You will be able to see all the feddbacks of real people like you who purchase the products of Signal Hill National Historic Site (Zoo) near Ferryland (Canada).
At this moment this firm has a rating of 4.8 out of 5 and that score has been calculated on 127 reviews.
As you can see the average of ratings is practically the best one, and it's based on a high number of feddbacks, so we can think that the score is quite faithful. If many people have bothered to value when they've done well with the service, is that it works.
As you know, we do not usually stop to set evaluations when they are positive and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or incidence...
This Zoo is included in the category of Historical landmark.
Beautiful views and nice hiking trails to explore. Plenty to read for people interested in the history of the place. Really worth it to check out if you've got a chance. Great experience.
First time in a long time . Visit in the evening looking at all the lights beautyfull
Spectacular view of downtown St.Johns and Atlantic ocean.
Pretty epic hike.
Pretty neat place to visit while in St John's .. tip: bring running shoes so u can experience the amazing trails
Good hike that rewards you with a great view!
Amazing view. A must visit location if you are on the Avalon peninsula of Newfoundland.
Love it, a must see spot if you ever visit st John's. Looks of walking trails and it so close to downtown.
Great day, amazing views of the harbor and the ocean. Can't believe it's free of charge but hey, that's Newfoundland for ya.
Just a few miles (or kilometers, since we are in Canada ☺) outside of St. Johns, there is this beautiful and strategically perfect placed site with all its old cannons an a breathtaking 360° view. It absolutely is worth the mostly windy walk uphill, since after the visit, you may warm up yourself in one of the wonderfull pubs in town.
Provides one of the best overview of the city as well as the ocean. Love it
Such a great spot with a beautiful lookout. I will have to come back in nicer weather to do the full walk.
I enjoyed the hiking and views are wow!!
Great views overlooking St.John’s and the Atlantic Ocean, may even see a few whales!
I think this place is amazing I peddle biked the whole way I always procrastinated do you while you can we have the most beautiful home in the world
Views from the top are awesome and well worth the climb. Two ways to go up. I recommend taking a cab to go up by road and then getting back down by walkway along the cliff. Breathtaking!
Loved the place. Nice view to whole of St. John's and the big vast sea.
Really awesome trails along the coast. Great view of the harbor.
An incredible landmark. Breathtaking scenery in all directions. Can't wait to go back.
Very interesting and beautiful visit. Great views of the St.John dock, and city. I had to make multiple trips to see the views - it was too foggy the first two times. It's also the perfect sunset/sunrise spot in the area - the parking lot gets filled quickly on nice days. If you're lucky you can watch the ocean fog roll in and cover the city and Signal Hill. Really wish I took a timelapse of this! Also it can get SUPER windy, make sure you check the weather and dress appropriately before venturing out.

Amazing view.
Great Historic Site
Signal hill is a must place to visit if you are in St John's. A quick ride through the city taking you on top of the hill. The views of the blue Atlantic waters on one side and the city on the other side makes this place a nice attraction. You can walk around or take the hiking trails.
Very historic and informative great views places to sit very windy
Though it was rainy. Cloudy. Crowded. Cold. Windy. When I went. — I still had a lot of fun! Took the most trekked and most difficult north route, and it was a lot of fun.
Absolutely amazing! That's it. Just absolutely amazing.
A must. I haven't been since they put up the wall/barrier, hopefully it doesn't obstruct the view. Pictures taken before the barrier. Came here shortly after sunrise, definitely worth getting up early for this one.
Beautiful view. Must visit this place if u are wisiting Newfoundland. Sea on one side and city on other side.
Good place to take a hike
Wow! What a view of St. John's! On a nice day you can see all the way to Cape Spear. Bring your tripod for evening shots.
Beautiful destination with amazing history. Beyond being a fort where soldiers were in guard to protect, it was the spot where the first wireless signal was sent over the Atlantic.
Great trip. Beautiful, peaceful park in Newfoundland. Sat on a rock, by the water, in the sun for hours.
If you are looking for a point to have good views of St. John's NL from the top, look nowhere Signal Hill is the place. Have lots of things to have fun with. I can't stop going to this wonderful place anytime I have a chance to.
Beautiful view of the Ocean - Had the opportunity to watch the sun rise. Free parking at the top of the hill, or if you're up for the walk it is a rewarding experience. Many trails to follow along the Site as well. I made the trip up to the top multiple times during my stay in St John's.
Amazing place ! A must for anyone in the area !
Beautiful scenery and nice little hike. The trail around Signal Hill is quite steep in places and has plenty of steps. There are sections where you are on the edge of a straight drop with a chain to hold on to. But the views are amazing! If you are up to a bit of a hike it is well worth it. At the top there is some wonderful history as well, to go with the views.
