This Zoo is classified in the category of Zoo.
Great Zoo we had a Fab day. Easy entry & Friendly staff. We arrived at 10, so good no crowds, very easy to get around and check out all the animals. Grandkids loved it, and walked through Aquarium Twice. Easy Parking
Excellent place for kids and Adults ... You can spend the whole day ... Prayers place is available along with Abulution area ... My son Loved it
Awesome place. Wide and open space. Big cafeteria; highly recommended for families, couples, or for a solo adventure.
What a wonderful experience! The staff are all knowledgeable and helpful, the misters REALLY help on hot days and the zoo itself is lovely. Was great to see the capybaras out and playing too.
We enjoyed. Its spacious. My boy loved it.
Good. But extremely expensive. The tickets were so expensive. The food was so expensive.
Booked tickets for a specific time slot as their website said they were limiting numbers due to covid. Absolutely appalling the amount of people queuing to get in at once. Way too many people there for current climate. Carparks were at capacity.
It's quite a great zoo I honestly think it is nice especially the food and price range isn't to bad. I animals are adorable and cute. There elephants, fishes, penguins, crocodile, all sorts of monkies, kangaroo, emus and so much awesome reptiles and mamald even a camel. I'd recommend going there with family and friends. There is a nice modern feel for it. Plenty of parking but the line is quite big especially at peak hour. There is also first aid on-site and a gift shop with animals. There is also a waffle dessert place there and a coffee shop all inside.
Surprisingly good. Even though it appears small, we ended up spending 4 hours there. Good picnic spots. Good for young kids 3yr+. Only negatives, is the price of kiosk and cafe items. And only a small amount of shade. Bring your own food and drink. Bring a big hat in summer!
A very nice place for people of all ages to visit. A well spent day exploring the Australian Native animals and as well as different species.
One of the best Zoos of Sydney where you get to see most of the animals which are usually not seen in other Zoos. The management is really good and the staff is super helpful. The only downside is the expensive ride of Ferris wheel which I believe could be discounted. All in all, fun for folks of all ages.
Good zoo! Well built and good varieties of animals. They also look to be in good health
Nice location for short time visit. Good collection of animals. Highly Recommend for kids and short term visitors
Sydney Zoo is a brilliantly maintained one and I was pleasantly surprised at the animal variety there. The Lions in particular were a treat to watch and the viewing points in the zoo are really state of the art. The staff were extremely friendly and courteous. There is a big cafe inside and massive ferries wheel as well. The restrooms are very clean and sanitizing stations can be found in every corner of the zoo. It's is great spot to visit with family and kids and it is sure to surprise the visitors...
Great day out with my son. Love the animals and love the facilities. ????
An amazing collection of animals, nice open spaces for the bigger animals. Typical zoo prices with regards to food and drinks etc. Otherwise a great day out for a few hours.
1st time been to Sydney zoo on a weekday, not many people, has a few school tour visit, very nice and spacious. Zoo is not big like Taronga but have most of the animals you want to see in a zoo like ???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? Etc.. We finished the zoo around 2 hours with a little one 3yo. If you purchase ticket in their official website, there's 15% off at the moment.
Absolutely brilliant...for kids of all ages, exhibit enclosures are of the highest quality and a very natural habitat. Getting around was so easy, great to see the elderly and and disabled have been looked after, plenty of toilets and …
We ordered our tickets online but still had to queue about 15min. Staff were very attentive and tried their best to get people in as fast as they could. The tracks were very flat and it was a nice comfortable walk around the zoo. The settings per cage were amazing. The only downside is that the range of animals was very limited but they had a few marsupials that we haven't seen before. Toilets were super clean and loved the solar bin units. There were plenty of rest stops with shelter which was nice. Food was very expensive though. The reptile area was cool. The aquarium wasn't worth going in. Overall, good to go if you haven't been. Lids had a ball.
Leisurely 2.30 hours and you'll have seen it all slightly disappointed no birds ,platypus but for $40 was ok use your discover voucher only $14,95
Had an amazing time with the family. A nice little zoo suitated at Western Sydney. The different areas are well laid out and can be completed within 4 hrs. Just a suggestion, kids zone should have some more play equipment and maybe a splash zone to help the kids cool down in the hot summer. All in all an awesome experience.
Well layed out. The animals are clearly well looked after as well.
It was fantastic, I'm disabled and my husband helping me..Everything was so amazing..
This zoo is truly amazing!! It is not as big as others but that's why I love it so much more. Perfect for the kids, the zookeepers are always around and happy to answer any questions. The new elephant brothers are gorgeous and so entertaining to watch and Saigon is just beautiful. Personally I think the set up is amazing and can't wait to see what they do next ????
Very good in terms of variety. Most of the animals seemed well looked after. Decent facilities. The elephant looked like he wanted some water it was a hot morning but he probably got that soon after we saw him. Some better signage to show you which way to go...we doubled back a few times...Overall a great wildlife park.
Loved it, kids enjoyed it too. It was quite a hot day but it is very well planned with all the shades and water fans etc. Only complaint I have is the food...very expensive - $20 for a hot dog meal!! Though the pricing is in line with any other theme parks etc.
Great place to take small children; it's possible to cover entire zoo in one day with toddlers.
Nice but not very big zoo. Bit crowded on weekends otherwise great day with bub in stroller. Plenty rest areas. Lots of toilets! Food bit pricey but expected
Love this place, easy to walk around, staff are always friendly.
Fantastic zoo, I'd rate this higher than most I've been to around the world. Fantastic for kids, well designed. You feel so close to the animals. Good was well priced for Sydney, but there was quality in it.
