorts of animals but now all you see is a huge mesh fence (trap) that wolves use to run the game into????. So sad , as you rarely see any living animal due to 'man' stepping in to "help" !
Big open spaces
Great place to have family time. The area can get busy during tourist high times (Holidays/Summer) but you can usually find some quiet places that will blow you away if you search for them.
Beautiful park, really well kept and amazing scenery. Definitely visit radium hot springs if you have the chance. Perfect way to relax after a few hours of driving.
Kootenay. Always a joy. Beautiful place
Scenic. Inexpensive. A must-visit place
This park has some amazing views and sights from the Continental Divide to the Kootenay Valley Overlook to the Radium Hot Springs. It is a gem. The rock faces are a bit different and the road cuts deeper into the mountain face that Jasper or Banff.
Kootenay National Park is a national park located in southeastern British Columbia, and is one component of the Canadian Rocky Mountain Parks World Heritage Site. The park consists of 1,406 km2 (543 sq mi) of the Canadian Rockies, including parts of the Kootenay and Park mountain ranges, the Kootenay River and the entirety of the Vermilion River. While the Vermillion River is completely contained within the park, the Kootenay River has its headwaters just outside the park boundary, flowing through the park into the Rocky Mountain Trench, eventually joining the Columbia River. It ranges in elevation from 918 m (3,012 ft) at the southwestern park entrance, to 3,424 m (11,234 ft) at Deltaform Mountain. Initially called "Kootenay Dominion Park", the park was created in 1920 as part of an agreement between the province of British Columbia and the Canadian federal government to build a highway in exchange for title to a strip of land, approximately 8 km (5.0 mi) on either side of the 94 km route, the Banff–Windermere Highway, to be used solely for park purposes. While the park is open all year, the major tourist season lasts from June to September. Most campgrounds are open from early May to late September, while limited winter camping is available only at the Dolly Varden campground. The Kootenay National Park is one of seven contiguous parks that form the Canadian Rocky Mountain Parks World Heritage Site.
Beautiful park. It's too bad to see so many fire ravaged trees. Looking forward to exploring more places in the park.
Roads were good all the way to jasper
Beautiful drive through the mountains. Amazing water that has a lovely glassy green colour. Reminds me of Lake Louise, Banff.
Fingers crossed the fires get out out
Awesome nature is just great
Gorgeous place to hike and camp.
Great national Park right in the middle of the Rockies
This is the perfect place to camp if you love to be involved with nature (canyons, lakes, mountains, waterfalls. There is no cellphone service in the area. A simple walk can take you to breathtaking views. There is a possibility to pay for available spots at the front entry. Fill the forms, put the amount of money into the envelope and deposit in the iron box. Everyday there is an employee from Parks Canada driving to the "office" and checking the camp. Picnic tables are fixed, there is on site firepit. It takes a long time to fill the water tank due to the fact that there is no pressure in the tap.
Great valley to visit anytime of the year beautiful mountains glaciers rivers and road
I was recommended to hike the Rockwall Trail, a 55 km, 3 to 4 days, hike through the Kootenay mountain range
Love this National Park only thing is they have poison ivy everywhere including the campground
Lots of wildlife....Bears deer elk moose. Enjoy!
Another beauuuutiful Canadian Rockies park. Love it
Nice place to stop for a brief while before entering the true beauty of Banff
Great time here. Bring bear spray!
So Beautiful
Love going threw this park with my man and stopping for walks threw here
Beautiful
Such a beautiful area.
Love BC
Amazing views!
Great campground! Lots of great options to camp. From Rv fully serviced sites, to regular campgrounds and even Otentik's for the families who don't want to tent it. Bathrooms could use a freshening up but still very clean, fully serviced bathrooms with showers. Lots of playgrounds for kids to run and play. Also a short drive to he radium hot springs!
Hiking Rockwall should be mandatory for Canadians.
Wonderful quiet place.
Beautiful National Park with a half dozen worthy stops/hikes. Full of mountains, rivers, big horned sheep.
Love the Radium Springs golf course try it out!
Awsome drive... Lots of pull outs to stop to check out the views.
Lovely scenery
Beautiful sunsets and stars. A definite must see!
Amazing hiking. Great campgrounds. Beautiful scenery.
Nature is always awesome, just have the right gear :)
An outstanding outdoor experience. Besides the gleaming lakes and rivers accessible from the highway, one can also find dozens of hidden spots in this national park.
