This Zoo belongs to the category of Wildlife and safari park.
Great place to bring the family to see wildlife up close and personal.
Best experience, my son and I enjoy this new adventure first time be in the safari, amazing and beautiful animals. Parents take your kids to this wild adventure.
Fun place to visit with family and friends. Worth the time.
We always enjoy a visit here. The animals are well cared for. In the warmer months you can feed some of the grazers and birds from your vehicle.
Visited here as a young child, back to visit in my 40's. Still great and fun, it's a neat and educational experience.
Seen it better more animals out
Our trip through the park was a bit disappointing. We didn't get to see that many animals. We saw tons and tons of cars but very few animals. I assume they were doing their best to stay away from all those stinking and loud metal devices from hell on wheels. There were quite a few huge, loud and stinking trucks. I'm pretty sure they were partly destroying the fun for families who wanted to silently and obscurely observe animals. There is a section where you can purchase food cups for deer and antipopes. That became the highlight of our trip. It's the only place where we got to see some animals up close (we have many deer and elk in our own forest though, so this was nothing new to us). We've been there, experienced it...and will not do it again. There are better parks in Oregon where you can get up close with animals.
Park was awesome, people were very friendly. Must be a pretty cool place to work. You can tell when a staff enjoys their job. Got a good price online, can't complain there. Only downside as always, try to go when there is less people to fully enjoy. You can feel a little rushed by some of the less than patient customers.
This place us amazing, a lot of these animals I have a picture of what I think they look like but in my head but in real life its different than what I thought. I had a great time here and would definitely come back. I added that last one of the Joker ???? as a joke, cut my nickname is Joker, & wouldn't it be cool if he WAS at WILDLIFE SAFARI.
We love coming to Wildlife Safari! They may have the same animals but it is a different experience everytime we visit. It is definitely worth it to get a membership if you are close by or able to visit more often. The activities and programs offered are great experiences for the children and adults. Encounters are well worth the extra cost!
I have been multiple times, usually with my granddaughter. We have the best time together, even when COVID closed the Safari Village.
This place is an amazing non-profit. We did the drive-thru, the walking area and the Elephant encounter. Oh my, i cant wait to come back again!!!!
I've been going here for over 30 years. Love this place! I miss how they use to have the wild mustangs. In that area where they use to be (right after the bears) they really should put some kind of animal or something to see through there. Other than that, it's pretty amazing! One tip for folks that are first timers, some people know the park well and don't want to drive super slow in certain areas. To avoid feeling rushed, go to the side and let them pass. You do not have to go faster or feel rushed at all. Let them pass and take as long as you would like. You are also allowed to go through more than once without having to ask. I always suggest buying the $5 feed cups. The animals really enjoy it. P.s. always check Groupon for deals!
This is a different zoo experience. I have a six year old who LOVES it. There’s never a “I’m bored” because it’s different each time we go. You can go inside the park and see some of the animals at no cost. There’s a cafe with beer (yes!) right next to a little playground. We like to feed the koi fish. ????
Very pleasant visit, took my mom for the first time- she's been bringing me there for 30years.. I'm growing up- happy mother's day Patricia M.T. (M????M)
The drivers were super nice and answered any questions we had
Great love my time there
Super fun. Worth the money spent. If you want to see them out and about go early or later when it's cool.
Seriously amazing to see all the animals in their own element and roaming around. We're 4 hours away but will be back.
This was a great adventure.
It awesome. You can see most of the animals in the world
Mother in law loved it. Nice staff and helpful to people with disabilities.
Friendly family atmosphere. Educational and interactive. I simply loved it!!
Perfect trip today.
Completely awesome! Better than a zoo because the animals get closer! AMAZING!
Fantastic to see so many animals in the wild. Roaming freely in a huge enclosed space.
Always love this stop!! Great helpful staff. The park is different every time we go through depending on the year. Great fun feeding the deer and emu - there were 2 baby emu...soo cute! New elephant exhibit is so nice. Went in the mid morning and the animals and the cats were very happy and walking around. Walking through the small animals was fun too. Feeding the farm animals was great for the kiddos! The gift shop is always fun with art from the animals. We grabbed a hippo kiss this time. Last time we grabbed elephant art. Thanks for having a fun place!
Great place to visit. Our whole family really enjoyed the drive thru safari.
My son, husband and I had an amazing time in a unique atmosphere!! It was so good, we went through twice!!!!
I had lots of fun
Took the family (my wife had been here when she was younger, but it was mine and our boys' first time) and they absolutely enjoyed the park. My youngest loved riding the camel. And we all enjoyed driving around the park and seeing all the animals. The staff was friendly.
The whole place is amazing!! We loved all the animals during the drive, the village was really enjoyable and loved the petting zoo goat feeding with our son, and all staff are so friendly! It’s so fun to see such exotic animals so close up- we even had a giraffe chomp on the top of our RV (great experience but did cause a little damage- haha!). We have told our friends and family about this place and that they all need to go experience the Safari! Can’t wait to be back soon!!
We really enjoyed this stop. Lots too look at. We had our 2 year old GSD with us and they provided kennels for your pup. It was hot out so it was nice we didn't have to leave her in the back of the truck. The drive around safari is a little expensive but we all had a wonderful time looking at rhinos, elephants, cougars, lions, birds, we were able to feed birds and deer and that was awesome. We watched monkeys swing around and a hippo lounging in the water. The staff was really friendly.
Nice facility and friendly staff. Very large property, whether was fantastic. Kids enjoyed our stay
Did the holiday light show night show. Got an unexpected up close rhino encounter and saw more of the cheetahs than usual. The special glasses on sale weren't the standard rainbow ones they have holographic shapes. I ended up with giraffes and my daughter got snowflakes. Really did make some things 3D. I included a picture of the rhinos, they seemed a lot more interested in the cars than when we have gone during the day.
We visited the park on a very hot day but there were still many visitors.. The park is expansive and well maintained.. The animals looked well cared for.. YES bring the family and enjoy the experience..
We had a great time. Lots of amazing animals and the staff were very friendly. I took my 3 year old granddaughter and she had a lot of fun. The animals look healthy and happy. The price is a great deal. You can make two trips through if you want. The camel ride was a lot of fun. Where else can you watch a black bear eat a giant egg? Feeding some animals was a blast too. My granddaughter was delighted when animals in the feeding area stuck their heads in to gobble the food from the cup.
The only reason i’m giving them two stars is the state the bears, lions, tigers, cheetahs, giraffes & elephants were in. The black bear looked beyond depressed and paved his own small circle in the glass from just walking in a circle for hours, All the big cats (cheetahs, tigers & lions) were all extremely sad. One of the giraffes also was pacing his own walk way from walking back and forth so much, you could really see how sad and depressed all these poor animals are. This place is great to come feed deers & birds but when it comes to these poor animals that don’t belong here it’s very sad and depressing. If they have to keep them they need to make it more comfortable and like their actual HOME.
Fun place to drive through with family and friends. You can experience the animals close up and feed some of the deer and emus with cups of food from your car. There is also a place to walk through and see more animals, experience a petting zoo, and purchase food & souvenirs & picnic before or after the driving portion.
Good park. Specially feeding animals. My Kids was enjoying!!
Absolutely amazing adventure ! Perfect weather and got to see 7 different animals I had never seen face to face before ????
Great fun! Staff was courteous and helpful.
It was a quick Trip, our family guests had to leave early due to storm predicted snow.
First time coming, I love it here way better than the Oregon zoo. Everything and everyone is so lovely and friendly. The animals seem way more happier than other zoos as well. The safari drive was so much fun and totally worth trying. The vibe is welcoming and more like being a guest at a home rather than a money grabbing business. Maybe one day I can work in a place such as this cause the staff around the park really seem to love it there and I envy that. In conclusion, I will be taking future kids here one day for sure.
Excellent, great fun for us and the Grandkids
Wildlife Safari is such a fun place to go, especially when you’re needing to get out of the house. There are such cool animals (I really like the red pandas) and lots of fun things to do. I definitely recommend going here if you ever find yourself in the area.
Had fun time here. Kids loved this safari
Super fun... my kids absolutely loved it especially when a giraffe approached our vehicle the only downside to this drive-thru was that there was not that many animals at one point. It would be nice to see a lot more animals roaming. Recommend to get your tickets through Groupon instead don't forget to check out the gift shop and petting zoo will be back next year
Great experience for the family.
Absolutely worth the time and money. Definitely have to do this again with more time to spend. Wildlife everywhere. Riding camels, feeding birds, feeding sheep and goats, and the drive-thru safari to top it off. Price is great and we didn't even have time to do a close encounter. Must do for families.
So amazing its totally worth the money and the long drive we had to make it way so perfect
Defiantly not something you get to do everyday! Kids loved getting to see all the different animals! The $5 to feed the deer was well worth it!
The people here are great and accommodating. When asked, they said they use positive reinforcment to train the elephants. Only thing that really made me sad was how small the bald eagles cage was. Poor little guy.
Just an exhilarating feeling driving through the park and seeing all the animals. Very very nicely done. The grounds are kept up very good. After the 8 Mile drive which took us about an hour and a half. We parked and then went in the walking part of the animal park. And saw even more animals. It is worthy seeing and kids would love it.
it was really fun!! I especially loved the petting zoo since there was sheep UwU
Kids really like this place. really recommend you to buy a "feed cup" for the kids to feed the animals it is so fun
It was a good drive thru...animals were excited because it was feeding time. Only reason I knocked it down was due to the road
Excellent Christmas experience. Breakfast with Santa and a cheetah!!
I did not appreciate that this place is touted as being a cage free facility where all animals are allowed to roam free. apex predators should obviously be kept from other animals but tiny electrified cages aren't it.... Lions and bears are in areas so small I wouldn't keep a large dog in it. I was really unimpressed by the electric fence around the black bears. With all the money you're raking in.... You have hundreds of employees But can't plant an extra tree here and there for animals out in the wide open with no coverage? Dismal. This is not anything like the wrbsite touts. As many others have stated. Yet whoever answers these reviews is actively gaslighting the patrons. Those tiger enclosures were abysmal. No different than a zoo tbh. And no. Smart*** it's not the wrong park. Stop insulting people's intelligence. Do better.
Super fun...definitely going again
Great experience! Being Monday, pretty much had the place to ourselves. Awesome family experience
I was brought here on a recent trip to Oregon and I’m so glad I went. This is one of the best zoo experiences ever. It’s reasonably priced and there’s so much to do. You can have incredible hands-on experiences with animals. We started by walking around the free portion of the zoo. So many animals to see! The Australia section of the park has a parakeet enclosure. Here you can have fun with tiny birds flying on your shoulders and possibly into your pockets. For $1, you can purchase a food stick to feed them. It was one of the most exciting parts of our day. Next, we had a quick bite at the snack bar. A hot dog and chips for just $5.50. Popcorn for $2. They don’t overcharge at all. Great value here. Not many gluten free options, other than a few snacks (popcorn, chips, nuts, snow cones). Afterward, we had an appointment for giraffe feeding. For just $25 per person, you get to hand feed lettuce to a giraffe. How cool is that? Similar experiences in California cost over $150 per person. We ended our time at Wildlife Safari by doing the drive through experience of the park. It takes about 45 mins to an hour, but is so worth it. Here you can also purchase feed cups for $5 each. You get a cup full of animal food. The deer and emu absolutely love it and will eat right out of your hands. I don’t recommend hand feeding the emu, though. Let them eat from the cup because their razor sharp beams can cut. The next time I’m in this part of town, I’d like to visit Wildlife Safari again. Such a cool experience!
