Here you will be able to see the reviews of real people like you who bought the services and products of Yukon Wildlife Preserve (Zoo) near to the area of Dawson Creek (Canada).
To this day this firm receives a score of 4.7 stars out of 5 and that score has been based on 127 reviews.
As you can see its rating is basically the best one, and it's based on a very large number of feddbacks, so we may conclude that the assessment is quite reliable. If many people have bothered to rate when they've done well with the business, it works.
You know that we don't usually bother to put evaluations when these are good and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or issue...
This Zoo is classified in the category of Wildlife refuge.
Great location everyone should see this place. The only draw back is very hard to see all the animals as they are huge pens. Great that they work hard to realse all the injured animals back to the wild.
Such a good place to enjoy landscape and meet some wild animals such as a mountain goat and moose.
(Translated) From March 20th to 26th, 2006, I went to Whitehorse, the capital of the Yukon Territory in northern Canada, saying, "I want to see the northern lights at once." Before going out, there was information that it had cooled down to minus 42 degrees Celsius, so I imagined traveling in the frigid cold and went to the local White Horse via Vancouver. The White Horse is said to have been named because the White Horse rapids look like the mane of a white horse, and is famous for its natural parks and beautiful scenery, as well as the northern lights. In the daytime, we enjoyed the Yukon Wildlife Preserve, the Yukon Museum, and the dog sledding experience of the team participating in the dog sledding race called Yukon Quest. I waited for the aurora to appear while bonfire in the tent, and I was able to see and shoot the aurora for the first time over the days. Had a fantastic time walking the trail. Trail was well kept and had great views of all the animals. Staff was friendly and helpful. Loved the antler selfie-station. Super cute! Only suggestion: would have appreciated a warning that the back loop had a pretty big hill! Could the elevation be marked on the walking map?
Fantastic love it here coming back next with my camper yahoo

(Translated) The ideal time of visit is at 1 in the afternoon, just the hour of food of the animals and they leave with greater facility to see them since they wait to be fed. The place is very nice and the animals look healthy and cared for. You can travel on foot or as in certain cases by car, the minimum duration of the tour is one hour and a half if you stop to contemplate each space of the reservation (Original) La hora ideal de visita es a la 1 de la tarde, justo la hora de comida de los animales y salen con mayor facilidad para verlos ya que esperan ser alimentados. (Translated) This place is beautiful and has great wide spaces to see the animals. It is basically a zoo only with large areas for animals. The species you can see are so varied but it depends a lot on whether the animals are visible, as in any zoo. In reality, being a reserve, the number or type of animals can vary since one week they may have an eagle that is recovering and the other one no longer because it has finished its rehabilitation. You can go alone without the need for a tour, however it is advisable to hire a tour because the guides explain things that you could hardly know. The downside is that you are at the mercy of the guide's times.

