We have all the reviews of real people who are buying the services of The Castle Village And Enchanted Kingdom Park (Zoo) around Midland territory (Canada).
As of day the firm receives a rating of 3.3 stars out of 5 and the rating has been calculated on 127 reviews.
As you can see the average of ratings is discreet, neither too high nor too low, and it's based on a very large number of feddbacks, so we may say that the assessment is very faithful. If many people have bothered to rate when they've done well, it works.
You know that we do not usually stop to set opinions when these are good and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or issue...
This Zoo belongs to the category of Amusement park.
Wonderful and friendly staff who made it extra special for our kids.
Very cool and much more fun and interesting things to come in the future
Amazing place to visit! The surrounding area is nice for trekking as well.
I first visited this place as a child. I took my children when they were small and now have taken one of my grandchildren great place and friendly staff. As a photographer I have used the place for photo shoots
Very disappointing. The place is completely run down. It could be really nice for small kids - but it looks like the owners have not touched or maintained it for years. Archery does not work, lots of long time fallen trees on the trail, the castle is crumbling.... This could be so nice - but in its current state it is better to be avoided. A waste of money and driving time ..
The play ground was gross. Garbage everywhere. I kind of expected more. Though my daughter did have fun, you had to pay 5$ for dress up 5$ for face painting. It could be much better.
A hidden gem; Every child must see this place. Plan a summer weekend getaway and visit Elmvale Zoo as well.
Nice experience!
We came with six kids aged one to 13 and everybody had a great time. The older kids did the escape room while the younger kids played outside. We were there for several hours and could have stayed longer if not for hungry bellies. The staff was fabulous and the place was clean and well cared for.
Anything for children to enjoy and explore especially a real Castle experience I give it a 5 star. With lots of activities and programs for children and parents to engage.
Terrible. Drove two hrs with two little kids only to find the place is closed. It is on Sunday. And they didn't even bother to mention on the website. Shame of a business.
Better for family with kids. If you are just adults nothing much interesting here.
Week.. not wat I remember as a kid.. run down a little but heard a back story. The couple running it was fantastic and kind.. but I probably won't return.
We went with 15 family members for the excape rooms and they accomodated us fabulously, very friendly staff and a nice atmosphere!
Up and coming! Excited to see what the plan will be for this place
If 0 stars was an option this place would get it. Messy, disorganized, everything is under construction, and looks like they threw a bunch of items together because they were lazy. We had to wait over an hour because "the group before is taking longer than usual". No one was in the dungeon. The boy who was doing the tours was too busy socializing in the front. The dungeon walk was a joke, and things were broken. Rip off ????
A late review from my visit in 2017. It is an interesting place to bring kids however kid may not enjoy the whole experience and most likely just play on the playground. Unfortunately the place is runned down, and could be in better shape. The playground & play structure had webs everywhere. On a good note, Midland is a nice place!
Good place to spend for kids with lots of activities and campsites. Family place.
We drove for 4 hours to visit Castle Village because our daughter saw the photos online. We were not disappointed. The staff were friendly and helpful, and WONDERFUL with our daughter with special needs (sometimes people don't quite know how to speak to her or interact with her) The grounds were being renovated, but there was still lots to do--my husband even got in on the fun by dressing up in armour like a knight. I was shocked at how low the admission price was, and how much fun we all had. Well worth the drive.
Friendly staff but the place has seen its day. Run down, stuff falling apart and and it's turning into a wasteland. So much potential with a clean sweep and some paint.
FANTASTIC
This place is really trying. We did not do the escape room just played with the kids out back.
Looks pretty run-down. Was maybe nice 20 years ago, but not so much anymore. Not very interactive; just a regular playground.
I have never been ????......they close way too early!!!! It would be really great if you were open late at least once during the week!!!! ????
Disgusting. Stinks of rotting garbage everywhere. Last time we were here it was beautiful... Princesses entertaining the kids, lovely staff. NOW? it's turned into a trailer park. I think people live here.. it's disgusting and creepy. Drove an hour and a half for filth!
Not what we were expecting at all. I should have read all reviews and ignored the ones clearly written by friends or family of the owner. I hope that the new owners spend some money to make it the type of place it looks like it used to be. Luckily my kids were free otherwise I would have demanded my money back. children over 3 and adults all had to pay to enter. Not only were all the little village homes locked half of the structures were rotted and blocked off and the other ones were sketchy at best. Being marketed for small children we were shocked to run in to what looked like a Halloween set up in the forested area. Inappropriate for small children. Price is to high to justify playing in a glorified unsafe playground. I am thankful my children were to young to understand what we ran in to in the forested area.