Best place in southern Oregon i can't wait to go back.
Such a fun, beautiful and educational experience. Nowhere else have I seen so many animals up close in personal. They have many cheetahs that were out and about and we saw Sumatran Tiger with her 2 small cubs cuddling up and cleaning eachother. The whole safari was amazing we saw almost every animal listed and got to see many of them within 10ft of our vehicle. The safari village which is free to visit is a beautiful area filled with animals and beautiful ponds and landscaping. There's plenty to do for kids and has a nice restaurant as well. We stopped by on our way to Washington and planned to only stay an hour or so and ended up staying for 4 hrs. I highly recommend and will most definitely be back.
I really love here. The species is more than I imagine. I came here for watching mammal but it turned out the bird they have gave me the best photo shot. My only complain is about 3 hours drive from Portland to here.
We loved how nice and beautiful the place was . The animals were so beautiful. We bought food to feed some of them . They come right up to your car . The employees there are so nice and helpful . Was our first stop on our Oregon road trip !! Great choice !!
Well kept. Clean, convenient and a great experience.
I had a sensational time took a safari tour and it was awesome I learned they're working on a area to be ready for some red wolves soon looking forward to coming back again
Lions and tigers and bears, oh my. A fun drivable safari, so worth it
Even during a world of chaos you can enjoy the beauty of life and wilderness, took our daughter age 7 over the last week and was very happy we did. Helpful staff, clean areas, and the biggest part.. the animals looked happy and healthy!! Bravo ???? well done to the team here!
Wonderful place to be with the family and kids
Great for the kids. Staff was friendly and a well kept environment.
It was AMAZING! I wasnt expecting it to be so fun.
It was great! We saw so many animals and got to enjoy the village and see the animals in there!
Great place to checkout some animals up, close & personal. Ideal for both kids and adults. Had a great time and were able to see a lot of animals.
We only did the free village. There were things to see. The kids enjoyed the feeding zoo. I was a bit unimpressed because I called to ensure the aviary would be open. I was told 10-5. Got there at 10:30 and no birds. Went through everything, came back through again and still no birds. Also no cheetah in the enclosures either.
We have such a great experience each time we go to Wildlife Safari. We can just sit and watch the animals for hours. We alwYs take out of town guests there, they are amazed. The antics of the giraffes are the best.
We got to feed adorable deer. See giraffes within an arms reach. Gorgeous Texas long horns. The animals looked well kept, happy and healthy.
Awesome experience, great for the kids, little expensive, but great.
Had a really good day with my grandson. They put in a new stand so you can buy hot dogs caramel popcorn the flamingos are beautiful everyone's really nice the baby just loved it great day
This is an amazing place. To start we walk inside the village. In the village there are flamingos, Egyptian Goose, a cheetah with a dog as her best friend. There is an island of lemurs. We saved the best for last which is a self drive tour through the roaming area. We saw elephants, bears, giraffes, wildebeest, rhinos, elk, deer, water foals, cranes and a hippo. Great place!!!
Amazing place to visit with family - kids will just love this place. Huge safari with so many animals. Plus nice rides, popcorn, ice cream shop, small restaurant, petting animals, feeding animals. Lots of fun and it’s a full day program. Lots of parking space, very friendly staff, kids don’t can see, touch and feed animals. Very nice gift shop, kids will love that as well.
Enjoy viewing animals from the comfort of your vehicle. We always try to visit the Wildlife Safari when in Winston. Outdoor zoo section is free!
We live in town and visit here roughly 1x a week. The Cub Club and Homeschool Classes are amazing. Miss J is so great with kids. She is an expert in her field and we are so fortunate our daughter gets to attend..
Wide assortment of animals and birds to see on this well organized. Friendly staff, clean bathrooms and a nice gift shop. I highly recommend this park.
Best time to go with a sunny day and all the animals are out to greet us.
Awesome place to take the whole family. Customer service was outstanding as well
Both my babies and we had a great experience!
Amazing. I definitely will be back.
We had a great time with our for kids age 7 and under. Certain parts were a little slow but we enjoyed seeing the variety of animals. Our kids liked the lions and bears but probably enjoyed feeding the deer the most. I recommend checking Groupon for any deals. We went on a Wednesday morning and it was pretty slow.
Such a great place to explore and see amazing animals. We had loads of fun!
Seeing the turtle closeup was worth more than the price of admission. It was hot so many of the animals were chilling. Still, this is one of the most awesome animal sanctuaries I've ever seen. There's not enough time in the day to take in all of the magnificence.
It was a mild temp day low to mid 80's couldn't find a whole lot of animals but once we bought some feed about half way through the safari for a few of the resident deer and fowl things got pretty funny. It was interesting and made a betting game on who was gonna come investigate us and who wasn't gonna dare come near. It was a lot of seeing who was brave enough to come eat out of my hand and who wasn't planning on sharing. At one point I thought one of the 2 legged guys was gonna show us a trick they learned and open the car door. It wasn't to crowded and the hot dogs were yummy inside the village snack area. The cotton candy was so good also. Over all I give the Wildlife Safari 5 stars two thumbs up. Great family activity. The admission can be a bit high given the times we are in but hope on to Groupon to save a few dollars and spend the money saved to feed the animals on the safari it was well worth it. Oh and be warned the two legged guys with beaks get a little greedy and peck pretty had.
The drive-through was great, as always. However, we had a bus full of young ladies who purchased food for the animals. Unfortunately, our bus does not have windows that roll down so we had to open the door in order to give these kiddos a good experience. We were approached by a young lady who was less than polite, that demanded we close the door. Although I do understand how this could be an issue, she was not kind about it. Had we known when we purchased the food that we couldn't open the door to feed the animals, we would have paid to feed them inside. My suggestion is that if the employees can see that there aren't windows that can be rolled down, they should let us know that it's not possible for us to participate in the feeding. Folks in other vehicles were hanging out of rear windows, sunroofs and every other part of the vehicle while feeding the wildlife but we couldn't do the same . Other than that, it was a great experience.
One of the most wholesome experiences ive ever had the pleasure of enjoying! Its a great spot for animal lovers everywhere!
Had a great time even got to feed some of the animals. I like that you can take your time driving through. Makes it easy to get some great pictures.
I visited this facility a few months ago. The animals were amazing to see and there was such a diverse population! More importantly, the staff were so educated, engaging, and helped teach my group about the animals. Specifically, the keeper Elizabeth working with the two bears was so great. She had so much knowledge of these two animals. Overall, great experience and I cannot wait to come back.
Excellent staff. Clean. An awesome afternoon
Amazing! Cheetah and Pup duo at the end with caretakers was amazing. Feeding all the deer and ostriches was incredible, we could not have had a better time and will be back very soon!!!!!
We had SO much fun! If you bring a pet, the kennels were not too bad, were shaded and water was provided. Plan on longer than two hours! Go early too, so the animals are not all hiding in the shade. Don't skimp, buy the feeding cups! Take your time, bring binoculars, and take a ton if pics! The walk thru area is fun, with more animals and a petting zoo. Be sure to check out the pics from the past. We loved it all. I am disappointed I couldn't have my kiddos ride an elephant, like I did as a kid. BUT you can feed a lion, a giraffe and more! Spendy, of course, so go to Groupon, like I should have done and FORGOT to do. All in all, a memorable experience we all enjoyed. We got lucky in the bear exhibit. The Rangers were there, getting them ready for a thing, so they had them all over by us, eating grapes, hamming it up for the cameras.
Up close look at your favorite wild animal In n out style.fun camel ride, petting zoo, deer feeding.
So much fun! Easy and cheap. And you see the animals up close. Worth it
I'm a huge fan of leaving positive reviews But I was incredibly disappointed yesterday. Actually I'm mostly sad about our experience. My children and I traveled to the area for my Aunt's 'celebration of life services.' My children and I have wanted to go to Wildlife Safari for years and years. When we pulled up we stopped at the ticket booth. The lady said absolutely nothing about my small old dog in my lap. She let me pay $70 and then instructed me to the entrance booth. When we got there the man asked if my dog was a therapy animal. I told him she was not. At that point he told me he can not let us in. I said "wait a minute! The lady just sold me $70 worth of tickets and said nothing about this." My 4 year old started crying and the gentleman said fine but that I had ro keep my windows up the entire time and put this big tag ion my mirror that completely obstructed my view. Had the lady told me this before selling my tickets, I would have went to the celebration of life and left my dog there while we went to wildlife safari. My kiddos didn't get to interact in the feeding of the animals and my windows are extremely dark so the entire trip was very upsetting to the kids. I'm a big believer that kids feed off of their parents energy and so I did my best to keep it positive the entire time but before we even reached the hippos my kids were so upset. I can own the fact that having a pet with me wasn't a bright idea (it just hadn't crossed my mind) but the fact that they sold me the tickets and THEN almost didn't let us in was really upsetting. My kiddos didn't get to really experience it and so it was literally "waving" the fun in their faces for an hour and a half. We will try again someday but right now I'm just disappointed for my 3 kiddos.
We had a blast. Got lots of great pictures. Animals were active. Disappointed the Lyons were to far to get a picture through the double fence. But we could see them. We loved seeing all the wild life in 2 hours. Awesome fun!
We absolutely LOVED it! We will be back again for sure. It's nice to see wildlife roaming around with enough space.
Lot has changed, the interior is missing some animals in the free walk thru area. Still cool for the kids. Concessions have also changed, but souvenir coins were still available turn sanitizer nearby. Worth the day.
This lockdown has been difficult for everyone, so I was very excited to hear the drive thru portion was still open. Even though it's a far drive its worth. Get the family in the car head on down and give your kids something to do as well as yourself. It's a cool layout as you get to see various animals from different continents. The staff were very friendly as well.
Wonderful, informed staff that are always ready to answer questions a d help.out! Loved the opportunity to see many of these animals for the first time and up close! My grandchildren were in awe most of the time! Great time had by all ages and we will be back!
I first visited in about 1973, watching Wildlife Safari grow has been so awesome! It is such an incredible place to visit! Here is a photo from the giraffe encounter last summer.
This was a new experience for me and my family. In my opinion it’s a hit or miss especially what time you go and what type of weather. There were lots of animals to see but most of them were taking naps, probably because they just had lunch. Other than that I definitely recommend taking the drive thru and going in for free to the walk in exhibit, the best part of that is seeing the baby cheetah and pup play around together.
Two ways to experience animals of many kinds! Drive thru to see big cats, zebra, elephants, well if I were to list them all it would ruin the surprise. There is also a path to discover animals in the park, a gift shop, play area, and an arena to learn and really interact with wildlife presentations! Great diner food makes for a wonderful day trip for the whole family!
Very impressive
We took our young granddaughters there and they really loved it. Would recommend this place to everyone. We just did the walk-thru and their was a lot to see. Says they will have a new train soon. So we'll have to go back to do that.
