Point pleasant is a beautiful park full of large paths for walking, running, biking, strollers, wheel chair accessible. And smaller paths that cut through the woods with more rugged terrain. The park is at the tip of the Halifax Peninsula and looks out the mouth of the harbour and to McNabs Island. Lots of picnic tables, fort ruins, and places to explore.
Wonderful place to walk and get fresh sea air. Also a great place to walk you dog.
Gorgeous place for a walk
Great place! I went there mainly because of Edith Smith's painting of the gatemen's lodge but harvested so much more pretty sceneries.
It was a beautiful day and there were a lot of people there enjoying the beautiful surroundings.
I love this park and often take the dog and kids there for a walk. There are lots of off leash trails and on leash trails as well. There is also a water station on the trail leading to the upper parking lot by Tower rd . People are always friendly passing by, one of my favorite parks in Halifax.
Great oceanside park in the heart of the city. Terrific for joggers, dog walkers, and plain walking. Some dog and bike friendly areas (bike i think only some days of the week). Hear the waves of the harbour or go along the northwest arm.
Was a great place for a walk but not if you don't like dogs.
A good park for bird watching and an evening walk!
Pleasant.
Near the pumping station.
It was awesome nice parking space good for family outings perfect for weekends with food and family you will feel like in the heart of nature will give you the peace from noice and crowdy places of downtown not much crowded in weekdays let your children's to play with nature and learn and enjoy it's better way to grow them nicely Added extra attraction in the diary of halifax, nova scotia and atlantic canada nice trails to walk around nice and clean best time is early in the morning and evening like sunset you will fall in love with natural beauty of it with seashore and sounds of waves with great sunset view good for sailing also if you got your own boat Halifax Harbour is also there it's thrill when you watch ship fully loaded with 100s of containers first time enjoyed a lot there and around also as the houses built with plenty of space around are very nice well maintained spaces by government just not good handling of washrooms on the way else very good to visit and spend time with your loved ones additional In the memory of navy officer the anchor is there remembering the sacrifice of their during peacewar (1957-1970)
I love going here! Such a nice escape from the business of the world! Nice place to bring a dog or go on a stroll with your family.
A great place for an afternoon stroll.
The most beautiful park I have visited in Halifax. Make sure to visit the Northwest Arm where the Atlantic ocean visit the Halifax in this park and you can hear the voices of the sea lions while you’re watching the blue ocean from the rocky beach . Before you go there you can take some sunflower seeds with you and put them on your flat hand next to the birds houses which are on some trees and wait a while to have an incredible experience about feeding the small brides like nuthatches. Touch the nature true this amazing wild park on sunny days .
Best place to roam around.
Its peaceful and relaxing also beautiful. Lots of boats and photos
Love this park so much. Nice trails, beautiful trees - I wish folks would keep their offleash dog activities to the offleash areas, but overall it's lovely here.
It's point pleasant park. Nuff said.
A really beautiful park great for the doggos!
What a beautiful park, right in the city of Halifax. The park has lots of war history, including old bunkers, monuments and plaques to honor those who have fallen. There are also numerous trails to explore with lots of forests. There is also restrooms throughout the park as well as dog watering station. The park does have an off leash policy for dogs but between certain times. All in all a beautiful park to visit and highly recommended for anyone visiting Halifax!
Great place to go for walks or bike rides. Also if you don’t have your own dog you will see at least 20 other peoples dogs who you can pet. Also sometimes you can see seals in the water. Ocean doggos.
Halifax Port by the park
Enjoyed lunch at the park with my family.had visits from a goose, squirrels are entertaining!
Amazing place, I love it.
Lovely rambling wide fine gravel pathways through the forest and along the seaside
Awesome place to hangout in summers. People scared of dogs, beware!
Great place for the dogs.
Great place. Just go and visit and enjoy everything.
Loved the area and how open it is and beautiful paths
So many trails to walk! Lots of friendly doggos!!
Such a beautiful park in the heart of everything that makes Halifax such a special place.
Pretty. Dog friendly. Easy terrain. Garbage cans. Well maintained. Parking can be tricky, so check the times before you go.
Fell in love here.
Fresh air, majestic trees, beautiful trails(especially this time of year with all the vibrant colors) the sound of the ocean crashing against the shore. Meeting great people and every breed of dog imaginable....What's not to love!!!!
The cutest park, tons of fauna and flora everywhere you look, and romantic views of the water. Cute date spot!
Great park to stroll around and/or run...very scenic
Wonderful park with lots of walking trails for a wide variety of paths you can walk. From the flat path near the sea to walk along, all the way up to Prince Andrews Tower, there is a path for everyone. Dogs are allowed off leash in certain areas as well, so an excellent place to go for a walk.
My favorite place in Halifax so far ????
Really nice ????
Best place in the world, and you may get a chance to see a whale or seals. Furthest point in Halifax so you see so much, great walking and hiking trails animal friendly, beach area, little canteen old fort that were use in the wars.
One of the most beautiful places in the entire city. This is a great place to go for a nature walk, there are miles of trails throughout the peninsula. Plenty of trees and other wildlife everywhere. It's also a good place to chill with friends in and abandoned historic structure next to the ocean. I would recommend this place is you want to go for a walk, you need to be in nature, you want time by the ocean, or you and your friends need a place to chill!
Such a fantastic place to stretch legs, run the pooch and take in the ocean breeze!
It was peaceful and serene. Just what I needed
Amazing day to watch waves after a storm. Surfers were out catching waves.
A nice Historical place to visit. The view from the top is marvellous.
Heaven on Earth!!
take a walk and enjoy the ocean views
A seaside urban park in Halifax with access to the seaside trails and an interior trail system along with historic fortifications. Great for a quick break and walk or a casual stroll with friends and family or to explore and grab some photos.
Even with the icy trails it was a blast to walk around the park... Beautiful large walkways no car free. Roaming area for the pets... Very nice
One of the best place to explore in Halifax.! Very peaceful place. You’ll like to go with your pet for jogging. The water shore is the place where you can spend your evening while meditating in summer.
Can get so crowded but a beautiful park in the city.
Great park to take the family, or just go for a bike ride yourself. Next time we'll bring the dog too, it's very dog friendly.
Lots of walking trails and very pretty. Sometimes quite busy but lots of parking available and dog friendly, a good place to visit if you’re looking to take the dog for a walk or get out of the busy city for a bit.
Great park in Halifax! Was plenty of places for dogs and their dog like friends. Some good history as well. Be sure to step off the beaten paths a bit. Found some berries and picked them. All I all a pleasurable place to spend a afternoon!
This is a great place to take a walk, have a cup of coffee, or relax.