One of our favourite places in Canada. Much less touristy than Banff National Park and quintessential Canadian scenery. Highly recommended
Miles and miles of trails and some of the most stunning scenery in the world. The Kootaney River is ice blue and beautiful. It winds through the high mountains with cascading waterfalls and some deep canyons with some rich history. A great tour of the Canadian National Parks would be the Kootaney, Banff, and Jasper. They are all so close together you could almost get it through them in one trip. Although I think it would take many to get through everything there is to actually see. The wildlife is plenty so be prepared and be respectful as this is their home and we are only visitors. When going on hikes up here be sure you are prepared for all weather conditions as it can change in an instant. If you are traveling through the area, you should defiantly make a few stops through the park and take a quick hike in to the mountains maybe see a glacier or two.
Plentiful outdoor recreation opportunities.
Beautiful landscape. Awesome numa falls
The most beautiful place ever.
Absolutely stunning
See black Bear there for me the best day. All the places I visited are really beautiful.
Drive by was very nice!
Lovely.
Amazing scenery. Free access to all National Parks for Canada's 150th birthday is a great thing!!
A very rugged alpine national park that is better known by the locals. Definitely worth visiting.
Bears and gorgeous mountains, what else could you ask for ?
Beautiful place to visit.
Great National Park! Not as crowed as Banff and very fun!
Hot springs at radium were great
The river valley will always hold a special place in our hearts, Magnificent!!!
One of my favorite national parks to visit. Very tidy, well kept and friendly. Many great views and activities to do for all ages.
Beautiful views
Great spot for camping
Supper awesome place for a weekend get away with camping hiking , lots wild animal and beautiful mountains surrounding !!! Summer river water is crisp cold!
This is a great National Park for a day trip when you’re around Banff. This national park has tons of stops where you’ll see colorful lakes, rivers, and breathtaking mountains!!! This park also has a lot of downhill driving especially if you’re driving from Banff. Plz note, have everything with you because there is no cell service on this road until you reach Radium Hot Springs which is the town at the end of the park. Most importantly if you’re traveling with a group of people in the park, make sure you guys stick together and have some way of communication like a walkie talkie. This is an amazing place to go if you want to take a slight detour from Banff. You won’t be disappointed.
Great outdoor adventure space. Hiking, biking , snowshoeing etc. World class scenery.
Stop if you can it's a great place to visit and beautiful
Nice place to go
Such scenery and soo many places to stop and check out.
Beautiful
Beautiful drive
Hike to the toe of Stanley Glacier was phenomenal. Huge vertical cliffs, views both up & down the valley, the creek, small waterfalls lining the walls, 10 cm of fresh snow all made it spectacular on this early September day. It was certainly worth the 15 km trek.
Lots of beautiful scenery - so much to see.
The park is beautiful! Enjoyed radium hot springs
Kootenay National park is also a beautiful place to visit.
If you have a Parks Canada pass you can stop at numerous places along Highway 93 through the park. Be aware there is no mobile/cell coverage along much of the highway. Personally I love this park - it’s not as frenetic as Banff National Park and the scenery is just as good.
Not nearly as busy as Banff or Lake Louise.
We decided to take a different route to Banff this year and took the highway from Golden to Radium then up through Kootenay National Park. I had not been that way since I was a kid and was amazed with all the beautiful views along the way. We will definitely take this route again one year, and check out the National Park in more detail in the future.
Just beautiful!!
Beautiful!
Very nice location. Worth a visit.
Wonderful place to visit
Spectacular park with eye popping scenery at every turn. Lots of hiking, tons of wildlife. Utterly breathtaking.
Saw a Black bear and three Grizzlies.
There is a place you must go!
Great !!! Love the wigglies. And the water was great too.
This is a beautiful drive from Lake Louise to Radium Hot springs.
The Best way to spend evening with love one
Unbelievable landscapes! Great place to explore, hike and camp!
Great for hiking and camping. Not too crowded as Banff or Jasper
Go, now. What a fantastic place to spend a weekend. Radium is wonderful, the park is awesome, we saw bears, moose, elk, mountain goats, caught many varieties of fish. The crystal clear blue waters are breathtaking and the park is so clean it will blow your mind! Roads are newish and some freshly paved.
Nature at its best
Nice place awesome views.