For 58$ for 2 adults to make 2 drive through passes and visit the inner walk through park was awesome there are so many different animals much more than I shared another big + is they have clean bathrooms and activitiesfor families petting zoos gem mining camel rides train rides.
Was ok would have been nice to be able to get more pictures of some of the animals
Enormous grounds, plenty of animals at the drive through and a also very neat. Knowledgeable and friendly staff. Recommend planning 4 hrs or so for the visit and if you're with kids, start with the village to ride the trains. Great value for the money, highly recommended
Amazing! The guides are very knowledgeable and the animals are magnificent!
Such a great time! Worth the $ spent
Fun place for an adventure! They have many day activities for an extra cost, we got a photo with a cheetah and to hand feed giraffe! Driving the safari was beautiful, so many animals to see, definitely recommend.
Awesome place with so many different kinds of animals. You just drive through and enjoy. Would definitely recommend.
Great time. Feed the animals in Asia and enjoy the Americas and Africa. Make sure to get out and walk through the village!!!!!
Great fun with family. Driving through beautiful landscape seeing wild animals in the wild is a good day.
Ring tail lemurs are the best and I had a. great time!
Great place to take the kids and they a big into conservation. I wouldn't recommend eating here though.
We always love Wildlife Safari. Now you can get food pellets to feed the emu/deer/yak/geese. Village upgraded a lot since last year.
A tremendously fun and interesting place to visit. My wife and I took two of our grandsons (ages 3 and 6), and they loved it as well. The downside for me is that it is a bit spendy, and they will try to squeeze out more $ at every turn. Watch for Groupon specials!
Nice afternoon with the teens! A pleasant and relaxed experience.
Such amazing staff!! They just recently held a free tour of their drive through park for the children to help ease the effects of this pandemic!! Such a great heart for their community!! Will definitely be back.
They are taking precautions in the Village with masks required, and the drive through is in your own vehicle. Animals were pretty active despite a hot day.
This is decent place to visit for drive through safari. Safari takes around 45 mins with different sections such as Asia, America's etc for different animals. There is stop to buy food for animals at 5$ a cup during the safari trail. Living feeding is fun and there are different birds that you can interact with. Bears were in hibernation during winter visit. Weather does play spoil sport sometimes especially if there is snow and dirt on the trail. There are ample parking spaces, gift shops, restrooms on site. Safari is open till 9am - 4pm everyday. Tickets can be purchased in advance or onsite at 23.95$ per adult.
Rumor is thee animals get fed somewhere between 2pm-4pm, we were there about 3/3:30 and ALL the animals were out! They have a restaurant, cotton candy/pretzel stand and debit/cash vending machines. They have a cute gift shop too! One of these times we'll have to spend the $40 and have a personal feeding time. Wildlife Safari is definitely one of my favorites in Oregon along with the Aquarium in Newport.
A wonderful time as always. Love seeing animals be able to roam and have some solice of home, while being safe and protected.
Very cool experience! I would recommend to anyone. Right off I5. Very interactive, you can even feed the animals from your door. You can really tell that they care about there animals. Very friendly staff. If you have a dog or cat, you will have to put them in a kennel provided at the front gate. It's about a 45 minute to hour tour depending on how interactive you want to be. They charge for a lock for the kennel. Good price for what you get. The animals come right up to your window.
Great anytime, but fantastic during the pandemic. No contact, no hassle. Fantastic.
We love this place! We purchase tickets on groupon and usually can get in for around half price! Love the staff. Check the seasonal items open since most things are not available on the weekdays.
This place is amazing. All the staff are super friendly and knowledgeable plus you get to see animals closer than you ever might in your life. We got to ride a camel, pet and elephants trunk, plus see all kinds of amazing animals super close to our car. Well worth it and will defiantly be coming back.
Didn't see a lot of animals out when we went through
Had a wonderful two days at Wildlife Safari with two of our granddaughters. Staff is amazing with all these animals.
Great place to see wild animals up close.
I love the drive thru area & have had a season pass for years. Last week I made the mistake of going inside the gift shop/ customer service area & was surprised & appalled to find at least half of the employees not wearing mask. One woman wore a mask & pulled it below her mouth each time she spoke - after a year of this pandemic one would think they’d know how to wear masks & with an indoor mask mandate you’d think they’d insist all employees wear them properly. I expected better from a facility who has always seemed to care about the welfare of their guests & animals. I emailed them twice about this & got an email back confirming they received my email but I got no response. I will use my pass the rest of the year but will not renew & will sure never go into the gift shop again.
Way higher end than exspected very nice showing i was shocked my teenagers got into
Great place! The animals were out when we drove through. Really reccomend going early if you can. The free (if you bring a lock or $5 lock) kennels were awesome. The kennels are well kept, no smell, cement floors, with a nice cedar fence around the area. The buildings have metal roofs. Please pick up after your pets. If you have a Oregon zoo membership mention it at the gate for a discount.
This place was fantastic! I wasn't sure how it was going to be, but they're really great here. It has a ride-through safari where you drive your own car through. It was very fun and felt like you were going on an adventure! I couldn't help from singing the Jurassic Park theme the whole time... My favorite part by far was feed the bears!!! For $5 you get a cup of frozen grapes that literally throw out to the bears! Oso, a HUGE Grizzly bear knows how this works and waits for you to throw and you literally play catch. It was wonderful! This isn't one of those dumb things where you put food into a plastic slide... you literally throw it from your car into the huge area where they live. I guess it's good for them too because they are foraging what they miss. Other highlights were seeing Buffalo, lions, tigers, cheetah's and elephants... but again, the bears stole the show. Additionally, you can walk around their "zoo" near the visitors center. I think that part might be free. It was VERY cool!!! The ONE place that this place must improve is the restaurant. That almost costs them a star, but the place was so much fun, I'm letting them keep it. The staff is VERY friendly. But the food itself is incredibly limiting and the most stereotypical "them park" food you could think of. Everything else about this place breaths top notch, so not sure why they let this slip so much. If you're on a road trip out this way... definitely stop!!!
This place is awesome! A wide variety of wildlife and exhibits. The staff was superb! Very polite, kind, and knowledgeable. They were all eager to help and answer all my questions. 10/10 highly recommended!
I really had no idea what to expect. You hear drive through zoo and something like tiger king comes to mind; however, we were pleasantly surprised. The zoo is very clean and spacious. You can tell they actually care for these animals as they have lots of space and are constantly changing the habitats to provide new stimulation. Actually thought it was better than the Portland zoo. Glad we took the drive to visit and I'm sure we will be back many times in the future.
Perfect day at the Safari. We arrived early and the cool cloudy weather left all the animals active and visible. We have been here before and didn't see nearly as much activity. Great day1
Some is animals come so close to your car! It's so cool!
What a fun experience! All of the animals were out, and you even get the opportunity to feed some from your car. I will defiantly be back.
We spent about an hour here.. driving around by ourselves. Wish it was a bit longer though . Take your time to look at everything and drive slow... BY FAR- The giraffes walking on the road by ideas the best yet! Didnt see bears... Hoping to come back here again when the kids get older... in one of those "safari trucks", and a feeding experience:)
Love this place so worth the money and the year pass. Fun
What a beautiful place to visit I have so many wonderful memories here. I try to come here every year with the family. It's truely a fun place to visit. So many animals and it's so cool to be able to drive thru and get a live look of wild life, such a fun experience. And the children find it soooooo cool. I cannot wait to come back with the family for another great time here. Keep up the great work this place is awesome :)
FANTASTIC day trip - Covid compliant outing. We were shocked at how many animals we saw and how fun it was. Tons of animals out. Took a lot of photos. Groupon would save a few bucks if you have an even number of people but since we had an odd number and a two year old (free) we opted to buy tickets online straight off their website. I would hate to think they lost any money to Groupon as they knocked it out of the park in my book. Save your stub and go through a second time. Park and do the village first in case your group tires out. We had a toddler in a spica cast - flat wide areas all ADA compliant inside village. Interior restrooms in village + portables in parking lot. Village is included in your ticket. Don’t skip it. Train wasn’t running during Covid and camel rides were extra but you can watch up close. It was a great adventure. We had a lot more photos and videos than these.
MORE FUN THAN I WAS HOPING FOR. We had a blast. Thanks to everyone involved in running the place!
Loved it. My favorite zoo in the northwest
We visit this place every other year and definitely worth the trip
We always take our kids. Never a disappointment!
It was amazing to see all the amazing animals up close. It made me a little sad to see staff and visitors alike not wearing their masks. I understand it was outside but the employee I asked said it was required
We always enjoy our drive through the safari, we honestly aren’t ever disappointed, even if we don’t see many animals. This trip we took today ( 9/10/2021 ) was an extra adventure! We drove about two hours to have a fun family trip before school started for the kiddos, about half way through the safari our Navigatior overheated, of course we panicked! A staff member told us to try and make it to the annual feed area and there someone would contact maintenance so we could get some water to fill our SUV so we could at least make it out of the safari.. When the amazing maintenance men showed up ( quickly too ) they were extremely helpful and looked under the hood and even under the car to try and figure out what was wrong-thankfully those two amazing men found the problem-fixed and filled out car with water! Those men are TRUE HEROS! They didn’t have to go above and beyond but they did-so I want to give a HUGE SHOUT OUT TO RANDY & GLEN!! They deserve the WORLD and more!!! I honestly wish I would have gotten their picture so I could show everyone what hero’s look like!! But I’ll just make sure they get recognized!!
Safari is nice place to see most of the wild animals in drive through by our own vehicle
Came on a Sunday evening at 5pm as a pitstop and respite of a long travel along the cost. Really great experience as we rode through the safari and witnessed animals in their quasi-natural habitat. To see these wonderful creatures so close and not feel rushed, with only a few cars that day, this was (for the price) well worth it! We bought our tickets online and entered quickly. Took about an hour to cruise the whole safari.
My kids had a blast.
Great family experience! Worth the money and gas. We drove 2 hours from Keizer, OR. You can go as slow as you would like as long as its under 10mph and take pictures, feed the animals, and just view the beautiful landscape. All kinds of animals were out and about, lions, tigers and bears! Oh my! Good combo of driving around and then walking around to see the smaller critters. The lemurs are fun to watch too!
Beautiful, fun, and such a great family activity or even just a nice date! Alot to see, staff is friendly, and the animals all looks so well taken care of which made the experience so much better.
Very fun place to visit just make sure you call before to see if you can feed the animals because when we went they didn't let us. Seeing the giraffes was the most fun because they walk right next to your cars. There is also a train and horse rides. My favorite animals were the red panda and cheetahs.
Animals easily viewable. Able to drive through twice with the purchase of a single ticket.
Amazing time! My 2 year old had a blast and I enjoyed the time spent.
Fun, seen alot of animals, weather was nice, kids enjoyed feeding them. Got photos taken in photo booth.
I love this place, but where did the animals go, bears missing, no monkeys and few zebras.
What a Great place to visit! Did the village walkabout and saw the pink flamingos and cheetah! So many critters to see. Had burgers at the restaurant, they were delic and a good price ????
My great granddaughter had a blast looking at the animals. So did I.
Nice experience to drive through wildlife area by car
So AMAZING. Best experience ever! We had so much fun. AMAZING staff so knowledgable and nice. Best experience ever
Great experience! Always have fun there each time I go and itll never get old!