My favourite place to take my dog off leash walking. We go several times a week. The paths are well maintained. The view is lovely. They have free doggie bags at the entrance too! Parking is limited, but tons of on street parking is available.
Signature urban wilderness park of Halifax
One of the most beautiful places in Halifax. People bring their pets, some do exercise and jogging. I find it very calm and beautiful. A place to rediscover yourself
Beautiful park!!
Nice big park.
A good place to walk or jog.
Fun, revitalizing, VERY dog friendly, clean, beautiful
Wonderful park with beautiful views of the entrance to Halifax Harbour. Lots of walking and biking trails. So much to see! We're blessed to have this park in the city. This year the walkway around the container piers was opened. Really fascinating to watch the action as the ships are loaded and unloaded.
Clean place. The memorial anchor monument is well done and well kept.
This picture was taken near Point Pleasant Park 9 years ago today. It's a very nice photo. Who's this cutie? Please message me and I will send you the original copy :-)
Nice spot as always. Great for a quick walk or longer trip to explore off the beaten track. Bring a picnic and enjoy the sights of the comings and goings if both Halifax Harbour and the Northwest Arm. From the lower parking lot, you get a great view of the loading and unloading at the container port
Great walking trails and cool history - usable in all seasons
Awesome place for a stroll. Lots of dogs visit, so great to go dog watching, or to take your own for a walk. Lots of cool buildings and towers to see along the walk as well.
Beautiful park. Long trails with lots of historical plaques to read. A small beach to dip your feet in the Atlantic and an amazing view. Must see in Halifax
Well kept great series of trails, not far from home. Endless cute dogs too.
Amazing views. Wonderful for off leash trained dogs. Lots of trails on leash and off leash for the fur babies.
Well maintained park with plenty of paths that crisscross.
A good place to really see the ocean meet the horizon. And on windy days you see some great wave action.
Always a good day at point pleasent!
Enjoy a peaceful stroll through this wonderful park
Great walking trails along the ocean and through the trees
Awesome walk by the ocean, so humid today but lovin summer! ????????????????️
What an amazing place to visit. Great trails. Beautiful location. Historic and a must see.
Beautiful scenic area to go for a drive. The beach area and lighthouse is great for photo taking... There is a small island that looks different depending on if the tide is in or out....
Great place to visit with the family. Nice walk and great view of the mouth of Halifax Harbour. Nice and quiet place to sit and watch the ships entering and leaving the harbour. HMCS Montreal is pictured in one of the photos entering the harbour.
Loved the park but the bike ride from the boardwalk was terrible. You have to go down a narrow industrial road. I can't believe Halifax hasn't done something better to connect the two. Inside the park it's beautiful with a few Victorian forts to explore. Watching the shipping traffic enter the narrows was neat too. If you liked the Citadel then this park is another must see.
I've been coming to Point Pleasant Park for 55 yrs. Now, that I'm older it is simply a beautiful place to relax with tons of history and views.
Love the park. Great views, great trails, love feeding the birds and squirrels. I have issues with the washroom facilities. The port-a-potty at the Tower Road entrance should be replaced with a permanent structure. Also there are three port-a-potties on the main trail, all LOCKED. What gives? The park is a favourite of Seniors and asking someone to walk 3km to use the washroom is unreasonable.
This is where the Titanic crashed the history is so powerful you can fell and I felt it also the people are so lovely it's a very warm welcoming place to be
Not bad
Beautiful and relaxing. Nice long walk.
Beautiful, natural looking park.
Amazing. Simply, naturally amazing.
Best Park ???????? in the country hands down
Being a very large park, you will always find something nice at Point Pleasant. Experience the best of both worlds here with landmark attractions for historical learning, and small scenic crannies for personal bonding. This park is the perfect setting for long walks with loved ones.
Space, green, safe, oceanfront, historic, picnic areas, relaxing, you can walk or run, good for children to play and be free to walk and wander. I do not like dogs but they need space as well as humans even though there are SO MANY DOGS. Yes thankfully the city recognizes the importance of this park to people. It is a lovely place to spend a few hours.
Very nice park for to relax and watch the ocean. It also has many very nice trails for hiking.
This is a beautiful large Park at the South End tip of downtown Halifax. Our are own Central Park if you will. So much space to relax and enjoy yourself; ponds, Coastal lining forever and great people are always in the Park - for the most part anyway. Shakespeare by the sea and other outdoor shows can be held there. Point Pleasant park has a gym and I'm glad the government and afford it for the easy price of $0.10 a year ( go ahead, look it up!) Enjoy Point Pleasant park for everything it has to offer I hope you enjoy Halifax as much as I do.
Had a lovely stroll along the wooded path. There were people running, but many came with their dogs. The dogs were thrilled to run around without their leash on. You can see the smile on their face. Just be sure to see the signs where the dogs can be unleashed. The park still hold remnants of it's history and that's a good thing. The path also brings you along the ocean, which is really lovely. The squirrels and the birds and the ducks are there to entertain you. They seem to look forward for some food bits. We had some squirrels scurrying in and out of the woods trailing us expecting some seeds.
Lovely place for a mild winters day walk.
This place is awesome!!! It was my first time walking through the park. It's an incredible walk with lots of historic stuff all sprinkled throughout. It's was quiet and peaceful. I'm definitely going back for an easy, relaxing stroll. I hope this helps
Beautiful spot for a walk. The wide, well groomed pathways are perfect for maintaining social distancing and excellent for people with mobility issues.
We are so lucky to have this beautiful park so close to downtown and on the tip of the peninsula. Beautiful views of the Halifax harbour and it is about 90 percent dog off-leash friendly! Our little guy loves his weekend walks greeting every dog and person he sees.
Buetiful Park with amazing walking trails. I always love seeing everyone's dogs out for a walk
It's a great national park for tracking in the heart of the southern Halifax! . You can enjoy your coffee anytime or take sun bath in summer. There is a dog unleash area to walk your dog and your puppy will enjoy the swimming.
Beautiful setting, no better place to let go of stress and be calm.
Went for a stroll on a sunny (but very cold) afternoon with friends. The views and the company were great. Even got to meet a few friendly squirrels along the way.
Always a lovely walk
Love this piece of paradise in Halifax!!
Love taking the dogs here but hate the drive down to the park. The runners are always all over the road and not on the sidewalks and they refuse to move for vehicles. There's no need to 5 and 6 side by side up the street when there is a sidewalk USE IT!!!! Also most cyclist who ride through the park are not cautious of the dogs either... Especially during offleash times down by the waterfront
Point pleasant park is such a wonderful place for everyone. We love the off leash area for our dog and visit the pond every year in August to see the dragonflies. It is such a Beautiful place with lots to explore!
