This shop has great supplies and wonderful employees. Eduardo is one of the employees and he speaks Spanish and I do too so it was easier to have a conversation with him. He is funny and helpful. We had a great time shopping there. Thanks Eduardo.

I understand it was close to closing time, her coworkers were very friendly and helpful. Her on the other hand was the complete opposite. I wanted 1 item, and I needed to try it on before buying. I live 2 1/2 hours away from the mall, so bringing it in for exchange would be diffacult. I asked her if I could try on the sweater before buying, she snapped at me yes. So I went to the back, slipped it on and it fit so I Get to the front to pay, she rushed me, and was again very snappy. Right when it was time to pull out the debit card I realized my friend still had my debit card!! I was just as upset as the lady, but for her to glare at me and sigh. I asked can I run and get my card, she replied and said angrily YOU HAVE ONE MINUTE. Nope. I just left the store. She was the only one who was impatient and mean and out of the other 2 workers. Rude. I wasn't taking my time, I was rushing because I felt rushed. I wish I got her name, she had an accent, and dark curly hair. Maybe she had a bad day, either way It was uncalled for.

UPDATE: Too bad I cannot give a zero. No response to review, no response to email, no response to phone call, and no response to FB Messenger. This company really does NOT care about their customer's experiences! They’d rather stick to “Company Policy” and accuse me of being a crook than honor a sale price on an item that was purchased three days prior. Doesn’t matter if I have proof of purchase and the manager remembers selling it to my mom. Because the item was an hour away on my kid I couldn’t get my $20 store credit. Was told I could have found the receipt anywhere and could be going store to store to get that $20 credit in all the West 49 stores. Might make sense if your stores were only a few minutes apart. But figure out the gas and time to get to the next store (2+ hours) and explain how that makes sense. You just lost a customer with three kids. And all these kids have friends with parents who will hear about this. I hope my negative customer experience was worth keeping your $20 store credit. Way to go West 49 for sticking to company policy.

What happened to west 49 ? I remember going to the one at Mayfair mall .They actually had a skate wall skate videos playing and a good selection. Now it's zooyork everything and only complete skateboards. I walked out immediately and went to another store. These corporations destroyed island riders and now don't have much to choose from. Sad......

Eduardo is a really good person, he likes to talk with his clients and help them. A nice and really cheap shop. The best place of the mall and nice workers.

Very disappointed, West 49 “ The skateboard store” maybe back in the 90’s! They don’t even carry grip tape, bearings or sell boards separate anymore. All their advertising for different brands and only carry 3 brands now that are sub par quality, I guess profit margins said cloths in a skate shop are more important than actual skate board equipment. what a joke.

My Son and I were at the west 49 in Nanaimo today. The guys here (staff) were awesome very helpful ???? really good experience. Would recommend shopping here to anyone!! Made my son super happy thanks it's appreciated
