You must have seen that it reaches an opinions average is very positive, and it is founded on a very high number of scores, so we can think that the valuation is very faithful. If people have bothered to evaluate when they are pleased, is that it works.
You know that we do not usually stop to place tatings when they are good and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or incidence...
This Zoo is classified in the category of Zoo.
Great zoo. Deceptively big. Great chances to get up close to the animals
Not worth the full price at the moment. So many interesting places are closed, even outdoors. In most places you can see no animals. Lemurs even though they are outdoors are closed too. Giraffes and zebras are not available for observation as the Zoo is rebuilding smth (they didn't have time during so many lockdowns?). Also, some little nice outdoors corners of the zoo are closed no reason why.
Not bad but the girl on the gate was quite abrupt, we had a 20% off leaflet which our hotel gave us but she wouldn’t accept it!! The 2 gentlemen were very pleasant however. I’m not sure I would come again though. We are over 60 and the 20% would have been helpful and why give them out if you won’t accept them.
It was nice time to be in London zoo. I surprised why it’s not organized very well. Nothing special.
I love going to zoos. This zoo was really great. They have three main paths that lead you through the park with minimal overlap. It really helped!
We had a great day out at the zoo. I had been 7 years ago and didn't rate it, but was so glad we returned. Kids had an excellent time, lots to see and do. Bring a towel as the kids loved cooking off in the splash park.
Fantastic family day out. Even my teenage boys loved it. London zoo always a winner all round.
No wait
The sign is very confusing, that's the worst part and you have to paid 5£ for a map which is ridiculous. The tiny giants bit was really interesting. The walking in bits where you can walk in with animals like spiders, birds, monkeys was great. Coming back to the layout they have arrows to fallow but you can't really trust them as you will miss the half of exposition. My advice take a good picture of big map next to entrance!
I enjoyed myself so much here with my son. We enjoyed the Zoo a lot. Female lion really put on a show then left us in a jiffy!
Beautiful zoo. Well spaced out and a lot of facilities around the zoo. Spent the whole day going round. Such a wonderful place and the staff are beyond helpful
Great day out for the kids there is so much to see, you can also pet some animals
Good to finally visit the Famous London Zoo!! Was surprised that the signage was not better as some animals could be overlooked without some good navigation skills. Some exhibits looked very tired and needed upgrades. Would only re visit if more investment was found to use the space better. On a plus note the Penguins, Monkeys and Tiger where all highlights and did not disappoint ????
A day at ZSL! A great day! The butterfly is born without a mouth and dies of starvation after 1 week!
We had a lovely day at London zoo, our Autistic Daughter absolutely loved it, the only downside was the Lions part was closed and the prices for a coffee was rather pricey. I would recommend London zoo to family and friends ❤
Lovely variety of animals, including some we've not seen elsewhere (okapi, sloth, pygmy hippos, vultures), lots of walk through areas and easy to follow routes. Also easy to find. However we're sadly not able to rate this place as anything other than average. We were disappointed to see some animals - namely the giraffes and zebras- in concrete paddocks with very little enrichment. The staff we met, particularly at food and drink outlets, were unsmiling, short with us and we frankly felt like an unwelcome nuisance. Prices inside the park were daylight robbery, appreciate it's London but £2 for a 330ml can of water?! Disgraceful. There was also the issue of people which we've found in London attractions in general - little respect for personal space and queue jumping. All in all, we enjoyed seeing the animals, but were unfortunately underwhelmed by the zoo as a whole.
Must do if you have kids and visiting London. We arrived at 10am and left at 5pm and still didn't manage everything. Pricey as you'd expect, tickets for a family of 4 were £100 and 2 kids and 2 adult burger and chips were £45 but very …
Enjoyed our day out at London Zoo. Be ready for a lot of walking - it's pretty spread out - but really accessible for pushchairs. Good range of animals to see, although few too many birds for my liking. Really liked the more interactive areas, like the leaf cutter ant display, walk through spider and butterfly zones, and others. Rather expensive for a family of 5, but overall worth it for a day out.
Very good just wish I got to see more animals I arrived around 2pm definitely need to get there for around 11 am or 12.00 am and book feeding times online first
We had an absolutely awesome day (and night) at the zoo! From the moment we got there, to the moment we left the next day, it was amazing! The food was truly Superb! We stayed over in the zoo. We were really well looked after by all the team! The experience we had included 2 days to wander round the zoo at our own pace, a gorgeous dinner, 3 private tours after the zoo had closed and the truly awesome experience of hearing Banu asserting his authority over Regents Park! The staff truly went above and beyond in helping me make our visit that little bit extra special! The extras they included certainly made it a memorable experience! The huts were extremely comfortable, although, for my own personal preference the bed could have been a bit firmer, but it was comfortable nonetheless. The guides helped us with our luggage and were able to store it for us while we enjoyed the zoo! One of the highlights was definitely feeding the penguins and the Warthogs! I would highly recommend the zoo and the lodge experience to everyone! Thank you again for all your help!
Awesome zoo experience. Great value student tickets. It was nice that not all the animals were caged off like the sloths, lemurs and squirrel monkeys. Really improved the experience not just seeing them in a cage. Highly recommended.
I expected a lot but it's not that very good . May be due to restrictions everything was not opened but I gave seen 1000 times better zoo than this one . Just as an outing to view its fine . Kids will enjoy it.
Proud to see the Indian Lion they kept here in London. Please have plenty of time to see the whole of the zoo species

Tickets must be bought online in advance, the signal on site is not good and there is no manual ticket window. The overall experience is very good, you can see a lot of animals. play 2 hour+ The lion hides well, I didn't find it. Gorillas are also rare. It is recommended to replace ice cream with smoothies and cold drinks, so that sales will be better. Very suitable for relaxation, because animals are not as complicated as humans. By the way, I feel Pumbaa (Africa zone) is a bit lost.
Great zoo, You need to get there fairly early to make the most of your day. Be prepared to book your tickets online as you can't buy them at the door. Really enjoyed our day ????.
I went to the Zoo a few days ago. I loved it so much I had become a member. I've been back since and going next week too. I can't wait to go back. I also love all the effort this Zoological Society is putting to preserve endangered animals and to raise awareness of global warming.
I loved it at the zoo amazing animals to see different things to some other zoo's staff were great too
Covid distancing felt very safe. They have managed to keep everything open even e.g. the reptile house and butterfly house. There are some upgrades and repairs happening, but it caused almost no disruption. Fantastic animals. Very clear and interesting signage. All the animals seemed very happy, with plenty to play with and keep them interested.
Absolutely brilliant day out. Staff were so friendly and chatty and the routes were brilliantly set out. I hired a mobility scooter and again staff were helpful and wheelchair access and routes were brilliant!
What a great place to whittle away 6hrs of your day. Easy to use & follow maps. Easy walk along Camden Lock to get to Regent park & the Zoo. Plenty facilities if you get caught short, ice creams, teas, coffees, restaurant
The zoo is bigger than I expected. There were animals there that I had not seen in any zoo's before so I was pleasantly surprised. My favourite part was the clock by the bird Avery and it's animations. There's not alot of places to eat but there's plenty of tables and benches to sit. There's so many animals to see. The zoo is beautiful and clean and I highly recommend a visit if you are an animal lover.
