Great lunch in the bistro. Fresh milk and cinnamon buns.

Rob Black

Worth it if you'd like some neat cheese. The winery bit is... A work in progress! But the cheese is fantastic. Bring a two litre jug and fill up on the freshest milk you'll ever get.

Bryn Erickson

Great cheese, the wine is good too. Fun place to visit.

Mike Mamula

Loved this little farm! Great place to bring your family to see the operation, sample some awesome local cheese's, and taste the wine! Awesome staff, very friendly!

Austin Watase

Steven Astle

Friendly staff and great cheese and wine

Sarah Hermsen

It was amazing to get to visit this working dairy farm. The cheese they produce is absolutely amazing and their winery produces, by far, the best fruit wines I've ever tasted and they are very reasonably priced. The wines aren't sweet dessert wines and aren't too dry that they lose their fruit flavours. I was blown away by how perfectly delicious their wines are! Wine and cheese? What a great place to visit!!

Andrew Morrison

Great fun, great cheese!

Great farm, good cheese. Wish they had more barn animals.

The farm tour was okay, but to be honest I didn't pay much attention. I was here for the store, which contains excellent fruit wines and cheeses. The wines are much better than you would expect. Not sweet at all. The gooseberry wine is as tart as can be, and the blueberry wine smells faintly of lavender. And the cheeses are delicious. I especially liked the red wine cheese and feta with herbs.

Justin Krem

Tons of different cheeses to choose from. Also have a working farm with animals that you can visit. Fun for the whole family.

Fun! Cows, horses, goats and cheese curds. What more can you ask for. Get a litre of milk from the self serve fresh milk dispenser.

Bev Dranchuk

It was awesome. Tried the wines and cheeses. Very good. Also, tasted the icecream which was excellent.

Stevi MacGillivray

Recommended by family, this place was really great to visit. The lady we met with had a lot of information about the wines and the cheeses and was very sweet. Both cheeses and wine were very unique and we purchased a cooler so we could buy more to take home.

Emily Dreher

Free fun! Loved the baby calves ❤

Kale Stedman

Really neat small working farm with a shop full of their products: cheeses of all kinds and a cool milk bottle filler machine thing. The shop also has a ton of local foods and gifts from local farms and artisans, as well as wine tasting for local fruit wines (so good) and a cafe serving up fresh baked goods and coffee drinks (featuring their cows' milk!) - including Irish coffees ;) Best part, though, is the fully automated milking machine: the barn has a room where cows can wander in on their own accord and hang out chewing their cud contentedly while a robot locates their udders, attaches and starts milking, detaching automagically when the cow is done. Apparently the cows love it so much they get themselves milked about 6 times per day (compared to 2x for traditionally milked cows) - and when I was there, I saw 3 cows queuing up, so I believe it! There was also a robot that was essentially a Roomba for manure, which is disgustingly clever. Such a cool, high-tech farm, and it's super cool to just wander the grounds exploring (and abiding by the signs) - don't miss the baby cows or piglets! Also, it stinks. The whole place smells like animals, animal poop, and animals covered with poop. This should be expected when visiting a working farm, but I overheard a lady complaining about it while I was there. Go fig ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Ken Rymer

Very cool place. Worth checking out for sure!

Kala McKenzie

A great place for family fun! A delicious cafe for lunch, and a fun petting zoo for the kids. There's a very informative tour as well. Don't forget to stop in the store for cheese and wine samples!

Alley Zone

A great place to visit for kids and adults. Tour the farm, sample and buy cheese and wine. And now they have a milk dispenser that dispenses their own grass fed cow's milk. They have a robotic milker that lets the cows decide when they want to be milked. Also new, they have a coffee bar and picnic tables. We didn't try anything there though

Michelle Gibbs

Thank You Little Qualicum Cheeseworks for your great products and currently offering delivery !

Anson Li

Great short stop to bring the kids. Change area available along with picnic area. Then there's the animals and cheese, of course.

Great little farm and cheese shop. Spent about an hour here with two small kids and they enjoyed it. Self-guided tours are perfect to go at your own pace and check out the cows and other animals.

