If you are in for quiet Sunday walks to social distance, this is not the place to be. Normally a great place. Not at these times. Turned around and went home, way to many people.

Magda P

Not a bad park but very confusing to get around, the provided paper trail guide is not at all helpful, we relied on a picture of the trails at the entrance and Google maps to get back. Bonus points for washroom facilities, and interesting history, great if you like bird watching, and doesn't seem busy so nice place to let dogs stretch their legs. It is however open to hunting from Sept to Feb so going during those times is not advisable.

Lots of area to walk. Great place for your four legged pet. Watch for ticks on your pet.

Bonnie Thomas

A great place if you need some quiet time to think, or explore the many trails they have here. Some info boards are along the way to give some insight of the history here as well. Great all season long!

Richard Hammond

Good length trail. Path is clear and wide and the scenery is beautiful

Have been going here for a few years now. Great place to take the dogs off leash. Lots of open spaces so you can watch them and a decent amount of wooded areas as well. Haven't ran into any troubles with other dogs or my own. Generally people are respectful when they need to be. Hardly see anyone sometimes. Many different entrances during non-hunting periods and restricted areas are well marked.

Very nice place for peaceful nature walks and biking. Flat terrain lots of wildlife and fauna. Dog friendly. Would give 5 stars but hunting is allowed in the fall and winter and you can only hike on certain days

Ken Hopkins D/K Simple Life

Lots of trails and bugs

Beautiful and close to London

This Conservation area is amazing. The area was an old RCAF military base, in 1965 the area was acquired by Ministry of Natural Resources and is now a wildlife habitat. There is little remains of what it was all over the place great for exploring. There a ton of trails parking in two spots excess from two roads. Pet friendly. Baby stroller friendly. There was a washroom at front gate but I think it's closed due to covid. There are picnic tables all over seat benches. Very well maintained trails.

Amazing place, people need to remember that there is hunting in certain areas on certain days. Abide by the rules.

Great place for walks, and see the ruins of the old training grounds

David Smit

Tyler Martin

A hidden gem. Lightly managed forest and green space on the naturalized location of a WW2 RCAF training base. You can explore all day and see half of it. There is far less vestige of the air base than there was even 15 years ago.

Kathryn Stachowich

Great wildlife area that is good for dog owners. The trails are simple and it can be very lucky and do not drain well. It is also a bug haven so make sure you spray for mosquitos. There are no rest rooms as well so be prepared because it is out in the country side. Also bring water

Foxspot ___________

Unfortunately everytime I go there it ends up raining but with lots of trails and my bike I never get board. Only the first little bit is paved with the rest of the trails being either gravel, grass, or dirt.

James c (KnOtAr)

One if the few public places dogs can be off leash. Trails are well maintained. My zen place

Josh Bratscher

Considering the fact we went late at night to view a comet and came across so many friendly fellow star gazers I cannot exclaim enough how welcoming the experience was. Once we do some hikes and other late night trips I'll rereview this..

Trevor

Entirely too much dog poo all over the place - Otherwise a good place.

Jo Ann

Well maintained and signed. A nice place to enjoy nature, learn about history, walk the dog and get some exercise. Added bonus is that the main trail.dries out fast if it's rainy.

Awesome spot to walk the dog and to take the kids. Really enjoyed some of the old things laying around and looking at the pictures. My son had a great time just running the place as did the new pup. Shame it rained. Other than that it was a great little spot and is only 15-20 min from st thomas. Perfect cheers

J

My kid loves it, what more do you want from me?? Garsh

Brett McKenzie

My dog loved it now than I did, but I had a good time exploring.

Shane Martin

Perfect for hound dogs. Well maintained. Many paths to choose from. Absolutely beautiful in the fall. Both my German Short haired Pointers love it here. All the wildlife and terrain stimulates their brains.

Scott Barrie

It is an old WWII training ground for bombers, an odd layout of lawncut pathways with intermittent asphalt pieces belieing once trod-on roads and runways. Almost spooky. You can be very alone here. Soothes the archaeological soul, if you have one, this is 5 star.

Chris Kilbourne

Jake Radske

Beautiful park! And lots to see! But do be CAREFUL, I would not bring kids here what so ever. I understand its also a dog park and people are aloud to let their dogs off their leash. But my girlfriend and I were walking down a trail and a dog that looked nice walked up to us, neither of us tried to touch the dog, but it went straight for her and bit her hand and back of her thigh. Luckily it didn't break the skin, just left her shaken. Other then that really nice, just be cautious.

Heidi Klein

Many things to many people. Nature preserved with history remembered.

Lucy Zhang

Good place to birding

Mike P

Wide and kept paths for the most part. Woods paths not maintained but still a good walk.

Befus

Gorgeous wildlife area but be aware that during hunting season certain days hunting is happening so you have to stay out of those zones

A little World War 2 flying, gunning and bombing history combined with an extensive and free trail network. Some of the history boards are weathered and overdue for replacement. Trails are easy walks, picnic tables are scattered close to the entrance. Washroom is sub-standard.

Good place to walk your dog, but there are some problems about cleaning but still 5 stars

Kyla Dillard

This was an air force training facility from 1940-1945. It has been reclaimed by wilderness and farming since the 60's. 700 acres, dogs can legally be off leash, 21 km of trails. Part of the area is restricted during hunting season. There are some historical markers and 2 outhouses. For a place to really let your dogs run and explore, this is great. Heavily mosquito infested, be warned.

Harry Cartner

Great place for night photography.

Phil Gibson

Mike McReavy

A step back in time with its history and a leap forward into well managed solitude amongst the flora and fauna.