A beautiful park right on the ocean, Point Pleasant Park provides several kilometres of seaside trails minutes from downtown Halifax. The summer also brings the Shakespeare By The Sea Theatre Company to life, acting out The Bard's best all about the park!
Beautiful park to spend time with friends, family, and pets. Great off leash trails to walk your doggo on!
Fantastic walking trails right in the city with beautiful views of the Halifax Harbour. There are a couple monuments, a beach and ample parking.
Good place to spend a beautiful summer afternoon. Sitting on the chairs we could see the intersection of beautiful blue sea, high hills and the sky. Walking through trail was a pleasant experience. Me and my family was there on last September 2019. Loved the place.
Halifax's most popular park, having miles of trails to bike, jog or even walk. Sit and enjoy a cup of coffee or tea and watch everything from sailboats, yachts, cruise ships, military ships, and kayaks pass by.
Little piece of heaven, enjoy your time here and find you favorite spot to relax, no matter if it's a hike, read, jog, etc. You will find peace.
Best place for nature and meet other dogs
A touch of wild nature right beside downtown Halifax! Very nice for a walk or running. Be aware if you don't like dogs because there's unleashed zone in the park. Or you can sit by the ocean and enjoy both sunshine and the gorgeous view of McNab Island.
This is a beautiful park. I love the old historical batteries full of cannons. Walking out to the inlet is also a highlight particularly at the end of the day when all the sailboats are coming back in and the sun is setting. Great place to walk a dog or just wander with a friend.
I often visit this favourite place
Great place to be alone.
Love going for walks here. They are a leach free zone so lots of happy puppies.
Great to get out and walk and not worry about running into so many ppl
We try to go once a year, you don't feel like your in the city here. Some really beautiful ocean vistas.
A great place for walking, running and dogs too!!
Great walking trails and many to choose from.
So beautiful, easy to spend the day there
3 kilometer daily walking trail
My favorite place to smile at dogs and avoid eye contact with their owners :)
Great place to turn my bus around :)
Just short ride from Halifax downtown, plenty of fresh air to run stretch and cycling. And a bonus to see many dogs as well. There's convenience store at the entrance near the parking. Very good place to read and relax
Absolutely loved the park.
My mother and I were walking by the sea. Suddenly my brother accidentally broke his knee. We were all very nervous. My mother used borax water to disinfect the wound and then helped him wrap the wound.
Good for morning walk being located in the heart of Halifax.
Joseph has so much fun here!
Great place to get away from the city or take your dog's for a walk. Many trails throughout the park would take days to explore everything. I spent a couple hours there and only saw like 20% of the park. Lots of little hard to spot trails that come with challenges or take the big wide main trails for a more relaxed walk.
Busy but nice
One our favorite places in the city to walk our dog.
Love this.park and used to swim at the beach in late 70's. You can find nice shells and glass but sadly you see a lot of....garbage too. This poor park to a blow some time ago and lost trees which is easily noticeable and sad but still beautiful historic place to visit!
Great place to run or walk a dog apparently. Worth a visit if you like nature. It’s big, don’t get lost.
Relaxing, accessable.
Perfect Place! Very beautiful ????
Best city park ever! Lots of trails
Missed this my first time in Halifax. Glad I got to it the second time, had a really nice walk around here.
Lovely walking trails here. It's hard to believe you're so close to Halifax's downtown.
One of my favorite places in Halifax. So easy to navigate and beautiful scenery. Very well cared for park
Stunning harbour lookout
Great spot to take your dogs. On the weekends between 9 and 10am, there are usually about 30 or 40 dogs that will show up.
Great paths and the smell of the ocean is amazing!
One of Halifax’s best parks, great views of the water, there’s a little beach lots of picnic tables & historical buildings along the way. You can walk run or bike the trails which are dog friendly with designated on & …
Beautiful park with an easy to do trail
Gorgeous park! Whatever you do, DO NOT go there during rush hour. You have to drive through Halifax and the traffic is ridiculous. Make sure you wear good walking shoes and bring something to drink.
Nice place to spend a day!
I almost touched a duck ????
Right at the South End of Halifax. Great park.
The best place to visit in Halifax during winter especially when it’s snowing. The park is entirely covered in snow and it has breathtaking view of Atlantic Ocean. You will find people out for walk here with pet along. It’s huge place and …
Beautiful view and nice walkway
Amazing park to go on jogs and see many Amazing dogs
We were visiting from Ontario and to have a coastal view and historic relevance, wide well-stoned paths, great treed areas with paths, and accessible washrooms, was a great experience.
Great place for running and strolls ????
It's a beautiful park and finally coming back after Juan all those years ago. I've been walking the trails in the morning for over 30 years and have rarely seen issues until recently. Now it's necessary to be careful of kids and dogs with the park staff who seem to consider walkers and park users an inconvenience. They drive their excavators and other park vehicles on sidewalks going into the park and through park users inside the park. Someone's kid or dog will get hurt unfortunately, everyone beware.
Love it there, close to the ocean. Nice walking ????♂️trails as well.
Nice place to walk, hike or run. Simply you can sit and watch the ships moving around the harbour and enjoy the ocean’s view. There are a plenty of picnic tables to have you food. Good for families with tiny kids as well.
Beuatiful spot in South end of Halifax. Walking trails, trees, ocean, beach, history! Its all here in this park. As a bonus, lots of puppie dogs get walked here. I met a gerougous 3 yr old Rotti, a very friendly and excited French bulldog, a Terrier autographed my pants with his pawprint, and a English bull dog who I kust had to take a picture of. All dog interaction was at my request with consent of the owners.
Beautiful spot, lots of trails and dogs.
Cool tower!!!! And it's free
Amazing park for running/walking/spending time with family. Lots of squirrels out when it's warm and they're pretty friendly. Gravel paths are also fun to ride. Only a couple steep hills but it is still fairly hilly. The walk along the seaside is quite flat and very enjoyable. Generally fairly quiet with not too many people.
Heaven.
Nice park with ample car parking space
Nice big park for nice easy walks. And lots of dogs to pet.
Fantastic view, clean and well maintained! Dog friendly and most of it is off leash approved. The best place to get away from the city but without actually leaving it!
A nice place to take a walk with my family!
Excellent place to go and relax on a nice walk, I always take the off lease trails and meet the local fur babies!
A wonderful park close to downtown Halifax
ALWAYS loved this park!! Everyone is very friendly, gorgeous views, nice 1 hour long walk around in a circle.. plenty of trails branching off your main routes could make it last longer than an hour walk with numerous amounts of statues/monuments to keep you entertained! It is a dogs off leash area except for one small area when u begin to enter the trail on the south side of the park.. All dogs ofcourse are all sorts of breeds, very fun place to go if you are a dog owner/advocate, good place to meet friends as well! Free of charge to do anything in the park!
