REVIEWS OF George C. Reifel Migratory Bird Sanctuary IN Delta

I honestly always have a great time here. It's just just a magical place to go for a walk with loved ones or whomever and enjoy spotting interesting species of birds. During covid, you have to make an appointment, but it makes the place less crowded which is quite the benefit. If you end up going, cold drinks like water are a dollar and don't forget to pick up bird food for a dollar to feed the ducks and geese!

Andrea Verhoef

I really loved visiting the bird sanctuary, it was absolutely worth the trip and I’d absolutely go again! Be prepared to walk so you can see all the birds and pretty sights.. dress warm as it can be cool and bring your boots. We were there in the winter, so I’m sure it was more the case with us, but I would imagine this is often the case given the location. They do sell bird food there that you can buy to feed the ducks and chickadees (who you can get to land in your hand to feed), but you can also bring your own seed if you know what to buy. It’s worth looking at an annual family pass if you plan to go back, as it was a decent price and the money goes to help care for all the birds too! There is also a heated wood burning stove lodge that you can sit in to eat your lunch if you packed one, it was the highlight for us at the end of our walk on a very cold day and so nice.. you can also bird watch from the lodge too. There’s a good amount of seating in the lodge and a couple of tables too which can accommodate bigger groups. Definitely worth a trip!!!!

If you love birds, it’s the right place to go!

trina bowman

Absolutley fantastic will be bAck

Kyle Bailey

Such an amazing place to watch and study an array of different and interesting birds of all sorts and sizes. I love coming here every couple of years to shoot some photos of these lovely feathered friends. Although I shoot a lot at other locations, Reifel offers opportunities for images of species you never see anyplace else. Highly recommended for families and photographers.

Nicholas Milton

Peaceful walk listening to birdsong.

DexthCxtch

TERRIBLE! I will never again go to this pathetic EXECUSE for a bird sanctuary. The owner or whoever he was, was extremely rude for the simple reason that I ran from a duck. That guy thought I was chasing it, and didn't even give me a chance to explain myself. I would give this 0 stars if I could.

This is a hidden gem. I definitely recommend taking a nice walk here as it is a very nice area with great trails and beautiful landscape. It's also a nice drive on Westham Island - a place most locals do not get out to very often. Parking can be a challenge on certain days. Lots of Birds (check website for best times of the year). Our kids had fun feeding the birds.

Henry Xu

So much fun here. Birds were eating seeds on our hands. Best feeding experience ever!

Karen Hardie

We have been coming to Reifel for years. We visited this past week, and I was pleased that they are taking as much care as possible to protect their staff and visitors. Extra handwashing stations, limited admission between certain times, etc. As always, a class act. And the sandhill cranes were there when we visited too. :)

Robert F.

Nice even trails to walk through this protected area to view many different bird species.

Carla Bain

Never been this close to birds, waterfowl it was absolutely amazing, and the variety of species was awesome! That walk was nice, just wish parents would control their children more, they were running at the ducks, yelling and kicking, and going off trail! Really didn't appreciate that, but parents need to teach children to respect wildlife! Anyways want to definitely return !

Margarita Andreeva

A beautiful place to explore! I purchased bird binoculars before going, and found it handy to use as some birds are relatively far away from the walking paths. You can purchase seeds for 1$ and feed the birds in designated areas, which I thought was great.

Christina K

What an amazing place! Very well maintained and easy to interact with the birds. A lot of them are quite tame and you can hand feed them, including the cranes :)

Vivian

Great place for a walk with kids and feed the birds ducks geese. Saw a bald eagle flying overhead quite close. Walk to the tower at the furthest point is 750 m. (1.5km) return. Easy flat walk on nice trails. Kids enjoyed it. Washrooms are clean

Micaela Robinson

One of the best experiences you could do in the lower mainland for the whole family...or as a couple, with friends or even solo! It is 5$ for adults and 3$ for kids to get in. The walk can be long or short, depends which route you decide to take. You will see many many ducks and birds and you can feed them all! You can buy a tiny bag of feed there for 1$ . But I highly recommend you go to Westway feeds or somewhere beforehand to buy a larger bag of bird feed! ...or buy a few of them at the bird sanctuary. There are just way too many to feed and if you are patient enough some will even fly into your palm, if you hold it out with feed on it.

Andrea Watkins

Birdwatching and feeding with the kids, great afternoon spent at the sanctuary! Bring wild birdseed, or purchase for $1. Not many birds when we went other than ducks and geese, but the kids didn't care. Will definately ne heading back in the fall!

Cody Bisson

Great place for a date provided you are both fans of birds. Also a great spot for a casual walk surrounded by a wide variety of birds doing their bird stuff. The Canadian gees can be quite hostile though so be aware!

Lin Cong

Not a big variety of birds in summer. But still managed to feed some black birds which was satisfying

Jaclyn Guse

Wonderful even in the winter Oct - Nov is snow geese time so we didn't see any in early January. Lots of different species of ducks and some heron. Paths were well maintained just muddy. You can buy bird seed for a buck, highly recommended.

Norman Van Eeden Petersman

The Bird Sanctuary is a gem in South Delta! We love seeing a wide array of birds and we love the tranquility you'll find on the trails that criss cross the marshes and provide you with vantage points from which you can see the grasslands and estuaries nearby. Very low fee for entrance, clean washrooms, spacious picnic area, and a gift shop with unique items for sale. And did I mention that the volunteers are remarkable and friendly folks who love to welcome visitors young and old alike to this beautiful sanctuary area

Fishby

Amazing place to bird-watch. Great for the kids to see wildlife that they usually won't see in the city.

Terry Dee

A long drive but so fun for kids. Wish we knew about this place before. Chickadee's that fly onto your hands to feed. Ducks. Eagles. You name it. A hidden gem.

Ilke vz Bakker

Excellent place to enjoy nature and birds. Multiple trails leading around the park so it's easy to find peace even on a busy day. Lots of parking, trails are clean, nice washrooms, and birds, lots of birds.

Malcolm Leong

Been visiting Reifel ever since I was a wee tike! Spent many hours hiking the area and bird watching! When my daughter was born, continued the tradition and took her to feed the ducks and bird watch at every opportunity! Peaceful! Serene! Calming! Best time to visit is late fall when various bird migrations are happening, nesting season is at its peak and then spring when chicks are hatching and starting to fledge, and the plants and fauna are starting to come into full bloom!

