Interesting habitat to visit. Amazing natural environment.
Beautiful trails, chickadee feeding
Peaceful place to enjoy nature. Feeding the chickadees made the experience even more special!
The Wye Marsh is one of our favorite venues to head out for an afternoon with the family. A membership is a fantastic way to support them, and give your family the gift of time! The gift shop is also a great place to check out during the gift giving season, or birthdays! Staff are always friendly, and knowledgeable.
A beautiful location for any nature lover
Amazing experience feeding the chickadees.Loved the traìls.
The staff are great, friendly & knowledgable. Trails are well taken care of & easy enough to hike & enjoy the wild life. “Birds of prey” are beautiful, such amazing creatures!
We didn’t expect such a great experience with their free bird of pray show! It was an one hour show full with information and variety of birds. The guide gave vivid explanations about why these wild birds ended up here and how are they taking care of the birds. I strongly recommend attending the session if you pay a visit. The trial was scenic too! You have plenty of opportunities to spot wild animals.... frogs, turtles, woodpeckers, swans, snakes......
Absolutely amazing. It was relatively cheap, I was able to see some really amazing birds and even got to feed a chickadee out of my hand, I saw a baby squirrel, saw some turtles and frogs as well. Not to mention the absolutely amazing learning experience it provided for my younger brother. 100% would recommend!
We loved it, want to visit in the summer!
(Translated) Beautiful birds of prey demonstration where you get very close to the animals. The only point of criticism: the background is not exactly photogenic, so a postcard photo is rather unlikely.
Really enjoyed my visit, especially the Birds of Prey show that is put on every Saturday at 1:00pm.
Amazing place no bugs and good for children
Great place to visit year round.
Amazing!
Nice
Wonderful location and enjoy it on every visit. If you enjoy nature and the outdoors then this is a place you want to visit.
Great place to go with kids. Good displays and predatory bird demonstration. Walking trails around the property.
Feeding wild birds from your hand is amazing. Birds of Prey exhibition is not to be missed on Saturday and Sunday. Staff interpreters are very knowledgeable and reply to questions in a way that I can understand. Strongly recommend for X-C skiing and snowshoeing. Bring your own equipment or rent it at Wye Marsh. Very clean facilities.
Even in the winter the Wye Marsh is a great place to visit. Fantastic hiking trails that are great for families, including a boardwalk over the marsh, with plenty of opportunities to learn about and see wildlife. Over the years I've had the opportunity to see snakes, the cutest tiniest baby snapping turtles, painted turtles, an owl, Trumpeter Swans, ducks, and chickadees that eat out of your hand. There's a Trumpeter Swan rehabilitation centre as well as a birds of prey area. Also a fascinating up close look at a working bee hive. Dogs are permitted (yay!). Honestly one of my favourite places to go when visiting Midland.
My family and I love visiting Wye Marsh in any season. Always friendly staff and something interesting to see.
Fresh snowfall, great winter wonderland hike.
A true treasure for our community!
I love going here to feed the chickadees or chipmunks and enjoy the outdoors.
What a great gem. If you haven't been here, go! The birds of prey exhibit is fantastic. Up close and personal. It's a great place tucked away from the city life. Go there when you get a chance. You will not be disappointed!!!!
Hand feed chickadees and chipmunks! Lots of fun.
Very well laid out. Great interpretive signs. Beautiful marsh.
Very nice place to walk around and spend time with family! It is too bad though that we didn't get to see too many animals, but we did see a frog, a couple Chipmunks and bugs! There are also many exhibitions to enjoy, such as net fishing and canoeing (which is very fun)!
Great place for a walk at any time of year. The volunteers really work hard to create a great experience. Take your kids/grandkids to feed the birds by hand. Such a natural treasure.
Beautiful had a great day
Great spot to take kids. Be careful Needs a little maintenance on one of the board walks. It is broken and under water.
Absolutely beautiful place to visit!! Excellent trails and lots to see.
A truly wonderful and peaceful experience. If you want to get back in touch with nature and see some amazing birds, from swans to birds of prey, this is a place for you.
My grandson was thrilled , spotting frogs and seeing the birds of prey.
Tame chickadees make this a memorable trip. Don't forget to buy seeds, available at the wildlife center for 25c!
Really peaceful. Very educational. Lots of wildlife.
Fun for my dog to run.
Great trails for exploring nature. Chickadees can get voracious at times!
We went on family day. There is alot to learn and see here. We enjoyed watching the bees at the hives, and the boardwalk in the marsh.
