You will be able to see the opinions of people like you who have information of the products of South March Highlands Conservation Forest (Zoo) in Gatineau area (Canada).
As of day the firm has a rating of 4.7 over 5 and the rating has been calculated on 127 reviews.
You may have noticed that the average score it has is nearly the top, and it's founded on a large number of opinions, so we may conclude that the rating is very faithful. If people have bothered to value when they've done well, is that it works.
As you know, we don't usually stop to write feddbacks when these are good and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or issue...
This Zoo is included in the category of Park.
Great trail network...however we could not cope with the mosquitos the day we visited.
Great hiking trail. A bit rough. Lots of mosquitoes. It's a biking trail first and a hiking trail second though. Be courteous and get out of the way of bikers.
Really fun trails for riding. Super technical challenging little punchy climbs and a great forest to hang out in.
So many long and diverse trails! Conveniently located, yet the quietness and beauty is not sacrificed. Well-protected from sun, so snow stays on the trees for a while, and provides shaded relief in the hot months.
Great for hiking and mountain biking, beware of bugs
Awesome trails. Good for walking and biking.
Great walking path with a lots of variety and sceneries.
Great place to mountain bike or walk. Lots of bugs
Beautiful Forest. Lots of trails and lots of chipmunks and geese ????
Nice place to run moderate
An absolutely beautiful park, I am so lucky to have this place close by to where I live. Don't forget to bring your phone though because it's easy to get lost in here. Trust me, the last time I went I made the mistake of not paying attention to how far I was going and ended up walking for almost 5 hours. Definitely a must see if you are in the area and love nature! :)
Great place to go mountain biking. Trails for all skill levels well maintained by volunteers from OMBA. Can get busy late afternoon or early evening. See map, air pump and bike supper for quick repairs located at North East park access.
Great spot for technical trail biking.
Nice trails in the winter for snowshoeing. A little on the busy side, but very scenic.
Rugged beautiful nature trails so close to home! Kids and dog love it! It's our go to place for a lazy Sunday afternoon. Great hikes year round!
Great trails
Great trails to walk, bike, snowshoe
Best MTB trails in Kanata
Amazing trail system. Well maintained by the OMBA. Great for hiking, running and mountain biking
Wide variety of trails from easy to more difficult. I ran for 3 hours so I got to see them all! I really enjoyed all the rocks and roots. Beautiful views of the water and lots of wonderful nature sounds. I took my kids for a hike here also and they loved jumping from rock to rock and walking on the roots. It's a great area to walk your dog as well and they can cool off in the pond. Parking is located on a road but the shoulder is wide. I went in the morning and by the time I left, it was getting pretty busy. I would definitely recommend trying to get out in the morning if you want to avoid a rush of people.
Amazing area to hike. Easy hikes that are good for the whole family.
The best conservancy in Ottawa. A beautiful trail. People love this place as there is always a long line of cars standing on the road for going into trail on foot or on bicycles.
Great tech mountain biking area
Excellent mountain biking
Beautiful trails for hiking and biking!
Walk was nice but check yourself/pets carefully for ticks!
Nice rough biking trails
Beautiful manicured trails, and even has a pretty good difficulty to it. It's well signed, but take a picture of the trail map if you can.
Beautiful forest. Watch out for cyclists
This is a fantastic area for outdoor activities. Whether you are hiking, biking, or snowshoeing. Not ideal for cross country skiing due to rugged terrain, but I'm sure some do it. Lots of access points to the trails. Watch out for ticks though.
Good technical rock paths good ride
Nice relaxing trails not very challenging though. Good intermediate level. Lots of snakes made it interesting!
Great place for a hike. Many options for loops in many sizes.
The variations in length of the trails are convenient as you can take shorter routes in different variations before moving to the longer one or more difficult. I give it a 4 stars because there is no specifications of the lengths of the segments nor additional marking to know that you are on the correct path after passing a split.
Good walking area
This is a great place to escape from the city and take in some nature
Beautiful forest!!!
Great for medium to hat's running and biking trails
great place to go biking, hiking, walk the dog and even geocaching!
Nice trails for walking and mountain biking. Great place to introduce kids to mountain biking. Marshy, so mosquitos are a problem in the summer.
