I love this zoo! Even the ferry trip there is so nice. Not sure if morning is the best time to visit, but when we went there early, it seemed all the animals were active and wide awake. We even got to see 3 tigers up close. There's also tree top activities for brave kids and adults. We bought tickets online which gave us small discounts.

Fabulous day outing for young and old alike. Beautiful grounds well maintained. Animals look well fed and extremely comfortable in large enclosures. Farmyard and learning exhibits. Lots of open spaces, safe for children to roam. Cable car direct to ferry. Found the shop and café a bit under staffed. Long wait for food.

Visited last August 2019 The zoo is well maintained and animals are well taken care of! Great view of Sydney! You'll need to ride a ferry to get here and travel time is less than an hour. They offer different packages which is I think have reasonable prices. I like the Sky Safari entry through cable car! Toilets are clean but the pantry gets a bit crowded during lunch time which is normal for every place that is.

Always enjoyable, lots to see. Invest in a zoo friends annual pass if you can its worth it. The only entrance open at the moment is the top gate and the skyway was not working during our visits.

Great place for anyone who loves animals. Taronga zoo is quite big so there is a lot of walking, thus not suitable for people who can't walk long distance. Seal show and bird show are very enjoyable. Please don't forget to wear a hat, put sunscreen on and bring a bottle of water. You can refill drinking water at the zoo.

Amazing views of Sydney Harbour and a wide selection of native and international animals. Beautifully set on the side of a lush hill making many parts of the zoo feel private. Bring your walking shoes! The food isn't great however. Recommend bringing a picnic. And save some money for the great native stuffed animals in the gift shop!

Great place to bring people of all ages. Every time I go to Taronga Zoo Sydney I always have a good experience. The animals are always happy and enclosures clean. Definitely worth the money. If visiting frequently I suggest getting zoo friends as it is much more viable. Overall a great experience where you will see something new every time.

Even with the battles of restrictions and covid. The staff and volunteers at Taronga zoo made sure everyone had an enjoyable experience. Bird show is always a hit. I can't wait for their new amphibian exhibit coming in a couple of years!!!

First experience should be good but not repeating trip. Expected some hilly walk and waiting time especially for the birds and seals show. Food and drinks isn't cheap so best to bring yours. Cable car provide great view.

I love Taronga Zoo! I used to take my son here aften when he was a child. Today I came here again since 2017. I was so delighted to see the Zoo has been transformed into a new zoo! Great grain enclosures for lions, tigers, elephants... and the zoo is now also a beautiful garden with wonderful walks and lots of interesting activities. Staff of the zoo are amazing. They must have been excited to see the returning of their visitors. Today was a very busy. Many families with kids and grannies. Everyone was happy, with big smiling face. People were nice and polite. I have had a great day. I loved it so much I became a zoo friend today. Taronga zoo, I adore you. I will see you again soon.

We had fun on the cable car, the views are excellent and entry is not too expensive. Enclosures are good without being outstanding, while the experience was a little compromised by Covid rules I found other zoos in Australia are a much better experience of the animals. The food was really poor, none of the options looked great.

Had a good day, quite a few animals that we had not seen elsewhere. Staff were friendly and helpful. Husband enjoyed the gondola ride. Did not try the food as very crowded. The lower entrance was closed but there was a complimentary bus to the main entrance. Do recommend the map otherwise hard to navigate around areas.

Its great for staying over at the retreat. It allows to enter the zoo anytime while the zoo is open. From sky rail to the bottom and using ferry services to go anywhere around the harbors, bays, beaches. Great time for kids and and young family.

Visited today. Comparing with Melbourne zoo, I don't find it any special. While in my experience, Melbourne zoo offers more attractions and new. One positive, u can ride cable car for free. Also u can experience lovely view of Sydney but zoo experience is not exciting.

Might be due to covid, but the visit was average. Have had much better experience when I visited several years ago. The giraffe, tiger and elephant were good and so was the seal show. The bird show probably would be good too. We went to one talk where just the names were given of the Koalas and that's it. We didn't go to any other after that disappointment. Try the sky safari - lasts only a few minutes but a nice experience and you see the Sydney City skyline. Missed going to the kangaroo area and bottom of the zoo. Biggest disappointment was the food though. Bring your own food - there are great places for picnics. The food they have are bad but expensive - a ton of chips and very dry burghers, plain burrito and very thin fish.

Taronga Zoo Sydney is it the most beautiful location set on the hillside with breathtaking views. Despite the animals captive, they do a great job trying to provide an j retesting habitat for the animals and it’s so amazing to see them up close. We got an annual pass so we can come back and spend more time exploring.

Honestly disappointed at the amount of animals not in their enclosures. Views are great and it was a nice walk. Price is fine but don't expect to see any animals you may have come for. Also .....no sunscreen for sale? Not like skin cancer is an issue in Australia or anything ....

Views over Sydney are tremendous. Animal exhibits leave a lot to be desired. Bush Turkey's galore but can't say any animal enclosure was a hit. Poor form for a World Class exhibit. It's an Aussie embarrassment

A great place to bring kids and spend a day. Plenty of animals in open areas, birds, reptiles, African animals, Asian elephant and more. Facilities are good. Food is available in limited options but easy to find something you like. We loved the tiger enclosure, seal show and the bird show. We booked in advance but it was busy. For the shows there are queues and some waiting but you would get a good spot as the areas are big. Best is to take the ferry from city. We took the car and it was a long ride into car park and out.

Taronga Zoo has come so far and it’s an absolute credit to the Trust tasked with guiding it. I LOVED the tiger exhibit - although the seal exhibit really could do with an upgrade. I also love the return & earn and being able to donate the proceeds of drink bottles to the zoo! Such a wonderful experience (even with COVID restrictions)!

Although I couldn't see the lion and cassowary, I'm happy to rate 5 stars for this fantastic zoo. Wish to have a chance to watch the seal shows! Recommend to buy the ticket in advance, take the sky safari and walk down. Better if you take a paper map and plan the walk cus personally, it's a bit easy to get off the main track. Me and my friends didn't stop for lunch, just chill walked. Totally took around 3.30hrs.

This is a zoo with various animals to watch. You can stand on one side of the glass and the Tigers walk to the other side. Only a glass is between you and the Tigers. Even the Lions have a vast area to walk around. Right atmosphere has been created for the animals. Watch the monkeys climbing on ropes, elephant wandering, Zebras and Giraffes and beautiful water and Sydney city views. Take your kids over there, they will love it.

The facilities are good. You will certainly get parking, so do not worry about it. You may plan for a complete picnic day as the place has excellent Lunch, Coffee etc. The animals are very much lively and there is a good possibility that you can see all of them at some hour of the day. It is a good place to visit, especially for families, children, group outing day. You can spend whole day there, but you can also watch everything there within 4-5 hours. Car park is free within 90 mins and 22$ for whole day. The ticket is 49$ for adults, concession is 39$, plus discount if you book online. Group tickets are much cheaper. Have a good day there!
