REVIEWS OF Kicking Horse Mountain Resort IN Kimberley

Cheryl Phillips

What an amazing place. Family friendly and an awesome place for beginners. Top of mountain is exceptional with views and amazing powder all over. Never experienced champagne powder till I went here. The family had so much fun! This is a new tradition for us! We love kicking horse!

Roman Tsaturian

Good terrain and awesome with a fresh dump. Black Diamond coffee shop is fantastic, gondola line up always long but moves fairly consistently. Great back country hiking options with obvious signs and ropes.

Lance G

Great ski hill. A new ski hill. Stairway to heaven is fun. Some very challenging seations.

Eric Lewis

I enjoyed the gondola ride to the top, what a cow of the mountains, esp. on a sunny day!

Elle Ash

Went here for a day of lift riding. Spectacular scenery, good facilities. Bike was poorly set up however, and resulted in a couple of crashes despite stopping into the shop for adjustments, so that was a bit of a let down for how much money I spent on the rental. Trails are fast and rough (not ideal for beginners) and there are enough to spend most of the day riding new runs. Gondola goes right over Boo, the resident grizzly, which is so cool to see.

Alex Ross

Nice place

Olga Blais

Not a single brake bumps. Fantastic trails. Glorious view!

Jing Lu

Excellent gondola, 20 minutes ride to top of mountain and beautiful view at the top.

Sebastian Toplician

Julia B

Great mountain!! Lots if tough terrain so it really challenges You! It's so nice having a gondola up the mountain rather than a lift as it keeps you much warmer! Outstanding views from the top of the gondola!

BiSDaX YYC

Great mountain for intermediate to expert level snowboarder or skier. I highly recommend staying at the resort, there is plenty of cabins or condo style housing accommodations at the base of the hill.

C M

Great service Gondola for a whole day use Great hikes but not for everyone I guess Smokey air till now

Andrew Campbell

Large amounts of advanced terrain the hotel was mostly comfortable and the eagles eye restaurant was very good but pricey

Lukáš Horyna

Definitely steep. For advanced skiers only. It's not very fun for piste skiers. IF you want to test your skills this resort is a must ski. It will get your legs in amazing shape for long, steep lines on some of the worlds best skiing.

Neil Douville

This is an ski mountain that has unique terrain attributed to its drop-in from the top of the mountain. We went late Feb and the snow was so-so; some rocks still apparent. Groomers were great on the lower side of the mountain. The staff here were friendly and helpful, especially the chair lift staff. We also did some hiking off Palliser Rd, though it was unmarked so we turned back after 2.5k. Overall a good experience here. I would recommend staying on the mountain.

Grady Hampton

Beautiful scenery and year round outdoor activities

Alex Lee

Seeing boo up close was amazing. The gondola ride up was so cool and views from the top were breathtaking

Tom Wolf

One the best ride i’ve ever had! Awesome experience definitely will be coming back ????????hell yeah! ????

Francois Asselin

This is one of the greatest skill hills in the BC/AB Rockies. Amazing terrain selection for all levels. When it snows there are few places that compare. Crowds disperse throughout the hill even if the line for the Gondola is long. One of the best views ever from the top of the mountain. Novice to expert, there is something for everyone here.

Adam Frank (frankyfreeride)

good place to ski if you are ready for black diamonds.

Danielle Bergen

Love this mountain resort, specially the Gondola ride and the view is breathtaking

Michelle Marykuca

Awesome mountain for advanced terrain. If you know how to ski well you won't be disappointed. Love this place.

Miriam Pasag

Absolute blast. Rented their downhill bikes which work excellently. Will definitely return!

Christine Neufeld

Awesome resort for freeride skiing all around. Have to come again ????

MATJAŽ PINTAR

Great resort! We spent a week here mountain biking, hiking, and rafting. Staff was friendly and helpful, though it was difficult to reach the front desk by phone. Had to call numerous times before anyone would answer. We had 2 bear sightings during our stay. Once while biking and once close to our building, so be aware and prepared.

Derek Woods

Great mountain. Challenging terrain. Long runs.

Dragosh Catana

Love the ski resort, and a small community feel. However, we found over the holidays that the cafeteria gets crazy busy with absolutely no place to sit down during lunch, and not enough turn around. Also, wish there were more divided sections on the hill, as transitions between runs are not as clear. Fog didn't help either. But we still enjoyed our day!

