This is a great trail.There is a picturesque lighthouse at the trail head. It has very scenic views of the Atlantic ocean. The first loop is 3 km. There are benches at multiple lookoffs along the trail. For the most part the trail is either wood boardwalk or crusher dust. There are lots of uphill and downhill sections. Highly recommend this trail.

This is an absolutely amazing place. So rugged and the waves crashing on the rocks is quite impressive. The trail follows the coastline closely and the view is dynamic. It is well groomed and has little benches placed along the way. Definitely worth visiting!

Be prepared for some wind! This spot is breathtaking; I never tire of it. Especially lovely to watch the evening sun dip west of the lighthouse, on the Fortress side of the harbour (but make sure you get off the trail before dark). The main trail is wheelchair accessible, though it can continue on quite far as more of a game trail to Gooseberry Cove if you cross the pebbly beach at the end.

Cant say enough. A must see when in the area. The waves crashing amazing. Well maintained paths and grounds but left very natural and undisturbed where it mattered. We love coming here every trip.

Louisbourg Lighthouse trail is a rugid natural hiking experiance with incredible ocean scenery. It provides hours of enjoyable hiking along the coast. I highly recommend it as a tourist destination.

A beautiful scenic walk along the shoreline with fantastic ocean views and of course a rustic amazing lighthouse. There is a leisure 1.5 km hike and a more challenging trek beyond that for more experienced hikers!

This is most likely one of the greatest trails ever. There is so much nature to walk around in and the path is very well mantained this place is a great place to ride your bike or to take a nice long walk in the wilderness. By far one of the best things to do here.

A beautiful trail along the Atlantic leading back to Louisbourg from the Fortress. Get a different view of the Fortress and take a sear in one of the Parks Canada red chairs and listen to the ocean crash up on the shore.

Nice lighthouse on a national park setting. Trails and views abound. During our trip it was not crowded and a peaceful spot to reflect and enjoy nature.

Take a dirt road down to a light house near the ocean. Be careful as there are cliffs with jagged rocks down below. There are walking trails there and you can see the Fortress on the other side of the bay.

This is a must do trail for anyone who loves in the area or looking to visit! One of our absolute favourites. Be sure to pack water a sweater and sunscreen. The fog rolls in quickly here but the weather can change in a dime. Along the outer perimeters of the trail there isn’t much coverage; and so, be such to take caution and apply sunscreen because you’ll likely get a sun burn. Also the trail goes much further than the rocky beach where most folks stop, but be careful if it rains it often does not dry up as quickly along the enclosed wooded trails so it can become swampy, muddy, messy etc. — but always fun!

Great hiking trail with beautiful views. If you're checking out the lighthouse or in Louisbourg for the fortress, I definitely recommend taking some time to enjoy the scenery. After checking out Louisbourg fortress my boyfriend and I stopped in hopes for some nice pictures. I didn't know the trail was here but it was a welcome bonus. We had such a wonderful time.

Great coastal waking trail. The first section of the trail is great for everyone. If you continue past the first beach it gets a bit more rough but views are amazing.