Great outdoor nature and wildlife attraction with courteous staff. Nets are provided for the kids to try their luck catching critters in the marsh along the boardwalk. Excellent photography opportunities too.
Great to be outdoors, informative trails, birds of prey sanctuary and chance for kids to be immersed in nature. Listening to Chickadees in the forest is magical.
Grate place for walk
Great nature park, amazing wildlife, bring your camera
Great place to spend an afternoon enjoying nature.
Great place to see nature and it's Fall colours.
Excellent experience and so many knowledgeable, helpful staff. Learned so much and especially enjoyed the birds of prey show!
Beautiful place
Excellent wildlife learning centre for adults and kids
great outdoor adventure with the kids.. only thing that troubled us was the wild birds, snakes and turtles in cages.
We did the Ecotour snowshoeing experience and would do it every weekend if we could! Our guides were very knowledgeable, fun and nice, the marshland is amazing with several different trails, the history of the whole region is very interesting and is full of flora and fauna. A very informative and fun experience, you even get to hand-feed chickadees! Right before the way back there was a break and they provided us with hot chocolate and several mixed snacks (all of them of good quality brands). It lasted 3full hours, it was around 5k but you better be fit in some manner because the pace is pretty fast (of course they will slow down the pace to if someone is tired or cannot hold up). As a bonus, they took us to see the swan pond which was amazing!
Absolutely a delight ! The lady at reception was ever so kind and informed us, to not take up the tickets if we ly have 45 - 60 mins to spare ...but rather stay and feed the chikadees, she was even gracious enough to hand us some free birdseeds ... The adult ticket costs just about $12 and there are discounts for students plus groups of 20. The souvenir shop was closed but I managed to get my hands on these delightful hand carved pens + a wood pencil, under $10 each too ? Impressive.....can't wait to try!
Hot damn big swans.
See upclose (and listen) to trumpeter swans! A nice pleasant walk in the forest and a pretty scenic boardwalk!
great place. go 5 times a year.
Beautiful
Relaxed. Wonderful. Staff is great
Always a fun time walking the trails and feeding the chickadees
Beautiful spot to explore
Great place for a date, tourists, family friendly fun or just to learn stuff on your own! There are many kilometers of hiking and walking trails in the summer. In the summer I would consider the place accessible for those with mobility concerns. In the winter there's great snowshoeing and skiing. The trails aren't always cleared so those with wheelchairs may have a concern getting around. Try feeding the chickadees! Or visit the birds of prey. There is a daily feeding at 1pm.
Awesome, place to explore nature. And a great and friendly staff.
So happy we stopped here. Not only do they have an amazing hiking trail and boardwalk, there is so much wildlife and the chickadees land right on your hand. We watched the birds of prey demonstration which was incredible, and they have turtles and other animals to see in the main building. Would highly recommend this place, in any season! I'd love to go back in the summer.
My first time there and I was simply awestruck, I've seen Marshes before but nothing like this, the trails are impeccable and the boardwalk is well kept and a pleasure to walk. The views are astounding, I took so many pictures, it's peaceful and Serene, I think children would be fascinated. I will definitely be back again hoping to pre-register for a kayaking Excursion. If not this year it is on the list for next year for sure. Definitely a place to visit, an incredible visual experience and the sounds you will hear, nature showing us what it does best and that we should just leave it alone. A must-see for everybody that lives in Ontario!
(Translated) This place was very nice to look at .... you could see some animals and the paths are very nicely laid out ... on average if you have walked all the paths you are about 5 km on the way ..... at the beginning there is a small visit center with information. What was really great and was a lot of fun was the little Meissen that you can feed everywhere on the go ..... in the Visitercenter you can get bird food for 25 pence ..... the birds come in and eat out of your hand .... very fun to watch. A great excursion for young and old ... can only recommend it.
Great place for a hike. Couldn’t believe that there was hardly anyone there last week when we went. Great lookout and boardwalks, and some birds eat out of your hands. Frogs, fish, and some amazing live predatory birds on display.
Amazing Ontario gem! Great place to visit as a day trip from Toronto
Lots of swan! Lots of swan! Lots of swan! Will come later to see swan babies!
It was nice. To tame for my liking.
Excellent place for the whole family. Definitely somewhere to check out. Lots to learn about the local Canadian wildlife Also a spectacular area for photography and enjoying nature. The welcome center also has interesting information and exhibits for more in-depth knowledge of Canada's wetlands.
What a hidden gem.