Get away from the tourist trap of Banff and explore. No $200 dinners here or expensive furs from Perú. This is what a national park is about. Best of all less Banff warden's harassing you for drinking beer or peeing on the wrong plant. Check out marble canyon
Beautiful place, very clean! Let's be respectful of these beautiful places!
Very spectacular, lots of sight seeing, places to walk etc.
Siiick views
Views from a nice road side stop. This park is huge and offers plenty of views along your drive or view points that you can hike to. BC is indeed extremely beautiful.
Awesome
A beautiful drive with many opportunities to pull over and take a stroll through the wonderful scenery. Popular trail heads like Stanley Glacier will have outhouses for visitors. Be sure to have your park pass displayed in your car if parking at hiking spots.
Beautiful. Experience it yourself what more can I say.
Beautiful park! Enjoy a drive through the snow capped mountains and spectacular natural beauty. Stunning vistas await you around every bend. The roads are generally well maintained in winter but you should check for ice. Hit up Radium for an inexpensive soak in natural outdoor hot springs. Keep an eye out for plenty of wildlife, obey signs and speed limits and you'll have a safe and enjoyable time!
Very nice and beautiful views.
Beautiful scenery and lots of places to stop for the views. Great hiking opportunities as well
Very beautiful place, the town is nice nothing out of ordinary but the views are awesome and the hot springs are very nice. My family had a great time, just make sure you have your car brakes checked before coming down here, lots of downhill drive.
Wonderful place to visit. If you're looking for somewhere to spend a weekend or longer this is the place to go. No matter where you're from, it's well worth the drive. Not as busy as many other national parks.
Supper fun for friend to hangout
Sweet park. Crystal clear water, nice sand, seen a hawk flying around. After travelling from Ontario this is a real nice refreshing place to chill out for a few days..
Decent spot by the river to have a picnic
Beautiful place!
Great outdoors park. Lots of interesting viewpoints and stops along the way.
Worth the time to explore
How can I be so lucky to live 3 hours from such a beautiful place? I’ve spent 10 weekends here in 2018 and am in awe every time I arrive. The freshest air, cleanest water, and relatively few tourists. I’ve kayaked, golfed, swam, hiked, quaded, skied and gone cliff jumping. I’m so relaxed every time I return home. Will continue to visit for the rest of my life.
A Must visit!! Natural beauty at its best! But need to know that so many gravel road so better go with bigger vehicle! Very raw feeling with the nature! Will go there again and again! So many lakes, falls and parks to enjoy! Totally loved it! Great place for vacation! There are so many trails to hike. Totally worth to go! Highly recommended. Also really good for photoshoot! Will go there again next summer for camping!
beautiful scenic roads, rivers, forests. dont miss it while in the area for the more famous banff.
A beautiful place must see
Trails are not clearly marked nor very well made some parts were slanted and dirt as well as super narrow paths. Scenery is good non the less.
Geoff Stratton from the Radium Hot Springs visitor center was super helpful at helping us out with planning and making reservations on our trip at Rockwall. A must National Park to visit as well!
Awesom.
This was great. Especially liked the hot springs. Saw wild bighorn sheep and was just a beautiful drive.
Calm and beautiful forest living
Beautiful scenery, Stanley Glacier is awesome!
Amazing spot for snow-shoeing.
One of the gems of Canadian national parks
Absolutely beautiful!
Wonderful nature.
Exploring the British Columbia/ Radium Hotsprings
Saw a black bear n a mama grizzly n cub!
Beautiful national park. Highway 93 is twisty and gorgeous, and would be a wonderful motorbike ride - we will have to come back! We like to stop at the Radium hot springs every time we pass through here. There's lots of camping and hiking.
It was a very beautiful place to visit everyone was friendly there was little to no gang violence it's a very picturesque and adventurous place to go hiking trails to the mountains all the way to nice little places to sit by the creek Wildlife is everywhere and it's pretty withdrawn from the world one of the best places to visit hands down
Been traveling to the Kootenays almost all my life and I love it. I can honestly say that this valley of mountains recharges you the moment you start driving through them. The hiking trails, hot springs, horseback riding and other hidden gems makes this National Park one to keep coming back to for more.
The Rockwall trail was VERY snowy in the first week of July but had nice campsites and gorgeous views evey step of the way
Such a beautiful place to travel.
