This Zoo is included in the category of Zoo.
It’s really a very tiny zoo. Price is good though, only $2 each. Parking is a pain on weekends, and it charges $5
For only $2, this is the best zoo for your money. The area is great and the staff are super friendly and knowledge. Definitely worth checking out.
Not bad for 2$ real good. Cool Mountains Lions and a big Gold Turtle. I kinda got sad the petting zoo is still closed although you can see the goats but overall good
It’s a cute little zoo with so many animals. The animals are mostly rescues and are living in a conservation environment. The zoo is only $2. They also have a petting zoo.
This is a great place, especially for younger aged children. My kids love it. They have animals that you cannot find at the two larger Zoos ( LA and Santa Ana). I do have to say it is tiny and you can walk the whole thing fairly quickly however the price is really good to get in.
Great for toddler and 7 year old! Shady and easy to walk. Can’t beat the $3 parking and $2 entrance. Beats the crowds and traffic anywhere else if you are looking for some relaxing animal viewing.
Had a great time at the pumpkin patch and Zoo...even if the tickets at the pumpkin patch are outrageously overpriced

The variety of animals is great. My kids and I enjoy it better than the Santa Ana zoo and its a fraction of the price.
Very cute first time zoo to introduce kids to animal life plus lots of things to do! Pony rides a train , boating that u rent sort of bikes on the water.Lots of picnic area's ,a little museum on wild life.play equipment in various area's! Great for Birthday parties! Or pther events!
Small liitle zoo but it is great for a family outing. We did the paddle boats with my little one. Beware those are like a workout
Hidden little gem that's perfect for a quick zoo trip. Visited on their Holiday event, had no clue this even went on. Santa photos, crafts, booth games, animals dressed up and enclosures decorated!! Had a great time with the kids❤️
Went to zoo lights and had a great time. Good place for families and couples. They have a spiked hot chocolate that was awesome since the weather was cold. They also had a various spots to stop for food. One BBQ truck had awesome loaded fries. They also had funnel cake fries that were delicious.

Good for kids to see some animals for the first time. You can see California bear and mountain lions. Not too big. You will have fun with your friends.
Small zoo and park l. They have bears and mountain lions and sheep. Cost 2 bucks to get in

Although it's a very small zoo it have a wide variety of animals to exhibit. Looking forward to the expansion and seeing what the mamal exhibit will look like. $2 per person is not bad at all! A lot of sanitary stations too. Also, just an FYI - masks are asked to be worn. If you don't have one the cashier can provide you with one :)
Its so beautiful there, and so much to do. Just walking around is enough to make you happy. The zoo itself was awesome, very cool indeed.
My first time there. My son's family goes quite often My granddaughter 2.5 yrs old loves it. So I got to see it through her eyes. Price is very reasonable..I will go again.

For the price this place is great! The enclosures are pretty small (sadly) but it makes for a close encounter with the animals. Bring quarters to feed the goats and sheep! There is no bathroom inside the zoo, which makes it really difficult for little kids so prepare for that. They are currently building a bathroom which looks like it will be really nice. I think they could charge more for admission, it is worth a higher price.
The Orange County Zoo was so much fun for my two year old, and just as much fun for my boyfriend and I. You are able to view and learn about a variety of animals, from different species of birds to viewing bears in their exhibit. Entry into the zoo is only $2 per person over the age of 2! Keep in mind, entry into the park, for us, was $3 - but still, not a bad deal. The walk through the zoo was easy, not too crowded, and wasn't too long. Really enjoyed my time there.
Nice little zoo. Good for young kids
Nice little zoo for the area and the price. A good extra thing to do in the the main park.
Love this zoo. I didn't even know it was there but took my grandchildren and it was just the right size with just the right number of animals.
$1–5
Very little zoo but very nice, very clean and kids love it.
Fun place for kids an adults sn chesp price
Very nice place for kids and the prices are good
Awesome place. Kids and i had wonderful time. A lot of trees will make you heal.
This zoo is a hidden treasure! I never knew it existed, and I am so happy to have found it! All the animals are somewhat local, and they take really good care of them. You can feed goats and sheep at the petting zoo for a quarter, and the entrance fee is only $2.00 (plus the $3.00 per car fee to get in to the park).
This place is amazing. It's cheap, only 2 dollars a person. It has a good variety of animals, and they are currently even expanding. I have spent many countless hours just walking around a couple of times, as the animals are fairly active, and if you don't see one the first time, you'll probably see it when you pass around the second time. They also aren't shy, they like to look at you and walk up, so you tend to have a good look at them. The staff is also very knowledgeable about their animals, and friendly. One of the best little zoos around.

Very small zoo which is why it is only $2. Love the size and different types of native animals here. The bears were entertaining as well as the mountain lion
This was a very fun experience. For the price of just $2 i think its very worth it. It will cost $5 to get into the regional park and the zoo it more towards the back. Very family friendly, a great place to brings kids. There is a petting zoo too. Even though me and my friends are older, we enjoyed it. Very relaxing! Only down part was the parking lot is very small but there are many lots you could park at and there is a over flow lot for the zoo.
Opened today. Animals were as happy as we were. Interacting at the fence lines. Very covid safe. You'll see what I mean when you get here. Had a blast!!
One of the better small zoos I've ever been to. The animals look genuinely well cared for and in good health. Exhibits are well curated (kids at every height can see the animals) , staff is helpful and polite, and the place is incredibly clean. There's so much to do in the whole park can't recommend this place enough.

Great place to take a toddler, and perfect amount of walking. Lots of reptiles, snakes, lizzards, and animals to see. They have a section where you can pets some goats and staff was walking around with a bearded dragon. There is a section where its under construction and can not wait to see it when its done.
Very cool! $5 to get into park and $2/person to get into the zoo. Both the park and zoo are very well maintained and super neat. Loved the zoo, cages are large and spacious for the animals and all the animals seemed to be very well cared for. Well worth the money to come see! We will definitely be back :)

Yes, PUMPKIN PATCH IS PET FRIENDLY. You can bring your dog since your furbaby is part of the family. I called ahead of time and was not given an answer. I wish i would have known. Not allowed in the actual zoo though. Tags: pet friendly, dog friendley, dog, pet, friendly
A great zoo. I really enjoyed it and will be returning. I loved the beauty of the plants and trees and how their history was given. This is a great place to take your nana or someone who doesn't get out much as it is not so large as to overwhelm them. Riding through Irvine Regional Park is nice as well.
We visited on a Friday and there were no crowds to contend with. Super cool creatures and lots of knowledgeable staff. We touched snakes, lizards, and even a tarantula! (Ok, I didn't touch the tarantula, but one could if you wanted to.) Tortoise, porcupine, birds of prey, bears, mountain lions. Fun. And super cheap!
While on vacation we were recommended this place by a local.we love it

Great local zoo! And now there are bathrooms in the zoo!! This zoo specializes in animals native to the Southwestern United States and most are native to California. The animals at this zoo have been injured, orphaned or confiscated and would not otherwise survive in the wild. The zoo is their permanent home and the animals serve as ambassadors to help educate the public in order to better understand, appreciate and respect the animals that live in and near our communities.