Amazing experience!
Great Wildlife Preserve. Animals have a lot of space are healthy and well cared for.
Very nice trail with beautiful wildlife.
A bit chilly in the winter, but the self guided tour offered many photo opportunities!
I love this place!! And the people taking care of it. They are friendly and knowledgeable.
Great time, great tour.
Beautiful place to visit. Wirth every cent.
Great place to see some wild animals, huge space for animals, and they have been well taken care of. It’s educational and fun; perfect for family activities or wildlife pictures
Enjoyed walking around the park, spent hours looking at animals in a very natural setting, lots of room to roam.
Totally worth the trip!
Very interesting to see animals in a very natural setting and native to the area that you may not see otherwise. Be prepared to walk it's about 5km to walk the park
Traveled for 2 weeks in Yukon and only saw 3 bears and 100 squirrel's. Very happy to see the variety of animals that live in the Yukon in 1.5 hours. Well looked after park.
Arguably the best nature walk of my life. Great scenic trail and many animals which makes this an experience not to be missed in Whitehorse
The wildlife here is amazing. All the animals have heaps of room to roam around in but are all very accessible for viewing. Great spot to see wildlife if you can't find them on nature.
Amazing bus tour. A must see.
Lots of cold climate wild animals!
Not what I was expecting. And it was a bit expensive for what it is
(Translated) It is a very beautiful place with a very noble work of sheltering species of animals for their preservation, they have species that can hardly be seen in countries like Mexico which makes it a very interesting place. (Original) Es un lugar muy bonito con una labor muy noble de refugiar especies de animalitos para su preservación, cuentan con especies que difícilmente se pueden ver en países como México lo cual lo hace un lugar muy interesante.
Definitely better during summer! You can see more of the animals
Friendly staff, and very nice for a couple hours of walking on a Sunday afternoon - been in both summer and winter. Pretty sporadic views of the animals deepening when you go.
You can see different animals, but not too many...
Walk, don't take the bus tour. It's a beautiful walk and then you can stop and enjoy the animals at your own pace. Would recommend!
Seeing the animals with plenty of space to avoid a "zoo" feeling is wonderful.
Excellent way to enjoy Yukon wildlife without disturbing them in the wild. Child-friendly.
Beautiful!
Absolutely an amazing place to visit. I have no complaints. I come here every time I visit Whitehorse. They take wonderful care of the animals and I love how they strive to ensure that the animals live how they're supposed to in the wild. The animals show obvious signs of gratitude to be living there, rescued or not. I love the story of how the owner started the preserve. Overall MUST see when coming to Whitehorse. Amazing to visit during all 4 seasons. Also, the hot springs are right beside it!
Great place to visit. If you don't see them hiking and driving, catch them all here.
Wonderful experience at the Yukon Wildlife Preserve. I was able to see so many different northern animals. Moose is my favourite. Recommend booking the bus guided tour or you can walk around the preserve (~5km)
Beautiful place, very well kept. A bit pricey, but I'm happy the money goes to a good cause. Will definitly come back
Wonderful experience and opportunity to see animals who are being preserved and rehabilitated. We chose the bus tour and our guide was extremely friendly, funny and very knowledgeable. We got the full Yukon experience with all the snow - I'm glad we made this apart of our trip! Thank you for sharing this beautiful land with us visitors.
Such a great place to spend half a day. I took my 19 month old daughter and my cousin (who was visiting from down south) and both of them loved it. My daughter saw lots of animals close up and had lots of room to run around and explore. My cousin, an amateur photographer, was able to take hundreds of great pictures. The 5K loop is enjoyable but still requires enough effort to make it feel like a decent walk. Can't wait for an excuse to go back.
We visited on Yukon Days - free addmission, BBQ lunch and lots of guests. It was great, interpretation tours were very informative, and most animals cooperated????
Must visit here
If you like taking pictures this place won't disappoint. Lots of photo ops to be had. The animals all appear healthy and the enclosures are huge. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Makes for a nice walk. A definite experience not to miss if visiting Whitehorse and surrounds.
I saw animals here that was just possible in national geographic documentary. The work they do here to reintegrate the animals into the wild is amazing. Is a place that you must visit, really.
One of the best place in Yukon. Huge animals and kind staff
Great Family Activity One can either take the tour or walk the property. We've done the YWP twice with the family and as weather in the spring and fall can be unpredictable having the shuttle aids in keeping everyone happy. Make sure to bring your camera lots of wildlife to see in open enclosures.

All the Yukon wildlife fixins' in one place. The full park is a long walk, but there's a tour bus available.
Excellent place to visit when visiting Whitehorse. It is worth it. We booked the private guided tour of Yukon Wildlife Preserve. Preserve also offer their bus tours with tour guide. Our guide picked us at the resort and drove us here. When we came here, the temperature was around -10 to -15 degrees celsius. So come prepared for cold weather. It took us about 2-3 hours for whole tour, which was enough time to stop and take pictures. When we couldn't stand the cold, we used to ran back into the minivan to warm up. Our guide was knowledgable and explained us the interesting facts about every single animal there. She also shed some light on how some of the animals were rescued. Almost all the animals made an appearance. We saw elks, several moose, bisons, mule deer, muskox, red fox, caribou, mountain goats, arctic fox, thinhorn sheep and lynx. The Preserve looked really beautiful when covered in snow. This place is also wildlife rehab facility, they take care of injured animals/birds and once they are all healed up and recovered, Preserve release them back to the wild into their world. Great Place and definitely recommend!!!

Great tour and a good price! Check it out!
Amazing place to see animals native to the Yukon. Massive acreage devoted to Bison, Moose, Mountain Sheep, Caribou. Not to be missed if you visit Whitehorse in the Yukon Territory.