Corrine S

I cant say enough about this place. What a wonderful sanctuary with caring people and lots of birders! Cheap prices, great views, and long walks. Seriously debating spending the cash to buy a lifetime pass, it would so be worth it.

Sonya C

Lovely place to take a stroll with the significant other or kids in all seasons. The astounding variety of birds are a bonus. Binoculars can be borrowed from the gift shop. Check the website in wintertime for road conditions and early closures due to inclement weather.

Erin Lucey

My favorite spot in the Vancouver Metro area. The scenery and experience are unreal, especially considering how low admission costs are. There are SO many different kinds of birds to watch and great trails to walk along. I love feeding the chickadees, red winged blackbirds, ducks, and occasional sand hill crane right out of my hand. The staff are friendly and incredibly knowledgeable about the feathered visitors on the property. Once I even saw a tiny owl thanks to one of the bird watchers who frequent this gem. Pro tip: when you cross the one way bridge on the way in keep an eye out for a family of swans living in the harbor with the house boats. Also, check out the small farms on the way! They always have some tasty treats (my favorite is the home grown potatoes).

Emma Claire

Make sure you reserve online 3 days before! Lovely staff, nice 2.5ish km walk around the exterior. Plan to spend about 2 hours here. Bring binoculars. $5/adult and $1/bag of food. Clean washrooms too!

Neill M

A great place to take in the sights, some photos and see lots of unique birds!

Gerard Le (Guhtuhluh)

Great place to see ducks and geese. $1 for a bag of seeds to feed them

thisissimonb

At 242 logged sightings, this is one of the best places for birders of any experience level to have a good a time. 5 dollars to get in, plenty of blinds, and a heated lunchroom make it even better!

Jack Manuel

Excellent place to get up close with some birds. When I went in August, there were Canada geese and ducks everywhere. The office sells bags of seeds for the birds for only $1. One bag is more than enough for one person. They don't allow anyone to enter after 4pm so plan accordingly.

Sabeen Mapara

This is the place to visit on a monthly basis (or more) to spot birds you won't see in the city. It's the best place to practice bird photography, in my opinion, but you need to do the work to spot them. The place is cash only to get in, don't come hungry because they only sell chocolate bars in the gift shop, and use the washroom on the way in as there's only an outhouse inside.

Cynthia Owen

Always a pleasure to visit the migratory birds. They do an excellent job informing visitors about the birds and their habitats. Buy some bird seed at the counter. Interesting book store also on site.

Tim Woodland

We have been going here for years. Our kids love walking and seeing the many different types of birds. The trails are great for either a long walk or a short one.

Laura

What a lovely place. It’s rare to find a spot like this sanctuary that is so non-commercialized where the natural beauty is almost untouched.

Emma Irene

Definitely reccomend visiting here!! You can buy bird seed at the entrance and a lot of the birds actually land on your hand to eat out of it! The trail is great and I didn't get a bunch of pictures but you could definitely get great ones here!:)

Angela Wu

A very peaceful and therapeutic place. Great area to go for a nice walk, bring your children and learn about the different bird species :) Personally, I buy 9 bags of duck food and 1 bag of chickadee food. If I'm being honest that is totally not enough. I run through half my bags before I get to the trail. The ducks are just too cute and you feel guilty when they quack you just want to keep giving them food. The geese and the cranes are little bullies though =P they push the ducks aside and pull their feathers just to get to the food. If you put the ducks food in your hand, they will eat out of it. Don't be frightened. It doesn't hurt. The duck/chickadee food is $1.00 per bag. We enjoy this walk so much we paid for a family membership.

Bonnie Way

This was a nice place for a walk. The ducks and geese are friendly and the kids had fun feeding them. We didn't really see any birds that we haven't seen at any other parks around greater Vancouver, so I don't know if we were there wrong time of day or year or just the kids were too noisy. It was reasonably cheap to get in but I'd probably pick other places for a hike first.

Moh Rafati

This is one of my favorite places I discovered recently in metro Vancouver. Lots of birds and very friendly to visitors. In Fall and winter more birds live in here. So don't let the cold weather stop you from visiting this place.

Alex Yang

Cool place. Didn’t see too many birds other than ducks, but kids and family still enjoyed it a lot. They let you feed the birds which the kids really like. Visited on a sunny day, quite beautiful. We were just casual visitors but apparently it’s well known for serious bird watchers too. Saw quite a few folks with artillery size cameras. Gift shop is a bit underwhelming. We wanted to buy some souvenirs but they are mostly generic merchandise not specific to this place. However given the budget they have this small deficiency is understandable. Location is a bit remote and might be just a little tricky to find, but just follow google map and you’ll be fine. It’s surely worth the trip when the weather is nice

Darryn Kar

Busy on sunny days. Great for kids to see wildlife in person! You can bring bird seed, or buy bags there ($1 each, supports upkeep), and then go feed the ducks and geese. It gets busy and parking is limited

Karen Roeck

Our family loves the Reifel bird sanctuary!! We have been coming here since our daughter was a baby. It's definitely worth the trek from Langley. Our favorite times to go are in the summer with a picnic lunch and on Christmas day afternoon.

ARMANDO ESPINOSA

Amazing place for spend with the kids, really you have to visit it.

Chung Kim

Lovely place for bird watching and feeding birds.

Stuart Morris

A great place, so many birds, many accepting hand feeding (including finches, starlings, blackbird, chickadees, and sandhill cranes). My grandsons loved it, with the oldest claiming that it was the best day of his life.

Maikel Parets

Great place to take the kids or go for a walk and watch birds.

Tina W

An amazing place to spend time enjoying nature first hand with many varieties of birds. Seed is sold at the entrance. The birds are friendly and plentiful. There is a warming area heated with wood where you can have a rest while enjoying the view. Lots of easy walking trails that are good for all ages. Only $5 to explore this sanctuary.

Jennyfer Tan

This place is a bird lover's haven. You will see different species of birds each season you go. The trails are well kept, flat and not elevated so kids and the elderly can enjoy a leisurely walk. There are several trails to choose from if you are crunched for time.

MANN Niyati

I have been to so many places in Vancouver from last 4 months and it becomes my favorite place. 1 I love nature and if you’re a nature lover you’re gonna love this. 2 Birders this place is gonna give you so much fun you can expect anything here 3 Good for kids and young kids too give them education about birds . Ok reaching there is easy, you have restaurant and you have washroom in starting and few on different areas mostly busy so have patience. If you are going on the sides of marsh there’s is no toilet. Most of the trails are easy to walk so I think wheelchair can go there depending on their own liking if they are ready for a little rough ride. It’s a sanctuary we surely can’t expect marble floor. All in one awesome place.