Best zoo in Sydney! Second time going and love it so much
A great addition to western sydney. Not the biggest but definitely got some fabulous highlights. Perfect time right now with the capybara pup. It was awesome to watch the pup go for a swim with parents. Aquarium with big Barra's were a hit with the children. Loved the African painted dogs. Very spacious throughout. Other attractions include the Baboons, Arabian camels, emus, wombat, lions, orangutan, hyenas and farm animals. Pretty good cafe's too. Nice play area for children. Plenty of parking, nice gift shop. Definitely going back
What a WONDERFUL zoo. Clean, open, great enclosures, happy animals and zoo keepers. VERY well priced from food to souvenirs and entry, all in all a fabulous day out!
Nice zoo in western Sydney, but seems a bit small of each part.
A beautifully set out zoo... Perfect for little children. An easy 2-3 hours filling in the day. The only downside where the phenomenal prices at the food kiosk...
The zoo has been planned extremely well, it's an easy walk and can be finished in under 3 hours (with a toddler). The exhibits have been very well prepared and allows great views of the various animals. We arrived at opening which I would strongly recommend as the lines to enter when we left at 12 were at least 300m long. I'd also recommend visiting the aquariums first as it gets quite cramped later in the day Try to eat prior or bring food, the cost of food is ridiculous (only negative of the day). 4 nuggets, chips and a drink for $14
Very organised, helpful and respectful staff, good variety of animals. A very big aquarium with different fishes, Pingus and sharks. All the animals are young and very active. Big carpark. Very convenient. Definately recommended. Perfect for kids.
This zoo is well planned out. From the moment you enter and walk around you have animals on display in large enclosures all around you. Very easy to find, thanks to large and close enclosures. This zoo is very pram friendly to. There are shaded benches throughout plenty of cafes and toilets everywhere you go. And souvenir stores for the kids. Please refer to photos for more, highly recommend this zoo
it's smaller than taronga zoo and have less shades but still it's a good place to visit. we did the unlimited pass and already visited the zoo twice. Our child (1yo) enjoy the animals and the aquarium
Great Zoo with a lot of thought put into planning the layout and the animals within. There's a mix of African and Australian animals on display outdoors as well as aquatic and nocturnal indoors. The kids can interact to an extent with the Australian animals. There are plenty of shaded areas and cafes to sit down, relax and escape the hot summer periods. Even though it gets busy thete is plenty of parking which id easy to get too off the highway. Check in moves quickly also.
Worth for the ticket price ???? We felt the Zoo is quite small in size but its a good place to take kids. No picnic areas, less trees so be prepared for those sunny days. Plenty of parking spaces. Cafe is alright but if you taking snacks or something to eat then there are tables to enjoy your own meal. Takes about 4 hours to cover everything. There was no shows like you find on Taroonga zoo
This zoo is amazing! I’ll point out all the things that make visiting this zoo a great experience - It’s all flat, no hills to walk up on a hot day. …
Totally in love with this place as it has everything I love, toddler friendly place with a huge area so social distancing could be easily maintained and it's near to my place so I don't have to go all the way to city to visit zoo!! We get an annual pass as this is going to be my one of the most visiting places with my Lil one!! I love the way they divided area wise with the animals, and everything is so well structured!!
Really great time, smaller zoo but felt more intimate. Just needs a bit more shade.
We went for sunset experience... It wasn't crowded.... It wasn't hot.... Nice and cool if you have kids and a better time if you have toddlers....The only rip off is the indoor cafe.... Angus beef burgers not cooked fresh...meat was double …
What a great zoo. Reasonably level, easy to navigate around, staff friendly, amenities clean, a wide range of beautiful animals. Will highly recommend.
A really enjoyable day out for the whole family. One of the better features of the park is if you have mobility issues like myself you are able to hire a motorised scooter for the day. There are also pram and wheelchair hire. All the staff members they're extremely friendly. Sydney zoo is clean well-maintained with many of dining options available. Although if you are wanting to pack a picnic lunch the zoo does permit that unlike a lot of places these days. As long as there is no alcohol or Glass Containers or bottles been brought onto the site.
Great place to take your family and friends. Is an enjoyable experience that doesn't take up the whole day. Allow 1-2 hours to look at all the animals
I had the chance to visit the zoo just before opening a while ago. A lovely park with reasonable space and a nice range of animals to see. The dining facilities were decent and the staff were helpful also. The zoo is quite far (for myself particularly) but makes for a nice whole day family outing. Highly recommend and I will be back for another visit.
Loved it! Included a couple of animals not often seen at other zoos around Sydney, in areas that appeared (to the layman) to balance animal comfort and visibility very well. Really nice open air, flat layout thoughtfully considered to provide people respite and easy circuits back round to the main seating area so I imagine it would be quite child/disabled/elderly friendly. Look forward to seeing what else they will offer in future!
This is a great place if you want to have a quick zoo visit . The zoo has all the big attractions with out the 4 hour walk loved it great for kids on a time schedule.
Good for kids. It's smaller zoo good for quick refresh with the kids. They do have good amount of animals. We bought the unlimited one so will be visiting more and take up those additional feeding, drives etc.
Loved it. Staff is nice, lots of animals and plenty of enclosures where u can see animals close.
Our family loved it. Plenty of parking. Enclosures are spacious and we'll designed to give maximum viewing opportunity. Great selection of animals including animals I'd never seen in person before - such as Hyenas, African Wild Dogs and Cheetahs. The four male lions were in an active mood, chasing and playing with each by lunch time. Even the food was good and reasonably priced. Good burger and chips and plenty of seating. Will be going again for sure.
