Amazing park year round. Snowy pines to colorful landscapes. Many lakes to go for a dip and bird and small animals watching at its best. Lots of activities... from swimming and canoeing, to hiking and biking. Plenty of cabins and camping opportunities. Find your adventure!

Camped in Pog Lake Campgound the last week of August to first week in September. Great time of the year for no bugs and still warm weather! Cool nights to sleep like a baby after a fire. So many trails to hike and explore, Kayaking and paddleboarding, and fishing. A must do trip for everyone who wants to get away and rewind.

Booked the day use in advance and visited the park on a Friday. The day use was sold out when we arrived (so we were glad that we booked online in advance)We visited the highway 60 corridor and no words can do justice to the natural beauty …

Our favorite and always an enjoyable experience whenever we visit in the fall season. A must see place for all!

Beautiful and mesmerizing fall colours all through the route to the provincial park and more colours on highway 60 in the provincial park. You can buy tickets online to save the time in the queue. Or if you don’t want to get down the car …

If you have not visited this park, you have not experienced true Canada. Hundreds of small and large lakes with excellent trails and campgrounds. A must visit place

This is my favourite of the 340 provincial parks in Ontario! Algonquin is also the oldest in this province. My sweetie and I took a day trip here even though it's a 3-hour one way drive. We wanted to see the autumn colours of the forest canopy; plus or minus a few days could make or break the viewing pleasure. General Note: Algonquin Provincial Park via Hwy 60 is 56 km from the West Gate (marker 0 km) to the East Gate (marker 56 km). Attractions, lakes & trails are identified by huge road signs. We purchased a $21 Vehicle Day Pass online to visit and use the provincial park facilities. It was let's go from there. There was the West Gate entrance. Over a 7.5 hour period, our adventure included enjoyment of: Two Rivers Store & Cafe, Two Rivers Trail, Spruce Bog Boardwalk, Algonquin Logging Museum, Brewer Lake, Magasin Lake Opeongo Store, and Lookout Trail. After a beautiful, terrific, fun-packed day, the trip home began at the East Gate exit. Heed the call of nature! If even for a day.

Spent a week camping and explored the park as much as possible! Great hiking, kayak/canoeing and fishing. Had an amazing time!

The staff here are great! Helpful and informative. Visitor centre is amazing with all the information about different animals you can find in the park. I enjoyed the art gallery. I love that you can rent canoes etc. and have them delivered right to your park. Will definitely be going again as we just barely touched surface of all the paddling and hiking opportunities. I have to say I love the fact at this park they have a Park Paper that is very informative. And when I got home I posted a picture of a bug on their website and they got back to me as to what it is. Thought that was very nice that they took the time to do that.

This park has nice spots for every activity., Canoe, camping, Beach, trails, wildlife, and visit centers. There is nice restaurants next to canoe rental stop., The parking staff is very knowledge and helpful. Almost every spot has detailed information available as sign boards and booklets.. I highly recommend this park.

Beautiful , very big , lots of options and natural things to see. From baron canyon to lots of trails and places to swim. You will need to walk a lot that is for sure. The place I have in my pics for swimming is 2 hours walk almost for one way . The canyon is an easy walk not that hard. You have to visit it is a beautiful place. Lots of eagles you can see them and hear them all over the canyon. Take with you food and water. Good luck enjoy the place

Hubby and I LOVE this park. We came here a few years ago and asked the Rangers help us pick locations for our wedding photos, they came out just perfect. We've gone hiking on lots of the trails to be met with beautiful views, all of the hikes are absolutely worth it. We've gone backwoods camping a few times and it was the most peaceful, relaxing, intimate trip; best trip we've ever been on. We hunt for moose everytime we're here and once we saw a mother and her baby! We bought kayaks and are looking forward to portaging next year. Last weekend we went to a campsite and it was so relaxing, the sky was so clear we could see Mars, the milky way, and countless more stars. There's so much to do, so many places to go and see, we'll be coming here forever.

Best place to see fall colurs in canada

It is my favorite park of all times. My favorite place. It has number of trails and most of them are with lookout points. I have camped couple of times. It is great an experience. Park is massive, so if you really want to experience the park it will take couple of visits.