Julie Rice

Your cheese is lovely and your winery is special too! I only have one complaint and it's a biggy! Your calves are taken from their mothers and never allowed to be weened. I don't understand this cruel practice that prevails in the dairy industry. Why is a mother not allowed to nurse her calf? If she produces 40 litres of milk a day is this not more than enough? Could you not let her nurse her own baby that would only drink maybe 8 litres a day. A baby cow , 3 days old, in a tiny stall that it cannot even see out of seems unnecessarily cruel to me. This is what I witnessed on your farm today. I was told by the kind lady in your shop that cows are not maternal and they do not care about their babies.Wow! This is so not true. I cannot even imagine how a human being would presume to know how a cow feels! The whole dairy industry is in for a big wake up call soon and if you are really such a quaint little family friendly farm it might be in your best interest to be ahead of it and change the way you do things. Lead the way, so to speak. Or at least be honest and stop calling it a milking parlour and call it what it is...a place where you steal all the baby's milk and then make cheese to sell. Please think about it and at least let these babies be weened and not ripped from their mothers less than 24 hours from being born.

Beautiful little farm and facility! Nice to see happy staff and animals!!!

Kellie Lapshinoff

Delicious cheese and wine! How could you not love this place. They have milk on tap that is not like your store bought one. So yummy!

Michelle Avent

Buy here! Staff was very professional, polite, and so helpful. My mother loved the cheeses! All of them! Thank you!

Tania Van Tuinen

We visited because we love their cheese! The experience was wonderful... The farm is beautiful and efficient

Kevin Gourlay

Pretty decent

Stephanie Churcher

We took our toddler here and he loved the animals. Wine and cheese were excellent. The store had a great selection of farm trucks and animals which was very hard to resist buying all of them. You can buy fresh milk too at a great price. Will return.

Nancy Lee

What a beautiful little spot brimming with local goodness. We went on a whim after hearing great things about their "Free Range Box." This needs to be ordered a day ahead of time; however, the very helpful and friendly lady working at the store helped us select a variety of delicious choices to custom make our own. As a result, we had the most awesome combination of cheese, crackers, and jelly spreads to make any picnic a stellar event. Also, when you go, take time to walk around the beautiful farm and displays. This place is a local treasure. 5 stars.

Martin Crawford

Elena Winkel

Great place for dairy-lovers. The farm looks great, good place for kids to learn something about the procedure to make cheese etc. Lovely animals and great display in shop, you can try the cheese and wine before you buy it. Good value

Such a lovely variety! They have a great offering of local products in addition to their own. We were able to get most things on sale because we got ends of cheese rather than whole blocks. We did not do the self guided tour because it was cold/snowing but I look forward to coming back on a nice day and checking out the grounds!

Very cute spot to stop by if you have little kids. Splurged on some cheese I had never tried before, got fresh milk from the dispenser which we all enjoyed very much! And got some famous 'squeaky cheese" , oh is that ever the REAL stuff! I am originally from Quebec and I have been craving this stuff for a while but couldnt find an authentic cheese curd! Well, now I found it!!! Now they just need to make real poutine! I would drive from Ladysmith just for that! Haha! Sad side note though, the wonder maker retired so they do not have the winery anymore and when we went there wasnt any ice cream...thank goodness I had cookies in the car so I avoided a meltdown from my kid wanting ice cream!

Connor Hawkins

Very cool spot! Tasty cheese!

Fun family outing! There is something for everyone. Love the whole milk, and the dispenser is neat. The wines are great. The cheese is so scrumptious. Thursdays at 4pm they have fresh cheese curds. This place is the only place we can find this sqeaky cheese on the west coast. Must see!!!

Positive: Gravel but level campsites, woodsy, shady, quiet. Nice place for meditation. Don't forget to check out the falls. They are quite amazing. Negatives: No showers, outhouse style toilets, and no sewer dump for campers, only water spigots scattered throughout the campgrounds.

Xinli Liu

Not many farm stocks as I expected. Cafeteria is nice, fresh milk served. Wine tasting is good.

Nina Zurita

I didn't go on the tour of the farm, as I had 3 soaking wet dogs with me, but everything I purchased today is robust in flavour. Ethically raised cows is a win for everyone. Balsamic vinaigrette, hot jill cheese, Qualicum spice cheese, cheese curds, artisan crackers... All amazing. A+

Great place for cheese as well as great for kids. The farm yard has lots of young animals for kids to interact with. And don't forget the Mooberry Fruit Wines.

Delicious lattes made with whole milk and a self serve whole milk dispenser!! Amazing and inexpensive! Highly recommended. Best curds this side of the Rockies.

