Me faire accueillir par un air de beu, pas plaisant. En somme, je voulais relaxer un peu en marchant dans les sentiers et m'écraser dans une des chaises. D'abord, c'est quoi c'te festival de voiturettes de golf qui passent sans cesse? Y'a un concours? Un rallye? Pas une minute sans se faire dépasser. Une employée de la sécu a carrément quitté le chemin pour bifurquer vers une fontaine pour remplir sa précieuse bouteille d'eau. Pas grave ma grande, c'était juste sur mes pieds que t'as passé près de rouler. Parlant de sécu, voitures Garda à essence qui passaient tout le temps, parfois un peu trop vite. Dans les sentiers étroits du jardin des ombres, dépassée par une voiturette de golf de la sécu à vive allure. Il m'a presque accrochée. Je lui ai laissé savoir mais il a continué. En revenant par le chemin est, j'ai été frôlée par une cycliste. Elle a bifurqué vers une section réservée aux employés. Coudonc, le jardin c'est rendu Death Race 2000 ou quoi? finalement j'ai été relaxer au coin de St-Laurent et Mont-Royal. Plus calme et moins dangereux. Je reviendrai lorsque le jardin sera redevenu un jardin. Seul point positif: le jardin des Première Nations, parce que je me retrouve chez-moi.

The Montreal Botanical Garden is one of the greatest garden I've had the chance to visit around the globe. The Space for Life with the Planetarium, Biodôme, Insectarium and Garden are very nice places to spend a day or 2 with kids or even by yourself. Although the Hot Houses and the Insectarium at the garden are open all year round, I think the best time to go would be August or September, or for Halloween.

They have some great shows/movies but I expected them to be longer for the price. Both the ones I saw were only roughly 20 minutes. Not a lot of activities or exhibits but I think part of it is currently (late 2019) under construction. If you can get a combo deal then I would say it's worth it.

For those with an interest in nature, this complex has three different offerings. I have been to two of them and found them both great. The botanical gardens are enjoyable even for people who do not have a big interest in flowers. The centerpiece is a Chinese pavilion that is truly beautiful and there are lots of peaceful places to wander and enjoy a leisurely walk. In the autumn, there is a lantern festival in the evenings that is really nice. There are usually Chinese lantern sculptures as well as installations that feature timed lighting effects and music. The biodome is fantastic for anybody who wants to see animals. It recreates three ecosystems and allows you to see a variety of animals in a simulation of their natural environment. The penguins are a big crowd-pleaser. The recreation of our region's environment includes some otters who are frequently playing and fun to watch.

When there are a lot of people, the experience is less pleasant so it may be worth checking the traffic hours before going there. It is easy to park nearby and the metro is a short walk away. Mon fils de 2 ans a adoré les 2 fois. Quand il y a beaucoup de monde, l'expérience est moins agréable donc il peut être intéressant de vérifier les heures d'achalandage avant de s'y rendre. Il est facile de se stationner dans les alentours et le métro est à quelque pas.

Resident in the Montreal Botanic Garden, the museum is a one block walk from a metro stop making for easy access via public transportation. Like the garden, the museum is spacious and quiet although the quietness might've had something to do with the time of year of our visit. Nevertheless, our visit was pleasant and calming on a bright, crisp, sunny day.

The website isn't super clear about the fact that everything is pretty well closed. Showed up was told by someone who works there to walk around the building the wrong way. Then was told by someone else that basically everything was closed then arrive at the one thing open wait in like for 30 min in the sun to find out that you pay extra for the night show (we arrive at 12 ) we aren't planning on staying for the night show, but have to pay for it anyway. Left because who wants to pay extra for something they aren't going to. Pay $20 for parking ... Didn't do anything there. If this had been better advertised this might not have happened. Just a warning to call ahead and plan accordingly.