Its pretty darn cool most of the animals look way happier and healthier then the ones at a zoo so I can give respect for that. Also the animals will come up to your car window and thats really cool.
Wonderful place to take the family enjoy your snack and see some of Nature's greatest achievements.
Great place, lots of fun. Animals seem well taken care of by staff. Were one of the last cars through and saw a guy and lady (don't know names) feed the older cheetahs. They explained details about each and were more than happy to answer questions.
The very slow drive was fun, my granddaughters got to feed some of the emus, rheas and sika deer.
Hidden gem. Need to visit this place. Absolutely amazing!
I had a great time with my family, the kids loved it! The staff were all really nice and knowledgeable, totally recommend going!
This was an amazing experience! The safari is a great place to spend a few hours
AMAZING AMAZING EXPERIENCE!!!! We got to see a bison deliver a baby! This place is so awesome I definitely recommend anyone come see this place uf they get a chance!
Good price food great portions fun things to do was a nice drive lots of animals out and about near road. Village is nice little park outside grill was nice for the kids.
Terrific visit today with the family. Well-maintained facility and animals. Friendly staff. It was a nice spring day and all the animals were up and about. 2 thumbs up! We also appreciated that all the guests were wearing masks.
Loved it! Definitely will be back. The drive through was very cool and the walk around shop area was fun!
Wow! What an amazing place. We drove almost 4 hours to visit and it was totally worth the trip! We even got to pet an elephant!
Wish I could post some of the videos! Beautiful area, park is amazing, and my 5 year old daughter had a blast! The dog and the cheetah that are best friends are honestly a sight to see, too cute????
Beautiful and well maintained! Great place to spend few hours.
What a great and fun activity! We brought our two kids and loved it!!
So much fun!!! especially the encounters. We have season passes and it is so worth it. The kids love it every time
Pretty neat place - I didn't realize any driving safaris existed in the US. Overall it was fun. There were a few points where there was too much stopped traffic.
Animals where out, feeding animals was available, clean bathrooms and GREAT family time
This place is wonderful for a family trip. We stopped by along the way on our road trip to CA. It's not far from I-5 and it gives the closest wild animal experiance in the PNW. You drive your car on designated paths while animals walk around. I would recommend this place to everyone.
What a great family outing. The driving tour was fantastic. Animals right on the road, up close and personal. Feeding area was worth the price. All the animals were active, well taking care of. 600 acres to roam in. The free walking area was also good.
The kids had a nice time, but it took us around two hours due to all the labor day weekend traffic. Almost all the animals were visible, which was great! We bought the cup of animal food, but had a lot of trouble finding hungry animals, since the 40 cars in front of us had just fed them. After driving through, we got slushies that were very expensive but worse than my ten year old would've made at home. The kids really enjoyed the presentation showing several small animals. Overall, it was an enjoyable trip.
If you do not stop here with your kids, you need to check your head. This was awesome. I have been to many wildlife parks, including Safari West (Northern California) numerous times, this place was the best experience my kids have ever had (and me). You will probably not get this close to a Bison in Yellowstone, or a bear in the zoo, or a hippo on Safari, or rhino in the bush. Just awesome. Just do it.
Very nice attractions with Lions Tigers Cheetas, Elephants and Bears plus many other animals including Camels and Camel rides! Well worth the entrance fee!
Though the name says Wildlife Safari, there is not wild enough in this place. But a nice place. You can see Zebra, Giraffe, Rhino, Elephants, Tiger and Cheetah along with deer, bear, Ostrich and Bisons. Amount you pay for this is too high. You can visit the free stuff in the entrance, those are good for kids. Learning program is good for kids, you can feed the goat, horse and sheep
I absolutely loved everything about it. So much FUN!! It made this old lady feel like a kid again!
Fabulous variety of animals. The walk around village is free. You only have to pay for entrance to the drive through park. You can bring your own picnic lunch or purchase food in the village.
Took a lot of great pictures. I was able to get really close to the animals. Almost too close????
Beautiful 600-acre animal refuge! I love that animals can roam free. Would definitely recommend this place for sure! They are also the largest cheetah breeder in the world.
An easy access on I-5, nice and beautiful experience for both kids and adults!
It was beautiful and so much fun! Way better experience than a normal zoo. The staff was great and even took care of a skinned knee and elbow with kindness and care (thanks Carol!).
The park was great... Until the African Elephant area. They looked not as cared for as the rest of the animals. Very small area for such a large beautiful soul to be caged in. They swayed around which is a sign of stress and one wouldn't put one of his back legs down.
Our family always loves the walk through and drive through parts. The staff is professional and courteous.
Fabulous time! The giraffe was the star of the show!!
Fantastic time, spent all day there. Kids loved it!
Its a wonderful experience for the whole family we really enjoyed it.
Awesome adventures to be had here at Wildlife Safari in Winston. There's plenty of fun for the whole family !!!
Fun fun fun. Nice drive
Had a great time with my Grandson and family! It made for a great Mother's Day!
Absolute blast. So many animals. You'd think drive thru wouldn't be fun but it was. So many close encounters with giraffe, emu, gazelle Buffalo and more. Plus no seat belts or time limit. So many big animals too!
We really enjoyed Wildlife Safari! The Red Pandas are amazing!!
Beautiful place. Friendly staff, I loved everything. Really nice experience.
Great family fun
Super fun for the whole family! Already talking about going back again soon. The Dog kennels they have there is a great idea and made it so that we we able to go. The animals were amazing! Totally worth the trip ????
Very fun experience and worth the money!
My boyfriend and I came here and had a wonderful experience. There's a variety of animals here that you can view up close, and you can use your map of the safari to identify the animals. Also, there's an area where you can feed some of the animals for $5 a cup. Its neat because you can drive around the safari twice, which I would recommend because we saw more animals/wildlife the second time around. The next time we visit this place, we will ride the camels and sign up for one of the animal encounters. I would recommend this place to my loved ones and anyone looking for a fun time!
Best wildlife safari we have been to. My 2nd trip and we did one on one with giraffes. Loved it. Then drove through the safari and saw many many animals in natural habitat. A must see adventure.
Check the best time to visit in a day... Went around 10.30am... only 50 % animals are roaming on the trail... food is good...
3 hr drive from Vancouver, WA to Winston, OR. This drive was worth it! What a great family adventure. They really took good care of the animals in this sanctuary. The place was so clean and well organized. I would highly recommend this if you want to take your family out and meet new friends during this pandemic.
Absolutely a wonderful time with the family we had a blast! All the animals look so happy and healthy what a life!
Great customer service, super kind staff. Charles at the booth is super nice every time. I love the birds!
Sweet staff, willing to anwser questions and the animal keepers are very passionate about their animals :) They've got a TON to offer in the free village (I rhiynk is what it's called) and the whole experience is relatively inexpensive! We went as my birthday gift to me and did one of the giraffe encounters! It was a truly magical experience though I of course wish it could've been longer ❤️
Always super fun! Even with the pandemic it's a fun place to be. Get there early since each pass can do two drive thrus go early in the morning and then again in the afternoon and you'll get different views! Also the walk through village is free!
Make the most of your visit and add an animal encounter! You can hand feed Giraffe, pet an Elephant, help feed Lions and Tigers, and much more. We go atleast twice a year and always have a fun time, helpful tip - If its summer go early, once the heat peaks the animals seek shade and shelter and you wont see as much. Drive thru tickets get you 2 go arounds as you drive next to various animals seperated by home continent including - Zebra, Buffalo, Elk, Giraffe's, Emu, Ostrich various deer's and birds (which you can buy a feed cup and feed them) even Rhino's are roaming around can't name them all. Big cats, bears, and hippos are all behind fences but viewable... The Safari Village is free to walk around and is full of exhibits, food, a playground, and even a small petting zoo. Eat lunch at the cafe while over looking the lemur exhibit with lions and zebra in the distance, your family will enjoy.
SO MUCH FUN! Such an awesome experience and unique animal encounters if you're interested :) would definitely recommend!
Nice place to visit even if you don't have time for the drive thru part. Nice cafe and the staff is great.
This was a great trip! Lots of encounters with the animals. Such a great time. All the animals looked healthy and the property was well cared for. Get the groupons! Saved us 45 bucks!
It was definitely a different experience! Went through the drive! The animals were majorly free to roam, and I was even able to get close (not too close) the bears they had! You can even feed some of the animals directly!
This is an absolute gem. A must for the whole family. This is a self guided safari and the excitement begins as soon as you pass the gates. You almost immediately see zebras and gazelle minding their own business. You are allowed to stop the car and from your window take as many pictures as you need. You continue to drive around and see lions, rhinos, giraffes, and more. The tour is 1.5 hours ending with friendly deer. The park offers $5 cups with deer frienfly food ready to purchase toward the end. In addition to the safari they have a zoo!!! It was a wonderful surprise to learn that zoo entrance is free. It was just as wonderful as the safari with plenty to do for the kids. I absolutely enjoyed this and by far is my favorite memory of Oregon. Tip, enjoy the zoo first. Plenty to do and it will allow your kids to get tired. The safari will be a bonus and you will have plenty to talk about on the car ride home.
beautiful place to go with the family and have moment with nature a safe place because of the pandemic zero contact with people we can enjoy seeing different extraordinary animals
Enjoyed it again, second timer for me. More animals this trip and got to feed the deer
I loved seeing all the different kids of animals my kids enjoyed it also down fall I would say is we didn't have time to see all the animals in the walk through area because they were closing and the gift shop prices were a little high. But the experience was still a lot of fun. There was a couple crazy drives that were driving over the speed limit and trying to scary some animals out of the road came pretty close to hitting them. But thank God they didn't over all wonderful time and a lot of pictures of different animals great family outting.
Pretty good overall but not all the animals were visible and they didn't control the heavy traffic very well.
Was ok, animals were fine, but some exhibits made it hard to see the animals. Additionally, it was difficult feeding the animals for us...
Great place to take the family!
My family of 6 had a blast!!!
It was so awesome you get to feed animals pet them and all kinds of super fun things and if you go I hope you get a good experience like I did????????
Let's just say I'll never go Back the condition of the animals are awful
Fantastic and quite thrilling.
I come here every time I visit my sister and nephew. I love this place! I have been to many different drive thru safaris in the state, and this one is still my favorite! Every time it's a different experience, with different animals venturing closer. Staff are all friendly. I did wish you had a bigger space for the bears...I feel like they need more space to roam.
Worth every penny and more.
Great time with the grandkids, family friendly and very informative.
I will definitely come back. This place was so awesome. Reasonable at the prices. The animals in the drive thru was trying to get in my car. It was so much fun.
Great time! Worth the price of a membership.
My son and I had the most amazing time. We drove through the park, got our picture taken with a cheetah, and we also got to meet a d pet an elephant!!! Like my son said, BEST DAY EVER...
So much fun! Not too expensive. Great time!
Fun to go and get fresh air and see all the animals.
Cool little trip. Kids loved it
Very cool! Always working to improve 5he experience as well.
A valuable, educational resource for everyone within driving distance. Their conservation and outreach programs have been serving the area for decades, and one of my kid's favorite things is driving through the park, just like I did as a kid.