A great zoo for young children to get to know all the common animals. It is very easy to walk around and see most of the animals in about 2 to 3 hours. Without a doubt we prefer Whipsnade Zoo where the animals are free to roam and there is more variety but the central location within London of London Zoo is very advantageous and does mean that we come here more frequently. You can park just outside on the road for 4 hours for under £12 or used the London Zoo car park for a little more all day.
Always a wonderful day. Been a long term member of ZSL Wonderful encounters, friendly and knowledgeable staff, lots history and every penny spent here helps further ZSL's work around the world Some Zoo's are for entertainment and money, ZSL is not. The animals come first and guests come last and that's the exact way it should be.
Always such a fantastic day out. I am sure everytime we come here there's new exhibitions to see and the staff are always so super friendly. Love ZSL! ????????????????
Weekday
Great zoo. Deceptively big. Great chances to get up close to the animals
Great day out. It's a major tourist attraction in the centre of London so budget accordingly. We went in January and it was fantastic, yes somethings weren't open ( food stands etc.. as far as I know all animal exhibits were open) but we got to see all the animals we wanted to and didn't feel rushed or squashed at all. The ordering system and crowd control measures in the gift shop and restaurant are intuitive, simple and the definitely the way forward. The quality of the food is as expected, really not bad but it's fast food done fast. Again though research prices and plan accordingly if you plan to eat here. Large groups and families may consider bringing a pick-nick/packed lunch. One last thing they don't offer free maps. There's is a map in the gift book which costs £5. I just took a picture on my phone of the big map board near the entrance ????
I love the zoo and have been a member for 20 years. Its a shame I couldn't get a discounted ticket for my guest at the gate. The colour coded routes are an excellent idea to keep down the crowds and we got to see so many of the animals. The baby monkeys were a real highlight!
I spent all day here and it was one of the more beautiful zoos I've seen. The art work was beautiful. My personal favorite was the butterfly world. It was sooo cool and the staff was friendly. Everything is easily laid out and they have little color coded paw prints you follow around. Also, if you get a chance try the fish and chips with mushy peas in the cafe... So good.
A great day out but charging full price when nearly half of the attractions were closed was a bit much, I agree the zoo needs support during the pandemic but need to understand that a number of visitors have also had a hard time with money.
Love the penguin pool...at the time of my visit in only saw 1 gorilla. All stands were closed except 2 and the shop. I witnessed a lot of the animals being fed. Enjoyed my isit will go again because I didn't see everything
Weekend
Lovely place to spend with family
It was a fantastic day out walking round see all the various exhibits. It was interesting learning about how the zoo started and all the history.
This was my first visit to London zoo and I really enjoyed myself. It was quite busy on a Saturday morning which is expected. I loved the clock by the bird Avery. There's not alot of places to eat so I’d recommend packing some snacks. The zoo is beautiful and clean and I highly recommend a visit! :)
We had a lovely time. But there seemed to be a lot of missing animals and empty enclosures. The zoo car park was full by 12 on a Sunday, however there was ample parking on the street. (It wasn't cheap, but hey-ho it is London) I'm glad we visited. There are some great animals and insects to see, but personally I prefer whipsnade. All the staff at ZSL London were lovely and seeing Bing was a hit with my daughter.
An amazing place, with so much to see. Friendly staff and some cool enclosures where you are inside the animal cage.
A lot to see, and staff were very helpful.
This was a pretty cool day, I went with my partner.. the carpark is £12.50 for the entire day unless have a disabled access then it becomes free.. Inside the zoo itself was a little disappointing with the amenities there was nowhere to buy a hot drink to walk around with that was open only the main restaurant by the entrance and gift shop and the toilets needed some attention. The actual zoo was really sweet and thought out, they were different coloured trails for different varieties of animals however I never paid much attention to that and just went with it.. It really was a lovely day and the gift shop wasn't overly overpriced which was surprising The animals were clearly well looked after and was fairly active considering winter time.. I think the most special were the butterflies so friendly that they were landing on people and hatching out as we were there now that was awesome, and also the giraffes There was also a little interactive farm which was a petting zoo I guess and had a few animals for children to get close and feed. It also has some areas been expanded and updated for the animals, The monkeys ran over head and you could touch, the gorillas were adorable as you can imagine and a sloth and their baby was cuddled in a corner so it really was quite a personal and individual experience- its hard to remember that your in the middle of London I would definitely go again and again.. It just needs some little touches to make my review 5 stars but only little bits such as toilets been maintained a little better and tome interactive areas fixed so were working and having stalls open where you can get hot drinks.
We had a great day out at the zoo. I had been 7 years ago and didn't rate it, but was so glad we returned. Kids had an excellent time, lots to see and do. Bring a towel as the kids loved cooking off in the splash park.
Had a lovely day the day it reopened.. lots of hand cleaning stations throughout.. no maps available now there are three coloured routes to follow which personally is a much better idea there is a list of animals at the entrance so you know what ones are on what routes a much easier way to assure you don't miss any or walk more than need when your with the little ones .. alot of the buildings still closed due to covid .. even the butterfly section which is understandable but the children were a little disappointed. Lots of covid guidelines in place but people weren't generally taking any notice .. its not the keepers job to ensure this happens it should be the common sense of people the keepers have enough to do.. Overall had a nice day.
I attended one of the zoo lates. It was such a magically fantastic experience that I would highly recommend to all. The staff are very helpful, attentive and friendly right from the moment you approach the zoo. There are drinks and a selection of food stalls. Plus games, music and all sorts of entertainment around the zoo, plus all the animals you get to see! Everyone who went from the younger to the more mature seemed to have a fantastic time. I will definitely go again before the summer ends if I can
Make sure you have plenty of time to see the Zoo as there is so much to see and a lot of walking to do too. We were really disappointed and upset to see how the Giraffes and Zebra's were housed ~~~ on concrete with no greenery or trees to be seen. No sign of the tigers when we were there but it was good to see that the tigers enclosure is large andwell maintained and it looks natural. Missed the Gorillas because we didn't see the sign for them and we had spent so much time in the Zoo as it was. Staff are friendly and helpful.
The Zoo is located in The Regent’s Park, London. It’s a lovely place for kids as well because of the variety of animals, butterfly sanctuary so beautiful and the Penguin beach I loved. The Zoo is a massive place with accessible for wheelchairs people too. It is a very clean place, all the staff are very helpful and pleasant. Because is a huge place my advise is before you planning to visit the Zoo make sure to have plenty of time( +3 hours) and don’t come to visit this place in a hurry.
My kids really enjoyed their time at the zoo. We spent time in there from 10am until 6pm. We had our lunch at the food court. The price for the food were reasonable. The provided routes for the visitors also were very helpful (pink, orange …
A full day of walking plenty to see and well spaced out in some areas though members of staff could not be seen in areas
Was overall a good day at the Zoo. Had never visited before. Pros: interactive places for kids, Not the cheapest of restaurants BUT was real food and good food, quick and efficient check in, friendly staff throughout . Cons: some of the pens were not laid out for viewing so only caught glimpses of animals, lion image was pacing for at least an hour over the same 10ft patch. Coloured routes need to be re-thought so that your not double backing on animals already viewed, Having been to Colchester Zoo previously I thought Colchester was more user friendly and their animals selection was greater. STILL was a good day out and fun for all.
Amazing experience, when you enter you're instantly inside a fantastic mood. You have a lot of different animals and it's ideal for kids with families, friends or couples just hanging out for something interesting. And as a photographer and reviewer I really appreciate the effort and amount of work they put into! Here some shots from the day, unlucky I came really late almost closure, but will return for sure.
