I have been using Canadian Tire's order online and pick up at the store in Summerside PEI since last year. Initially when I used the system my item was waiting up front for me at their customer service desk. The email notification of item ready was also in sync. An easy quick in and out and all was well. The last three times however the system has broken down. Pickup email the first time, item not at the desk.Second time, no email but customer service showing the order ready. Again I waited. Third time I asked for the item without the pickup email and the agent did get it for me but became enraged that I asked her to do that. Instead of looking at it as having done me a great service she took afront and lost the customer for her story instead. Awful customer relations. we are still basically good here. I have bought a lot of stuff here over the past few years, but the service has gotten increasingly worse. Finding adequate help on the sales floor is a challenge for sure. The store layout is also not streamlined and organized so as to be conducive to finding what you need on your own. I placed an online order (many stores of this scale offer same or next day pickup), and I have been waiting for 2-3 days. If I had known that, I may have just come into the store and got the item myself (assuming that I'd be able to find it). In the summer, there was no checkout outside or in the garden center (which may have helped with social distancing and ease of use).The parking lot has parking stalls right outside the exit of the store (with large yellow posts) which don't allow much room for a person exiting with a cart of merchandise (I really dont know who designed this layout as it makes little sense to me), and the parking lot is rather cramped. Canadian tire also doesn't accept refund or gift cards for online orders - which I find ridiculous and staff won't hold items overnight for pickup. Overall, the service is really lacking - especially for busy folks with families who do a lot of online shopping and/or don't have time to waste. Lastly, I don't particularly care for the transition that they've made to mainly self-checkouts. I have had issues many times with scanning errors and find it cumbersome to wade through people with a cart full of items, especially if they are large items. I am shopping here less and less as time goes on since these issues seem to be getting worse, and my husband much prefers Home Depot (which is too bad since we're trying to shop at Canadian stores).

Not entirely sure why if I return a produce with a package that doesn’t design to be repackaged was an issues. I had to cut open a package to try out the produce. “Oh you have to make sure it’s in a sellable condition” but you are selling the product not the package right? What am I suppose to do if the product was packaged in hard plastic and you have to cut it open? I found that a bit unreasonable. The staff was not friendly nor helpful.

Got my car worked on there today. This morning they said there were no appointments until the next day and then I drop it off and they say well maybe we can have a look at it turns around they looked at it and fixed it in a few hours. The problem was the horn they installed wasn't working properly and the serpentine belt came off after the alternator they put on. I was going to put the belt on myself but I noticed the air conditioning belt was still on there and it was a difficult task to remove it then put the serpentine belt on and put the AC belt back on so I took it to Canadian Tire to have them look at the horn anyway. I got a bill for a starting charging inspection of $35 and a bill for an air conditioner compressor belt for 5 0.33. I get in the car I drive at home the air conditioner don't work now and the horn still doesn't work. Not happy will change my review if tomorrow they fix everything

I took in my car because the check engine light was blinking (it was previously on but when it's blinking that's when you should worry) and they charged me 90$ just to hook it up to the computer and told me it would cost 550$ to fix. Looked at it myself a couple days later and it was a spark plug which is a 4$ fix. They don't know what they're doing they just want as much money as possible. And the worst part is the 550$ "fix" they wanted to do wouldn't have changed a thing.

I have been here a whole bunch. I normally expect the usual no employees anywhere to save money but this was just annoying. A nice young lady was helping at checkout but there was clearly a miss labeling of product but even though the picture and description was clearly for another product they insisted they only got by the product number. Product quality at Canadian Tire is generally low. A few examples: 1) I bought a bicycle, but the chain broke apart within 4 months; 2) I bought a travel adapter, but Best Buy had way better quality for the same price; 3) I bought this "durable" (as advertised) frying pan, but after half a year, it started to get sticky; and after 1 year (I used it for no more than 20 times in the entire year), it's totally un-usable. I called in to seek for a solution (I always use nice and friendly tone), but a man spoke with an arrogant and rude tone. I still said "thank you" at the end while he hang up without saying anything. I will never shop here again, nor will my family.

Always great sales, and one good thing is, if a particular sale item runs out of stock while still on sale, unless listed as "while supplies last" or "limited quantities available", you can usually get a raincheck on the sale price once the iten is back in stock!