Not much do - not a great value for the money. I preferred Sainte-Marie among the Hurons & Discovery Harbour much more!
Kids always have a grand time
My daughter has been asking to come here for the past year so we finally decided to go. I was very disappointed; cute idea but you can’t even go into the little houses, they are only viewing only (some of them creepy). Part of the playground which was a house with slides was blocked off for the kids since its broken and the other was a general swing set you can get from Walmart. The walking path was hard to follow...not kept up maintenance wise (garbage, rocks, trees fallen over path). The zipline... which you can purchase on Amazon or any toy store...was very low that my 6year old had trouble using it, and the ropes course was ratchet straps around a few trees. So many things we found disappointing but overall don’t waste your money! On the plus side the washroom inside the building was very clean.
This place is falling apart. There is broken garbage all over the woods outside. The zip line sags so low only a toddler could possibly go on it. There were members of the owners family camping on the grounds while we were walking around. Half of the exhibits were taped off and broken. Waste of time and money!!
My daughter and two granddaughters and I went to Castle Village, we had a lot of fun playing games, walking a suspended bridge, looking in cottages, going down different slides and we will go back.
Kids love the enchanted kingdom playground. We had free tour of the dungeon. Love the decorations of each houses, it's like a story book. Kids had some lessons for archery and it's only $5 for 15 arrows. A place that brings back childhood memories for us adults. Staff are great. So much fun to be here!
Had a very interesting camping experience, fun time with the escape rooms
Place is NOT maintained. Not worth the money. We were gone within an hour. The trail is not educational as the webside says. It looks more like a dump. The fairy houses look nice from the outside but on the inside the bairs are on the floor instead of the chairs. Plus no running water in the washrooms.
Good entertainment for kids.
Great place to get out for some fun on a rainy day.
The place has been around for many years but it never shined. Everything seems unfinished. The last 3 years have seen damage on existing structures with limited attempt to restore them. The current owner does not seem to take it seriously. There plenty of garbage littered everywhere, everything stays in a never ending construction with no visible change or improvement.I have seen rusty metal frames hanging posing a risk to children playing and the only thing the management did was to post a ridiculous note saying they are not responsible if someone gets hurt. Seriously? Is that even legal to say? Admission ticket $10 / person.
Very cute for younger kids.
It was closed
This place is CLOSED.There's a sign FOR SALE on the gate.. But if you google this place it says open on the weekend. Too bad I am excited to come here but found out it's closed. They should change the sign to closed permanently.
Cool
The Armoury tour was good, great collection of items was worth visiting just for that. Didn't try the park but seems like something great for the kids. Place had an end of an era feel to it and was probably awesome in it's prime. Current owners in the process of selling due to illness. Wish them all the best and look forward to what the new owners do with it.
Lots of parking and great activities for the kids, this place likes to take you into a world of adventure for the whole family, lots to do as well as explore, not just somewhere you go for thirty minutes and your gone, you want to spend a while and make sure you do everything! I recommend and hope you have fun!
(Translated) The children were amazed! Very nice outing! (Original) Les enfants étaient émerveillés! Très belle sortie!
Amazing
First of all this place has great potential. It has been bought and now under construction. I brought my family there and basically paid 80 dollars to bring my grandkids to a decapitated playground. My local school yard has better play grounds and it free to go there. Please close this place down until you can actually have guests . It is also becoming a safety hazard. Fix it up before you bring people in.
Place seems to be falling apart. Much better prior to new owners.
The little cottages are well displayed with interiors each depicting a different fairytale in detail.
We were there July this summer, we were skeptical whether to go or not as the admission was a bit high for the size of the place to tour around, but when we there my we went inside and inquired and my son got excited with the dungeon tour, we gave it a try. It was really fun, it was worth it. The only thing that we did not like is the staff that toured us for free in the dungeon talks like she's in a rush and wants to finish it quick! We got to dress up like Kings and Queens and the owners are truly engaged with their costumers, he infact let my husband dress up like a knight. That was fun!! We did not know that there is an outside fun, so went out and greeted by snow white. My son who's 9 loves the little houses that has characters of the classic stories, like Cinderella and the 3 bears, there's noah's arch and a lot more. The area is still under construction still and unorganized, it's a self serve tour in the place, no flyers on what to do first, if the houses has stories in sequence or what if its your first time. Over all im impressed with this place and sure it will be nicer once the place is done.