Olga Courtnage

If for some reason you don't get to see Boo, they will give you a voucher for another visit. We went for an 11am tour, should have gone for 10am as it was hot out and 10am was the first tour so Boo was active and hungry. By 11 it was warm out and he was hard to find, we were given the voucher and came back for the 3pm tour on the same day and well.... We weren't disappointed! The chair lift up to Boo was great. We also went on the Gondola, and ate lunch at the Eagle Eye Restaurant before going back to the 3pm tour. The view from the mountain top was absolutely stunning! Really humbles a person who hasn't grown up next to them!

Debra McLarty

Great time here! Avoided holiday season and came by Monday and Tuesday. Minimal amount of people. Had one on one lesson with John is highly recommended if you are thinking of a lesson. Made you feel safe and comfortable and learned a few tricks that even my more experienced husband and kids started using. All the staff at a rental shop and on the lifts were great!!!

Kane Richards

Loved our time there with family and friends. Tough to beat 27cm of snow the first night we were there and then 20cm the second night. We found powder stashes over our knees for the four days we were there. I lost a ski after a fall on T-2 that took us about an hour to find in the deep pow. Great memories.

Luke Kitching

I don't recommend the Gandola unless you are going to go mountain biking. The trails were not maintained to the degree that they could hardly be accessed because of a big snow in the beginning point, at the end of June! Honestly it did not worth the money.

Thomas Tkachyk

Beautiful mountain with lots of terrain for all levels. The bowls here are amazing!

Kalum Iverson

Excellent biking facilities in the summer. And great hiking trails.

Ziyad Edher

One biiiiig gondola right up the middle. From there, go left or right and it's some fairly challenging terrain. Not a place for newbies or little ones, but I had fun. Like Terminator the best & since you gotta hike up a short distance to it, it's slow to get tracked out. Cool place with an authentic feel.

Alex Wilks

We did the Via Ferrata Ascension tour and it was so fun! Great intro to outdoor climbing if you've never done it before because it's so safe and easy to use the bars and steps here. Lenka was our guide and she was wonderful. Super patient, knowledgeable, friendly and encouraging, especially for those who are initially nervous. She also took wonderful photos for us which was so appreciated. I'd highly recommend doing at least one of the tours but definitely the ascension one! There's a fun suspension bridge, ropes, ladders, vertical climbs and even a tightrope portion. You'll be so glad you did it!

L. L.

Heavenly place for nature lover. Pet friendly.

Levi and Victoria Films

Authentic via ferrata experience if you have muscle strength ???? sure do it, mountain bikers heaven ♥

Olga Semenchik

Amazing views, the only reason this is 4 star is because the gondola is quite expensive.

Kyle Passamare

Went up the Gondola and hiked up a high area with snow. I saw a marmot too. It was a nice time

Brianne Leys

Great mountain. My family has just labeled this our favorite hill. Lots of advanced runs for the older kids and tons of fun blues for the younger ones. Accommodations on the hill are top shelf we will be returning again this season. I am concerned about the road construction planned for the next 4yrs, I appreciate the long term win for this but not sure if the logistics will work out for us until that construction project is completed. This is a minor problem and doesnt in any way affect the quality of this hill, it is just a travel hurdle that we will personally evaluate for vacation choices.

Brandon Greely

Not one thing on your website mentioned there is no rv parking anywhere on the resort. Noticed certain forums saying there is free rv parking in the winter. Loaded up the bikes and drove to golden, showed up hill was open hardly any vehicles in the parking lot probably half of them rvs. I've never seen it this empty. But A ton of signs say no rv parking anywhere on resort. And I travel with my bikes in my rv. Didnt feel very welcomed even though there were allready rvs in the parking lot. Guess my day will be spent traveling over to fernie instead of on your hill. Not sure how you can say no rv parking (sprinter vans, truck campers, motorhomes, campervans) how is anyone supposed to get from there campsite to your hill if they dont have a detachable rv. Deffinatly a waste of a good day, not sure how you guys can be turning people away when your this slow.

Robert Luciani

Great hill in the Rockies. Try to make it every year. Definitely I’m worth the drive for the terrain and snow.