I’ve shopped here for years with out issue, but this weekend I had a horrible experience with an employee trying to push a credit card on me in an extremely predatory way. I rarely write reviews, but this was so uncomfortable that I felt compelled to share my experience and help others avoid something similar happening. Said employee walked up to me as I was looking at something and tried to make small talk about the item. As he wasn’t wearing a name tag or holding a clip board identifying him as an employee it wasn’t immediately clear that he was working there. Soon he shifted to start asking about the items in my cart and how much they cost all together which indicated to me he had some kind of sale motivation. I blatantly asked “are you trying to sell me on a credit card?” and he insisted that he wasn’t. He kept skirting around what he was trying to offer saying he was “trying to get me a discount” making it seem like a store membership. I asked if it was a a membership and he said no. This kept going around in circles with him constantly being vague about what exactly he was trying to push. When I said no and began to walk away he finally said “it’s like a MasterCard”. I said no, multiple times but he would not leave me alone. Finally the only way I was able to end the interaction was putting my hand up and firmly asking him to stop. This was by far one of the most uncomfortable and pushy sales experiences of my life and I was disgusted how I was blatantly lied to. Likely won’t be coming back and advising others not to as well as I find this behaviour unacceptable.

There's always pallets and boxes of stock piled in the automotive accessory isles/in the back corner. I'm not sure if they can't get staff to stock or if they don't have the space for it all. Also, this store only has self checkouts. They don't have any staffed tills. For the (non-sale) prices Canadian Tire charges, I expect someone to ring up and bag my purchases for me. That's the bare minimum of customer service.

Very bad customer service, bought new tires online and then requested for a callback to check when they have a free appointment to change my new tires, that I got at their store, after 2 days never heard from them. ----------------- Pat II So, this is today Jan 10th, so, they never called me back, like Amanda would say, however, las week I called myself, and booked an appointment for Friday 7th, I was unable to make it, I called to re-schedule, and I was told that they had no appointment on their records for me. I requested then a new one, they were able to accommodate today Jan 10th. I arrived today on time, and guess what? My name was not anywhere to find, after almos being treated like a lier, someone came to my rescue and found, apparently my appointment. The rest, well, no point to even talk about, despite I had already bought my tires online, and I was supposed to pay just the installation cost, I ended up paying the same amount I paid for the new tires, on another ''things/upsells' that better not to mention here, and when I tried not purchase what they wanted me to buy, then there were no hesitance whatsoever to tell me: cancel your online order and go somewhere else.!!!!!! No more comments.

Zero customer service. They also don't follow even their own policies. All the products are extremely poor quality and sourced using slave labour too. Should be a crime to use Canada's name on this store's brand.

Good luck if you have to take something back because it's broken. We returned a camping table because it would not clip into place. The manager couldn't understand why we wanted to return it. We would of gladly taken an exchange, in fact that's what we wanted, but they could not find the one they had in the store. Then he tried to tell us he couldn't return the money because thier receipt they gave us didn't print out the Visa numbers clearly. So they wanted to give us a gift card. We didn't want that because we wanted the money back to buy another table elsewhere. We had to threaten to call head office. The manager was rude and said give her cash to get her out of here.

Long time customer of the store, purchased a kids bike and the bearings in the pedal mechanism fell out. Bike is 3.5 months old. I didn't have my receipt and was told that they can't warranty it. I asked if they can look up the receipt in their system, I was told they couldn't. I asked if they could look it us using the rewards system, they said no. I left with the bike, instead of paying to have the bike repaired I went to wal-mart and purchased a new bike for my 5 year old. Decided to call corporate customer relations for Canadian Tire and ask the same questions and was told different answers. They said that the receipts can be looked up if I had paid debit, credit and or used rewards within 12 months which I did. Called back to the local Canadian Tire and they do some backtracking saying that it was just the individual store policy to look up the receipts or not. They then asked if I wanted the bike repaired and I said no, refund or store credit, they said no. Bike was not needed after buying a new one elsewhere. It only takes the one bad service experience to loose a customer.