A wonderful urban park with good walking trails and even better views.
Always a fun place to go for a walk
Point Pleasant Park is a great place to go for a walk with friends or to take a stroll by yourself. Also great place to walk to pups. There are a number of different trails, lots of great scenery to take in and take pictures of. If you prefer to run or jog the trails are wide enough that others will not be in your way. There is s bunch of different historical sites in the park as well.
Great place to unwi d and relax
Excellent place to see a nice sunrise oder to play with some squirrels. You may spot some big ships entering or leaving the harbour. Its a great place to go for a training run in the morning.
So peaceful ❤
A very big park where you can have a swim in the small beach or walk on the long trails with your dog or bike along or have a picnic on the shaded areas. I love this place!
Very nice park. Beautiful views of the ocean and the Northern Arm. Vast areas of off leash for dogs. A number of historical sites and a great view of the container ships coming in.
First time experience was fantastic, love the little intricate paths and was able to do some plant and fungus identification with friends , very peaceful and everyone is the park seemed really happy.
Huge, beautiful park with many trails to walk and bike through. Definitely worth taking a hike through to take in the amazing waterfront scenery.
I spent most of my time here walking around Point Pleasant Park during my visit to Halifax. Very nice place for walking, running, dog walking, biking, cross country running, picnic table areas, birds watching(bring your camera)and fields …
Great spot to pretend you're not in the city!
Amazing trails and a great view of the ocean
Beautiful area of the city. Excellent views of the harbor. Many many WW2 historic sites to visit. Miles of walking and cycling trails with slight to moderate elevation changes. Dozens of park benches to rest or eat. Take a few peanuts with you....the squirrels will thank you.
Really lovely and so well maintained.
Awesome Views!! Great Park to spend time with family and friends
One of the best off leash areas ever. My dog loves it. There are water fountains for dogs and several places to access the ocean. There have been concerns about bacteria or pathogens in the fresh water creeks in the park, so it's best to keep your dog's away from these.
Quiet and excellent for go jogging or just walking
Impressive how the public is encourage to explore and connect with these interesting points of history. Thank you Beautiful park, off leash areas, washrooms and parking. Plenty of historic points of interest to explore. This park is well worth your time. Plenty of wide open trails, suitable for people of all abilities.
Best view of the cruise ships leaving Halifax!
We love going there. Lots of trails and lots if Nature to look at with our little ones.
Nice and friendly place!!
An ideal place to run, walk your dog, or just look around. Keep an eye out for the squirrels and birds if you are into photography!
This is a lovely park with a great path along the water plus trails through the trees. I've only visited as a tourist without my dog, but it appears to have lots of off leash area - not little patches of dog park, but a very large area. It's a great place for a dog-lover who doesn't have a dog to see dogs in action. And it's a great place for running!
A great place for a walk and view of the harbour. Can be crowded on weekends.
A great place for running and walking and and awesome place to bring the family.
Awesome park for a walk, exercise, cycling or just sit back and to enjoy the view of the harbor. Great for families. Pet friendly. Well maintained and clean
This was an absolutely gorgeous park to spend time in. The trails were amazing, and there is a sort of serenity that comes with being this close to the ocean. A must-visit spot for any tourist visiting Halifax!
Lil noisy for a nature park however love visiting the forts inside and the history of the park makes it exquisite, the trails are well kept and even the off trails are fun!
Always love to go for a walk in this park! Came here all the time if I didn’t have any spot to hike. The breeze is always great, love the ocean smell! The highlight of this park is that the different weather always has different views! Personally I love to hike here in the spring and fall. Very nice spot for all the ppl who live in Halifax.
Very beautiful and quiet place to walk or run ;)
a lovely place to walk and enjoy the sea breeze. the paths and trails are well kept up.
Nice park for biking. The paths are very wide and level (gravel).
The best place to get away from the city but without actually leaving it! The park is dog friendly and most of it is off leash approved. The trail along the water is so beautiful to watch the ships come and go. Great in the winter or the summer!
Beautiful trails, lots of off-leash areas for dogs. Loop through the forest or along the coast, depending on your mood.
Great place for an off the leash walk. Everyone I met was great. Very clean.
so beautiful place ever
If you guys are looking for peace. Must go there.
This review is going to be short because of the situation in which I visited this place. It was cold, wet, and being a first time visitor, I was not prepared with correct clothing. Nevertheless, arriving at the parking lot and looking at the ocean near the park was enough to evoke happy feelings of looking at the nature. It is a beautiful park that you can could get lost an entire day and still be not satisfied with it. Lots of history associated to the park too. Because of the proximity to the water, always be prepared for weather changes. You will love it.
A lovely place to walk or sit a while. Dog lovers (and dogs) abound. Friendly!
Awesome place to take a walk and enjoy some history of the city and beautiful views
Nice place to take a walk. With family have kids over for play
Great spot to go for a walk or run.
Always great to go to Point Pleasant Park. Glad they added more temporary washroom facilities
A must visit in Halifax. Aside from the giant container port right beside it, this place is heaven. Nice arboretum, great views and several locations where you can actually get in the water.
Very nice oceanside park if you have dogs. I noticed many dogs off leash and did not see any negative incidents. My little Labrador retriever is a bit young, so we kept him on leash. Lots of different trails to choose from.
Best place in South part of Halifax. Seashore and sound of water and seagulls feels like nature is at its best. One can enjoy view of Halifax port from here, good place for photography and for short time picnic. Table for sitting available here, you can enjoy the view from there.
Very peaceful and beautiful park
Great greenspace in Downtown Halifax.
It's beautiful and free. And it's a great place for a nice walk.
One of our favourite places to walk our dog. Gorgeous view of the harbour. I do find it odd that certain areas are ‘no dogs allowed’ in a park that is mainly off leash. But oh well, plenty of other trails to explore.
Great place to have a long walk right in town
Amazing park ,must visit place in fall
Usual hang out to enjoy tranquility, birds and squirrel in the vicinity.
It is a beautiful place. Sunset view is the best over here
Point Pleasant Park is a wonderful park with numerous interesting monuments and buildings to discover. You can spend an entire evening there walking around and discovering new sights. It's also a great spot to just relax and observe the ships passing by.
I live close to the park and am still in awe of its beauty every time I visit! There are several walking trails, benches, artifacts, and areas to throw rocks in the water. Perfect for a family walk or running solo. Generally people with off-leash dogs are respectful of the zones however sometimes they need to be reminded when small children are around.
a halifax version of central park in nyc. so large, lots of dogs, lots of pathways, bike friendly as well, perfect place for a run. i love it. waterfront can be a bit smelly sometimes though.