Great place with amazing view. Nice walk.
Great view from the top. Has a nice trail to walk along as well
Historical site in Newfoundland with lots of hiking trails branching off. Scenic coastal views along with views of Saint John
Breathtaking beauty...
Well worth the hike just for the views. Lots of history and some good little hikes around the place too.
Great spot and definitely not to miss on a sunny day
Beautiful view of the harbour and signal hill, suggest driving up to the top rather than walking, then spending the energy walking the trails. Building is very small, if the line is long, your not missing much but not going in, but good to see either way. Coffee shop here is great.
Historic location. Busy. A MUST see! Go here!
So nice for full view of the ocean from a side and town from the other
Beautiful place!
Great place to be in summer is the best, and for winter watch out for the wind.
One of my favourite places on earth. Gorgeous views of the north Atlantic ocean. A land full of history. Truly a hidden gem of Canada!
Beautiful sights of the coast lines of Newfoundland. This place also has a lot of history as being the first wireless call was made!
Amazing place to let the cobwebs blow off ya!
Must go when you are in St.John's, NL. Historical site is a nice hike uphill from downtown George Street. There are also some trails if you feel adventurous. Depending on the weather the views are stunning. Sometimes there's a demonstration of the cannon.
Beautiful scenery any time of day or weather
Spectacular view when it's not foggy...great hiking trails
Amazing place. Worth the visit whether the weather is nice or harsh.
Great place to see the city. Enjoy ice cream. Coffee. In nice weather, the trail is a great walk or run too
Beautiful views, lovely trails. Make sure you visit the interpretation centre part way up the hill. Be prepared for high wind!
Take your time here and be sure to wear windproof clothes to stay comfortable because there can be strong winds.
Being from Alberta ,1st time seeing signal hill was an amazing awesome experience ,people friendly ,I loved it ????❤
Great trails to walk around if you have hours to waste, and the view at the top is out of this world
This place has a beautiful views and some nice hikes that I wasn't able to go on because it was cold.
Lucky for me it wasnt busy. Drove up to the top and found a parking spot. There are trails that lead up and around the hill. Make sure you bring some water and wear good walking shoes! Be careful when you're on the paths there isn't any railing on some parts so stick to the trail and don't wander off. If the drop doesnt get you the ocean will! It was the only clear day (April) to take some good pics, this place must look fantastic in the summer! Even in April, I thought it was great. There are some other attractions coming up the hill. They weren't open while I was there, but they could be soon. I did see the Cape Spear lighthouse from there and when you go the Cape Spear you can see the tower, very cool!
Great views from the tower...
Fascinating look back on the history of this site and a moderate hike if you so choose to the top. We chose and enjoyed the views on the way up!
We ran up here one morning, the hols are a great workout and the view is jaw dropping. Beautiful museum and center at base with a spot to grab coffee. We ran up the hill and across to Quidi Vidi, checked out the baby bald eagle, and enjoyed AL the nature. You would never guess this was only two miles from the city enter.
Very picturesque place. The view was amazing!
Family favorite! We come here at east once a year. Always a beautiful, historic and scenic place to visit. Snap a selfie near the Historic Cabot Tower, or overlooking the Atlantic. Great views of St. John's, as well as the narrows of the St. John's harbor. If you are up for a physical challenge, bring your running shoes and and tackle the Signal hill trail. Be sure to hydrate!
Depending on how much time you have, it's worth it just to drive up to the top, instead of walking up the hill. There are plenty of walking trails that offer amazing views, your time could be better served up there. Also, when people say it's windy, they're not lying. At all. Hair elastics, and hats that don't blow off are good to bring. Maybe earplugs, if your ears get sensitive with wind.
Beautiful view and cargo ships in out way.
One of my favorite landmarks here for sure.
Great view! Nice gift shop. We bought Partridge berry jam. ????
Another beautiful historic site in the heart of st johns.a need to visit if ever in st john's nfld.
Go when its nice clear skies and revisit when its foggy. Awesome walking trails.
A must visit place on your list if you are near St.John's. The vistas are amazing. Depending on the time of year you can see icebergs and whales. You also can see the Cape Spear Lighthouse. Stunning photo opportunity.
Beautiful scenic views. So much culture.
Signal Hill is a beautiful location with interesting hiking trails overlooking the ocean and St John's. Definitely one of the things you should do when you visit St John's. Very close to downtown, plenty of parking available, and there's a fascinating underground Geo Centre attraction nearby as well.
Beautiful location, beautiful views of St.Johns and the narrows. There's a gift shop as well. Last time I was there you could go up in the tower which was neat, but this time it was closed, likely from Covid. Nice long walking paths too that go right up to the ocean.
Very nice place. Had a lot of fun.