Wei Kung

Hand feed chickadees!! The birds runs towards you there when they see you carrying those small brown bags of bird feed

Rana Jamshed

Magical and peaceful. A must see for nature and bird lovers

Sarah Dumont

Simply Amazing! So close to the city as well! The big crane birds are amazing to see. So many ducks my three-and-a-half-year-old just loved it. Nice place for a walk great place for kids to learn about wildlife. Highly recommend.

Rylen Moore

Yesterday was my first visit to this sanctuary and I walked out with a new t-shirt AND year-long membership. Absolutely beautiful walk and so many gorgeous birds to try and spot! I couldn't have had more fun playing with the ducks and chickadees, too. Booked my next visit for two days from now and plan on going weekly just for some peace of mind. Thank you!

Colin Wong

Excellent place to see some migratory birds, including big birds of prey! Highly recommended!

Bo Wen

This is a gem within an hour drive from most parts of the Lower Mainland. Highly recommend a visit or multiple visits. Every season brings on new colors, new birds and new sounds. It's a great place for families, couples, or just anyone looking for some natural soundscape.

Joseph Neely

Great place to go walking and birdwatching. They also have a small picnicking area with tables. The gift shop sells various bird and nature related items and small packets of bird seed to feed the birds while you are there. Although this is obvious to the hobby birdwatchers, it may not be to everyone; At different times of the year you will see different birds as a lot of the birds seen in the Sanctuary are Migratory.

Claire Wang

Such an awesome place to visit with kids or nature lovers. Very well managed and planned.

David OS

A very lovely and peaceful place. Great for all ages. Quite a large place to walk around. Needs admission fee, but it's affordable.

Jennifer McIntyre

It was lovely. If you love birds and nature photography, this is a place you would like. Make reservation as there is a small parking lot.

J Ko

Peaceful scenery and good trails.

Megan Lucas

The best place to feed ducks and observe nature with children.

Demi Marlin

Amazing all throughout the year as different seasons attract different types of birds. You can purchase seeds to feed and I love feeding the redwing blackbirds and chickadees right from my hands! Lots to see and would leave a lot of time to check it all out in its entirety.

Andy Aras

A favorite for many locals for bird watching. Even, gravel trails make it easy to walk. Sunday morning guided bird walk included in the $5 admission. Great if you are new to birding as many species and their habits will be shown and explained. Having a bad day? Bring birdseed and have the chickadees, nuthatches and even red winged black birds feed out if your hand... guaranteed to put a smile on your face!????

Emily Graham

Terrible system during COVID. Went to reserve on Monday to go on Sunday, was told you could only reserve 3 days before going and I had been trying to reserve 6 days before going. Put it in my calendar to go to the bird sanctuary but forgot to go in and reserve on Friday. Sorry that this single working mother made the plans, tried to reserve and forgot to go in a 2nd time to reserve after already trying. Drove 1 hour out with my 2 year old to be turned away because of not having a reservation. Tried to reserve today, but was told it had to be reserved 24 hours in advance. How does this make sense? You need to reserve at least 24 hours before, but not more than 3 days before, giving you a 48 hour window during which you have to reserve.

Kon H. Song

It has a nice little trail with some nice view points. Birds would feed off of seeds on your hand if you stand still and wait.

Daniel Poon

Nice place for birdwatching any time of the year. Totally family friendly, purchase bird seed at the start of the walk.

Alicia Newell

Looooove this place (all five 'o's are necessary). I might be biased because I love birds, but I always have a good time here, even in the rain. You can feed chickadees from your hand in the winter, and there's a TON of ducks year round. It's a "cheep" date at $5 entry per person, and bags of feed for $1. It's a pretty big place, so we easily spend anywhere from one to three hours here; and they'll give you a map if you're worried about getting lost. Also it's stroller friendly, so it's a great place to spend time with little ones. Pro-tip: bring a thermos full of your favourite hot beverage in the colder weather!

Chris Bruck

It's great and the ducks are friendly and awesome. Great Prices but reccomend buying your own seeds.

Pamela Abarca

Most beautiful place to gain clarity, support wildlife and spend quality time with family ????

Edward Pickett

Great place especially on a so so day. Close to the rain shadow so more likely to be dry and warmer. Best in the fall to spring so weather counts. Combine with a stop at the many farm stands and you have a great weekend outing with friends or kids

Corey Reynolds

Great place to get away from the city bustle and enjoy nature for all ages. The kinds of birds you will see vary on the season. In the cooler months there are hundreds of hungry ducks, in the spring most of the ducks are gone and the songbirds come out to play. If you're lucky, you can get a bird to land on and eat out of your hand! Just incredible!

Marko S

I went here recently with my family and was pleasantly surprised by the variety of volume of birds. The walk around the sanctuary was very enjoyable and there were a considerable amount of larger birds on the trail that were approachable. There were also small cabins for the experienced bird watcher to observer birds in their natural habitat. I personally am not a big bird watcher but I still enjoyed my stay and would recommend everyone to try this place at least once

Simon Johnston

Such a wonderful place to spend the day enjoying nature.

LMN 1984

Love it here. It's a fantastic walk with beautiful views all while making friends with the birds along the way. There is plenty of information to learn on the way. It makes me want to get a book to learn even more. They're is also a warming hut with old wood burning stoves.

Chris Bradley (1029chris)

Beautiful park and friendly birds. Highly recommended if you like parks or birds.

Cimz Cour

Great place for bird watching!

Mary Vander Molen

Lovely bird sanctuary, with lots of alternate routes for variety. Mainly water birds to be seen, but others can be seen as well.

Ryan Baggott

So much family fun and greatly quite easy. There is bird deep there to purchase and you just go for a lengthy stroll feeding birds. Allowing them to land on your hand or head even!! My family had a blast, first it was “where are we going and what are we doing?” In 2 hours turned into “can we come back next weekend?” Located on the outskirts of Ladner it’s a beautiful scenic drive, wooden bridge, float homes, farm lands and a winery are all attractions along your way there. Super fun way to spend the day

Kenneth Cheung (Tigerkru11)

Such an amazing place to go, I love coming here and feeding the little birds and duckies that are all over the place. I always leave my phone in my car and spend at least 2 hours here to just relax and enjoy nature. Would recommend coming here with your significant other.