Took by out of province car into have a PEI vehicle inspection and was told it needed $2700.00 in repairs, after having the car checked from bumper to Bumper 2 month ago in B.C. Said my tires had dry rot and multiple suspension parts needed to be replaced. Took it to a second shop in Alberton and only needed 2 suspension parts replaced , ended up buying 4 new winter tires as well and saved over $1700.00 in unneeded repairs. Will never take my car to Canadian tire for repairs again!

When I arrived to the store today there were 2 individuals standing at the entrance waiting to go in and another man approaching the entrance going in across from me, a member of the Canadian Tire staff (who might have been the owner of the store as he was not wearing the Canadian Tire uniform) was at the entrance guiding the line and letting people in as space became available due to capacity limits for retail stores in Ontario. The staff member told the man across from me that the two individuals waiting by the entrance were waiting to enter Marks Work Warehouse so if you were going into Canadian tire you were good to go in. I was behind the staff member so I’m not sure if he knew I heard him give the go ahead to enter the store if you weren’t going into Mark’s Work Warehouse. The staff member yelled at me as I walked in the entrance and proceeded to tell me I was inconsiderate among other things in front of the two individuals waiting in the Mark’s line, after I apologized and let him know that I was entering Canadian Tire not Marks Work Warehouse he called me inconsiderate for what I had did for the second time. From there I turned around and left the store. I wish I had a chance to say I was sorry to the two individuals waiting in the Marks line before I had left because I do not mind waiting in a line during these pressing times with capacity limits in stores, I am completely understanding of that, but I ended up going to my vehicle and crying in the parking lot for 15 minutes before I could continue home. I left feeling completely belittled. Perhaps I could have clarified with the staff member that it was okay that I went in as well, but I’m super frustrated with the customer service, I believe the situation could have been handled in a better and more respectful way. If I could give -10 stars I would.

Bought an air fryer and was disgusted to discover that it was not only used but *hadn't even been cleaned* and still had bits of food in it. When I tried to return it the manager got accusatory, blaming me for the food in the fryer (I only had it for 14 hours) and tried to deny me my refund like I have some kind of elaborate Canadian Tire scam going on. Unbelievably short-sighted customer service, and obviously they are putting returned items back o. The shelves without inspecting them. Lost me for life.

To which I need to pay 1500 dollars to fix that now, plus the wheel allignment is still not done properly. So, my car was not worth spending this much money on. Today at 1740 I had to go to Canadian Tire to pick up new paint. I had just made it in time because they were closing at 1800. Fortunately I went to the Canadian Tire in Fort Frances, rather than to Menards since i received wonderful, prompt service and they did not even mind that i came late (lots of stores employees would give remarks showing up that close to closing time). I was helped by a very knowledgeable employee (I believe his name was Jordan, he used to work in automotive I believe) He helped me find the perfect paint and it was even on sale! 10/10 would go back again.

Honestly one of the best Canadian tires I’ve ever been too. I use to go to the market crossing one but due to their being more of a firearms and hunting section at bentall location I started going here. First off joe from the hunting sectional is a phenomenal character and well versed and knowledgeable on almost all firearms and goods! His passionate level of service has kept me coming back to browse and shop there for the past year! The sporting good section has an amazing selection and mostly well stocked in what ever you need! He helped me pick out a required firearm and even introduced me to local areas and groups. My second Major deciding factor or point is the Automotive service section. I had the fortunate luck to notice a problem before a long trip at this location and after being looked at by a third party in the parking lot I rushed into Canadian tire to see if it was service able that weekend! That’s where I talked to bill! If you have a chance I highly recommend talking through bill, he was so calm and intelligent on the matters. even while waiting in line to talk to him he was able to deal with and successfully handle a very insistent customer. Never even breaking his calm and collected demeanour! I highly recommend this store and their personal!

No return, Even though its NEW > Once you plug it in CanTire has decided it is USED and you have to deal with warranty. Not to mention Very RUDE cashiers. I won't go back. Don’t ever come here for auto servicing! It is far too expensive compared to literally ANY other shop in town. Everyone was so helpful. A gentleman from seasonal brought our gas bag in its BIG HEAVY BOX to the cash. another young man helped put it in the the cab. The cashier mentioned about the refill program regarding the gas tank so we purchased on of those too. I never saw the tanks and forgot to ask, so I'm so glad she mentioned it. She should get a bonus for that sale.!! tee her hahaha. Well she should, but dont be starting to pay them on commission only. That wouldn't be very nice.

