You will see the information of real people like you who purchased the products of OWL Orphaned Wildlife Rehabilitation Society (Zoo) in the territory of Delta (Canada).
As of day this firm receives a rating of 4.7 over 5 and the rating has been calculated on 127 reviews.
As you can read, its rating is almost the top, and it is founded on a large number of reviews, so we can think that the score is quite accurate. If people have bothered to leave their opinion when they've done well, is that it works.
As you know, we don't usually bother to set feddbacks when they are correct and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or issue...
This Zoo belongs to the category of Non-profit organization.
Super cute and very informative. Price is by donation. This is a great family experience and isn’t very time consuming. Would absolutely recommend a visit.
Very informative, didn't like seeing the birds in cages but did like that they have a special place to rehab.
I think the open house should be on everyone's yearly must do list. Give a few bucks in donations and help a good organization do great things.
It was really cool to see the different birds here!
Very interesting, with so many birds of prey- bald eagles, hawks, alot of different owls including a snowy owl. Be sure and donate while your their. You can also sponsor a bird.
Incredible dedication
A great place to see some beautiful birds and experience a group of people passionate about helping them!
I found a owl in East Van, he crashed in front of my car, thanks a million to the team especially Caitlyn and Angela ! They took care of this wonderful animal and Angela called me to tell me he was better and they wanted me to be there to release him ( after 2 months! Incredible ! Magic Moment for sure !) CONGRATS TO ALL THE TEAM !!!
Currently with reduced or no access and days due to PHO. Call ahead on Saturday and Sundays.
Kevin was very knowledgeable and great with the kids! Thank you so much guys! :)
Great place running for over 3 decades. Suddenly rmb I visited this place in elementary school and looked them up. still here still doing wonderful things. there's an owl here since the beginning which means it's prolly the same owl I saw as a kid
Giving wild birds a second chance at life after injuries
Good place to learn about raptors and understand how they helping injured birds back to wild
Professional and fast! Out of all the wildlife rescue places they picked up their phone right away, gave me clear instructions what to do and quickly sent someone over to take the injured owl away.
My home away from home. Volunteering for OWL has been a huge part of my adult life. The staff and volunteers are always welcoming. Being able to be a part of a good cause to help save Raptors is an amazing feeling!
The work they do is incredible .The team is an amazing group of volunteers and enthusiasts .Besides kids love this educational tour
We stopped in and got a private tour to view and ask questions about the education birds.
I had a great time with my family getting to see the birds and supporting wildlife.
Tour was a simple walk around to view the resident raptors. Everything is by donation. We got a private tour because we were the only ones there. The organisation seems to be doing great work. I wish they had more resources because they are doing a wonderful and humane thing for these birds who are mostly injured by human activity.
Awesome place, good initiative
We came in afternoon for a tour (by donation). It was nice to view all the birds up close and our guide was knowledgeable, answered questions, and gave a brief history of each bird.
Knowledgeable volunteers, tours every half hour, a little museum and gift shop and they have open house days.
Great work they are doing. The display of the birds is good but it will be great when they upgrade to aviaries that give Joe Public a better view of the birds. The lady who took us around explained it v clearky and well. We enjoyed the visit. Can recommend if you are into birds.
A wonderful place to bring young school age children (K+) for a short visit and learn about how OWL helps to rehabilitate injured/orphaned birds of prey. We visited on a weekday afternoon in August and were the only visitors for their half-hour tour (they run these throughout the day - you can check their website for updated times). While waiting for our tour, one of the volunteers approached us and shared her experiences and knowledge of the birds with us. We had a knowledgeable guide for our tour as well (who let us know she has volunteered there for a few years and is still studying in school) and she was very patient with our children, answering many of the questions they had. They also have a small museum with some interesting displays!
A great thing to have in our community. These birds are lucky.
We enjoyed our visit very my much. Our tour was super informative. The work that this organization does is amazing.
Excellent experience for the whole family. Friendly knowledgeable staff.