Reena B

Great place to explore birds. Most of the birds are seasonal so other than ducks geese and cranes you won't see much this summer. The landscape is very scenic with raw unmanicured views.

Elizabeth Santamaria

Excellent destination for nature/bird lovers and families. Walk the far perimeter for windy ocean views and photo opportunities of water fowl or raptors, a wooded trail to glimpse an owl or Downy Woodpecker, or choose an inner path along waterways where you might encounter a Sandhill Crane. An abundance of birds to feed ($1.00 for a bag of seed available to buy), gorgeous views and fresh air will invigorate and lift your spirits. Book an available time slot online and you have 2 hours given to arrive. For example, if you book a 9am time slot, you have until 11am to arrive. Once you have arrived, you are welcome to stay until closing (4pm). Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for children and seniors. The parking lot was quite full today when I went at 10:30am, but the trail layout allows for plenty of safe physical distancing. 1 Port-a-Potty available in the outer trails and full washroom facilities available near the entrance. Birdlife seen today (Nov 6th): Downy Woodpecker, Black Capped Chickadees, Northern Flickers, Red Winged Blackbirds, Juncos, Kinglet, Spotted Towhees, Sandhill Cranes, Robins, Fox Sparrows, Canadian Geese, Eagles and all manner of various duck species.

Vikram S

Great place to visit to see different wildlife. Birds and animals are very friendly and will ear right our of your hands. Tour guides are professional Biologist's and have a wealth of knowledge and experience at the bird sanctuary. It is distance to travel but worth the time.

Allanah Carsience (Official)

My favorite place to go birding! Since the covid closures the birds have gotten much more friendly (they were already friendly) so it has been a great experience! My only issue is how many parents let their kids toss gravel in the air, or worse at the birds and then the birds think that small rocks are food... please don't leave your children unattended, this isn't a zoo and you're visiting the home of wildlife, the wildlife didn't come there to amuse humans.

Ron Britton

Brilliant place to see all kinds on birds and other wild life. We saw bald eagles, many species of ducks, black squirrels and red-winged blackbirds which fed out of your hand. Absolutely mind blowing experience. Thank you.

Sandra V

Such a fun place. Live seeing all the birds.

ChelSea

It is quite a lovely drive into such an unusual and unexpected island. The bird ???? sanctuary closes the entrance gate at four so you really need to have the day off to visit. Most of the birds have left by four. All the birds are pretty brave. You can buy bird seed to feed them. I recommend getting more than one bag because they are fairly small and run out fast and the birds seem to expect to be fed. The geese will hiss at you to try and get more food. There are lots of duckling and goslings right now and they will eat right out of your hand. A duck ???? even ate out of my hand. There are also some rare cranes that are a tan/grey with blush heads, they are big and majestic. Make sure you give yourself a few hours to walk around so you can take in all the beauty of the landscape and fowl. Admission is $5 and bird seed is a $1.

Marta Shearer

Really fun place to go to see all kinds of birds. I’ve seen ducks, geese, robins, pigeons, jays, finches, cranes, hawks and sometimes owls. A great place to take your kids for a nice outing in nature.

Michelle m

An amazing place for all ages without incredible walking trails that are well maintained. Lots of variety of bird all which will eat out of your hand of your patient. I love going all seasons to see different animals and colours of leaves.

wei li king

Pretty scenic area! Cheap entry and lots of birds. Mainly duck/wetland birds are easy to spot. Careful of the bird droppings ;)

Mike Lum

A lot of fun. Great way to spend some time with the kids and watch them feed the birds

Tom Kelley

This place is a must for any bird watcher. In the center photo what appears to be a white line of snow is actually snow geese. I watched them as they arrived in flights of 40 or more birds to number in the hundreds.

Stephanie Clement

Well maintained, quiet and lots of birds nice gift shop too

Yvonne Sheane

Lovely experience! We had chickadees and Sand Hill cranes eating from the palm of our hands. So many varieties of birds and well kept and designed paths!

Patel Pankaj

Nice place for birds watching. Quite place. Friendly birds. Good maintenance of park. Worth to visit once you are around Vancouver area. Very low entrance fee. Reach early to avoid public.

Crackedgamer09

This place is really cool specially for the kids, they can fed the ducks and birds along the trails. The tickets are reasonable and parking are free. It gets full pretty quick though specially during summer.

James Aster

Beautiful & serene setting with preservation & rehabilitation of local ecology as primary effort. Fantastic spot to reconnect with your Zen.

Arroyo Spero

A must see for nature lovers if you are in the Vancouver area. It would be easy to spend 3 hours here or even a full day as the sanctuary is quite vast with many points of interest. Huge variety of migratory birds that will only further to increase into the cooler months. There are areas that are flooded with hungry mallards and Canadian geese and also quiet areas which one can really connect with nature. It’s well worth the cost of admission to support wetland conservation. The highlight of my visit was climbing to the top of the tower to get some photos. Much to my surprise a number of small wetland birds were so friendly and came right up to me. I was able to get in a quick visit and hence this review is shorter but I appreciated the full service washrooms before leaving again onto other travels. It is possible to take public transit to south Ladner and walk the 7 KM into the sanctuary on a nice day, this is what I did in an effort to support climate change awareness! All told I walked 25 KM on that beautiful day!!

Rebecca Anderson

Loved it! We got to HAND feed chickadee's and Redwing Blackbirds!! They flew and landed on our hands and my daughter's head! We counted 22 different types of bird's there on 1 Day! Several of them where new to us so we got to check off a lot in our birding app. You can buy bird seed at the gate. The Chickadee's only eat the black raw sunflower seeds. Bring your camera, binoculars, WALKING shoes, snacks and water!

Selina Yang

It's the heaven for bird lovers and photographers. The marsh is beautiful in good weather. I came in spring. Now it's winter. You will find different type of birds in different seasons.

THOMAS

* HiDDEN GEM * Worth Supporting - - Amazing Place 4 Bird Watching. There Is Lots Of Parking But In The Summertime It Gets Very Busy. Admission 4 Adults is $5.00. U Can Buy Bird Seed 4 $ 1.00. I Recommend Buying Some Wild Bird Seed from Your Local Shop. An Incredible Place 2 See all Kinds of Wildlife. The Trails R Well Marked and Maintained. The Wife and I Love This Place - - Lots of Birds and a Relaxing Atmosphere.