Great MTB trails relatively close to the city balancing sustainability and maintaining technical challenge. Lots of features to develop bike handling skills. Amazing work by volunteers and advocacy by OMBA to make it possible. Join OMBA! On the mild downside... Although there are short, punchy inclines, it's really pretty flat overall - only riding here will not build your climbing legs much. Maybe lots of people would consider this a plus though. Otherwise, the trails can get quite busy at peak times.
(Translated) Very nice against some dead tree could be dangerous and should be removed. (Original) Très beau par contre certains arbre mort pourraient être dangereux et devrait être enlevé.
Amazing!
Gorgeous and clean.
Great trail for biking and walking. The deeper you go in the more difficult the trail gets. Has several boardwalks, rocky areas, and regular trail areas.
Great fat biking trails
Be aware that there are no trail markers on trees.
Vast trails, like maze
Rugged trail, bikes use this as well, but the trail canbe challenging. Wear proper footwear and bring water. Could be better marked as some trails are not heavily trafficed. Arrows or tree markers as orientation can be confusing.
Nice forest
Ive been biking there since i was 5, nice area
Slow technical bike trails. Lots of rocks and roots. Not bad. Not a thrill ride though.
Excellent conservation area. Signage for paths and routes could be better. This would help new hikers find their way.
Nice set of biking trails
Great mountain bike trails, super technical. Could use some better signing, but that could just be me being unfamiliar with the location combined with all of the leaves on the ground.
Geat place to hike, bike or bring your furry friend. I would definitely recommend the trip out here. The terrain is great for all skill levels and will keep you coming back
Nice for all level hikers and experienced bikers. Handy bicycle repair station at the Klondike entrance.
It's a true nature. Very natural scenery.
lots of bikes and dogs all year round. Sometimes difficult to navigate, but overall a great park for everyone.
Awesome trails :)
Just recently discovered this place while looking for areas to take pictures of birds and wildlife. Haven’t had the opportunity to use these trails which would be primarily for bikes mountain and fat bikes. Was very cool to see this in the heart of Kanata. Mountain and fat bikers need to check this area out. Bike pump stations are available at the beginning of the trail which is cool.
Ive been biking there since i was 5, nice area
Favorite forest in Ottawa, so diverse! Many paths you can take, dog friendly, but also favorite place among mountain bikers so be careful
Home to the Ottawa mountain biking club, great for hiking and walks, with our without you dog.
Scenic view
Beautiful nature trails to explore.
Fantastic forest. Rough trails, a little technical, closer to natural then most. Great for both walking and bicycle trail riding. A great place to see the autumn colours.
We love love love walking here, but I reserve the final star because sometimes walking can be annoying with so many bikes going by. You have to stop and stand off the path in the bushes to let them pass. Lovely scenery and incredibly peaceful when alone.
Great bike trails. Technical single track. Awesome fat biking in the winter as well. Support OMBA for trail maintenance!
It's a great park to hangout with lot of trails for dog walks and hiking. I'd recommend this for those who want to have a quick getaway and wanna enjoy some peaceful time on a forest. The parking is on the street towards east of the park entrance and it's free and parallel parking. It's also a great place for mountain bike riding ????????
Very nice winter trails.
Beautiful trails for hiking or snowshoeing
Lots of trails to walk or bike.
Great trails for mountain biking
Great shot to walk around, numerous trails that will take you on various lengths and times depending on your choice. Sentences are waiting busy especially when bikers get together but still worth the hike!
Great place to go, only challenge is unexpected fast bike encounters.
Awesome trails! Lakes, ponds and deer
Close to where I love, it's nice, and beautiful trail, with lots of hikes and spots, you would love to explore the forest area..
Peaceful
Beautiful scenery and somewhat challenging trails (in a good way).
Beautiful hiking spot. Dog friendly.
Great hike. I'm glad that everyone respected the share trails.
Spectacular trails for mountain biking, running, or walking/hiking.
Well maintained trails (over dirt paths, flat stones, and rocky outcroppings), nice views, easy parking, and (for the most part) good signage. Note trails are popular with families, mountain bikers and dog walkers.
Great trails fun time. Recommend going.