New owners have taken down trees and made the trail umfalloeable
Thats not what I expected .It was falling apart. Not alot of things to do. Not worth the money we paid . Not wroth the drive .
Nice place for little Kids specially princesses
Totally useless
I was contacted, along with many other local businesses, about their opening weekend that just passed. They brought us in, told us how we were 'sent from god' to help them make their dreams come true. Then they spent the next month messing around and wasting our time. In the end they tried to convince us to volunteer our services like they all were. But they aren't volunteering, their business is a for-profit establishment. Just mismanaged. Any business contacted BE WARY. They do not keep their promises. They have great ideas but the place is completely mismanaged. BEWARE!
It's a very interesting place
Completely impressed with thier new look and feel. It gives a vibe throughout that the imagination is leading the way. Wonderful service and engaging atmosphere. Delightful owners and I can only imagine how they'll incorporate more amazing activities for thier already magical place. A must see for all ages.
New owners are very nice. Area is still under renovation. Everything is well on its way to being revitalised and beautiful once more.
Place is run down. The grounds had junk laying around all over. Felt generally unsafe for children. Could be cool if there was some pride of ownership. You can see whom ever built it had some great vision.
Kids had a great time there. Kids loved the haunted dungeon. Play area outside had lots for the kids to play on.
We came here to do the escape room. It was very well managed and organized. We had lots of fun.
Beautiful
This place is a complete waste of time do not waste your time and money park grounds were dirty and run down the high light of going here is when the kids asked to go home as they were bored I found this plack on the wall and nothing has still happened here !!!!!!!! I spent 80$ to walk through to my opinion is a garbage dump
Great for kids
Too bad this place has been closed for some time due to the pandemic! This children’s amusement castle park is owned by someone we know. Hoping that this business will survive this very difficult time.
Extremely friendly staff ! Great place to experience an escape room. The new owners of this place are doing a great job renovating and its a great place for kids ! Highly recommend if you are in the area.
Closed. Only take photos from outside
Not even worth $5 entrance fee. Giving 1 star only because the receptionist was super friendly, she made the visit bearable.
Just visited here, and wasn’t impressed. Should be shut down, dangerous, unkept, and outdated. Many of the areas are blocked off and you can’t access, false advertising. They say there is archery there isn’t. They also say there is a escape room and it was out of access. And finally within the building it stunk and I felt completely disgusting after wards. I can’t believe they charge admission to get in here, it used to be a cute place when it was story book village but ever since it has gone down hill. Save your money and don’t go here.
My sister-in-law had made a booking to do one of the escape rooms, and even called to confirm a few days before. We drove an hour to get there only to find the place closed for maintenance. No one had attempted to contact us to inform us or re-book us.
Lovely dressed playground for kids. Very friendly staff.
Backyard wasn't open when we went which is a big part of the appeal, but the kids had fun regardless :)
An amazing place. My 3 year old loved the sword fight. He was scared to go to dungeons we never went in there. This place is still his fav and asks to go there almost every weekend.
Wonderful experience with the family
Had a great time in Dracula's Dungeon. Will be back to check out the other rooms and the forest, for sure. The owners are extremely friendly.
Very atmospheric room escape, with good puzzles.
Some growing pains
5$ entry, basicallt large castle themed playground, great for young families
Real nice people... Escape rooms ????
Great service , really went above and beyond to make sure we had a great time !
Drove all the way out to the castle village only to see that they've shortened their hours and not updated their website or google page.. Very disappointing as my family was excited to go.
this place is so unique, there's nothing else like it. yes its run down but the kids don't even notice. its a great inexpensive thing to do while visiting the area.
This was my first escape room, it was great for my wife and I. The staff were very friendly and helpful, they are in the midst of improvements for the fairy tale village for the younger ones and it looks promising.