Some slight mix up at the gift shop but it was all taken care of. Lovely view and parking at the top, no need to walk up. Path down by water can be a bit much, bring a water and go when it is clear and not windy
A very historically significant landmark. The landscape and cityscape worth the visit.
Such a neat experience to go see, highly recommend, but beware of windy days.
Breathtaking in every single way! Such a great walk and so beautiful. A must see if in St. John’s. All trails are suitable for all ages. It’s almost always windy so it’s a great idea to tie your hair and wear good shoes. Bring you camera fully charged because you won’t want to miss any of it!
Absolutely wonderful views, great hike but make sure you are ready for going up a few stairs if you start the hike from the battery.
There is a wealth of history behind this spot but its not just a pretty building: the backdrop and the somewhat hidden hiking trails make this a must-do experience for those traveling to St. John’s NL. Dress for the weather so that you can take in the hikes. Or stop in the gift shop if you’re not able to hike the paths. The historical component behind the structures is also quite interesting.
Breathtaking. A photographer's dream. Be sure to visit the Battery too
Some of the greatest views this world has to offer. I suggest doing the hike around the base of signal Hill
Must see if you visit st. John's. The climb can be exhaustive for some, but the view from the top makes it all worthwhile.
Signal Hill is a MUST VISIT! It was worth my time to visit this National Historic Site. It's situated on top of the hill and it's the first to receive a Transatlantic Transmission Signal. I also like the fact that it feels like on top of the world when you can over look the harbour and the St. John's downtown from here. The left side of the hill over look the Atlantic Ocean and on the day I was there, I could see the fog and the turqoise ocean water. On right it's the harbour of St. John's. The Cabot Tower is not open in the winter, but the ancient building is in good condition and is well-maintained. It's always windy up here so try not to wear any loosely hat, a tonque maybe fine. But this is a so relaxing and what a view! There are good amount of free parking up here. You either get a cab or driver yourself up here. If you are lucky, you may see a big nice dog hanging out here on Signal Hill.
Can't visit St. John's without a stop here. Beautiful scenery on the edge of the continent. Lots of history to explore here. Great trails as well!
Great view of the city. Several trails in the area. Popular spot for photographers, especially of foxes in the early morning. Usually windy. Lots of story boards explaining the history of the harbour and Cabot Tower, which is on top of Signal Hill.
Lovely photo ops VERY windy ????
Windy but great views
Signal Hill is my favourite place in St. John's! I love to hike up there every time I visit. I usually go up the Battery Road way. There are 17 staircases altogether and the last two are tough, but it's so worth it when you get to the top. Breath-taking views of the city, harbour, and ocean. In August, be sure to stop and pick some wild blueberries along the way. Please "like" this review if you found it helpful!
Easy to find, great little gift shop, easy to difficult trails, lots of info signs, beautiful views, amazing geography, and a must see. The stairs in the tower aren't very wide in some places and the wells can be a little narrow but worth the climb for the viewing platform in the tower. Multiple banners are stored in the top of the tower behind clear partitions but there's no info on why or what they were used for. Still, very nice place historically and well taken care of.
A must see historical site. Get up early and watch the sun rise.
Such a scenic beauty- Wow
Extremely well maintained and stunning landscape with amazing veiws. It was a wonderful climb down the cliff to the north head, mostly by stairs (10-15min walking speed from the tower). At the north head we saw humback whales and lots of sea birds, as well as some people picking wild blueberries. We didn't expect to be down there for long so we didn't take water-- which was a mistake.
Here the blue ocean comes to see its beautiful bride the queen of islands, New Found Land. The wind murmurs all the day and night, tells the saga of this blue planet. The place needs a washroom.
Great place with views of ocean and city, lots of paths, lots of informative signs, and very well maintained.
Did the trail all around Signall Hill. It took us about 2 hours walking. Astonishing views!
Breathtaking views. A real must see!
Signal Hill is a historic site with breathtaking views and plenty of walking trails. Do be sure to make a stop in the souvenir shop and take the narrow stairs all the way to the top observation area. Parents be sure to keep your children close as there are steep cliffs and low safety walls. This is well worth the drive, or hike, up the hill.
We went up and visited on a foggy day and it didn't dampen our spirits we still loved it. Make sure you wear your hiking boots no matter what type of day it is though.
Fantastic views good walks and lots to see
Went and had fun. There's also the geological center nearby that's absolutely worth visiting
Best trail ever. Don't miss it if you go. Make sure you have water and good shoes. Takes 1-1½ hours.
Relaxing place, great view. Close from the city.
Very scenic, interesting site. You can walk all the way up but the drive up is beautiful as well. Many features to experience here and learn about the "signal" process they used/invented back in the day. Definitely worth a visit if you're visiting St John's.....