SAT 4X4

Had an amazing time Skiing⛷at Kicking Horse???? Mountain Resort the last 2 days...big bowls, fresh snow❄& tons of steep terrain...what more could we ask for. The lines were reasonable and definitely felt safe with their current COVID-19 Protocols. Staff were all very friendly. ⛷❄ Looking forward to a day of X-Country Skiing on the Nordic Trails tomorrow.

Clint Monken

We have a lot of Fun. Worth going here for mountain biking or Hiking..

Deirdre Piggott

Extremely helpful staff. Awesome skiing with alot of fresh snow.

Devon Snider

Really beautiful resort with really awesome staff and people.

Elie Maalouf

Great hill in the summer for hikes, biking, sightseeing. I love snowboarding here in the winter. The downhill trails are great and they also have really good food at the base.

Janet Clarke Bell

Loved this resort. The terrain was amazing (especially coming from CA where there's been little to no snowfall), the food/coffee was well priced, and everyone was so nice. Will definitely make an attempt to return next season

Trevor Richmond

Love love love kicking horse

Brad Neave

Amazing mountain, 4000'+ of vertical, amazing bowls, hiking to ski terrain, & steeps! Food options are fantastic!

The Family Law Firm

I don't feel safe with sharing medical information with a ski hill.

Kevin Baroni-smith

Amazing!! Staff was extremely welcoming and polite. Also very knowledgeable. Environment was well kept and clean. Not to mention the scenery was just breathtaking! So worth it highly recommend

Christina Calhoun

We took the Gondola up today and ate atop the mountain at the Eagle's Eye. Food and service were amazing. Then we took the chair lift up to see Boo, the Grizzly, in his refuge area. What a sight. What a view. Our 5th time visiting. Family pass made it so afford

Geoff Easterbrook

Sweet runs, lots and lots of powder, amazing views. The only thing I didn't like was that they closed early when I was there but other than that It was quite an enjoyable experience.

Eric

Great slopes at this little resort. Some hiking required to get to the best areas.

Phillip Pickett

Absolutely fabulous ! One of the best ski resorts i have been to so far ! The snow quality is simply amazing !

Travel Talk

Stopped by on my way through the area, the resort is beautiful, what a nice place to be. The resort was fully in summer mode and we were only there for a bite to eat and a casual look around. The road up to the resort should be a time trial course, it was glorious, the main lodge has a couple restaurants to chose form, picked the more loungey sit down place, food was... pretty good for standard pub fair, service was on the slower inattentive side. This is the first N Murray owned asset that gets less than 5 star to, but it is OK.

Mike Tanyi

Known for its incredible skiing in the winter, spring and summer bring awe inspiring views and adventure! Hike, bike, enjoy vistas and cuisine! Always something to do @kickinghorseresort!

Dan Popovici

Had the best powder of my life here in Kicking Horse! Nice and long slopes but definitely a resort for more advanced skiers or boardes.

Rhea Mae Dungog

Preem mountain biking! Expect rocks, gnarly wooden features, and a beautiful alpine zone.

Tyler Crichton

Such a beautiful mountain for skiing. Breathtaking views too.

Dominic Mazur

I highly recommend the Gondola and the restaurant. The view from up there is stunning!

Sung Ahn

Nice skii resort, hills for all levels, and the food is decent, especially the chicken ranch wrap.

Matt Hiebert

Steep terrains but tons of fun here! Epic view at the mountain ridges as well!

Samuel Edwards

Loved it - one if the kind spot for sure

Blair Jamieson

This is a great resort. Skiing in the winter is very good and in the summer there is lift access mountain biking with numerous downhill trail options ranging from green to expert. There is a couple pubs at the bottom of the hill and a coffee shops so you can have a beer or coffee between laps! Say hi to Boo the grizzly bear in the summer months too!!! ????

Cristhel pipper

Some of the most breathtaking views from the top. If you are not advanced skier the run down is along a narrow cat trail. Not enough easier runs from the top.

Harley Fox

Went here for mountain biking and the eagle eye restaurant. The resort was incredible, the staff were all very friendly and the mountain biking trails were amazing. Would definitely come back here if I'm ever in the area.

R J

Fantastic mountain with great variety of slopes for all levels. Very scenic and beautiful resort. The main gondola takes you right to the very top so even no skiers can enjoy the views or meal, drink at the Eagle Eye restaurant.

will sco

Shame on your resort for enforcing a divisive policy. People's medical information is private and none of your concern.