Beautiful spot for walking and mountain biking on the edge of Ottawa. Though you may want to bring some bug spray.
Nature=great
Fat bike trails are great!
Amazing trails right in the city
Beautiful trails! Lots of options. We didn't find it crowded at all...we only seen a few people and bikers.
decent hike. I hiked along bear trail- fast passtout- rockhopper - Kildonik, as it was hot and interiors trails were shaded .Though all trails well marked recommend using all trails as it might be confusing. nice place for biking. lot of mosquitoes. plz using bug spray.
My favourite trail
Great place to walk.
Great MTB spot for amateur and advanced riders.
Hidden gem on Old 2nd Line... cannot miss it! Beautiful setting...
It was beautiful but bumpy. Definitely not stroller friendly.
Scenic
Beautiful forest full of life and fall color. Had some trouble finding a trailhead; Brady trailhead is near old second line and Klondike.
Beautiful area with many trails Offering several hours of hiking o be the Canadian shield. Fun hiking and a great mountain biking off-road area. trails meander through several swamps and diverse biosystems. most trails are not flat so people with balance trouble may find it too difficult, but most people will be fine.
Saw a blandings turtles and a lot of evidence of otters all around. Beautiful bit of real Canadian scenery not too far away from home. Parking lot is not huge and I could see it getting busy but luckily it was empty the day I went. Probably a good idea to bring bug spray!
Nice place to walk around. I am planning to go on a sunny day when there ll be no snow.
One of the best parts of living in Morgan's Grant is this wonderful spot for mountain biking, trail-running, and snowshoeing. The mountain biking is quite technical and challenging. I like to go running and it's quite nice with the few ponds and winding trails.
I love the trails - decent selection of open areas, wooden darkness. Just terrific.
Good trail to walk on with family and friends! Multiple difficulty levels
Lovely nature
Beautiful trails, fall leaves are in perfect shape. CC SQUARED Photography will keep this location as a staple!!
Great trails for biking from beginner to more advanced. awesome place to take the dog, though they are required "to be leashed" if you have a well behaved dog, you can get away with him being loose. And don't expect him to come home clean LOL.
Nice paths and scenery for walking, but is pretty busy and can get really icy in the winter once the paths are well trodden
Wonderful variety of trails, well marked, great to have this conservation area within city limits.
Beautiful trails for running - go through a few different terrains. A lot of mountain bikes go through so would stick to the forest if here to trail run. Mosquitoes are horrible so bring spray.
Great place to visit at any season with trails of various length and difficulty, walking or biking.
Possibly one of the most challenging and beautiful range of trails in the greenbelt. The trails are well maintained for cycling and labeled by both the NCC and the Ottawa Mountain Bike Association. Lots of unique terrain and beautiful hidden points of interest. One of the few places in Ottawa you can still find truly enormous old growth trees next to outcrops of glacier scraped bedrock. There are no designated parking lots and no public washrooms. There is a bicycle pump and tool set for public use at the main entrance.
Funnn fun easy hike ???? great to spend a couple of hours waking, having a nice coffee and chatting with friends ????
Explore the most popular trails in South March Highlands Conservation Forest with hand-curated trail maps and driving directions as well as detailed reviews and photos from hikers, campers and nature lovers like you.
Tough for kids to bike
Its great service normally tonight their drive threw was busy and the service wasn't very good they messed up my drink and didn't serve my friend
Amazing pease of nature.
Best trails for mountain biking in Ottawa on the Southside.
Poetique place, allows you to wonder and contemplate. There is also a cool rock that looks like a chair/Fatboy just near the second pond!
Found a snake. Be careful where you rest
From a mountain biking perspective, if you like technical trails and rock gardens then this is the place for you. One caution...this place is a maze and poorly marked with trail signs. A 60 minute walk can easily double if you get lost!
Nice challenging bike trails. Good option if you can't go north of the river.
A busy trail system on nice days. Moderate walking difficulty in places. Need full suspension bike. Rough in places.
Very challenging trails, much more so than I expected.
Beautiful day, beautiful walk.
Great trails
Great place for mountain biking, walking, running, hiking, and orienteering!
One of my favorite places to be besides Algonquin Park
It a trail for all levels of mountain bikers....