Recently came here on a hike. Such a beautiful place to hike around and take photos. Lots of different terrains. Highly recommended!
Always a beautiful place to catch sunrises and sunsets. And the view of the city is amazing.
If you are looking for a point to have good views of St. John's NL from the top, look nowhere Signal Hill is the place. Have lots of things to have fun with. I can't stop going to this wonderful place anytime I have a chance to.
Great place to park and look over St. John’s. Got a nice trail too.
Skip the Geo center but great views and hiking from Signal Hill.
Stunning picture perfect views. I love St John's... the history, the people, the food, and even the wind. I had an amazing day with a private tour thanks to John at PC!!
Signal Hill is amazing, both in the incredible view, and the very interesting historical significance. You can take the official tour, where you learn all about the place where the first ever trans-Atlantic telephone signal was received. Visit the tower gift shop for some nice souvenirs for the folks back home. You can climb the stairs all the way to the top for an even more expansive view of the North Atlantic. Down at ground level is a bit of whimsy in the form of signs pointing in the direction of England, France, Spain, Portugal (and, of course, Ireland from which most Newfoundlanders proudly hail), complete with the distance to each location. And don't miss the Signal Hill Military Tattoo, where you can watch a realistic reenactment of British Soldiers performing a choreographed drill, complete with rifle shots and a cannon being fired. The British and French clashed many times in the early history of European occupied Newfoundland around the 1700's with the Brits prevailing. Finally, Signal Hill has a bounty of berries one can pick to their heart's delight. Blueberries appear in early August, followed by Partridge Berries, Bakeapples (also known as Cloud Berries), and last, but not least, wild Cranberries. You can take a hike down the rugged path leading down to the ocean cliffs. Be extremely cautious, however, as more than a few people (and pets) have gone over the rocky cliffs' edge. Children, in particular, must be carefully supervised, as do dogs. Signal Hill is beloved by tourists and locals alike. It is a simply stunning location that has a rich history. If you're planning a trip to Newfoundland, be sure to set aside enough time to enjoy all that glorious scenery while you learn about the provinces' rich history.
One of the best places to visit in Newfoundland. Scenic Beauty everywhere
Always a spot to visit when you are in St.John's. Loads of history. I love the signs that say how many kms/miles places are and where the titanic sank from Signal Hill. The kids love it here. It's a must see.
Came here during a cloudy morning ????. Definitely was an worthwhile trip
We drive up in the evening to watch the sunset. It was a beautiful ☀️ sunset. You could as far as cape spear the most easterly point in North American. The Hiking trails will take you all around the edge of the hill. The terrain is rough and steep. Signal Hill is the top spot for whale watching Ocean lookout and more
Arguably one of the most beautiful views in all of St. John’s, with an almost 400 year history. There is a lot to learn. The photos and guided walk through are amazing.
We hiked up though it is also accessible by car or bus. If you are able to do the somewhat challenging hike I highly recommend it as there are some great views of the ocean and harbour. The weather can change quickly so be prepared. A must see for any trip to St. John's!
It is 2 different experiences. The hike up North Head Trail has great views and a moderate challenge. The drive up in a vehicle is ....a drive in town ...and nothing memorable.
What a bright, mild day to visit Signal Hill to see eternity in the horizon and back again ???? oh what joy!
Gorgeous 360-degree views of the city and surrounding coastline. A must-see if you're visiting the city. Film at the visitors center was entertaining and informative.
Impressive view of St-Johns Bay area. The Battery trek (North head trek) is a must. Beautiful!
Incredible view! An absolute must see for everyone
We visited here last May during our 3 month long vacation tour of wonderful Canada. What a day! Started off with a fantastic breakfast prepared by Eileen at the Banberry House B&B were were staying at. We shared with new friends from Montreal. Vancouver, Toronto and St. Andrews. We drove to Signal Hill, where we met Roy who recently retired and moved here from Ontario. This place has the full of history here from 1700s to now. German Uboats, defensive guns, etc. Icebergs around. To the distance is Cape Spear, the most eastern point in North America. We saw underground barracks. It was blustery cold and windy this morning. The air is crisp and quite refreshing. You may think me nuts but I thrive on cooler weather than hot weather. Kindly click the like button if this review or my photos are useful.
Great historical site. There are great trails in the area. Wonderful views of St John's and the Alantic Ocean. It is a great place to take night pictures of the city as well. There is a lot of history in this area to learn about and explore. This site is located at the entrance to St John's harbor so you can see boats and ship's coming and going through the narrow canal.
The most historic tourist attraction in St. John's, Newfoundland. You will find yourself doing this hike multiple times when you visit. Whether you walk it bottom to top or top to bottom, it provides breathtaking views of the ocean, harbor and city...