Great park with plenty of things to do. Weekends tend to be more congested with people but still fun.
Its a great destination for parents and their kids. Its $2 for a ticket. We loved the bears and golden eagle. However, the bees were a lot to take today. There were so many. The zoo staff was awesome. They let the kids touch a snake and a hissing cockroach.
Amazing fun. Love this zoo

Just thed right size zoo for the little people in our family. Clean and we'll kept inside and outside the cages. the animals surroundings are pleasant and cozy. it gives you the feeling of their habitats. it's a little gem, and all the family enjoyed themselves.
Very fun and well kept, if small, zoo... Not sure why they have an exhibit of a crow, lol... There were plenty in the parking lot. Only $2 to enter, and worth well more than that.
Orange County zoo which is in Irvine park is an awesome zoo they are expanding the zoo and it is going to be awesome I guarantee you you will love it and the price is only $2 to get in this zoo is incredible seriously
A beautiful day. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable the zoo was set up very nicely. It's nice to see these animals being taken care of after being wounded or having some kind of issue that wouldn't allow them to continue in the wild. Beautiful place for families

I thought the walk tour was a little short but that's because of pandemic . It was very well kept animal look healthy
One of Orange County's little gems. This small zoo is tucked in the middle of the Irvine Regional Park and it features local animals as well as a couple exotic species. They're open year round (check the calendar for special days and events). They always have stuff going on for the kids, like story time, or shows, etc. The staff is friendly and very knowledgable. It's inexpensive and a great way to take the kids out to learn about animals and nature. They also have a petting area where you can interact with a whole bunch of goats and you can also feed some of the goats in the other enclosures. It costs $0.25 to buy a handful of feed for them so bring your quarters.
Pretty cool small zoo. We had fun seeing all the animals up close. The mountain lion was so close to see.
Weekend
Fun family zoo showcasing species native to the southwestern United States. Small space, but the animals are active and kids will have a great time learning about the creatures in their own backyard.
Recently changed a few things and added some more animals. Nice small zoo. Could be in and out in 1 to 2 hours with a full experience giving time to appreciate the rest of irvine regional park.

Excellent very well managed and perfect for a short field trip around nice scenery.
I love it ! Nice variety of animals !! Very clean and organized. And after we finish here we enjoy , the walk in the park and all the others animals around Irvine Regional Park !
Cute and small zoo. Kids enjoyed seeing the animals.
Nice zoo for toddlers or younger kids. Small, but enough for the money. Entry is only $2, plus the overall parking for the park. They are working on a major remodel and expansion, but you can still see everything while they work on it.

Excellent value. Small, well maintained zoo. We went at 10 am in may and many of the animals were very active. It only takes 30-45 min to go through the zoo but it's also only $2 per person. Great for young kids.
Great little zoo, especially for toddlers and young children. You can easily explore the whole zoo in 30mins. Some animals include a bear, mountain lion, coyote, beaver, snakes, peacocks. There is a also petting zoo with goats and story time on select days. Admission is only $2 per person. Bring extra quarters to buy some feed for the goats.
Awesome little zoo!! Perfect for an afternoon trip! It's very small but the kids love it! The best part is, this park has a lot of things to do so when you are done with the zoo, there is plenty more to do!
$1–5
This zoo is perfect for young kids and VERY affordable. The zoo itself is not massive, but large enough to entertain my 2 and 4 year old girls. We've been taking them there every year on their birthday. The staff and interns are informative and friendly. Kids can feed, pet, and brush goats as well. Beautiful peacocks roam freely. There are bears, mountain lions, snakes, lizards and even a bald eagle! The OC Zoo is a great spot to for families and photographers alike.
2$ experience was so worth it. 3$ parking in the gorgeous park. Favorite spot in OC. There’s so much to do here. I don’t want fo give it all away for you. Would rather keep it a surprise. It’s better that way!
This is such a cute zoo! It is small but they do have a variety of animals and they have had some improvements done recently. There are bathrooms inside now! With the pandemic they have set up a one way lane that takes you around the zoo.Too bad the petting zoo is closed. My family spent around 2 hours to get through all the animals without rushing.
For a small county zoo I was extremely impressed. The animals are in good condition, cared for by knowledgeable and friendly staff. We were lucky to be there on the right day at the right time and got to see the bears, mountain lions and otter in an unusually active and playful mood! At the $2 entry fee price point, it's a good place to spend an extra hour or two on a pleasant afternoon.

For 2$ entry is good enough. You can spend like 30 minutes there. Staff is nice and animals are well taken care of. Its smart to have all of these things ( bikes, pedals, zoo, picnic, hike) to do at one place . Will be back for sure
Tiny but lovely. It's a wonderful place for you and your family! Makes you feel like this is the kind of zoo that you could really see the animals. You also get the chance to talk to the zoo keepers and ask them about the animals. And you get to see them train the mountain Lions. This could be one of my favorite zoos!
For the price of only $2, it was absolutely worth it. We chose to walk over to the Zoo when we were at the Irvine Railroad park for the pumpkin patch. A short and enjoyable walk to get to the zoo. Once inside the zoo, they had cute Halloween decor around and it all seemed very clean. They had handwashing stations because you have an opportunity to go to the petting zoo and feed some of the animals over there. It was nice to be able to see all the different animals that are local to this area.
What a wonderful place to take young kids and see local animals. It's not expensive and a fun afternoon fun. The petting zoo was awesome!

Great place to take your little one. The location was only $2.00 for adults and children under 2 years old are free. Place is open right now too
Weekend
Quaint, adorable, and well organized regional zoo! We have been up to this park before for a Halloween festival, but this was our first visit to the little zoo there. It is just a special little corner to feel close to animals that are living amongst us out here in the Western States. They are very well cared and seem to have been acquired as rescues from having been injured, and are not able to be released back into the Wild and survive. So, it’s nice to know they have a place to live out their lives where they are cared for. The staff is Park Rangers, and they are knowledgeable, maybe a bit stand offish, or I am outgoing, not the most personable. A bit different than being at another zoo where the keepers seem to enjoy interacting with visitors and discussing the animals. They seem less than thrilled here. But, it’s an easy trade off for a VERY affordable day. Only $2 admission! How can you beat that?! Afterward, we walked over and let our youngest have a Pony ride for $5, and you are still feeling like you had an insanely cheap outing. Bring quarters for the feed machines for the goat area. And plan on spending some time in there with your kids. They have brushes to “groom” them and their sweet little pigmy goats. If you plan ahead, you can easily make reservations for an actual trail ride, or go on a hike, have a picnic, and still fit in the zoo, and maybe even take the last train at 4pm. They have a precious Christmas village at the park, and don’t forget parking is $5. The entire park is beautiful and has great spaces and playgrounds. The bathrooms are a bit nasty, though. They were a definite no go for me. Maybe on a weekday they are better?

It's a cute zoo if you're looking for something quick/small. I'd say it's perfect for kids , plus the rest of the regional park makes up for it's size. They've got a goat petting zoo ! And for only 3 dollars it's a fun 10-20 minute experience
The zoo was very clean. My kids had a blast at the petting zoo. Very friendly and mellow goats. Definitely recommend. Go early as parking gets filled quick. Before 11am would be ideal on weekends. We left at 2:30pm and there were lots of vehicles looking and waiting for parking. Parking entrance fee is $5. And $2 per person for the zoo admission. Well worth a family day of fun. Children under 2 years old is free I believe.

A really nice, intimate zoo experience that the kids will love. Don't go here expecting San Diego Zoo or something that's enormous and costs $$$s. This is $2 per person entry plus $5 parking, and it's all local wildlife. But the mountain lions are worth the visit (and super low cost) alone - they have keeper talks twice per day and I'd absolutely recommend timing your visit alongside these (11:15am and 3pm on my visit). Other animals of note are golden and bald eagles, black bears, porcupines, coyotes, bobcats, a lot of snakes and lizards, and a very talkative parrot. Plus you can pet the goats who are super keen. Afterwards enjoy a nice walk around the park. Highly recommended.
It was a cute little zoo with a surprising amount of animals and I really enjoyed it. Admission is very cheap and all the animals are rescued!

I've been here maybe half a dozen times. Definitely my favorite regional zoo. I was sad to hear the sister mountain lion passed away recently. My favorite part was watching the brother sister duo playing with each other. The bears, serval, bobcat and ocelot are still fun to watch. And the beaver is surprisingly one of my favorite stops everytime! Always active. Make sure to bring quarters or get some when you enter and enjoy feeding animals in the children's section! There are two adorable baby goats.

