Hatfield Farm treats their animals very poorly and I will never do business with them. They have two horses pulling a trolley with about 12 people plus the tour guide, going up and down the steep and narrow streets of downtown Halifax. Please don't support a business that doesn't care for the wellbeing of animals.

Wonderful morning adventure with family and friends. A short horse drawn buggy ride takes you through the farm to the area with fun activities for all ages and lunch, the driver interacted wonderfully with the 4-7yo in our group and patiently answered all of their questions. The petting zoo is a great activity either before or after the ride.

I have visited there at the end of summer, it was a great place especially for kids, because they have many animals there which you can spend an amazing time with them there. There is horse riding available as well, but if you book in advance it will be better. You can have a small picnic around if you bring sandwiches with you because playground for kids is available there with limited seats. If you bring some change with you will help to buy some corn for animals there in order to have more fun and feed them. I think they have photography services as well for wedding party.

Surprise from daughter in law was an extended family "Sleigh Ride" through the property. Great experience for the grandchildren on Christmas Eve. Only thing missing was snow.

Booked our tickets on-line last week, and it turned out to be a great time. Took my girlfriend, her daughter, and two of her friends. They had a blast lol. We stayed on land, and watched them have fun. The petting zoo is a nice touch when your waiting for your ride over to the water park. Lots of animals there, and lots to see, and do between going to, and coming from the park. I'd recommend this place to anyone looking for a fun day on or in the water.

Went here as part of a work reward trip and had a fantastic time. Nice and cozy and plenty to do outside the city. I went when it was cold - the sleigh ride and hot chocolate were great. Definitely a place for special occasions. I’ll be visiting from time to time for sure.

My review is for the new year party. the farm itself is nice and have great entertainment, my main complain is for the accomodation that they offer. I paid for a private room and I was expecting minimum room services like a hotel,like towels, soap, clean sheets in the bed and a washroom.... I recieved NONE OF THE ABOVE... and they failed to tell me that. I paid for 1 matress without sheets nor pillows. There was a common washroom outside of the cabin, and you have to walk around 300 feet in the cold to share 2 showers with everyone. Also the keep the showers closed, and after complaing several times they opened them. Then they wanted me to pay extra 20 to rent a sleeping bag because there were no sheets. After complaining they told me that they were not charging me for the sleeping bag and gave me 1 (one) towel for me and my wife... the worst thing happened in the morning... I was expecting again a normal check out, but no, they call everyone at 9 o'clock and rush everyone to take the transportation back to where we have the cars.. I was expecting to take a shower before I leave but they barely gave me time to brush my teeth (no exageration). Recommendation to the farm: have more info in your page of what you are offering and send and email after people pay, explaining what to expect.

We had my daughters wedding at Hatfield this weekend. I would highly recommend this place. The setting was beautiful. From the carriage ride in to the the dinner I couldn't be more pleased. Thank you so much. The staff were friendly and put off the event with military precision.

Staff was amazing and the water park was great! We went on a rainy day unfortunately, so there should be a better set up for those kind of days since you can't cancel and reschedule. More tarps to sit under and maybe even a fire and canteen closer to the water park would help with this a lot.

Terrible experience. I just visited as part of Birthday party of my child best friend. Initially BP was booked on 12:30 but when arrived we were notified by stuff that they have 3 parties and no place for us till 1:30. Then when arrived in, they were rush us to eat and go out since wedding party was booked there. When our 16 kids were eating pizzas they were around with burns with all dust coming on food and when cake time wad , stuff were running around us with mops with cleaning supplies. I haven't experienced such worst experience yet. If I could make 0 this what it worth!!

You can do everything they have to offer in under 15 minutes. East something before you go even if your organizer has food included; food is atrociously terrible.

What a beautiful farm. We enjoyed our time here visiting with our family. The only thing is that they really skimp on things -- i'm paying $100 for a family of five. 1) The "playground equipment" i'm pretty sure was built in 1774. If your toddler does not receive massive rug burn going down the tube slide you're lucky. The jungle gym was made out of soviet era steel and the mini putt is less than thrilling. There is something that is also really permanently sticky on the swing set that felt like a slug when I touched it. Most of all its the cheap rubber hotdogs they feed you at lunch. - yum.

It's a nice place that is fun to bring s child. For covid-19 wary parents beware that kids will not be able to distance themselves from other kids snd to expect them to do so is not realistic. The snimals all look healthy and sre friendly. I think that the corn rations at the paid dispensary machines are very stingy and not worth the price. Would have given 5 stars but for the rip off price of corn.

It was a nice place. We have been there during the splashifax water park. It was a child rainy day but the lake water was warm. It's a good place to bring young kids. They have many farms to be visited. The kids like to play with and feed goats. Kids will love to see horses and ponies. Very close to Bedford and not far from Halifax downtown.