Loved the selection of different routes, saves one from having to navigate a map and keeps the kids on track. Plenty of animals to see and additional activities to keep the little ones entertained all day.
Attended an evening viewing, it was very busy but absolutely amazing. Not been to London since i was i was child. The staff were friendly and polite. They had a good selection of food trucks and canned cocktails, beers and wine. If you are feeling up to it the butterfly enclosure it great and there is slso a spider enclosure - not for the faint hearted - That was amazing, highly recommended.
I was particularly impressed by the quality and depth of the zoo - wasn't expecting such a comprehensive and well thought out experience from an inner city zoo. Clear that its developed over many years and has a lot of history and stories. Great for the kids, with lots to experience, play on and entertain. The only thing is its quite expensive to go in, so make sure you put aside a the good few hours to explore :)
Really impressed with the zoo, how well taken care of the animals seem to be. Incredible that we have such a big zoo in the middle of London. Really recommend checking it out!
Excellent experience at the London zoo. There are a wide rande of animals to see and the zoo is well organised by continent, birds, mini beasts etc. A good day out for adults and children alike, each enclosure is informative and interactive. Staff and volunteers are passionate about looking after animals and serving the guests. I would schedule your visit to take the best part of the day as there is lots to see.
If you visit London with kids you must to visit zoo . It's easy to get there by subway. Zoo really big and lots of different animal. At different times you can see how they feed and different activities. Kids love to see all them them and spend all day there .
Awesome Zoo. Sometimes looks a bit small for the animals.
Great place for little children. Make sure you have plenty of time. I would say about 5 to 6 hours are sufficient to see the whole zoo .
Had a blast with the family. Glad we got super saver tickets as would be too expensive with normal tickets I reckon (3 adults + toddler) . Also the gorilla's weren't present which was a bit disappointing. Overall a great day out though.
Such a lovely day. You definitely need all day as so much to see. They also have "walk through" exhibitions for rainforest, spiders, lemurs, butterflies or monkeys which is lovely and a welcome change to just looking at enclosures. The lions and tigers are magnificent. We absolutely loved the spiders and reptile house! Food isn't great and quite expensive but lots of areas for picnics so not a big deal. Lots of ice cream vendors, we saw a really good face painting place and there was a fab carousel at the main exit. The gift shoppe has something for every budget and lots to choose from. The different coloured routes ensure you see everything and make it much easier to find stuff. Would definitely recommend! Could do with more maps so make sure you take a pic of the entrance map with your phone.
What wonderful place to visit. My whole family loved London Zoo. We spent all day in the zoo seeing different animals. Coming to the end of the day we went to see the small monkeys in the own home & one of the monkeys jumped on my shoulder, my family thought this was really funny. Definitely visit again. Thank you London Zoo & keep up the excellent work you do.
I went in December, so a lot of the animals weren't very active. I've travelled to many zoos here and abroad, and enjoy photographing the animals, and this has been my least favourite. I struggled to find good spots that wasn't blocked by post or dirty glass. But hats off for all the work they do behind the scenes.
Alot of exhibits and shows where shut when I went including the iconic aquarium and the animals had little to no enrichment. Overall the only few good bits where leaving or shutting down. In the summer it is usually better die to the shows which were not on when I went.
Wouldn't say best Zoo, but good for one time visit ..Have some never seen before animals like Okapi and creatuers are must to see
Haven't been in soooo long, my daughter (aged 17) and I spent the whole day there. The highlights? The lemurs, the butterfly house, the penguin beach too many to choose! A fantastic mood lifting experience...thanks ZSL!
Wait time
We stayed as lodge guests which was an amazing experience to have. The lodges are clean and have got good facilities. They are situated at the side of the lion enclosure. Although not cheap it is certainly value for money. You get a day at the zoo included as well as a day at Whipsnade should you choose. At the end of the day we met our hosts. They took us back to the lodges where we were going to stay and a short time later we headed out for our first tour. There were three in total. Two in the evening, one before dinner and one after and one first thing in the morning before the zoo opened. Fiona and Lucy were very passionate and knowledgeable about their animals. They filled us with interesting and fun facts both about the individual animals and the zoo with its long history. We got to feed several while we were there which was good fun as well as getting to see behind the scenes. The night was spent listening to the lions and we were greeted with an unusual dawn chorus of gibbons. It was an amazing and unforgettable experience which we are so glad that we did and fully recommend. Thank you to Lucy, Fiona and Dan who made it so much fun.
All the animals look sadly ????... sorry but I'm been in one Sunday and I leave in 30 min after I been in. So tidy, to many people, I don't recommend for relax time.
Much better than I remembered it as a kid. Animals have more space and to seen them live is magical.
Such a great place! We were there for 4 hours and it still wasn't enough time to see everything. Some enclosures even allow you to walk in with the animals (who look more than happy to have you there!) It is sometimes sad to see magnificent creatures like the lions or the tigers being in relatively small areas. But its important to remember that a lot the animals there are rescued or critically endangered in the wild. If you don't have kids try your best to go on a day when kids are at school!
I really liked the zoo. I mean the paths were a little confusing but I think after going it two or 3 times we found everything. I liked the butterfly and spider house the most. :)
Pick a trail and take the tour.. we did all three! Plenty of space for children to run around, happy animals giving us the once over, even happier audiences. Staff around to guide you in right direction. Lunch was astonishing with a range of foods for every diet.. vegan, fish, meat, dairy/Gluten free you will find something! Fabulous carousel for adults too... all wherlchair/buggy safe.
Much improved since I visited 20 years ago. Strong emphasis on education. Lovely gardens great day out. Nice change from museums!
Great variety of animals, insects and birds. The zookeepers were all very friendly and happy to invite people along to feedings. It was really cool to go into some of the open animal areas too, although I avoided the 'free range' spider room ???? Some of the structures could do with a refurb but generally the animals seem well looked after.
It is definitely a place to go to, you don't want to miss this amazing zoo. It has themes, it has fun places for the kids, it is just the type of zoo where everybody can and will have fun
Lovely family day out, lots of interesting facts for kids (and adults) to read. Would advise getting the zoo map so nothing is missed out. The open spider tunnel I wasn't brave enough to go in! ???? Little picnic stops and benches throughout the zoo, huts to buy drinks/sandwiches/cakes/hot snacks. Small Play park for the little ones. Toilet facilities along routes. Good priced gift shop at the end.
Really great! It’s in London so it’s easy to get too and there is so much stuff to do! From penguins to lions and from butterfly’s to gorillas this place has got a lot! They also do shows and my favourite is the penguin one as it happens right at midday so you can sit down on the steps and listen while you eat your lunch
Great place to bring the kids, lots to see and doesn't need all day to see everything.
Ticket prices for adult are more than £27! With entry slots at 10am and 12pm. …
Zoos in the winter are not the best idea. The tigers didn't show and I can't blame them... It was 5 degrees the day we visited. Many of the exhibitions are under construction for improvement which shows great things are coming in near future. The spiders, snakes and butterflies are worth a visit! Such an amazing experience to be surrounded by butterflies! The rainforest bit was also good.
We had an absolutely amazing day out last Sunday. We had a 10 -2 slot which was plenty of time to see the whole zoo. We arrived on opening at 10 am and felt like we were the only ones there for a few hours! The animals were active so we saw most of them as we walked round. We even braved the spider walk through!!! Something I was a bit scared of before hand but was actually really good to see the spiders up close! ???? Although quieter than usual we really took advantage of this and had such a nice relaxed visit. Would definitely recommend if you fancy a day out in the near future. We felt safe. There were plenty of clean toilets around the zoo and lots of sanitising stations to hand.
