At the moment this business gets a score of 4.6 over 5 and that score is based on 127 reviews.
As you can read, its rating is almost the highest, and it's based on a high number of scores, so we may say that the rating is very credible. If people have bothered to evaluate when they are happy with the service, it works.
As you know, we do not usually bother to give tatings when these are positive and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or issue...
This Zoo corresponds to the category of Zoo.

They didn't have many animals out, and half of the places to enter had been closed. It's not the same as I remember thats for sure. But all in all we had a good time.
Parking fee $15,and most of other attractions are chargeable.Zoo closes at 5pm, comparing other City zoos I think this could have been better in terms of value for money.
Good price but there were a lot of closed or empty animal exhibits outside. However, we loved the indoor exhibits with the fish and reptiles! The lions and the tiger exhibits were awesome too. They were active and made for great entertainment. Definitely worth going to because you can see the animals up close.
Such a fun zoo! It's has a ton of neat animals to see. We only had a couple of hours to spend here, and I wish we could have spent longer! Definitely stop by here if you are in the area.
Always will be a favorite place to stop when in Milwaukee. Field trips as a kid were some of the best memories. All staff are super friendly and answer questions about the animal's or park.
Been going for years and love. Just seems less animals and dirty. For example glass on exhibits could be cleaned . I realize inside part is harder but it is possible. Would really spark it up. Starting to show age. But always find something to love.

Definitely one of the better zoos that I've been to. I have a pass, which makes it incredibly affordable for my family of 4 to go throughout the year. Free ride tickets when you have a pass as well. Worth every penny!!!

I had a wonderful time going through the different animal exhibits. It wasn't too crowded and paying for tickets and parking was easy. I enjoyed riding the ski lift, seeing the zoo from above. It was also fun seeing the different Halloween decorations throughout the zoo. I also got to feed the penguins and the zoo keeper was very nice and knowledgeable. I spent over 5 hours at the zoo!
I'm always depressed when visiting the Milwaukee Zoo. Most of the enclosures are way too small. I've never understood why anyone likes it. The elephants always make me cry.

we had a great experience with our family visiting this zoo. It’s like the zoo in a forest all around green, beautiful nature. It wasn’t crowded and kids could enjoy the scenes of animals. I like the conditions they keep in animals. Absolutely wonderful place for families with kids
Alot of exhibits closed, food place closed, were a mask indoors ,72.00 dollars to get in ! Really 3 adults and 1 child.
Not sure
Edit: it's a bummer they stopped enforcing the mask requirement for buildings. Not sure if this is lack of staff or a policy change, but given how tight those spaces get, it makes it unsafe to see the indoor exhibits. A number of exhibits have gotten old, but the new ones they've been building are all wonderful. You can easily spend a whole day here and not run out of stuff to do and see. The staff / volunteers are all really helpful.
$16–20
It has been a few years since I have been here. Because of covid restrictions some areas were off limits. It also rained. I misseda few of my favorites. Hippo haven and otter passage were new for me and I loved both. Also on special exhibit were animal super powers. Animals created out of Legos. The creator is an absolute genius. It was well worth the extra to see.

Very affordable, clean and easy to access! Food was good and priced just right. I have been to different zoos that charge way too much for what they call food. The park was nicely decorated for fall and Halloween. The perfect scary for kids. Also a huge shout out for the breast feeding stations placed throughout the zoo!. If I remember correctly there are three around the zoo. The stations have a small table that you can pop up and place your breastpump if you should need to also pump, which means yes they do have an outlet inside of them! Stroller rentals available. Handicap accessible at animal houses.
Each zoo has its own beauty. That's why I could not compare it with any other. I enjoyed seeing the beautiful African tiger, elephants, giraffes, and the sleeping red panda.

Very nice place there are alot of animals , I have enjoyed it .
The Zoo was excellent with a wide variety of animal exhibits. Was appreciative of the large areas set up for large animals. My favorite exhibits were the aquariums and aviary. Excellent place to bring children.
My favorite zoo. Been going here for 35 years. For the past 12 years now, I buy a family pass and bring my son here. It's great just for exercise and in all weather conditions. The new elephant exhibit looks great! Hopefully the Hippo remodel won't be such a flop like the last renovation. Been a while for the big cats remodel but it's still worth mentioning. I do miss the kangaroos. And the reptiles and fish could use some updates. I'd like to see that little electronic game/map I think in the fish building working. It's been about 15 years+. Picture taking is always fun and challenging. Still a few animals I haven't gotten a good photo of all these years...