Rajdeepsinh Dabhi

I visited this beautiful place last year about this time and I just loved it! ❤❤❤ I hope everything goes back to normal soon after this Covid-19 ends.

porsha

this bird sanctuary is the best i've ever been to. at the front of the park there's a counter where you can get a huge bag of birdseed for only $1. there are a variety of different birds that you can feed but the birds that are 'easier' to feed would be the ducks or geese. got lucky and saw some florida cranes!! the park is huge and great for birdwatching. **you have to book in 24 hrs in advance now because of covid-19**

Libing Cao

During the season when migratory birds stay, this is a very recommendable place, This is also the best place for children to get close to birds. There are ducks, geese, cranes and many others birds. My daughter enjoys the feeling of birds eating on her hand. There are also good trial, which are a good place to walk and exercise. There's a great view tower. From this tower, you can enjoy the view of the sea, the woods and the pond. This is a very recommendable place.

Windy Corduroy Photography

I love this place! I buy a yearly pass, as I don't live too far away. This is a great location for birders, photographers and families. There is quite a variety of different bird species who visit or frequent this sanctuary. Please remember, if you're bringing kids, to teach them to not touch or chase after the ducks. If you see someone being cruel or inhumane, report it to the staff.

Rays Yu

My kids love feeding the bird. It's a great natural walk all year round. In the summer you got to see more type of bird. Entrance fee is reasonable and you could purchase bird feeder at entrance.

Ian

kids love this place, at least ours do. Friendly staff and guests. Nice trails, well kept. Lots of Ducks, Geese, Eagles, etc. You might see an Owl. Manys smaller birds, chickadees that will eat from your hand as well as black birds that will do the same.

Sanjib Dutta

Nice place to go bird-watching with your family. Our kids love feeding the birds out of their hands. Photos © Sanjib Dutta

Brittany Picanco

Beautiful park with lots of birds AND scenery. Staff was helpful. Could spend all day here. Don’t forget to pick up some seed at the counter to feed the duckies, they’ll love you.

Steve

Absolutely beautiful place to spend some time, feed the birds, show some love, and appreciation for an experience like this. The feeling is very peaceful just like all the birds that live here. Come out here, and see how beautiful it is, feed the birds, and watch them. You will see how peaceful it is. Thank you. Steve

Amin Sameni

Thank you to all the people who keep this place great, beautiful and fun. It’s totally a gem. Go there with your friends and family. There’s a very beautiful and easy trail. 2-3 Km based the route you choose. The price is very reasonable even considered as cheap. You can also feed the birds which is verrry fun. They sell bird food but they also allow you to bring yours. You can’t picnic there but it’s perfect for a nice walk. There’s a tower and also a couple of viewpoints which you can take nice photos. A heavenly place for bird watchers

Such a great experience! Probably the most fun I've had with all 3 of my kids who range in ages (2, 5, 8). The best was learning about different types of birds, feeding them and the gorgeous scenery! We will be back during the summer as well - the Sanctuary is a great place to go year-round!

Marc Monforton

Always a great place to take the kids. Bring your own duck food and bird seed.

Jasmine Zhou

My son had so much fun playing in there

Joe Gianoglio

Excellent way to spend a Sunday with the kids without having to break the bank and also educational. We loooove this place!

Kirk Chantraine

Beautiful marshlands and seasonal birds passing through. Have gone in summer and winter - both dramatically different and fun. They also sell bird seed so you can get extra amusement by feeding the birds!

Ayako Eriguchi

Must reserve parking spot online in advance. And then pay admission at entrance. Calm, quiet and peaceful place for a long walk and feel the nature. Even a foggy day I enjoyed it so much!

Liam Steele

Amazing walk, nice staff and of course, the wildlife: during my visit I saw a mink, carp and 66 different kinds of birds!

Iain Johnstone

Great small bird reserve on the Fraser River Delta. Mostly wildfowl, but various raptors and mixed smaller bird species.

Penny Rusty Sophie

Nice (generally quiet) place to check out the birds and wetlands. Make sure to buy some chickadee and duck seed at the entrance. …

bluenailpolish

Beautiful and peaceful, a lovely place to spend the afternoon birdwatching.

A. Burr

Cool place for the family, lots of ducks and juncos. You have to pay admission and you may NOT bring your own feed as off jan 1st 2020, you must purchase on site bird seed/feed.

Richard G.

Great place to visit for bird watching. Place is good size for a nice walk when the weather is good. Kids will definitely enjoy the place. Tip: it's good to bring seeds or others to feed the birds and ducks. You can also buy some bird seeds when you pay your entrance fee.

Selene Jang

Beautiful park and beautiful birds. Totally worth the admission. You can buy a small bag of bird seed or bring your own. We saw cranes, an owl and plenty of ducks, chickadees and Canadian geese. Best part is they come eat right of your hand. Perfect place for animal lovers and kids.

Delshad Fitter

You get to see the various migratory species of birds and get to feed them! It was an exhilarating experience. Perfect for bird photography! We will definitely be getting the membership they offer!

Eloho S. Sido

Awesome place for the family. The pretty birds come eat from your hands. Feeding the ducks and just enjoying nature.

Veronica Valera

Is my third time there, it is a quiet place!!! When I get tired I just take one of the many seats located in front of the water

Mario Anda

Great place for a tranquil walk. You can buy bird feed and have them land and eat out of your hand

Linnea Ritland

I understand the need for a booking system, but the set up is inaccessible. Notes about this on their website are rude and condescending. If you switch to a booking system, expect for staff to have more calls about bookings, and budget accordingly.

Lindsey Leu

So many Mallard ducks waiting to be fed! It's a nice walk and I especially like the scenery by the water. It's much like the Richmond West Dyke. Also saw other types of ducks, bald eagles, herons and a little owl. Chickadees will fly into your hand for seed.

Jackie W

Beautiful and peaceful bird sanctuary. ???????????? Admission $5 per adult $3 for kids 2-12 years old. Wear comfy shoes, bring lots of wild bird feed or buy a small bag there for $1.50. Expect to spend 1.5-2 hours there. Easy flat gravel trails and a few towers and observation decks. I managed to get chickadees and red tip blackbirds to eat from my hand with ease. Saw several duck species, geese, a pair of eagles, Robins, sparrows and squirrels. Some of the geese are hissy and will bite. Great place for families. Parking lot is very congested after 12noon on weekends.

pascal lo

Amazing spot for birdwatching , if not the best in the Greater Vancouver area. It's also a great place to take a peaceful walk because it's away from the vehicles and the birdwatching rules make it a generally quiet and serene place to be.