A truly wonderful way to spend an afternoon walking, skiing, or snow biking and getting a close up appreciation of these beautiful animals.
It was just too cold, but would have been an interesting experience to walk the whole park.
Great place to stop at
(Translated) This is a wild animal breeding area with no beasts. There are only native creatures such as elk, goats, red fox and musk deer. Tourists can take a tour bus or walk along the road to visit. The park is very large and the natural environment is preserved. Animals have enough space to move around and can breed offspring. I took the bus tour and it was awesome. We got to see all of the animals there and the tour guide was very descriptive and answered all of the questions. There is lots of land and they do very well at keeping all of the practices "natural".
Nice way to spend a few hours
A nice walk through the park, and plenty of opportunities to see several animals specific to the region.
Very disappointed Some enclosure are very small for such animals..... They don't change enclosure during the year so animals just stay all life long in the same tiny place. Similar to a zoo so I would definitely never go back.
Great place to see regional wildlife and take a pleasant stroll. Be sure to get a membership.
They really look after these rescues. Great walk. Peaceful and pleasant.
Great place to see unique wildlife that is not caged but left in its simulated natural habitat. Hosts are nice and friendly. Recommend the tour.
Good place
(Translated) Various animals are quite large (compared to the zoo), and if you have a nice day, it's also great for trekking. There is also a bus but we walked slowly and took a little over 2 hours (to watch) …

Great place!
So many animals to see! There were quite a few, with a great view. The hike was great and the panels were very informative and well designed.
You can take the bus ride they offer, but walking the park is a great 5k walk. The bus gives you a tour guide that will give you color commentary. Walking is great because you can linger and take more photos. The elks smell real bad!
Wonderful place to see some animals up close. The animals there are rehabilitated back for the wild, or kept if they are unable to do so. Our guide Johanna was very knowledgeable and had many great stories to tell that relate to the animals and history of the first nations people.
Incredible start to any trip exploring the Yukon - I learned a ton from the guided bus tour guide, who was knowledgeable, friendly and passionate about the animals here and in the Yukon in general. The bus tour is worth every penny for the guide and if you're still interested, you can walk around afterwards as well. Coming here on your Yukon trip will really help frame your understanding of the region's natural history.
This was a great outing. We found all the species except the red fox. No shortage of them around Whitehorse anyway! Lucky enough to see the sweet baby bison.
I had a lovely tour provided by Joelle. She was informative and had a great sense of humour.
Great environment for the animals
Interesting selection of local animals. Could use some enclosures to protect the humans from the wind. Come well dressed!
Such a cool spot. You cannot bring pets on the trail however. It's a nice area to walk around, see wildlife and have some beautiful views.
Great stop in Whitehorse. We needed to use our wheelchair accessible vehicle - you just have to call ahead so they can be prepared to let you drive your own vehicle. We were lucky enough to have our own staff member ride with us along the way. She was very knowledgable.

Lots of opportunity to see local grazing animals. The park walk is lengthy at 5km with many beautiful viewpoints. Only complaint is the lack of predator animals (no bears or wolves).
Walk, don't take the bus tour. It's a beautiful walk and then you can stop and enjoy the animals at your own pace. Would recommend!
(Translated) Very beautiful moment spent in the park where you can see several different species: caribou, elk, deer, foxes etc. To go around, you can walk on a path that is 5 km long and is very easy. Alternatively, you can take a bus that will take you around (at an additional cost) Keep in mind: it is not always easy to see animals because their spaces can be very large. (Original) Très beau moment passé par le parc où vous pouvez voir plusieurs espèces différentes : caribous, élan, biches, renards etc. Pour faire le tour, vous pouvez marcher sur un chemin qui fait 5km et qui se fait très facilement. Great preserve, we walked the 5km loop. We really took our time and spent 4 hours there, which allows us to take lots of pictures. There is a bus tour at 3pm if you don't want to walk. There is a little bit snow, but really easy walk. Great place, I recommend, only 25mn from Whitehorse
Amazing!
Absolutely a must to visit. Wildlife efforts are very appreciated and definitely a good place to be supported. More like this are needed across Canada.
(Translated) Handsome (Original) Hermoso
I was there when the staff were feeding the animals. I found that the staff were very respectful of the animals. And in return, I believe the animals respected the staff. I also found the staff very knowledgeable.
Awesome
Great place to go to see the natural wildlife and take a nice long walk
Amazing experience and guided tour full of information about the wildlife preserve houses. Must go as it is not a zoo and you are paying for the treatment to rehabilitate the animals.
Those horns are heavier than I expected!
Many wildlife to see. Very beautiful place, even in the dead of winter
(Translated) Handsome (Original) Hermoso
So many animals and such wonderful scenery! It was gorgeous!
Great time, Los of animals. Be sure to take the bus tour
An amazing place to see the beautiful wildlife of northern Canada
It is in my opinion a glorified zoo with a beautiful location. The animals are all fenced in with limited space to move. The animals looked healthy and well managed. It takes about an hour or so to view them. You can walk, easy hike,or take a bus tour with a guide. I recommend the walk unless you have difficulty walking. The bus does stop and all animals are easily visible. If you do want to see such a wide variety in a small space this would be a place to go. Adequate parking - not much of food - some soft drinks. Easy drive from White Horse.
Real live animals
Fantastic wildlife viewing in a non-zoo environment. Nice to see animals in their real habitat
This was amazing, the bus tour was more costly but so worth it, we had a driver offering his experience and will stop anytime if we want a photo. It was cold and windy so we were so glad about the bus idea, saw so many well looked after animals that are rescued. If you can make sure you check this place out. Oh didn’t know bison rub against the trees and kill the trees off many things we learned here
Loved it. We had a lovely walk around in the snow. A great selection of animals graciously came out to have their photos taken. The staff was very friendly.

