The zoo is always a pleasure, if you can afford it, and the "tropical house" as it was called when I was little is a great place in any event, doubly so on cold windy days if you are looking for a reprieve from the cold while you wander the outdoor exhibits. As well as the birds there are some small primates and an aquarium/terrarium area. If you've gone to the expense of getting in to the zoo, don't miss visiting this place too.