Loved the Experience! Especially Calvin the Camel. My Grandaughter and I Loved it! She is 2. We still talk about it all the time. She and I will never forget the experience.
the Safari Drive is unique and something you don't get to experience every day. Bring your own lunch there are plenty of places to sit and eat. The meal choices there are limited and quite expensive. The Safari costs to get in. Look for Groupon coupons. There is parking across the central area across from the parking area is free to go into. There are displays of animals and playgrounds and other things like camel rides which actually cost. Get feed cups as there is a area where you can feed the animals. Feed cups can be gotten for less money on Groupon. Feed cups are $5 in the Safari.
It was a great time for the whole family
We have been going here every year since we had our first daughter. We love it. It is so fun being able to drive through and see so many beautiful animals so close and not in cages. We also love being able to run around and see the animals inside as well. The playground is also a nice plus to help use up energy before our trip home.
Good place to visit with kids
This place is very fun especially if you have kids! The staff are super nice as well!
Got to see almost all of the animals pretty close to the car. Only problem was some extremely rude guests but the park was great
Family had a blast! All the animals were out and walking around or laying close by.
Great place to bring families. They are nice enough to give 2 drive through since the animals do move around a lot.
Visited in April; One of the best safaris I ever visited, felt animals were interactive and have more freedom
Going to Wildlife Safari is always a fun family day! We love seeing all the animals on the drive through, they are able to roam around! The feed me cups are always a huge hit! The walk through area (The Village) is always fun to check out too! We always bring quarters to feed the goats and there are educational shows throughout the day where you can learn about different animals. I would highly recommend if you are looking for something different and fun!
Growing up next to wildlife safari has ruined my experience of the average zoo. I've been to a number of them throughout the states and this is the only one that I feel treats animals with proper space and respect. I love the open concept, giving animals freedom to roam instead of being locked up. Freedom to seek out human interaction if they wish or to be left alone. I do miss their previous setup for big cats and predators many years ago, where they could roam more freely. But it is still well designed compared to any other zoo I've been to. Thank you Wildlife Safari for caring for your critters!
This is a great afternoon trip. Be patient and enjoy it. The gift shop is reasonable for these places. The Wildlife Safari is one of the important links in the movement to save endangered species and is famous for their work with the notoriously difficult cheetah breeding programs that brought the cat back from the brink.
It was really fun
Fun place to spend a few hours with the family. We found a great deal on Groupon so make sure to check that out. RV parking for you folks on vacation. Earlier is better.
Beautiful facility. Friendly and very helpful staff. We love to come here and enjoy the animals.
Only drawback was I couldn't take my teacup size dog into the village.
We did the cheetah encounter and it was amazing! Love this place.
We stopped here on our way home from California with our 3 kids, ages 3, 6, and 9. The kids did not have to be bucked up which allowed them to move around to see the animals better. We saw lots of animals and had up close interactment with deer, alpaca, buffalo, large birds (smaller than ostrich but similar, not sure what they are called) and a brown bear. The long horned cattle , giraffes, ostriches, cheetahs and other animals were amazing! The animals appear to be extremely well taken care of with plenty of space, food and water stations and appropriate activities to keep them from being bored. We only did the drive through and then checked out the other smaller animals that you can walk around and see. We watched the camel rides and let the kids play on the small play structure for a few minutes before we headed out, that was enough for us, but the other animal encounters you can pay extra for are probably good too if you want to do more. We used a Groupon to get almost half price on our tickets. Overall it was a great experience to do at least once.
A great tour with an amazing tour guide named Annie! She gave us a great background on the history of the place and was very knowledgeable about all the animals, I very much enjoyed it, and kudos to her husband for driving the squeaky bus!
Always great took grand kids this trip for there first time!! It never disappoints
So cool! Such a good time with the family! Really great and very safe.
Great experience. Kids loved it. Did It 3 years ago, just back again
4.6 STARTS?! IT DESERVES 10! Its a shame you can only do 5 stars. It was and is an extremely clean and family oriented environment. The best part, is that you can tell the animals are cared for and happy. And if it isn't, you can see what they go through to make them happy! Thank you to the Wildlife Safari for such a great experience, and good job!
Such a cool place. Way better than your traditional zoo. You get to see the animals in more of a natural environment and can get up close and personal from the safety of your car. We did the cheetah encounter and everyone in our group loved getting that close to the big cats. You spend about 20 min with the cheetahs and the guides answer all your questions and then get pictures of you with the cheetahs. We were able to see buffalo, elk, rhinos, lions, giraffes, zebras, and much more on the drive through. Really cool—kids loved it.
Amazing place for all ages to create a lifelong memory! I went as a kid and got to take the next generation today, it was perfect! Drive through safari with 100s of animals and walk through exhibits, a restaurant and much more. If you can't visit, its a great foundation to donate to!
So much fun to see such a diversity of animals from the safety and comfort of our vehicle
A surprising variety of animals both in the drive-thru and in the walk-in Safari village. Employees are friendly and will usually be willing to explain the behaviors of the animals if you catch them during feeding time.
This is a drive-thru wild animal park. It'd be great to go in the morning before the sun. you can drive through twice and go through the park for 1 fee.
I liked it, go early. Went in a Sunday and when we were leaving the line to get in was long! Basic animals that were hard to see. Best parts: bison if they crossed the road near your car and feeding the deer looking dudes!
From looking at my friends videos yesterday im appalled by how these animals look. They look like they're getting fed the bare minimum to survive. I don't like to see the rib cage or spine on a animal when even the zoo in my city tend better to their animals than this.i hope this changes soon
Wonderful to see animals roaming.
Wonderful place to visit. Worth the 3+ hours drive from Portland. Try to make there by noon, the place can get pretty crowded in the weekends and holidays. Groupon often has deals sometimes 50% off or more Don't forget your camera with good zoom lens.
Great place to take your kids and spend 2-3 hours. You can walk and drive.
They keep the place clean and clearly care for the animals they have, staff always happy to help, overall pretty nice.
Great place for the whole family to visit. Very clean and they have great covid-pre-causions in place to keep you and your whole family safe. It is a bit of a drive but we'll worth it for the price
We had a wonderful day at the wildlife safari. Had lunch overlooking the Lemurs, fed an emu and deer, and loved the encounter options.
Everytime I go is a different experience and I quite enjoy it a lot. I can't wait to see on my next trip
It has been years since I have been here and the grounds are nicer and the Village looks great and not worn. Today was a welcome relief and a relaxing way to get out after 7 months of staying at home. Thank you Wildlife Safari!
This was the best part of our week long visit to various places in Oregon.the coast was cool. But, this place was hands down the absolute coolest. I fed sitka deer..my 8yo just about flipped his lid with excitement feeding the various animals and seeing all the wildlife up close. Hands down awesomeness!!! Good prices all around!
Took the family for our daughters 15th birthday as she requested. It's always a wonderful drive through the park. Loved it.
I brought my family here to drive through the park. We also did 2 animal encounters. I will tell you I paid full price for them. It wasn't too expensive until I found out that they have AMAZING Groupons out. I could have cut the cost by more than half. They are worth it. You can drive through more than once. It's a great thing to do as animals are active at different times. Most of the staff was friendly.
Fun for the family. Good first time.
Fun and affordable. Great drive through safari with an area to feed some animals from your car in certain areas. Great little village to see other animals up close. Also options to do animal encounters which we opted not to do.
Kids had a blast! Drive through was fun even though we were there at a less than perfect time, too warm out. The walk through was very interactive and kept the kids looking for more!
What a wonderful family adventure, the staff is exceptional! We had a great time something all families should experience
Great place to take family. Lots of fun not just for Mom and Dad.
We love driving down here every summer. Definitely worth the drive, getting a chance to see the animals up close is amazing. This time we got to see the giraffes up close, one walked right next to our car. Every time is different l, but always fun and worth it!
I love the place we went just as it opened and the animals where everywhere and getting feed great time
Took the kids through the walk threw. They were so excited to ride the train. The engineer was awesome. Let the kids ring the bell. She made the kids waht to learn more about the animals. I suggest this place to anyone .
Awesome place if you want to see wild life.
It's always a blast to take our grandkids. The animals come right up to your car.
A car full of kids, even the adults. It was a great trip.
The kids and I had a wonderful time. There was a lot more than we were expecting. We ended up upgrading to an annual pass so we can go back.we were bummed that there were animals hibernating and kept out of the cold/rain but we understand. Something to keep in mind is that there are no talks or camel rides in the off season.
We had so much fun better then going to zoo and walking drive thru and see the animals better up close
Last weekend we went on Safari! We were surprised by the very long line just to enter the park, later finding out It happened to be a free weekend for Cascade Bank members. No worries! Well worth the wait! All staff members were friendly and helpful. The park was buzzing with activities for children and families. The cafe was quick and very helpful too. It’s no wonder this attraction is successful in many ways. Great family fun with a cheery atmosphere!
Lots of fun great to see so many animals.
Nice , very clean and respectful workers.
Well worth the money. What an amazing time. We got to see all the animals but one and they were all close enough to the car .
We loved this place so much on our vacation last year, we made a road trip to visit again. Definitely didn't disappoint!
The drive thru was so awesome....it had been close to 20 years since I have been there! There was a slight problem in the gift center but one of the employees took initiative and made it right....she was the one that saved the review. I Will for sure bring my grandkids back for more adventures
Really enjoyed our drive through the park. It was amazing to see so many animals up close and in spaces appropriate to their needs. I also appreciated the kennels that were available since we had our dog with us and had been thinking that one of us would have to miss out on the fun!
Such an awesome experience! You can hear the lions from far away which is incredible. So many cool species and and really neat set up. AZA accredited (think conservation zoo status) and they are part of the species survival plan. If you want a cool day and to support a really good cause, check out the Wildlife Safari! Bring $5 cash to feed the critters too!
I first went to Wildlife Safari almost 20 years ago and I just went back with my son. This is a great option for those wanting to go somewhere but stay relatively close to home. It's a quick 2.5 hours from Portland and the drive is an easy shot down I-5. At the suggestion of an employee we planned our arrival to coincide with the animals morning feeding (right around the time they open). There was no wait at the ticket booth, the person who greeted us was friendly and helpful, and we were safely tucked in our cars for the rest of our journey through the park. It's always super cool to see animals roaming about the countryside. As you drive through, it's easy to pretend you are on a real safari. It's yet another must-see Oregon attraction.
We always love to come here. Its a great outing for the family any time, but its especially great right now because you are either in your car or outside. We will definitely be back in a month or two. Grab cheaper tickets on Groupon.
Great place to visit. Avoid going during the hottest part of day. Animal don't leave shade, or move much. But still had good time. Kids loved it.
We had a blast here. Would highly recommend to anyone with children or teenagers. Was a Fun and interactive animal experience. Feeding the animals was amazing. The park itself very clean and happy animals. Had a Rhino 30 feet from our car haha pretty cool!!
It's a good experience for families. The drive-thru portion is perfect for social distancing. Bring enough money though, like similar places, prices on souvenirs and such are high to cover the cost of caring for the animals.
Fun for the kids and the animals are fun to watch
Always fun place specially during covid! Go on a nice cool day and see all the animals play.
Wildlife Safari is amazing! We took had a tiger experience, drove through the park, fed the animals and enjoyed the walking park area. Kids loved being able to drive and stand up in the car. Highly recommended Wildlife Safari!