Ryan Qiu

Nice place to feed birds. $1 per bag of bird food.

Mark Liu

Beautiful outdoor place to walk. Beware of mosquitoes. Wear long sleeves clothes.

Michelle Tranquillo-Talosig

Great place to take friends or family for a walk. Lots of birds to look specially on winter. Dress for the weather if you're visiting, it can be quite cold here since it's close to bodies of water.

M P

Worth supporting, very peaceful. Chickadees feed out of your hand. Spotted an eagle, beaver, misc local and migratory fowl.

N M-H

Wonderful place to go for a walk and see birds. Has something for everyone - from families who want to get outside with their kids to serious birders. Variety of trails, both around ponds and in the trees. And of course, so many birds to see. Best times to go are the migratory season. You'll see ducks, cranes, geese, chickedees are more. You can also buy a bag of seed for $1 and let your kids (or youself) feed the birds.

Shahin Dashtgard

We love this place. Lots of birds and a relaxing atmosphere. It was super busy today, but if you get away from the entrance and watch tower, there are plenty of peaceful areas to hang out and watch birds. Fall and spring are best for seeing a wide variety of birds, but sunny weekends can get really busy!

Mackenzie Jordana

So much fun to go to! The people working there were kind and knowledgeable. Lots of fun if you're interested in nature/wildlife, birds etc. The prices are fair at the gift shop and you can buy your own seed or opt to bring your own (make sure its wild bird seed) You can get fantastic photos of a variety of birds here. The wood ducks are absurdly adorable. Although forewarning for people that are terrified of geese - there are a LOT. They'll follow you around and at most hiss, they aren't truly aggressive or anything. If you walk towards them, they waddle away. So cute!

Jeff Francis

Fantastic value for the experience. There were lots of birds, the paths were well maintained... I think I'll be coming back here at least once every season.

Bruce Voss

Didn’t go in as they were not open advertised hours. Wah! BUT wait, there’s more! Next time I just have to plan things better and get there at least 2 hour before they close so I can go and have a look around. It would be good if they said they close at 3 though. But now I know how to get there at least. And something about reservations too... Enjoy!

105 Hikes: B.C. Guidebooks by Stephen Hui

The birding hot spot of the Lower Mainland. Always a hoot.

Katrine Konopnicki

It's a beautiful place with lots of walking paths. There are some interesting birds that frequent the area. Unfortunately (or fortunately) you can feed the birds here. This means lots of mallards, Canada geese, red winged black birds, sparrows, and spotted towhees. There are lots of birds who nest in the sanctuary and they manage their wetlands so there are lots of species too. It's a nice day out for both serious birders and families.

Arsalan Butt

Fantastic to spend hours at with or without kids. Lots of photo opportunities. I even won a viewer's choice award for one of my hummingbird photographs (attached) I made at one of the sanctuary's feeders. I believe this place is run by volunteers including the staff at the gate. Other than just one time, I have always been greeted with a smile from the nice lady at the main counter for the last 5 years! The one time the front desk staff was rude to me, I am sure the person was having a bad day. I have not seen the same person there before or after that day either so must be someone not used to being there. They have picnic tables as well if you want to bring your lunch. Please don't feed the ducks in the parking lot area!

Leigh Ratcliff

The George C Reifel Bird Sanctuary is one of my favourite things to do on a weekend. During spring and fall you can see lots of migratory birds but all year long there is a wonderful array of birds to see. It is a peaceful place to be. Bring the kids and buy some seed – they will love to feed the ducks.

M Nguyen

Amazing place for bird watching! Admission for adults is $5 and strong advise you to purchase the bird food for $1 It is illegal to fly drones here The trail can be muddy if it recently rained so be mindful of what shoes to wear Great spot to bring families and it’s a really enjoyable experience!

Simon Benne

Beautiful nature area. Lots of birds, also special ones. Ideal area for a relaxing walk.

Constantin Sirbu

Great place for a walk. Most of the birds are too far away to be seen well with a cell phone camera so it would be a good idea to bring some DSLR camera with a high optical zoom.

Cherry Cheng

Great Covid activity! Lots of space to distance, and stay outdoors. $5 entry for adults, and $1 for a pack of seeds. Don't miss the tower! Can't speak to variety of birds since I'm not a keen bird watcher but we had fun feeding the ducks and geese, and the area was beautiful to walk through. Make sure to RESERVE online during covid!

Celeste Munger

Great place to come for a nature walk. Check their website for notices about conditions. If the parking lot fills up, they close the gate. You can buy a small bag of birdseed to feed birds bit cannot bring your own. The ducks are very bold and fun for kids to feed (not fearful of children). There is a small picnic area and there are washrooms at the trail head. Very flat and well maintained trails, but there are some tree roots, so keep your eyes peeled for tripping hazards if you are prone to falls. Very affordable family outing.

Guo Ying

I like the canadian geese and all kinds of migratory birds here very much. When the bird flew to my hand to eat feed, it was very pleasant and interesting.

Tiffany Huang

Beautiful and fun for the whole family. We saw mostly ducks and chickadees (bring or buy some seeds to feed them!). But we did also see some big herons, a crane, and a trumpeter swan! I'm looking forward to coming back during different seasons to see new birds!

Cindy Holder

Very easy walking trails and lots of information. We didn't go at the best time for migratory birds but still saw lots. Quite busy on the weekend, though, so be aware

Garth L.

Such a special place to see birds and be one with nature. You can hand feed ducks and chickadees, so special for adults and kids.

Donna Rolls

Great place to bring the kids for a nature walk. They loved feeding the ducks. Reasonable entrance price and bird feed.

Christopher Entereso

Great place. There's a fee but it's cheap. It wasn't crowded at all when I visited.

Kalpki Gebert

Fantastic! Got my family year pass today. Can't wait to return.

Mike

We go there at least 4 or 5 times a year and every time there is something different to see. It is a visual wonder every time. If your lucky and there when the chicks are all about it's a real treat. I really enjoy watching the baby wood ducks. A must see place for the bird lovers and to bring kids.

Betty I

Took my grandkids ages 9 and 11 and we all had a great time. Not very many but did feed Redwing Blackbirds and Black Capped Chickadees on our hands. Saw one family of ducks and geese with babies. Take raw peanuts and sunflower seeds for Blackbirds and Chickadees.