Very relaxing to wonder around. Take your own food as it's expensive to buy there. Wheelchair friendly, level ground. Able to see all animals. Takes approximately 2-3 hours. We had a great day. In sunny weather a hat is a must. There are water stations around the park.
A generously large zoo with good range of animals to see. Luckily most of the animals were awake and outside that we could see them. Awesome place for kids and families to spend sometime to learn a bit more about animals and wildlife and have a break at the dining area and cool down in a hot summer day.
It's good..but I think animals are too far for my 1 yr old..may be when he gets bigger
It was a bit refreshing getting out with the kids after a long time but a lot of animals were not to be seen (even at 10.30 am when it was not too hot), food joints were not well managed and the children's changing room was a huge disappointment. I understand the heat and Covid affected the efficiency of the management but simply telling us to come back "tomorrow" was a let down. All in all i guess it was OK at best as the kids liked some animals but huge potential for improvement.
great place to visit with kids.. variety of animals and activities.. plenty of cafes too
Went on a Sunday and of course it was super busy. Better to prebook online as when we arrived there, door tickets were already sold out. Overall nice family and kid friendly zoo, with a range of different animals. The whole zoo can be walked through in around 1.5-2 hours
Positives: The best zoo in Sydney. The enclosure are nicely built and a good variety of animals including lions, cheetahs, zebras, giraffe, elephant, chimpanzees, aquatic animals and reptiles. They have water spraying fans and sheds along the way which help you cool off. The prices are very reasonable. Nice food court and ample picnic benches. Negatives: It is a bit far from most suburbs so plan accordingly. The sun can really get to you and there aren’t enough facilities to help you cope with the heat. We went on a 30 degrees day but the sun fried us. The water spraying fans help but can’t do much in such heat. The animals also will be lying down lazy in the shades in such heat so you won’t get to see them active. The aquatic and reptile enclosures don’t have air conditioning so it gets very hot there as well. Advice: Overall a great experience but plan according to the weather. Take umbrellas and buy tickets online as they are way cheaper than the front counter.
Wasn't too bad, just went too early not all anomals awake yet. But all n all a great experience ????
Nice zoo in western sydney.
Pretty awesome zoo in the west. All of the animals you want to see in a great environment. And they're actually visible!
Lovely day at the Sydney Zoo, nice and flat so it’s easy to walk, no hill climbs, plenty of parking. Staff were friendly and helpful. Food was good, lots of people were ordering coffee so it took a while but the baristas are only human. Even the gift shop was priced reasonably so we picked up more things than we normally would at other zoos we have been to.
Great place but would probably want to come here mid 2022 as there is a lot of construction, since it is a fairly new Zoo. However I am very optimistic of the Zoo and believe it will become one of if not the best Zoo I'm Sydney. But at the moment it is still new and not fully ready. The food in the Cafe is fairly priced for high quality fresh food. I had the Angus beef burger ???? with fries and a coke for $20. The food was very bussin (tasty) and in reasonable portion which will probably fill you up. Overall great food and staff and I'm sure that when they finish all the construction it will be great to come with family and friends.
Crazy… booked in as member for today (Sunday) to come in to the zoo with my 8yr old son. However, due to a birthday party, the zoo was closed… staff said an email was sent out, however I did not receive such a warning on booking or prior.. and showed my inbox to the staff member. The staff did apologise but at the end of the day they could have held the birthday party in one section and still have kept the zoo open and given prior warnings. Poor event management by Sydney zoo. Even my son could not apprehend why the zoo would be closed altogether for a birthday party… without any prior warning. I said it would probably rain and let. Will not be renewing membership for next year. Have been a member for the last 2 yrs since opening. A shame really.
A fantastic Zoo with very nice staff, great set of animals, and a well designed environment. The areas for the animals are decent it size and the viewing areas were good even for out 3 year old. There paths are not too long for walking and better still it's all pretty flat. I could see the people with wheelchairs having no real issues. Beth bit was morning tea and lunch right next to the meercats!
Sydney Zoo is a great zoo to head to. It is flat, which makes it so much better for small children and older people, or those with mobility issues. There are cafes spread around the zoo, so you can stop at many places. Most enclosures have seating available. There are misting guns under regular shelters for keeping cool on those hot days, and they work really effectively as a break between the hot sun. I loved it so much, I became a member, and plan to go regularly with my toddler.
We went on a very busy day and had to wait a long time to find a carpark. Once inside we felt the COVID-19 social distancing was impossible in the indoor areas ( aquarium was packed, lots of adults without masks), so we rushed to the exit and skipped the nocturnal animal display. Apart from this we got to see a variety of animals including the Tasmanian devil, dingos, baboons, capucine monkeys, orangutans, capybara, tigers and lions, giraffe, zebras elephants etc. The Ferris Wheel was a nice experience for a small child. Overall, it was good for a couple of hours, it would probably be better on a less crowded day. Edit. Got pinged for COVID through the NSW app 18hours after visit (so some irresponsible visitors must have entered while waiting for test results)
Great Place for a day out, easy to get around with kids as well.
Great option for Western Sydney residents. The trail is flat and is ideal for prams and wheelchairs and those with limited mobility. The layout is great.. And you can see the animals quite closely.