We visited the OC Zoo on a Monday, it was $3 for parking and $2 per person except those 2 yrs old and under. During the weekend prices might be different. Its such a nice little zoo. We saw brown bears, mountain lion, peacocks, eagles, Prarie dogs, reptiles, and many more animals. It was such a fun experience, we will go again! We loved it. Thank you OC Zoo.
This little gem was found on our way out of the park. We went to the park for a compnah picnic and stopped to see the zoo on the way out. It was decorated for halloween!! Petting zoo was fun. We have goats of our own. Best part was being able to see a bald eagle. So majestic!

I loved this place. I really enjoyed going through this place. So many animals I have never seen before. The coyote was a big hit. The bears were wonderful and the mountain lion. Many of the animals were rescue animals that can't live in the wild. I really liked that part. Giving the animals life after injury ,giving them a home and care
We loved there, my kids really enjoyed is not big but the price was only $2 per person.

It is a small zoo for a couple hours of visit. It is well managed and kids love this place because it has many kinds of animals. The best part is a padding zoo where they can touch and brush different kinds of goats. Also, they can feed:)
It was so much fun to do the scavenger hunt around the zoo. It really made you slow down, read, and learn.
Great place to get away from it all. Employees are top notch
Small but well inhabited. Very clean. Animals appear well cared for. Great value for family or friends. Petting zoo is also great. Co-located with a wonderful park in the hills.
Lots of smaller animals to see. It's inexpensive. The biggest draw backs are the giant lines for everything and the parking fee.
Very inexpensive to see live animals. It's a long wait to get in because they promote social distancing. I felt safe so it's worth it.

To see the zoo through my granddaughter, 18 months old, means to see it with so much wonder. Wonderful.
Great small zoo. Love the two bears.
So much fun we took our family 8 adult's 3 teenager's and we all loved the experience. The mountain lions, eagles, and petting zoo we're the biggest hits with the teens. And it's only $2 per person can you believe it. Definitely check it out.

Well this place is a hidden gem. I lived in Irvine over ten years and never care to explore this place. Wish I brought my dog here. The zoo itself isn't big but it's not also pricy at all. But the park is pretty big and peacocks are everywhere. Also heard there's a farmers market on every Tuesday here
We spent our family outings to celebrate a day for my two year old. We visited the zoo, paddle bikes, and train ride. The zoo is small but large enough for a toddler. The paddle bikes were fun and the staff operating the train ride are amazingly friendly! They gave a shout-out to my daughter over the speaker!

Went to the Santa Ana Zoo three times in the same week with my family because it is such a wonderful incredible place in a setting that is magnificent, lush and tropical. The cost of a family annual pass is incomparable in value and another big bonus is free parking and $2 only to take the miniature train journey around the zoo. The petting zoo is also fun and included in the admission cost. My young grandchildren love visiting this family friendly incredible zoo and enjoy seeing all of the amazing animals and tropical birds there, including a pair of scarlet red ibis birds and parrots, as well as the most comprehensive array of monkeys from all over the world. I highly recommend spending a lot of time at this zoo which caters so perfectly to introducing children and adults alike to the world of animals and nature as well as environmental awareness. A truly wonderful attraction and experience for the whole family to enjoy and appreciate. The botanical garden quality of landscaping is worth the visit alone and is nice for a hike through the various botanical jungles, pampas, exotic and local species of flowers, plants and trees as well as visiting the awesome animals.
I love this Zoo, It’s so cheap for $2 a person and the grounds are so nice , great for picnics and there is a little area for kids to go and ride ponies. Sometimes they walk around with the possum or hedgehog and you can pet them. Kids love it ?

Very nice place to enjoy a family outing
1. Can't beat the price. We paid, Two adults one child, $6.00 2. Main attraction was the black Bears. 3. My favorite animal at the zoo is the feral burros. Burros are the most underrated creatures, despite the most used animal that built United States America. Please someone built a commemorative statue of these wonderful creatures. Facility at the time of this review was clean. Also is a worker walking around disinfecting the populated areas. Masks are required. Yes I will recommend Orange County Zoo to friends and family. The mobile phone interactive tour was pretty cool, it was helpful for someone like me that has dyslexia.
Great park, my daughter loves it
This is a cool zoo, although it's small. It has mostly native California and southwest animals, with a few animals from other areas. This is great for younger children because it's relatively flat. Come visit!
What a great afternoon ???? at a little zoo! We got lunch at subway, drove around and found a picnic bench shaded by a large tree. Then we went to the zoo, we found that almost all of the animals were walking around showing off their gorgeous-ness! Owls, sheep, bears, peacocks showing their amazing feathers , bald and red eagles, even the a really large size owl was showing off. The beautiful parrots were all talking to each other, ring neck doves, otters swimming, coyotes mountain lions and wolves were pacing back and forth showing their beautiful form as if to say, don't mess with me! What a great afternoon
It was a very great experience for all children going out and animals are very happy to see us we love this place and whole weekend keep coming ended up coming days God bless

Great place to with low impact to the wallet at $2 per person. I can fish in about 40 mins but at $2 it's worth it. I can take the kids every few months and not worry about it costing a whole paycheck.
Small zoo but worth the low low price of admission. The animals are close and active.

Dozens of animals. 2 dollars per person admission. Can't be beaten. Children's petting zoo has dozens of goats to feed and dozens of other, more friendly goats, who are available throughout brush using the provided goat brushes. It's certainly no international quality zoo like San Diego, but it's inside a great park and you have a lot of other things to do other than just this zoo within walking distance. There is a pond to paddle around in, and the prices are not terrible at 20 dollars per 30 minute, which is about the most you could do on this size pond. It may be worthless, but they do have what could be the most luxurious chicken or rooster(I'm clueless about poultry)that I have ever witnessed, as seen in attached photos.

There's aot of rescued and orphaned animals here... I'm a huge bear fan so I came for the bears... The darker black bear was said to possibly been hit by a car and has some brain damage... You can actually see connections between the animals and the handlers here at this zoo.

A small zoo with awesome employees
Great zoo to help the endangered animals. Needs more room for the animals to run/roam freely. It will be great if the zoo has a Gift Shop so children can buy a souvenir and the zoo can raise extra money from the sale to care/pay for the animals supplies/foods.

I've been to this zoo at least half a dozen times with my 2 and 4 yos. It is tiny, so great for little attention spans, has a petting zoo with goats & sheep (and a place to wash up afterward) and has a variety of different animal exhibits. There is also an area for school groups and talks, although I've yet to see it being used. It would be nicer to see some of the larger animals in bigger enclosures, but the zoo is extremely limited in space it can occupy. I feel -from what I've seen- the keepers try to keep those animals needing more space from being bored as well as they can. Water toys, iced food, etc. For the cost of entry, it is definitely worth it. $2 for people 3 and over, under 3yo is free.

