They seem to be treating the animals well, most habitats are adequate as far as I can tell. They have a lot of nice food huts, you can even bring your own food to grill on communal bbq. Lots of attraction for kids, and the new Dinosaur Park is incredible. Also, the place is not crowded at all even during the weekends.

I dont like the very grey cages you have for the tigers and lions. I wonder why you can not place some straw inside, especially now that the tigers got babies!! They are basically just laying on grey concrete.. The elephants has so little space and very boring... instead of having used money for the new climbing playground for kids, you should have spend them on the animals!!!! And you killed the bears too.. just because you didnt want them any longer?!?!

Small but fun zoo. The day we went it was very quiet. Animals were all out and about. Most of the them were curious about us too. Lots of animals. Thought some of the enclosures were a bit small, but overall the animals welfare is the number one priority. Would recommend if you have curious kids or if you love seeing exotic animals. :)

Lovely place to go, plenty of things to see! The animals are treated very well and they seem to all have proper enclosures. As far as I know, they try to take in endangered species to breed and release back into the wild. The money spent on a visit here, seems to be used for a proper purpose and not to fatten someone's pocket. :)

The zoo has a wide variety of animals, most of which I had not seen before. It was easy to navigate and there was cheap coffee halfway round. There was sufficient information about each species, though nothing too exciting. However I felt that the animals did not have nearly enough space and seemed listless. They had very dreary cages which looked like prison cells, the primates' cages had plastic bags in which they were 'playing' with. I felt quite guilty for contributing to this zoo; it is not a cheerful environment.

The Zoo is great place to bring family and friends. There is a show for the kids every day, Danish only unfortunately. It is possible to ride a train around the Zoo, with a guide telling about the different animals, Danish only unfortunately. You can bring your own food, and even use some public grills for a barbecue feast if you want.

And you can walk in every direction because of the genius design of the zoo. All in All a average zoo compared to other zoo's around the world, but way better than Copenhagen zoo. Aalborg Zoo was a quaint and cozy Zoo experience. It's size fits good for small children. It also had various lens where children could pet animals. Some negatives were that alot of the enclosures were empty because the animals where moved into adjacent enclosures due to unknown work perhaps?.

I am a little divided on whether it is right to go to a zoo and thus support that animals are kept in cages. It was clear to see that the animals in Aalborg Zoo were well and had plenty of space. Very niet and clean zoo. When you start your visit, you can first start with a little through a dino park. The animals sees to be relaxed and showing natural behaviour. Kindly employees, enough restaurants to eat/drink and toilets to use. Overal we really enjoyed our visit and we can recommend this zoo.

A Nice zoo with good views of most the exhibits. Restrooms and diners are placed well and are accecible with strollers and wheelchairs. Though one of the largest exhibits are only accessible from one side and may prove a challenge to fully enjoy. Overall a great experience though.

Admission for DKK 210 is not cheap, but okay. I don't want to go into the size of the enclosures, as more is always better. You should consider that the zoo is located in the middle of the city and therefore the area is limited. And nobody goes to the zoo just for rabbits and donkeys. All visitors have a lot of fun. Er ist nicht so riesig, dennoch haben wir mit zwei kleinen Pausen (Burger, Pommes und Softeis sehr zu empfehlen) vier Stunden verbracht. Eintritt für 210 DKK ist nicht gerade günstig, aber dennoch in Ordnung. Auf die Größe der Gehege möchte ich nicht eingehen, da immer mehr besser ist. Man sollte bedenken das der Zoo quasi mitten in der Stadt liegt und von daher die Fläche begrenzt ist. Und nur für Hase und Esel geht keiner in den Zoo. Allen Besuchern ganz viel Spaß.

Good and maintained zoo. Interesting animals, together with a good lay out. I have noticed thay it's a lot less crowded the earlier you go. Nice cafe serving hot meals and the toilets are always clean. It has a petting section, mainly goats, where young children can be amongst them and are free to touch them. Alcohol spray is available when leaving this attraction. It has a very good outdoor playground, sometimes difficult to get the children actually to see the animals due to a well resourced and safe play area. It does have a pavilion where organised shows and talks take place, but these are not every day.

A really interesting Zoo--- for "kids of all ages"!! The Zoo, in this smaller Danish city, is "Dinosaur Themed", has many things to make much more interesting... The animals, of many species, are located "quite close" to the visitor, and this makes for better viewing and "animal behaviour observing"! While it is a "good size" it is not "overbearing". The gardens also add to the "enjoyable ambience"... and the picnic areas even offer "Barbecue Grills" (at no additional charge) if one wishes to Barbecue (or re-heat) food that are brought. The Zoo has also earned TripAdvisor's coveted "Certificate of Excellence"... It is well worthy of a visit! I hope that this Review has been helpful!

I been to zoo all around the world .. but this is one of my favorite.. it is not big or fancy but it is beautiful and has all animal I can think of. What I really like is that we could get very very close to all animals including lions and tigers.. the cages has a viewing place from all sides so there was no chance that the animal will be inside and we couldn't see it.. the entrance fee was 160 adults 99 for kids .. the annual pass is very economic 399 adults 230 kids the staff were very informative.. the food court was nice, the food was ok but cheap compared to other zoo places ..

Good zoo, lots of animals to see. The diversity present was incredible. You can see animals up close, which is great. The biggest downside is that it is way too small for some of the big animals, specially bears and crocodiles. That made animals show stress behaviour that was heartbreaking.

Great variety of animals in habitats which seem to keep them happy and active. One of the chimps seemed a bit sad, but they are so intelligent and you can't keep adult males together, so I hope he is contributing to research etc. The polar bears look super happy and the big cats are awesome. Don't forget to give the wild goats a scratch behind the ears!

Auf jeden Fall ein Besuch wert, wenn man im Norden Dänemarks ist.