Beautiful! Great easy trails!
Great path where you feel wilderness in the city. Different loops for everyone from 1km to 15km
Easy parking. There is only access on one side, off of Second Line Rd. Trails are well maintained and people are always very curtious when your meeting from opposite directions (whether on bike or walking). Good variety of trails from dirt, rock, roots and a few good drops and quick climbs all within a beautiful mix of forest, lake and marsh environments.
Best trails in Ottawa for me
Very nice paths that can be walked all year. So easy to get there and close to home. It is ideal to have a bit of nature that is much quieter.
Great trails for hiking and wildlife. Just like being in Algonquin park
Great forest with a trail that fits all levels.
Awesome OMBA Spring Mountain Bike Demo Day!
This is an amazing place to come enjoy nature. The grounds are well kept. Great place for romantic photos.
Great mountain biking! Lots of technical trails
Very popular biking and hiking trails with beautiful scenery. The trails are very well maintained. There's a hidden 1900's house ruin in the forest too for the explorer to discover
A good mix of technical and novice trails for mountain biking, from my one time riding experience. The bugs were a bit hairy in slower rocky spots. Otherwise well maintained for the amount of traffic that I noticed.
Awesome multi-use trail. Primary for mountain bikes, and they have put in a huge amount of work build trails and bridges. We take our dogs and hike to the back section, about an 8km loop on PWT (Pete's Wicked Trail). An Ottawa hidden gem for sure
Loved the fireflies, just beautiful and great trails
Kilometres of hiking and mountain biking trails, rocks, beaver ponds, marshes, lakes. A lot of wildlife.
I really enjoy going to this conservation area. It is deceivingly big and the trails are quite fun, and offer a variety of views. You can do just a quick walk on some of the trails, or, for the longer routes, you can spend the whole day hiking. It's in a great location and would recommend it to all you Morgan's granters out there.
Bugs bugs and bugs in the summers
Awesome trails, something for everyone. Pretty rocky, so run tubeless to have the best experience. Also a bell is nice cause tons of hikers use the trail as well
As a mountain biker this is one of my favorite places to ride in the Ottawa region and it also provides a great experience for hiking in the spring/fall and snowshoeing in the winter. In the summer bugs can be a bit intense so be prepared. There is signs on the trails and the trails are maintained by the local mountains bike community. Dog walkers are asked to please carry their waste bags out with them.
Great place to go biking, hiking or to walk the dog. Well maintained trail system ready to provide a challenge to riders of every skill level. Trails are shared between hikers and bikes. There are multiple entrances along Second line. The main one being across from Klondike road. All trails are well marked with signs. Plenty of parking along the road. Can be busy at times but a spot is usually not hard to come by. The South March Highlands is a 457-hectare forested nature preserve and is accessible year-round.
It has improved greatly over the past few years. Many trails are rocky or crossed by tree roots so watch your step. If you are new to these trails, take a map or a cell phone with the Maps app. Lots of shade for a hot day.
I was new to mountain biking and this trail appeared to be the only one around Ottawa. I think it's a good trail, but too technical for a starter... And the bike wasn't really up for it. I'll be returning there. Advise is to not bike alone... I did and in the late afternoon, it was deserted, leaving me almost alone in a big forest (only chipmunks to fear though).
Don't let my high rating keep you from checking for ticks here. I have got quite a few. Wear pants.
trails were well marked
Love this place. Great get away in all four Seasons. Yet not too far that you can't get home for supper.
Just used side walk for skateboarding
Very technical running conditions
Great place to go for nature walks. It is also used for mountain biking but the interactions I have had have all been positive. I love taking my kids there to appreciate a beautiful natural place in any season. This place should be preserved at all costs.
South March Highlands Conservation Forest offers an elevated number of trails with different degrees of difficulty and length. The natural landscapes are absolutely stunning and justify multiple visits to explore everything you want to. The only necessary improvement is that some bigger maps informing about the numerous intersecting trails should be put at different strategic spots to help people find their way.
This is relatively small and really beautiful island of the nature. Good maintained area with trails for bicycles.
This track is super technical which is great if you're into that kind of thing. If you're looking for a flowing dirt trail this is not the place for you
Great place for mountain biking or hiking year round.