Easy to walk around
We booked tickets online. It was a good idea as there was a long queue at the counter. But no clear directive for people who booked online tickets like where to go and we ended up queuing with people who are yet to buy tickets. After few minutes a lady came out to ask if anyone booked online. That helped us spending the whole day at the ticket counter. There isn't a lot of animals but they are still a new zoo. But I think they should implement some animal feeding programs or funs activities for kids. There was no social distancing as it was over crowded long weekend to blame but absolutely no crowd control. I felt couple of enclosure are bit small specially the crocodile enclosure. I felt it's bit small for such a big crocodile. Parking was ok. But had to wait again I think uts probably due to long weekend. Cafe inside is expensive $7 dollars for an icecream I felt it's a bit rip off. Overall average experience. I would recommend putting some signals for self help.
It's ok cool place
Great zoo. Visitors get really great visibility of the animals, and plenty of variety, and the facility itself is flat with plenty of shade.
Love the new concept of this Open Air Zoo! The kids and Adults have fun, lots of varieties of Animals and Reptiles, Food in there Food court is good. Will he back again!
Not recommend to visit on a hot day. It was 33 degrees on the afternoon I took my grandson. Stinking hot with not enough shade or respite from the heat and dust. It seemed it was too much for the animals as well. The ones that were visible seemed bored and anxious. Others were obviously in siesta mode and seeking shade. Can’t blame them. The car park is also not undercover so car was like an oven to strap a little one in for a long drive home. Won’t be back until you plant some shady trees and more water for the animals.
Finally got to visit this place over the weekend, was overall a great day. It's large but not so big that you're exhausted by the end of it, most of the walk is flat which was great as we had a pram. Food was pretty good. If you decide to go on a weekend or school holidays I would recommend going early as the line to enter was very large as we were leaving around lunch time.
Great for family day out. My little daughter loved the animals.
Always a great experience at this zoo. Flat walk ways which is great for anyone who has issues with mobility or pushing prams, the staff members are always friendly and helpful, the animals appear to be very happy, misting shaded areas and misting fans all over the place. Good day out for the kids
Great little zoo, easy with young kids as no stairs/ hills. The kids loved it and not as big as taronga so could probably do the whole zoo in 3hrs comfortably. Currently no keeper talks though so that's a bit of a bummer, but the way it's set up you get quite close to the animals and the kids loved that. Smaller than the taronga ones we've been to but good variety of animals and really good for the younger kids that may get tired in the bigger places. Pram friendly as all flat surfaces, there is also wheelchair, pram and ride on carts avail for hire.
Pram friendly. A wide range of different animals including a small aquarium. We went on a cooler day which was perfect but I can imagine it could get hot in Summer as the trees aren’t very established yet. We spent 3-4 hours there.
My partner and I did the lion experience and wow! It was worth the money!! Got to see these beautiful animals up close and personal and hand feed them! It was amazing! Plus our guide Dave was extremely friendly and informative!. I want to do it again and again! 10/10 would recommend!
This zoo is ideal for disabled visitors and young children since it's almost entirely on level ground. More importantly, the animals have room to move around even tho the enclosures allow close access for visitors. The food selection at the cafes could do with upgrading but is at least adequate. Overall, this is a great place for kids and adults alike. We go regularly, at least once a month.
Great place to visit if you have kids. It may not be a full size zoo but it has most popular ones. What stand above other zoos is its preaentation. Its modern zoo with facilities. Plenty of food options. Take your own food if you are limited by budget
A nice zoo with quite close up view of the animals. It's a very accessible walk around. The food is quite expensive but I guess that's fairly standard these days. All amenities were very clean. A lovely day out.
Great medium/small zoo with vast variety of animals, great for a family day out. Great to see animals up close and in more of an open environment. proper signage would be great so there no fussing and walking about to much. Food was decent but more on the pricey side, overall it was a great experience. Visited 2 times so far.
Much easier to walk around and to park your car compared to Tarronga Zoo. Plus the car park is free.
Great adventure! Easy to navigate around, reasonably flat ground, no stairs.
Good place to spend afternoon with kids. However, zoo lacks shady place so it could be really hot if you are planning to visit on a hot day. Comparatively Taronga zoo has more trees and shady places so it doesn't feel that hot even on hot days.
This is a great zoo which you can explore in 2 - 3 hours. It has all the main animals kept in a beautiful enclosures. My only recommendation is to visit on a cooler day and try to visit during the morning as there is a lack of shade at this zoo and it gets very hot in western Sydney
Absolutely amazing! Well worth a visit, easy to get around and great food options.
Really great zoo, very well set out & an easy walk. Loved the variety of animals
A new addition to Sydney’s west. A good 3 hour activity for young and old. Catering availability with healthy options. Ample parking, souvenir store. Does lack shade in some areas and I thought some of the enclosures are to small. But overall a fun experience.
Very planned Zoo to have a nice day out, love to see more animals, specially sea creatures but still it's a very good place to have a fun day with your family/friends, plenty of parking, toilets and good verity of food stalls and plenty of sitting areas.
This is a nice small zoo. The walk is almost flat the whole way round. Perfect for toddlers and when pushing a stroller. They have a good selection of animals. 2.5 hours would be about the right amount of time to spend here.
It was a very beautiful experience, it was our first time, I went wearing same outfits with my family, lots of compliments... I made those myself, Check out Qbrandy44 on Instagram if you would like to look fabulous with your family. ❤
Good place for kids in Western Sydney. Should take enough time to visit and enjoy. Plenty of available places to take rest and also enough spaces in the cafe. Wheel was awesome to ride and see Western Sydney, kids enjoyed a lot. Aquarium is relatively small but but blue light at the corners attracted kids. Was able to touch emu in Australian part and also good to see Penguin and some African animals. A good place to visit if you are in Western Sydney.