I went to an open house there. There are lots of birds there, mainly owls, but you can also see falcons, vultures or eagles. The staff is very dedicated and passionate about their work. I gave them 4* just because it saddens me all the time to see birds in captivity, even though I know they would not survive in the wilderness because of their health issues.
The volunteers here are wonderfully upbeat and informative during their tours. The location is smaller than expected, and rather difficult to find, but the surrounding area is rife with various birds and is almost more entertaining to drive around than the sanctuary.
This little place that's tucked away in a hidden corner (and can be a little tricky to find) is a remarkable place to learn about this organization that helps to rehabilitate injured and/or orphaned wildlife. There's a couple dozen permanent resident birds - mostly owls, hawks, and eagles - it's great to learn of each bird's story through your guide. The people that run the guided tours are very friendly and knowledgeable, and the little gift shop has great little souvenirs to remind you of your visit and support the amazing work they do here.
Great visit! Amazing birds and very informative
This place is such an amazing place. They volunteer to help injured or sick owls hawks eagles or raptors as they like to call them. You can take tours and meet resident golden eagle bald eagles and other type of owls. How amazing for all ages. No matter how old you are to be up close and see these absolute beautiful creatures is something very cool.. i personally donate to this facility as the cost to care for sick or injured raptors/animals is high
Excellent facility with informative displays and a big collection of cool birds. Always enjoy their open house event.
Amazing place to visit...
Great place!
I've been volonteering in this rehabilitation centre for birds in 2013, and had a wonderful experience there. Ppl working there are very nice, helpful and open-minded. As lover of nature, this work brought me a good view of birds, we were feeding and taking care of. A PLACE YOU MUST VISIT (at least). Cheers OWL, always in my heart.
Get up and close to beautiful birds of prey. There is nowhere else like this place. Volunteer run.
volunteered here for 3 weeks. a team that truly loves to help rehabilitate raptors, always tries their best and cares for all the animals. goes far and wide to pick up raptors! good display of front education birds as the rest are not permanent and shouldn't be viewed. respectful! come visit and donate! always appreciated
So amazing ! Loved the bald eagles so much!
Great educational raptor rehabilitation Centre. Call ahead for tours.
The volunteers are very knowledgeable and the tour we got was so informative and totally outstanding
These people do God's work. Super cool place to check out near the Delta Airport. Thanks again
Amazing visit for my wife daughter, grandkids & I! The staff is so friendly, they are so knowledgeable. The birds are beautiful well taken care of, this place is a blessing we will be back.
Super fun and educational place!
Great place to visit if you have kids. Come down when they have a open house.
Great place. Very informative. You ask about any bird they will likely have an answer for you. Pleaser donate!!!
A place to learn info about where the injured bird went in vancouver location
This is an amazing place
Thanks for everything!
The volunteer who toured us around was very friendly and knowledgeable. By nature it was a short visit with about 15 or so raptors to see, all in one area, but I very much enjoyed the experience.
Very nice facility with a tour organized by volunteers every 30 min.
Very dedicated staff.
Nice to see . Flat and small. Donations help the birds.
I volunteered here for a few years it was fun and educational it helped me with my hours for school but I stuck around cuz I loved it here
This is a very out-of-the-way place that's a bit difficult to find initially. However, once you get there the sanctuary draws you in quickly. Amazing birds, all helped by the organization after suffering major injuries from people and vehicles, are housed on display for visitors to go walk through and see them up close. Everyone there (including the visitors) seemed very respectful of the birds and genuinely interested in learning more about them. The volunteers were extremely friendly and helpful throughout out our visit. We toured the small museum which has some very intricate and impressive displays. Unfortunately arriving pretty close to closing time (itself very early) the entire visit was somewhat rushed. But I do plan on going back with a little more time to learn and see even more.
Habe some great birds there to see, eagles, owls, ect
OWL is an amazing organization! My kids are always excited for their open house. We wants wait to see their new expansion! The staff is knowledgeable and engaging and can hold all of the kids' attention, so clearly they know what they are doing!