Lucked out and arrived just in time for the birds of prey show. Very informative and even got to hold a Bald Eagle. Very cool. Good thing sanctuaries like this are here and available for us to appreciate the various birds and nature.
A local gem
Love this place
Small and expensive, lots of better free hiking trails.
Wonderful experience, great for children. Great learning experience..Highly recommend.
Every time we come to Midland we go for a walk. the gentleman who does the maple syrup is a wonderful man!
Needs TLC
Beautiful to visit and amazing staff
Always a wonderful time at Wye Marsh. It's my favorite place to go.
We love any visit to the Marsh every single time we come it is a different adventure! Today we made bannock, fed the chick-a-dees and had a fabulous walk in the warm December air. It is always so much fun here!
It was wet and icy
It was really nice.. lots of interesting things to see and lots of wildlife to view and interact with as well
Amazing location for cross-country skiing. Beautifully groomed trails, friendly, helpful staff (and volunteers!), and serene landscape. We didn't see any aggressive skiers on the trails, either. Looking forward to the next time!
Love this place.. we stopped in here to do a little winter bird watching... they have owls on display.. trumpeter swans in the marsh.. and we stopped to feed the chickadees right out of our hands... Lots of trails.. great little spot.. can't wait to go back and check it out in the spring...
Great place to go for a hike, a chance to experience nature and learn a little about the outdoors. Find a time when the Birds of Prey show is going on, always popular with kids. Feeding the chickadees is another fav with the kids.
Quite pricey for a family outing that doesn't provide much more than access to the wetland. The discovery centre was cute, but we really thought there'd be more info along the way about the plants and animals. Probably much better for booked groups with a guide than a casual visit.
A neat place to visit that does great work.
I loved this place as a kid, and now my toddler loves it too! Great space to go for a short walk or longer hike. So much to see and it was really engaging for my 2.5 year old.
Feed birds from hand! See Raptors! My goodness what a great place!!!
Go look at the majestic Trumpeter Swans, walk the trails and hand feed the chickadees and nuthatches. It's a great way to experience a wetland, especially with kids.
Beautiful trails a bird almost landed on my hand there is lots of wildlife definitely recommend going
Have gone here since I was a child (45 years ago). Loved it then, love it now. Fantastic for introducing children (and adults) to nature.
My kid like birds and especially chickadee.
Went to the Sweetwater Harvest Festival and it was so much fun!
Beautiful place a must see for sure if you are in the vicinity, they do canoe tours as well and there is a nice bike trails outside. Strongly Recommend
Excellent facility with excellent events. Sweetwater Harvest in the spring was really a great way to spend a day with family.
Beautiful. Love the canoe tour
What a peaceful and live wild park. Nice to work around and take your breath in nature
Great place for kids, nature lovers and bird watchers. They have frequent birds of prey and reptile shows (can see the schedules on their site calendar) that are amazing. I love coming in the fall and winter to feed birds (mostly chickadees will land right on your hands and look for seeds) and view all of the many trumpeter swans. It's awe inspiring to see these huge birds flying overhead, and there are many platforms to view them and overlook the marsh as well.
Volunteer staff was very friendly and helpful. Thanks for your great hospitality.
Really well kept and super nice staff
Great place for individual or for family and friends.
Get place to get closer to nature.
Great for kids and adults. Knowledgeable staff and well kept paths/equipment.
Always love coming here to feed the chickadees! They really enjoy sunflower seeds or trail mix. I suggest going mid week if possible when the center is not as busy. You will see/ hand feed a lot more birds this way.
(Translated) Beautiful discovery center on life in the marshes. (Original) Très beau centre de découverte sur la vie dans les marais.
This place is a hidden gem filled with lookout points, wildlife, boardwalk trails and wetlands. It’s relatively cheap to enter for everything you can see!
Amazing walk with kids , bird show is at 13h00 , really nice experience and family had a good day.
Wildlife area to explore.
Great for the kids. Good learning experience
Such a beautiful place for a wedding!
I am never disappointed when we go to the Wye Marsh. My 4 year old son is owl crazy and loves to see all the raptors up close. This last visit, we cooked bannock bread over the fire, had a taste of maple syrup from the sugar shack, and talked about the flora and fauna in and around the Marsh and Georgian Bay. We walked the grounds for hours until he was wet, a little cold, and too tired to walk back to the car. We got an ice cream on the way home that he never finished because he fell asleep. Best day ever!
i love this place . it is so much experience for my daughter it is so suprised to my family when we just got inter and then we see a long snake
I went there with my son in September. We saw several species of birds that I had not seen before. I found the trails well marked and maintained. The owl exhibit was very good. Unfortunately there were not any demonstrations going on when we were there.