The views are stunning! The trail is challenging with more incredible views along the way!
You ever find yourself in St. John’s Newfoundland this would be your first stop. Wear comfortable shoes and walk around the hill.
Spectacle view from the top.. Ample parking.. Quite windy always.. Best place in st.johns to spend sometime if you feel bored. Both Day and Night views are superb.. Gives different shades of the city and ocean..
Awesome experience.
Breathtaking view of St. Johns ... a must see!
One of my favourite locations from my Newfoundland vacation! Great place for pictures and hiking with an amazing view of St. John's!
Always a fun and interesting walk good views good times
Always an awe inspiring view point to see the city of St. John's. Interesting history and important location for transatlantic communications. Go, for sure.
Amazing view
Beautiful view when weather conditions permit... I went there on a sunny day and it was breathtaking... Very nice place to visit. It's full of historical significance...
The views are absolutely breathtaking! We loved learning about the site by reading the signs and got so many amazing pictures. We were here on a foggy day and it was still amazing. Definitely a bucket list place!
Great place for a hike spectacular View
Cool site, with the best view in Newfoundland. Worth a visit.
Very nice historical park that gives you a good understanding of this site. Be sure to wear good walking/hiking shoes and it is generally very windy.
Was a rainy morning, as we approached the hill, the sun broke through for a short period, long enough for us to take some beautiful photos.
My absolute favourite place in the city! The view of the tower from anywhere in the city is amazing. And the view of downtown st. John's is perfect from the top of signal hill
Beautiful place. Gets pretty cold.
The best view in all of St. John's. Don't miss out because it is well worth it
Great views A little cool in Late September
Must visit place if you are in St John's. Great hikes and breathtaking views. There is a lot of breeze, but the views are so good, you won't be bothered by the breeze.
A must see place in St. John's. The hike from the bottom in a little steep, but there is a road to drive to the top as well. A few trails to choose from and lots of places to see amazing views of the coast line and city.
Beautiful place... but the cabot tower is not open so maybe next time it'll open up for visitors for some info...
You can feel the roots of this country and the history of protection by its people
Nice historical place.
Breathtaking views! Definitely wear layers and comfy shoes.
Cool spot you can see the entire city from up there , apparently the most haunted place in the city .. which if your into that it's cool , huge sections of trails to walk aswell. Check it out it's a great place
Signal Hill is a cool place to be, to watch the gorgeous view of the sea and St John's. It's even better if you want to try the North Head Trail that starts from here and take you around the cliff and end near the intersection of Battery and Signal Hill streets. I did the whole loop in about 3 hours.
Breathtaking views, a photographer's paradise (I'm clearly not) A must do on your St John's trip. Don't miss this one.
Breathtaking landscape of the Atlantic ocean also with historical museum on site with a piece of Rich history and with astounding scenery unforgettable experience friendliest ppl you'll ever meet.
Views are extraordinary and the area is well maintained. The wind was very cold though.
Great place to see St. John's and its surroundings. Night time view is also spectacular!
A beautiful place. A must visit
Love the view here, I always have. Great place for exercise with the hike or to see why St.Johns was such a desirable harbour for the French, English and Portuguese
Always good for da mornin sunrise. Tims and a good way to start a day.look at that awesome mornin sun.
So friggen beautiful up there! Very windy up there also.
We just drove to the top. Beautiful views. The historic building is a gift shop. The tourist information one level below has the history and short movie of Signal Hill. There is a small charge for admission.
Cool spot. Not as nice as Cape spear for views, interesting history and nice views of St John’s Harbour. VEERRRRYYYY windy though!!!!! Dress warm!
Great brisk historical walk and great views!
Beautiful scenery and a lovely set of trails to walk!
Historic. Beautiful. Majestic. What an amazing view from every angle. This place was so Grand that it will take few moments to soak in as you hike around Signal Hill. Clearly this is a must visit anyone that may come by this place or live here. Be warned that it is very windy and certain parts of a hiking path are treacherous if you are not careful. I cannot wait to come back here and soak up the beauty of the east coast of Canada!
Great historic site, wonderful view of the local area and the harbour.
Lots of information scattered around the site with beautiful views all around.
One word: Ammmazing!
History and scenery come together above the narrows offering great views of St. John's and its natural harbour. Cabot Tower is open to the public and has a windy wooden staircase that leads up to the top.
Great view and walking trails.
I have walked up Signal hill many times. When I reach the top, I always feel like I just passed the finish line in a big race. The view is enchanting. I've seen large boats, icebergs, and even the harvest moon from the top. The NL chocolate factory also has a spot up there if you want to treat yourself.