This place is really well kept, only $2 or person. They have a good amount of animals even bears. I highly recommend this place staff is great as well. We came at 1pm it was not too crowded. There is also peacocks roaming around freely. Great place to bring family of all ages. Right now because of covid-19 they have set up where you have to stay 6ft apart and also you can only go one way,i think it's actually better it's a smooth transition and you know exactly where to go just follow the signs

So much more to do than just a zoo! My family had a blast visiting the animals, and all the activities available here.
This zoo is located inside of the Irvine regional Park. What I like most about it is that for $2 per person I can come multiple times a month with my kids and not feel like I have to do a tiring whole day activity like going to the San Diego zoo. You get a good variety of animals and unlike the Santa Ana zoo that costs $15 per person and is full of monkeys and birds, here you can see bears, mountain lions and other predators.
Orange County Zoo in Orange is a nice small zoo. The day we were there it was cool, so there were several animals moving around in their cages. They have a small train that our granddaughter enjoyed riding. There was a snackbar with drinks available.
Weekend
Adorable small zoo located inside the beautiful park.. I was pretty surprise and happy to discover this place. Perfect for the whole family , cute animals and just about $2 per person plus $5 entrance to the park for parking

My kids love the pony rides
Two days ago, we went to Orange County Zoo at Irvine and it is close to Irvine Regional Park. They have animals, such as bears, peacocks, eagles, mountain lions, goats and a few other animals as well. It was a nice family zoo for everyone.
Love this zoo. It's quaint but with a good variety of animals and activities for the kids.
This little zoo is a gem. It's only $2/person to enter and there is a good variety of animals here (bears, mountain lions, other cat varieties, eagles and hawks, beavers, and more including reptiles). The zookeeper gave my kids a talk while feeding some animals that they were very into. As a mom with little kids the size is nice. We can walk around the entire place without getting tired. Due to covid it is a one way path, which actually improved our experience. I encourage anyone who hasn't been to visit, especially if you have young kids. There are also cute halloween decorations up.
It was really nice to see all the animals and the ride was wonderful with the amazing views!

Very nice zoo for only 3$ it was amazing!! Got to see eagles being fed, parrot was talking to me. The place was very well kempt animals looked relaxed and happy(coyote was stressed). They had it decorated for Haloween it was darling. My family absolutely loved this zoo, did I mention they have bears, a mountain lion and so much more in a nice shady area.
My grandparents lived in Orange Park Acres so I've been to this park quite a bit as a child, but had not been back in sometime and I had never been to the zoo. We started out early because it gets pretty warm in that area compared to our house which is a lot closer to the beach. When we got to the zoo we were lucky, all of the animals were out and about which isn't always the case when you go to a zoo especially when it's getting hot. The crowds were extremely like when we first got there back after a bit it started to get a lot of people inside. The kids had a great time seeing all of the animals especially this close to home. The staff was very friendly and open with sharing information about the animals which was really nice. My kids really enjoyed it. All in all a great family experience for anyone

Love this little zoo. Have been going for many years, and even though my kids are all adults now, we still go and have a good time.
This is a wonderful zoo and an entertaining place for small children. It is a good place for a morning trip or an afternoon visit. A slow walk through the zoo allows you to see all of the exhibits and animals and still get home for lunch and/or a nap. The animals all seem to be cared for well, which is so important. Always love the petting zoo.
Small zoo. But cheap and great family outing! I loved some of the smaller details they add to make it interactive I recommend the phone tour
Though it’s not a pretty as other zoos, it has a good selection of animals and a very beautiful park.
Small zoo but you get very close to the animals and they have some great animals including a bald eagle, black bears, an ocelot, mountain lions (stay for the zookeeper chat when they feed them) and some roaming peacocks and more. Staff is really friendly and the best part is the entry fee is only $2 (plus Irvine park entry fee. $3-5 per car depending on day of week).
Cute little zoo for a morning or afternoon stroll. Entrance is only $2 (after being about $5 to get into the park). Despite the size being small, they have some great animals; bears, eagles, mountain lions, bobcats and plenty more. They always have staff out with animals you can learn from (and sometimes touch) like hedgehogs, oppossums, owls and lizards. Oh and there are plenty of peacocks around the park. Overall great little zoo in a nicer park.
It's a small zoo that's very kid friendly. You can see the entire zoo in about 30 minutes. It's a one way path that ends with a petting zoo with a bunch of goats. Unfortunately when we went the petting area was closed. The animals were cool and it was very cheap to get in. Tickets were only $2 per person and kids 2 and under are free.
Love this place. It's a little far to drive but definitely worth it. The little area where you get to pet the goats is so cool. You also get to see different animals and reptiles. Baby has fun every time we go there. Really nice place especially for little ones.

Great for what it is! Mostly birds and lizards, but the petting zoo and bear are great, perfect set up for young children, strolller accessible, 2$ an adult and kids 2 and under free. This made a great family outing because we went rode the train, went to the farmers market (highly recommend looking up and going at that time, had a picnic, and went to the zoo all in the same park. That was very easy with small kids. The zoo is small took us about 1-2 hours to go through and spend time looking at each animal. Add this to your park agenda for a fun day outside
Great little zoo, with lions and bears, for 2 bucks, inside a very beautiful park.
The zoo itself is awesome. The kids love it. It takes only 30 minutes to see all the animals. Ticket is $2, parking is $3. They have a horse ride for little kids for $5(at the irvine regional park). A good place to take the kids to spend the afternoon.
You will see animals that you've never really seen before, in person. All are native American and mostly rescue. You will travel through a beautiful park with horse's to ride either ponies or full size and a train to take you around the park. The zoo is in the back and is a bargain at $2.00 a person. If you are visiting Disneyland it's a nice peaceful brake from the maddening crowd. Just go east on Chapman a few miles but it's not far from Disneyland.
Tiny place. Fun for little ones if you are already visiting this park area. 2$ entry. Small enclosures for a few large animals. Lots of goats to see!

This is a small but mighty zoo that does great rescue work. They help rehabilitate and release what animals they can in the southern California region or help them re-home in the zoo. The mornings see lots of animal activity but there is always lots going on generally with the animals. Throughout the day, the zoo keepers do talks about different animals and their stories. If you can make it, I highly recommend those.
A bit crowded. Still a nice walk for the children!
It may be small but the staff were friendly, the facilities were clean and my daughter loved it. You can't beat the price either. Only takes an hour or two to do the whole zoo, but honestly it is worth the price of admission.
Pretty organized and fast they make you follow a certain route to get people through the zoo faster and follow COVID safety rules.
Fun place to take the family. Zoo, train rides, pony rides, bike rentals, and boat rentals.
Zoo has directional traffic now instead of free roaming. You enter and follow a predetermined path through the zoo. Cute. Small. Not crowded at all. Nestled in the middle of a beautiful park. And only $2 to get in to the zoo. Paid parking for the large park, $3-5.
Weekend
Great park to head to always fun for the family lots the family lots of fun and exciting activities to do they do highly recommend renting a bike and having a blast with your family or significant other! They currently have all the Christmas lights around the park making it magical To visit, they also have horseback riding and train rides for the kids!
This is a very inexpensive fun zoo to go to has mountain lions so close feel like you could touch her highly I highly recommend feeling it visit
I missed this park and zoo so much. We would visit the Park mostly when I was little. I took my kids now and we visited the zoo. There's a phone number that you can call and enter the # that's assigned to each animal there at the zoo. It will give you a pre recorded message about the animal you're looking at. I did see they either don't have a souvenir store or it could have possibly been closed due to covid! I noticed that hand wash stations were installed before exiting the zoo. Our visit was very pleasant.
The zoo is good to enjoy as a family
Such a wonderful place to see so many terrific species. Mountain lion, serval, ocelot, bears, bobcat, various birds, a beaver, creepy crawlers and a beautiful bald Eagle. Only $2 to enter per person and you will have a great experience. I suggest going within the last two hours, they are most active and I think getting anxious for their supper time. Have lunch in the park, visit the zoo and enjoy thw day with your family. To get away from the city I visit at least a few times per year.
Great! Went around 2:30, and though it was fairly busy, I've never seen so many animals so active and in plain view. Our 7 month old especially enjoyed the mountain lions, kit fox, and prairie dogs.

Kids getting to see and interact with staff and see a plethora of diverse animals! Exactly what the term Zoo means. $5.00 a vehicle so fill up the fam. Only cost is only $2.00 to get in. Unlimited parks for bbq'ing and spending time with family.
its a good especially for younger children but it would be nice to see them expand the animals exhibits , especially as they are already doing improvements
Great place for a day outing. There's so many different animals there and many added. It's a great place to go and not expensive. Great scenery. It's not one of the bigger zoo's but it's definitely worth going to, there's alot to see. I'd recommend going to this zoo.