Surprisingly large, spent five hours in the zoo (12PM-5PM) and unfortunately didn't get to see everything - I'd recommend the 10AM entry if you really want to be comprehensive. Bird and insect houses excellent. Good standard of welfare all round.
Lovely place to visit ... you need more than a day to explore all the animals
Its been about less than 2 decades but they have improved a lot. New animals to visit but the butterfly paradise was to die for. Its one thing seeing some of these insects, bugs and animals on TV but to have access to some exotic stuff here was just spectacular
Fantastic ???? Perfect outing for the whole family. Very educational as well because they had various engaging activities every 10 minutes like feeding the birds, watching the penguins swim and a butterfly garden too where they showed the whole process of caterpillar to butterfly ????
Pick a trail and take the tour.. we did all three! Plenty of space for children to run around, happy animals giving us the once over, even happier audiences. Staff around to guide you in right direction. Lunch was astonishing with a range …
Loved it, great zoo. Something for all the family
Absolutely amazing place ???? lil penguin, giraffe, monkey, tiger, lions and many many animals have there. I just love animals ????amazing day
Great educational place for the little ones and the adults, you get to see a lot of animals, birds, fish and amphibians. Well worth a visit, and even better buying a membership as one visit is not enough.
ZSL London Zoo is packed full of wonder and amazement, with over 650 species of animals to meet and thousands more surprising and fascinating facts just waiting to be discovered. Find yourself face-to-face with Asiatic lions and friendly giraffes whilst they enjoy a spot of lunch. Wander through the Madagascan shrub forest and see how many of the ring-tailed lemurs you can spot before heading down to B.U.G.S to quiz insect experts on the importance of insects to the ecosystem. Then, if you're feeling brave, you can get up close and personal and take a Spider Selfie with the resident arachnids in Europe’s only walk-through spider experience. Not to mention firm favourites Gorilla Kingdom, Penguin Beach and Tiger Territory. This is a place where fun days help them to fund raise. Where our visit will help support the conservation work in over 50 countries around the world. Where really great days out can make a really positive difference to the wildlife we work to protect. Come and enjoy with the family I promise you'd love it!
Went when the weather wasn't good and it was mostly empty for the first half of the day. We had an amazing time
A nice place to unwind with the kids, a yearly pass serves well as we can't cover everything in a day.
Great selection of large and small animals, with some rare species. Wide variety of birds. Reptile and insect house closed due to covid. Gift shop lots of fun and educational toys. A good day out for all ages
Fun time at the zoo. Most animals where visible. Always a great time for the kids
Absolutely loved it, can't wait to go back with our children. The park was so clean and staff were brilliant and informative. All round great experience and awesome day!
Large zoo with very cool animals (My favourite was the Bush babies and the little monkeys) which I didn't know they had before hand. Hard to find your way around , they do provide maps but they will cost £5 which is abit of a shame as most zoos gift free leaflet with map.
I took my daughter here for her 9th birthday. It was very enjoyable, although some of the animals were hiding so didn't get to see much of them. If on a budget bring your own food as buying food here is quite pricey. Makes a great day out.
Love going to London zoo. Good selection of animals.
The London Zoo is great for kids. Plenty of room to run around and a great playground area. The colored arrows are a little confusing in places but the idea is good.
Easy to get to. Need the whole day. Pack food with you. Had lots of fun.
It's the first time I go and it really seemed great. Despite the cold the animals were beautiful and were seen. The awesome tiger and the great Lions. All areas very clean and the tour is very easy. You also have access to certain areas where animals are free by your side like butterflies, bird lemurs and tiny monkeys. I loved the experience. I recommend it.
I love going there whenever I can. Love the place and can't wait to take my gran kids there as soon as there old enough. Easy spend the whole day there no problem 10/10 all day long.. they're also improving the zoo with new buildings and exhibitions. See past that and its a terrific day out. Looking forward to my next trip, hopefully soon..
Loved it here. The animals were really well, and the staff were polite, informative and helped us feel safe. Would 10/10 recommend and visit again
Amazing! Cheap for what you get! Immersive, and you get too learn lots about the animals
Plenty of animals. Some exhibitions where you can get close to the animals such as the birds and lemurs. Animals look well looked after. Had a great day taking pictures of the animals.
Loved it my whole family loved it even though the lions refused to come out and see us
A lot to see, and staff were very helpful.
A great day out. Carefully planned routes to allow for social distancing. Knowledgeable staff ready to share their knowledge of the animals. Great to learn more about ZSL's conservation work across the world too.
I spent a really lovely day at this zoo. Staff very nice and helpful. Toilets could have been cleanener but it was a busy day.
The zoo is great but pricey. To be honest, I wouldn't pay £30 for the entrance because if you are an average family of 4, this will be £120 just in tickets! We paid £66 for my child annual membership and as he needs a carer (he has, ASD), I went for free. My daughter didn't pay as she is under 3. My mum paid discounted £24 as she is 60+. We had our own food with us and didn't stop to buy toys. The animals seems happy, clean and well treated and they have enough space to go around. Very entertaining day, truly beautiful. Disability areas are easily accessible and toilets are clean. There is a carousel and a playground to keep children smiling. Both my children loved feeding the goats and we had a lot of fun. Well worthy to go but just be mindful of the prices...
Amazing place to be... beautiful environment. I totally enjoyed my experience here
Went early November so not expecting a lot of Events on, but we were very impressed with what was available. Definitely enough exhibits to spend the whole day. The ability to go into several enclosures (butterfly, birds, lemurs) was very exciting.
Absolutely amazing place ???? lil penguin, giraffe, monkey, tiger, lions and many many animals have there. I just love animals ????amazing day
Nice zoo for one day outing, But a zoo without an elephant ???? is incomplete.
It’s a huge territory with a variety of different animals. Even in the rainy day you can enjoy it. Also was quite pleased with places where you can interact with monkeys and butterflies.
It's a nice place to go when you kid starts to ask a lot of questions about the animal and can't stop watching animal videos. Lol :D. It was a nice trip. I went with my 5yrs old kid and it was really fun. Could only watch 1 lion. In the first attempt couldn't find any tiger but tried while going out and could see them. Reptiles, Butterfly paradise and Penguin beach were the best. Amazon rainforest was also good.
Great day out. Lovely animals. Staff really friendly. Limited food at the restaurant only three choices and all with chips. Gift store was full of lovely items. the photo with the guy the gorilla statue at the beginning was fun. Buying the photo pack for only £25 with the guy pic and extra cgi photos with magnet and key ring in a presentation pack was great. They even send you extra photos via email. A great day out!
If you love animals then you should visit this place. Though their are not too many animals but still it's a nice place to be. Their is lot of greenery around the zoo also very well maintained. You can easily reach this place through bus and also through canal. Taking a canal and reaching the zoo is a unique experience. The cost of the for the zoo is around 32 pounds and I felt this is quite expensive.
If you like animals. Varied. Good for kids if all ages. Lots more than pix
My 3 and a half year old and I had a great time! Would have given 5 stars but at the time we visited (due to COVID-19 factors) some areas were closed. The shop was nice too with all kinds of things that I'm sure nearly everyone would find something they like.