Scenic walks along the paths & boardwalk. Plenty of wildlife to be seen including osprey, pileated woodpeckers, trumpeter swans along w/ various mammals & snakes. Ideal for families.
Recommend exploring with plant and insect ID book. Fantastic for kids. (I went to their day camp in the 90s; this place is still awesome today!)
Wonderful conservation area for birding and family outings.
Went in the early spring and very much enjoyed the experience. I also did the Raptor Rendezvous; a private experience with the birds of prey. That experience is absolutely amazing and worth every dollar. If you're a fan of big birds, or looking for a truly unique experience, I would highly suggest scheduling that experience.
2 wye marsh haikus: Honking swans are loud They're having a swan party All year long - how fun! My little dogs peed Over the entire marsh They smelled all the smells.
Well groomed & signed trails. The boardwalk is really nice. Worth the trip if you're able to see a birds of prey show during your trip. You get very close to the birds, can hold some, and can touch some. Very good for kids.
Bannock, chickadees, always a great walk outdoors with family at Wye Marsh.
Good view
This place will not disappoint. You will feel at peace in this gorgeous nature reserve! We got some native flowers to bring home that made it super fun. My favourite part was the amazing native wildflower garden! Wow!!
Good walking trails even with snow on the ground. With more snow, snow shoeing and X-country skiing.
Wye Marsh Wildlife Centre is an absolutely astonishing place to visit. There are numerous walking trails through forests, meadows and wetlands with boardwalk sections that are easily accessible for the entire family. There is a gigantic observation tower that is worth a detour. You can observe different types of birds in a wildlife centre where staff explain more about these beautiful animals. If you want to walk a loop covering the entire marsh, plan for at least two hours but there are plenty more interesting spots to discover that justify multiple visits in different seasons.
Highlight is that Chickadees picks the sunflower seeds off of our hands
Fantastic place to see nature and hang out.
Great for some time in nature
Have a membership. Beautiful place, we are lucky to have it.
A bird show featuring raptors is enjoyable
Coldest day of the year so far. The creek is still flowing and chickadees come to feed in your hand. Lovely visit as always.
No matter the time of year it is always so beautiful to walk the trails & feed the birds.
A great place to visit! We came in the off time, but there was still lots to do and see! While some of the attractions could use a little bit of attention, everything is well maintained, and the staff are very friendly. We learned lots on our stay, and even were able to hand feed some cute chickadees! An excellent place to visit if you are close by!
We paid our admission but you could so easily walk past the centre where you pay and no one would know. I had no problem with paying the $12 admission but it’s not great knowing others can just get out of it so easily.
A natural wonderland for peaceful walks and views. Pet friendly.
We went to Midland area to spent a long weekend and found Wye Marsh to be a great place to go. We took guided canoe tour and it was an amazing experience. Imagine yourself on a boat, surrounded by the flowering water lilies - it is very rewarding and serene experience. We went with a friend and her 2 kids, who thoroughly enjoyed the paddling and were excited to see the swans and turtles. Great place for families as well.
Lots of options for trails or boardwalk and it was very cool seeing so many swans in the lake.
Outstanding
Awesome place! The bird caretaker Tom was amazing. So knowledgeable and friendly. Gave us an impromptu private show with the birds. Saw lots of trumpet swans too. So many.
My kids loved walking the boardwalks and trails.
Beautiful place with trails for croissant country ski, snowshoe and hiking. Rentals available too
It has been a very long time since I was there last it was a great walk and watching my granddaughter feeding the birds and chipmunks and the look on her face priceless
Place have good landscapes. And the getting information about birds is best part of that
great marsh area with beautiful boardwalks and well set up trails. friendly staff at the visitors centre. Amazing birds of prey show!
Cool this time of year but a lovely walk... birds of prey was pretty cool
Excellent beautiful trails and staff are so kind
Great location and we'll kept.
great staff, lovely space to visit. peaceful and easy to navigate.
Beautiful
Very nice park. My 5 years old boy enjoyed it a lot. He could even get to keep an owl on his hand. Unforgettable experience for him. Will go there again for sure.
Nice place to spend outdoors and relax with the wildlife.
Disappointed the trails were not groomed otherwise as advertised :)
We came here for snowshoeing with our small family in February. It was the second visit for us. The Centre offers beautiful trails with information stations and lookouts. Feeding the chickadees is great fun for adults and children alike. The staff is friendly and welcoming.