We hiked 4 trails in the park. Track and Tower trail, Spruce Bog boardwalk, Beaver Pond trail, and Logging Museum trail. They were pretty nice and there were no bugs. The last half of Track and Tower trail was very muddy. The visitor center was nice. Washrooms in the visitor center were not very clean. The trees were displaying beautiful colors of fall with red, orange, yellow, and green leaves. The drive on highway 60 corridor was nice. We will be back next year to experience camping and try the remaining trails.

The western welcome centre parking lot is well lit and plowed. The roads are mainly clear but snow tires are recommended in the winter. The washrooms are clean and heated. The staff where really nice and friendly. Wish they sold food or had a food truck since there are no restaurants open in the winter in the park or in Dwight.

Algonquin never disappoints (although a water issue closed the Portage Store for a day and a missed my traditional end of trip breakfast, oh well). Well maintained sites, clean trails and portages. Quiet evenings, abundant wildlife. It was a treat this year, the first in 40, to have wardens visit our site to check our permit. Goes to show how hard the park is working for us.

If you are looking for a quick getaway from Toronto. If you are craving a bit of peace and quiet. Algonquin park is a great place to go.

Hayley Schmidt

The Algonquin park has the easily accessible trails and wide range of trails from easy to difficult. The food spot within the park has some best foods to try. Of course, so many ice cream flavours to feast after hiking.

We couldn't have wished for a more perfect ✔ camping experience! We spent the night at Rock Lake. The amenities were spotless and well-kept, and we especially liked the hot showers! We had a great day at the beach and on the lake kayaking. Some of the tastiest meals to try may be found at the park's food stand. Detailed information is given as sign boards and brochures at almost every location.

Christina Chenard

Awesome place for visit during fall. Good for photography during golden hours. Not very crowded and the trail we went was about 2 km single way to the top. Make sure to check weather as we went to watch sunrise in the morning and unfortunately it was raining and got all foggy.

Amjad Mir

Beautiful place for canoe out-tripping. Amazing scenery, wildlife. A favorite for our family.

Huma Mehmud

We couldn't have asked for a better camping trip! we stayed at Rock Lake. We had a few rainy nights but nothing tarps didn't fix! The campground was super clean and quiet too. Saw so much wildlife. Explored Rock Lake with our kayaks and went for a Hike at Booths Rock trail. Great Experience!

Anupama Joshi

Beautiful park and trails. Fall color of Highway 60 corridor is amazing.

Beautiful country, great camping and hiking trails. Have enjoyed both interior and car camping. Trails and all camping sites are well maintained. Always a chance to see a moose or if you are ready for it a bear. Park can get a little crowded. If you really want to get away from the crowd there are some beautiful and peaceful interior lakes if you don't mind to portage and canoe.

Went to Barron Canyon Road km Marker 11 to do some shooting. Honestly the place is a disaster and needs to be cleaned up, but other than that it's a fun little range. Anyone interested in a cleanup of this place let me know, maybe we can spearhead it.

Cécile Duhamel

It is a beautiful place. If you are a first time camper, do take extra layers of clothing because it gets cold at night. I would also recommend head lights, led lights for tent, bug repellent, after bite etc. Over all it was a lot of fun, kids really enjoyed it.

Pallavi Kartik

Loved the park in December...winter camping is excellent in Mew Lake camping sites as well as the Host and staff .. showers , washrooms and laundry available as well ..

Nicole Rouse

We had a lovely experience camping at Canisbay lake site. The facilities were clean and well maintained and we appreciated the hot showers especially! We enjoyed the beach and canoeing on the lake. Canoes were rented from Algonquin Outfitters for $40/day. Great way to spend time with the family while exploring the outdoors! Will definitely be returning to explore other areas of the park.

Shaun Takata

Great provincial park for camping and other outdoor activities like hiking, biking, fishing and water sports. Great views for autumn colours in October. If you want to disconnect, choose campsites farther from the highway as there's a cellphone coverage.

Nick

Super! --- Such variety of landscapes and views to take in. You need many days and even then, it's just a drop in the bucket of what the Park offers. Get the Annual Pass so you can repeat. Trails of all levels of difficulties. Enjoy!

Viji Selvakumar

Such an amazing park, it looks beautiful, such good memories from this place.

Zee Man

Awesome place to relax and enjoy nature. All kinds of hikes available for different circumstances and the reserve is so wonderful!