Beautiful zoo in the heart of London. Very well organised and managed. You can really get a sense that consevation is the focus of the zoo and the zoological society. The information boards for all the exhibits is very clearly formatted and consistent throughout highlighting the category of endangerment that the animal is. I really liked the route layouts and one way system. It helped us plan the flow through the zoo in such a way that was not felt rushed and allowed us to cover all the areas in around 4 hours. There are many areas to stop off for a picnic and there is good avaof food throughout. I like the idea of the water refill station. Staff were extremely knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. We also found them to be very polite. The gift shop is very well stocked with a wide range of items and it actually feels good shopping there because you know the proceeds go towards helping the work of the charity. Overall a great day out and will definitely be returning.
Loved it a London zoo today. All animals looked happy and healthy. Penguins were a fav, so cheeky and had a great view of penguin beach. The spider enclosure opened my eyes... I didn't think I had arachnophobia but this did get my heart pumping lol
Perhaps August is not the best time to visit. I thought it was okay with good opportunity to watch different creatures. The sloth free roams so it get up to your face. I think the hardest was night life jungle. Its hard to see and find those creatures in dim red light. I recommend installing infra red heat signal app to detect them or crank up exposure on your phone to see better. Overall, not the best or biggest Zoo. As with most attractions with kids. Expect people to not make space and lose opportunity to see thinfs like tiger up close. As people will move away after the tiger is far away or big turtle.
Great experience for Adults and children alike.. Not to be missed one of the greatest London attractions
Had a lovely day the day it reopened.. lots of hand cleaning stations throughout.. no maps available now there are three coloured routes to follow which personally is a much better idea there is a list of animals at the entrance so you know …
Visited back in 2019 it was really well maintained alot of happy animals kids loved it had great walk around with food stalls and resting area available. So complaints and hats off to the staff to keeping it well maintained. Great place to visit with kids highly recommend.
Fun zoo in the center of London. Many different species of animals to see. Plaques talk about the animals and their endangered state. Some food and drink spots available. Some indoor attractions. The penguins, tigers, and Galapagos tortoises are great.
A must for anyone thinking of visiting London. Spend 4 hours here in total and my wife and I loved it. …
Not sure who were the two security guys on duty today at the front, but they were extremely helpful and understanding! I cycle and run regularly in Regent's park. And every toilet was closed in the park. They allowed me into the Zoo to just use the toilets. So just would like to say thank you! (And that's the first time I've ever been in the Zoo! Unfortunately didn't see any animals, but maybe next time)
It was nice, massive zoo park. Love how the animals have been kept in their natural Habitat so they feel like home..Unfortunetly didn't choose the right time i guess as most animals were restinf sleeping, and due to the current social distancing many things for restricted and closed from viewing..But my little one had great fun and enjoyed it alot.. Hope to come soon????
Great place and I'm sure I only got to see 70% as so many paths to explore
Reservation recommended
A great full day, for a reasonable price. Well laid out and of Goldilocks size, not to small, yet not too big to get around, it was just right. Parking on the street, smack bang outside the entrance, for .35p per fifteen minutes (on a Sunday) which, for the big smoke, I don't think it was too bad. Easy to get up close and personal with the animals, mostly and I didn't leave disappointed. Some good bug's and butterflies.
Some of the smaller exhibits where the animals are in and amongst you (monkeys & spiders) were fun. Like most zoos you are not guaranteed to see some animals. We found a lot of the enclosures were closed due to refurbishment. Would definitely go on low season as I couldn't comprehend how it works in high season.
Situated in central London next to Regents Park it offers a whole day activity. Best to get here is using public transport. It's a good place to visit with children or your friends. The staff is nice and helpful. Check before you visit …
Went with family, ZSL zoo can't be compared with zoos from India but still it was a good day, we reached zoo but counter tickets were not available so we booked tickets again online, if it was a busy day we could have returned with dissapointment. The zoo is massive hope they bring in a panda, elephant, peacock and some more wild life into it.... It was a long walk when we finished the zoo.... Colour codings were so helpful to avoid confusion...... Regents park next to zoo is massive to be enjoyed along with zoo
Great zoo with a wide variety of animals. Due to Covid all of the indoor areas were closed which was disappointing but there was still enough to see to spend almost a full day. Staff were all really friendly and helpful. Main complaint would be the cost of on-street parking as the car park was full and that this was capped at 4 hours maximum stay. The zoo also has limited food/dining options so would recommend a packed lunch unless you’re happy eating fast food.
Great day out at the zoo. We went on a Monday and it was very quiet so we could see everything we wanted too. We gave ourselves 3.5 hours and could have spent twice that long. Highlights were the butterflies, rainforest and reptile house. All the staff were very friendly.
This is a great zoo. So many different animals kept in good conditions. Allow for a minimum of 3 hours if not more.
I got so many more great pictures than what I'm showing but what an experience! The food is very pricy so I recommend bringing your own but for the most part it was a must see if you are interested in animals.
What a fan day out! We pre-booked the tickets, and didn't have to que more than a few minutes to get in. It's well sign posted, but it is rather confusing with the covid one way systems in place. Plan ahead for loo stops, as you can't go back!! Definitely worth bringing a small picnic, or snacks, and drinks are a must! Although there are a couple of snack shacks etc, they aren't easy to get to when you need them right now, and the lines are pretty horrendous. A brilliant array of animals, all looked happy and well taken care of....But be aware that a fair few can be resting out of sight!! My Son loved the fairground ride in the main courtyard, and also had a well earned run around in regent's park (directly out of the exit), as there was no children's play area within the zoo.
Wonderful day out with friends, family or loved ones.. great animal talks. Lots of love from the zoo keepers and the monkey area where their running round you is amazing! Nice, clean and well kept
A lovely day out for all the family. There are different coloured trails to follow on your way around so you can be sure not to miss anything. There's a wide variety of animals. There's water refill stations so you don't have to purchase bottles of water. I would definitely recommend taking a packed lunch along with you as food and drink is quite pricey. There's a park area with a slide and things for the kids to play on and benches so parents can sit close by. The staff are very friendly and happy to assist with anything you need. I would definitely return.
Great Zoo, lots of beautiful animals with great paths to follow to make sure you don't miss anything!
Very amazing selection of animals, easy to spend s whole day looking round with great restaurants.
Amazing place to be... beautiful environment. I totally enjoyed my experience here
The zoo is well set up for families bringing their own picnics and fun items just as we did, but you might want to set aside an extra cash to spend on chill treats on a hot day ( e.g Ice cream cones start at £2.60). On the day of our visit, we spent a whole half day at the zoo, from 10am when it opened until 2pm, which was enough time to go around all the exhibits and enclosures. We would happily find more to explore on a repeat visit as some exhibitions are still under refurbishment. If you are bringing a car, be ready to pay for parking tickets for the duration of your stay. From the history provided and read, TheZoological Society of London was founded in 1826 so it’s fair to say it’s experienced at catering for visitors. The zoo is one of London’s most popular days out and adventure spots and I think it earns its place as one of the top 10 family attractions. There are so many exhibits to view and creatures to encounter that it would be nigh on impossible to find a visitor – young or old – who’s not thrilled by at least a few of the animals. The highpoint s of the visit to the ZSL for uus are. Butterfly Paradise is filled with an astonishing number of beautiful butterflies and it was magical to watch the co as slme of the biggest butterflies fluttered by and even landed on people’s heads We also enjoyed ‘In With The Monkeys’, where a troupe of inquisitive Black-capped Squirrel Monkeys roamed through the trees and scampered right up to us as we walked by Similarly the ‘In With The Lemurs’ enclosure prompted big smiles, especially when we sat quietly for a few minutes to allow the animals to come up close Some of my favourite moments were seeing the biggest creatures, including a very close look at the magnificent Sumatran tigers The graceful giraffes were completely gorgeous too, strolling in and out of their Grade II listed home with its 5-metre tall custom-built doors, designed and built by renowned architect Decimus Burton and used as a giraffe enclosure since 1835. Indeed, we would definitely recommend ZSL and also return for more adventure on another day.