A very important landmark for North America, worth the trip, lots of great hiking around this area as well
A glimpse into the paradise that is waiting to be explored.
Best place to watch sunset
Signal Hill is uplifting, zen filled place to be with trails on all sides to go get your heart pumping
Fantastic views and History must see location allot of hiking bought my souvenirs here proceeds will go back into the site for upkeep and they are very reasonable
Amazing views, what else can be said. Easy drive or walk from Downtown st Johns.
Fantastic views and we'll maintained hiking trail!
Great place to get a view of the city on one side and a view of the Atlantic Ocean, icebergs and whales on the other. There is also a great hiking trail if you don’t mind narrow ledges and heights.
Breath taking no matter how many times I climb those hills
Beautiful place I love this point
So beautiful, the water is so clear
So beautiful!!! So many walking trails to go down, or just walk the grounds and learn the history.
breathtaking
Signal Hill is steeped with a rich history of not just a Canadian importance, but an international technological pivotal point within human history. The view from Signal Hill is stunning (specially during the evening on a clear sky.) Not only is there a nice museum, but also plenty of seating and information around the historic site. Definitely an essential visiting spot when stopping by in St. Johns.
Nice tourist spot. Took the international students there for a walk and some scenery. Was pretty busy.
Incredible views. A great place to hike and get photos of the city.
It takes you through historical journey. Especially as you read the sign posts around.
What a BEAUTIFUL gem in St John’s! They have several hikes on the hill with description of what you’ll see and the difficulty level, and there are many signs throughout the national park guiding you whether you start from the top or the bottom of signal hill. If you decide to start from the top, make sure you start your hike from Cabot tower. As well, just a reminder that signal hill is always a few degrees cooler and much more windy than the city - bring extra layers and a hat!
Great place to visit but everyone knows that, lol.
Fantastic! A must do when in St. Johns
Incredible views, well maintained property, lots of parking, and the drive to get up there is amazing!
The place has a touch of history. A calm and peaceful place to enjoy the sight of waves .
Fantastic place to visit ! A must go! A must go hike! A must go for the views!
What an amazing view and experience.
Signal Hill is a place in St John's where you can lose yourself walking and discovering the beautiful gifts of mother nature. Pick some blueberries during your walk and enjoy and chill your soul. Talk with people and remember Marconi with a cup of good chocolate made in St John's. Cheers for life and love it.
What a beautiful view of the harbor!
Essential part of visiting Saint john’s ! Signal hill , reading the information is a must if you’re not in a guided visit ! And a gift shop inside the Cabot tower !
Breathtaking view of the bay! The Battery Road trail is hard but worth the effort.
Beautiful site! Many different hiking trails to climb and many pictures to be taken. Even on a cloudy day, it's a great place to be!
Amazing hiking trail maintained by parks Canada. True flavor of Newfoundland coastline
The place was gorgeous! A beautiful walk from downtown St. John's & within a few minutes you can be alone outside!
Enjoyed walking the grounds and also spent over an hour at the museum. Came back to the top of this place 3 times to finally get a view not obstructed by fog. It was worth it.
Great hiking location and even better view of St. John's. The hike was longer than we expected and if you start at the top and go down, you will have to figure out your way back up the hill by going though a little bit of the town and up the road you drove up.
It's an awesome place. Good to bring kids. :)
Loved ????
I love visiting Signal Hill. The view of the city is gorgeous and really lets you take in the character of St. John's. The hikes/walks around the hill are dotted with historical plaques that teach you about the various structures that were there. They also showcase a lot of flora and fauna. My kids were pretty excited about the blueberry bushes.
3 mile hike around Signal Hill. Absolutely beautiful day. Cannot match the views with zero cloud cover.
Breathtaking views. Lots of history to learn. Many things to do and see
A must to visit while in St. John's NF.gives you a good perspective on how old the harbor is and how important it was over the centuries in protecting its coastlines and NF .picture are of general area signal hill
It was freezing the day we went. Gorgeous scenery.
Very beautiful and gorgeous spot to view the entire St. John's city.
Such an amazing historical spot. Plus the views are amazing.
I was dreading walking up this hill before I knew anything about it. But my demeanor quickly changed once I got there! There's not just one trail to take there is like 5. Anywhere from intense to a light leisurely walk! There is a trail for everyone! We took the trail going up to the Queen's battery and Cabot tower. I was blown away by the views! I'm so glad I didn't skip this place on my trip to St. John's. I'm not in the best shape but found the trails easy and fun! Check it out if you're in town!
One of my favorite hikes is to go from Cabot Tower, through the narrows, then up to the Battery. These photos were taken with a very low cloud ceiling - or maybe a high fog bank. Whichever, it added to the ambience.