Great value and great cut kids
The park itself Irvine recreational park is $5 to go in. The zoo is $2 per person children under 2 are free. We had so much fun the feeding farm was a great way to have the kids interact with the animals the bears were beautiful. There is so much to see for it being a small zoo. Simply amazing ????
Great little zoo for the price. Workers were friendly and helpful to any questions our kids asked. Cute holiday decorations in most of the enclosures. You can walk through the zoo in about 15-30 min depending on pace but we went through a couple times so we were able to spend an hour and half there. Id recommend checking it out if you have a day off and are looking to do something outside with the family. The whole park area is nice to walk through before/after the zoo as well.
My 2 yo loved this zoo.

Small yet comfortable and good selectiom of animals. Is..not too small but not too big that wont hurt your feet too much but your kids will definitely enjoy it.
Perfect place! Not too big, not too small! Can't beat 2 bucks a person! My kiddos loved it and by the time they were tired of it, it was over! ????
Nice size zoo for a great price. Great for the family and kids
This is a great park. There are many animals that have been rescued and nursed back to health. It was amazing to see the mountain lions and other animals in the park. It is very affordable and worth the drive for a day trip. They have a train and horses for rides. You can rent bicycles and tandem bikes as well. There's a small lake and you can rent a paddle boat to get around. Overall, it's a nice little place that I would definitely go to again!

An amazing zoo inside of Irvine Regional Park.
It's a perfect place to take the children. It's only $2 per person. My daughter love it, after the zoo we took a walk around the park.

Amazing gem! It was only $6 to get three of us in, other than the $5 entry fee to the park. It isn't too big but not small either. Has a good variety of animals including a petting zoo. Great if you have kids and also just great to spend an afternoon.
Okay but how cute is this zoo. For 2$ can’t go wrong and it’s by my house I’ve been dying to come here. I finally went by myself and I felt like s a lil kid wetting my pants. I never been so excited. Yes the zoo is small but they have a variety of animals. Oh each and every animal were so beautiful. Lots of fun facts. Hand sanitizer station all around. The petting zoo is closed but I mean it’s a great place to take your kiddos. Especially to a local zoo
Weekend
The parking here is horrible! We drove around for 33 minutes before even getting out of the car. ???? That being said, when we finally did get to park which by the way, parking is 5$ per car, we had to walk quite some ways to get to the "zoo" There were some pretty basic animals in small habitats which honestly as large as the park is I expected the habitats to be a lot bigger. The animals looked sad. There was a bear who seemed like he had enough of the heat and plopped down in a water hole which was cute but even the animals seemed over it. There were some reptiles and birds as well. There was a cute otter swimming and some farm animals for the little kids. The farm animals are part of a petting zoo which is closed for now. Overall the staff was friendly- there were no guides or anything like that due to Covid. So no one was really telling you about the animals just what you read on the little information stands. Overall it was a solid 3 out of five experience. I mean you pay 5$ to drive around a long time to park and then pay 2$ for the actual entrance. I may try another day to go to the zoo but in the morning early to see if there is anything majorly different.
The zoo is a nice little addition to the park it's very small but still worth the $2 to go in and check it out. We had a great time.
The zoo was small but nice, but the Park is awesome, I will be back next weekend

What a super nice simple place to spend a couple of hours and relax.
My granddaughter loves this place. It's small but has enough variety to hold her attention. We always have good conversations about helping and protecting animals.
Great place to take the kids or just get out of the house.... The best $10 bargain between parking and admission for me n my daughter
Had a wonderful experience on a weekday but last weekend it was way too crowded and long lines outside the zoo. Nice place to take kids for an outing.
$1–5
My favorite homegrown zoo!! So educational as I am not a native Californian! The petting zoo is always a hit but make sure you have coins to get some feed. Zoo prices can't be beat (2-3$ I believe)...I just wished they closed later during the week as I would love to be able to just go after work
Extremely surprised for the amount of animals ( I expect less due to the fact that is in a park), and the price:$2/person. My granddaughter had a blast petting the goats and feeding the sheep. And her eyes got bigger when she saw the bear! Nice, shady, relaxing! The park is huge, with multiple playgrounds, bathrooms, there is a lake, paddle boarding, food, and more. Awesome place to spend a day with your family!

This was the first zoo I brought my daughter to. It's very small, but she enjoyed it. We came during the Halloween festival and the goats in the petting zoo were dressed in costume. There were a lot of interactive stations, a scavenger hunt, and trick or treating. The staff and volunteers were very friendly. This was perfect for her first zoo trip.
Beautiful little zoo, easy walk. There's a great picnic places right outside with playgrounds, walking paths, ponds, beautiful trees and grass, rent big family bikes, train rides and grills . Awesome place.

This is the perfect zoo for a morning visit. A mountain lion and some bears bring the large animal appeal, and it is clear the zoo is doing good work for rescued animals. At only 2.00 per person, it was absolutely worth the trip.

My family and I love this zoo! Inside irvine regional park and only $2 to get in.

Definitely get your monies worth. The Zoo only takes about an hour to walk thru. You can make a day by visiting the other areas of the park to pedal a surrey car, paddle a water bike, ride the train for $5 a person, pony rides or rent a horse. All within walking distance of the zoo. There are so many picnic areas and nature walks. This park was well thought out!

Awesome wild animal park within the Irvine Regional Park. The zoo staff have lovingly raised and cared for the animals. It’s a real bargain for just $2.00 to be able to get up close to the largest types of wild animals that roam Southern California! I thought it was fun for the kids to see the reactions of their interactions, throughout this small park. Restrooms are located just behind the ticket counter to the left. From there, the zoo trail loops around back towards the right of the entrance, tho keeping left continues to a t-trail with a coyote, goats and chicken-like fowl. Back to the main loop trail, there’s also some interesting glass case enclosures where I saw some snakes and lizards before the exit.
Amazing zoo and wonderful Christmas experience with the animals!????❤
I've been taking my kids here for years. Its a great park with many amenities to satisfy your interest. The prices outside the zoo are resonable but can quickly become expensive if you have a bigger family. Entrance for parking runs at about $4 per vehicle. Entrance to zoo is about another $3 to $5 a person. The zoo is not very big but families can enjoy seeing inhabitants such as various owls, a cheetah, wolf, mountain lion, bears, goats, pigs, and beautiful peacocks and others.
Great little zoo. Animals are well taken care of...and yes, they have "friends"! The park including the zoo is a great place to spend a day with your family or just by your self, and it won't cost you an arm and a leg (like Disneyland, SeaWorld, Aquarium of the Pacific,...). Very tranquil just being out with trees all around, while lacking all the hoopla of the other "attractions".
It's a nice little zoo that has local animals. The price can't be beat!
Had a good and informative time visiting here at the OC Zoo.
Great place for kids. The zoo is $3 and you can get close look at the animals. They have a snack bar and large ponds you can paddle boat and the summer. The park itself is a great price and they do a lot of family events.

Beautiful small place but plenty of animals and things to see to have a great afternoon! All the creatures were out and many even walking around. most places you pay a fortune to see empty enclosures since they are indoors sleeping or whatever. Really nice zoo!

