This is a great museum to visit to learn more about the region's history. Unfortunately, the library was closed due to flooding (but it's probably open now), but the gift shop made up for it. You should definitely do the VR experience to learn more about fishing - it was one of the highlights of my trip.

We understand that it is necessary to change the terms of visit with the pandemic but the museum is only open two hours a day for the free visit for which we must reserve. Arrived on time (2:30 p.m.), all visitors are stuck waiting to enter tiny exhibition halls. Why not open all day and make appointments every 10 minutes to ensure the famous physical distancing? Full of employees and visitors all caught up in each other. It's ridiculous! Everything that is audiovisual was not functional, which is generally of great interest to children, at least mine. My two kids, my partner and I hated it. By far one of the worst museums ever visited and as a history teacher I'm used to . If you want to learn more about the Gaspé, visit the National Site of the Battle of Restigouche, the Parc National de Miguasha, the Musée des Acadiens and Cradle of Canada (free!). You will then have plenty view, full story and bang for your buck. (Original) Extrêmement déçue par ce musée. On comprend qu'il faille modifier les modalités de visite avec la pandémie mais le musée n'est ouvert que deux heures par jour pour la visite libre pour laquelle on doit réserver. Arrivés à l'heure dite (14h30), tous les visiteurs sont coincés à attendre pour entrer dans de minuscules salles d'exposition. Pourquoi ne pas ouvrir toute la journée et donner des rendez-vous aux 10 minutes afin d'assurer la fameuse distanciation physique? Plein d'employés et de visiteurs tous pris les uns sur les autres. C'est ridicule! Tout ce qui est audiovisuel n'était pas fonctionnel, ce qui intéresse en général énormément les enfants, du moins les miens. Mes deux enfants, mon conjoint et moi avons détesté. De loin un des pires musées jamais visités et en tant qu'enseignante d'histoire, j'ai l'habitude . Si vous voulez en apprendre sur la Gaspésie, visitez plutôt le Lieu national de la bataille de Ristigouche, le Parc National de Miguasha, le Musée des Acadiens et Berceau du Canada ( gratuit!). Vous en aurez alors plein la vue, plein l'histoire et pour votre argent.

Il n’y avait aucun extrait sonore alors que c’est une expo sur une chanteuse. Peut-être dans l’autre salle... Nous avons tout de même visité le reste du musée. La réalité virtuelle qui se passe sur un bateau de pêche était fascinant. À l’extérieur, on peut d’ailleurs admirer le bateau original mis en scène.