Had a lovely morning at the zoo. Ate lunch at the zoo Cafe and the food was cooked fresh and very yummy. Not too busy due to being a cloudy day.
New clean zoo, not as big as Taronga. You can cover the whole area within 3 hours. We went on a sunny day so the most of the animals were either sleeping or just sitting under a shade. Plenty of parking available. Various shades, sitting benches, toilets, and rubbish bins throughout the path. To my surprise, it has a multi-faith prayer room near to the exit as well, which is quite commendable and appreciated.
Nice zoo with a wide range of animals especially the Australian Animal exhibit. Loved it and the natural water sprays throughout the exhibits. Well thought team. Thanks it helped everybody to get through on hot days. Will definitely recommend!!!!
Grandkids loved it It us an easy walk and well laid out. Good pricing and easy parking
I quite enjoyed this zoo — I like that the entire zoo is on flat ground and you can see all the animals within a reasonable time without either getting bored or overwhelmed with the size. The Ferris wheel ride was also fun. The only issue is the shade for the animals is far away from the public. So it’s difficult to spot the animals on a very hot day. Overall, I had a good time ????
The kids loved the animals especially the reptile area and the aquarium. It was amazing to see the animals hopping about freely (we crossed paths with a kangaroo)! The walk is interspersed with 3 cafes, toilets, water refill stations and a play area. Lots of shaded areas with cooling systems for hot days. We used our Discover vouchers for our trip and really enjoyed ourselves.
Sydney Zoo is a lovely, pram-friendly zoo with an esplanade that is easy to walk around. This zoo is ideal for people with varied mobility. However, the exhibits are not very interactive, there is little shade and there are no real learning opportunities about the animals unless you pay extra. It is better laid out than Taronga but ultimately, Taronga is a better experience for a family with kids.
Nice place to visit with family and friends. Can cover entire zoo in half a day. Is not too tiring and has quite a few animals. Pandas are the star attractions and available to view from close quarters.
Nice place to spend your discovery vouchers, but you have to wait for a long queue to check up the vouchers, who spent money in full get priority to go through the door. Not many animals, they look tired and bored.
Zoo is quite well maintained and the staff is friendly and helpful. The only thing worth giving a thought is variety and number of animals they have. It has a nice gift shop for the souvenirs and a restaurant too for getting refreshed. Got drinking water facilities at a few places. The indigenous talk part is also worth it.
Not too large an area to walk around, lovely enclosures, animals close enough to see. Really great day out.
Had a great time. Busy 31st 2020. But entry was not busy as they welcome 1 hours interval. Covid safe regulations practiced well by the staff and they remind regularly about the distancing. Kids loved the day. Spend 5 hours but could finish it with 4 hours time.
Go early or go during the week, IF you’re going before the NSW Government Vouchers expire. we booked a 10-11am slot and it surprised us just how busy it was - the line was long but it moved pretty quickly. When we left at 12pm, the queue was massive.. *understatement* The zoo itself is really smart, great for kids and has a great range of animals without the backbreaking hills of Taronga.
Nice spacious zoo with a good number of animals. Design of the walk path ensures a nice view of the animals in spacious enclosures. There's a number of cafe's for eating and drinking and a Ferris wheel for kidsa and adults. There aren't any animals shows like Taronga Zoo or the reptile park, this is a place to see the animals relaxing in their own enclosures. Good outing with kids for a half day aventure.
Sydney Zoo is amazing! I cannot recommend this place enough. Easy walking, but wear your walking shoes! Whole family had a great day!
Went there in February with my nephews and niece. For a place that's small, and new compared to Taronga, Sydney Zoo is still pretty impressive. It's more accessible, not as steep as Taronga, so it makes walking around much easier, and the animals are well grouped and organised based on the themes, and continents. Looking forward to visiting again soon, and hopefully in the future, the zoo may expand, so we can see, and learn more in person.
Nice little zoo that is just big enough to be worth the ticket prices but just small enough for the kids to make it through the entire course. We were able to get a good view of most of the animals, so the kids really enjoyed it.
Great new zoo and pretty convenient to get to from most of Sydney. Annual passes are good value if you live within driving distance
It's an interesting place to visit if you have just half a day at hand... The zoo opens at 9 and closes at 5. Though small, there are special sights such as the majestic sibling lions, tiger, the elephants, etc. The reptile and the aquarium are smaller in comparison to Taronga zoo.. great place to spend with your kids on a day off.
Best place to see animals without getting exhausted. Flat surface being pram and wheelchair friendly throughout. Family with kids will have a blast.
My kids enjoyed the trip. The staff are friendly and helpful. The zoo is clean and its not crowded. Highly recommended. Worth every cent. ✨✨✨
Very hot not enough shade and the aquarium is stuffy and very dark but the kids will love it
Nicely presented and clean throughout the area. By the years come it will look more natural. Great place for family time.
It was a bit hot and crowded. We won't go again until the school children go back to school.
Nice, clean, great landscaping and well designed zoo. Enclosures are huge and easy to see animals. Great option for those who live in the west to have a proper zoo nearby. Good size shop which has a lot of different souvenirs. Not has as many animal as the other zoo but this zoo is 1 year old. Hope they’ll expand the zoo and add more animals like bears, hippos and rhinos. Needs a bit more shade in the walking paths. I’ve enjoyed overall and definitely will visit again.