We always enjoy our visits here. The staff are amazing, and was able to fit us in for a last minute wagon ride on Easter. While we don't often come for big events, we loved the egg hunt and addition of the toddler play area in the Rubber Rodeo building. We do come to Hatfield for the petting areas and parks frequently during good weather and will keep coming back!

We did this for our twins birthday and it was great. There are play structures and inflatables for kids of all ages, petting areas, and the lodge is rustic but beautiful. The staff were really friendly and helpful. It's a great spot for any group. My wife and I were talking about coming back with friends for an adult party night as well.

We had a great time at the petting zones! Animals were well behaved, and gentle with our toddlers. The staff were awesome, as usual! Only downside was we had a hard time finding hand sanitizer as the ones around the petting zone were empty. But overall another great experience!

I want to give a very special 'thank you' to EVERYONE on the farm who assisted the folks from the RRS program who visited the farm last evening. The staff could not have done more! The staff assisted our folks with respect, dignity and great care. EVERYONE on the farm spoke with our folks; sometimes that doesn't happen. From the very beginning of our visit the staff on the farm were pleasant, welcoming and caring. The food was great, the campfire delightful, we really enjoyed everything! Thanks for making our time together so delightful!! We want to come back! I would highly recommend this farm and the staff who make it soooo good! Thanks again to all!

Very impressed with this family run business, the property is impressive. The slay ride was great, beautiful horses. Enjoyed the many wood burning fireplaces and out door fire pits. Not very organized. Went to pet the pony and it bit me. My son ended up riding it on his pony ride and told the girl it bit me. Her reply was "she does that alot". Maybe a sign should be put up to advise people not to pet her. Bad enough that I got bit but if that was a child it would have been alot worse. Goats were very sweet though.

This was absolutely amazing! Brought the kids for March break fun, and they loved it. Although the kids were winter dressed I think I was under dressed, it was freezing on the wagon ride! The wagon ride was nice, the scenery was just breathtaking. The rodeo house was really fun for the kids. There was all you can eat hotdogs in the restaurant, which was really nice. I guess the highlight of the day was the zip lines ???????????? the kids loved every moment. I definitely recommend, and next time will be in the summer for am overnight stay in one of the suites.

First time visiting Hatfield Farm on Saturday and it was a great experience. Especially the two employees who made my niece's day. The first was the young woman who took her on her 1st ever pony ride, about 1030am. And the second was the very friendly woman who drove the wagon to and from the fort for the family round up. Thank you for such great memories!

Unfortunately Very poor quality You just go around the small farm to have a look at couple empty stables and horses in the field , some goats and lamas That’s it No any entertainments and nobody pays attention to you and want to provide any service Even explain what program they have and where to go Probably there was only our family and they ignored us

The service was not enjoyable at all. They never answer their phones, making it near impossible to reach them if you need to reschedule or cancel or if you have any questions. Also the staff is rude and unaccommodating, especially to weather conditions. They do not answer questions in a welcoming way. I will not be repeating this experience.

All of your garbage from your events or parties will be burned in a massive out door furnace, just in case you are wondering what that smell is and the massive plume of black smoke that is over your shoulder when you leave this beutiful location so close to halifax, do the right thing for your children's children Hatfield and start recycling.????

We had an excellent time at Hatfield Farms. Every single member of the staff was friendly and helpful, and extremely personable. We took a private wagon ride through the grounds and enjoyed a great conversation with our guide as well as the views. We learned a lot about the farm and the various amenities available at different times of the year. We had a lot of fun meeting the very happy and well kept animals and it was easy to tell that all the staff are animal lovers and really care about their jobs. Even though we were just a group of 2 people with no kids we still got an awesome experience and will definitely be back with a larger group and will recommend to our friends with kids as well. Went during winter. Everything was up and running. Main Lodge was warm and cozy with 2 roaring fires. Kids and adults had fun in the heated bouncy barn. Wagon ride had lots of warm blankets. We will be going again.

Bring loonies for the corn machines and the animals will maul you lovingly lol kids can go for pony rides and play on the playground, we will be going back in the winter for wagon and sleigh rides because riding the pony was scary for my daughter ???? my special needs clients thoroughly enjoy the pony rides though!

Our granddaughter had a great time ,but I would like to make some suggestions, there should be someone at both zip lines to help keep the kids safe,also when our granddaughter took the horse ride as she was getting off she had to slip off ,the people that are with the horses should pay a little attention ,and it would be so easy to have a step made so it would be easier to get on and off the horse

We were there for a family sleigh ride, sadly no snow so it was a chilly wagon ride. A bit bumper. Everyone enjoyed themselves though. The petting area was very popular. Nice facility. A good way to spend family time.bring your own blanket on colder days!