Nice clean park wirh lots to see. Can get really windy.
Even stroll, walk dogs, bicycle riding, jog, hike etc all in one. Park is about 3.67km total to walk around but offers many different options to walk through the woods or along various trails. Also ideal for picnics, to chill or to skip rocks.
Fabulous place to visit on for a days outing, you will have tons of things to do in point pleasant with beach small hill tops, water front to long trails for walk and run. Must go place for any tourist coming in Novascotia. There are few …
I great place to escape to escape the city for a little while
Huge park with tons of seaside and wooded trails. Great for bikes and dog walkers.
I would visit the park a few times a month. It's a beautiful place to walk and there are many things to do and see. The park is full of history and during the summer there are various events held there such as outdoor plays. If you're in Halifax and want a nice quiet afternoon this is definitely a place to see.
My favorite park...super pleasant to stroll or run through! Lots of dog walkers so if u're not an animal lover not a place for you!
In the Summer Shakespeare by the Sea is performing in the Park. This park is a dog friendly park, so you will see many unleashed. I took a picture of the map right away and was able to find my way around very easily.
We're fortunate to have such a lovely green space in Halifax. With wildlife, a beach, a system of trails, and places to sit and enjoy the view, it's a great place to slow down and appreciate nature.
A great place to walk the dogs
I've been going there for years I love it there find it very relaxing the people are usually very friendly and the staff do a great job keeping the place clean
Great place for natures lovers.
Beeeeaaaaach! Excellent park with lots of side attraction. Unleash your dogs and let them play freely.
If you own a dog this place is an off leash must.
This is such an awesome park! The only reason why I'm not giving it a five star rating is because they should have more outdoor gym equipment, the park only has one pull up bar and a small workout station.
Beautiful place for a walk along the waterfront, exploring some cannons, or just getting exercise among nature. Lots of dog walkers and joggers enjoying the nice weather!
Beautiful views with a variety of trails to enjoy.
Nice place for a walk close to the city with views of the water. Dog friendly with lots of pet owners out. Some small amounts of graffiti. If there is a trail map I did not see it.
Most beautiful park in the city
It was good place to sit down and spent time. People can click some awesome pictures.
Great place to spend an afternoon. Nice trails. Pet friendly with dog off leash trails and open fields. Also good views of the harbour and old world war 1 and 2 era forts scattered throughout.
Wow. Almost missed this beautiful spot, but was recommended by iHeartBikes to visit - so glad I did. Took a bike ride through the park. Beautiful views and trails. Easy to get through (one steep hill only). Trails are gravel and seem to be …
What can you say about this spot that hasn't already been said, a great park space, close to the water, great views, lots of people using the park, lots of dogo's, nice place to unwind and leave the city behind????
Beautiful spot for walkers of all types of life and of leash dog trails
Best part about the South End are the glorious sites and sounds of nature that PPP provides. Woodpeckers, Squirls and all the friendly dogs in he neighborhood meet up here for some refreshing exercise.
The best park I know in North America. Always a pleasure to go there.
This is a Nova Scotia Historic attraction and a beautiful walk for anyone who visits Halifax! This is a must see walk and experience
Walk or bike. Picnic. Enjoy.
Amazing park. My best friend loves it here
So peaceful, left natural, ocean views, trees, squirrels
So many lovely trails deep in the forest, great place to run, beautiful spots to relax by the ocean. Awesome lil convenience store just outside the park that has really tasty spring rolls :)
Nice place for a walk and an ice cream. Don’t come here if you don’t like dogs, they’re everywhere. Some were off leash but were extremely well behaved. One dog stopped and went to the side when she saw me, but of course being a dog person I went over and petted the dog ????. Nice water, lots of places to sit, I hear the Shakespeare by the sea is good, I fully intend to go.
Great large park with panoramic views of the Halifax Harbour. There is a small beach and lots of long walking trails. Plenty of green space, benches, and shade.....Lots of parking. Trails are well maintained and groomed. Great for All ages and abilities.
Awesome walking trails. Great for dog walkers and nature lovers. Can’t wait to go this summer again!
Beautiful day for a nice stroll by the water.
Love ut here
Great place for walking dogs and taking pictures of the ocean.
Nice to park down there without being bothered by someone.
Always love a relaxing walk in PPP!
Wonderful tourist attraction. Loved it
Love it!! Clean and nice, however a few more trash cans wouldn't hurt. And bring back the food shack. Otherwise we love it here ❤
Lots of great trails for your walking pleasure, fantastic fort ruins and other buildings. Lots of space for adventure.
Just so beautiful
One of the premier attractions to visit while in Halifax. Easily several hours of hiking and exploring. Lots of friendly dogs, some are unleashed so be aware if you are afraid. Accessible by car or bus. You could walk from downtown but you should save your energy for walking in the park.
O, PP Park. I love you
Great place to visit. Excellent spot for jogging in the morning as there's a large stretch of the path where you can run along the water. It's especially stunning in the fall with all the leaves changing colour in autumn. Please note this park has a huge off leash dog portion, so if you're afraid of dogs this isn't the place for you. I haven't found any washrooms with flushing toilets here, but there are outhouses throughout the park.
Love this place especially when taking dogs for a walk..... Was there Jan 1st,2022 and there was a chicken wrapped in a towel and nothing else just coming out of the water..... Brrrrr idk about these polar bear swimmers they just crazy lol
Beautiful place for a walk and a picnic with lots of history along the trail.
Full season
Great spot right downtown to relax, have a picnic, go for a walk or run. Nice network of trails, with areas set aside for picnics complete with garbage cans and picnic tables and benches. There's a little beach by the parking lot at the end where the little ones (and all) can throw rocks into the water as long as they want!
Perfect for summer evening strolls.
So nice to have a forest space in the city. Beautiful place for walking and enjoying the ocean views. Even has outdoor Shakespeare plays performed during the summer months. Parking lots and bus service - also easy to walk to - from downtown. Don't forget to have an ice cream available near both of the parking lots. Great place for picnics
Awesome place for strolls. Beautiful landscapes. Great place for dogs. It has areas where you can leave your dogs without leash. There are plenty of benches, all across the park for picnics. Great ocean views.
Always beautiful - blue Jay's were very busy and noisy :)
Make sure to bring water with you because the park is huge!
The best place for a walk!
Love this park. The only complaint is that dog owners keep ignoring the signs for the "on-leash" areas. I have an allergy to dogs, and two children with anxiety who are afraid of dogs. I work hard to ensure controlled exposures for the kids, but it is difficult to establish trust with an anxious child when I assure them that the dogs are on leashes and then they come bounding over leash-free. Seriously impacts our ability to enjoy family time out of the home.