Great for viewing/photographing wildlife. Swans, Ospreys, Herons, Ducks, Beavers to name a few. Good educational programs. Special events.
Beautiful nature trails. The kids enjoyed feeding the birds and chipmunks.
Great walk in the snow today. Also enjoyed watching the swans and the birds.
good walking place
Nice walk outside and the chickadees will come and eat from your hand, sunflower seeds are supplied at the entrance. There are a few hunting birds to see up close and a beautiful outside walk on trails
Just amazing place for nature Lovers i founded in love with swan in marsh !!
Great for kids, has great displays and family programs. The birds of prey are amazing.
Great raptor workshop experience. Worth the premium price. Also fantastic place for a walk and see nature's beauty! Very knowledgeable staff.
Great place to go for a hike. The birds of prey are awesome with all the different types of owls. I recently went up the lookout tower and it had a great view of the marsh. The swan area has so many honking swans. Would love to come back and go canoeing.
Love this place great group camping location.
Really well managed marsh land. Frogs, turtles, birds, dragonflies... No mosquitos! The boardwalk and the tower are nice. Wish it was a bit bigger.
Beautiful scenery and very nice to walk through
Such a great place, even if you do not have kids. :) The surprise were all the adorable owls there... most of them like to chill out or hide except for one owl (Casper?) who loves to show off and fly to you - but only if you look the other way. The "Bee House" actually had a swarm of bees, hearing them up close was something that I had never experienced before. Of course, the paths themselves were lovely - definitely muddy if it was recently raining so wear shoes you don't mind getting dirty. A hat and sunglasses is not a bad idea either. The boardwalk over the marsh was something very magical. Even on a long weekend it was not busy, in fact there was nobody else much of the time. I saw a lot of frogs, turtles, fishes... in the clear water below and on top of lilies. Little fact boards all over the place but not too overwhelming. You can cover the above in 2 hours, but if you had more time you can check out more pathways. Not very strenuous as the paths are pretty much all flat; the boardwalk area was very sunny, but the rest was very shaded. There are lots of benches to sit on along the way. Wye also offers a canoe tour of the marsh which sounded promising, but I only found out after that it's actually $8/pp (or so) after I went to the docks! They should have been more clear with the display boards, which only listed the start times (and the front desk person just advised us to go to the canoe docks if you were interested). If you are interested in this, please note you have to pay at the front desk area, and sign some sort of additional waiver. I feel like it would've quite interesting though! Overall, fantastic stop!
Running my photo classes there or just going for a walk along the marsh, this is one of my absolute favorite attractions / services / faith builders in humanity, that I know of. In a world that depletes everything.. From natural resources and wildlife to your very soul, the wye can replenish all of this. From rehabilitation to injured animals to maintaining a healthy marsh that is a perfect habitat for many animals more in need now than ever. I love the place and the people that run it and I hope more people visit the Wye and appreciate all it has to offer.
It's a necessary protected area, that is people-friendly. Hikes are gentle and good for all folks. You can hire canoes, and guided tours.
We took a stroll through Wye Marsh and were amazed at the natural beauty particularly at this time of year with chickadees eating seed out of our hand and the trumpeter swans showing us their mating ritual. This is a National Wetland and has the distinction of being the place where trumpeter swans were reintroduced to Ontario after a 200 year absence.
One of greatest childhood memories of nature was canoeing around the marsh and seeing the trumpeter swans
Fabulous place for families. Trails are well groomed and pet friendly.
Love it
A paradise for wildlife lovers and a wonderful education on Ontario wildlife. Also: great summer camp. Really top notch.
I've visited Wye Marsh a few times over the years and enjoyed the experience every time. The drive up there is scenic and beautiful and the facilities are well managed and well put together. Feeding the chickadees is delightful! The falconry display is also excellent! Great job :)
Leave the dogs at home... so the chickadees will eat from your hand if you stand still long enough for them to see you.
Great walks, loved it.
Great for kids
Visited this place with my family and friends .close to nature and their birds show was amazing.Kids got an opportunity to know the bigs birds, touch them and feed them .Would definitely recommend to someone who is into nature walk. Will visit again .
Whicked
A great place to spend the day in the woods. Lots of programs for families with interpretive panels throughout explaining everything along the way. Looking forward to getting a family membership this year.
A place to escape to. The smell of nature helps press reset. Appreciate he classes being offered.
Pure nature
First Light, was very nice with all the candles and lanterns.