One of our favourite destinations in St. John's. Get a coffee, head up the hill, park and watch the ocean...who knows, in he summer, you may see an iceberg or a whale
It is nice view location in addition to its historical importance but you need to visit in summer ????
A good spot to view St John's and its surroundings! Newfoundland Chocolate is a must see and try!
Beatiful trails along the coast, along with a great view of the harbour.
Awesome view with a sunny day!
Must see for anyone visiting St. John's! Amazing scenery where you can see a large portion of the city, as well as the ocean, cape spear and Ft Amherst. There is also a hiking trail that goes down and around the cliffs, trail has steep sections, be advised! Accessible from downtown near the Sheraton hotel. Place is extremely popular, parking is limited. Suggest walking the hill or taking the new summer bus route 27 "The Link" which covers signal hill and quidi vidi village.
A trip to Signal Hill is a must for anyone travelling in Newfoundland....minutes from downtown St John's the view of St John's Harbour and the mighty Atlantic Ocean are truly breathtaking. Multiple hiking trails along the rugged coastline and history of St John's are readily available throughout the site, along with a professional and courteous staff, a visit to Signal Hill is well worth the effort!
If you're in St.John's be sure to visit this beautiful historic site, great walking trails with incredible views of the ocean. If you have the chance (and weather cooperates????) this is an absolutely amazing place to watch the sunrise. I'm so blessed to live in such a beautiful province. Cheers everyone! #enjoythelittlethings
Great hike, views. Don't miss the interpretive centre
Beautiful views and an interesting history!
This is a great place for a hike, run or walk. The scenery is incredible. So many ways to go, all with their own challenges. I highly recommend going here when you are in St John's. You will regret it if you don't go
Outstanding, a must see.
This was my first stop for touristy stuff to do in St. John's. I just walked there from my hostel, amazing views. I decided not to walk the North Head Trail but would next time. I also visited the Geocentre, it's great too and very interesting and informative.
Great views and interesting Canadian history. Definitely bring a jacket, good shoes and something warm to drink.
Nice easy access. Even had some whales playing just off the narrows.
Excellent spot in St John’s. I thought that they would have something to highlight Marconi’s experiment, but there was only a picture. Beautiful spot with great little hikes to do. The views are spectacular.
My favorite run, climb with an incredible view and super people!
Great day for a hike! Happy Easter.
beautiful on sunny day and romantic on a foggy day. gets windy. bring a jacket and water. nice trails with amazing views. watch boats enter and leave the harbour, see icebergs in the water.
Lots parking, interesting write ups, overlooks St John harbour
Beautiful views! Breathtaking view of the Atlantic ocean
What an amazing experience . The pride and joy of Newfoundland !!! Bring your hiking shoes and lots of water. Endless hiking trails and endless amounts of fun Signal hill offers a historic trip and a day full of exercise . Pack food as there is not much around to eat .
Lots of historical information, Lots of hiking trails and beautiful views.
Signal Hill's not just something to look AT, but its also a great spot to take photos FROM. If you can catch a sunny day its a great spot to take pictures of family posing.
Love visiting here when we are back home. Different view everytime
Great view and lots of history on Signal Hill. If you hike up you even get a certificate proving it. There are lots of placards explaining what you are seeing. The gift shop is the only thing open to go through. Wear a windbreaker!! The winds are strong and in places can make the hike/walk difficult. There is also a parking lot at the top for those not excited about the hike.
Very easy to drive to. Great views. Interesting history. The tower was fun for a quick explore and lookout from the top.
Its beautifull.but those stairs are a challenge.lol
A beautiful place with amazing views ????
Amazing view of the city and the ocean with lots of hiking trails.
The views are great and so is the history of the site. The road up is steep but I saw quite a few people walking. Read about Marconi before you come so you know the significance.
Top of St John's newfoundland. A historic battle took place here. That would be the historical aspect. And for the adventurers rhere is a hiking trail trhat takes you from the top of the hill through steps and bridges to one of the most sensational sceneries.
A fascinating history with the first wireless communications from Cornwall, England to Newfoundland in 1901.
A true gem with so much to offer.
Really awesome place! The hiking trails are fairly easy for a no hike as they are well travelled and there are stairs going down. The view in unbelievable and they shot the cannons off during the day. This is a great place to learn about Canadian history and see some beyond amazing views.
Amazing trails and historical site
Incredible place with lots of history. Beautiful views of both the Atlantic Ocean and St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador. We walked from the lower parking lot all the way to the top of the hill. Then we walked down the ocean side of the hill and sat on the Parks Canada red chairs and looked out at the Atlantic Ocean. There is a gift shop in the historic Signal Hill building on the top of the hill. You can also park at the top of the hill if you decide the climb is too much for you.