Bojan Gilic

Very technical hill with lots of steep terrain. Wasn't too impressed with the lift capacity. Just go early.

Joao Farinha

This place is fun ! Really love how staff ask after your ride, how was experience. Definitely recommend to go place for adventurous day.

Vaughn Bender

Great mountain, snow conditions were excellent, good experience and the gondola from bottom all the way to the top is nice. Just don’t get half-day tickets as they’re disproportionally priced and less than an actual half-day.

Aliaksandr Krauchanka

A really nice vacation destination with lots of summer and winter activities.

Kris. Carr.

Went up the gondola and walked the trail to the mountain side. Beautiful views.

Dhruv Patel

Beautiful! Everyone was very friendly, Ceasars were awesome at the Eagle Eye, and food was delicious

Kevyn McGregor

Great resort for easily getting up to some steep stuff quickly. Very vertical mountain with riding on the east face. Amazing views, and well staffed.

Alberta Biker

Awesome view and ski resort

Rick E.

This is a great ski resort this was my first time snowboarding here and i liked it was a good time.

Mark McLennan

Beautiful place. It is fairly remote if that is something you do or do not want.

Jules

Fantastic views of the rockies from the gondola and the grizzly bear refuge was great!

Erik Koning

This was our first time at Kicking Horse & my son Loved it. He biked for 2 days & said it was one of his favorite spots to ride. The restaurants had great food & service ????

Wyatt Baker

Wow. Steep, powdery, very nice.

Troy Layne

My #1 pick for an amazing skiing trip! Fantastic staff good food and most importantly some of the best skiing around.

Megan Penno

Absolutely spectacular views and fresh pow! Brought my friend from Chicago up to snowboard!

Cynthia Chan

Beautiful views and a fun ride up the Gondola! Even though it was smoky we made the best of it and it cleared up a little after a few hours. We hiked for a few hours and then went to see Boo the bear. I'm appreciative of his well being and that they are taking care of him in a sustainable way. Excited to come here in the winter!

Shawn K

If you want to buy day passes ski at another resort. It took over an hour to get a lift ticket. It was not a busy day and there were 4 people ahead of me in line. The staff was not adequately trained to sell tickets and there were 1-2 windows (out of 4) open during the time I was in line despite the line growing. When I got to the ticket window and tried to obtain the friends and family ticket my season pass holder father had paid for, the employee did not now that those existed and I had to convince her to find out how to get be the ticket that was already paid for.

Joseph B Scott

Fantastic 2 days of skiing here at Kicking Horse, we just could have used some new powder.

Colin Parker

I've traveled to Kicking Horse from Ontario about 5 times now, I haven't gotten tried of it yet. I'm a seasoned snowboarder who is use to places like Tremblant and small Ski Resort around Ontario so it is amazing to travel to Kicking Horse to take on a mountain. Even their easiest runs are challenging and at some points a bit daunting. If you are just learning to snowboard or ski I would not recommend coming to Kicking Horse. At best you will be taking off your gear and walking certain spots and at worst can get yourself into serious trouble. There is not a lot stopping you from going from a green run to a double black diamond in a hurry.

JOJO TV

Covid gouging.... They raised lift ticket price because kids are not going back to school right away. Terrible service.

Johnathan Clarkson

Ride the Kicking Horse Gondola 7,700 ft. above Sea level & you'll be rewarded with Spectacular views

Harneek Kapoor

Lots of steep runs. Wasn't too busy in comparison to the larger hills I've been too. If you're on the experienced side of skiing/boarding this hill is definitely for you and pushing your skills a bit farther. Would definately come back to explore some more. Spent most of my time at T1 T2 and T3.

Jeff Roux

I can only say good things about this place. One of my favourite places to snowboard. Lots of vertical, some big open spaces. Located about 10-15 minutes from Golden BC. Few spots to eat on the hill. Great facilities and amazing views from the top, when it’s not clouded. Not marked very well, but that didn’t really cause any issues.

Brittney T

Finally back at Kicking Horse and with the kids now and we had a blast! Great conditions and the boys added a few new black diamonds to their collection, lol!