Still undergoing some renovations
Drove for over an hour from the GTA to surprise my 4 year old daughter, but aside from the curb appeal of the place, it was a disappointing experience. The place was not clean, severely understaffed and had very limited access to the multiple cabins on the grounds. The sad part is, the place has potential for greatness, but the small amount of activities and the unmistakable smell of garbage ruined it all. Still a cool place for young kids to quickly visit if you're in the area, but certainly not worth the three hour round trip.
Not much to see.
It’s not open. Don’t come here. The property is on sale.
It was horrible, dont bother going...I went here years ago and it was great, but under new management and there is no upkeep of the place...My 18 month old granddaughter was so scared of the displays she started crying .. The 7 dwarfs looked like 7 demented gremlins..Goldlocks was cute, but the wolf looked like its face was rearranged by a pack of mice....Last time I go there...
Cute little place. It felt like a modge-podge of things. My son and I went for a walk in the forest and I would have loved some advanced warning that there were some very creepy wax figures there.
Our 1st experience with an escape room so don't have anything g to compare to other than what has been seen on TV shows. Concept was great, authentic looking dungeon like escape rooms were awesome too! The owners talked with us for a but and said they had recently purchased it from the original owner. With a little TLC this place will be awesome. Escape room was very easy, and had some unfortunate malfunctions- one of the locks combinations had been reset by previous participants so the correct code wouldn't work causing the staff to have to come and fix. The speaker system was very poor. We couldn't hear the clues without having to be right beside or underneath the speaker. Like I said, new owners so with some time and creativity I'm sure this place will kick ass!
While vacationing from Montreal, (last week) in Tiny we were driving to Midland and we spotted this enormous castle. Having two girls, (one aged 4 and the other 2 and a half) they are interested in everything Princess so of course we took them. Both girls had an absolute blast and enjoyed themselves both inside and outside. They were going on about it all day and even wanted to return the next day. I was shocked at how low the price was, honestly I could have paid double and still been happy. The staff were great and the entire experience was enjoyable. I do have one recommendation; both my kids hurt themselves on the slides. My youngest busted her lip open and the eldest cut her elbow. Quite simply the drop from the end of the slide to the ground is too high and an unsuspecting child will hurt themselves. It did not take anything away from the experience, both my girls are tough as nails, they brushed themselves off and continued to run around but someone might not be as lucky. Overall I would return in a heart beat.
Love this place hope it stays open forever????????????
Kids had a great time! Lots to see and do. Looking forward to all the new changes coming, like archery tag!
Cant wait to come back in 10 years when its abandoned..be safer and a lot more interesting. New management has let the place go and i wouldnt let my children play on the equipment. The metal dinosaurs were the most interesting part. I suggest not going.
First time going to Castle Village. It's of cool swords and armor in the lower level to look at and out back they have an archery range with foam tipped arrows. The only negative is that they now charge for admission ! $10 per person
Was run down garbage everywhere and lots of broken trees and sticks everywhere in trails dangerous a bit to kids for waking anywhere around the park and there was no games to play it needs a lot of TLC and upkeep and it could be better and worth what they charge. They charge 10$ per adults and 5$ per kid but I felt like 20$ was not even worth going there should be free. This place maybe once upon a time was fun and worth it but not anymore. I don’t recommend spending the money.
No matter what time of year I always enjoy my visits to Castle Village Midland.
My sister in law and I just did the Draculas dungeon escape room and it was really cool! We found it hard to find clues as it was pretty dark and there were only two of us but it was a really neat experience and kind of scary at times haha!
Although the outside looks captivating and inviting. Im told When walking in there was someone on a pulled out couch sleeping and told that that is their home.? Not quite what to expect. Not much for snacks or drinks at the moment. There are however escape rooms for 25.00 each per person where once the dungeon was. There are a few novelty items to purchase. The outside back is still undeveloped but plenty to still see and enjoy the walk trough the forest. A few outdoor activities to do.
This place used to be great I remember going there as a kid and thinking it was amazing the fountains and water wheel was in working order. Now it feels like an abandoned park that is still charging admission which is truly a shame. I really wanted to show my kids a great place that I went to as a kid but that wasnt the case. The worst part was the fact that there was no working washrooms and disgusting messes everywhere so my children couldn't use the washroom so we left. The zip line is just wire hung from 2 trees and the little houses are just locked up and falling apart. This place needs alot of love and alot of work and it could be spectacular. Waste of money right now though.