Beautiful park at the edge of the city core. Great area for walking, biking, and dogs. Beach area and wooded trails around the old fortifications. Bathrooms on site and several bus stop locations.
Great scenery and look offs
Best nature space on the peninsula.
Absolutley beautiful spot for a walk with your dog!
Without this park, the quality of half a million people's lives will likely to decline. This is how much significance it holds in the mind of an average Haligonian. Sure, it may not be capable of rivaling with the top national parks, but for a local, this is the Elysium.
Great park to lose yourself but make sure you have the time because you may really get lost here.
Simply one of the best things about Halifax
Perfect place to go for a nice walk, a short run (watch it for the hills) or to take your dog out. Hard to believe this park is right downtown Halifax - you'd swear you were out of the city entirely.
Nice place to walk dogs and see water at the shore. Couple of different trails, great for jogging. Nice place to explore!
I occasionally wake up really early just to come out here at sunrise. Park is always clean and maintained. The landmarks are interesting and worth visiting. The walking trail itself is quite lovely around the fall.
Absolutely love this place ..when I was a kid we used to swim there .love all the old bunkers and cannons
Best Halifax park off leash for your dog.
Always nice to go on a trail and get some fresh sea salt air.
The best place to watch the ships come in.
Point Pleasant Park is great, lots of doggos to pet, and everyone is usually fairly respectful of your space. Always a nice walk when the weather is good. Typically fairly busy though. Great for a good walk, jog, or bike ride.
Most amazing spot to go with the family. Loved everything about it. Even found sea glass ????????
Fun night walk
Great views
Nature, ocean, history
Great park for a walk in the middle of the woods. You can feel the smell of pines on the way. Washrooms are well kept and clean. Good to bring your fur buddy. Some parts of the park are off leash. Beautiful sights of Halifax bay. Bring your off road stroller or your baby carrier as it's a small stones path.
Beautiful trails and beach. Well worth the visit. There is an ice cream shop near the parking lot. Lovely treat after burning so many calories walking ????
It's nice to just sit and enjoy the view or take a little walk
Great place, beautiful landscape and ocean view, multiple routes and enough length suitable for walking, running and cycling.
Historical place. I am good Walking and talking in here.
Great place to take your dog for a walk and there are plenty of off leash areas. Small dog owners needn't worry there are no large animals of prey in the park (ie. Coyotes or bobcats).
Nice place for walking, enjoying the view of the ocean
Always a good place to stop, lots of nice spots to walk around. Whenever I go to Halifax I always stop here!
Great for walking your dog
Nice big park with sea shore facing. One can enjoy nature the most along with big Cruise ships at the port.
Beautiful park for a stroll.
Always a nice place to go, whether it be a nice walk with the dog or fellow friends, bike ride, sight seeing by the water or even a evening drive to go take a look at the cars that line up, the Halifax car scene is growing bigger n bigger every year. Love this place.
Beauty everywhere. Such a nice place to come with family.
Beautiful day for a visit. My battery died and some very helpful park workers were kind enough to give me a boost. Thanks to some kind neighbors I was able to get home and get my battery charged. Well done folks. #onlyinNS
Super nice place, big soccer field for the kids, good loot, kinda overpopulated
Great place to walk a dog off leash. Love it.
Been going here for the past week to have lunch. Awesome!
I like this park, I have a lot of good memories there, the squirrels in the clearing near the beach are very comfortable with humans and will try to take your food, they are cute tho.
Brilliant park I wish the dog owners would be a little responsible though
Its pretty good because its not just forest its also forts and stuff
Doesn't get much nicer
This is a very nice park with beach and trail
I like this place because it's a wonderful place to have eaten walking, sit in front of the water I nominate this place for families.
A huge, well-maintained park with so many dogs to coo to and love. I also saw more squirrels in here than I've seen in all of NS since moving from ON! Walking trails are fantastic and there are many choices with hours worth of walking (or running, or cycling; whatever floats your boat). Places by the water offer lovely places to stop and relax and have a picnic.
One of the nicest places in canada
Nice and well maintained park
It is fine but I don't like it on winter
Great place to walk... especially if you love dogs!
Very beautiful, best place to have a morning coffee
The most amazing and a calm place. Can be good enough from a simple walk or a jog to a group gathering or a picnic. The calm breeze of the seashore wind is really amazing and very mind blowing.
It's much larger than you'd think, with a network of hidden trails that can almost make you feel like you're exploring this wood alone. For the most part, however, the trails are wide and well-maintained, lined with plenty of benches and trash cans. Large off-leash areas for dogs ensure there are always a lot of dogs during the warmer seasons. There are waterside parks and sandy beach areas as well, looking over the ocean. There are also historical military buildings that are fascinating to tour. Really, there's something for everyone, it's such a nice park. Just make sure you keep an eye on your kids, you can definitely get lost in here.
This is a wonderful destination for walking, seeing nature or the sea. Any season makes it a nice trip and the majority of the part is easy for people of all ages and mobility to enjoy. It also contains several historical areas including …
Was a beautiful place to walk with the kids and dog
Very muddy in the spring but we still had a nice walk
it was a nice place but is different from the pictures... nice place to visit with friends or family.if you have some kind of animal allergy its recommended not to go because animals are unleashed
Great work out in nature, have a picnic, clear your mind. Beautiful Area!!!!!
Great park! Off leash so the puppier can run and play!
This is a nice, well kept park for public use. Its open in places for off leash dog walking, one of the few dog friendly places in Halifax. Old trees, nice open grassy fields, and little historic sites dot the landscape. It takes about 45 minutes to walk around and there are bathrooms throughout. A great spot for a picnic and some photos of the harbour, ships, and surf. I do wish that they could clean up the beach on the port side as it is not friendly for beach goers.
Great place for walking and running. Well marked trails full of trees, birds and squirrels. It is one of the top places to visit in Halifax.
It's almost a one-fits-all park for me and my family. We could came here for simply a walk, or we could also enjoy a bike ride, a nice and good frisbee throw or just being here for sky or ocean gazing. Fur families are welcome and off-leash is located in the designated kind of central area of the park. There are a couple of beaches here too, but not like the sandy beach we usually picture in mind.
It's so nice and peaceful walking there and the kids love exploring the "castles" :)
Beautiful park anytime of the year.
A walk in the city, but with trees, yes please!
Awesome trails and great views.
One of the nicest parks in Halifax. Lots of well maintained trails for hiking/biking/running as well as dog walking. Some interesting historical monuments as well are found around the park.
Wonderful place for relaxing! Amazing view to the ocean! Lots of small squirrels. Quite place!????
Well maintained walking paths, beautiful scenery, friendly doggos everywhere. What's not to love?
Beautiful park.nice trails.