Roads are good, sights are amazing
Lovely views
Radium Hotspring Campground "Redstrick" is amazing.
what negative thing can anyone actually say about this gorgeous park!!! 100% love!!!
In the heart of BC Rockies, an absolute must see
Awesome
Just beautiful, got some nice shots
Very scenic, but not overly truck friendly
Gorgeous national park to drive through. You can definitely tell this park was the victim of a large Forrest fire some time ago. Nature must run its course!!! Beautiful mountain views, many hike options, camping, just gorgeous!!
Nice area with some great sights and activities. Less than Banff area, but still some unique finds.
Beautiful!
It was free excess for Canada's 150 birthday. There are some beautiful spots in there to see.
This is a lovely place to go in the summer time and the kids just love the camping. Tents, trailers, campers and hotels and B&B what ever you want to use for a stay it is so beautiful and relaxing here. Make sure you give yourself time to see the place do not just rush to hit the hot tourist attractions do some exploreing and chill out a bit.
Nice park. Very picturesque. Love the hot springs.
Great outdoor experience with nature and beauty all around
Gorgeous and scenic.
It's a small park with lots of hiking trails, places to stop and look as well as a few campgrounds (one, Redstreak, also takes reservations and has RV hookups). Still missing the walking bridge at Numa Falls though... ????
Great view, lots of places and things to do.
Best place ever
Great memories
This is an amazing visual wonder. The campgrounds were clean and spacious with exciting views all around. Well appointed. I loved the paint pots - we even added some to our faces. Also a terrific soak in Radium Hotsprings at the end of the day!
Great and splendid national park
Crazy! I love it, I wish people would slow down and enjoy the scenery alittle more
Lesser known cousin to Banff, but this place has some really great hiking and camping. Also, I much prefer the hot spring pool in Radium to the one in Banff.
Amazingly beautiful
This area in amazing!! We should have brought our snowshoes. This is probably the perfect spot to escape the crowds of Banff National Park and still have great scenery.
Great drive and holly the views a deffenatle must
Beautiful scenery! The trail from Red streak to the pools is beautiful, just make sure you stay on the path as there are not many signs to lead your way!
The hot springs are getting a nip and tuck but still a great place to visit.
Beautiful place, with an easy hike.
Great park if you don't like the crowds of Banff.
Obviously amazing
The Kootenay River is misnamed upstream of Kootenay Crossing according to the National Park map.
Wet but the scenery was fantastic
Lovely drive
Simply beautiful. When you are driving through, look for the heart of the rookies (right in the middle of the picture, middle mountain).
Beautiful views not too crowded!
Spectacular scenery! Good roads!
Amazing amazing amazing!!!
Love seeing the Bighorn sheep in their natural habitat. Beautiful place to camp.
Quiet and peaceful park. The signage wasn't great and things were a bit more run down than other parks, but it was beautiful and so much more relaxing than Banff. Driving through Sinclair Canyon the first time was incredible! We weren't able to do some of the hikes we wanted to, so we'll be back!
B.C. (or Parks Canada) should do significantly more for this gem to be as well-maintained and accessible as its brother, the world famous Banff National Park. Stunning natural beauty, but it is almost impossible to access to it and enjoy it at its fullest!
Great campsite in the mountains. But I always prefer one by a lake or river. Good place to be and venture out for the day. Very close to the Hwy in Radium (2km). And having electricity was a great bonus!! Good, free showers! Sites nicely placed/separated.
If you can’t make the fossil tour, it is still a really great place to go to, but I wouldn’t recommend staying there for too long. I went on a trip where we visited the Glacier National Parks (US and Canada), Banff, Jasper, Yoho, and Kootenay. Kootenay and Yoho were the two we spent the least time in because there wasn’t a lot to do. Overall, it wasn’t bad, and it’s very scenic like the other places. I’d say the most unique feature is the fossil tour, which can last all day.
Kootenay National Park is beautiful - but it's a national park, you should know that!! It basically follows HWY 93 south from Castle Junction down to Radium as one gateway to the Columbia Valley. There are tons of great hikes and spots to stop along the highway, and you can see lakes, wildlife, gorgeous mountain ranges, and the remnants of forest fires. Make sure you have good brakes before heading down the hill! Marble Canyon is a cool place to stop, as are the Paint Pots.
Chickadee nice place with lots of cross country and backcountry skiing options
Beautiful place to go
Breathtaking Views! Very well kept roads and Drive is amazing!! If you are in the west do take this drive to Radium!