Excellent visit of the rescued bird rehab center! We learned the stories of both OWL's permanent residents (birds unable to live in the wild), as well as those who are healing & ultimately will be released back into their native habitat. Most are birds of prey, & many help as foster parents to other younger birds! The majority comes from all corners of B.C. with the odd exception from the Yukon. The work the center does is amazing & they share their knowledge with both public visits and also in schools! Well worth your time! There's also a gift shop & entry is by donation. Enjoy!????
Love it. People who works where are amazing. Thank you for doing it.
So glad that I visited this bird of prey sanctuary. They do amazing work helping injured birds.
My Girl Guides troop just did an online info session and I thought it was really great! Zack (presenter) and Sarah (barn owl) were naturals in front of the camera and we learned so much during our session. They have different packages available and were very professional. The pellet dissection was great fun for our Brownie group, so I highly recommend the info session PLUS the pellet dissection (order in advance and keep in freezer until day of dissection). We were happy to support this local organization, especially during Covid as many animal nonprofits have been largely forgotten. Thank you so much OWL!
Here is good for family picnic. In the first saturday of May, they show the scene that wild bird is be free.
great place to take the kids
Such good work is done here! My girlfriend and I got there a little late, they still let us through and gave us a tour even though they were already done with tours. The owls and eagles we're beautiful to see and a little sad to know so many are injured. A nice little outing. Bring cash for donations if you can, it's a non-profit and they run on donations.
Fantastic open house letting you see what goes on and what a good job they do
While it's quite tucked away it's worth the trip. Viewing area is quite extensive showcasing many native raptors including: owls, hawks, eagles, and vultures that are unable to be reintroduced to the wild due to injury or possible ailments. A separate section is onsite for those birds that are being rehabilitated. However, this area is not open to the public - which makes perfect sense. It's great to see a local NPO supporting this cause - donations are appreciated but not required.
First rate care facilitie for injured birds. Very educational for children. Dedicated volunteers who put in countless hours of their time.
Great 1 hour guided tours of various birds of prey. Book a tour in advance. Cost is by donation.
I've been birding at Boundary Bay Dyke Trail a few times. Today after walking the trail I feel I want more. So on my way home when I saw its sign I drove in. I'm very happy I did.
It was an interesting tour. I'm sure more will be going on after pandemic settles. But the birds we saw are beautiful
So cool to see all these Raptors close up. The by-donation guided tour was great. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable. Looking forward to going back!
Great place and the team. Very humble cause they are in. Have joined them in a small way, that I can and will be doing, within my reach. Buddha bless! Anil
Excellent education place
These eagles are not from OWL but im sure if they required assistance from them, they wouldn't hesitate! Im just a huge birding photographer/ birder and i thought these recent pics i captured you all would enjoy!
Great experience. Tours go every half hour during the summer, and it is guided tours only. All the birds you see are permanent residents for various reasons. Donation boxes are everywhere but no one tells you to donate which is nice. Donations and gift shop purchases help them keep rescuing and releasing birds. They have a museum set up that you can explore after the tour, with taxidermy creatures for educational purposes.
Friendly people doing great work. Owls are cute.
Don't ever work for this place. They hire you under false pretense. They are so happy in the beginning but fire you so they can save money.
Wonderful hidden gem if you're into birds. It was fun to learn so much about these birds during the tour. It is also very sad to hear a lot of the rehabilitated birds were injured from getting hit by vehicles or electrocuted on electric boxes / lines. They do good work here in helping birds get back into the wild. Come and support these guys!
Great rehab centre..great staff lead tours..lots to learn about birds of prey..
These people save birds and have an eminence amount of knowledge about them. I called when I found a wounded Eagle and they came to save it. They called me back about two months later to let me know when it would be released. We went to see it. It was a very beautiful moment. Great people. They have an open house early May. Aidan Pringle
Go here!! It's amazing
Really worth checking out. Really fun to volunteer, they always need an extra set of hands in the spring.
Fun place to take the kids to learn about birds of prey! The volunteer who have us our tour was very knowledgeable - overall a great experience.
Excellent care for injured raptors and rehabilitation.