Michael Thain

Lots of animals to see, samples of cheese and fruit wine available. Cheese is very good!

Dave Kachanoski

Cheers wine and a trip to the farm. Paradise walk was.

ChelSea

One of the best free activities on the island! Visit the animals: bunnies, goats, sheep, ducks, donkeys, cows, and even fish and all their babies. See and learn all about their automated milking system and how it is tailored to their cows, healthier, and by the cows choice. Visit the shop for samples of Little Qualicum Cheeseworks cheeses and MooBerry Wine fruit wines and take some of these or other souvenirs or food items home with you. They even have a milk machine where you can fill up your own bottle (or purchase one from the shop) with milk straight from the cows; it is the only machine of its kind in Canada, $2 per litre.

Deepali Raiththa

Was a cute lil cheese factory, existing since decades, self guided tour. A small shop inside the facatory to buy fresh cheese.

Mary G

Fantastic place to visit and see the animals and equipment. Delicious cheese! The automatic milk dispenser was fun to use and the milk out of it was amazing. Went back for a second visit on our way back through the area!

Louis Chartrand

Perfect family outing. Young kids loved the scavenger hunt and farm. Could have brought the kids a few times in the same week and they would have had fun. Oh, and the cheese is good too.

Bob

A great place to take the kids and no entrance fee. Lots of critters and livestock to observe on a working farm and some to touch. They have an awesome milk dispenser with the day's fresh milk. ($2/liter Container extra). Oh yeah, there is cheese and fruit wine too. There's plenty to sample.

Richard Dey

Great place! Delicious cheese, a great shop with local items and a coffee shop inside! The farm is great to see. We saw a baby cow that was 3 days old, it was precious. We got to feed some bigger baby cows and chat to some adult cows (they are SO loud it's surprising every time)

Julie mauro

Justin Scott

Thomas & Jenna Elwood

Great cheese selections with local influences! All of the cheeses are unique and delicious, and if you go on a thursday you can buy their cheese curds made fresh that day! They have what I think is the BEST raclette cheese that I have had in North America- with a lovely nutty and fruity taste, which is delicious melted on potatoes and veggies. However, any of their cheeses would make an excellent addition to a dinner party, charcuterie board, or gift basket. Such as their fromage frais with cranberries and pepper-perfect for the holidays! The farm is a great place to bring kids along, there is a place you can have a picnic with views of the fields and the mountains. And don’t forget to bring along your milk bottle to top up on some delicious whole farm fresh milk.

Did the quiet self guided tour of the cheeseworks and found it to be a short but quality adventure. The store was nice providing samples of all of their cheeses and had a nice wine sampling to try as well. Be prepared for some tart gooseberry wine! The cheese was outstanding and definitely caters to many degrees of palette sensitivities.

Great milk, good cheese. The raclette is the only cheese to my taste, others are rather bland. Wish they would make some more aged cheeses.

Kaylie Belcourt

This was a lovely little hidden gem. You can do a self guided tour through their farm. They have fresh milk, cheese, meats and other things as well as coffees, teas and some snacks (I had the salted caramel latte and it was delicious). The of course have sweet farm animals that consist of cows, calves, sheep, llamas, goats, bunnies and we managed to find a cuddly barn kitty. The animals there are very loved and well taken care of and the staff are so friendly! They do have washrooms and a cute little gift shop too! Definitely recommend making a stop here if you can.

Ken Dowdle

Always a great experience. And cheese curds!

Kathy Sopher

Amazing cheese great service love to see all the animals!!! Keep up the great work

I got licked by a calf! Such a cool place. See the cows that you can buy cheese and milk from! Also bunnies and goats. Could have spent way more at the gift shop. The cheese is amazing. A good stop on the way to Campbell River or up north. I'll be back for more cheese.

John Bellini

Simple self guided tour farm that makes cheese. Cheese is good, animals seem to be well kept and happy. Quite, simple.place to visit.

Really good place to take your kids to see some farm animals. Free to park and walk around. They have a store that's sells there chesse and other items. Store to buy the in house made cheese and lot other products. Clean washrooms. Benches for relaxing and tasting. Milk(organic and local) vending machine. Plenty of options and kids never wanted to leave even after 2 hours.