Awesome to get up close to these animals!
We got there a little bit towards the end of the day, but still managed to see everything. Great spot.
This place is fantastic, one of the best sanctuaries/nature preserves I've been to. The animals all seem happy and healthy, and retain their natural behaviours. Seeing a lynx mother and kitten was such a highlight. Lyndsey gave me and a film crew a 2-day tour of the facility and was very knowledgable and friendly. Thanks for the great experience!
It's great! Wonderful! The beat place for meet wildlife
Wonder walk and great place to see. If you are in whitehorse for a visit, make sure you go! I didnt take the bus tour and chose to walk, and was very worth doing so. Adorable animals, and I will have to come back to take the bus tour next time I visit.
Was lucky to arrive 15 minutes before the last bus tour of the day. The tour guide was extremely informative and she tried her best to make sure we were able to see all the animals. Unfortunately the moose were hiding from us that day and we could not even see an ear poking out. Overall good experience. Would recommend to check out if you are visiting Whitehorse.

This place is huge. Iconic Yukon animals and friendly guides. I hear CBC will have a documentary about this place in early 2022. Check it out.

Our guide provide informative and educational information on all the animals in the preserve. The park had permanent information panels if your not visiting with a guide. Would recommend a visit if you have a few hours spare whilst in Whitehorse
(Translated) What a spectacular place and animals in their habitat! Impressive the work that is done there. In winter you MUST take the truck ride. Lots of interesting wildlife. Informative signs - even better if you do the bus tour, as the staff are very knowledgeable and have great stories about the animals. See elk, bison, mule deer, moose, sheep, mountain goats, caribou, lynx, foxes, and muskoxen! Beautiful scenery, too! If you're local, definitely worth the annual pass. Good value!

(Translated) Parking available just before entering the park. Price a bit 'high in my opinion. However it has a lot of different animals and fences up to enough degrees for the animals. But still not too large, thus allowing the easy visibility of the animal inside. The ride is a double ring of about 3km. (Original) Parcheggio a disposizione appena prima di entrare nel parco. Nice quiet spot for a walk and a great chance to see some animals up close
We'll run facility. Good walks. Animals are visible but in natural habitats. Always a good time for the family winter or summer!

welcoming staff, easy to navigate tour, good exercise if you decide to walk it.
I had a private guided tour of this Wildlife Preserve which is perfect during this raging Omicron strain. When I came here, the temperature was -39 degrees celsius so make sure if you do come here in winter, check the temperature carefully before coming. Fortunately for us, we were in our minivan so when we couldn't withstand the cold, we quickly ran back into the minivan to warm up and hide. We managed to catch a view of the bisons, moose, mountain goats, sheep, caribou, all the herbivores, but the carnivores were hiding from us and we did not manage to see the snow fox, nor the lynx. I guess with the moose so close, it was a great day. You can do your own walking tour but this place is huge so be prepared to spend at least half a day walking and be really prepared for the weather should it dip to really cold temperatures. We met a few hikers (visitors) and they got lost a little which is quite normal. Bring your phone and make sure it's fully charged and warm (else the battery will freeze and stop working). All in all you can really have a great time here to see the animals and see how they adapt to the different seasons. This place also has a rehab facility so it's really doing a great job. A must to visit if you love wildlife and outdoors.
A way to see the animals you missed, and visit other favourites. You can walk round or take the bus tour, we did both. Musk-ox, unbelievable.

You can see many wild animals, but DSLR Camera is essential for taking pictures.
Not a very big place, but you can definitely see the animals running in a very comfortable and spacious place for them. They do an amazing work of recovering and taking the animals back to nature. You can do a 2~3h30 walk or do everything by bus at an irrelevant additional cost. I recommend doing the walk, but take some water if you're doing it during summer
We had a great time at the wildlife preserve. Overall was a 5km walk to check out many wild animals. We saw some bison, moose, deer, elk... and arctic fox!! We spent almost 2 hours walking and taking our time on a clear sunny day. Would definitely come back.
This place is so beautiful. If you can't see animals walking around and want to, make sure to visit. They take super good care of the animals and they have a lot of beautiful species. The walk is nice or you could take the bus around.
Great place to take your kids.
Great place to see all sorts of local wildlife
Very knowledgeable and friendly staff, I highly recommend taking the guided bus tour as it gives you the opportunity to learn from the guide about the history of the preserve and about the animals.