Good experience with lots of animals to view. We also had a great time with animal interactions.
Always great.. Even in the rain.
A wonderful experience. We were visiting family in Grants Pass and knew we couldn't miss the opportunity to visit Wildlife Safari. We were celebrating my daughter's bday so we decided on doing the big cat painting experience and let me tell you it was fantastic. Being that close to a lion was surreal, then to drive through and get close to other wild animals was something that I've never experienced. Definitely worth the trip and money.
We HIGHLY recommend this place for you and your family. We set up home-base for our vacation at Seven Feathers RV Resort for the week. We had an adventures planned each day - a day trip in each direction. On Tuesday, we went to the Wildlife Safari. It was worth every penny and most of our family’s favorite adventure of the trip. Our oldest son is disabled so the idea of driving though was perfect. We saw any animal you could want to see. We had an incredible experience with a giraffe. We fed animals. We laughed, screamed, and watched in awe as our kid’s faces lit up! If you are near Winston, you MUST do this!! Please take your family there!! You will not regret it!! We cannot recommend this adventure highly enough!!
Rhino's and cheetahs and tigers and bears, this thing's butt, AND A GIRAFFE! Kids loved it
You will never want to leave. Everyone is so nice and so helpful.
This is a great park to visit, the safari portion is great and a must visit in the area. It takes roughly 1-1.5 hours to do the full loop, and you'll be able to see alot of great animals from larger big cats like tigers, cheetahs to bears, giraffe, and elephants. The Asia portion of the park is where you can feed animals for $5 cup of feed. All the animals seem trained to walk up to the cars and ask to be fed so its quite the experience. After you drive through the park, you can stop to visit the restaurant, other smaller animal exhibits, ride a camel, and visit the gift shop.
This was a fun day with the family. There is a lot to see, and do. The cafe on site was pretty good. We went on the elephant experience and it was great. Also did the drive thru safari, it was fun to see the animals up close.
Exciting place to see animals in the wild!
I love going. Kids always have fun, but going during the week if you can. Way to many people on the weekends!
Lots to see a cool attraction.
Absolutely wonderful day ????... They keep everything so clean & they are all so friendly ????
We had a really fun time here. It was fairly simple, so don't go expecting Amazing. But it was interesting and beautiful and really funny (spend the $5 for the feeding cup).
I absolutely love Wildlife Safari!! My Dad lived in Winston, OR and everytime I came to visit (from Boston) we went there. It is always a different experience. I've been there at different times of the year and it's always great. I did feed an elephant and it was so much fun. Even purchased a flower pot painted by the elephant I had fed. Proceeds went to a pool for the elephants which is absolutely fabulous.
We spent the day and had an amazing time! Employees are so friendly and helpful. Everyone, employees and visitors, wore masks and respected social distancing. We drove through, then rode the train and experienced a giraffe encounter. Then had lunch and rode a camel. There is so much to do and see that we bought a membership so we can go back whenever we want.
Enjoyable ????! Make sure you plan to visit the park earlier in the day when the animals are not active and know that the extra curricular activities (cheetah photos, lion feeding, etc) are at set times during the day. Staff of friendly and understanding. Animals are a treat.
My son and I had a great time it was worth the drive to come see. Friendly and knowledgeable staff...
I just love it here. Great place for kids and seniors who love animals... Moms and dads welcome to...
Love the animals! Especially those Sika deer!
This place was super fun. Our ticket let us drive through twice. We went in the morning and then went inside and walked around and did a giraffe encounter. The encounter was $40 and we drove out to where a giraffe was and got to feed her lettuce. It was so fun and cool to see the giraffe up close. After the encounter we drove through again.
This is an awesome experience whether adult or child. A bit pricey but if you check Groupon it makes it well worth it.
Love it here!!!
Really fun experience where u can see the animals in their natural habitat roaming around. Watching bear and lion from so so close was toast to my eyes. Kids specially enjoy this experience a lot given the encounter with the animals is natural.
Such an amazing/beautiful place! I have been here 4 times and each time we have had a great experience. We did a private elephant encounter a couple years ago and it was so worth it! George the elephant was so sweet. My family and I also love the Emu’s. They are hilarious. Here are some photos from our most recent visit in October 2019
Was here 40 years a go and had much more of a enjoyable time today.
It was an awesome trip! We got tons of pictures and saw a bunch of amazing animals! Definitely stop and check it out. We were short on time but decided to drive thru anyway. Download Groupon for the coupon. ???? we paid half the original price for 2 adults. Enjoy!
Been coming for years and years. See something new and different every time.
Pretty great little place. Took about an hour and a half to complete the whole loop. Feeding the animals was pretty adorable and hilarious. All the animals have more space to roam than I've seen at most zoos across the country. They seem generally happy and not miserable like I've seen a lot of places. Under $50 for just the wife and I, noticed too late that a Groupon would've saved us quite a bit, but was still not a bad price, will return some day!
Explore wildlife and get close to animals while comfortably seating in your car, a great experience where you are inside while they are outside! The place has easy access, the price is fair for the amount of maintenance they have. If you are planning to travel with your pet read the website carefully, as you either have your pet in a knell inside your car or you will have to leave your friend in one of the parks public knells. EWWWW
It was so much fun! Getting to see all the animals. And my kids really enjoyed it.
Kids 2 and under are free, $13.95 for 12 and under, adults are $19.95. Better in 5 passenger cars where you can roll all the windows down!
Such a great place loved every minute of this place!!
This was awesome! I went with my 7 year old granddaughter to break up a long trip and she loved it too. So fun! I'll definitely go again.
Had a wonderful time.
Exciting place to go to had a great time kids loved it
Was an amazing experience for my entire family. My son was thrilled to be so close to animals he had only seen behind glass or on TV
Absolutely wonderful. Every bit as fun as it was when I was a kid.
The park was great had a lot of fun but at the Cafe I got an ice cream waffle cone and it had paper wrapped around it and it was so hard to get the paper off the cone just kept crushing in my hand and I lost half my icream all over me and I told them about it and they only said the would change the cones out but did nothing about the fact that I got ice cream all over me and on the floor they never even offered to replace it for me.
Saddden me that we hadn't seen watering troths through out. Especially in this heat. Also seen a dead animal in with other animals. It was nice to feed some animals but you pay $5 for a handful of grain and you cant handfeed so you have to use the cup they give you. And the 1st animal eats 1/2 the grain in one bite
I am in love with this place. Awesome experience everytime.
Drove past the signs for YEARS...This time, took the exit off I5 just south of Roseburg and bam, 5 miles later you enter a very cool wildlife park, and DRIVE through. Entered about 11am in early May and it was near perfect. Giraffe and zebra crossed the road and munched on the verge, the bears were all out about noon and the feed truck came by and they came near the road. Fed the emu and scarier Rhea. The lions, cheetahs and tigers all cool, mostly resting but visible. Bison and elk are huge! Stop in the village to see red panda, flamingos and 3 scoops of Umpqua ice cream!
Great place to take the kids. Go when they open. The animals are much more active.
This place is amazing!!!
This place was so much fun! The original plan was to go to Crater Lake but since it was hazy and smoky we were left looking for something else to do in the area. I luckily found this place after doing some research and also happened to find a Groupon deal which made it even better. I think the price came out to be $23 for a two adult deal and $12 for one adult since we were three people. Once we got there they told us we could finish the whole safari in one hour (at 10 mph speed) if we didn't stop along the way. We ended up staying a lot longer than that, closer to 2-2.5 hours. I would definitely recommend going earlier on in the day because many of the animals were hiding in the shade when we went and it was hard to see them. But nonetheless, we got to see many more that made up for it. Most animals were loose but animals like bears, tigers, lions, and cheetahs were in enclosed areas understandably. The best part was the feeding area, where they sell these little pellets for $5 a bucket and then the deer and other tall birds come up to your car so you can feed them. We probably spent half an hour just feeding them because it was so much fun. Beware of the large birds though. They will snap at you for the food and try to put their whole head in the car. The deer were absolutely adorable and eat from your hand very gently. I would take some wet wipes so you can clean your hand and car afterwards because there was pellet powder everywhere. This park is very well maintained and I would definitely recommend it to anyone look for something to do in the Crater Lake area.
Date day and my wife took me here. I was here as a child and it is still very cool.
Great place for some family friendly fun
We had a blast seeing all the animals and feeding the little one's! We will be back!
Fun place..... Kids love seeing the animals
Interesting spot to take the family
Great place to spend time with family, lots to do and see.
My kids had so much fun
Had a amazing time! Love everything about this place I will be coming back.
I had a fantastic time! There were so many wonderful animals; especially the chicken wandering around. Feeding the deer was a fun experience. I highly recommend it.
Pretty pricy for the drive around, but the kids liked it
My little girls and i enjoyed the scenery as well as checking off the animals we saw
It was fun as always. A lot of animals were out and we got up close and personal with an elk walking down the road.
We had a great time, got there at the perfect time, all the animals were out for us to see!
Fun! If you love animals, you will really enjoy Wildlife Safari. Interacting with food in a certain section was an extra treat. However, buy your tickets online and save about 40%. Discounting is not honored at the gate. Highly recommend this to all animal lovers.
Its a pretty good family experience, have time to be with family and see in animals in your car and have a good time, and all in your comfort of your vehicle. Recommend to have drinks and little snack for the short ride. But all good.
What a fun place. Our kids had a blast. Definitely do the drive thru park early cause it gets crazy busy later in the day and take extra money to feed the animals because that is the best part!
Winston wildlife Safari is an excellent place to drive round the forest and feel the animals presence closely and safely with a great experience.
Definitely go in the morning. Less traffic, the animals are out and about
Came from Colorado to visit family and everyone said we have to go to Wildlife Safari. Wat an amazing place. Lots of cool and unique animals. Great prices and very friendly staff. My kids absolutely loved this place.
Not only was this a great experience for the kiddos, getting to see so many different animals up close (and even feed some of the more docile), but the staff were all incredibly kind and welcoming. We started with the drive through safari and then explored the walking zoo area to see even more animals, and have the opportunity to feed ducks/fish as well as budgies/parakeets, and even giraffes. Definitely worth the trip especially if you have young ones. Consider getting a family annual pass if you think you’ll return, it’s probably worthwhile even if you only go twice and you can even bring a guest. I think you can choose to upgrade your price of admission to an annual pass before you leave if you want to explore first and then decide.
Great place for a fun family adventure! Was able to get in right when it opened so it allowed for plenty of time to stop and gawk at whatever animals you wanted. I wasn't able to see the hippo or the monkeys but I don't blame that on the farm at all. Animals will do what they want. The emu and crane are so cute...they will approach the car. I was bummed out they didn't have the $5 food cups to feed the animals. Would definitly recommend this place! It takes about 2 hours to drive through the whole safari!!
It was a really fun experience. Get to see all the animals almost really close up.
I went here with my girlfriend and her daughter today. All three of us absolutely loved it. We all really liked how free range and open it is for the animals. They have a free dog kennel so your fur babies have a safe place to stay while you enjoy the park. They have quite the variety of animals there and they boast having the best breeding of captive Cheetahs in the US. They had all covid precautions taken, the park was very clean and well maintained. All of the staff was very friendly and helpful/informative. Would definitely recommend and I hope they have more the next time we come back. All around good time.