Thalia Barrett

An awesome place to go for a walk and learn about birds! Feed is only a few bucks and it is so fun to feed the birds :)

Danny Chak

We took our grandchildren to see the birds. After buying a bag of seeds, all the ducks, swan and birds followed us Kids had a blast for the afternoon visit.

S Gin

Great outing, especially if you have kids, and of course if you enjoy birding. We have been numerous times, and really enjoy the walk and feeding the birds. The switch to online reservations for parking has been pretty easy to use, and it is a much nicer experience now having the crowds spaced out throughout the day. Perhaps obvious to most, be sure to wear closed toe, comfortable shoes. We saw quite a few people in sandals the other day - not a good idea with all of the bird poo around on the dirt/gravel pathways!

Adrienne Morrow

Outstanding place to spend time. I purchased an annual pass and am looking forward to seeing all the different species that stop in throughout the year!

Michelle Soo

So many birds to see, low admission, worth every penny...

Maria Bernardo

Very poor reservation system. Need to book 24 hours before, but can only book 3 days ahead of time. So thought I’d booked this, but obviously hadn’t since I was turned away at the front gate. Since you have to book 24 hours before, they wouldn’t let us in despite being empty. Watched at the gate, and 80% hours of cars were turned away for the same reason. So all of us drove to the end of the world just to have to turn around and drive home even though there’s almost no one here at a huge outside bird sanctuary.

Tasha L

Fantastic place to spend the day with the family. Recommend buying at least 3 bags of bird seed when you pay for admission, it goes fast! Lots to see, beautiful walk, even when the parking lot is full, the sanctuary doesn't feel busy because of its immense size.

Bryan Pilien

Great place to visit with kids. Hundreds of birds that are used to being around people so they dont fly away when you get close. They sell bags of bird feed at the front entrance for $1, and one bag lasted the kids about 30 mins. There are a lot of mosquitoes here in the summer, so wear insect repellent.

Patrick Crawford

This is one of the best places to see birds anywhere in the BC lower mainland, especially waterfowl. Common waterfowl, such as Mallards and Canada Geese, can be seen year round. Many migratory species either nest within the sanctuary or pass through on their spring and/or fall migrations. Depending on the time of year you might see Coots, various Merganser species, Wood Duck, Sandhill Cranes, Great Horned Owls, Saw Whet Owls, Barred Owls, various Swallow species, and many others. A great place to visit with children as they can feed the ducks using seed purchased upon entry to the sanctuary.

Tony Ng

This Bird Sanctuary is run by a non-profit organization. The visitors have to pay admission fees for visiting this facility, but it is totally worth it. Admission fee to adults is $5, $3 for children. There are lots of visitors during weekends, however parking spaces are more than sufficient. Currently during your visit, you may find lots of ducklings and different species of birds. I guess couple weeks later, you may find babies of swallow as well. Very much recommend this place to young families, you will never find disappointed about this place.

Debbie Watson

The trails are fantastic! They all weave around the water. We were blessed to see a Sandhill crane family! The paths are edged with beautiful wild flowers. The cost is minimal to enter. Love this place!

Mathew Anderson

This place is a zen area for myself the birds the nature the peace and quiet the water everything is beautiful there

Wren Peters

Admission for adults is $5, gate closes at 4pm. Birds are always more active in the morning, so I recommend coming early. ???? Etiquette reminders: Please leave your buckets and extra large Ziplock bags of seed at home, and be conservative with feeding. There is no need for everyone who comes through to have bags of seed. Geese are a bit territorial, so it’s best to give them some breathing room if you’re going to feed them. Please also help your kids to enjoy these spaces by encouraging soft voices and walking slowly. ????????????

Josh Levinson

Great place to go for a nice nature walk to check out some awesome birds. There are some great opportunities for bird photography, but the only problem is the place is only opens at 9am and closes at 5pm, so you can't really access it while the light is ideal for photography (just after sunrise / just before sunset), except maybe in winter.

Sandee Towers

Love it here such a nice walk and seeing, feeding all the birds, wonderful!

S. Li

What a fun place to step away from the city, and enjoy seeing the diverse variety of birds at the sanctuary. We saw various species of ducks, birds, eagles, and even owls. We especially enjoyed sitting in the viewing cabin where we can watch birds without being seen. Highly recommend for tourists and locals alike!

Megan McKenzie

Lovely place, with a wide variety of birds! I was able to snag a spot on their online booking system, and I had a wonderful time. It was not crowded at all, and I never felt uncomfortable. I really must commend them their covid set up, its one of the best I've experienced!

Caroline Foster

Had an absolutely fun experience with the birds there..eating out of our hands and loves every minute of it. The staff are knowledgeable and very friendly!!!

Christy Ho

This place is wonderful for all ages. My toddler had a blast feeding the ducks. My dad had a great time taking photos of birds and hummingbirds (by the bathroom). Kids under 2 are free, stroller friendly and clean bathroom. You have lots of ducks to feed just by the entrance, or can easily spent over an hr walking the trails.

Tracy Slack-Sims

Best days are spent here with my grandson & the ducks ❤️

Julie Wong

I enjoyed my visit here very much. It's very scenic here with long stretches of cat tails, and trees, best of all people are quiet and respect of the area. So many different birds come by this area, that I'd rarely see in the Greater Vancouver area. There's always something to see at different times of the year.

Alberta Rose

Fabulous place to visit! Exceptional walking paths. Easy to sight many types of birds. A hidden gem!!

Jenni-lynn Hadley

Had a great time there today. Staff friendly. Parking great. Reservation system worked well. The trails are marked well. Still have a lot more to explore for next time. The seasonal info was helpful for us to plan our next trip (what type of birds to expect during each season etc). We will definitely be back!

Sohail Sumrani

So many birds. It was amazing. And ducks everywhere. Good to feed them. Get birdseed at the entrance gate.

manjinder nanrey

Its very calm a quite area, excellent to bring your family and kids. This is the time you will find alot of birds as it is migration season. The sanctuary is very big, about 3 sq km.

Noreen Rudd

A bird-watching treasure, we usually see 40 - 50 species in a morning. As a result of Covid19 restrictions, you must make a reservation. There is no word on when this policy may revert to their previous policy which did not require reservations.