This may be the best hidden deal. $2 to get in and plenty of animals to view. Perfect setting for any afternoon family outing or a nice relaxing stroll. If your unsure where to spend a few hours on a nice Sunday day, than consider going to the Orange County Zoo. I can't recommend this place enough.
The Santa Ana Zoo is a cute little zoo. The best part of it is the aviary . . . a very large walk-through jungle-like enclosure, that houses three turtle ponds. You could sit in the shade for hours just watching all of the antics of the red eared and yellow bellied slider turtles; best of all, it's possible to go right up to the ponds . . . as there aren't fences covering two of the three pools. Floridian scarlet ibis meander about, as well as a number of American woodrails and South American sunbitterns. The plant life and shade bring it all together into a wild but sleepy world of tranquility.Beyond the aviary, out into the open zoo, are the cute dark brown wallabies, the llamas, and a park-like grass area in the center that is perfect for throwing a large blanket down while the children run around or fuel up on liquids. The pace is a lot slower here than at a large zoo, and you have to work a bit to see some of the wildlife, but you can tell that the animals here are contented . . . and that's what makes a trip worth remembering.
I've always loved the Orange County Zoo oh, but they are doing some construction there and going to be enlarging it. I am super excited. I cannot wait until that is opened up the extension sometime 2022. I love the o.c. zoo and Santa Ana Zoo especially if you have young children and you don't want to spend a whole day at the zoo. Obviously LA Zoo and San Diego Zoo are 100 x the size, but for your smaller neighborhood Zoo this is a great choice.

This is a great local zoo. Dedicated to animals that are native to the Southwestern United States. Nearly all of the animals here have been rescued and/or would not otherwise survive in the wild. New bathrooms are a great addition to the zoo as well.
This is a fun friendly place with surprises . We were there with the 501st liegion Star Wars group. It was StarWars day and they even got some of the animals to dress up. It was alat of fun

Has a great zoo (Orange County Zoo), concession stands for food, bikes, water tractors to paddle round their lake, lots of play grounds around the park, a place to BBQ and picnic under pergolas, a ranger station that is currently closed due to covid restrictions. The zoo has a $2 admission , with masks required but are provided by admission if you come unprepared. There is a cute 10 minute train ride that circles an "authentic" mining town. Admission is $6. We did a few hours here on a family outing over the weekend. It's a great little zoo where all the animals were visible and the staff was friendly. The small selection of animals that they have to visit really encompasses what is indigenous to the area. We would definitely go again when at the Irvine Park
Such a nice park to visit with the family and relax.

Reopened February 3, 2021. Immaculate small zoo that's worth a visit, in a beautiful regional park.
This zoo was very small, but it was neat to see so many animals and birds up close. There is only a $2 entry fee, too. We saw mountain lions and a bald eagle among many other animals found in southern states and South America. The only issue is finding parking, but that is because there are many other activities going on throughout the park. We had to walk about a half a mile from our parking spot to the zoo, but it was a shaded and scenic walk.
The zoo is nice and cheap I wish I could live closer my daughters love to go there they only charge$2 per person. Parking is 3 during week days and $5 on weekends
It was great! However, it was a bit small.
Great little local zoo showcasing indigenous local southwestern US flora/fauna. Only a few bucks. Holiday events, too...good fun with the littles. Come support one of your local zoos!
Fee very reasonable. Volunteers super helpful and friendly. The animals were great and the walking tour and descriptions very interesting and educational. Everything a zoo should be. Parking could perhaps be expanded a bit - that would be my only improvement suggestions. Great place for kids and adults alike.
Nice small zoo in a huge scenic park with a great selection of animals. Good for toddlers to walk around, not to big and a lot of shade. A lot of activities outside of the zoo like four person bike rentals.
Zoo entry is cheap and parking is cheap for everything they have to offer. Zoo, trails, train, pony rides. Multiple playgrounds. Bikes and paddle boats to rent. A couple snack bars. We had a great family day here.
The zoo itself is not that big, and can be covered in one afternoon. But the park is big and has a lot of areas to spend a day and have an event. The zoo has an area where children(and adults!) can play with goats. The entry is only $2 dollars with ree try allowed. Can be a light and fun day out at this zoo especially with kids.
Awesome Zoo. Plenty to see and incredibly well maintained. Can’t beat the $2 ticket either!
The zoo is small but has a lot of regional animals and is part of the larger park. There are trails, playgrounds and lots of other fun things to do before or after visiting the zoo.

Love the OC Zoo. There aren't a lot of animals or many changes to the exhibits; however, if you have small children, it's just the right amount of animals, especially for the price. If the kiddos have enough energy, you can easily take a second walk through. They have a simple petting zoo with goats and have animal talks with zoo staff if you're curious and have questions regarding the animals. Always fun to visit.

Really nice. Went with my daughter, grandson her fiancee and his family. Had a great time. Not really big. $2.00 per person to get in. We all loved seeing the animals. My understanding is that these animals are "rescue animals"... They are really taken care of. Have a great home. Bears, bobcat, snakes, goats, burrows, eagles. Enjoyed myself and plus was off from work. Having weekends off is rare for me. So the whole day was a treat.
Great lil zoo. Kids loved it plus it's nestled in a place with so much to do.
1st time here love it. Love the welcoming by beautiful birds,????
Great place to spend an afternoon. Not as special as San Diego zoo but still manageable and my kids love it.
Very affordable family outing at $2 per person. It includes showcasing a nice variety of local animals to learn more about - the mountain lions and black bears were our favorites!
What a treat. This little zoo was exceptional!!! So many animals. Great petting zoo included. Perfect for toddlers and parents. Staff super nice. Zoo very clean. Take a picnic to enjoy in surrounding park.

Every time I visit there is something new! Diverse collection of local animals that have been orphaned or injured or otherwise not releaseable to the wild - all are well cared for and housed in naturalistic enclosures. Staff are pleasant and helpful; great regular presentations and special events and classes for young ones. Best value for your entertainment and education dollar you'll find anywhere! Love, love, LOVE this place!
As US citizen of Hispanic origins I'd like you to credit Spanish explorers for the introduction of the donkeys instead of that euphemism of "early explorers" on the signs. I don't appreciate our common history to be erased. Thanks in advance for listening.
Very cute petting zoo inside. Girls loved it. Pretty small zoo by very well kept
Very good place for little kids. There are good variety of animals, wad surprised to see a mountain lion. The place is kept clean. There are rattle snakes, farm animals, deer, bear, lion and more. Always great fun to visit this zoo and the park in general
Awesome zoo! We loved it, our toddlers loved it. The price is awesome. It is small but there is a lot of animals to see. Including 2 bears, 2 cougars and a giant tortoise. Along with many other neat animals. They also had a free goat petting zoo. It was a very relaxing, educational day at the zoo. Highly recommend.
Had a blast. A fantastic day trip for anyone trying to get outside and have some fun.
Nice little zoo, and they even have plants on display. However, it seems that many animals here are weary of screaming little humans trying to get a reaction from them:( definitely coming again on a less crowded day
Not a big, it is the local small zoo. Very good for younger children. But price is only 2$ per person!!

Not much of a Zoo, very small, but for kids I think it's fun. It also is surrounded by a nice park, all in all, nothing special you can't find arround the area except for the animals of course. They have two small ponds with many ducks, you can also rent bikes, take horse rides with a guide and take a short train ride (7 min, not worth it).
Amazing zoo, such great animals, black bears, bald eagles, ocelots, mountain lions. A great place to take kids.

Gorgeous place, went today and had sooo much fun! Great family park! Lots to do and the zoo was so cool!
What a hidden gem. You can get up close and watch keepers feed and care for the animals. This is a rescue zoo and very well maintained. A very small fee to enter. All $ goes to the care of these animals.
Go check it out and support the little critters. It’s a couple dollars to get in and the parking for the park is I think $5 while you’re there do the scavenger hunt. Worth it and makes you have to be aware and read the info of the animals. And you get a little fun prize if you you get them
Very small zoo but tons of things to do since is inside a park
This is a very nice zoo. Very inexpensive! Especially for the price the zoo is located within a big park. It's a great place to spend the whole day with the family. I highly recommend!
Great little zoo in a large park of rolling hills. I appreciate the small size of the zoo for my littles. We can roam the park grounds and play at the many different play grounds after.
Orange County Zoo is a great little spot to see some exotic wildlife up close. The day I went, I did not have to pay anything to go view the animals. There is quite a wide variety of different species to see, some of which you can interact with. This place is perfect to bring your kids too, and teach them about the animals!

