A great place to relax between the woords and fresh air. Its spread across a large area so it takes almost a day to cover each and every part. The most highlighting part is the aquarium which hold the polar bear. The zoo is very clean and well maintained. It can be accessed via Tram which drops directly next to the zoo.

Expensive Zoo - 17 ticket, 6 - dog ticket, 4.50- coffee and 0.50 a map. No water fountains for dogs, neither for people. Why are you charging 6 euro for a dog? There is nothing build or made for them. In Berlin entrance for dogs is free.

Very big and variety of animal. I went there post lockdown , they were not fully prepared. So many chambers are closed and maintainance was in process.

This is a sprawling zoo, with plenty of attractions for children and adults. The price is a bit higher (17.50€ adult on 31/08/19), however it's easy to spend a full day there. I would recommend.

Very beautiful and well designed zoo with plenty of space for the animals, in constant renovation with new themed areas. The Darwinarium alone is worth the visit.

The place is amazing! My family (including my dog) love this place! However the price is a bit expensive if you live in Rostock and want to visit the zoo regularly. In this case, the annual ticket would be a good option! :) P.S.: Due to the pandemic some places inside the zoo are closed.

Great zoo! Great staff! The darwineum it's an amazing combination of a museum and a zoo, I was amazed by it. Can't wait for the penguins and polar bears! Definitely worth spending all day.

Really fantastic zoo, beautiful grounds with interesting animals in enclosures allowing you to close and interact. Tons of spots for learning and interacting. The polarium and darwineum are worth the visit even if you have seen a lot of zoos. Amazing for kids with activities beyond great animals

Great zoo. Loved my time there, the open air section is great, the walk in the forest is very nice. The monkeys ???? and polar bears ???? are amazing. Also the food in cafeterias is also very good. Overall really worth a visit.

Was here this week with wife and kid. Beautiful green area. Was disappointed though as many many animals were not there though they should have.. Crocodiles? Gorillas? Many other cages were just empty. I guess people come to the zoo to see animals right, otherwise you can also go for a hike in the woods and save yourself a considerable entrance fee.. The polar bear luckily was around and it was a splendid view.

Very nice zoo in the forest and dog-friendly, although for additional fee. Unfortunately dogs are not allowed to the pavilions including those for which the zoo is famous for.

Even though Rostock is not a very large city, it's zoo is quite exceptional. The darwineum is just a few years old, and you immediately feel it. Wonderfully description, winding paths, up to date materials and spacious animal quarters. The rest of the zoo is older but not less well maintained. We enjoyed every step and minute there. If one enjoys zoos, do go there and take a close look at penguins, polar bears and wapitis!

Awesome place. Zoo for kids even for everyone. A day need to spend here. It's really large and many variety of species are there. Restaurants are inside. So you've easy access to the food. I saw the seal fish feeding. It was amazing. The seal fish obeys that guy and doing dancing, jumping,etc. I enjoyed a lot. Hope you too.

This is the biggest and best in Catagory 2 zoo. You can enjoy watching many animals from close proximity. The variety of collection is also great which makes it worthy to pay a visit here.

The zoo itself is fabulous. Some amazing and unique displays I've not seen in other views. However the service Cafe in which we had lunch was not good. The quality of the food is what you would expect, but they got our order wrong twice, barely an apology.

Wonderful zoo--many different, well-cared-for animals, lots of educational games and signs, and a nice selection of foods and snacks. So big you can't see it all in one day. Would definitely recommend!

I've been to a lot of zoos all over EU, this is by far the biggest and nicest I've been to. It never seems to end and you can actually see all the animals which is not the case in a lot of zoos. Go early and plan a whole day. Darwineum is amazing but I'm always bolloxed til we get there bc it's at the end ???? can't wait to see the new polarium after they open.