Nitesh Gupta

The view alone is worth coming! 360 degree of unobstructed view of the Rockies and Columbia valley! Snow here is much dryer than BC coastal mountains i.e. Whistler Blackcomb. You need to be an advanced to expert skier/snowboarder to truly enjoy the vast off piste terrains. 4 bowls in total, many skiable runs. The only downside is the limited number of lifts, essentially only one gondola and one chair for the upper mountain. Hopefully future expansion will improve this. We stayed at the Mountaineer Lodge, which is just to the left of the Eagle’s Express gondola. Standard 2 bedroom condo with fully equipped kichen, washer and dryer. The beds are comfortable, linens fresh. Wifi and Netflix are provided free of charge. Locker room for ski is located on the main floor, with boot and glove dryers, yay! Hot tub is 10 person maximum, but it was never too crowded during our stay. Really enjoyed the dry sauna and steam room too! Food at the Eagle’s Eye restaurant is surprisingly delicious, take advantage of the amazing view that comes with it! It’s our 2nd time staying in this resort, highly recommend if you like to ski some fine powder and challenging slopes! Price for lodging is very affordable too.

David Reds

Nice place with comfortable bed. Would stay again.

Tonya Dodd

What a beautiful place! Very friendly staff. Eagle laofge is beautiful with stunning views. Great place to hike. We will be back this winter! Simple things such as a water fountain to fill up water bottles are missing near the bathrooms and hiking trail maps feel incomplete. Disc golf course is a great start and with some better defined tee boxes will be a great course to play.

MLee Larson

Loved it great places to stay and wonderful ski hill (you have to be good (black diamond-double black diamond skill) and maybe willing to hike a bit to really fully enjoy this place)

Eric Pelletier

First time at this resort. We didn't know just how far out if the town of Golden is ...well, when you think it's on the outskirts everything seems far. LoL. But ....a beautiful and cozy resort, quiet given that it's away from the town, right at the bottom of the ski slopes. One can quickly get an impression that there are plenty of stars to see on the clear moonless night. We will.defonitely come back.

salif puravida

Lift infrastructure terrible, long lines on gondola, need a bigger lodge and grooming subpar.

Naoko Fujimaki

Great mountain, great customer service, terrible gondola setup. Lines can be over a 1.5 hour wait at the bottom. They badly need another lift that can take patrons from the bottom of the mountain to the stairway chair. Invest in the infrastructure please.

Olivia Stewart

What a mountain! Such a great time. Beautiful scenery. Good bars and restaurants and amazing riding on awesome terrain.

Mahsa Ghaffari

Need to be injected to get on a chairlift. What a shame!

Greg Doornink

Awesome place, two different gondola / chair lifts, and you get to see a grisly bear if you are lucky)

Victor Xia

First of all the mountain is steep, understand that. The views are gorgeous, pictures won't do it justice and you'll never get tired of them - when you're actually taking them in and not watching your line. Ive only been riding for two years and was able to do some black runs, including the Swamp Donkey but it's not a place to mess around. There are some runs with no room for error so definitely respect the ride and learn the trails. Last line for the gondola runs at 4:30 and it can take roughly an hour to fully descend so I recommend getting there when it opens.

Zubair Akthar

This mountain is amazing! So many different paths to take down, its hard to try them all. I also love that they have a gondola to the top. Not every hill has that and it makes the difference being able to take off your helmet and gloves for a few minutes. I can't wait to go back.

Brian Lee

Had a nice weekend getaway to the British Columbia side of the Rocky Mountains and enjoyed every minute of it! This resort is a short scenic drive up the mountain from Golden, BC and offers beautiful views in all directions. The dining options are terrific (couple of them are $$$ but I am sure the food is amazing) and the atmosphere at the resort is buzzing. Our unit at the Palliser Lodge was very nice and relaxing and just a short walk from the lifts and shops. We will be back for sure!

Matt

Yaaasssss! This place ????????! T1 & T2 are the place to be if you want the views and the adrenaline rush! Yes, it’s a hike to get to them but believe me it’s worth it! The Crystal Bowl is powder paradise! As a family this is our “go to” for playing around, falling, getting back up, smiling, and keeping going! This resort is definitely more of an intermediate to expert resort but they do have a few family trails that the whole crew can play around on and enjoy! ????

Minji Kim

Opening day Dec 7, 2018 great powder, great terrain and could go from top to bottom which is awesome for this early in the season. Rocky in places but it is still early days as it needs a thicker base.