The reptile house is how I judge a zoo and I was very happy. They have a horned viper which is my favorite snake. Lots of activities at the zoo, probably one of the best zoos I've seen for diversity of activities, particularly the sky obstacle course. I've seen train rides at zoos before but this one was very well priced comparatively. Overall, one of the best zoos I've ever visited. That said, they are losing a lot of money having all the food places and stands closed. Only one place to get food was at the entrance of the zoo. So take your own in a cooler. The picture of the Fennec Fox was taken without flash.

They should keep their hours how they used too. Even with some things closed, we didn't have time to ride the train cause the lines were so long. But I love this zoo!! They have the dinosaur exhibit right now.

Not very exciting! During our two-day visit to the State of Wisconsin, we began our first day visiting the Milwaukee zoo. I'm gonna rate this zoo with 3-stars. And the reason why I don't find this zoo happening has some reasoning. Previously I had been to zoos in multiple states so comparatively Milwaukee zoo offers limited possibilities. Currently, they are open only at about 50% capacity meaning some enclosures are still not open to the public, so considering only the open enclosures, I can say that the zoo is good only for one time visit, at least with what the zoo is offering at present. The aviary was incredibly small, with just a few birds to attend to. I was expecting an aviary with bird feeding options, more time with the birds. Although there was a safari ride, we couldn't avail of it for we arrived here very late. The zoo was open only until 4 pm & we arrived pretty late here so we only had a couple of hours to cover most of the exhibits. Towards the end of the day, there was a huge waiting line at the souvenir store. I’d suggest coming here on time unlike us, so you don't have to rush to cover all sections of the zoo. On that day, the weather wasn't in our favor either. It was freezing for late springtime. Food options were scarce! Somewhere in the middle of the day, we found a few cafes that too with limited resources. The drive to the zoo isn't greatly panoramic. So overall, a 3-star rating for the zoo & its exhibits. #RoadTrip #Wisconsin

it's a great place to visit over weekend...Toy train, air trolley, pony ride are the key activity highlights but the main attraction is obviously the large collection of fauna (fishes, reptiles, birds, small mammals, big cats etc.

First time here, zoo was nice and most of the animals were available to be seen. They are asking you wear masks inside buildings, my issue is the building feel like they are 100°. Food was open, traffic to get in the zoo was a nightmare, over all we had a good time.

We always have a great time here. My family has been zoo members for 2 years and we love all the perks that come with that. Parking lot and zoo are both clean and safe. I wish there were more food options but with COVID-19 restrictions, it is understandable why things are the way they are currently.

What a great zoo! Surprised me on how well kept the zoo was, they take great care to make the animal habitats spacious and clean. The size of the zoo is not overwhelming, a good walk for a day trip with kids. The zoo is very family friendly, multiple nursing facilities for new moms, restrooms located around every corner, multiple restaurants, what else can I say.... One of the best zoos I’ve been to recently!

Keep in mind we went at night, so the price here reflects that. It was also an adults-only night. There were "beer gardens" all over the place. But hey, when you want an extra quiet adults-only date night, the extra price is worth it. Was seeing the Wild Lights walkthrough, and it was worth the price. Just a word of advice, though. Bring extra cash if coming with little ones. During this event, the train and carousel are lit up brighter than the Christmas trees. And you are going to want to see what is hidden, I think on that train ride. I've added it to my list of things to do next year. Keep in mind once you are in you leave when you want to. Walk the lit paths as much as you want. Want to look @ something more closely? Come back later when less crowded. Take your time to enjoy the sights it's well worth your time
I've never come to the zoo during winter before, I highly recommend it. I went later in the afternoon through closing time and we were able to see many animals interacting with the zoo keepers for feeding time. We were able to watch the penguins line up and eat fish one at a time. They mostly waited patiently and took turns, it was really special to watch. The Giraffes were inside and very curious, one poked his head out to say hi. My daughter enjoyed the relatively empty trip, no crowds with a lot of animal activity going on. You should consider a quintet trip if you have never taken one!