Whether you go for a hike, bike, or drive, the views pretty much everywhere are outstanding. I never tire of this. Take your time and don't speed. These views are worth enjoying!
Better than Banff, but don't tell anyone I said so ;) Avoid the crowds and get better scenery.
Fun time
Nice Park with high chance to see bears at highway
Amazing place, less touristy than the other parks.
Brisk and adventurous with many amazing memories.
Kootenay National Park is a national park of Canada located in southeastern British Columbia. The park consists of 1,406 km2 (543 sq mi) of the Canadian Rockies, including parts of the Kootenay and Park mountain ranges, the Kootenay River and the entirety of the Vermilion River. While the Vermilion River is completely contained within the park, the Kootenay River has its headwaters just outside the park boundary, flowing through the park into the Rocky Mountain Trench and eventually joining the Columbia River. The park ranges in elevation from 918 m (3,012 ft) at the southwestern park entrance to 3,424 m (11,234 ft) at Deltaform Mountain.
Beautiful drive and alot of great places to stop and explore. Be careful for bears, do not stop if you see them driving. We dont need anymore dead bears because of ignorant people
It's a beautiful park. Do beware of RCMP speed cameras. The lodge is great! The cabins were built by CP Rail for it's employees. There is great Lakes, ponds, mountains and great walking areas.
Wonder on earth!
Great park, a lot of awesome trails for hiking and snow activities.
Amazing place take the time and stop and take it all in. Don't feed the bears please.
Driving was great
Cool views. Loved Olive lake
Amazing! This park doesn’t get as much attention as Banff. The hikes are wonderful and so are the views.
Beaitiful scenery hot springs and nature had such a wonderful time and im sure anyone else who voes there will too such a wonderful feeling being in the mountains and enjoying the beauty
A very amazing park a truly beautiful place. I have rafted the Kootenai river through this park once before 10 years ago and loved it then as well. A minor side note we went down the river in mid July and faced what could be consider apocalyptic levels of mosquitoes. Like real plague of the earth, difficulty breathing the air because it was so thick with bugs level of mosquitoes. Pack a bug net and another bug net to protect your first bug net.
Easy access to breath taking sites.
Beautiful place to visit, lots to see and places to go.
Beautiful national park
Beautiful place. Cant say enough about being in the mountians
Campsites for tents are run down dumps, sad that this federal agency is so poorly representing our country.
A very nice place to visit. You have to be very very careful because of the animals on the road. The view is absolutely magnificent them would be so much better if there weren't mountains in the way blocking The View.
This seems like a wonderful park, i kkock a star off simply because the surrounding areas were even better! We did a big trip thru montana and some of the canadian parks around banff and hiked here on the way back to kalispell airport. The hike we took was decent. Lots of good resraurants in the town.
Awesome mtb trails for beginners and pro bikers alike
Beautiful park, worth going to!
Simply beautiful
Went last year in the winter time. This place is so incredibly beautiful and amazing. It is like being in a whole different world. The Animals and the sights are so gorgeous. We spent 10 days camping and hiking and it was one of the most freeing and exhausting trips, it will always be a cherished moment in my life and I tell everyone to go check this place out. Can not wait till we can return and create more memories.
Well maintained trails and facilities, and excellent signage for major objectives. Pretty crowded these days!
Stunning. You need to go and explore the region yourself.
This park seemed just as stunning as Banff, though I mostly just drove through. The Stanley Glacier was really cool. It seemed that a lot of the forest was fire or flood damaged, which did take away from the parks' beauty.
Seemingly often overlooked, this park has a lot to offer, including scenic drives and hikes. It's a great choice if you want to escape the masses of tourists you'll find in Banff too.
Great mountain range and park with very beautiful views and mountains. Great to visit and relax with many activities near by in Radium Hot Springs, Invermere and Fairmont Hot Springs.
As good as any other Rockies park.
Really beautiful.
Wonderful park, very undeveloped and wild.
A great location to get away from the crowds
Any of the Canadian Rockies Parks are 5 star. They are listed as UNESCO world heritage sites!! Their beauty is unmatched, and Kootenay is no exception
gorgeous place
Beautiful place!
Due to Covid they didn't fill up all the spots (which is ok) but they clustered people together in what I would consider the less desirable spots. Some garbage on ground when we arrived at our site. Bathrooms were clean and heated though.