Lots of animals that are given tons of space to roam around! Tour guide was very knowledgeable with lots of interesting facts. Great for children as it doubles as a learning experience.
This is a really cool place. I learned so much and saw some animals I had never heard of before like the Musk Ox, amazing. You just jump on the bus and enjoy the ride and the view. Well worth a visit, friendly helpful staff, clean toilets there.
Stunning view they give us. Amazing.
We walked but I think the tour guide on the bus is better for minimal extra. 5km walk was very cold.
Spent 2.5 hours walking through the preserve. Was lucky enough to catch the fox and muskox feeding
Love the little tour and made quite a few stops for us to take pictures
Interesting look at arctic animals.

The preserve is set up to easily walk in about 2 hours. The majority of animals enjoy your visit and are very near the fence. There are so many animals to visit in their own environment which changes as you go through the preserve.

Outstanding!! A must be visited in a trp to Whitehorse
The bus tour is so worth it, especially in the winter. For $25 you get the bus to take you around and a very informative guide, the whole tour is about 1.5 hours and the bus stops at every site to allow you to take pictures. Highly recommend to visit this place if you're in Yukon.
Great place to see some animals.
Nice 5 KM walk with lots of wildlife to see. As much as I hate zoos, the enclosures in the Yukon Wildlife Preserve are huge. If you don't feel like walking there is a bus available.
Favourite place in the whole world!!!!
Beautiful place to visit!
I could see few animals. And some of they are visible far.
Great place to see some of the wild animals in very natural habitat, that you could otherwise go a lifetime without glimpsing. Do great work for injured wildlife.
Such a fun way to spend the day!
Its an amazing place to spend an afternoon in Whitehorse. You will get to know all the animals found in the Yukon region, plus if you take a guided tour you will also get to know about how some of the animals were rescued.Overall very nice an informative place.
Awesome little get away for a day trip. Take the guided bus tour for more knowledge or walk the routes and get out for the day.
This place is amazing! We were fortunate enough to see all the animals and even had a moose follow us for part of our walk. The staff we're friendly and knowledgeable, I would go back for sure! We did the 5km loop, and it was more than worth it to experience the animals.
Awesome!

Very cool experience seeing wildlife up close. All the animals seem to be well taken care of. The tour guides were great at helping spot some of the animals too.
Always something interesting to see here!
Amazing staff. Well cared for animals
Absolutely wonderful. Saw my fist ever lynx here. Such a great place to be in the beautiful chilly weather.