Entrance fee is only $2 and you can actually see the animals rather than them being hidden. We loved the keeper chat, which was informative and interactive and it brought out the animals for us to see. The baby goats petting zoo was so fun and relaxing. Definitely check out this place! You get so much value for the money!

For $2, how can anyone complain? They didnt even charge for my small kids. Cant even get ice cream anymore for $2. Good variety of animals and alot more reptiles than i would expect. Huge park, have to pay a small fee to go in. Lots of playgrounds, a small museum, there is a small lake/pond and a snack shack. Anyone who gives this place less than 5 stars is a self righteous tool.

Small and nice for kids. Has a goat petting zoo. Cheap to get in. Can be done in an hour but there's a lot to do outside in the park, too!
$1–5
Such a hidden gem in OC! This is a great place to take your kids, but I also had a fantastic time. It's only 2 bucks to get in, you can walk the small property in less than an hour, and get up close to the animals! It's very stroller friendly, partially shaded, and the staff is very personable. They post feeding times too and interactions so you can be there when they are feeding the golden eagles or mountain lions! There is also a small petting zoo with some goats.

Nice place to take the kids to see the animals. Kids have fun activities to do while walking around the zoo.
Great place! It's much more than just your basic park. They have horses.. trains... golfing.. great place to hike, walk and bike. They have picnic tables too. The only downfall is the parking. Since its an awesome park parking is scarce.
It's a nice *small* zoo. I was there for Star Wars day. It was very crowded. Even dealing with the crowds, the staff was professional and very friendly. If you're going to be at the park for any reason, you should probably spend the $2 per adult and spend a little time watching the mountain lions and the bear.
Such a nice spot to take your kiddos for an afternoon zoo trip! Staff are all very friendly and educated on all the animals! Super Covid friendly and clean. Best to go during the week versus weekend, less busy.
$1–5
Only $2.00. Fabulous place to take children and very covid-19 prepared and safety precautions utilized. Excellent experience.
It's a small zoo but it has great zookeepers and the animals seem cared for. They have animals to pet out and about such as opossums or snakes. They have a petting zoo with goats as well. Great for toddlers. Located inside the Irvine Regional Park so you do have to pay for parking but the admission is so reasonable it is not a huge deal.
Compact, lots of animals, newly renovated entrance... petting zoo is still closed but what's open is still worth spending $2 per person.
Love it my kids had a good timeb????????????????????????????????????????????
The line was long and the staff took a while to check people in. The weekend is the worse time to go, just to find parking took 20 minutes. A lot of kids and parents who let them run wild, they don’t social distance like they should. For the price the zoo was worth it.
They have most of the animals, the kids gonna love it
Great little zoo, not a lot of animals, but enough for a good hour or more, price is right. Younger kids will enjoy.
For a 2 dollar entry fee, it's worth it. They have story time and a petting zoo for the kids.
So easy to take the kids to the zoo. It's cheap and convenient and there's plenty of cool stuff around the park to do after you're finished looking at animals.
It’s fantastic place for kids to see the animal and even pet and feed them. The people who works there are super nice sometimes they bring some of the animal outside so so kids can see them closely which is a great experience for kids.and the ticket is just $2.
Such a great little zoo. We loved it there.
My grandson and I had a great time ⏲ He loved the animals ????
Small but well worth the 3 bucks or so, entry fee. They have mountain lions and a bear and a few other animals. Younger Children will love "combining the goats" ????
Please free these bears....they are so sad in there ????

Such a cool little zoo tucked in a great park. Super affordable and had nice exhibits. I'm looking forward to the new exhibit opening up. I will definitely bring the family back.
Nice little zoo for babies and toddlers. Perfect for walking around with a double stroller. Awesome before or after nap time. The petting zoo was a hit with the little ones. The only drawback is the restrooms are a distance away from the zoo.
Really cool they have amazing animals and the entry was only 5 dollars ???? ????????I went to another zoo a while ago and they charged 20 each person and their barely was any animals. But this one was the opposite. Very awsome zoo

Went back to the park for the zoo awesome only 2 dollars to get in ao mych fun thank you
Great zoo and park to take the family and hang out.
Great way to entertain younger kids for cheap. Local animals that they might never see up close otherwise. Saw some nice educational "entertaiment" while the keepers gave a talk in front of the mountain lion cage to show everyone how they take care of them.

It’s Closed until further notice but I didn’t find that out till I drove all the way out here. Please post accurately online

The zoo was all decorated for Halloween. It was clean and lots of different animals for the kids to see, including a petting zoo. The staff is friendly and willing to teach about the animals. Only drawback is the parking. When the zoo is busy, you may have to park quite a bit away from the zoo itself. But, you may enjoy it, if you are up for a stroll! It was a nice way to spend the afternoon.
The cost is $2 for everyone over 2. The zoo is newly renovated and has a brand new bathroom, updated animal enclosures, and a one way path due to covid. It is a small zoo that normally has a petting zoo and feed stand. All the animals in the facility are rescues and the park operates primarily on donations. Well worth the price!!!
It's small but my two year old granddaughter enjoyed it. Petting area still not open.
Fun little zoo. Has all the US native wildlife. Not too big, but it was also very inexpensive. My 2 year old had a blast and it was just the right size to see everything before he was ready to go. Also has a goat petting zoo.

What a great little zoo! It has animals found in southern California. Nice displays, but a some are a a bit small. Nice place for kids to see what roams their streets (coyotes). I would go back again.

The OC ZOO is a hidden gem nestled in Irvine Regional Park. If you've visited or live in OC, you understand nothing is cheap and anywhere you go, prepare to spend a minimum of twenty-forty dollars per activity regardless if it's for your children's or adult entertainment. But not the OC Zoo, with a lofty entrance fee of two dollars, you will walk on and walk in smiling. This Zoo will make you nostalgic of your 80s/90s childhood; you will find yourself taking in the sights of 150 animals, and a Mountain Lion, Grizzly and Black Bear are not just the highlights. If you have a 'Where is Waldo' eye for Peacocks, then just follow their cries! The Staff is friendly and informative, and on a good day, they will bring out snakes, owls, and other animals for you to pet or look up close. It's educational, interesting, and most of all relaxing. You will find yourself wanting the explore the remaining Regional Park, and that too does not disappoint. Go, take your kids, your date, or yourself for a bit of 'nature escape', put your phone down and enjoy.
Small but super entertaining! Could spend more then 2 hours here. The variety of animals here is great! Also for families it is quite inexpensive!
Love that it's a rescue zoo
Can't beat heading to this place for the kids. My wife and I were out for a conference in Anaheim and spent a nice morning at the zoo with our one year old. There aren't tons of animals by any means but lots of cool exhibits that you can get up close to and also a petting zoo. We spent about two hours here but were impressed with the quality- nice animals, clean facilities, and at a great price. We also had lunch in the adjacent park since we already paid to get into that to get to the zoo. Highly recommend for a nice sunny day and for a fun couple hours with the family.

Great little zoo w an even Greater price for entry.
This is a small zoo, but I love it for my kids that are a bit young. The petting zoo is nice and my kids love feeding the animals. The price is cheap so we go often to pass the time or enjoy a nice family outing.

Best $15 I spent as well as time well spent with my kids!

We loved this little place! I really enjoyed hearing About animals from our area and the fact that all the animals are rescues that wouldn't survive on the will. We went on a Wednesday and it was perfect.
Weekend
Nice local and injured animals. With a dash of exotic. Lots of reptiles.