Loved it. Bear and beauty
Beautiful hiking and camping opportunities here. Research your route to plan on your difficulty level and enjoy.
Would be great if people didn't pull off to the side of the highway for bears constantly. Very dangerous for other drivers, the wildlife and themselves.
Always great to be there.good hiking good rv/camping sites close to nature
Absolutely beautiful
Great park to visit with a variety of trails to hike.
Great scenery!! No cell service , be prepared for that.
Beautiful view, area and lake's
Always an amazing scenic drive filled with amazing views. There's always something to see including big horn sheep, mountain goats, elk, black bear and more. The pass through Radium often wows people the first time through and there are many hiking trails just off the main road. Amazing blue waters flow along side the road in many places and amazing views of beautiful bodies of water. Many road side pull outs through the pass which afford you a nice place to park and paths to enjoy, To much to list them all. Give yourself lots of time and explore!
Saw this gorge with falls at the end. It was on the highway and a really nice rest bite on the way to Radium Hot Springs.
Very beautiful National Park with lots to see and good hiking trails.
South bc. Beautiful.
Hikes on very well tended trails good signage and great scenery
Wild life, mountains and hot springs whats not to love! Nature at its finest!
Unfortunately it was on fire and very Smokey.
Very quiet place!Full with animals!I love to relax here!My lovely place!
Drove along Route 93 between Banff and Radium through Kootenay National Park on a very snowy day. Had hoped to be able to do some hikes but conditions were too bad. However the mountain scenery was beautiful and we’d love to have been able to do more as there are so many natural attractions along the route. There’s a Parks Canada App which provides a commentary as you drive, though we couldn’t get it to download. Verdant Creek at Vermillion River Crossing is a pretty picnic spot.
Lovely views, so much to explore :-)
Amazing views and plenty of places to stop
Lovely park, the drive through it is absolutely beautiful and the winding road is pretty fun as well. Nice hikes with hot springs for sore muscles too!
Great campground. Each "unit" is farther apart than most campgrounds. This gives a much nicer experience. Stellar views...great wildlife...clean facilities.
Beautiful park. So much to see
Beautiful park..
Always love the hikes..every week.....great spot to exercise and stay fit.....thankyou...the short cutting and napkins are are problem.....try and do my part to keep it cleaned up.....tks...
Beautiful spot. Highly recommend.
Well maintained and a busy park. You're almost guaranteed to see some form of wildlife whether it be bears, big horn sheep, deer, turkeys, or even just a squirrel. Lots of hiking trails scattered throughout. The only downside is it is a mountain pass so while you can't beat the view the road is very windy and avalanches and rock slides happen
Not too busy
Beautiful sites, definitely a must see.
The Kootenay River is simply beautiful. It sparkles bright blue as you drive through the park up 93. We saw many deer, elk, and these bears on our first day. There are many scenic tournouts, camping places, and hiking trails. It's definitely worth the drive.
The mountains are beautiful and we seen wildlife going both ways.
So beautiful.
Wonderful park go visit.
Great place to relax
It is absolutely beautiful. Lots of easy hiking as well as difficult. Well maintained.
Beautiful scenery and very little traffic.
Some of the most beautiful country you'll see in your life
Always beautiful and stunning to visit and see our country's majestic mountains. If you are looking for commercialized shopping, lots of restaurants and touristy place you can find that in Banff!
Underrated and less visited than Banff and Jasper due to having less attractions. However, campers will find the nights much warmer and the camping facilities much better. Only campground I've been to with steaming hot showers.
A spectacular place with amazing scenery and breathtaking views.
Amazing. God created beautiful mountains
Beautiful drive
Very nice, and we saw a lot of wildlife
Very scenic
Hot springs where awesome.
Always amazing! Beautiful and peaceful.
Radium car show rocks every year
Must see Marble canyon, everyone flies past this gem. Small often full parking lot but worth taking the hike back and forth across the towering canyon via the foot bridges and beautiful turquoise water. One of my top picks in all of the surrounding area 2nd only to Moraine Lake!
Fantastic views.
The Columbia Valley is a place of rare beauty just west of Kootenay National Park. Something to do in all seasons.
Please, I beg you to pass by this area. Stress released. So relaxing. Let your barefoot walk down the big rocks with the flowing of water. The pouring of water just like falls sounds so enchanting...the natural smell Of nature will really make you want to stay more hours. Lovely paradise. Awesome feeling when you get there.