Fantastically modern clean and spacious smaller scale zoo! The enclosures seem to be designed in such a way that the animal can be easily viewed, we were lucky enough to see most animals actively going about their day! Giraffes lions tigers various different species of monkeys to name but a few, the aquarium is great, the queue to the nocturnal animals was a little to long so we decided to give it a miss, So happy this zoo is pram and wheelchair friendly as it's pretty much all flat, the staff are helpful and informative, plenty of readily available FREE parking... My children loved our day out as did I, so thankful we bought those annual passes most definitely worth it! Well done Sydney zoo keep up the great work!
Great day out. Wide selection of animals housed in large open spaces. Our daughter had a super day. Impressed.
Good confined place for a nice relaxing time for kids. Since it’s a small place one is guaranteed to see all the animals. I took my 2 yr old and he was really happy to see the elephant and meerkats. The place has lot of eateries and shady areas.
A good Zoo which will get better with time, certainly worth the visit. The kids enjoyed it.
Perfectly Sized for a quick trip. The zoo takes around 2 - 3hrs at a comfortable pace. The enclosures have been designed to ensure the animals are all easy to view, even if they are resting. If you have small children this zoo is perfect, all the favorites are here, the layout is flat and as you walk there's never a moment when you cant see an exhibit. Cafes are onsite and there's plenty of parking. A really nice place to get your zoo fix without taking all day.
Very easy to walk around and mostly flat food little expensive but plenty of seating as well cabanas placed with cooling mist spray great idea and very welcome and good wheelchair access Thanks Colin
Easy walking around Zoo good variety of animals to see how a wonderful day out great food selection. A must to experience ????????????????????
Great familly time! We enjoy our walk and experience. Our little one loves animals. Very impressed about fact that we could see in real red panda. We had a lunch and coffee during breaks. I really recommend coffee as barista know what he doing. Coffee was great. The zoo did on me very good first impression. I will recomend to have at least 3h for visit.
Compact zoo with all the animals. Wheelchair and pram accessible throughout.
Well worth the visit. Large open areas so plenty of room to move around even when there is a large crowd
Awesome zoo for the West ???????????? Plenty of animals. Awesome Ferris wheel (extra charge) heaps of enjoyment for children and adults of all ages. Keep your eyes and ears out for the guides …
Zoo is new so well laid out. A bit short on number of animals so takes about 2 hours to cover the whole zoo. One warning once there be prepared to feel you are in middle east or India and not seeing many locals.
Great Zoo to explore, very easy to get to and not too big to walk around. Lots of animals to get you entertained. Very close to The animals as well. You do not feel that the animals were being locked in. Great experience.
Excellent. Plenty of staff and they were very friendly and helpful. A really good range of animals.
Go, you won't be disappointed, plenty of parking, perfect for those with prams, walkers or wheelchairs. Lots of places to sit and watch the animal's, waters bubblers scattered throughout the park, we had the best day. We went on a perfect winters day, I could be very hot there on a summers day.
Perfect zoo for kids and family with so many animals and not too much stretched in landscape. We were able to cover whole zoo in a few hours without getting too tired. There were cafes, eateries and toilets at short distances. There is a …
A very nice place to spent a good time with family and kids. Very spacious and very kid friendly. A total value of money. Totally worth the membership
It's a bit smaller than expected so you can easily spend a few hours here which is great for families who are a bit more strict on time. Lots of free parking outside and which is awesome compared to some other zoos. Lots of different animals but some of the enclosures are under you as you are walking on a bridge so it's a bit hard to see some of the animals up close. The monkey enclosures were built really well and you can spend a lot of time just sitting there watching them interact with each other. There's a really big cafeteria inside that serves burgers and fish n chips and all the kids favorites. Will recommend choosing the tables next to the meerkat enclosure which will keep the kids entertained. Zoo was also very clean and not very crowded but some of the ice cream and cafes were all closed due to covid which is a shame. Otherwise it's a great little zoo to take the kids to if you want to kill a bit of time.
Quite a big zoo. Lots of free parking spaces. Lots of animals. Many different kinds of monkey. I see lion, tiger, penguin, giraffe.... Kids love it.
Really surprising and enjoyed the day out with my family. It isn't cheep but nothing is really now a days. I definitely recommend a visit. Staff a very helpful and very friendly and the exhibitions are full of interesting and amazing animals. Check out Australia's largest nocturnal enclosure simply amazing.
Big in size but easy to walk. We spent 2.5 hours and covered it all. Animals are well taken care of. The places to eat look good(though I didn't eat), they serve food in eco-friendly tableware. It has a shop on the way out. They also have some random shaded spots around and must to keep you fresh in a hot day.
Around 40 min drive from Sydney CBD. A great place for kids and their families to stay for a day. A lot of parking space, arrive early to avoid crowds. Pre-purchase ticket to receive discounts and avoid long queues.
Visit on a good weather otherwise make sure you carry enough fluid... most of the animals hide in shade which makes them very hard to spot on a hot day.....a one time must intelligently designed to accommodate different animal species ...
We went during the week in the afternoon, it was lovely, so we'll set out & so easy to view the animals, they all look so content, as they should be with such a great home & loving care by the keepers. Friendly welcoming staff.
Wonderful, nice place but the only issue is that the canteen is too expensive. Ice creams and ice block's are $6.00 each which is not affordable. The entry fee is at least $50 and the food is also expensive. Overall the Zoo is nice and clean and the animals are well look aftered.
Good to have a Zoo out in the west. Nice range of animals - Zoo is big enough to do comfortable in under a day...
I spent 2.5 hours strolling around mid week and had a really relaxed time. They have Australia Africa and reptiles so all different areas to walk too I just walked around the park in like a circle. The park was nearly empty so I could take my time and enjoy the animals. The staff were really friendly and welcoming. It was a nice break from the hustle of Sydney it felt like I really was overseas. I think all the animals seemed happy. My fave were the meerkats they were so cute!
