Nice sized, groomed beach with few reeds in the water, which makes for a refreshing dip. Views of nearby cottages are really lovely. Huge field (used for the sheepdog trials) to run your dogs - they aren't allowed on the beach though! Ample free parking. Washrooms with changerooms (a little rough but serviceable). Play structure. Volleyball net. A few picnic tables. Lovely for a summer afternoon - during the week is best time to go! It's always amazing to me how few Kingstonians head out here when it's only 20 minutes from downtown.

Love this park! A (usually) clean beach, nice playground equipment for kids, huge open picnic areas and it's FREE. Only reason I rated it 4 stars right now is due to the clay they left on the beach this time. Usually it's pristine sand but this time it had a layer of very hard dried clay on half of the beach =/ Also if there was a chip wagon or food stand it would be supreme.

We arrived around 9 am, and were the firat ones there. We had the place to ouraelves until around 10:30. After that, because it is a very small beach, it get quite crowded very quickly. The beach area was great for our toddlers. The water is nice and shallow, and there is a playground right next to the beach. Although the sand in the water was very nice, the sand is not well maintained out of the water. There were holes that had been dug by others all over the beach from previous days, and the sand eas very compacted. The bathrooms were also not very clean. Overall, we had a great time. Show up early if you want to beat the crowd.

A great place to go for a walk, hangout at the beach, go for a swim, and go for a boat ride! The McLaughlin Woodworking museum is there and you can see all of the old tools that were used back in the 1800's and you can ask the curator of the museum any questions you like :-).

We use this as a stop-off point between Toronto and Ottawa, and our dog appreciates it. Good human bathroom and a great beach. Scenic and green. I've yet to meet anyone there who isn't nice. Plenty of space for the dogs to run around and there is no dirt or Sandy Patches from overuse. Whoever maintains this dog park does a fantastic job and must really love dogs.

Great place to go for a picnic or bbq and lovely huge fenced in area for your dog(s) to run off leash. This area is about 8 acres in size so lots of room if you have a shyer dog. It was my first time here. I really liked it, it was bigger than I expected. The beach and the grassy areas were quite spacious. There were a few picnic tables to be had. We were lucky and were able to snag one under the shade of a tree. We had a great day there and the kids had a blast.

Park is huge, at eight acres. Lots of room if your dog likes to run. Grass is regularly cut and the fields are lined with natural products to reduce ticks. Unfortunately the forest side. There is a small rocky swimming area for dogs here, too bad there isn’t a small beach down from the larger people beach. The park could use a few more trees as the sun can be pretty intense. Overall it’s an excellent park for the right dogs.

This park/beach is like a hidden gym. It's got great amenities and we've never seen it busy. Best of all, they recently added a charging station for EV / PHEV cars. So now I can go and let the kids blow some steam while my car gets energized ????????

We found this very small but exceptionally nice beach ???? while we searching for a full day fun for kids. You can play basketball ???? and beach ???? volleyball ???? as well as full scale play ground for kids under 10 years. You can have ton of walk in lakeshore. It is just 30 min of Kingston. The facilities ( washroom, equipments and others are super clean and well maintained). Highly recommend to visit.

We love Grass Creek park. There are many many picnic tables and grills to BBQ on. There is a large play structure for kids. There are flush toilet washrooms that are fairly clean. The beach is a little small but there is so much space you don't really notice. This park hosts events on Canada Day and the annual Sheep Dog Trials in August with vendors, food kiosks etc. Bring your own food for regular days because there is no permanent food vendors near by. Also the McLaughlin Woodworking Museum is here if you want to get out of the sun.

Grass Creek is a great spot for dog lovers and families. There us a huge (multiple acres) open area dog park that is great for any furry friends. One detriment to the dog park is it lacks any real wooded area and there isn't much shade. That said therearea few spots that trees provide some cover for hot days. There is also multiple areas away from the pedestrian beach that lend themselves well to letting the dogs get into the water (though this is technically not allowed, we've never seen anyone have a problem). The beach is nice and big and I have never seen it over crowded. The water is shallow out for quite a ways which is great for kids too. Speaking of kids, there are some fun play steuctures and great shaded areas with picnic benches for those with families. Currently the changeroom/bathroom is being reconstruct3d and I'm sure it will be great once done (prior to the rebuild they were showing their age). All and all Grass Creek is a great family spot and the best dog park anywhere we've been in Eastern Ontario!

We went to the beach here and it’s a non-smoking beach for anyone who does smoke it can kinda be a hassle. But otherwise the water was spectacular and the scenery was beautiful. There were a lot of kids with their families in the day, but I’m sure that in the evening it would’ve died down.

A Kingston East hidden gem for some free family fun and an opportunity to cool things off on a hot Summers day. A wonderful swimming location on the outskirts of Kingston East with plenty of green space and some well maintained playground equipment for the children or even an opportunity to have a last minute or planned picnic outing. Went there during this past Summer (Y-2013) on a few separate occasions since returning to Kingston and had a swim or two at this sand bottom beach area which is located on the St. Lawrence River. It was nice to see so many persons enjoying this Park Area's offer and it was still not overcrowded. A long time since a visit was made to this Park and as a Child I can remember taking a Bus there and back to attend Day Camp during the week.

Grass Creek Park has everything you need for an escape from the city; there is a play park for the children, picnic tables, park benches and plenty of mature trees for shade. Parking is close to the beach area and there are washrooms on site. We were travelling during the week so it wasn’t very full but I’m sure warm weekends the actual beach area gets pretty busy. There is loads of grassy land to set up a lawn chair and enjoy the warm weather. The grounds were very clean and well groomed. The washrooms were well stocked with soap and paper but given it’s outside there are few insects - spiders which is to be expected. Get out there and enjoy a relaxing day!

Would avoid. Tick central. We were recommended as a great place for a leisurely time with dogs. We found the place wasnt up to safe standards for dogs. The off leash area gates were in need of repairs. People had no control of there dogs or reguard for others. Insects and ticks galore. Wont be back , will avoid

Cool beach, varied wildlife, and lots of rocks and stuff to climb on but the best bits are, unfortunately, on private property. Restrooms are open from Victoria day to Thanksgiving. This place would have scored higher but the only garbage can in the area was so far beyond full it was repulsive.

Beach is ok, grounds are decent...need some vendors there on a regular basis and someone needs to clean the washrooms once in a while. They shouldn't be filled with cobwebs all the time. Just grab a broom.