Gorgeous park with plenty geological features
Go here. Remote. Look for grizzlies. Watch the trees growing from a precious fire. Life finds a way
Lovely view.
Amazing place, beautiful views easy hiking trail nice and cool near Canyon
Beautiful drive, spectacular views. Worth visiting
Always good to visit and it is a short drive from Calgary.
Just drove through but it was beautiful as always
Absolutely amazing
Great hiking
This is in the valley, always been a beautiful drive if u time it right. If u see any animals though please respect them and do not throw your garbage or food waste on the side of the road as it will attract animals to an unsafe area, the road. There are plenty of pull offs to stop at if u need or want to get out and take a hike, but always be prepared. The fire evidence is visible and quite sad, it is a reminder of how precious nature is, but I do know that with fire can bring new life in the forests. Please be respectful and aware of ur actions when in nature.
Stunningly gorgeous
Aweso.e love this place
Great camping place; kids friendly and the hot spring is a great place to relax.
Beautiful place, friendly stuff. Wish the parking lot at the Radium hot springs was bigger.
????
Beautiful scenic drive. A lot of places to stop and check out. Numa falls was closed though.
All the beauty of Banff without the crowds!
Beautiful campground (Redstreak) short hike to Radium Hot Springs.
Great views

Beautiful place, the steep valleys with the rushing rivers, snowy mountain tops, wildlife.
A bit smaller than the other parks. But still some nice places to view
Lots of great hikes and picnic sites
It is beautiful here
Good national park.
Very cool!
One of Canada’s amazing national parks
Great park, very well maintained!!! We REALLY enjoyed the explora trip guide via the phone app. Plenty of clean picnic spots with very CLEAN pit toilets!!!
Hiked up to the Stanley glacier. It was absolutely beautiful. 14kms round trip so bring lots to drink, some food and also some warm cloths just in case.
Beautiful National Park away from the crowds and busyness of Banff
We vacationed here late July of '17. Much beauty around every turn. The Canadian Rockies are spectacular, and Kootenay doesn't disappoint.
Very faintly that the construction of the fence is conducted under the forest and now the animals can not reach dandelions and grass between the road and the forest. Now it is very rare to see animals on the road. I agree that in the interest of safety a fence is needed, but I do not agree that an open space with good grass is being taken away . I propose to move the construction of the fence closer to the road. Thank you.
Beautiful place to go!
Such a beautiful part of the country and love driving through it as much as I can.
Nice location and very clean
Excellent trail to see the falls.
Beautiful area. Radium Hot Springs
Was there this summer. It was amazing, the camp staff were helpful, the grounds well kept and the town great.
Best place on earth
Stanley Glacier was a great hike. We didn't go the full loop but still enjoyed it.
Radium and this park are my happy place. If you love to hike and trail ride, this is your place! The mountains and falls are so serene. Just a magical place ❤️❤️
The views, the colours, overwhelmed by natural surrounding.
Dosn't get any prettier
Marvelous cannyon with waterfalls. Quick and easy access from highway 93.
Beautiful places. Nice to take hikes. It has improved over the years. It must have been gorgeous before the big fires of 2001 and 2003. It has a beauty of its own.
Good place to see wildlife.
Beautiful view
Its a nice view but no cell service so make sure you have enough fuel to make it through the park ????????
I came here to do Floe Lake as well as Arnica / Twin Lakes. Pretty views, not too crowded, lakes were pretty. Paths were clear and signed, would recommend!
A beautifull park with lots of nice river view. It is very good for relaxation, walking and thinking.
"Majestic" beauty is the word to describe it.
This national Park is truly a treasure some of my fondest memories made here ... So breathtakingly beautiful
Beautiful place Sandy beach
We saw GRIZZLIES!!!
Its unbelievably beautiful. And you have to see it!!
I saw 3 grizzly bears.
Take your time on Highway 93 to enjoy this beautiful park. Do stop in at some of the rest areas to take it in. Don't miss the lookout point over the Kootenay river valley.
Beautiful place.
Very beautiful place.
Nice drive through there.
Beautiful place in the nature with hot water to relax! Much better and less people then in the Banff Upper Hot Springs!
It was a short visit but it was enough to realize - we will be back. Beautiful views, lots of wild life to see.