Great experience... loved the African animals the most...! I'm definitely visiting more often, I literally live 5min! But just wish the enclosures were bigger... ???????????????????????????? p.s. happy birthday to my baby boy, 2 yrs today!!
We spent over 4 hours here 2weeks ago. I my wife and 23 years old son. All of us thoroughly enjoyed the Zoo. The highlight were the Meerkats and the Baboons. Just a hint, you may think there are no animals tone seen in a particular enclosure, but they may be resting unseen. Try coming back a bit later.
Had a great time visiting Sydney zoo for the first time, easy to find and parking is free which was a bonus. The line to enter was long but went pretty quickly, once inside getting around was easy as everything Is well signed and in a loop. roos hopping around and lazing on grass area with emus was amazing to see. It's a very close up experience as long as you respect their space, it's very flat and no stairs so getting around is easy, very accessible especially for those who are disabled, they have scooters to rent if you need it. Animals are very friendly which is nice they don't shy away from people and many will approach you to say hello.
This is an awesome zoo for a nice family day out. Lots of shaded areas, water misters keeps you cool on hot days, animals seem well looked after. Parking close to the zoo is limited so the earlier you are the better. I would recommend at least 2 hours to appreciate and maximise your time at the zoo especially if you have keen young ones that love animals. Nice touch with the Ferris wheel attraction. $8 per person 3 yrs and over.
Sydney Zoo was a great experience for me and my six students with special needs. The zoo is well organised, clean, spacious, and has an overall great feel to it. Thank you to the lovely staff who were accepting and helpful during our visit from Mortdale!
Great day out nice and flat good vision of the animals
A pity the otters were nowhere in sight as they are one of my faves. Double dose of meerkats almost made up for it. The nocturnal house was impressive. Not much shade so best enjoyed in the cooler months.
Lovely open spaces, plenty of room to move around and see the exhibits. Much smaller than other zoos, can be done in a few hours. No steps or hills, easily accessed by all ages and abilities. Membership is well worth it, great value and 10% off in stores/cafes when you're there.
what a great zoo.credit to the people that design the place, very close to the animals.
Wonderful zoo, each time I visit, I can't believe how active the animals are. They seem very well treated and happy. The area is easy to walk. Great access to parking. All in all a great zoo.
Amazingly new zoo vibes there. Good cafe and big place for animals.
An amazing place to be. On e of the best well maintained zoo’s I have seen so far.
It is perfect for a family day out. It has a variety of animals. There are plenty of parking space and convenient location in Sydney west. Only it could be bigger.
A great place, bring bottles of water if its hot. Lots of animals to look at & great for families.
Fantastic day out to explore a great variety of animals. Lots of shade for hot days, big enclosures for the animals and an easy flow throughout the zoo. Prices are reasonable, parking is free and we loved how much we got to see. Highly recommend the ferris wheel for the additional charge to entry ticket
First time here at Sydney Zoo. Travelling from south Sydney, was a breeze to get to the zoo. …
Excellent way to spend your day. The zoo keepers are simply amazing. The animal feeding sessions and talks are great. You can see the animals so close during the talks. The best was the Koala talk where the koala was actively eating and …
Back the second time and a year in between. The zoo is still buzzing with all the right energies. This is totally a different experience to Toronga in its size and layout. Each exhibition is designed to maximise viewing opportunities for the visitors whilst providing space and simulation for the animals. The flyover walking deck are really nice to get a birds eye view over the African displays. Also worthy to note that the animals all appeared to be very healthy compared to some other zoos i have been. There are a lot of family friendly features so that the parents can also enjoy the day too. As with the first visit i would remove or improve the sushi offering at the restaurant. Otherwise i would highly recommend this zoo to all comers.
Had a good experience. The dusty paths are quite flat for a stroller and easy to navigate. A good mix of animals that you can probably complete in a couple of hours.
Animals have lots of space and the zoo is quite flat, easy for pram and wheel chairs. It has good variety of animals. There are no birds. Aquarium inside the zoo is average. They have done quite good arrangement to save from hot weather. Because it's new zoo the trees are small and it will take some time to grow. There are no animal shows like in Taroonga zoo. It's not a full day zoo you can spend few hours as the zoo is not that big. Plenty of option for food and lots of parking available. Overall its OK.. but in few years this zoo will be definitely worth a visit. Avoid going there on sunny days as its getting hot in Sydney.
A very nice zoo. Not to big but plenty to see. Some restaurants are there so you can take a break and grab a snack. Animals seemed happy and well looked after.
Great local zoo with lots of different animals! It’s well organised but can get a little bit crowded. There isn’t a lot of staff around though, this unfortunately encourages some people to start throwing things at the animals.
First time here, my kids enjoyed it. It was a busy day luckily it wasn't as hot as a normal summers day. We took food and drinks with us in a beach trolley. Food and drinks and ice cream are available but pricey. Good layout, flat surface …
What a great new attraction! Well worth visiting for Sydney siders and tourists alike. Well laid out with plenty of attractions to keep you and the kids interested and plenty of food outlets to keep you energised. The design is perfect for those on wheels and getting a visual on the animals. Of particular note is the nocturnal section including insects - fantastic!
Great atmosphere, lots to see, a lot of the animals seemed to be looked after, was able to use the government $25 voucher to get in, could take photos without the flash, lots of parking, expensive food.