Beautiful nature centre, family friendly. Sky and snowshoe trails for beginners and lots of bird watching!!!
We can not wait to go back! We had an amazing time learning a lot about how maple syrup gathered, made, and got to eat it! Went on beautiful hikes through all the trails and fed the birds. Got to make bannock and cook it ourselves. What a great family day!
Went on a field trip with my sons class. All the kids had a wonderful time - though a little windy and chilly. The views were beautiful and getting to feed the chickadees was a highlight of the trip. My son wanted to go back again with the whole family.
Nice spot with an interesting birds of prey exhibit (a lot of owls I haven't seem before amongst other stuff). It's a nice park situated in a marsh area. I was a bit insane and went on a day where it was raining heavily but imagine it would have been much nicer if the weather was sunny. Still the staff were very nice and despite the scrappy weather I still liked it
(Translated) Courteous staff and most interesting visit ... (Original) Personnel courtois et visite des plus intéressantes...
Wye Marsh wildlife centre is an excellent place for exploring nature. We just attended an excellent presentation on nature photography by Arni Stinnissen presented by the Midland-Penetanguishene Field Naturalists' Club. The Wye Marsh have extensive facilities, trails, staff and programs to help you explore and engage in nature. Cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, skating, canoeing, kayaking, hiking, boardwalk, interpretive centre, etc. all make it a destination for nature exploration.
Great trails, pleasant group canoe trips. Very pretty.
Beautiful place. Look forward to going back soon.
Had a great day, trails are wonderful and the staff are friendly and helpful.
Loved it
Loved it..
Loved it on school trips as a kid. Loved it even more as an adult!
I love this place ???? everything about it is magical. As well as the volunteers and employees.
Excellent place to take kids. See wildlife, marsh. Nice watch tower.
Family day fun! Lots of great activities for the kids. Crafts, Bannock roasting, visiting the swans and walking along the trails.
Cross country skiing is good, simple facilities, friendly staff
An interesting nature experience in Ontario. There are birds of prey enclosures, a board walk, several lookouts and paths for walking through the forest and marsh area. I saw turtles, frogs, swans, fish, birds, and insects in nature. I spent about 2h on a casual visit, but I’m sure you can spend more if you are into wildlife, photography or with kids. Note that the marsh area is warmer and more humid than a typical outdoor space.
Awesome little spot! The birds and chipmunks eat right out of your hand. Wander in the Bush and you'll find the swan pond filled with ducks, swans and land sharks!
Simply amazing!
Love feeding the birds here
Wonderful place.all year
Our family had a great time here, my children are 11, 10 and 3 months. We all had a fun nature wild life walk threw. Spent most of our day there and there is stroller wheelchair access.
Very knowledgeable, friendly staff and beautiful grounds.

Natural environment
Beautiful area to hike and connect with nature. 25km+ of hiking trails, interpretive centre, birds of prey area, lookout tower, and so much more to enjoy at this spot. One of the best in Simcoe County and Southern Ontario.
Wye Marsh is fantastic but I would love to return when physical distancing isn't a requirement and the weather was better. We managed to see several birds, frogs, and a turtle.
Nice boardwalk. Lots of wildlife.
Family fun
Beautiful to walk around. Thank goodness for helpful people and volunteers to steer you right when you are lost
Great place to get-away with the kids in the Summer!
(Translated) Breathtakingly beautiful, there are long and short trails, so something for everyone, even those looking for relaxation and relaxation will find them there. To switch off and dream perfect. Since wind and weather (in our case, worse weather) make nothing because there is no bad weather only wrong clothes (Original) Atemberaubend schön, es gibt lange und kurze Trails, also für jeden etwas dabei, selbst wer nur Erholung und Entspannung sucht findet diese dort. Zum abschalten und Träumen perfekt. Da machen Wind und Wetter (in unserem Fall schlechteres Wetter) gar nichts aus denn es gibt kein schlechtes Wetter nur falsche Kleidung
Love the bird shows and beautiful scenery
Amazing place to visit with kids, or even as adults. We went for a quick hike with our pups and 3 year old, and had to return the next day because it was just so beautiful and we didn't get enough of it the first day! Highly recommend doing the boardwalk with kids! Loved the lilly pads, swans, frogs, etc. All the staff were so helpful and welcoming!
Wonderful atmosphere. Nature at its finest.
Great way to spend a couple hours surrounded by nature
Always a great place to visit, any time of year! Hand feeding chickadees is the best form of therapy!