Very good park for walk and sea view .. did friendly as well
Enjoyed the park it is beautiful and lots of trails to walk on. Thanks
Lovely park with easy walking trails. There are many dogs to pet and say hello to.
Absolutely love spending some time here.. It is a very nice place to relax and enjoy your spending time there. We were with friend s and it was fantastic. Scenery is beautiful and the fresh air is so great!
It’s a beautiful spot with lots of great views. Anything such as walking, running, biking or even running a dog can be possible because the park has wide paths and is well maintained. It’s a nice place to get away from the city although it’s located in the city, Halifax.
Beautiful dog walking experience. Off leash with some exceptions.
Enjoyed all the old batteries..and trails ..did some geocaching in the park. Will be back
So beautiful. Great walking trails
Amazing place for a nice walk along the water!
Almost embarrassed to say I was born in Halifax, and this was my first visit to PPP. Very clean, nice wide trails... George approved❤️????
Beautiful place to relax and jogging.
It a beautiful place
I lived in Halifax for almost 5 years. If I could only pick one place to miss about the city, it would be Point Pleasant Park. Absolute treasure for all Haligonians and visitors to enjoy. PhD in Chemistry, Dalhousie University (2016-2021).
Love the park. Quiet and peaceful place to walk, explore and reflect
Nice place to relax and have a peaceful time away from city rush and buildings
Like a mini Stanley Park. Or a Stanley Park before it became so busy. Nice place to hang out and go for walks. Dog friendly. Oh, and they got Shakespeare by the Sea in the summer time too. People are mostly pretty chill around here. Really like this little sanctuary in the city.
This is a very nice place to walk hike or bike. It's very safe all hours of the day and night. Not nearly as many trees since the 2009 hurricane. Can see star at night from the end of the park.
Love long walks all around this park...
I used to go there to sunbath and swimming in Blackrock beach and my family went to picnic and bbq. Good old days
Lovely park a the mouth of Halifax harbor. Easy walking. Free parking. Outhouses available.
This an amazing park. There are so many walkways and paths, if you go during the week there aren't that many people. But I love watching all of the dogs running around and going for a swim. Another site to see on the east side of the park …
Plenty of trails to walk around, dog friendly, many different landscapes and cool historic ruins ????????
Walking trails amongst old large trees overlooking the Ocean. Perfect for dog walking and an afternoon picnic or exploring the monuments around the park.
Great place to go for a walk, picnic, bike ride. There are nice crushed gravel trailed and open grass areas.
Beautiful trails that rival any in nova scotia. Highly recommend.
By the harbor is a place that I thought I would enjoy, but of late I have really started to love this place. The view is amazing.
Love the quiet! Don't like multiple Dogs off lease in areas!
Walked the park on a beautiful, sunny day in September. The park is well maintained and obviously very popular among locals and visitors alike. Interesting historical installations are among the beautiful and amazing sights. While being dog …
Close to downtown..... ideal place for a weekend family outing with food in tow.
Beautiful and serene.
Beautiful ocean views. Dog friendly!
Sit in your car on a cold day looking at our harbour, watching people enjoy their walks on the trails , so many dogs.
Lots of history. Nice park overall
My favorite place to visit in halifax!!
Very nice I want to come back in the summer and enjoy the night life
Wonderful harbour views plus great network of wide walking paths
Better in the summer. Can be icy in the winter. Strickt about on leash areas. Off leash areas are great for a leisurely walk or run. Good washrooms. Not enough garbage cans.
Another great place outside to enjoy
Great to meet friends outside during Covid times.
An awesome bit of nature in downtown! Love walking the various trails no matter the weather ????.
I enjoyed a coffee while talking with some friends yesterday. There is so much to do and see at Point Pleasant Park. If you haven't been there before you should make it a point to go.
Always a pleasure to be in the park.. Waterside is nice and normally cool. The centre of the park is always warmer. Note of caution;watch your pets for ticks and don't let them drink water, as there are diseases in the water...
Love to see all the dogs
Beautiful place to watch the sunset, especially when there's a super moon
Easy to walk
An awesome place to sip on a coffee watch the boats or take a long stroll
Huge seaside park with many forest trails and smaller paths right in the city of Halifax. You can walk from there to the Halifax waterfront with its really long, interesting boardwalk past ships, yachts, gourmet restaurants, and smaller food places and icecream stands .
Lovely little park with some nice views out onto the water
Great place for walking and cycling.
Excellent place for a low pro B.J. good ambiance...get in touch with nature while your Jimmy washed ...
Blessed to have this large park (186 acres) in our city. And, oh it's Free no admission charge. VM
It's a lovely park overlooking the harbour. Plus a few nice trails to walk or bike. The only thing missing is a food truck! ????
Nice park, well maintained, alot of dog owners aren't following the on-leash/off-leash rules, due to lack of enforcement. Quite populated on weekends
Beautiful scenery. Peaceful. Walking trails.
Beautiful place to visit.
Beautiful place to walh the paths and see some wildlife , peaceful friendly, gteat for families. Picinic tables , washrooms, and eveb a little history
Do nice to have a park like this one so close to Halifax. A peaceful park that makes you feel like you are far from the city. The small trails that go into the woods are great. Good spot if you have a dog as many of the secondary trails are off lease areas.
Lots of green space. Many walking trails. Groomed paths . Historical builings to see. Birds to feed. And squirrels also. Dog friendly paths for pet owners. My favorite place in the city.
Ended up here by happy accident! Beautiful property, clean and very well maintained. Do yourself a favor and take a picture of the main map, this place is massive and the many trails may get you lost like we did. Very fun adventure!
Great trails for running and walking.
Great walking paths. Lots of nice views. Very busy on a sunny Sunday morning.
If you live in Nova Scotia then chances are you've heard of point pleasant park. This is a very pleasant park to walk your dogs at or if you're just looking to go for a run. The park is not as majestic as it was before Hurricane Juan but it is still pleasant.
Had a small picnic very romantic and beautiful.
The off leash area is great for dogs- just be aware some people who walk through the off leash area are either not aware it is off leash or they hate dogs- one guy tried to hit my dog with a walking stick- I gave him the stink eye and he got my message loud and clear. Our girls love- oh and be sure your dog is licensed- I have heard the fines can be heafty
Beautiful park. There is an off the dog area, beautiful views. The only thing I wish they had was light at night.
A gorgeous day to be enjoying crisp autumn air, the smell of the ocean, and brilliant leaves
This is a little bit of piece right in the middle of the city. Lots of doggies to pet and pretty views. It is a little crowded, but hey, sign of a great place.
Pleasant place for a stroll. Bah dum tis!!!