Terrific service. Organized. Pickup of online orders is superb. The bathrooms are always clea. Overall the store is well stocked, inventory is true and customer service is great when you need it. I tend to know the item and location when I arrive so I can't comment on assistance with shopping. the only option for checkout is self checkout but they have 2 or 3 staff there and often will just ring you through to be helpful. This and the North Van store are my go-to for many items ... as large as my kayak and as silly as my lawn ornaments[love that selection!!]. Thanks to all who work here...great job :)

The wife wanted to shop and support local and brick and mortar businesses as opposed to always using Amazon. We ordered items for curbside from this specific Canadian Tire but when we showed up there were 2 cars that were empty parked in these spots. So we still had to go inside to grab our items. Very pointless and completely unacceptable to allow your own employees to block the curbside pickup spots. With service like this Amazon will be taking your lunch money every day of the week and twice on Fridays. UPDATE: October 31st, 2021: I haven't been to the Bentall Complex in about 3 months now, but as I drove up and parked my vehicle I noticed a car that was familiar, which was the same Mercedes-Benz parked in one of the curbside pick up spots, but this time he was only parked in front of one of the bay doors. @CT Grandview Team this guy either loves parking terribly in this complex or he is one of your mechanics. If you had told me that you had spoken to the individual about parking in the curbside pickup spots I would have accepted your apology. UPDATE: November 13, 2021: Just posting another picture of this same car at this Canadian Tire Location. Obviously, this person is parked approximately this time, but the fact that I keep seeing this exact same car with the same license plate tells me that he works at Canadian Tire.

Called to see if I could get a tire repair done today. Tire is leaking air as it has a nail in it. Service manager was at lunch. Was told shouldn't be a problem as we have two tech's and nobody booked for either at 4:00pm. No problem I called back at the suggested time and boom...can't get you in cause we are booked solid. I explain the situation and the response I got wasn't close to what I should have heard from a service manager representing a retail business. At any rate I have no other choice but to now wait until Monday. I gave one star as this review system won't allow me to post with zero stars!

My first tire change experience in CT would like to be shared with you. I decided to choose CT's product and service because of a friend's recommendation. So I have placed a tire purchase order for a set of 4 new tires on Tuesday. At that time, the online CT system showed that the tires which I want were enough in stock. Then I have waited for 2 days to get a confirmation email from CT so that I can book an automotive service to get my car's tires changed. However, on Thursday, I got a call from CT to let me know only 3 tires are available now. And they suggested me contact other locations for help. Because they can do nothing currently. They also cancelled my order at this store. Meanwhile, it also takes several days to wait for the refund transaction to my credit card, as soon as Saturday morning. I do not have enough money to place another order simultaneously so it brings lots of frustration to me, and I cannot do anything but wait. It means nothing will be changed in 5 days for me. If I lived in a village with a slow-paced life, it would not matter to me. But 5 days make a big difference for people living in Metro Vancouver. As one of the most trusted domestic companies in Canada, CT's operation and management made me taken several days to go back to the starting point again after a series of setbacks. Instead of rigidly refuse my purchase due to being out of stock, you might not have to cancel the order if there is an alternative solution to get resupply from HQ or other locations. I do not know the reason why each CT location is so independent. As far as I know, the big data cloud could provide lots of significant information for big companies. Summer and winter are the key moments for vehicle users because climate and weather can influence automotive performance dramatically. And I have noticed that many brands of tires have been sold out at this moment attributing to large demand probably. If CT could use big data technology to ordinate the product supply and relevant service, the efficiency would be upgraded to a large extent. Cheer up.

This store has everything you would expect at a Canadian Tire! They’re decor and seasonal items are always top quality. Don’t normally shop at Marks Work warehouse but we got some good quality compression pants. This Cdn Tire in Port Hawksbury was the only one around that had the food dehydrator that was on sale. It showed online the store had 5 so I hopped in the car and drove an hour to get there. There were none on the shelf so I asked and the woman looked it up and said she would get me one from the stock room. While I waited for her to return I was asked 3 times by different staff members if I needed help with something. I have never been in a Cdn Tire with such attentive staff members. Well done!!