Our tour of the preserve - with a knowledgable guide from Arctic Range Adventures - was fantastic! We learned a lot about the animals that inhabit the north, and it was very special seeing them face-to-face in this lovely setting.
Fun place to check out the animals!
(Translated) It's so fun to see wild animals like this (Original) 野性動物がこんなに見れるなんて楽しい
Excellent Service...Doug is so so friendly!! I would like to go again for sure
We took a guided tour here in this reserve from Whitehorse. We saw several moose, bison, caribou, arctic fox, mountain goat , sheep , lynx here. The reserve is very beautiful in winter conditions. It is a great place for a 2/3 hour day trip and some great wildlife photography. I will recommend this place and will definitely visit in summer/ fall.
Good value for the tour and commentary
Amazing !
(Translated) Very very wide. Feel the great outdoors! (Original) とてもとても広いです。大自然を感じます!
Pretty fun to walk around. Need to be lucky to spot an animal. Since it's only 15 per person it was worth it. But I wouldn't spend that money if it was for an entire family.
Wonderful way to spend a few hours. Lots of animals to see.
Amazing. Follow the rangers around feeding to see the lynx and arctic fox. Moose are amazing
The bus tour was wonderful with an interesting and clear interpretation of the history and animals here. The design of the paddocks of the predators ensures that they can hide from the tourist when they feel like it, which is important. On the other hand, you need a bit of luck to see all the animals at once.
One of the most important and most beautiful and impressive places in the Yukon. I love it! It is a great place.
Absolutely fascinating. A really good chance at seeing these wild animals up close
This is another highlight of my Yukon trip! I went with Northern Tales Tour as part of a package with Takhini Hot Springs. I had so much fun experiencing and learning about these animals in its' nature form (in the wildlife) and not being confined to a limited space. Really enjoyed learning about the northern Canadian wildlife. And the views are just WOW!
My wife and I walked through this whole place all by ourselves. It was incredible to see all of the animals and learn about them from the various info graphs. Along with looking at the animals, you also have some spectacular views the entire time. I actually really like the simplicity of the place at it is a simple figure eight design and you could technically walk through it all in under an hour. We were here for nearly four, trying to catch glimpses of different animals like the caribou or the winter fox. Was so happy I got to see this place and take some great photographs.
Great place for a walk at any time of year. Clear pathways and lots of animals. Great to ski around in the winter. Accessible to all as you can walk, ride your bike, or take a guided tour by van.
Worthy! Beautiful wildlife, beautiful animals. I suggest to do the walking tour if the weather collaborates!
Awesome place to visit, definitely put it on your list of things to do if in the Yukon.
A very enjoyable experience. We did the short 5km walk and it was so worth it.
Great! Highlight for me was the arctic fox
Very good efforts to preserve wildlife and expose to nature lovers
Enjoyed walking the 5km loop and we saw almost all the animals. Highly recommend this preserve!! Will be back one day!
I go here all the time. I really appreciate the fact that the animals enclosures are as natural as possible.
Amazing landscape with many native Yukon animal species. Wonderful!
This place is huge! It's a good walk and you got to see a bunch of different wildlife. It takes about 1.5 to 2 hours long walk; but if you are a photographer it may take a little longer to go around.
Nice to bring young kids to, a bunch of animals and good walking.
Amazing! Such great service and knowledge in the tour and the staff. We saw almost all animals, however loved too that the animals were not simply on display and could hide if they needed to!
A really easy 5 k walk and the animals are well taken care of :)
Great for wildlife observation!
(Translated) Animals can be observed naturally. You can take a small bus, but it's better to walk around and take a walk. (Original) 動物が自然体で観察ができます。 小さなバスで回ることもできますが、歩いて散歩しながら回るほうが気持ちよく、おすすめです。
Great experience overall -- actually saw all of the animals while walking the 5km loop. Makes for a nice day out, when paired with a late lunch at the nearby café and an afternoon soak at the hot springs.
Pre-iceage animal, with unadulterated DNA! Something unique
Loved it , Definitely recommend it
This place is amazing. Seeing all these beautiful animals up close was a real dream come true. We opted to walk around at our own pace, rather than take the bus, and it was very manageable. Would highly recommend a visit.
Beautiful place. Extremely educational,!
This was amazing. Great concept we need more of. Maureen was our tour guide and was friendly and knowledgeable. Staff in the visitor centre were awesome. Well worth the visit with all animals making an appearance. Tour arranged by Who What Where Tours in Whitehorse who were great.
Tricky to get to if you don't have a car (probably not worth a taxi fee as about 45mins each way from Whitehorse). Good variety of animals all looked well cared for in large enclosures
Great place to view native Yukon wildlife
Igreat for o8da bit too hot to walk 5 km take bus tour
Awesome opportunity to see wildlife so close. Staff are wonderful and do their best job in looking after the animals. It was the first snowfall of the season in Whitehorse last week and it looked so beautiful ❤️
Thank you all

Great walk - lots of animals
An amazing wildlife sanctuary. From Linx and artic foxes, to moose and mountain goats, and everything Yukon in between. Had an amazing visit with the family. Would highly reccomend if your visiting the Yukon.
Beautiful walk on the trail. Learned the difference between a moose, elk and Caribou. Nice place to take children for a walk and learning. Biking along was a nice way to enjoy the place.
This is a truly beautiful place. The habitats for each animal has been well thought out specific to each of their needs. Wonderful views. Spectacular animals.
This was great for older visitors that aren't too mobile. Our guide was very knowledgeable about the wildlife at the refuge.
Amazing place. Get to see animals their natural habitat. Good to rehabilitated animals.
(Translated) Very beautiful to see the animals in their habitat is a great experience, it is something that should not be missed …
See all the animals you failed to see on the highway. Except bears.
Loads of fun!
I love this place. A nice 5 km walk and the animals are beautiful. The bus tour has a very knowledgeable guide.
Haven't seen animals so amazing