My visit on 7/19/21 was a rather large disappointment. There was a small handful of outdoor exhibits that had animals in them. The indoor ones (small mammals & lions) were also disappointing as well. Would have been less stars, but I wanted to at least give some credit to the few guides and helpers that were friendly.
I love our zoo .always updating for the best! New hippo area is amazing. Great to see all the lux stuff for out hippos like auto warm up showers for them..heated! Love that! Have taken kiddos now on to grandkids..a must do at least once in summer.pass is best if multiple times.

Truly a wonderful visit with the animals. There are outside and inside exhibits, which allow to be socially distant and safe. Great way to celebrate a birthday as well! Consider getting a membership since it’ll pay for itself after a couple visits and helps support the organization. We have particularly enjoyed it while visiting in the winter months as to combat cabin fever.

The Milwaukee Zoo is a very good place to spend about 4 hours. Going in August, it was really nice that a good majority of the zoo is shaded. In fact, the entire north section is like being in a forest. You get really close to the animals here. There's quite a variety ranging from penguins and seals to a wide swath of primates to various fish and reptiles and a whole host of large mammals (bears, cats, ungulates, giraffes). There's even a sizable farm area where you can feed goats. Some unusual things: - They have a ropes course near the main entrance - There's a short zip line as well - Some of the exhibits have multiple types of animals (generally African) - There are multi-level exhibits. The lions are behind the kudus and in an exhibit about 8-10 feet higher - You can feed giraffes for $5 - We saw cow milking - There's a sky lift which takes you over a central part of the zoo - There's a lot of space between exhibits in the north section - makes it feel remote Only real downside is things are expensive - and it would be a stretch to spend a whole day here.
Went on a Saturday. Super crowded, lots of kids and strollers but that can be expected on a weekend. Very clean zoo. Prices I would say were reasonable. 16$ per person and 15 for parking. It was really hot and sunny. I regret not wearing a hat.

Definitely a great place to visit if you're visiting Milwaukee I came during winter so a lot of the animals where in hibernation and sadly a few of them died not long ago (old age thankfully) and areas where closed for the season so I'm guessing I missed a few more animals but the ones available where Great ????still a great place to visit, price is just ok around 15 ish dollars per person kids pay slightly less and you have to pay parking not so good IMO probably the first place i had to pay for parking.
Everything a zoo should be!! Check the website for parking, admission and hours. Milwaukee county residents get free days so look for those too. I always enjoy walking through the zoo. The flowers and plants are lovely. There are many shady places to sit and rest. But wear comfortable shoes because it is a large zoo. There are playgrounds and children’s play areas. You can see so many kinds of animals here! My favorites are the flamingoes, the large cats, the giraffes, and the birds. The reptiles and fish are great as well. You can ride the train, ride a carousel, and see animals being fed. It’s a great place to reconnect with nature.
We liked the zoo a lot. We didn't get to see everything because we had to start heading home but it was so nice! Very big. Do wish their gifts hops had a little bit more. I would of loved to get a pin but there wasn't any. Just kind of limited in that area.

Not the biggest zoo but it was a good price and surprisingly clean compared to other zoo's we have been to. Family had a good time.
Nice zoo, plenty of things to see, clean and well organized. We went on a Monday, it was not very busy, nice not to have to deal with crowds. Maybe because of this or maybe covid, but some of the eateries were closed, and sea lion shows were not offered.
Always love a great zoo. But we were there for the light display. Absolutely wonderful. We even road the train.
We loved this Zoo! We we’re only in town for a few days and this was the highlight of the trip. It was so clean there are a lot of animals and the playground is awesome. 100% recommend.

Took some friends who were visiting town & it was my first visit too. We had a great day! Very clean, well maintained exhibits, walkways & buildings. Some food carts, restaurants and gift shops are currently closed due to COVID regulations, but that was to be expected & is noted on their website. There's a lot to see here and the staff was extremely knowledgeable and very helpful. They offer in-county discounts for local visitors & tickets and parking were reasonable cost.