Wonderfully maintained trails with informative signage that is beneficial and interesting. abundant wildlife including frogs, turtles, trumpeter swans, small birds, birds of prey, and plants. Absolutely 100% recommend Wye Marsh to anyone and everyone.
Out kid loved walking around to see the animals. Predatory birds was really special, as were the reptiles at the welcome center.
Beautiful, well maintained, pet friendly.
We love coming here for short walks or a day out adventuring, lots to check out all seasons
One of our favourite go-to places since my young men were tiny. Easy trails, diverse and a hike as long as you want.
Great experience any time of year.
Just went on the canoe by moonlight tour and it was fantastic!!! I highly recommend this tour. Jennifer and the other volunteers were absolutely amazing and so knowledgeable. If I could recommend one small change it would be to see the swans before the canoe ride as it was quiet dark by the time we got back, so we we were only really abil to see their silhouettes. Still it was a great time and we can’t wait to go back in the winter for snowshoeing :)
Absolutely amazing love all the animals, great for the whole family. Chipmunks or chickadees may even eat from your hand! It's nuts!
Must see place in Midland.
It was a great place to take the family. We spent 3 hours there
Its a lovely place to visit, lots of well placed signage to help you understand what to look for
Great trails
Visited Wye Marsh because I saw that it was now open. Haven't been there since I was little. Friendly staff upon arrival, don't get a chance to wander the trails much. Was able to visit the birds of prey area which was pretty neat. Also was able to feed some friendly chickadees during my visit too. Will come back again to explore the trails.
Very educational atmosphere. Got to pet some rare birds of prey and witness trumpeter swan feeding. Loads of fun!
Always an amazing experience.
Very friendly and knowledgeable staff (Jennifer & Tom goldsmith)
Bird show is only thing that really makes it worth while to walk through a swamp I do like to support the cause that they are doing and the facility is nice but would probably not go back just cause I found it expensive to go for a walk overall worth doing one time.
Beautiful wetlands... You can spend all day at the marsh and still not see it all.... They have a bee house and a centre for birds of prey....also REMEMBER YOUR CAMERA.... Lots to see and a lot of it is VERY good for photos....
Can't wait to come back here in the spring!!!
This is a fun place to go with the family and get away from the electronics and general buzz of life. The favourite activity was chickadee feeding on the tower but roasting bannock and holding the owl were so fun as well!
We love going to the wye marsh we find something new evertime we go
I had a great experience. A nice little getaway to go with your partner. NOTE: Please don't bring your aggravating, naughty children that misbehave. The parents try to enlighten their children's enthusiasm by bringing them here. Little do they know that their kids aren't interested. In result, they become idle, running all over the place. IF you have children that are interested in Wildlife & beautiful scenery, then, this is the place. On a whole, it's a must see.
Great place
A wonderful Labor Day weekend at the Marsh. Thoroughly recommend it
Has a pathway/boardwalk that is wheelchair & stroller accessable. Things are a but different with their Covid protocols...no wildlife shows, etc. but it was worth the visit.
Nature should be free to everyone not a money grab. We will never go back.
Interesting
Very cool to hand feed chikadees. Nice long trails and scenery.
Always a great walk
Wonderful outdoor experience for trails, canoe into marsh, wildlife. Staff is exceptionally welcoming, accommodating and knowledgeable. Went above and beyond.
Great place to take your kids!
Great place for all seasons. Really engaged staff. Highly recommend the Birds of Prey demo.
Very beautiful place to go your loved ones and even by yourself! Lots of beautiful rescued birds to see and the chickadees are fearless when you have a handful of seeds! An interesting exhibit about amphibians and reptiles inside the main building as well as a quaint gift shop. Kind and courteous staff and a reasonable entry fee which goes towards the aid of other animals in need.
Nice to walk around. Would have been a 5 had there been any trumpet swans sighted. Was told that better time to see them would be in the winter. Still the views were great. It’s a very good place for photographers and birdwatchers. The staff was quite friendly and helpful. It’s one of three closely situated tourist attractions. If you’re up for a good hike, you could walk between the Martyr’s Shrine, Ste. Marie among the Hurons, and the Marsh.
Very nice place to enjoy the Nature. Paddling through the channels are the best.
We were given food for the chickadees and were told that they would find us. It was fun. The trails are lovely and well marked.
Amazing place....great for kids and children at heart to learn about the natural environment! Kids can dip net for frogs and fish, trails are beautiful all year round, summer camp, snowshoeing, bird watching and birdsof prey, and also a great home to many animals and reptiles.....Open almost all year round.. dogs are welcome too on leash! Membership has its benefits...so happy we joined!!