Erin B

Always a beautiful time in Kicking Horse. Stayed in the Aspen condos and LOVE having our own hottub and BBQ. Was very well stocked with utensils and what not to cook. Also visited the pubs there and had a great time at those! The one on the hill has huge portions of food and was super tasty.

Tristan Klassen

Kicking horse resort has plenty to offer. I personally visited during the summer so that's what I'll write about. Also, I must mention I never stayed at the lodge, just at the houses right next to the lodge. In any case, the resort in the summer has a few main attractions. The resort had a highly developed technical bike track, a bear sanctuary, and a gondola that takes you up to a restaurant/ sightseeing area. I personally went up the gondola and up onto the peak to sight seeing. I would highly recommend going to the top for a light hike or serious climb. If you have small kids or a grandparent, you could most likely have them come to the top to walk the various trails.

stickkueezy

Can't wait for my third full season! KHMR is suitable for all ability levels, but if you want to push your limits this is the place to do it. It's absolutely world class terrain and snow. Period. And fantastic staff on all fronts, too. People come from all over the world to set their personal benchmark here. What you're really getting is a gondola ride to heli-skiing terrain. A ten to twenty minute hike will get you the steep, fresh goods even in the afternoon. Lines can get long at any resort but in my experience its the "10am crowd" that gripe the most... Get there for 8am and you'll have no such grounds for complaint. (See photo.) Finally, don't park your gear in the maze and plop down at the coffee shop only to mosey over to the front of the line for 8:45am . That's just lost and found gear around here.

Dani Bray

Awesome resort! I've boarded at most of the inland resorts in BC, and for in bounds boarding, Kicking Horse is the gnarliest by far. Really nice in the summer too, and crazy downhilling too. Easy access with the gondola, and just a beautiful place to be.

David Brown

One of the best skiing runs and snow in Rocky. ????⛷????

Maya Mitchell

Siiiiiick hill!!! Lots of amazing alpine runs and beautiful views! Considering moving to Golden just to be near!

JJ Rushton

Beautiful view from the top most of the runs are for a fairly advanced skier or rider. But if you don't mind black Dimond runs there is lots of terrain.

Scott Walker

Awesome place for skiing in winter and mountain biking in Summer, if it's within your budget. This is a ski in & Ski out type lodge with lifts right on site.

Harjinder Kaur

Super friendly and active community

Conrad Seymour

Great views and hiking. Came here in July and had a wonderful afternoon exploring the mountain and having lunch at the top

Nie mand

Beautiful area, friendly people and gorgeous homes and views ( even with the smoke, lol)

Cheyenne Parizeau

Great resort, and fun to visit Boo the Bear. Mountain biking, skiing both recommended here as well.

Acacia W

Good luck for more then 1 hour wait for a lift even in a weekday, can’t imagine the weekend. They have very very few and super slow lift, there are tons of people waiting in lines. Otherwise The Mountain is super good.

Y Lu

Service was great while there but we had some issues. Despite a few messages left, due to no one picking up the phone, we still haven't received a call back.

L Fong

I was here in August and it was amazing. It doesn't look like much from the base, but getting the lift ticket to the summit is 100% worth it (it's cheaper than the Banff lift). You can hike, go dirt bike riding, or take amazing photos! And as a bonus we saw Boo the bear bathing in the gondola ride down.

April Erin MacHattie

Great day...great resort...only reason not 5 stars is takes too long to get on the Goldola at the bottom and really limits your runs

John Newberry

Perfect snow conditions ????

Paula Sheehy

Outstanding skiing with a wide range of runs. The grooming and hill conditions were exceptional.

Browser Sydney

Amazing snow, gnarly terrain. This place isn't for the faint of heart but still lots of options for beginners. Great time all around.

Steven Benjamin

Absolutely sick mountain!!! The trails have an old school free ride feel to them. 100% would go back

Adnan E

Must stop. Deffo worth it. Make sure you hike round to T1 or T2... and stop at the top of the chairlift for one of the best belly-up-bar-views ever.

Scott Irvine

My first trip skiing out west. The snow was amazing. It was the most beautiful place, I'm already planning my next trip. I would say the mountain is steep, it's for intermediate to advances skiers. I went to another resort about an hour away and immediately regretted it. This is the spot and mainly because of that dry fluffy powder. I had been about 10 days since the last big dump but the snow was still beautiful. I love Kicking Horse and I will be back!