A fantastic place, huge enclosures but we still saw lots of animals!
So many animals and they are well kept. They are not forced to do anything.
Awesome opportunity to see wildlife this close and tame. Lots of space for the animals - lake for the moose; mountain for goats and sheep; and lots of grassing ground for the elk and bison! Very friendly and ethical!
Knowledgeable staff, beautiful animals and tge preserve is well maintained.
you want to see them then this is the place to do it....wildlife that is :D
Really great way to see some animals in their natural habitat. It's also educational and they have information about each animal that is found native in that area. There's some beautiful views. When I went, I had the pleasure of seeing sheep, goats, mouse, bison, foxes, and elk. There were also babies and one of the elk was in the process of giving birth. Cool stuff! You can tell the animals are well cared for.
Excellent photo opportunities of Yukon wildlife in this preserve in their own natural resources
Magical place. Drove across Canada and saw a few roadside animals but to see so many different types in their natural setting was a.azing. Got some good exercise on the 5k hilly walk. Bring mosquito repellant to make day more enjoyable.
Awesome reserve
Native Yukon animals in almost wild habitats.
Our tour with Northern Tails was fantastic. The guide was informative.
beautiful landscape, friendly staff and plenty animals. on good days you won't even need binoculars.
Very nice setup nice variety of animals
Great tour by a very knowledgeable staff member! Worth the bus tour!

Great place, well maintained. Expected to grow with more animals to come in the coming years. The bus ride was a good pick for us as the guide was very knowledgeable. The bus stops at all viewing points and we get down and get up close with the animals. The bus ride is just $8 on top of the $16 entry fee (unlike the additional $24 I initially thought).
Doug was by far the most engaging and educational host!! This was a great last minute add on to our trip. Fantastic tour and very reasonably priced. We would do this again anytime. If it had been warmer we would have done the walk too. Do the bus tour, 100% worth it!!
Enjoyed the nature walk and seeing animals roaming.
Excellent place to visit. I suggest the bus tour, you learn a lot. The staff are so knowledgable and friendly. It is worth it. We had a great day weather wise and a lot of the animals made an appearance. It is a non profit organization, please donate!!
You definitely want to come prepared if you’re walking the whole park, it took us about 2 hours, which was enough time to stop and take pictures. The animals looked very healthy and unfortunately the birds of prey cages were empty( most likely due to the cold). There is a bus tour available. Overall, It was very enjoyable experience. I decided to visit the preserve with some of my colleagues and this time we took the bus tour. Doug was an amazing tour guide, along with his knowledge his anecdotes kept a good vibe. It made the experience so much more. Thanks again.
A great place to see some wildlife
Beautiful
This place is really cool. It is very big and there are a lot of different animals here. I went through the the whole and I think there was only 1 animal I didnt see. All the others I saw and it was a great experience.
(Translated) Simply beautiful and with so much history that you must see it !!!! (Original) Simplemente hermoso y con tanta historia que debes verlo!!!!
I always enjoy seeing wildlife. This is a special place, especially for those not familiar with seeing these species.
(Translated) Hardly to see animals. Good to walk 5 km. (Original) Kaum Tiere zu sehen. Gut zu Wandern 5 km.
Fare prices! The staff was polite and friendly! We learned a lot from the wildlife from the tour operator explanation. I'll go back if I can next summer ????
Outstanding experience seeing the care of the animals in their natural setting
Such an amazing experience seeing a wide range of animals not everyone gets to see in the wild!
Great place to see the animals
Great place
Amazing experience.
Excellent wildlife viewing and walking areas
Breathtaking scenery and lots of wildlife. The person at the ticket booth was incredibly nice and took the time to answer all our questions and explain so many things about the preserve and their mission.
So much fun! Seen a wild fox just passing through.
Family fun... Great facility
Awesome display of special northern animal!
Real close interaction with wildlife
It was a bit cold but the animals were wonderful to see
Great place to view this local wildlife. Lovely walk around the compound.
Really enjoyed being at the preserve again. Fun seeing the animals in the different seasons.
Lots of wildlife and great information from the tour guide on the bus tour.
Big open enclosures for the animals to graze upon, which did make it hard to find some animals. we still managed to spot them all, except for the lucid white fox
Amazing place
It was beautiful experience to go there, we learned many things from the tour guid . We have seen the mountain goat and red fox, bison, elks and some more animal
Great place to get a look at some of the beautiful animals. We were very lucky to be able to see each animal which is not always the case. The guide was great and very knowledgeable. They have a bus route where you can jump on and off to see the animals close up or you can do a walking tour. Well worth the visit
Real close interaction with wildlife

Super cool place. The driver of the bus tour was awesome and informative!! So happy I made it out here while I was in town!!
Had a good visit with the grandchildren. Saw the usual big ones of bison, elk and moose. Enjoyed the arctic fox , three playing in the grass.
Unique