Everything is better in the kootnays! From travelling throughout Alberta and BC the weather was best there, the camping options were the fullest, they were the cheapest and kept the nicest.
Beautiful scenery as always.
Beautiful park!! Drive through the park is not only beautiful but the stops along the way are very informative. Nice to be able to stop for a hike, picnic, or just a break from driving, at one of the scenic pullouts. Dont forget your camera!! These pictures taken at simpson creek.
Very beautiful, must visit Marble Canyon as well here!
It's always a nice place to get away to
Love the outdoors . Lot's of walking around with great views
Beautiful
Lovely park.
Great place to go hiking. The views are breathtaking.
Absolutely stunning scenery & lotsa wildlife...
Beautiful.
We did the Rock Wall hike in 4 days. Trails were great, views were incredible and the people we met were great.
Great views and beautiful mountains
Terrible site. All I wanted was a winter road/avalanche report. Nothing there. Site tells me to go to Drive BC, Drive Bc does not cover information inside the park because it's a National Park, they are supposed to do their own reports, but they don't. In the summer months there is a phone # for road reports but not in the winter. So if you have a doctors appt. or need to go to Calgary airport you just have to take your chances and head out on the road with no information except what they MIGHT be able to tell you at the park gate.
The lady at the park gate was super friendly. I was just driving through, but it was a gorgeous drive and there was a nice little picnic spot by Nuna Falls that was a perfect spot to stop for my lunch!
Winter wonderland!
Absolutely breathtaking. So many beautiful things to see and do. This is a special place
Most beautiful place I have ever seen
People need to learn to drive
Absolutely beautiful! My only criticism is that there aren't many camp spots that accommodate trailers and RVs over 24'.
Time of my life
So beautiful!
Beautiful and a little lower elevation that Banff and Jasper parks so we saw a little more wild life
Beautiful
Amazing scenery! Take time and stop along the way to really take it all in!
Everything is great except I'm pretty sure they don't spend any of that park pass money on the roads.
Nice view
Loved it ! Especially the canyons are so great.
If you like camping red streak camground is the best with all the facilities and its right in town and close to hot spring.
Great place to reconnect with nature.
Peaceful walk!
How can you not like a national park? One of the many places of beauty and wonder in this great nation.
A great place to walk, hike, picnic, etc. Listen to the nature, breathe in the air. A wonderful place
Loved the scenery, and looking at wildlife.
If u love animals, a good place to visit.
Very nice park. Great staff! So friendly and helpful! Red Streak is very close to the Radium Hot Springs and has great views. Really enjoyed our stay!
Amazing! Can't believe I've overlooked Kootenay National Park all this time; it is wonderful. We camped at Marble Canyon and then took a guided Parks Canada hike to Stanley Glacier and the fossil beds. Our guide, Ardelle, was wonderful; very informative and engaged. We learned a lot and really enjoyed fossil hunting. Afterwards we checked out Marble Canyon (beautiful!) and the Paint Pots (ho hum). Will be back next year to do Rockwall!
Gorgeous mountains, less crowded that adjacent Banff or Jasper, fantastic hiking. Honestly it would be five stars without Redstreak campground, which is the worst campground in the rockies. Stay at Marble Canyon and you'll be happy, great hiking up the canyon there.
Brilliant walks and views.
Very nice place. Worth to visit.
I have visited kootenay for many years. I photograph wildlife and landscape and kootenay is as good as any other park in Canada for this purpose. Does not have the amenities of Banff National Park but is incredibly beautiful, raw and inspiring. It has a special place in my heart and i would recommend it to everyone.
You have to see it, to really Live.
Beautiful drive
Best place on earth
Beautiful place to visit
The most beautiful scenic highway in Canada. Coming from British Columbia towards the Alberta border watch for the unfolding spectacular View on Castle Mountain. Watch the changing hues of blue opalel and turquoise and green jade of the rivers you are travelling along. In fall and winter watch out for elks all over the places.
Beautiful scenery and wildlife. Peaceful
We often head into the park and hike on the weekends, there are not often many people so it is nice and quiet there and done challenging hikes. Saw Grizzly bears, Black bears, got photos of their faces which is fantastic as usually my skills involve only animal behinds, lol it was a treat to see, however no Bighorn sheep this visit way too hot.
Less busy than the "big two".
Wish go back again!
Had a great time with my family the views are wonderful and plenty.