Refused to return 20$ deposit for battery I bought last year... they found my purchase on their database but insisted a receipt was necessary as evidence of purchase. Staff were friendly and helpful. Automotive guys solid and knowledgeable. Manager unhelpful and unapologetic. After spending a lot of money over the years at this store, I would have been happy if management made any effort in troubleshooting with me; rationalizing their position; or were even a little apologetic. I will make every effort to take my business elsewhere in the future.

So I select these alloy wheels for my Honda Accord and they ordered it for me. Yesterday I had my appointment to get them fit on my car. When I went at Canadian tire yesterday all of sudden they said these alloys are not fitting to your car which was ordered by them after taking all the information regarding my car. So the service department lady said you have to order new ones which will take 2 weeks and then they will have to book another appointment for me which takes forever or we have steel rims which I never wanted. Not only this the lady was not even accepting that its their mistake for not ordering the product I want , she told me this way that I am gonna save more money. In the end I had to compromise after waiting more than a month because I had no other option.

A certain employee of this store can definitely use some customer service training. My wife and I visited the store today and bought two folding tables. We picked up two tables from two large stacks on the rack. A large tag with a description matching the tables showed a sale price. The tables were on the lowest rung of the rack and the tag was below the tables; thus, it could not have been for another product. At checkout, we were helped by a very pleasant employee in training (as it said on her name tag) named Aisha (I believe that was her name). She rung up the tables and when paying I noticed they were at full price. I paid anyway and asked her to double check the price of the tables as they were listed on sale by the tag. I also told her (and I emphasized) that if the tag was a mistake, it is fine, I will still take the tables. I just want to pay the correct price. Aisha told me the price that came up on the scan is usually the correct one. She called over one of her colleagues for assistance to double check as I assumed she was still inexperienced. The colleague - a shorter girl with glasses, short dark/black hair, and a bad attitude - came over and said, "Let me see your receipt." I was struck by the tone of her voice as it was certainly not customer friendly. After she took my receipt, the colleague simply came back and said in the same tone, "We have no record of that table being at that price." The entire time she stared at my wife and me like we were criminals trying to swindle a discount. My wife told her it's fine, but we would like to notify them then to move the tag as it is confusing and can mislead other customers. The colleague responded, "Customers put products back in the wrong place all the time." She was insinuating that other customers placed the tables mistakenly on top of the discount tag. I then responded that it cannot be because two LARGE stacks were there on top of the tag. The colleague didn't say a word. She just gave us the same stare and walked away, again, acting like we were trying to cheat the store. Aisha apologized for the inconvenience and thanked us for coming in and wished us a great day. If it wasn't for Aisha, I would give this review zero stars. I really hope the colleague gets additional training because customers should not be left feeling the way we did. I would hesitate to recommend this store to my friends and family.

Went there to purchase a Dyson that was on sale in the flyer. We did comparison with what was on the shelf and made our decision but, there were none on the shelf. In fact, there was a sign saying find an associate to assist with any of the Dysons. We found an associate and asked for help. She replied not looking at us "Just a minute.". When she turned with her price gun in hand we had taken a photo of the sku and showed her. She typed it in and then said " Are there none on the shelf?". We told her there weren't. She responds "Well....I'll have to go upstairs.". She yells across the store to someone saying how she has to go upstairs for a vacuum for a customer. Her tone was rude. We felt as though she was terribly inconvenienced having to help us. I get it. Maybe it wasn't her section. Maybe she was busy. She could have handled it much better. She chose not to. We chose to purchase our Dyson from East Coast Furnishings instead.