Absolutely loved it, this place is amazing. Now this is no Zoo by any means, it is a Wildlife Preserve. Which means you might not always get to see everything here do to how much space these animals have to roam around in. Now there are bus tours for people to take but I would highly suggest to bring your good shoes/Hiking boots. And enjoy the walk.
Excellent. Large areas for the animals to roam in.
Good way to spend a few hours before hitting the Takhini hotsprings. Good informative tour.
(Translated) Impressed by dealing with rare animals of nature. (Original) 自然の珍しい動物に遇えて感動的❗️
Great experience! Would recommend opting for the bus tour as Doug was a great guide plus you get the warm bus to hop in/out of. During the spring/summer the migratory animals return so there are more to see but even in the winter it was fun to see their "home" animals in the snow/cold.
A must go place! Beautiful scenery and great chance to see the wild animals of Northern area!
Kristin with Northern Tales was an awesome tour guide! Incredible time at the preserve and then Takhini Hot Springs
(Translated) Excellent place (Original) Excelente lugar
I loved it
Theses people are doing great work here.
Great place for a walk and too see wildlife. Family friendly.
Beautiful setting for viewing the wildlife
Drove through with a guide from our resort. It was really great viewing today as we saw elk, moose, arctic fox, silver fox, caribou, thinhorn sheep, muskox, mulies, mountain goats, wood bison, and lynx. If you don't have a guide, you can walk through or take the guided tour. In speaking with the facility guide at the end, I imagine that would have been very informative as well.
We had a great time out there. The animal look really good and well taken care of. Had luck to see two Lynxes, but we ran out of luck because the moose were hiding. Even without seeing them, it was a really nice getaway. All the new born animals made it evej better.
A nice place to see wildlife and wander leisurely. A good place to bring kiddos or visiting family members that arent into hardcore hiking and hyper-outdoorsy adventures as the walking is mostly flat and very easy.
Do the tour! Local and territorial stories and cool background information about the animals are included! Sometimes you get to pet the moose!!!!
Amazing! Well worth it!
The perfect place for walking, biking, jogging while seeing animals in their natural way!
Rode a bus around the complex. Hot, hot day and bus windows were down, but driver had AC. The driver was our guide - informative and friendly. He stopped the bus at many sites; we got out, walked around as he talked about the wildlife and we took pics. Most of the animals were out so we could see & photograph them.
fun place to be when the animals are out
(Translated) Beautiful park to see animals up close. (Original) Prachtig park om dieren van dichtbij te zien.
I absolutely love the Yukon Wildlife Preserve! A great opportunity to see wildlife up close and a nice 5km walk around in all seasons. Staff are friendly and knowledgable and the cost is very reasonable, especially if you buy a season's pass. All in all a great place to spend a few hours!
We did the bus tour and Tannicka was very friendly and knowledgeable.
Amazing!
Brilliant! Beautiful animals and lots to see!
(Translated) Admission $ 16. If you walk slowly, you can watch for about 1 hour and 2 hours. The animals looked healthy and there was plenty of land to run around. Good walk, nice exercise.
The Preserve is about a 20 minute drive out of Whitehorse. We got there just after ten, and so missed the shuttle which was a good thing. It made us walk the approximately 5K road route past the habitats of the animals. We walked at a leisurely pace, taking pictures as we went. In the first habitat, we saw Rocky Mountain elk foals with their proud parents. In the next, a field of shaggy wood bison, also with young. As we went on we saw two varieties of thinhorn sheep (Dall's sheep and stone sheep), muskoxen, snowshoe hares, Arctic foxes, a moose with calf, a woodland caribou and several mountain goats. Throughout the walk, dozens of Arctic ground squirrels scampered and whistled their approval. The animal habitats are large, (the park is over 700 acres) and we could take pictures of the animals in their natural surroundings in many cases. Spring is a great time to see the animals with their young, but the trade off is that some of them are starting to look a little shaggy as they shed their winter coats. We took over two hours to walk the 5K route and we took over 120 pictures between the two of us. We stopped in the visitor cabin to check out and picked up a nature book for our grandchildren in the gift shop. We had several questions and the staff member on duty was able to answer all of them for us. A great morning.
Awesome. Our guide Pete was very knowledgeable.
Helpful staff, super friendly! Great place

We enjoyed the guided bus tour on a sunny clear afternoon. We were lucky enought to get a good look of all the animals in the care of the preserve including the shy lynx, arctic and red foxes and Musk Ox. The driver/interpreter was knowledgeable and well paced. A great excursion if you are in the area
Excellent display of northern wildlife
Great place to see wildlife with respect for animals. Nice staff, student price.
Great for wildlife observation!
Snowy and wonderful as always. This is my happy place.