Incredible sandwiches, beautiful surroundings, and awesome and amazing people who work here who amazingly open up their farm to the public free of charge. If you come here for the milk alone it's worth the trip! Best milk I've ever tasted! But we always pick up some cheese, wine and maple syrup as well. Absolutely a joy to visit. Lovely setup, ideal for kids. The cheese is delicious and so are their fruit wines. The experience of their whole setup is simply worth partaking in. They do cheese demonstration, but it's early morning, so time it accordingly.

Love the lay out of the premises great for looking at things, having ice cream and shopping. Products are amazing

Lovely place to walk around, but I was hoping to see more. I specifically went to this place hoping to see and learn how cheese was made. There was one small window where you can watch them cut and package and no one really wanted to explain anything about the process. I would say it might be interesting to a family with children under 6, but it was not that interesting to a 10 and 14 year old. The cheese was very tasty! The wine too. A great place to buy stuff, but not a place to plan a tour of.

Jarrod Lehman

Some of the best fresh milk on the island. Their assortment of jams, wines and ice creams are simply fantastic. I'd go as far as to say it's a must see for the region. Here you can view the farm's history as well as the the process of creating their delicious fresh produce. The fresh milk vending machine is worth the trip alone.

SIMPLE FUN like you don't get nowadays. Just park your car. follow the signs. Walk around the farm to see and pet the many farm animals, newborn calf to cow, sheep, goat, donkey, horse, pigs, rabbits, cats and dogs. We LOVED it. There is a little 30min walking trail too. Pretty muddy in the winter and not too many animals around but a little cat hunting and so many geese (or swans?!) Beautiful! would try again in summer for sure! Little peaceful couple outing. Went to the gift shop after that, tasted some cheese, then wine tasting (fruits wine!). Charming! Took many pictures but uploading just a few; go see for yourself! :)

Dawood Francis

Awesome place to visit. Delicious cheese, wine tasting and of course the happiest cows anywhere!

TKP

Great place to spend an hour walking around seeing and petting the animals. Small market has a nice selection of house made dairy products and Island made foods. The daily fresh, dispense yourself ($2 ltr) , high fat milk milk is amazing. The Cafe serves the best grill cheese's this side of wherever grill cheese's are from.

Very lovely stop at this farm, the animals were content with their food supply, enjoyed the information provided with a self tour guide. The wine wasn't to my taste buds liking, but not a connoisseur of wines. I only liked the apple flavored wine out of 3-4 tastings. The tourist souvinir shop was okay as I bought a souvenir of horses for my granddaughter. The cheese tasting was delightful.

Such a fun welcoming and affordable place to spend the day! Perfect for individuals and families of all ages and abilities. Lots to see, do and explore. Happy to support a local business that has been acknowledged for its good animal practices.

My kids love it here, we visit 2-3 times a month! They love seeing the cows, goats, sheep, chickens and horses - all for free. In the summer the “calfe” has yummy snacks and really good coffee. And the cheese you can purchase in the shop is so tasty.

Lindsey Wolchyn

Such a well kept place. The animals are beautiful and healthy. The gift shop had lots of cool items. Cheese is so good. Brought home the cheese curds and made the best homemade poutine!

Amazing. Love the open access to the animals and process. Self guided tour was a blast with the kids. Bought lots of cheese and fresh milk. I love that they have opened up the farm to educate and allow consumers to be part of the experience.

What a great place. Fresh, whole milk, several types of cheeses, and Mooberry Winery as well. Very friendly staff! This is one of my most favourite locations in the whole area!

This is a regular stop on my shopping day. I love the outdoor bulk milk dispenser and straight-from-the-udder milkfat percentage! There's also cheese, frozen local meat and a farmyard full of animals. I bring a glass milk jar or even mason jar but you can buy a container there too. The cows lined up at the rotating brush make my day.

Kenny Fung

Good place to bring your kids. Cheese was good but a little pricey considering you're buying directly from the "factory".

The most delicious grilled cheese sandwiches I have ever tried in my life!!! Loved the milk dispenser machine! You can buy fresh milk by a cup or a bottle right there!

Lots of reviews about a great place to see animals - true enough. However, I found the cheese, and wine, over priced and under whelming. It's great to support local products but at what cost? The blackberry wine I bought sure didn't taste like the sample that was offered on the premises. I'm going to use it for cooking. Cheese curds were good, but the others, just all right.