Jamie Manning

Fascinating old WW2 RCAF bomber training airfield.

veesha maharaj

nice open space for walking and dog adventures but too many people don't poop and scoop

Noel Wright

Beautiful flat trails. Great for biking or birdwatching. The map is very confusing, however, you can't really get lost

David

Fantastic, level trails, readily accessible with a motorised scooter (or a strong pair of legs behind your wheels) we were a bit dissappointed that all of the military buildings are now removed, the brochure seems to indicate there might be something to see, but you'll need a strong imagination for that! Great trails tho, definitely worth a visit.

Micky Mick

Long walking but only corn fields to see

cache4adventures J.L

It is such a Beautiful Peaceful Place, will be going back.

Sandy Vazquez

Great place to walk your dog. Kilometers of trails, many of them under a canopy of trees. Good spots for picnics. Hardly ever see anyone else.

Yiqian Li

Good place to see stars and milkyway at night

Heidi Hering

It's a masssssive place to explore but be aware, the mosquitoes can be really bad if you don't protect yourself Great open space to let large dogs run !

Brian Neufeld

Amazing place to walk or ride bicycles. Lots of wildlife and great trails.

0mixbag0

Visited for the 1st time today with our two Labs.. Property is very well maintained, trails are flat and wide open, and are very well marked with history information along the roads.. We came across 3-4 other dog owners during our hike... This is a very Dog Friendly environment... Pack a Lunch and bring plenty of water!! Planning our next visit soon!

Andy Crawford

Nice place for a hike. Maps need a little work to coordinate with confusing signage.

Josie Elliott

Beautiful walk, great for bird watching, biking and hiking. Beautiful mature trees, interesting sites and lots of information posted about the site on plaques threw out the trails so you can learn as you go.

Amanda Wilson

It's a massive area, where a person can easily get lost, as it seems the trails you can take are unlimited. It's best to bring a compass so you can get your bearings, or a cell phone with a gps locator. Great place to get some fresh air and exercise.

A great place for a family walk or reflective saunter. Get lost in the historic property which housed an RCAF training base during WW2. Pet friendly, kid friendly, and full of wildlife. There are public out-houses near the entrance about 200m south of the parking lot.

Beautifully maintained park. Great for bringing your dog and kids! Also very stroller friendly. I heard there is also a dark sky observatory here so will need to explore this more!

Lots of walking area, but not much to see.

Karin Lorento

A favourite place to take my doggos for a good hike and off-leash run! YES, IT IS PERMITTED OFF LEASH FOR DOGS. How many random fire hydrants can you find?? Be wary: there is hunting seasons here (October-February I believe) so go with caution during these times. The hunting areas are WELL MARKED, so you can easily avoid if you happen to be out there, but still something to take note of for first time visitors.

Lots of good habitat for upland birds. Great walking trails, lots of dogs and people were also nice.

A perfect walk for the history buff and the nature enthusiast. The area includes walking trails on an abandoned air Force training base. All of the structures are now gone, but you can see where the foundations were. Caution this area does allow hunting in certain areas, so you will want to mind the map, and if it is hunting season.

Andrew Kent

Meh. Easy walking trails along farmers fields

Matthew R

Fantastic history with reminents of what once was there. Great place to write a bike, walk, walk the dogs etc. Love it !

Katie V

I had been wanting to visit here for years and just never got around to it. Now I am completely kicking myself for not going sooner! It is absolutely beautiful! Such a wonderful place to go for a nice, long walk in the country! It’s peaceful and beautiful. Highly recommend!!

Very charming trail. Fairly simple, very well maintained, little to no litter around. Lots of birds and variety of insects (avoid the pine trees they are filled with gypsy moth caterpillars). For the hikers it's an easy trail, it is very flat, if you do everything its more than 10kms, there are bathroom facilities available.

Was a fun time. Learned some history and enjoyed a walk among the crazy ladybugs. Not much left in terms of buildings from war time but some interesting info. Never knew this place existed but was a lucky stop. If you like history and trails, it's a good, easy time.

Lois Wilson

A fantastic reuse of land. Open and just wild enough

Zack Aeichele

Place was beautiful. Be mindful of the hunting rules and restrictions. Everything is posted at the main entrance.

milldabeast519 da beast

Not a bad little spot to hunt. But EVERY time I go I seem to encounter people walking there dog on the hunting side and they are unaware of the rules.... or they where orange and think that makes it okay to dog walk on the hunting side during hunting days . Rules are pretty straight forward .they have signs and maps posted everywhere. If it's confusing you should avoid walking there .

Very nice scenic place. We bring our dogs all the time. Can let them run off leash if you wish. I've heard the ticks are bad this year. Always make sure to check yourself and your puppies when you get home!

I have been taking my dog here for quite some time and we love it! I want to give a big shout out to the people who cleaned up the trees on the trail along Scotch Line after the storm on Nov 15. I went there today expecting to have to go around all the downed trees and was pleasantly surprised with how great the trail was. Thank you! Great work!

Always love this place! Such a wonderful place to spend the day. And the dogs are always welcome! We met many doggies and people on our walks and they are always sooo nice!. Love this place always.

Juraj Mazuran

Like the area, except for the dog walkers who let their "cujo's" run without a leash. If a dog is barking its head off, growling and baring its teeth.... don't tell me he's friendly. Get him to heel immediately. If he doesn't then don't let it off the leash.

Cathy Tee

I had never heard of this area before. I liked it very much. I will come back.????

david mercer

I got flea and tick treatment for my dog before the weather got warm. You might want to do the same. The trails are wide for the most part but a few smaller quiet ones. I pick up after my dog and wish there were a few more garbage cans for it. The picnic tables and benches are nice for a break on a nice day. Good place for families.