A great place to learn more about raptors
Bring your kids here, it's pretty cool to see these giant creatures up close
A great organization, they are all clearly passionate and knowledgeable. The open house is fun for all, but the important work that the people at owl are always doing is truly amazing. Kudos to owl.
Great tours of the facility and it's rescued owls, eagles and other wildlife. Wonderful caring staff. Great for kids.
What a fantastic organization. Loved its purpose and facility so much on a visit I started volunteering!
Great place to visit. My one year old loved seeing all the birds, especially the bald eagles. We were the only ones there so we got a personal tour. We also enjoyed seeing all the wild eagles in the area on our drive there.
Birds
A fantastic place for families, classes and raptor enthusiasts. Incredibly friendly staff who are very knowledgeable about all the raptors at OWL.
Very caring, sensitive organization rehabilitating injured raptures for release in their natural habitat with minimal imprinting by man.
So many eagles!
Owl is dedicated to helping all injured and sick birds of all species though they specialize in rehabilitation Raptors and Owls since 1985. The whole setup they have there is wonderdul and well organized. Bev Day the owner has got great staff with Rob overseeing of organizing and running of the buisness. They have tours of the facility and offer educational programs to students and Volunteers. Go for a visit and a tour as Owl is totally a non-profit organization and accepts donations and offers memberships or Sponsor a raptor. I totally recommend you won't be disappointed!!
Great place to go if you would like to see some really impressive birds up close!
Great place to visit
Absolutely enjoyable experience. Visited on Thurs. Aug.22 in the morning, had a short wait for the next tour which we were lucky enough to be just the two of us. Chris, the guide was super informative about each and every bird in the outside enclosures with how/why they ended up there. Enough variety of birds to be worth the visit with Sarah the office Barn Owl giving great photo ops. These birds are super animated and amuse with their natural behavior. There is also a small museum with taxidermy and skeleton displays attached to a small gift shop. Parking is plenty and the setting although close to Boundary Bay Airport is quiet and serene with farm land surrounding. This is a non-government funded facility that relies on donations but never have I experienced any sort of pressure tactics. I encourage everyone to donate as the service and rehab they provide is essential as well as the teaching factor invaluable. Sadly, an injured owl was being brought in as we arrived. They explained that in such situations, they follow-up with the rescuer on progress. Repeat visits will be made with the hopes of one day volunteering.
Great facility. Nice to see people care about injured birds. Volunteers are doing wonderful job. Great place to take kids to learn about raptors. Tours are provided with knowlegable guides. Also have an interesting museum. Take the time to make this a destination. A little out of the way but easy to find.
Very interesting
Bless this place and their volunteers
Wonderful place !
Love it super friendly
Wonderful Rehab centre for injured Raptors, make a donation & take the tour it's well worth your time!
Far exceeded my expectations.
Amazing place doing such amazing work caring for the injured. They also have tours. If you can spare a small donation this company is worthy. Thank you to all doing such valuable needed work. Bravo. Also if you have spare clean towels and sheets/ blankets, call I am sure they would appreciate the extra linens. Or call to inquire what you could donate to help them out. I have donated and also donated extra clean towels. Best to maybe call to ask what they could use. And ask about Covid rules at this time. Bravo to them all.
Fascinating and very informative. We had an excellent tour and saw some amazing birds. Very worthwhile!
Oh I love this place. You get to meet some beautiful birds. Great place too make a donation.
Cute little raptor place and inspiring stories of their rescue. Nice outing for kids on a sunny afternoon. They give you tour and explain all about them. You’ll get to see 35 yr old owl, snowy OWL , long ear owl, Couple of Bald eagles ,???? and so many other permanent resident????. There’s a small museum with taxidermy animals and nice gift shop. ????
1/2 hour tour of the outside enclosures of birds of prey followed by a quick stop in small Taxidermy Museum.
Awesome place for raptor rehabilitation.
Very enjoyable and informative.
Such a lovely tour! We learned about each owl and raptor, as well as why each one cannot be released back into the wild. Each one also fosters babies so they can be released back into the wild. Certain areas are limited due to COVID, but you get to see lots! Admission is by donation, and tours must be reserved in advance by phone.