Really beautiful area. Only lost a star because I came out with two ticks! Luckily found and removed before they had time to "dig in".
Awesome trails for biking walking and enjoying nature.
Great for squirrels and birds,
Amazing place to hike. Beatiful views
Nice place to travel, to make a short track with kids. Also nice to wALk with dog.
Very well maintained. Multiple activities like biking for all seasons, bird feeding, walking your dog.
Nice place to be in peace and have quick hike. Lots of bugs though in summers.
Great on-leash dog-friendly trails.
Fantastic mountain biking (and hiking) trails.
October 17, 2020 Located in Kanata, right off of Highway 417, you'll find this beautiful hike. The South March Highlands Conservation Forest is just a quick drive from downtown Ottawa. It's an excellent forest for mountain biking or a moderate hike. In autumn, you'll find the changing colours of the trees stunning! It's a dog-friendly forest as well. There are many paths that you can take that easily loop around. Although muddy at times, make sure you bring appropriate footwear. Parking is sporadic: you can park along Chemin Second Line. Overall, an excellent hike not too far from the downtown core.
Lovely in 4 seasons!
Fun hike that gives you lots of options for difficulty and length. If you go far enough in you can forget you are still in a big city. Take a picture of the map and have good battery charge since it can get confusing.
Nice MTB Trails
Nice place for a little hike with the kids. It's also a mountain bike trail with various degrees of difficulty clearly marked. Trails are maintained by the Ottawa Mointain Bike club
Its a great trail in the winter, the snow looks like cotton candy on the trees
Nice trail on the edge of the city
Love this place . So peaceful. Great for mountain bike
Magical
A must see for anyone who lives in kanata or ottawa area
Beautiful hike right in they city
I love the trails through the woods. Beautiful place!
One of the best spots in Ottawa to hike, trail run, or mountain bike. Check the map at the entrance on Klondike. Very easy to get lost or do a small loop and think you've covered everything. I recommend bringing a pen and marking which trails you'll be connecting to, after 5 or 6 turns, very easy to get lost.
Great atmospher, good food and service. ????????????
Love love the trails. Be very wary about mosquitoes
I Love going for walks here on my own or with my dog
We started planning an hour and a half hike and ended an enjoyable 3 hours later. The green trails are filled with little painted rocks and even the blue trails had some nice views. These trails are even more beautiful in the fall.
It's great in here!
This is either the hardest or second hardest set of trails within the city of Ottawa. The trails are great all year round except immediately after the snow melts when they are a bit soft. Weekends the trails can be crowded close to second line but the crowds rarely go more than 4k in. Bring a phone with you because it can be easy to get lost. The outer loop takes 3.5 hours walking and it gets dark in the woods early.
Hiking and biking spot. Not very stroller friendly
Absolutely beautiful. Love the trails and the ooptions very dense forest at areas and pretty open in others. People love going there for bike rides but it is not entirely walk friendly. Most people should be fine but there are some uneven spots so be warned. It will be very difficult for someone with mobility issues. Probably impossible of you have a walker, stroller, or wheelchair.
Beautiful area.
Very nice
Peaceful location for a hike. Lots of trails! Note pathways are shared with biking enthusiasts.
Beautiful place to walk/run/bike through especially in the Fall. Signs are appropriately placed to warn people of plants that can cause skin burns and irritation. Afternoon well spent.
Nice walk
Great trails for a technical run. Not too hilly but always a great workout.
Great place for mountain biking and trail running. The expert trails are sure to challenge you as a cyclist and as a runner. I recommend taking a picture of the map of Klondike Road and bring a GPS or use the Strava app to ensure you don't lose your bearings. The trails are marked but there are multiple offshoots especially on the expert trails. As a runner, this is the only place I run but bring mosquito spray if you plan to stop. Listen for oncoming bikes and give them the right of way, as a lot of experienced riders use these trails and can be as fast as lightning. Keep in mind, these are mountain bike trails and the Ottawa Mountain Biking Association maintains the trails. Check out their website and you can get a copy of the trail map. If you run or bike alone make sure someone knows where you are and the estimated time you plan to be gone.