Nice zoo and was able to see alot animals. They have many attractions inside the zoo now like the train ride ($5/pp) with a guide and you get to go around the entire zoo and see animals and hear some background stories. They have a lift that takes you up high ($3/pp) to see the animals from the top, it was nice but since I'm not a big fan of heights, a little scary for me, my 8 year old loved it a lot. They also have a rope course and zip lining ($27/pp). The zip line is very short though, maybe 5 to 7 seconds only. The entrance fee for not a Milwaukee resident is $16.75 and child is $14.75 plus parking is $15. Overall it was a nice way to spend the day and see some animals.
Best zoo in Wisconsin! I’d plan about 2-3 hours for the trip. Lots of exhibits to look at. Train & carousel. Will recommend bringing spare change for the goat exhibit

Haven't been here since mid 90s in middle school. Was kinda disappointed in what was available to see, most of the food stands around the grounds were not open,, and not happy to be forced to wear a mask inside the exhibit buildings.

On our 2 day trip we decided to stop at the zoo even though it was a bit chilly. We still enjoyed ourselves. A smaller zoo, reminds me of Lincoln Park zoo. Not a ton of animals but the ones they had were active for the most part. Required masks for indoors although. Any people took it upon themselves to ignore this rule. Most food stands were closed. I did love the fact that you could pay for the parking $15 and the entry to the zoo 16.75per adult at the same time before entering the parking lot. More places should do this. Overall a good zoo and we got a nice workout walking around.
Nice little zoo. No food available except popcorn and ice-cream. Not crowded during our visit. Masks required indoors and occupancy limits for each building, although most people ignored the occupancy limits. Most did wear masks indoors, though. Clean grounds and restrooms.

The zoo have done alot of renovations and some of the new exhibits are very nice . Seeing the hippos was a favorite of the grandkids.
For the size of the city of Milwaukee, this is an incredible zoo! They've been expanding and making upgrades for the last several years and they've made what felt like a quaint little zoo into quite the attraction. You could spend the whole day here with a family. There's a wonderful family farm area that includes an ice cream shop, interactive areas for kids, and an area where you can walk around with goats and feed them (for a small price for the feed). The playground area is massive and includes attractions for kids of all ages. I've even seen many adults get a kick out of some of the playground equipment. The new otter exhibit is such an improvement on the old set up. Otters can now swim right in front of you with the only thing separating you being the glass. Kids really get a kick out of this. They have several giraffes and even offer opportunities to feed the giraffes up close and personal. As more and more upgrades are made, it's clear that the zoo is working to get people closer and more personal with the animals. Of course, you need to keep your distance from some of the animals. But the ones they can get you closer to, they're definitely working to make happen.

If you do some research you can always find FREE days! We take advantage whenever possible.(still have to pay for parking!) Will be back soon
Good to know stuff: If you have any kind of food allergy I recommend bringing your own food. After we got there we found out that most of the restaurants were closed. It felt like a lot of the enclosures are closed or the animals were inside and you cannot see them. Most pop/water machines were not working or filled, hard to keep hydrated. Overall ok, I recommend the zoo if you do not want to spend all day at the zoo like you would in Brookfield zoo

My daughters and I love coming here. Especially, on the really hot days. Not too many people there. We're originally from Arizona so the heat does not bother us. My two daughters love seeing the cats. The last couple times we went not many animals were out. Keep up the great work staff!
Fun time, the line was long for parking and it was a big zoo so alot of walking but cool things to do all around it. Feeding the seal was definitely a new cool experience, there's a lot of people on the weekends so recommend going during the week so you don't have to deal with a lot of people around but definitely recommend to bring the kids to for a day.

What a great place to take the whole family. The zoo has a lot to offer, it’s not overly big but covers most animals. As you can see in the photos, there are some amazing giraffes, hippos, penguins, bats, polar bears, monkeys, birds, and so much more. There are information plaques are very educational for everyone. Some zoos make them basic and dumbed down. The zoo closes at 4:30 so if you want to spend a day there, get there early. Enjoy yourself!