Had a pretty good time. An all ages place to sorta hang for the day. Archery and the escape room was fun. There are play structures for the little ones in the theme of a village. It needs some work but the owners seemed to be working at it and were really nice and helpful.
Great place , friendly staff, kids enjoyed a lot!
Great escape room. Super staff.
The escape room was fun
Very disappointed. It was so run down. Nothing really to do for the kids. And what we all had to pay for that. Wasted money. Sorry but it was just horrible. A tour it says of the castle, that was a joke. I never give such bad review, but it was that bad. Clean it up, renovations much needed to. Kids were so bored.
We went for a visit today and were very disappointed. The playground was run down, dirty and half of it was closed. There were people camping all around the houses making it a little scary to let my child run around. We only stayed for 20 mins as we couldn't stand being in there for more then that. I would not recommend this place at all. Go to Discovery Harbour, Sainte Marie among the Hurons or the Wye Marsh way better and the children a learn something and have a wonderful time.
We visited today- Aug 18th, 2019 with our 1 year old and will not be returning. This place should honestly not be open to the public. I would be ashamed of the condition that it is in. - not maintained- bushes upgrown - building in need of love - looks like it had been abandoned and reopened. This place has a lot of work that needs to be done, with a lot of TLC this place could have a lot of potential. Hopefully it has a turn around.
Even tho out of date my kids had a fantsstic time touring around. We stayed for about an hour but with 2 toddler's (3&2) that's about all you get for attention spans any way!! They loved the slides and going from house to house. Even filling up the ponds with water would really help! Hopfully this place can tidy up it has alot of potential!
Was one of the worst escape rooms i've ever done. Which is sad because the location has so much potential. On top of that our game master left after 15 minutes. At least they refunded us our money after we had to push for it and they were able to find someond who was able to.
Ok place for kids.
We had hopes that the reviews were wrong, but this place is run down. When we arrived the doors were locked and a phone number posted to call but no answer. Waited around to find out that there was only one person working and he was teaching archery. Small playground was okay, neat little houses but can't go in any of them. Short zip line like the ones you can buy at Walmart, the hike through the woods was full of creepy mannequins from the old haunted dungeon that used to be in the basement, so be warned if you are taking little ones for the walk. No water in the area under the bridge, in the wishing well or in the area around the castle. Most of the crowns in the dress up area are broken. We did not do the escape rooms so I can't speak for them. In my opinion, save your time and money and head to the other historical tourist spots in town.
When we arrived on a weekday the castle was empty. The main entrance doors were locked. Signage did say the castle was open. It also seemed that the castle was undergoing maintenance. Rated 3 stars for looks.
I love castle village for its unique ambiance coz when you pass by you can't afford not to hop in!!!you dont want to miss the fun it offers!
The place as a whole is wonderous & exciting for Very small children. We took our kids here 2 years ago when my son was almost 4 & my daughter was almost 2, & we had a pretty good time. Looking @ all of the midevil items inside the castle & then going outside to look in all the little themed houses. My son remembered that & wanted to go back again, so we took them. This time however there was almost no-one there, it was missing the hustle & bustle of other families & children. There did not seem to be as much to there either. There were no activities going on, like young adults teaching the children archery etc......The place is getting a little run down & needs some repairs, which is normal, seeing as how everything is made of wood & it does go rotten over time. That is not a big issue for me, "the Dad", but it would be nice if they would put some time into the place & make the necessary repairs. We made our own fun & the kids went on the tiny Zip-line @ least 30 times each. I tried to peak their interests with "Oh I wonder what is in this little house?" & "Wow, this little house has 3 rooms. Not just 1." We won't be returning again because as I said @ the beginning, it is really just for the very small children. We do have some nice pictures of the kids @ this 1 of a kind place, & a few good memories to hold on to for as long as the kids can remember. So that makes it worth it to me. The cost did go up from a few years ago though. It was $10 per adult & $5 per child. So plus tax it came to $33.90, but if the kids liked it, which they did, then I am happy with that.
Awesome place! Children loves it.
Nice place to bring little kids
if I could give it 0 stars I would. This place is run down. There is garbage everywhere, abandoned cars, old fridges and freezers. I can't believe that they are collecting money for this. Shocking. Do not go here.
We had a hockey team of 12 year olds complete the escape rooms. They all loved the rooms and challenge. The mom and son game masters with them were excellent.