John Irving

A little bit out of the way but well worth the drive. A lovely flat walk of about 2.5 kilometres, lots of parking. Bring more bird seed than you think you will need. There are so many migrating birds! You will feed bunches of ducks and geese, little finches will eat out of your hands. The ducks will get quite excited and swarm you. It is very fun. Great for kids. Do not bring dogs!

Scott Gue

A bit ridiculous to have a reserve system during a weekday when traffic is low. I appreciate what these guys do though.

Mauro Sugawara

A must go for the wildlife enthusiastics!! We went on a rainy winter day, surprisingly we saw many different species! There is seeds for sale in the entrance, which the ducks love, but many birds don't like it. Some visitors brought their own mix of bird food (eg, rice, sunflower seeds).

Morgan E

Amazing how different it is here from Vancouver. Silent, other than the birds. So peaceful. A really lovely place to go for a walk by yourself, or with the family. Kids have a ton of fun feeding the birds! They offer regular bags of seed $1 each, seeds for smaller birds for $2, and admission is $5 for adults, last I remember. Excellent place for birdwatchers and photographers.

Jason Hanson (Jay)

Always love going there! If you go take a camera and some gear with you as you'll want to take some close up shots. Don't go until after Thanksgiving and keep going till about March as that's the best time to see all the birds.

Susan Travers Jones

We enjoyed a bird-filled three hours at the sanctuary today. Parking is plentiful and free and once out of the car you're immediately surrounded by ducks. At the entry you can purchase feed for the ducks and the chickadees for just a dollar a bag. Don't miss out on getting a couple of bags as the residents of the refuge are eagerly looking forward to your handout. The paths lead past numerous ponds and the center also has a viewing tower. We are not 'birders' but did see about 15 to 20 different species of birds, including a variety of ducks, heron, sandhill cranes, geese and lots others. Admission is inexpensive and certainly worthwhile as it supports the maintenance and preservation of this essential habitat.

Mariam Patel

Spent three hours there and still felt like we could spend more time there without feeling bored. Such a serene environment with lots of birds to see. The best part for me is the ducks! They waddle up to you in hoardes and make lots of funny sounds!

Jen B

I can't believe I've never been here before! REALLY peaceful & beautiful. Great place to enjoy some sunshine & feed the birds. It was a wonderful experience having geese and ducks eating out of your palm. Lots of walking trails, gorgeous landscape, especially if you go on a sunny day! Recommend for children & bird watchers.

Don Lansberry

One of the best bird watching areas around. Buy some birdseed at the gift shop, no bread. Most of the birds here will eat out of your hand, even the Sand Hill Cranes (hold very still). I found the Wood Ducks to be a bit skittish though. The trails are flat, graveled (mostly) and cover most of the habitat here. They are also wheelchair accessible. There were some in the gift shop for visitor use. I was told that electric mobility scooters/wheelchairs were also OK, not bikes or kids toys though (should be obvious). Bring a camera (telephoto lenses are common here) and some binoculars or a spotting scope. There is a picnic area next to the parking lot. They don't sell food here so plan accordingly. Also, come early as parking can be a challenge on busy days.

Dimitry Zakharov

$5 adult admission. You can easily spend 3 hours there. Just a great walk with beautiful landscapes. Also, there are birds. Buy the bird seed at the entrance and go feed some birds. Don't be afraid to feed the ducks AND geese striaght out of your hand. The geese are a bit rougher but they don't actually bite. They hiss but don't pay attention to that. They just aren't careful at eating the seed out of your hand. You can also see a variety of birds including cranes, storks, and a variety of other smaller migratory species. Cranes will also eat out of hand - very slowly and very carefully.

Erin W

Amazing experience and such a wide variety of birds, many of which will even approach you as you observe them. Unparalleled photo opportunities. Will be back. Some paths are suitable for those with mobiltiy issues and strollers. Be prepared for a lot of walking and wear good footwear.

Tim Tjosvold

What a fantastic place!!! So many birds and many will surround you to eat what you give them. I had 3 redwing blackbirds and 2 pigeons on, or around, my arm and hand, all going for the seed in my hand. So fun! FANTASTIC!!!

Anita W.

Beautiful place to reconnect with nature and birdwatch. We have an annual family membership and come regularly. Friendly, knowledgable staff.

Victor Yeung

A wonderful place to visit. Lots of birds. You may pick up some birdseed for the birds (ducks, red-wing blackbirds etc) from Safeway, Dollarama or a pet shop before you go.

Keith Isaac

Always enjoy coming here and feeding the birds. Really unhappy about the change not allowing you to bring your own bird seed. I'm ok paying the 5 bucks to get in but why do I also have to pay for seed. Let people bring in their own seed!

Travis Gingerich

Was here on Family Day - I arrived just before the gates opened, where there were about half a dozen other cars eager to get in as well. Enjoyed a solid hour of very peaceful meandering and photo-taking along the trails before the crowds hit in force, and then it became a bit of a zoo. That said, the general feel of the place, even when crowded, is quite family-friendly with plenty of ducks to feed and songbirds to admire. The staff are incredibly friendly and the place has a really down-to-earth vibe, even if the attractions like to have their heads in the clouds.

Tom Hu

Super fun place to watch and feed the birds. The nature walk is also very fun for the kids. Price is $5 per adult and $3 for kids and seniors. They won't let you enter after 4pm, but you have up to 5pm before they close the gate. The family really loves the place and we'll definitely come again

Joanna Welch

Loved it Happy to see the 3 month old Sandhill crane

charles harris (chaahlie)

Fun place that has a variety of birds that will eat seed from your hands. There is a fee to enter and they have some art for sale in the gift shop as well.

Pam Rowlands

A beautiful day! Haven't been here since I was a child and it was lots of fun.

Yan Huang

Birds tweeted and whispered along the way.

Salty Wet Reefer

I wished there were more birds to see. The only one that stood out for me were the cranes and the hummingbirds. Canada geese and ducks you can find anywhere in Canada. Bit pricey, but the seeds were cheap at $1 per bag.

FEI DAI

Funny ducks! Children's heaven, remember buy food in ticket office.

Shannon WhatsHerFace

We love visiting the Bird Sanctuary! Lots of free parking & the paths are well kept so it is wheelchair/walker friendly. You can buy bird seed & the ducks will instantly become your best friend! Many varieties of ducks, birds, herons, geese & often eagles too. It's beautiful there. There's also a neat little gift shop (with some snacks & drinks too). But please remember not to feed the birds any bread! It isn't good for them!!