I think is over priced
Got a deal on Groupon and had a great time.
Great Experience for family trip.
Great place to see some amazing animals up close from the comfort of your car.
Went first thing when animals were the most active. Lots of babies in mid-June!
Wildlife Safari is always fun! Drive through the park in the comfort of your own car and view the animals as they roam around you. Great deals are regularly available on Groupon. Plan for at least an hour to spend driving through the park, and more if you wish to explore the areas you can walk through (petting zoo, etc).
Really awesome experience. You can get really close to so many animals. Excellent value at 20 dollars per person. Be sure to pay for some feed, as feeding the emus, deer, and other wild animals proved to be highlight of trip. We got really close to bears, red panda, giraffe, and more! Definitely see this place.
Family and I loved it was an awesome experience for all of us!
We always enjoy our visits here. When they have the feeding cups is the best. I like that most of the animals get to wander around with more space than a typical zoo.
First time ever going to Wildlife Safari. Great experience and loved taking the grandchildren.
Super fun drive-thru zoo. Because the animals are roaming around, you get to see them in a fairly natural environment. In one area, you can feed the animals so they come right up to your car!
Always a good time, a little of something for everyone!
It was great! People pay lot's of money to see these types of animals in other countries. Fun for the whole family!
It was a great day. There was really alot of activity for being winter.
We bought the annual membership. It was $120. And well worth it. With this basic membership you can being e adults and 3 children all year long unlimited amount of times. This includes free unlimited train rides (Normally $5/person) and discounted camel rides. Theres a few other perks that come with this as well. Another favorite perk of mine is that you can get discounted admission into multiple zoos and aquariums across the United States. Including the Portland Zoo (50% discount) There's always so many cool animals to see everytime we come here.We drove through twice while we were there and saw completely different animals both times. We got an upclose look at the rhinos which was very cool. The flamingos are a favorite of mine to see during the walk through portion and they now have red pandas to see there too. They also have a restaurant on site with pretty good food. Multiple public restrooms and a gift shop.
Great place to go with the family
Great place to visit almost like a zoo
It's a very nice place but most of the animals don't look at you. About 80% look the other way with you looking at their butts at silly as that sounds. Other than that, it's a great place.
One of our favorite things to do is go to the Safari. If you buy a yearly membership its a much better deal and then you can go as much as you want. We visit at least once a month. It's a great family day trip.
Lots of fun and attractions, saw almost all animals in same visit!
I was leary at first. Animals appear to be treated well. Many animals roam free. A good way to spend a couple of hours. An experience everyone will enjoy. Staff were helpful and knowledgeable
Very fun for entire family and well worth the price. Especially great during the week
As always, driving through the safari is fun. Feeding The deer and birds is exhilarating. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The free walk through portion is extremely lovely. We are already looking forward to our next trip.
This was such a fun stop for my family. With 3 young kids it was fun to walk around the visitor area and then eat our lunches while looking at beautiful animals. This is a great stop on a road trip and we would love to visit again!
Went here on Sep 5th with my wife and two kids (1 and 4). It was a lot of fun! We got a great deal on Groupon so if you go check there first. We started with the small walk-through section first which was surprisingly fun on it's own. Our 4 year old got to ride a camel (cost extra $10) which he really enjoyed. The walk through part featured maybe 20 animals or so and took us maybe 20 or 30 minutes to walk through. The drive-through park took about an hour and a half to complete. It was somewhat crowded at 11 am on a Sunday. I would assume that on a less crowded day you could probably drive through the park in an hour. Tickets are good for two trips through the park if you wanted to drive it a second time. Got great, up close views of the bears and zebras. They also have deer that will come up to your car and feed from your hand! The food is an extra $5. We bought two containers of food and it was a good amount. The only real drawback was when animals come near the road it gets really congested with people in cars that want to just sit there and look at them forever. Take your pictures and enjoy the animals for a moment and then keep moving so the cars behind you can see too. Not anything the park can control, just people needing to be more polite. Overall, it was a great experience and is highly recommended.
I think I enjoyed the inner village more than the drive through. On a hot day, most animals would be seeking shade which is often further from the road
First time taking my kids and they enjoyed it. Will be back again.
Had i great time
A lot of animals were out. It was a good day for viewing.
This place is really 5 stars but they do not enforce the mask wearing. Half the people admitted did not have one on or didn't wawr it properly. Definitely no social distancing. Was such a fun visit though.
So much fun. Never had a deer inside my car window before .. great place to take your kids... Had more fun then I ever did at the zoo.
Hadn't been there since 1993 . Was cool wish I seen more bears than 1 but it was a cute cub.
My family and I had a fantastic time at Wildlife Safari. We enjoyed the Cheetah Photo Encounter, walking around the Safari Village, and the Drive-thru Safari. The kids loved seeing all of the animals and the Feed Me Cups. The Cheetah Photo Encounter was the highlight of the trip! We spent half a day enjoying everything. The staff is very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. Highly recommended family excursion!
The great wildlife Safari I have seen so far. My kids had a good time and an amazing experience there. Wishing they will have more species in the future. Tip: you can save 50% by finding a online ticket. There is no T-Mobile network there. Highly recommend.
We arrived at Wildlife Safari around noon and spent close to two hours on the drive through tour. A 7- and 9- year-old were old enough to spot the animals, read the signs and appreciate the experience. Our Groupon advance purchase tickets brought the cost down. We bought 2 cups of feed (@$5.00) for the feeding experience. Remember to follow feeding directions. ONLY use food sold there and no hand-feeding! Village was open but mask use and distancing was not well followed. It wasn’t too crowded so with effort we could stay away from others. Very clean restrooms available @ the village.
It was an absolute blast. So cool how close u can get to the animals. My son was so excited when we drove around. The feed me cups I thought where too small for $5 considering how fast it went., but it was still a great time. Definitely will be going again
Lived only 2 hours away and lived in Oregon over 20 yrs, 1st time going here a couple of months ago. Had a lot of fun, clean, friendly staff. Feeding the animals in a certain area of the drive thru was a hoot!! Totally cracked us up in our cargroup. Watch out for them emu's!!
My first time there. Was pleasantly surprised at how nice it was. The animals are well cared for. The staff was friendly and courteous. I will definitely recommend to others.
Absolutely beautiful and loved it. We will be back
We love Wildlife Safari. There is a nice variety of animals to enjoy from a distance as well a as those who come up to your car. My children are eager to feed the "big" birds and antelope. We are so excited about the baby cheetahs born this year. The breeding program here at Wildlife Safari, is one of two successful breeding programs. The other one is in Africa.
We had a great time. I haven't been there since i was In the 5th grade. It was nice watching my girls love the animals
The drive through part was really nice. The animals were out but some were so far away we really couldn't see them well. The kids really enjoyed it. After we went in and walked around got to see more animals. Very nice.
We had a GREAT time!!! We did the Cheetah Stroll Encounter and it was amazing! KJ is quite the Cheetah. The handlers were pretty knowledgeable and friendly. If you haven't been to Wildlife Safari in awhile or at all, my wife and I highly recommend going and doing an Animal Encounter before driving through. Not only did Wildlife Safari provide 2 awesome pictures, one of KJ's handlers grabbed my phone and took a grip of pics for us too. My wife and I feel very lucky to have had this experience. We love the Cheetah and we have been trying to find ways we can help this beautiful, endangered animal. We will be volunteering at the Wildlife Safari in the future. Thank you Wildlife Safari for a once-in-a-lifetime experience that we will not soon forget.
I think this place is great, my grandsons love this place.
Had a small series of field trips here for a Wildlife Bio class I was taking at UCC a year or two ago. Not only did we get to learn a ton of interesting info about so many amazing creatures (both up close and personal from their caretakers/handlers, as well as in the cool little theater-auditorium building place that they have tucked away right after you pass the ticket booth upon entering - on your left. Totally non chalant building that I missed the first time or two because you'd think such a large & well kept accommodation would be better advertised for things such as private parties/field trips/etc, , but it is very nice and private and has a giant screen for using projectors/slides/etc and was very helpful and nice to learn about the animals on-screen and write some facts about them before seeing them up close and learning about them, then returning at the end back to the theater to recap what we learned about X animal(s) each day), but we got to do stuff like feed & pet the Elephants after our lesson from their personal handlers, same with the Giraffes, plus get cool caged rides around the park where you can see so many different kinds of animals and what their living conditions were like - many of which basically just roamed free all around (even into the road and around the caged vehicle transport lol) and had sheltered buildings/areas where they could return for comfy living & meals/treatment/enrichment etc, even during bad weather (It is Oregon after all. Thankfully not a part of it that ever really snows or freezes, and if it does its usually thin and short lasting - otherwise I'd be worried about the shelter situations for a few of these wild animals - as not all the animals have large or heated private buildings/living quarters to retreat to, mostly just the larger animals (elephants/giraffes/rhinoceros(?)) and the more dangerous predators of course such as the Lions, which have a somewhat complex living area due to their powerful/dangerous temperaments but still have a very decent sized outdoor fenced in area to roam around and play, as well as a nextdoor slightly smaller fenced in area with more natural cover as well as a nice shelter that I would definitely consider a good replacement for a real den, and various scattered toys/sleeping areas around so they can have pack time as well as independent time when they feel like wandering off to be alone like in the wild.) Our class actually got to enter the first fenced in lion area (with the pack of royal murder cats safely moved to the den/shelter side right before - however there was still just a chain-link fence separating us from them and if you decided to wander too close they would roar with a purpose and even jump up/on the fence suddenly as if to surprise pounce your heartbeat into the next life - which was really freaking cool actually, and thankfully I wasn't the poor student who discovered the surprise- roar- pounce of getting too close to the barrier fence, who ended up leaping backwards butt first into wet mud while screaming ???? Thanks for the heads up for sure so I didn't have to lose any man-points by being the first to discover that powerfully sudden trick, because I probably would have yelped and collapsed into the mud holding my chest, like a little girl with a heart condition ????). While in the "leisure" lion encagement, our class split off into groups and first had to find & collect specially marked droppings (nasty but interesting) so we could learn more about their diet/behavior/etc, then we split off into groups again to go find fresh paw prints in the mud and pour a Plaster of Paris mixture i believe into the "best" print we could find, and after they set & hardened we compared the differences between them and actually got to take them home! My groups "best" paw print casting out of any group from class that day is the picture I added along with this lengthy (and nostalgic) review. Unfortunately we didn't have enough plaster to make more so the youngest in our group kept our casting, it was still amazing though!
Awsome place for family fun ????
A must see. Alittle expensive but so worth it. A giraffe not more then 4 ft away from the car eating grass. Got to feed red panda twins. So very cute. Wonderful place, children will love it.
So awesome.
me and my famliy went there yesterday and we like it from the ostridge from feeding the animals to lions we liked it
Amazing! It was quite an astonishing place huge wide open pastures, hills littered with trees and wildlife all of which looks happy and healthy. the park was in pristine condition and plenty of food all over the park for the wildlife to enjoy large ponds nice mud holes. Such a diverse population! The staff were helpful and friendly was willing to help and accommodate my residents who have special needs. We have an annual pass here its great!