A lovely place to be, however you go prepared as they have a way of making sure you spend loads of money without even realising it. The exist is by a store, kids would want souvenir...very clever.
I got so many more great pictures than what I'm showing but what an experience! The food is very pricy so I recommend bringing your own but for the most part it was a must see if you are interested in animals.
I liked it very much but many animals were gone and the lion was very stressed from the looks of it and the kids were stressing him out even more. The monkeys had Doritos and plastic packets in their enclosure but not sure how it got in there as it was a closed enclosure. Lots of space for the reptiles and great enrichment but other animals need a better clean environment as I could see the rust and paint coming off which isn't good for the animals. I saw people telling the staff that some animals don't look healthy etc and the staff would say I'll keep an eye but I'm not an expert on that species and I understand that but they need more attention. It's a huge place so I know it's hard to get to all of them individually but they deserve the care and love. The price is understandable but also a bit too high. Still enjoyed it very much thank you
Nice and clean with easy routes to go around. My suggestion is go first to Blue route, Pink route and last Orange route. Price was £30 for a single ticket but it may vary. Not too much animals but you will definitely need about 4-5 hours to go around the zoo.
Had a great day, staff were friendly and helpful, animals were amazing and looked really well. The butterfly enclosure was a thrilling experience and the spider enclosure was a bit of therapy for a phobic. Best of all were the majestic giraffes
Nice size zoo with a great variety of animals. The only problem they have is a rat and/or mice infestation. They were everywhere.
Wonderful park and surroundings... Wonderful zoo if you wish to go...
Great place to visit with kids or adults. Beautiful animals - well looked after. Meerkats were very cute.
An amazing place, with so much to see. Friendly staff and some cool enclosures where you are inside the animal cage.
Amazing! Love it...Great day at the zoo. Thank u ????
Nice zoo for one day outing, But a zoo without an elephant ???? is incomplete.
It's very nice place to enjoy a day with family and kids...we can see animals very closely... Even there is restaurant for food and rides for kids as well...I really enjoyed with my family and friends....
Pros: A good option for a family day out. The animals actually look quite healthy and some monkeys looked like they were enjoying themselves. Also, there is a great variety of species to see and discover. There are lots of parking spaces nearby despite being in (Central) London. Lastly There is a cash machine on site as well. Cons: If you don't like seeing animals in cages/restricted, then stay away! Also, the restaurant setup and food wasn't great. Lastly, the photography offered on site didn't come out very well at the end of the day.
Loved it, was amazing. Just a little disappointed about not seeing any wild cats including the lions. Saw the very lazy tigers ???? but that's all. I know zoos are in trouble now because of covid more then before but the tickets are really pricey and for me not enough to see.
Love the penguin pool...at the time of my visit in only saw 1 gorilla. All stands were closed except 2 and the shop. I witnessed a lot of the animals being fed. Enjoyed my isit will go again because I didn't see everything
The London Zoo is great for kids. Plenty of room to run around and a great playground area. The colored arrows are a little confusing in places but the idea is good.
Most of the animals were not available and it seemed like it was quite overpriced for the enjoyment at this London attraction. I would give this one a miss and head over to Sea Life which was much better value and more enjoyable.
It reminded me of a WWII POW camp. The animals looked very unhappy, depressed and stir crazy. Their exhibits provided little to no enrichment. When you compare this zoo with others in Europe and even the UK (i.e Edinburgh, Dublin) it's a rip off. I paid fifty odd quid for two people to be thoroughly depressed upon exit. The butterfly exhibit was engaging and beautiful, but I saw the same lack of care. There were no preventative measures in place to stop the spiders making lunch meat out of the butterflies. Look up in the tent and you'll see what I mean. The parrots are stunning and I hate to see them caged up. All these creatures would have the freedom to roam and fly in the wild but its not been factored into their enclosures and I hate it. The African hunting dog exhibit tells you that their pack territory would be roughly the size of Greater London and shared with only one other pack. Yet here are 5+ in a small enclosure. The giraffe has a concrete exercise yard that looks like Stalag17 with a small patch of sand and a ball on a pole. The whole thing looked quite pathetic. The Okapi is pacing in a repetitive circuit, yet there is a sign that says this is normal behaviour because she wants to mate. I beg to differ. The nocturnal exhibits...do the lights come on at night? Surely these animals aren't kept in perpetual darkness. The cycles of night and day and simulated right?! I understand these animals are being kept safe and all of that, but ZSL can do sooo much better I think. Especially for the price! I didn't like it and I will never be back again.
Excellent, well maintained zoo with beautiful animals and species. We were blessed with gorgeous weather. I would definitely will recommend. A London treasure that's been around for decades.
Where to begin? This is a fantastic zoo with real conservation at its heart. Everything is animal-centred, letting the animals choose to train, eat, play etc when they like. Many of the birds even fly out and about at times, returning at night. The staff and volunteers are kind and knowledgeable. We also did the Gir Lion Lodge stay for my husband's birthday and it was great! Lots of behind-the-scenes tours, nice meal, comfortable lodgings and totally special and unforgettable experience.
It was lovely taking the kids to see the animals in the zoo today. They love it, did face painting, ride the Mary go round, had ice-cream, they made some new friends also and us too (the adults) ????????????????????. Amazing environment to be in seeing the birds, monkies , lions, tigers, gorilla's, water ducks, Lammas, carmels,.. We can't wait for our next trip to explore more.
Beautiful place to share time with family
There was a lot of ongoing improvement creating new enclosures as a consequence some animals were not on display. Too many areas were under refurbishment or replacement. So the entrance fee was a bit steep considering the reduced experience. However seeing the tiger family with their new baby was certainly a highlight.
They want just "Freedom" The best positivity from animals everyone can feel... Everyone is happy to see to make photo, from they eyes and voice everyone can …
I did not manage to see most of the animals either they were sleeping or not in the zoo at all ! Additionally , there is no maps available for the visitors so it was a bit confusing!
Zoo is great for family fun days out we spent 5 hours walking round seeing all the different animals they have a like monkey walk through so u can get quite close. will definitely go again.
Absolutely loved it, can't wait to go back with our children. The park was so clean and staff were brilliant and informative. All round great experience and awesome day!
Been out mid June. Not many animals are out. Kids had fab time. Show timing should be published online as we missed it. Gir Lion santauary is new attraction. Love the birds and penguins. Had great time. Suggest more needs to be done to see animals as they are always in hiding. had to just walk around at times.!
Great zoo with fantastic enclosures with loads of space for most of the Animals and knowledgeable friendly zookeepers who answered all my questions.
This zoo really appreciates conservation and cares for the animals. There's such a great selection of different species of animals that I still greatly enjoyed the zoo even on my second visit and with some areas closed off due to covid limits. All the zoo staff are really friendly and happy to talk to you about the animals, and, best of all, guide you around walk-in enclosures. Keep doing what you're doing ZSL London Zoo!