Rob Bergman

Definitely one of the most challenging ski resort in NA. Hike up to the terminator peak for fun powder runs. Great coffee in the village as well.

Edgar Resbo

The Via Ferrata Ascension Route was absolutely worth it!

Tima Dehghani

most favorite ski resort. the Via-Faretta in the summer is a MUST DO. also BOO the Bear is nice to visit. Boarding is INTENSE and by far the most fun of all the hills i have been to. Prefer Kicking horse over Revelstoke.

Rob Burns

First time at Kicking Hoarse Ski Resort, friendly and professional staff. Definitely enjoyed the gondola ride and hike. I would recommend hiking up to T2 peak, excellent views. Definitely will be back.

Tim Stevens

One of the most extreme resort I've been too. Loved it all. You should at least hike one of the peaks. Feuz, terminator 1 or 2 peak.

Dong-Ling Chen

Ive had friends head up and say its absolutely beautiful. We came here to head to the top and do the hike to the peak but had major overcast that day. They front desk has a camera at the peak so if you experience the same thing, ask them for a look to see if its even worth paying the gondola. We ended up not going and did a hike down the road.

troy stelmach

Awesome resort for hikes or hiking depending on the season you choose to arrive. Winter time has some of the best snowboarding terrain available in the rockies whereas in the summer the hiking is superb from the top of the gondola

Sarah Elford

Great snow, awesome terrain!

Nils Koch

Though it may be considered a challenging hill, the instructors here are very effective and well-trained to teach new snowboarders and skiers. The Gondola track is long, but amazingly fun, and the ride up gives you a beautiful view. There are all sorts of shops where you can buy souvenirs, get rentals, equipment, clothing, and more. I would definitely recommend this place for travelling as a group or even alone. The prices may be seen as a bit high, but it's definitely worth it.

Kheng Chiaw Tay

Favourite ski hill of all the ones I've visited. Definitely a challenging mountain with only a few easier runs, but if you're looking for a challenge the potential is endless. Definitely better on a sunny day when you can see in the chutes, and the view from the top is incredible.

Jey Yuss

Terrain is excellent for intermediates and experts. Fair share of easier runs too. It's unfortunate that there is only one way to get to the top!

Clair Smith

Great mountain biking. The views were amazing and my son enjoyed the Grizzly bear refuge. We even saw Boo.

Artur

$116 lift ticket for 4 runs the whole day, 1hr wait in the single line, 2 sides of the mountain closed off, people cutting in line constantly and not a single staff member to oversee this mess. Complained to the ticket scanner and he just laughed. 6 cars stuck in the car park blocking others exiting and no one from Kicking Horse to help. Just took the money and laughed to the bank. We ended up towing people out to help them. I’ve been fortunate enough in life to travel to over 30 ski resorts and this is by far the most poorly run mountain out of all of them. After today we decided to cut our time short and not give these clowns another day of our money and left for Revelstoke. This place is NOT worth the detour. Best leave it off your list of places to visit

Adrian M

Got married here last weekend, staff was amazing throughout the whole process

Konstantine Bouiourov

We were a group of 5, vibing, and these are our honest impressions. 1. Insane amounts of adventure. 2. Steep slopes and beautiful views of the Rockies. 3.amazing instructor and easy rental service. 4. God is the greatest 5. Its happening 6.

Mike C.

Out of most of the hills available in the Canadian Rockies, kicking horse definitely holds a special place. Definitely one of the most thought out and strategically engineered sculpted hills, with well placed catwalks and chairs. Ski conditions always seem to be favourable and the powder is always a treat. Great on site dinning options. The gondola makes this hill far more enjoyable to ride up. Did I mention kicking horse coffee? Make sure to get your day started right. Safe riding out there!

Always a great experience to come here, even if you don’t ski! I love to do long walks and I wasn’t disappointed in the trails around Cedar Lake.

Run, run for everyone. Green, blue, black and double black. The double blacks are true to their word. I talked to a few people about their initial thoughts and they were all the same. If you've never been, prepare yourself for the vertigo you never knew you had. When you get to the top the two small trails will probably get to you to some degree. The gondola and the top chair are angled weird and may get to you a bit too. I got used to them pretty quick, but the first experience was a touch on the scary side. Don’t worry if you find yourself snowplowing. Many people do.