Great place to do some mountain biking and hiking. Harder than most trails.
Beautiful nature walks and trails. Very good for mountain biking.
Terrific mountain biking!
Very nice trail for walking and jogging, bike paths near by
had one time so so experience there.
It's beautiful, but I didn't realize how busy it would be.
Perfect place to do anything! Walking the dog, hiking, running, or biking. If you have a dog, you must clean up after them as this is a conservation area!
Beautiful spots. Great variety of trails and landscapes. Loads of red squirrels and chickadees with the odd ue jay here and there. Although this seems to be popular for mountain biking we did not encounter a single bike. Very enjoyable place for a walk. There are also quite a few trails here.
Very advanced in some parts, be careful of gps battery and remaining sunlight..!
Rockhopper is an awful ride!
best bike/running trails available in the west end of ottawa ????
Hiking, running, mountain biking
It's a fine park. I wished that the further trails would of been an access to them. Looked like mountain bike trails.
Nice multi-purpose area
My go to place for mountain biking in the Ottawa area. Well run and maintained by the Ottawa Mountain Biking Association (OMBA).
Only got to ride the basic trails, but they were amazingly well kept and an extremely enjoyable ride. Was a great way to break in my bike after a few months waiting on parts but will definitely be going back ASAP.
Great place to hike with a dog. Be careful of ticks!!
(Translated) Very beautiful trail in the forest. But don't forget the insecticide. (Original) Très beau sentier en forêt. Mais n'oublier pas l'insecticide.
Multi use trails. Very technical with lots of rocks and roots. A different yet very fun challenge for a mountain bike!
Beautiful place, but no washrooms, trails marked very poorly.
Great trails
This a beautiful location for walking or mountain biking right in Morgan's Grant (residential neighborhood in Kanata North). It can get a little wet as it seems to be over a swamp so best to avoid right after significant rains. This is not an issue in the heart of summer but a consideration in the spring and fall. There is unique wildlife and beautiful trails. Every Ottawa resident should check it out at least once.
Peacefull
Beautiful place, many options for hiking and cycling. Quiet and peaceful. I really recommend it.
Great mountains bike trails for more advanced riders theatrical trails .
GOOD Good P
My friend and I visited this place for the first time this week and it's a really lovely area for a walk in the bush, especially in the fall. We walked the shortest loop, which was around 3KM long and fairly easy (we are seniors!). There are a few other, longer and more challenging options there as well. Lots of large and colourful second-growth trees and swampy bush. The trails are reasonably clear in most places, but some spots it was hard to see where to go. There were trail markers, but only at intersections. Sections through the most swampy areas are either boardwalk, or large stones laid in a path. A very enjoyable couple of hours.
Beautiful scenic trail in jungle
Nice bit of nature, not very stroller accessible though...
Delightful spot for a winter walk in the woods. No mosquitos at all! Undulating terrain. Watch out for tree roots and rocks on the trail.
Excellent technical trails.
Great outdoor trails for biking, hiking and dog walking.
Got there just as winter was ending so the trails were a bit muddy and it wasn't the most photogenic time of the year, but I still had an awesome time! Lots of interesting trails and cool sights to see. I'm definitely looking forward to getting back here again! Make sure you navigate to "South March Highlands Trail Network" to find the entrance.
This is primarily a mountain biking area, maintained by the Ottawa Mountain Bike Association, but the trails are readily walkable and the rolling ground, large rocks, water features and forested areas make it a great hiking area with many well-used and marked trails. Some signage is a bit confusing (or missing) but Google Maps has the area well covered.
Nice place to get away from the noise, lots of mosquito though
Fantastic place. The forest looks like from a fairy tale.
Beautiful winter hike on interesting terrain with rocky outcrops. Several paths to take.
Great trails. It looked very busy when we pulled up due to he high volume of cars, but once on the trails you rarely see anyone.
The trail is covered in pointy rocks and is not ideal for hiking.
Great family time spent on the trails
Great trail system for outdoor enthusiasts - the trails are well marked for how to get back to the Parking lot as well as for terrain challenge. There are always bikers, runners, walkers, snowshoers and doggos about and everyone is generally friendly and respectful of others.