I always find antique bottles and such in the woods ♡ please everyone stop littering; leaving dog bags, tim cup, mac wrappings, and masks where ever you please. Keep our lovely park clean thank you ♡♡♡♡
Park is very beautiful. We went to the chain rock beach, and our kids were playing in the water. We noticed few cuts on their hands and feet after. There were a lot of sharp shells we noticed after. There should be a sign there perhaps that beach area is not really appropriate for playing in water or swimming and footwear should always be worn. I wish there was some sign for this when we went.
Awesome time. Recommended for anyone looking to go walking or running or just to take a break from the hustle and bustle of life.????????????
It is very close to the city and the seaside scenery is very good. It is a good place for leisure.
The park has been through a lot with a hurricane a decade ago, and a pine beetle hitting the trees. It will be a while until is looks like it did 25 years ago. But it is on its way back and is absolutely an iconic Halifax site to visit, read the monuments, walk the dog, enjoy the forest, and watch the big ships pulling in and out of the harbor.
Excellent place to go for a walk in the woods. Great view of water. Take your time and bring a lunch.
Point pleasant is a special place. My partner and I recently adopted a dog, and our regular routine is to start our mornings with a walk through Point Pleasant with some coffee and our pup. If you are a dog owner, be wary of the restriction on the boardwalk after 10am.
Lovely trails, view of Halifax harbour Historic old forts
Great place for an afternoon walk, bicycle ride, or run. Bring your dog! Plenty of off leash areas and little trails to discover. Nice beach, monuments, views, and wildlife everywhere.
A priceless resource for all to get their exercise in , whether walking a dog ,hiking or biking . Especially in winter a spring we all need and truly value a place such as Point Pleasant
This has been one of my favorite places for decades. A wooded peninsula on the ocean with several kilometers of walking trails. On a good day you can see seals playing offshore. Great place to unwind and center yourself.
Nice trails and off leash trails for our canine friends.
I love trail along the sea shore
We use to go all the but since the renovation we went twice
Great place to visit a d great trails to walk
Favorite place to de-stress, love the views of the arm, and encounters are friendly
Fantastic day, lots of people and dogs. Just would've been nice to walk along the container pier (gate was closed)
If you enjoy long hilly walks or have a dog then this is the place.
Nice place to walk and nice views.
Beautiful trail with beautiful views.
This is my go to place when I need to relax or chill out
It is very good place to take a walk with my dog.
Pleasant park to go with friends and family. Beach at the end is awesome and we can bbq or eat some home brought food sitting in the benches in front of the beach. It's so mind-blowing.
Beautiful relaxing stop , anything can happen around you such as helicopter or swimming in December
Pleasant place to spend an afternoon.
What better place to drag a cooler bag to and enjoy a picnic lunch on a beautiful day with the salty Summer breeze. There is so much good energy here. We are lucky to have this area in Halifax : )
Point Pleasant is a gem with a variety of trails types and sights. I feel blessed to have this park in Halifax.
Beautiful park for running, biking or going for a walk. The beaches are beautiful. The Prince of Wales tower should also not be missed. Many people take their dogs there and there and it is allowed for them to be without leashes within a certain portion of the park.
A nice walk around near the water. A little hilly near the middle of the park.
A beautiful park chalk full of history
A very nice and quiet place to rewind
Just a perfect place to be dog walking, running, or strolling along the sea. A rich network of trails, some connecting historic forts and monuments. Lovely areas for picnicking, swimming, or just relaxing and watching the ducks play. Fantastic views of the harbour, harbour mouth, and NW Arm. If you're lucky, you might even catch a glimpse of the Bluenose. Most paths are stroller or bike friendly. Ample parking at both upper and lower lots, the lower has a seasonal canteen and there is a corner store just outside the upper lot, ice cream cones available!
Relatively poorly managed park land - At least it's yet to become unprotected and sold to developers.
Beautiful view with great walking trails. Lots of nature and benches for relaxing. There is off leash trails
The perfect fusion of history and nature.
Very moving. I served with many of the sailors and Naval Aviators whose names are listed on the plaques. Good to see a part of my former home, Bonaventure, displayed and continuing to serve her Ship's Company.
Point pleasant park is a beautiful park to walk
Beautiful park! Great place to bring the dog or to just explore
Amazing
Great park, lots of trails for hiking, walking, running, dog walking, & cycling. For all ages & skill level. Great View by the water, a lot of memorials to check out. Threw out the park there are benches & picnic tables to have lunch, read, or just to sit & watch nature's beauty. A must see if you are in the area & have an hour or two to spare.
Beautiful day at PPP today.
Point Pleasant is a treasure, especially during Covid. You don't have to wear a mask, people are generally in a good mood and my dog likes to be offleash. Triple win!
Great public space. Not impressed by the dogs running off leash, they should be limited to a fenced area, not running loose on public paths - not everyone likes dogs. It really detracts from the experience.
Point Pleasant Park, is a wonderful place. I have been coming here since I was a little girl. It's relaxing and a great place to walk your fur babies and a perfect place to run into old friends ????
Wonderful place to go for a jaunt, walk, or run!
We attended Shakespeare by the Sea and had a wonderful time. However you might want to book the golf cart if you have any physical limitations. It's a long walk
Generally nice park, with the only exception being large crowds.
Pleasant point is always pleasant. Great place to meet dogs.
Great time of year to be walking in the Park. Many felt that way as the Park was busy.
Biggest park on the peninsula by far, very scenic with shoreline and forest. Mini rocky beach on the shoreline where you can take a quick fairly private dip if you're willing to look for it. Grills for public use - stay left along the shoreline path. Well marked. Great for off leash walks but watch the signage - you will get checked by other park users for having an off leash dog in a no-go zone.
Great place for jogging, dogs, bikes...
wonderful place to take a walk with nice ocean view. there is a leash free zone for dogs. if you are a new commer, you can use google map that can show you even paths.
Point pleasant park is one of the nicest places to visit in Halifax for the summer. Great for dog walking, or dog watching if you can not afford a dog. Lots of well kept trails for an almost endless posibility of running routes. Lots of seating for lunch/picnic dates. It is also right next to the water, which is calm and peaceful. For sure a must visit spot on a hot sunny Halifax day, and they do not come often.
A very nice and large park to spend a good weather day visiting. There is a lot to see, from the black rock beach you can go along the shoreline trail and there are multiple monuments set up remembering naval persons lost during the wars …
Beautiful nature park in downtown Halifax. Perfect way to escape the busyness of the city and to re-connect with nature. Beautiful walking trails, and dog friendly!
Beautiful maintained park. Just note that there are a lot of areas dedicated to off leash dogs, so if you don't like dogs it's not the place for you. So lovely any time of year.
Such a lovely place! The dogs love it here!