The bathrooms are easy in an easy out even for those in scooters. Don't worry if you're a new mom they have breastfeeding pods in numerous parts of the Zoo. Plus if you don't want to bothered packing a picnic there's lots of eating options at the zoo. Also a non driving adult may want to enjoy one of the craft beers available at many of the kiosk throughout the zoo. One of the best things about the Milwaukee Zoo compared to other zoos is the volunteers. You will ???? them. They have Information on your favorite animal. Haven't been to this zoo in many years. Several attractions, like the train are just like I remember them. So many great upgrades! Only wish a few more food vendors were open, but I understand staffing & it being a Monday were a factor.
Great Zoo, Our son always has a blast, and they currently have a lego exhibit, it's an extra $3 if you aren't a member, but it was pretty neat, and my son is currently obsessed with Legos so he was completely amazed. They do currently have most of the apes exhibits closed just a heads up. But everything else was open.
The MKE Zoo is an awesome place to visit any time of the year. All of the facilities and exhibits are well taken care of. Although some exhibits could use some freshening up and modernization, the zoo is definitely upgrading and creating a better experience for the visitors and the animals themselves as they get better homes in which to live. I highly recommend this zoo to anyone in the area or visiting from out of town. This is a great place to learn and be immersed in the wonderful world of animals. Tickets and parking may be expensive but it goes towards a great cause of conservation and habitat rebuilding. The Elephants, Hippos, Otters, and a few others have all received new homes to live in within the past few years and the zoo is definitely making a change for the better.

We had a wonderful time here. Spent about six and a half hours. We saw every exhibit they had to offer. Watched elephants eat watermelons, otters swim with rocks on their heads, bears sleeping on hammocks, birds doing loops, peacocks, lions, giraffes, a huge aquarium area, this place has them all. The staff was very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. Had a couple cheeseburgers that were very tasty. There are enough indoor and shaded areas to keep you out of the sun if you get too hot. A great experience, and we're looking forward to doing it again sometime.

Nice sized zoo with a variety of animals. Most of the "extras" cost just that...about $5 extra...so be prepared if you've got young kiddos who want to try everything. :)

3.5 stars The zoo is enjoyable and well planed out, with it being so quite it was easy to see everything. Only real negative is $15 for parking is outrageous. Omaha Henry Dorly Zoo in Nebraska is 3 times the zoo this one is but parking is free making it the same cost for a couple. I dont mind almost any cost if its going towards animal/nature protects but since i didn't see any info that is whats happening with admission/parking i was annoyed.

The Milwaukee County Zoo is always a good time. We try going at different times to see different things. This time we went at 10am. We were able to see some of the animals getting cared for by staff. The Dole Whip is a must have! There are two flavors, Pineapple and Strawberry. Both are delicious! My grandson loves the playground. We ended out visit with a ride on the train. My daughter is a Zoological Member and there were 4 free rides included with her pass. The tickets are $3 which is not a bad price. Masks are required when going indoors but if you don't have one, there are some available courtesy of the Zoo.

First free day of the year. Check website for other monthly free days. There is no free parking on Blue mound Rd, only on side streets, meaning it's a hike back to the zoo entrance. Parking is $15.00. Basically, you grab a map & walk the zoo grounds. Lots of exercise & fresh air. Very few animals on display except in the buildings; bats, fish,& monkeys. Bathrooms open throughout the zoo, & the main cafeteria is open. Zoo gift shop is open. Not many people/families visiting. ???? are required. Because there weren't many people there, you are able to get close to the informational signs by the animal enclosures and really read them& learn some interesting information.

This place really fun I took my husband and little one and she had a fun time the animals look alive playing with one another and ones I have not seen and if you see a Peacock walking around don't worry they are friendly but I wouldn't try to pet them lol and they have food, drinks and if you forget a Stroller like I did it's only $7 and also have one for Adults and they have ones that move by themselves and have Strollers and wheelchair access to every building and to every Area to see all the animals freely with your family I will go again it close at 4pm and will not expect anyone pass 3:15pm at the gate so make sure you get there early enough it takes about good 4 hours to see everything so have fun and enjoy love it
Weekday
A lot of the snack vendors were closed, some buildings were closed, and quite a few exhibits were closed. Reminiscent of Lincoln Park Zoo in Chicago. It was a nice day out however, for hubby and I to get a walk in. I enjoyed the aviary. Where the birds are free to fly over you.

Milwaukee County Zoo really has come along way in their care for their animals and protecting them. They have updated their exhibits to be better and continue to update and provide a better living for the animals they do house! I love going, because it's educational and is one of my mothers favorite places to go!

As a kid I always used to come visit friends in the summer and we would always come here every year. I have been bringing my wife back since we were married. If I lived closer we would be members it’s a great zoo with fantastic staff that are always willing to help. You have to take the train and see the whole park we do it twice to see anything new and at the end to take a break. Very knowledgeable staff and if they don’t know something they will work to find out for you. Thanks for a great visit every time.