Everyone loves the zoo, was a bit of a long walk from regents street, camden was nearer. Just book in advance cause on the day is tricky, you need about 2 hours+ to enjoy on a good day. Go early and you will love it. Just take your picnic with you.
Had a great day, staff were friendly and helpful, animals were amazing and looked really well. The butterfly enclosure was a thrilling experience and the spider enclosure was a bit of therapy for a phobic. Best of all were the majestic giraffes
Great experience and amazing enclosures. An excellent example of an ethical, well run zoo with the animals' wellbeing in the forefront.
They no longer provide free maps for you to take due to covid, but there are large maps dotted around to help you find your way and 3 different routes to make sure you don't miss anything. However, there didn't seem to be any obvious signs saying when feeding times/shows would be. They are building new facilities and some areas are closed off. Although you need to pre-book (members also have to pre-book in school holidays and weekends) it felt a bit crowded in the morning, with crowds around certain areas as quite a lot of animals were asleep.
Come here just over a week ago for a birthday day out and hate to say it was disappointing. I’m not to sure if it was down to weather ( dry sunny but cold )but there was barely any animals outside or only one or two per den/pen. The routes around are confusing so you find yourself going back on yourself or feeling like you have missed things. Quite a few enclosures were closed or animals had been moved. Best bit was probably penguins and butterflies. As someone’s previously said recently definitely not worth a full price ticket. Most of the food huts around the zoo were closed and the penguin pool was dry. The restaurant was ok but pricey didn’t do much in range of food so I’d advise your own lunch. So disappointing trip for money paid.
We went as two adults on a weekend and found enough to keep us entertained for 3-3.5 hours. Some animals were hiding out from the cold and others moved from current enclosures, and some of the cafes were temporarily closed. It seemed very child-friendly for those with kids. Definitely check out the butterflies, penguins, and various monkeys as they are very entertaining. Also worth seeing what time the feedings or short talks are as they can be quite informative. I’m not sure it’s worth the full ticket price, but surely if you get a deal it’s a nice afternoon out.
Very big and nice zoo. Can spend the whole day with kids in it and they always get happy and excited when we visit. The zoo has a cafeteria where we can buy some food and snacks. It is always super clean and looked after. The only downside is that it is expensive.
went just after lockdown. Some sections you have to have a mask which I didn't see on the website. They sell them there but for 5 quid so bring your own. Aquarium was closed, as where a few sections. Honestly for a zoo that's not fully open they shouldn't charge full price as ours came to about £60 and we didn't get to see everything. However staff where lovely and helpful, easy parking, relatively cheap snacks and drinks . Would recommend bringing pack lunch
Right in the heart of London is one of the nicest zoo's in the country. Great exhibits with happy looking animals. Spotlessly clean and well laid out. Well worth the visit ????
Wait time
Proud to see the Indian Lion they kept here in London. Please have plenty of time to see the whole of the zoo species
A good visit, about 4 hours to see everything and have s quick coffee stop. Lots to see, very compact by modern zoo standards but with a good variety of indoor and outdoor exhibits.
Great selection of animals to see and a fantastic day out. The park is well laid out but the signs to tell you routes are a little confusing and the PDF map isn't very clear so you sometimes have to go back on yourself a bit. The restaurant is good and reasonably priced.
Right in the heart of London is one of the nicest zoo's in the country. Great exhibits with happy looking animals. Spotlessly clean and well laid out. Well worth the visit ????
We had a lovely few hours, it wasn't over crowded and the food we had we enjoyed. There were a few animals not out which was a shame and tours and displays were not adequately advertised so we missed them, they need to be advertised all over like other places do.
We visited off peak, it was lovely, the animals look well cared for and there were plenty of facilities to spend an entire day!
Fun time at the zoo. Most animals where visible. Always a great time for the kids
Brilliant how the animals are in larger living space now. Well done LONDON ZOO massive improvements here. Loved our day here. Staff very nice .
Great place and are doing a lot to make it better for the animals. The reptile house is fantastic
Some enclosures were closed, some in refurbishment. Signage could have been better. Overall good experience for the family but a lot of walking back and forth.
Great place to have a nice day out with kids. A large range of animals to see. A few eateries: restaurant, sandwich station, quite a few icecream stations, a very nice wetplay space for children ( so come with a swimsuit for them to enjoy this space on a hot day).
I read reviews that said there were no animals, so I was worried as we had prebooked tickets. However we saw loads of animals, and had a great day out . Would recommend ????
The best zoo in the country…..most animals have lots of space and everything is clean. However, some animals could definitely use more space. The hands on element of the zoo is great, you can go in the spider monkey zone and the lemur zone! And there’s a petting zoo. The keepers are cautious but equally they take a common sense approach. Love it. There is lots of space for guests to get around. Lots of refreshment stops but be warned, food and drinks incredibly expensive here.
Really impressed with the zoo, how well taken care of the animals seem to be. Incredible that we have such a big zoo in the middle of London. Really recommend checking it out!
Must do if you have kids and visiting London. We arrived at 10am and left at 5pm and still didn't manage everything. Pricey as you'd expect, tickets for a family of 4 were £100 and 2 kids and 2 adult burger and chips were £45 but very tasty. The Indian themed train station is a real highlight. The park has themed areas and kids had to collect stamps in a passport which they enjoyed. Not the easiest to get to, quickest and less stress way was tube to King's Cross and a short cab ride.
Loads of things to do and see. Bit of a cheek not to get a free map of the zoo (£5 classed as a zoo guide) not many rangers about to ask questions; unless in an animal walk through. I love animals and I did feel a little bad for some of them as they did not look happy behind the enclosures, hence not adding the photos. Was shocked that my girls aged 6 and 9 found the reptile enclosure the most fascinating. They also really enjoyed the insect enclosure, look out for the vampire crabs. I'm definitely going back! Thank you for the kind people and staff we met along the way. My girls are now asking to be a ranger for the day. If I'm honest I want to be a ranger for the day too hahaha.
Was a good trip through Lottery Days out but not worth the full ticket price unless it's a summer day when maybe more of the animals are out. Lots of areas under refurbishment at the moment.
I've been to zoos in other countries, its way better, 0 star for the price, it was not worth £60 for 2 people, on the main animals, the tiger and lion, the viewing angle was very bad, but all animals that no one is interested in like bugs and insects full perfect view
Pretty nice zoo. Pretty big and takes a while to get through. Kinda lacking on the exhibitions for giraffes and zebras with enclosures that made me feel sad for the animals cause they didn't have much space or area to explore/walk around to excite them. Other than that nice staff and cool animals.
It was a beautiful sunny day in London & we were excited about our planned trip to ZSL. It would seem the weather impacted a number of larger animals, as we didn’t see a some of them, including African wild dogs, lions or tigers. There was still lots to see, including the penguins who looked so cool & refreshed as they swam in their beach inclosure. And the gorillas were also taking it easy indoors. Note to self, visit zoos (if again), on cooler days.
A lot of people don't like going to Zoo's but London Zoo does it right. The animals all have the space they need. Each animal is explained and their extention level is made very clear and so is the conservation efforts being done by London Zoo.
we went on quite a hot day so some of the animals were hiding inside where it was a bit cooler, but we still saw a lot of animals. Really great day, very big zoo and we had a lot of fun. highly recommend!
Surprisingly large, spent five hours in the zoo (12PM-5PM) and unfortunately didn't get to see everything - I'd recommend the 10AM entry if you really want to be comprehensive. Bird and insect houses excellent. Good standard of welfare all round.