Expensive
Great place for young children. My kids just loved it here :)
Was nothing like the pics you see on line. Very run down and had a musty smell. The grounds were messy and not in good shape and very unorganized. Extremely disappointed. The story book buildings were all locked and the windows were tiny and dirty so you really could not see anything. Would have been a lot better if they had people dressed up as some of the characters.
Kids enjoyed it. Nothing crazy there but decent entertainment for a few hours. Should offer some food and drinks there.
This place probably used to be fun for families years ago but has not been kept up. Took our 2 kids, ages 7 and 10 and were in and out in under an hour. Not a lot to see or do for kids or adults. Kids weren't allowed to climb on playground, creepy fairytale setups outside and junk everywhere. Not worth the admission. Don't waste your time and money!
Sadly this place has fallen into disrepair. Young children probably won't notice but it quite noticeable to adults.
Escape room was great!
We had lots of fun. The place is under construction. We are looking forward to when the renovations are completed. We will be back.
Awesome
Love the little shop here! It's a must stop anytime I am in Midland and a beautiful building.
Only reason it's receiving 2 stars is because of the staff. Super awesome people and really friendly. The rest of the place needs a lot of work.
We were there July this summer, we were skeptical whether to go or not as the admission was a bit high for the size of the place to tour around, but when we there my we went inside and inquired and my son got excited with the dungeon tour, we gave it a try. Over all im impressed with this place and sure it will be nicer once the place is done.
great place..
Do not go, period, very run down with heaps of garbage smelling up the place
Not worth the money. We waited in the front room to pay for about 15 minutes.. the door that exits to the outside said staff only. We finally walked around the side to the back and we were then asked if we had paid.. we replied that there was no one at the front desk. We were led to the front desk to pay and paid over $20 for 2 adults and a 2 year old. There’s really nothing to do there, and there’s a lot of dangerous tools and random things laying around that really could injure a child. All the small houses are locked and we spent maybe 15 minutes there. I almost demanded my money back because of how terribly run down it is there.
Skip it. Not worth the money or time. The outside area was under "renovations" due to flooding? Nothing to do. As soon as you enter, you feel like you are in one of those Texas Chainsaw Massacre movies, like someone is going to knock you out at any given second. Just... no. Not worth it. Sorry to say.
Closed down, falling apart.
Could be better. I had a feeling of going back in times (in the good way). Kids (under 5) loved it, especially outside. Place need renovations & more love. I gave it 4 stars but it's more a 3.5
The place has so much potential but it seems run down. There are piles of garbage and old refuse just laying around surrounding the grounds. At one point in time this was place so well maintained but now I cannot say the same. It's so sad
The place is terribly run down. Looks like the new owners used all their money on making the dungeon escape room, which was the only good thing about this place. The main Castle is a joke, there is junk everywhere, random toys that don't work, not much to do in there. The basement is a small area with some swords and old armour, that's it. You can't access the old dungeon room on your main tour, it's now separate for the escape room. Going outside it gets worse. Half of the village houses are falling apart, mostly junk stored inside them. The cool things are the houses you can look in the windows and see scenes inside, like Goldilocks, snow white, etc. The mill no longer is running, the water is shut off. There is a cool bridge to go across but again, no water underneath, just garbage and the fountain is shut off as well. The food stand outside is shut down as well, looks like they used to sell snow cones, popcorn, hot dogs but now it's shut down, you won't find any food or drink here. The Zipline is a joke, it's one falling apart line that runs into the ground. The owners family are the only ones in the park this day and they all picnic in the middle of the village which feels wierd when they all look at you like your invading their space. Their kids were hogging the Zipline and parents didn't care to tell them to share with actual paying guests. Walking some trails out back was confusing, they led to nowhere but surrounding junk and rundown structures and some random Exorcist mannequin scene that scared the kids. That's about it, kids were excited for a day in a castle and ended up spending about 45 minutes total there before being bored. Could have been nice, but it's really not
We went there with two kids, the castle itself isn't very interesting, some kind of shop with few items that aren't linked to the place. There is a play area where kids can play Fussball but the table was not level... Then air hockey but the table wasn't powered... Finally they could dress up for a picture with old Halloween princesses disguises in fairly bad shape and nothing for boys. In the basement some sort of museum with replica of swords and firearms, the owner was very enthusiastic about his collection and showed it to the kids. In the back, there is a path with houses set up like old classic tales, you can only try to watch from the foggy/dirty windows, to find discoloured items and somewhat creepy dolls, there is a park with a few slides, a bridge made out of ABS piping, a "slack line" that can only be used by toddlers and is fun once. The walking path in the woods isn't worth a visit, nothing to see except old furniture that moss is slowly taking over. So I wasn't impressed, why 3 stars do you ask? Well the kids actually enjoyed it quite a bit and I guess that works. With a bit more effort this place could shine again.