PEI Travellers were very pleased with the pleasant, exceedingly efficient and timely service provided by automotive staff for repairs to 2010 Toyota alternator. The car broke down in Baddeck and had to be trucked to your shop for repairs. We were disappointed with the lack of rental cars in the area – it may have been due to COVID-19?? We got to spend an extra day in beautiful Nova Scotia and were elated to receive the phone call that the repairs were completed – sooner than expected on our part. We had our car towed there because we were in an accident. We left by rental vehicle to our destination to come back at the end of the weekend to pick up the car and it was supposed to be repaired and ready for us to drive back home. When we came to pick it up nothing was done to it and they didnt even order the parts yet! The parts took over a week for them once they finally ordered it. So we had to carry on with our trip back home to NB with a rental vehicle which cost over $1500. When trying to pay for my work done from NB they would not accept credit card, bank transfers or cheques. We went and got a money order. John the owner didnt even know what that was! Then he was a real piece of work Rude, Yelling and Verbally Assaulting because we sent in a money order...I guess he wanted a certified cheque and didn't know what a money order looked like, Both are guaranteed funds. So after all his psychological mentally unstable attitude we find out that he wont release the car to the towing company even after the parts and service manager spoke to us and got our approval to release it. He is then telling us that we need to fax him authority to release it, that emails aren't accepted and hand written note scanned and sent to him is not accepted and that it HAS to be Faxed. As soon as he got on the phone he yells, telling me that my car has been a problem. This guy has NO customer service skills and when asked if he speaks to all his customers like this he admits and says YES, I DO! The rudest, mentally unstable man I have ever spoken too! If they had done the repair when we dropped it off as they said they were going to and completed the work on time we would not have had to spend $1500 on a rental $800 on towing to Kenora for auto shipping and $2000 to have it shipped back to us. Totaling $4300.00 expense to us because their work was NOT DONE! Instead we would have just driven our vehicle home fixed. All it needed was a wheel bearing!!!! Unbelievable!!!

Nice store, not too small or too big. Fairly complete and we'll stocked. Easy to locate and to get in and out of. This location also fills propane, including being able to fill tanks that are not remove able from big rigs. A little snug getting around the fill station if folks have parked near it but very doable. Very friendly and helpful staff as well. The one thing I wish is that they would set up a service to deliver large items, like a shed. I know we are an hour away but that kind of service means a lot to us and we would be willing to pay a reasonable fee for it. I highly recommend this store.

The other day I came in to pick out a bookshelf that I was told by another location would be in stock here. As I walked in, I asked the first person I saw and they completely brushed me off and said that they were out of stock. Didn’t even bother checking; a complete joke. I went to customer service to ask for assistance but the lineup was ridiculous. I was just about to leave before I was approached by a worker asking if I needed any assistance. I explained to her my situation, and she did not hesitate to run to the back to double-check if my bookshelf was in stock. Did not take long to see her running down the aisle with a cart with my bookshelf in it. She mentioned how there were a few more in stock in different colours, and ended up selling me on those as well. I was also interested in getting a matching TV stand, and she made sure to assist me before helping the other customers. I read her name tag and noticed she was a trainee, yet she delivered exceptional service. Julie, if it wasn’t for you, I would have easily rated a 1/5.

Purchased a replacement battery, for Mazda 3 2008 GT 2.3L Auto, their computers gave me the wrong battery. Advised I had to add a 2x4 piece of WOOD as the battery was too small, they blamed me stating I was wrong and the computer is correct, even showed them the original battery core was different. They advised there was nothing they could do, as the computer is correct. I have no modifications to my vehicle and they were unwilling to help me further. Forced to go there to buy small things because of the small town, and it's always a bother to get assistance, or they lie that they don't carry something, even though I just found it on there large computer in the front of the store..called them out...then they circled back and said it must be Out of Stock. Asked if I could order it, and said no.....i'm always pleasant to the cashiers even though the part people didn't know about my battery.....still bad customer service as well.

We have always had fantastic service at this store. Recently bought tires and had them installed. The young clerk in the evening was very friendly and the installation was good. The re-torque was quick with drive up service. There is a very good selection of products in the store for a city the size of Summerside. We also just purchased Christmas decorations and staff were very helpful. The front cash staff are very pleasant, although the cashes themselves could use an upgrade (narrow and limited space). I phoned looking for a certain snow blower that the inventory said only one was in stock, the guy put me on hold to go look and came back and said he couldn’t find it in store that he would look outside and put me on hold again, which I didn’t mind, then a different guy answered and he sounded annoyed, I said I was on hold while a guy looked outside and a few seconds later it hung up on me and I would bet money that it was the annoyed guy who done it. Hire better and honest workers!