What a spot. If you are looking for an easy walk or a trail run this is your place. Very cool nature nugget we have to enjoy!!!
Beautiful network of walking trails. On-leash dog friendly due to the mountain bikers. Uneven but relatively flat terrain
Trails are always clear but not maintained witch makes biking a lot of fun.
Great for walks with family, trail bikes, snowshoeing in winter
Wonderfully maintained trails, though parts of them can get a little rugged - especially for greenbelt trails! This is the closest I have come to a real hike in this area. Watch out for the bugs! They were pretty thick into August this year. I’d imagine this area gets pretty damp in the spring, so plan accordingly. Also, make sure you’re route stays clear of the private property!
Great nature trails in the heart of Kanata. A jewel of Ottawa. Don't need to head to Gatineau Park to enjoy Autumn colours
Nice trail, biking path, a couple of muddy ponds on the trail.
Nice place to take a stroll around
Great place for a hike or mountain biking..
My kids enjoyed this place.
Conservation area is nice. WARNING: Google Maps directions will take you to the wrong side of the park, where there are zero trailheads. It took me 15 min of driving to the opposite side to find an access point. Do not trust the robot to get you there!!!
Amazing for nature walks
Great shared mountain bike/walking trails. Ontario mountain bike association (OMBA) really does a good job maintaining the trails
Excellent hiking trails of varied length. It is a rough terrain with rocky trails so wear good shoes.
Awesome hikes accessible for most.
Very natural environment, depends upon the type of trail, some place bit difficuilt to walk
Excellent mountain biking or trail walking
The best set of trails inside Ottawa to hike, trail run or mountain bike. Lots of rocky/rooty ups and downs, over ridges, bridges over swamps and several ponds. Can do loops of 5 to around 20k.
Bugs were a little ridiculous lol but the area is beautiful and well worth the walk.
Very nice trek and bike trails. Not a very plain trail, there are a small amount of ups and downs. We will be regular visitors!!
I mountain bike this area. I find the trail technical, and challenging. Worth checking out.
Great biking and hiking trails for all difficulties! I always walk my goat there.
Amazing trails
Nice trail network
Beautiful
Beautiful old trees, great trails, and mountain biking!
Busy, but for a reason. Exceptionally good place to build up technical mountain biking skills!
The best park in Kanata for outdoor activities.
Very nice
A lovely wooded place to wander well marked paths
Best mountain biking in the Ottawa area
Awesome place for a walk. Lots of trails with elevation changes and some small lakes with a beaver hut. Beaver was out when I walked by. Great time.
Trails in Autumn ???? are hard to see with all the leaves on the ground Stay safe
Great trails for running and cycling
Very nice forest with lakes and rocky ridges. Many paths to explore.
Parking lot needs to be bigger
Excellent walking, running and mountain biking trails. There is a trail map at the Klondike entrance and the trail names are well marked along the trails.
Nice trail.
Nice trail
great mountain biking
Great mountain biking
It's a great place to wall, bike and run dogs. There are couples of trails for different levels, distance and purposes. Beartree is a nice easy one while Rockhopper is the most popular one. South Douglas and North Douglas form a nice loop. PWT is the most challenging long loop. Sure you can combine these trails for your best benefits.
Lots of trails with variety of difficulty levels.. for cycling and walking..
Ok
Great for mountain biking.
Beautiful park in the middle of Kanata North
My favourite bike trails in the Ottawa region. Well maintained, beautiful nature, and not overcrowded.
Always super good riding.
Mountain Biking Heaven
It's good trail
Just started Fat Biking and my husband, who rides these beautiful trails all summer, gave a guided tour. Lots of people out, snowshoeing, dog walking, fat biking, beautiful day!!! Gorgeous area for sure!
A wonderful place to walk and so convenient. I highly recommend especially if you have a dog.
This conservation is much bigger than it looks on the map! Walking around for hours is possible. Great mountain bike trails for all skill levels. Would definitely go back
Very nice hike. Rocky and fun trails
very quite and peaceful place to visit
Fantastic riding if you like technical trails with lots of rock and punchy climbs. Densely wooded so it takes a while for the trails to dry out, and it can be very buggy at times.