It’s a really nice zoo with animals taken care of!
Stunning animals! Gorgeous environment! A full day of adventure. Staff were extremely welcoming, friendly, greeted each and every customer, showed great knowledge of the animals. And also the Zoo has adapted so well due to COVID, creating a fun, safe place for us to still visit and see their animals! Thank you for an amazing day. We love your animals! Well done for being able to Continue your great care of the animals and creating a fantastic environment.
It's a Really nice zoo, we had a great day. The enclosures are really clean and some of the up close enclosures were amazing. My personal favourite was the open area with the sloths, ant eaters and fruit bats, it was so cool to be that close to them i also loved the parrots they were having loads of fun in their enclosure
It was really a great experience for to visit ZSL Zoo, London. Will recommend everyone for sure.
Great staff, eager to engage with us and answer questions. Wonderful opportunities to feel like we were getting close up with the animals. Beautiful staging of areas and impeccably clean animal housing. Shame all the food concessions around the zoo were closed due to it not being peak summer season but otherwise had a great day. Thank you.
London Zoo is amazing! If you never been there, it’s absolute worth to visit!
Completed underestimated how enjoyable ZSL would be. Arrived to a short queue, upon entry the children rightfully led and directed our family throughout the whole day. It was a full day 10am to 4:40pm with lunch breaks, stops, lots of designated seating and rest areas. We took our own packed lunches though food in the canteen style restaurant had a general range of British meals, sandwiches drinks coffees as well as surrounding smaller huts selling candy floss, icecreams, sweets, coffees and more. Naturally ZSL mark ups were applied on all items including food, drinks and souvenirs. There are small water fountains but found that the payable refill water dispenser was the best for us. No queue and simple payment card tap system of 25p for 0.5L, 50p for 1L to dispense into own bottles. At the end the children wanted mementoes but agreed we were not prepared to wait in a very long queue to the till approx. 45 mins wait, so decided to check online another day. Our family walked around in total enjoyment and most of the time in awe from the wide range of beautiful animals, creatures, wildlife and Zoo setup. Favourites were the playful penguins and graceful giraffes. ZSL highly recommended for all. Its worth alittle planning ahead as it could be tiring for smaller children.
Hadnt been for a few years but was amazing!! Didnt remeber them having different coloured trails before but that was great as made it easier to get arpund and not miss out parts of the park. Staff incredibly helpful and knowledge and all very covid concious and safe. Also not too busy.
Lovely family day out and the meet the meerkat experience was great.
Best zoo in England for conservation worldwide. Can spend a whole day here. Food is pricey so take your own with you. butterfly house and walk with spiders are great invertebrate features. Large mammals are always welcome. Plenty of staff about . Well stocked souvenir shop as always a bit overpriced. Really highly recommend the zoo. A great location in the middle of parkland. Transport and carparking is easily found. Toilets are clean for the volume of visitors.
It's looking tired. I know it's the time of the year but maybe they should update some of their online info as some of the exhibits have moved to the one near Luton. We enjoyed our visit but it costs a lot for a lot less than planned
Loads of things to do and see. Bit of a cheek not to get a free map of the zoo (£5 classed as a zoo guide) not many rangers about to ask questions; unless in an animal walk through. …
A nice place to unwind with the kids, a yearly pass serves well as we can't cover everything in a day.
It was my first time, i heard really good things about this place however when i went to visit i didnt feel like it was a zoo. Most of the areas were closed, events were fully booked yet there were no events, weird. And there were less animals, 1 lion, 1 giraffe, and so on. Its like all these animals are living a single life. Which got me boring tbh
The lack of animals out the day we went is why I knocked off a star. No lions, tigers, or bears; oh my! Took the nephews (all under 7) for the first time. They had fun but would have been nice to see more. The penguin feeding was cool though and I enjoyed the free range spiders and monkeys.
Had our first day out since Covid rules have lifted. ZSL have put in place excellent Covid compliant rules and all exhibits were open. Spent the whole day there in the end! Kids loved it.
The zoo was really packed of people but very little amount of animals were there. Plenty of penguins and meerkats but very little amount of tigers (1) or lions (1)…. Hopefully the zoo goes back to its former self
Beautiful zoo. Well spaced out and a lot of facilities around the zoo. Spent the whole day going round. Such a wonderful place and the staff are beyond helpful
Sadly a lot of stuff was closed due to flooding. We were offered tickets for another day instead, but we had our toddler with us and it had been such an effort to get there that we stayed. Toddler loved the penguins!
Absolutely fantastic. Ethical, for one. Expansive, for another. So much to do and see, me and two friends got a lot out of it. Good family destination, good wholesome fun for yourself and anyone else in your life (possibly of any age), and the whole organisation is oriented around charity and conservation. Absolutely recommend ????
Had a fantastic afternoon. We haven't been to the zoo in years but what a great time we had all of the exhibits were brilliant, if you follow the 3 routes you don't miss a thing.
Great place for little children. Make sure you have plenty of time. I would say about 5 to 6 hours are sufficient to see the whole zoo .
Fabulous zoo, loads to see and do. Animals clearly well looked after and have plenty of space. Really recommend it for a family day out - it’s also quite flat so accessible to those with mobility constraints. One star removed as you can no longer buy tickets there directly - we were told by someone in the cash booth to go and book them online on our phone. Fine for us, but inaccessible to someone who doesn’t understand how to do that. There was an older couple getting very stressed out trying to purchase it for them and their grandchildren and the zoo staff at entrance were not helping them.
Great day out with da kids
The zoo itself is nice and well kept, but the whole experience feels like a constant exercise on getting money off you. The price of admission is 35 pounds, which is enormous considering that many zoos in other Western nations are totally free. Then once you are in, everything and I mean everything is charged: for example, you would expect that for 35 quid you would get a free map, or a token for a ride on the merry go round, but no, there is a steep charge for both. The food is really low quality but very expensive ( 8 pounds for a supermarket quality hot dog).
Zoo was nicely landscaped and had a few animals i had never seen before. Unfortunately alot of signature animals like lions, giraffes, and elephants were no where in sight. Im sure the winter weather may have played a part in that. Overall a good tourist stop for anyone in London
An amazing place. A lovely variety of animals. We ended up spending the entire day there. It was a lot of walking and I ended up doing approximately 20000 steps. I think the zoo should tell us when it is feeding time so we can choose to visit certain animals at those times. There's not that many places to sit down in the shade which ended up making the whole trip very very tiring.
Attended an evening viewing, it was very busy but absolutely amazing. Not been to London since i was i was child. The staff were friendly and polite. They had a good selection of food trucks and canned cocktails, beers and wine. …
Had an absolutely fantastic day out, was really quiet due to lack of tourists because of covid-19. I spent 3 hours plus walking around looking at all the animal's, 100% worth the money plus it goes back into the zoo. I didn't realise how big the zoo actually is, its very deceiving looking at it from the park.
A really nice zoo. As small as I expected from such an old place. The animals look brilliant however and very well looked after. Nice to get so close to the leaf cutter ants, beautiful. The orb weavers however. Nope. Maybe one day and brilliant that the keeper tried to get me involved. Maybe some places to eat, nothing was open on the 3rd. But I don't go to zoos to eat.
Not sure who were the two security guys on duty today at the front, but they were extremely helpful and understanding! I cycle and run regularly in Regent's park. And every toilet was closed in the park. They allowed me into the Zoo to just …