Lovely and beautiful
Beautiful scenery and nice trails.
A great place for a nature walk.
One of the very few National Wildlife areas that are accessible to the public. Definitely wear waterproof footwear at this time of year ((April). Engage!
Enjoyed walking threw the Bush and seeing all the animals.
Needs to be cleaned up a bit and some of the buildings need some TLC
(Translated) Superb place to observe animals and nature. It is well laid out and peaceful and relaxing in the morning when it opens. (Original) Endroit superbe pour observer les animaux et la nature. C'est bien aménagé et paisible et reposant le matin à l'ouverture.
Lovely place to visit.
Great place to go. Birds of prey, bees, boardwalk, trumpeter swans, plus all the trees and flowers. Beautiful, even in the rain.
Informative...exhibits and boardwalk were plentiful and awe inspiring
Excellent family experience.
Enjoyed the guided kayak tour through the marsh, with many sightings of wildlife of various kinds, including a trumpeter swan! The weather cooperated too, which helped.
Nature at its finest. Wonderful place.
(Translated) Good, peaceful, quiet in the fall. (Original) Bien, paisible, tranquille en automne.
Love it! Nice afternoon walk, and can enjoy a guided canoe tour. Lots to explore and see with the kids
What a wonderful experience. Great walking trails, boardwalk, and wildlife. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful.
I've been coming here for a couple of years now and I absolutely love it. In the spring/summer/fall, one can enjoy nature walks and the view of the marsh. In the winter, it is an excellent spot for snowshoeing and cross country skiing. Very peaceful and not busy. My absolute favourite thing to do is to feed the Chickadees. Adorable little birds ????
Don't waste your time during Covid nothing to see
This was our first visit to Wye Marsh. It was awesome. Nice trails, lots of snow, live birds of prey demo and fed small birds right out of our hands. Great signage marking the trails.
The Marsh is a wonder but the facilities are getting run down.
Great hiking trails!!!!!!!!!!!
Great place for the family to enjoy the natural features of Simcoe county. Has reptiles and birds of prey on display.
Lovely place to walk or snowshoe in the winter months. The center gives you a bag of seeds to feed the chickadees. If you hold up your open palm with the seeds in your palm, they will fly right to you to eat. Such a wonderful experience!
Well worth the drive to see the beauty of nature.
We went for the sugar shack festival and had an amazing time. Great entertainment, lots of educational opportunities.
Spent a peaceful morning taking photographs of the wildlife and hiking. The marsh is stunning. This is a must-see for nature lovers!
The birds of pray show is very cool
I loved feeding the birds out of my hand!
Love going for walks with the family. They have a birds of prey shelter here, very cool.
great fun
Lovely place
Great place. All the staff is friendly and knowledgeable
Came for the Sweetwater Harvest Festival. Great experience and beautiful facility.
I love the Wyemarsh. A beautiful place to go for a walk and enjoy seeing the trumpeter swans. Feeding the chickadees from our hands was a delight. A great place to get grounded. The boardwalk is my favorite trail.
Lovely trails. Peaceful surrounding. Beautiful birds of prey to view. Wood carvers club meet every Tuesday.
Love this place
Love the trails! Saw lots of squirrels, chipmunks, frogs, turtles and birds from the boardwalk.
Very fun time
This is an amazing place to see tons of wildlife
Great for kids. We enjoyed the canoe tour.
Came here as a child, still talk and have amazing memories of my experiences here. Cant wait to bring my children one day!
Beautiful walking trails and marsh lands
Great place to get outside with the kids. They love to feed the birds and go for a nature walk.
A great winter's day outing. We really enjoyed hand feeding the Chick-a-dees and seeing numerous swans and ducks. We hope to return when there is more snow to snowshoe and cross country ski. Not to mention in the summer as well. Highly recommended.
Wonderful, lots of walking but being in lockdown it was freedom to my grandson. Very clean great walks lots of information posted around the walks
The staff were amazing. In spite of virus panic and restrictions, they were professional, pleasant and informative, from the top down! The facilities were clean and well stocked. The activities were very good and well presented by knowlegable . I will definatly return later in the year when, hopefully more of the virus madness has passed.
Great place to visit and walk even on a rainy day
A very beautiful area with a pleasant walk a top the Marsh. The 45min to 1hr canoe ride was only $8 and absolutely terrific. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, striving to answer any question you have about the Wye Marsh.