Nice place to visit for a weekend. The zoo is located in the regional park and there are lots of others activities to enjoy besides the zoo. The entrance fee for the park is $5 and $2 for the zoo. The zoo itself is not so huge, but it was enjoyable with my little son.
Small but easy to walk around with kids. The bears were putting on quite the show. Peacocks were about. There were docents with owls, opossums and more. Hard to see animals in captivity, but these are rescues? The African Sulcata Tortoise was really beat up. Hoping he has a better life here. There is a petting zoo and the kids are able to feed the goats. Great deal for $2.00.
Small zoo, but a variety of animals. Kids had alot of fun!
It's a small zoo, but there's a variety of different animals. And entry is only $2, so would definitely recommend a visit there.
We love it here! Even though we are out in Riverside, we love dropping by Irvine park and must always say hi to the animals at the zoo when we do. The best part is we are a member of the Santa Ana zoo, so it is free! We highly recommend this, as it gives you free access to a lot of other zoos, or 50% off the ones that aren't free (like LA and SD). Make sure to bring some quarters with you for the goats! My daughter (and me of course :)) love feeding the goats. They are very gentle, and full of spit. After the petting zoo, seeing the bears and mountain lions are always impressive. We have been lucky to see them active many times. We still can't believe how huge the mountain lions are when they get close. We highly recommend the OC zoo, it is small and intimate and you can get a lot crammed in, in just a little time.
So much fun! Soo many great animals and Hello $2! Money well spent. Line moves fast.
We did not know about this. Beautiful park and the OC Zoo.
$1–5
The zoo is temporarily closed right now, but I have been there many times and love it. Its great for kids; fun and educational.
Nice small zoo, great for kids, only $2 for entry

Great place to go with little kids. Easy to see in an hour or two. The petting area with goats is always a hit. Inexpensive admission makes it an easy quick trip.
Great family experience! Small and intimate with great exhibits!

Love to come here with my kid. Best yime to come was in the morning because all the animals were out.
Nice small zoo to visit while at the Irvine Park. There is a wide variety of animals from bears to reptiles. The zoo is small and you can see everything in an hour or less. Make sure to get there early because parking can be really tough at this park after morning hours.

They stop selling tickets at 3:30 sharp, but my family and a few others received a voucher to come back and it was a lot of fun especially for my kids.

Price is right for $2 admission to get into the zoo. We were able to watch presentations of Bobcats and owl right when we arrived to the zoo. My son loved the reptile exhibit. They had petting zoo.
I love coming to the zoo. The animals are well cared for and fed. The keepers will answers any questions you have, even when your children start asking questions like "do you want a different job?" Mid week there is no crowds so it's like you have the place to yourself.
This “zoo” is small and by no means exotic. But it is well worth the price of admission. My 2 yr old loved seeing the animals and the petting zoo. Once you get tired of the zoo you are in the Kiddle of a great park!
$1–5
Great Zoo! My wife and I brought our 7 month old daughter here this past weekend. They have it set up as following a path to see all the animals and keep it covid safe, it was wonderful! They have a great mix of animals, knowledge plaques that are easy to read, plus they are expanding the large mamal section so in the next year it should be better! Definitely bringing our daughter back after she's old enough to enjoy it! Plus being in Irvine Park makes it great to make a full day of it with renal bikes, the train and a picnic!

Small amount of animals but they are very close so you can see them much better. Very well kept too.
It was fantastic. The zoo, the park, the railroad. So much to do. It was great with a 4 year old.

By no means is this tiny place comparable to a LA/SD type zoo, but for a mere $2 it's a great way to spend an hour with the kids! The petting zoo portion at the end is really what makes it worthwhile. 25¢ pellet machines allow you to feed the goats. Another enclosed area allows you to walk in the same area as the goats and pet them.
This is a really nice zoo to come to with very young kids or if you just want a cool place to walk around for an hour or two. The price is really reasonable too - $3 to enter Irvine Regional Park and then $2 for adults with kids 2 and under free. The habitats are very natural and the zoo features animals native to California. There's even a small petting zoo. There are often volunteers walking around with animals (like snakes) that will provide hands-on experiences and a bit of education about the animals as well.
Only $2 per person! It took about an hour to go through the whole zoo but it was fun. It was nice that it was one way so that we could social distance (during covid). The mountain lions woke up right when we got to their section. It was cool to see them literally 4ft away. Great way to spend a couple bucks.

Quaint little zoo that gives you way more than your money's worth! Between the train, rental bikes, pony rides, and massive park surrounding the actual zoo, there's plenty to do and see. And the grounds are well kept and beautiful to explore.

We recently moved to Orange County and although I had lived here before (a long time ago), I'd never visited this zoo before and I was missing out! Unlike all the other big zoos around, this little 8 acre gem in the middle of Irvine Regional Park is easy to access and has great animals you get to see super up close! The enclosures ensure the animals have space and can find peace away from prying eyes, but they also let you get pretty close up of the animals allow it. With Covid-19, we felt really protected by the mask requirements, the one way system, and the frequent wipe downs of the railings, not to mention the many hand sanitizer stations throughout the zoo. If you have 3 hours to spare or even 1, this is a great place to get to know some common animals you might not see in other zoos but not in your backyard, as well. We saw a beaver for the first time in real life. How have I never seen a beaver at another zoo? Because people want to see exotic animals! There are some of those, but the coolest thing is to see animals here you didn't think you could get excited about, but you soooo can! Anyway, $3 to get in the park and $2/person for the zoo. It was $11 for all of us to have an enjoyable, educational afternoon spent in the OC Zoo. Oh, bring lots of water! It gets hot and dry out there!
Perfect place to go to spend time outside! They have it set up for one way only, and only allow a certain number of people in at one time to help maintain social distancing. Definitely something to see again while finding things to do with my toddler!

Great little zoo for 2.00. Kids enjoyed it.
Parking sucked, drove a while to find a spot. But walking through the park instead of following the pavement is really quick. Like others say, place is small but had a good variety. Animals and reptiles cared for, good enclosures even for birds. Price is great for the adventure. Even had people walking around, employees, with a bird you couldn't touch and one with a possum the kids could gently pet. They educated the kids about them which was really great. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Next time we have the grandkids we will be back!!!
Weekday
I love taking my grandkids here. The zoo is small but just big enough to keep the little ones attention as to not get bored to easily. It also has a small petting area where you can have them feed the goats, pet them, and brush their fur. My grandkids (ages 5 and 22 months) love it...and so do I. ????
Super cute place can't wait till they finish with the remodeling
The zoo is pretty good for such a small zoo. It has mountain lions, bears, coyotes, bobcats, and a relatively large selection of reptiles. It emphasizes wildlife native to southern California. I particularly recommend the petting zoo with goats.
So many different animals for an amazing price. 2 dollars per person is an amazing price to see all the different animals plus you get to pet the goats
Nice zoo and such a great park
Best zoo anywhere for $2. You can actually see the animals. Very clean.

Nice and short but sweet! Can't get a better value for only a few bucks. Perfect for smaller kids and can visit multiple times as a reward and the best part is that it is inside of the regional park where there is so much to do. Parking can be a challenge so you may have to walk a little. You have to pay (per vehicle) to enter the regional park so be prepared for that. I think there are some discounted days, but check the website.
Very small but absolutely perfect for the price and the time. Having a young toddler and going to the zoo is exhausting and its ALOT of walking. This zoo has a decent variety and a beloved favorite of my son's, bears. It's small and quaint so I feel comfortable letting him walk on his own with minimal carrying. He loved the animals and instead of missing stuff we were able to see everything because of the size. Afterwards is super close to a toddler playground and place you can get food if needed. Definitely enjoyed and will return!
My two year old really liked the petting zoo. It's very small but perfect fit a toddler with a short attention span. I let him lead us and be had a ball. Also so much more affordable than the LA or San Diego Zoo. Thank you!