Overpriced
The place is good but not worth the almost 2 hour drive from Peel. The beach nearby makes it a good side trip
I would like to share our very very bad experiences in this place ,I wanted to visit this place for a long time and what a disappointment, the place is filthy and not ready for the visitors I would afraid to let my kids play over here, because garbage was everywhere, all castles needs renovations all place look so sad and totally NOT READY for the kids to play. After I saw the place I vent to complain to the staff and they new that the place is in terrible condition but still was letting people in and charging admission fee. After our complain I at least got my admission money back never gonna back again... very very disappointed ????????????
Amazing place to visit.
Fun for the kids
We wasted our money for this place. The things inside the castle are really nice, such as the small museum, escape rooms are ok, but the grounds outside are terrible. They really need to improve the conditions outside. Better as a campground.I paid 175 dollars for some package which I didn't understand, Oh God
Escape room: was very poorly done. It had such potential but was a let down. Clues were written on sticky notes. Clues didn't make sense. When we needed a hint, the baby monitor they used wasn't working, so one of us had to leave the room to go back upstairs and ask for help. They gave us an answer not a hint. And when asked how they got to that answer the guy said he didn't know. Two of the locks were not even reset. One of the rooms had no light and no heat, we had to use our phones for flashlights. Candles were provided but the batteries in them were dead. When we told management about the issues we were having they were like "oh, sorry about that, here is a $5 off coupon, see you next time." Not worth the $100 we paid, we will not return, and we will not recommend.
We had a fun and great experience at the Castle Village over the Canada Day long weekend. It was the first time that they opened their camp grounds to the public. They are very accommodating to our needs and concerns. I find that the staff is very nice and friendly and I am very impressed with their customer service. Their air bnb, which is located right next door to the castle, is also a wonderful place to spend the night in especially for those who prefer to stay indoors. The rooms are very clean, nice and comfortable. It has all the amenities to make our stay unforgettable. Thank you very much for the wonderful weekend stay. We highly recommend this beautiful and fun place which both adults and children will surely enjoy. Matthews and Cheryl Larrazabal
Over priced for what it is. But cute for the kids
We won the game by accident because they left a key out.
Used for Birthday parties & special occasion parties. New owners, the gift shop is no longer there. $10 to enter & look around inside the castle. Am excellent place for families with the age group of 6-12 years olds.
Nice place to visit again
Could be much better. It is worth a visit. If you have nothing else to do its a nice place to go to, seems like it was once much better has not been looked after. Still if you are in the area it should be a fun place for toddlers and kids under 10. If going there keep a bug spray handy lots of mosquitos.
Very nice people great place
Friendly people
Futile and sheer wastage of being here
A nice little tourist stop if you're cottaging in the Midland area. It was probably pretty happening in its prime but is trying to make a comeback. It's a cute little play structure for kids. There is archery and camping available. They also run an Escape Room. Cost is $10 for adults, $5 for kids age 4 and up and preschoolers under 4 are FREE!
Staff is very friendly. Nice atmosphere. Interesting playground for kids.
We had an awesome experience! The staff is very accommodating!
Wow! I can't believe what a super time we experienced there today! The actors got the big kids up and running all morning! We are going again next weekend!
(Translated) It is an amusement park that is desuet (Original) C'est un parc d'attraction qui est desuet
One of the few memorable places in the area , a must see, but not some people in the 1980's.
Hook andladder
Website was so poorly laid out the fact that their is a fee to walk around wasn't clearly listed under fees and admissions. When husband I arrived & were informed of fee just to use walking trail I informed the employee of what it said on their walking trail information page (is that there was no listing of fee) she didn't seem aware of her own place of works website Also the beautiful Martyrs Shrine only charges $5 per person for entry and it is a historic site that is much larger then this park/trail yet this place was charging more. Not impressed at all
Nice for yong family's easily 1/2 a day their more if you picnicking, limited parking