Nice area
Absolutely gorgeous area for hiking! If you are a mountain biker, Ottawa Mountain Bike Association owns lots of great trails here.
Beautiful in the suburbs hiking... not overly busy but even on a quiet day you will come across many other people.. dogs love it but keep them on a leash as many other dogs, people and bikes on the trails. Good for short hikes or if you cross beyond the pond hours of easy paced hiking.
So beautiful place.
Bike ride here 3X a week!
Great trail system.
Peaceful place!
Great biking spot
Mountain biking is fun here but be ready for rocks!
Nice trail with combination of forest, footbridge and pond. Some trail are made of limestone. This is a very diverse area. You can also bike along the trails. At the main entrance (end of Klondike road) there is a mini station to inflate or fix your bike. Many person with dogs as well. May be a good idea to wear trailing shoes has some area have stones and rocks on the trail. Nice for family to pass sometime in the nature. Enjoy!
A gem. Not overly crowded like Gaineau Park is. Tons of trails for walking, hiking, biking, whatever. I honestly feel like this is a hidden place as not too many people know of it. Parking is kind of annoying though. Enjoy
Great place to go for a walk or to mountain bike. Cross country skiing but only if you like ungroomed, back country trail
Beautiful trails, only did a short loop as the sun was setting and we didn't want to be stuck in the dark. Got to see this cool owl on our walk too.
Walkers paradise.
great place for a hike or bike ride!
Amazing place for a long walk. Great time
Absolutely gorgeous! You can spend a whole day walking here and still not cover all the trails. An easy-moderate hike. Dogs allowed.
A bit slippery on the trails, not ideal for walking
It's beatiful
Excellent place to go for a walk
Well maintained Mountain Bike trail system.
Great place to MTB ride!
Since discovering trail running, this place has come to be my go to spot. There is a good variety of diffuclty ranging from novice to quite technical terrain. You will find a lot of rock, mud if it has rained and many bridges over water. For the most part it is fairly flat unless you venture to the PWT trail. It is not usually too crowded either. I would say mainly bikers use these trails and everyone is friendly. If you have yet to venture in these trails, you are missing out.
Great place for a hike or a ride before a pint at the Cheshire Cat pub
Amazing MTB location, not for beginners though.
Good place to hike in the city. Lots of bikes but everyone is polite.
This is a really awesome trail for walkers and bikers. Its wonderful holding great paths and captivating scenes.
Trails poorly marked.
Very natural scenery, very suitable for hiking, fresh air~
Great place to walk the dog. Snow shoes help in the winter. Next year we buy the bikes with the big tires to do the trails.
Well marked trails, beautiful forest with surprises to find along the way...nature at its best within. Kanata
Great little network of trails! Great as an intro for kids, as well as a good spot for inexperience adults.
Quite a few trails with level sign
Really nice.
One word "amazing". To think that this was such a short drive away from my home for so long makes my jaw drop. As others have mentionned it could be possible to get lost as there are a lot of well used trails crossing each other, but it's worth the effort and a bit of preparation should be easy enough. My kids had a blast, I can't wait to go back.
Great network of forested trails!
Lots of great options for turning from a short walk to a long walk. Definitely wouldn't walk here in the spring as it goes around a swamp. Lots of bikers but and can get quite busy. Some good challenging areas for mountain biking but still fairly easy for walking. Very rocky.
Awesome trails for running!
Great trails of varying difficulty to explore on your bike.
Nice trail. Very peaceful. We saw a beaver dam in the water.
From a mountain biking perspective, if you like technical trails and rock gardens then this is the place for you. One caution...this place is a maze and poorly marked with trail signs. A 60 minute walk can easily double if you get lost!
Great place, just west of the city in North Kanata, for a short walk or a 2 hour hike. Depends on which trails you take. Interesting hardwood forest and Canadian Shield area.
Great hiking trails from easy to Long and somewhat challenging.
A gem of a destination for biking.
Beautiful place
Very good
(Translated) Beautiful ! (Original) Très beau !
Great place and good, technical trails. I love how well I've seen all the bikers and dog walkers get along. Need to stop poisoning the wildlife to appease the locals though.
Best trails for mountain biking in the area! The local club takes good care of the trails and the atmosphere is very friendly.