Hard to get up the hill but worth it if you push yourself! Cool off with a cranberry juice from the store inside of the tower.
Post cards are only $0.69! Nicely kept with memorials. Great outdoor place to visit.
Beautiful hike. Great trails and views.
We came here winter time and we got a nice view of the city of St. John's and the ocean! Nice to go when it's not windy so you can enjoy staying on the hill. Icebergs can be visible as early as May. You can also walk the trails, just be careful as its steep and may be slippery. Not advisable to do the trail during winter. Best time to go here would be between June-August.
Amazing views!
Great hike....beautiful view of the harbor and surrounding areas
Excellent place to watch the horizon.
I have been here twice and I still can’t get over how beautiful the views are. The hike along the cliff is pretty steep but worth it for the scenery
Beautiful view and great trail with big flaw. Not enough signs to properly guide us to the trail so we ended up with two dead ends making us waste about 30mins of our precious time.
Great place for hiking! You could spend hours here!
This place has some amazing views of the open ocean, St. John's, and the harbor!????On a clear day you can see Cape Spear. There are also some good hikes close around. ????????
Was eerily foggy and super windy at the top of the hill. The views from the top were very scenic. Lots of pathways for hiking around. Really beautiful park. Could spend all day here easily. Great place for taking lots of pictures.
One of my favorite trails in the city! Great views and a nice challenge.
Nice spot. I could see maybe 100 feet. You're there when you're there
Super cool spot. Really interesting exhibit upstairs about the first wireless communications. But more than anything the area is beautiful, even in the mist.
Absolutely gorgeous on a sunny day! Beautiful views of the Atlantic ocean and St John's. And a lovely hike along the trail by the water.
Stunning view of ocean and a great history behind this place. We saw some whales too.
Great view and a must see for every tourist
Great place to hike . Many trails to choose from. The store is great too.
It's a bit of a climb but well worth the effort. Amazing views of the coast and St. John's.
Lots of history. Easy trails.
It was beautiful nice weather lot's to see and do. Fresh air great foods
Great detail on information given on the history as you walk around and marvel at the spectacular view. Only disappointment was , the Cabot tower was closed off to tours. Not sure if that was a temporary thing. It's a must see for anyone going to st John's.
MAGNIFICENT! And an outstanding rocky cliff hike even in a wee bit of fog!
Beautiful little hill with parking at the top for those that struggle with walking up hills or trails. The history is intriguing. You must walk to the top of the building and feel the power of the wind. If you are a runner, give the road or trail a shot. If you bike, ride up the road!
Must visit for your trip to St. John's. Fantastic views and some great history.
Breathtaking view of the city and the ocean. The sunrise and sunset are beautiful from here!!
The view of the area is breathtaking. The hikes are long but extremely worth it
Cabot tower is amazing! The view is the best view of the city besides flying over it! Sorry the pictures do not do it justice.
Great hiking, great sight seeing and just at the beginning of the trail headed over to cuckolds cove is a little tucked away area with a couple picnic tables. Great quiet place to relax and look out over the ocean.
The trail to the top is easy and the view on st. John's Harbour is quite amazing. On the way it is worthy to stop to have a look at the old cannons that were guarding the Harbour during the war. Most of the days is very windy so you need to be a little careful while walking along the cliff. The all trail probably last about an hour.
The view was fantastic.very relaxing. Beautiful place for a picnic. We did.
The trail around the Hill is beautiful and a must-do on a St. John's visit
The rugged beauty of this place is magical. I love the chairs and the views. I wish I could take a piece home with me.
Signal hill is a pretty amazing site with a good story to go with it, Unfortunately the weather did not cooperate the day I was there. However, the weather made up for it by providing a clear day to see some amazing icebergs a short drive from St. Johns. You could actually go down to the beach and pick up fragments of the iceberg. I hired a local boater to take us out and get a closer look. You cant imagine the size of this monster until you get up and close. But not too close as the captain of the boat said we have to stay a certain distance in case a piece of the iceberg falls off and creates a wave big enough to cause us damage or sink us. The drive along the coast is beautiful and dotted with little villages and and relics of the past.
So cool! Beautiful place and an interesting building. Did not get to see too much inside but circumstances were different due to covid. Gift shop staff were nice and friendly. The noon gun is definitely worth watching, the shooter was very friendly and answered many questions with lots of detail. He had a lot of knowledge to share about the cannon/gun. We went on our second day in St. Johns and from then on it was nice hearing the subtle 'boom' from elsewhere in the city, knowing what had happened! We walked the southern portion of the trail, starting at the top of the hill. I recommend this trail and doing it in this direction, otherwise you have a lot of stairs to climb in the end! If you're lucky, you may even run into a kind man with his giant Newfoundland dog, Chief!!