A decent zoo with a good collection of animals from across the globe. Accessible pathway for prams and wheelchairs to all areas makes the experience enjoyable for families and elderly alike. Clean toilets are a plus alongside mist cooling …
We visited for sunset on a summer day, it was a perfect way to spend until late night for families and couples alike. The staff are friendly, covid safe as they limit number of patrons. Note that they check NSW voucher against the service app. They even gave vouchers to use for ferriswheel ride and drinks, which is a plus! Clean and a lot of room to move, easy to navigate. Overall it was a fun relaxing experience.
My kids loved it, not huge area yet covers most of the animals. Lots of fun, very central and accessible.
Nice Zoo, my kids linked it. Big car park. There're some cafes inside so you can have some food, specifically some cold drinks, ice-cream etc. in hot summer days.
A great peaceful place for a family or friends day out. Highly recommended. Special for children.
Really enjoyed the zoo, went early in the morning when they opened. Plenty of parking and not far to walk, loved that the whole zoo was an easy flat surface to walk. My little ones really enjoyed it and to be honest I enjoyed it just as much. Could see all of the animals clearly and plenty of room to move around. A wonderful place to visit for any age also is wheelchair accessible
Really good experience. If I compare to other known Zoos in Sydney I have to say Sydney Zoo is best for its design being a figure 8 you get to see everything. It's flat so easy for elderly and wheelchair access (and tired kids). Would like every enclosure to have visible access though, as the cheetah and orangutan couldn't be seen in there enclosures.
Not a bad zoo. They offer a 5:30pm option but toilets and cafes were closed as well as the gift shop. Lots of empty areas and some animals not on display after 5pm which they don’t tell you about. Display glass was dirty in most displays which made getting photos hard.
Lovely staff, reasonable prices at the restaurant and amazing animal exhibits!
Great wildlife park, lots of high walkways and animals look well looked after. The Aboriginal element to the park is also thoughtful. The elephants were our favourite but the kids love the free roaming kangaroos.
A perfectly designed zoo.. so many animals that are hard to find. There's 4 lions, 3 elephants, 3 hyenas, 2 giraffes, 2 zebras, 2 cheetahs, 2 tigers and many other animals. The Australian animals section is fascinating. Many types of snakes and rodents, plenty of relaxed kangaroos, joyful wallabies, attention seeking emus and the well loved koalas. Seating areas Infront of the animals is a great idea. Small cafes all around the zoo, a lot of restrooms and many water filling stations. I loved the place, the annual family membership is well worth it! Definitely my favourite zoo!
This zoo has it all over Taronga Zoo. They have an excellent variety of exhibits there, and plenty of opportunities for the kids to interact with the animals. Additionally, you don't have to walk up and down the hill all day long just to get to and fro the exhibits. There is excellent parking available, and the pricing is quite reasonable given what is on offer. My only criticism would be the variety of food on offer is rather limited in scope. The food prices, whilst higher than I would prefer, are not unreasonable for a captive audience. Overall, a recommended de.
Great place to visit! Ample of parking available and very easy to get around for everyone from different walks of life. It's quite flat with no steps or slopes. Good number of wild animals to encounter including aquatic and nocturnal …
It's always great experience visiting the new western Sydney zoo! You're able to spend some quality time with the kids at the zoo where they get to know all the animals and also having the opportunity to pet and feed some of them!
We love Sydney Zoo. It's a must see for all ages. We have been 3 times so far and each time something new. Very clean and lovely to walk around
A nice little Zoo in Western Sydney which will be a fun for all that you can cover in half day. You can see big cats, reptiles and a small aquarium with fish, small penguins and crocodile. You can see wallaby, ostrich, koala and other four leg animals as well monkey, chimpanzee and orangutan and meerkats. Overall it will be a great fun for kids without spending all day.
Definitely a great day out with the family! Highly recommend even with toddlers cause there has space to walk and all mostly very even and pram accessible. The animals seem few but they have set themselves up for a great number of future developments. The animals looks happy and healthy. The zones are easy to navigate without the map and the areas are all well designed. There are undercover spots unlike other zoos in Sydney. They are well appointed with water mists for hot days and are a great reprieve from the sun. Well done guys! The walking bridge is unique and awesome. Seeing the ostrich, giraffe, lions and wild dogs from different angles. The playful elephants were a treat and highly recommended. We thought they were not there and were initially sad. But it was wonderful to see them pushing each other around. I didn't get time to eat at the venue. But the burgers looked and smelt fantastic and were everywhere. Patron favourite. Post COVID, there are schedules but once inside and after noon, it gets hectic and very minimal distance out in open areas and inside buildings. It can be hard as you can imagine.
Very well thought out zoo. There are regular places to sit down, misting sprays to cool you down, and of course, a huge selection of animals. We particularly loved watching the Chimpanzees and Lions. …
Facilities very well maintained, clean and easy to navigate. Very well priced tickets with lots of parking spaces. The animal enclosures were also very well kept which made it more pleasant
Great experience, we went on a hot day and there were places with a mist shower which were super helpful. Clean and well maintained
I did the tiger encounter today and it was fantastic. I was lucky enough to be the only person booked in, and I had three very professional zoo staff with me. The tigers are magnificent and seem happy and comfortable in their environment. Many thanks guys for helping me achieve my dream of interacting with tigers!
Beautiful zoo with so many animals, reptiles and sea life to see. There is lion, chitah, tiger, elephants a number of snakes and shark.
Enjoyed our time there. We didn t get to see all of the zoo, so we will go back in cooler weather, as it was a hot day and when we stopped under the fans and misters to cool off it slowed us. Some of the animals were hiding away from the …