Barry N Jones

Very good quality and lots of variety. Wine tasting as well(Mooberry Wines)

Jon Bowles

Amazing dairy products, great fruit wine, and the best part was cuddling the baby cows!

A lex

Fun and customer-friendly. A mix of a store, petting zoo and just a good place to stop by when on Vancouver Island. Cheese selection is great, milk from a "vending machine" is ice cold and oh so tasty. Rabbits are cute, but goodness those 4 week calfs are even cuter. And all the funny signs just add to its character and appeal. Recommend.

Diane Walsh

Superb variety of cheeses. We were encouraged and tasted all the fruit wines. Delicious! I was fascinated with the robotic milking operation and the way the cows queued eagerly to enter.

C Rogers

Very friendly and well-run family farm. Great place to wander around. We appreciated the efforts they put into giving their milk cows a break each year as well. Suggestions about the young calves, since this is so tourist reliant - could they spend a few more days with their mother before being separated? And could the 4 week old calves have a small field to run around in? Great to see the cows enjoying themselves, and the care given to the animals.

A little gem off the beaten path. I have lived here for nearly two decades and never been here. I am not sure how they can have a working dairy so close to a cafe and not smell like a barn. But they do! Really interesting cheese and whole, unpasteurized milk for sale...along with normal tourist mix of souvenirs. What is very notable is the interesting selection of locally made fruit wines. They run wine and cheese tastings and suggest pairings. It was quite fun! Excellent parking but not easily found. However, follow the GPS and you will have no difficulty.

Small working farm. SPCA approved. Family and children friendly. They make cheese and wine. The first robotic system for milking the cows that I've seen. We saw a just born calf and how they get the colostrum from the Mom to feed the calf as soon as possible. Friendly staff, ready to explain the activities and story of the farm. There is a store for the dairy products including cheeses from the farm.

You NEED to get the feta whip. Oh my gawd. Best cheese I've tried. The farm is also super fun and we are old!!! It would be fun for kids as they have scavenger hunts through the farm and you get to see all the animals. We saw calfs, llamas, sheep, goats, and cows. It's very cool for a stop on your trip. But! Get the cheese.

This is an integrated cheese-making facility that has cows that produce milk that is then used for making a variety of cheese that can be purchased in their on-site store. They also have calfs and horses for viewing. Great for kids. The cow milking facility is automated, which is neat. We bought the Mt. Moriarty cheese and really enjoyed it.

Nice little place to take family

Lindsay Suddaby

Beautiful place with fantastic cheeses! We had lunch at the "Calfé" - the maple baked brie was TO DIE FOR. It's neat to tour around the farm and see the fancy barn for the milking cows. They get milked by a robot whenever they feel like it! And I got licked by a three-day-old calf, which was adorable.

Great cheese, nice cows!

Great place to buy good cheese and berry wines, while also being a fun stop for little ones. I feel like the two listings of Qualicum Cheeseworks and Mooberry wines should be one, even if they're separate labels or whatever. But in any case this is a great place to get local cheese (including curds!), ice cream and wine. It's also a neat stop for kids to see cows with their calves, bunnies and ponies.

Clayton Heffernan

Interesting self guided tour and friendly staff. Cute knickknacks and toys in the shop and cheese, of course! I think Zola recognizes her name when we were talking to her.

Always fun place to visit. Cows were in the shed and there were some baby calves to see too. Also bring a container for fresh milk. It is delicious and so creamy. 4.25% fat content the day we went. Yummmm. They also have meat from local farms that they sell in the store. And of course their cheeses which are awesome.

Despite it being a farm, its cleaned and clearly well taken care of. The animals look healthy and loved. A great area that my children and myself enjoyed

Located on the Morningstar farm & is open to the public. On site is an automated dairy farm, Mooberry Winery & Qualicum cheeseworks. Feel free to walk around the property to watch automated cow milking, visit the rabbits, horses & donkeys. There is even an automated piece of equipment that works like a Roomba to keep pushing the hay close to the cows so they can continually feed. Be sure to stop at the store to do some wine & cheese tasting. During the summer there is also a "fairy trail to explore. Love this pla

A bit on the pricy side compared to a few places I have been but the products are all fresh and flavourful. The inclusion of free samples for all the wine and cheeses makes it easy to determine which is best for you. It is nice to have the other features of the farm available (such as petting zoo) making for a fun family experience. Gotta love the cheese curds! Check it out if you are in the area!