Went with the family had a great time, last time I was here was 28 year's ago
Absolutely love this place, so fun and can be a totally different experience each time based on animal activity. Later morning to early afternoon in the cooler months when not raining seems to bring most of the critters out and about. Worth the drive, worth the price.
Our family had a great time. We went in the middle of the day and I was worried we wouldn't see much of the animals cuz of that but I was wrong! We got very close to many animals and things were done in a very safe manner. I would highly recommend to my friends.
Seeing the animals roaming more free was amazing. It is so much better than zoos where the enclosures are much smaller. Also, the Safari Grill is amazing; best onion rings I've ever had
It was so cool to see the animals
Fabulous day with my granddaughter! I highly recommend it. So much to do and see!
Really fun family activity. Kids (teens even!) all loved it. Lots of different animals, and you can go back through several times and see different animals. Feeding the deer and emus is always a good time. The "village" areas has good exhibits, a petting zoo, gift shop, snacks, restrooms, etc.
Never fails to amaze at how wonderful the animals are and the experience the kids get to have.
I’ve been through the park once about 2 years ago and it was great. I recently inquired about getting some animal made art. I was called back and we had a painting created by a lion picked out within 30 minutes of the first call, payment about 15 minutes after that and the painting arrived to my house 22 hours after I paid for it. I live 3 hours away and I’m not sure how they managed overnighting me some art for such a reasonable price (I think shipping was 9.85). I highly recommend this place to anyone! Also, the emu’s are terrifying but also extremely fun to feed.
I have to admit that I was very skeptical before coming here. But my wife as she usually does convinced me and I really enjoyed myself. The animals were actually very entertaining and when you do the drive you get really close to the animals and some of them will even come up to your window which calls for a very great time. I would definitely recommend. You can also do an encounter which I would definitely recommend as well it is worth the money and it also goes to a great cause!
Awesome
Just went there and oh my goodness, this is what all.. Don't wanna call it a zoo.. 'animal viewing places' should be. The animals are obviously loved, well treated, respected, plenty of room to run, and being kept for all the right reasons. And being able too see them from so close.. Perfect! Just don't let the ostrige stick it's beak in the car, those things will rob you >< Seriously though, worth the drive and the support
The free Walk through with the kids was awesome they loved seeing & feeding the animals. Truly an awesome atmosphere and place to be with the family!????
The staff was amazing, the experience was one I will never forget.
It was educational and a great day hope to br able to go again great place for kids
First time being here. Best family experience. Definitely suggest! You can drive through TWICE!!
Decently priced for the experience. Some of the enclosures were a little smaller than expected for a "safari." They say that they are the largest cheetah breeding facility in North America yet we couldn't see any except the one in the village. That makes it hard to support the cause when you can't see what you are supporting. The dog kennels outside of the village are a brilliant idea. They should have someone manning that area in case of emergencies though. Overall it was a good experience and something everyone should try at least once.
So great! Glad I got there before it was too hot though! The animals were enjoying the cool tempos before the heat too.
Great place to spend the day with kids! Tons of things to see, and do. We really have a great time every time we go. The drive through generally takes 60-90 minutes, but there is a lot to see in Safari Village as well. There are a bunch of animal exhibits, a restaurant, gift shop, train rides, camel rides, and more. Great place for kids!
Disgusting display of vile, self-serving humans being "entertained". Speciesism at it's finest.
Awesome! Lots of things for the kids to do, old or young. Drive through was long drive with good variety. Animals will come up to your car so you can feed them.
Always love seeing all the animals ❤ took the grandkids they always have a blast there!
A surprising, sureal trip to Africa in the most unexpected place! My friend took me here out of the blue, and it was wonderful. This park is also on the leading edge of Cheetah breeding, and participates in the wildlife survival and endangered species programs. The animals are well acclimatized to people driving through, and are obviously well cared for. I HIGHLY recommend taking a trip here yourself. ????❤️????
The lion encounter was amazing!
I consider this a once-in-lifetime experience because of how truly heartwarming and miraculous the experience was. Just moved up from so cal and I took my 22 year old daughter with me. Love that it’s a natural setting for these beautiful animals. And the fact that you get to feel like you are so close. They are so well cared for. We will turn that once-in-a-lifetime experience so frequent visits!
A great time for our family seeing animals up close as they roamed around. Enjoyed the walkthrough portion and exhibits. Overall a very fun time for our kids and us!
Fun time!
The walkthrough is free and you can see lots of cool animals. My seven year old loves to train, and animals. The drive thru is worth the membership. The lines are long with the pandemic as of June 2021.
I recently visited this Safari with friends and was one of the best places I visited in recent months. Especially for kids, they would love to watch the animals roaming all around our vehicles and the deer feeding was really amazing. Loves it.
GREAT friendly staff always ready to help, this is a drive through zoo so you stay in your car looking at the animals up close and personal !! They even have a walk in section for extra animals. Spacious gift shop, a cafe, and snack areas for all. Had a good experience here
Had an awesome time with my girl & grandbabies at wild life safari
Going early when they first open is a treat when going thru the drive portion, most of the wildlife is close to the road and still walking up.
Toured park, then saw Lion King Jr put on by UACT. Wonderful day.
This is awesome! Rhinos, all kinds of critters! Go early when it's cooler, they have a walk thru that's free! It has a concession stand with pretzels and cotton candy... and little monkeys... lol
Just as magical as I remember. On our drive there it was rainy and dark but as we pulled up to the front Gates the clouds cleared and the sun shined her brilliant rays upon us. It was my son 6 yrs old my husband and I. My sons first time..... and he was soooooooooo amazed! All the animals running free he said. He loved driving around all of the big cats, zebras and gazelles, and all of the birds. Had a big old happy smiling face when we left. Can't wait to return!!!!!????????????????????
Wonderful place to see the wild animals roaming free! Love it!
Awesome
Great way to break up a trip. Really fun and you get to see a lot of different animals!
Great spot for the kids. The feeding experience was spendy for what you get. Could have given our group two buckets of lettuce. We definitely would come back.
I loved Wildlife Safari. Being able to drive through an entire zoo is way more comfortable for me, and just as cool as a regular zoo, if not more so. We had a heard of bison (with their baby bison) pass over the road right in front of us. A giraffe walked right by my window and in front of my car. And we also got to feed deer/birds right from our window, they were so friendly and adorable- that was definitely my favorite aspect!
Good option for a family outing driving through the park.
We went there cause a friend recommended it so went. Drove from Albany an took about an 1hr. The drive was peaceful an it was nice an warm out. When we got the we were so excited we might as well been at disney land. We drove right up to the ticket holder an were in within seconds..the addrenaline is high now in the car now. We were told that if a rhino rhino comes at us we need to roll up our windows!? Anyways it was fun an kid loved it. Very friendly creatures an well kept up. Only thing that got me was the emu. I panicked when that thing stuck his head in the car..felt like i was in jurassic park for a second an was about to get my face ripped off. Would total do it again Great place an love all the animals
What an amazing place!
Our second time here, always a great time.
Made reservations and paid, in November, to take my sisters to have an encounter with the elephants. Spoke with a woman on the phone. She said it was about an hour long and we each get to touch an elephant. The next day we leave about 6am for the long trek to the Safari. About 5 hours into our trip we got a call saying they had to cancel as there was a medical emergency with an elephant. Devastated for the elephant we drove home. During that call I asked if we could hold our reservation instead of getting a refund so when they were able to resume, we could come. Got that call Thursday. I called my sisters, agreed we’d go the next day. I called back, confirmed we would be there Friday (yesterday). During each of those phone calls, it was NEVER COMMUNICATED TO ME THAT THE ENCOUNTER I PAID FOR HAD CHANGED COMPLETELY. It was NOT what I was told. We didn’t get to touch an elephant. It was about 10 minutes of some basic elephant facts, watch an elephant “paint” (they can’t see what they’re painting) for about 10 seconds followed by a sales pitch for incredibly expensive, previously done elephant paintings and a pitch to support conservation. I paid $120 for 15 minutes plus $66 to drive thru the Safari, plus gas (for 2 separate trips 5 hours from my home) and everything else. There were 4 cars stopped to watch and listen to everything we saw and heard...we could have done the same and paid NOTHING EXTRA. I expressed my frustration. Was met with a very curt response and a back turned to me walking back to her office. I did this as a Christmas gift to my sisters. I have cancer. I don’t know how many more things I get to celebrate with them. I was told when I paid for this what we would get. We got basically nothing of what I was told. This place is a SCAM! I waited until today to write this, so I could let my frustration ebb. It has not. I fell for a BAIT AND SWITCH SCAM perpetrated by the Wildlife Safari. This was supposed to be the highlight of my sisters life. We were all so excited. Complete and utter let down. My sister was devastated and I get angrier and angrier about it with every passing second. If they had any decency they would have refunded my money. They don’t have any decency. Waste of money. They shouldn’t be able to do this to people. If they treat people this way, who knows how the animals are really being treated. Go to a zoo. Go to an animal shelter. Go to a farm. DON’T GO TO THE WILDLIFE SAFARI!!!
What a very enjoyable experience. A great way to get away from every day life and what is going on in the world today. An easy way to get out and enjoy and social distance with out being stressed. This place is a little gem for those who love wildlife and the great outdoors. So many animals to enjoy. You can take your time driving through. No hurry. There is plenty of room for those who don't like to stop and look to pass by. They do have a little pull off with vending machines and porta potties and you can get out and stretch your legs and just look around and enjoy the view. It is well kept, staff/employees in every look out tower watching! All the staff/employees were very friendly and smiled with their eyes and waved. The gift shop was nice and had plenty to choose from. The area you are able to walk around and enjoy the animals. Plenty for children to do. Don't be in a hurry. Don't forget snacks and drinks so you can just enjoy the drive.
Amazing wildlife park. Animals are well taken care of and very fun and educational for kids. Burgers are top notch as an added bonus. I would recommend the animal encounters. Been to several and worth every penny
What an experience! You can't miss this!
One of the few things to do in roseburg. I prefer the walk thru but the drive is also nice. The year pass is Defiently worth it if you live in douglas county and have kids. I love getting to see and feed the animals up close and see how well the staff cares for the animals. You can see they are cared for and not exploited. I love this place and recommend over and over at the hotel i work for.
Love the animals, love the safari drive through experience!
We had an amazing family day at Wildlife Safari. Highly recommend fun for all.
Drive thru is a bit expensive, but the walk thru is completely free & great for the kids
Loved loved loved this place! Great fun for the whole family. Just like being in a real African safari. I can't wait to take my granddaughter again!
First time visiting and had a fantastic experience! We will be back to explore again soon!
Fun and great love going there
Lion encounter-- FABULOUS. FEEDING THE ???? LIONS WAS BOTH SCARY AND EXCITING. STAFF IS VERY INFORMATIVE &TELLS YOU ALL ABOUT THEM. THANK YOU WILD LIFE SAFARI.
Great value. Worth the time
Great place to spend a few hours, whether it’s a stop along the way or the destination of your trip. We seem to somehow have bad timing and miss most of the shows, but the ones we’ve seen have been entertaining and educational. The drive around the property looking for animals is fun. Some people get frustrated when trying to spot them all, but seeing them on the range is better than just seeing them in a concrete cage. We’ll be back again.
