This Zoo is classified in the category of Zoo.
Lots of walking, some of the walk was was not assembly due to flooding
Always clean, beautiful. Lots of walking, huge place. We always have a wonderful time.
It was a wonderful place to go with a couple of wonderful friends we had a great time
Next im in town I will definitely reserve more time
Not bad, not great. The bird aviary gets 5 stars, that was awesome. The predator birds was a disappointment, while they take birds from rehabilitation due to injuries, etc. the birds appeared bored, their dead mice dinner lay on the ground with flies all over it... ???? but I get it. Would have liked to see a larger aviary with trees for the haws and owls.
Has room to improve. But I'm sure with more support from the local community. It could be assisted to being a nice place to go on weekends
Amazing experience!
$16–20
Great place to take the kiddos!
This was a great stop at the botanical garden. All of the animals here are rescues that could not be released. Nice walk, large variety of wild and domestic animals. We'll worth the walk.
Pretty darn cool to go through in the daylight but we went specifically for Summer Lights and it was awesome. I'll post some pics shortly...
Great walk. Otters are adorable.
There were not many animals here, but I've never seen a bald eagle or an owl so I was impressed. Speaking with the staff, there is understanding and a hope for more at this zoo. The otters were great to watch. Providing instant entertainment with flips and staying near glass. I wished the butterfly garden was open. Would have easily made this a 5-star.
Great place to visit... you need more than a day to see everything! Wear good walking shoes and don't forget your camera...
Very nice place educational as well not to many animals out bur very beautiful marsh and greenery
Loved the bird area!
A wide variety of animals displayed very nicely. Easy walking paths.
I love this Zoo and really everything about Brookegreen Gardens. Will purchase an annual membership next year
We saw eagles, owls, alligator, foxes, goats - including baby goats!! And much more.. We loved it! What's great is that it's under large trees, so you're in the shade for a big portion of the walk.
Another amazing attraction at Brookgreen Gardens
My kids loved it
Weekday
Am excellent selection of native animals and some representative animals from a plantation. The trails between animal exhibits seemed a bit long; a few placemarker signs or info signs along the way would help. It's mostly shaded. My 2 year old liked most of it, but loved the nearby Storybook Forest.
This was a fun experience for me and my kids. My daughter enjoyed seeing the variety of animals and the habitats were amazingly well kept so I felt she was learning about proper habitats she might find these animals in. Most off their flying animals were rescues and had reasons to be in smaller enclosures.
Love this place been here twice there is alot to see L
We thoroughly enjoyed this little zoo. It takes about an hour or two to leisurely walk around and take several pictures. They have an area of animals that were found on the plantation and the rest of the zoo are animals that are common to South Carolina. Admission to the zoo is included with Brookgreen Gardens which is $18 (adult) for 7 days. There is also a Butterfly House but there is an extra charge for that $4 (adult).
This is an amazing trip back in time see the zoo but tale the ferry trip, so much history and so well cared for
Watch out for the wildlife! Look closely at the pictures.
A rainy day at the zoo. It was my first time at the zoo. I came in late in the day during the rain. But I still had fun. It's a nice little Zoo to walk the children around, or for bird lovers, senior friendly and an easy walk. Plus for price of admission you get admission to all the parks and museums enjoy it..

OMG ???? what a wonderful way to walkabout thank you MoMA Paula Green had a wonderful time on our visit
Its a nice little zoo. I love that they keep the animals outside in a more natural habitat rather than inside glass displays.
Amazing place. It's a must see.
Great combination with this and the gardens. Gave us something for everyone in the family to enjoy.
Zoo was quite small with few animals, but the grounds were beautiful.
A different kind of zoo. It has a nice walking trail so you can stroll through the woods and enjoy the sights and sounds of nature. There are several animals to enjoy as you walk along the path which includes Alligators, Bald Eagles, Grey Foxes, Hawks, Owls, Red Foxes, River Otters, White-Tailed Deer, Herons, Egrets and Ducks. Lowcountry Zoo also has a enclosed butterfly area during the summer months. Plan at least an hour for this self-guided tour.
We love visiting the zoo. Perfect for Toddlers who love to explore and visit animals
Great trails. Excellent habitats for animals and birds.
Peaceful, shady, great trail. Lived the bird sanctuaries
Love this place ❤
The zoo is just one section of the Brookgreen Gardens. Was a nice walk with multiple indigenous animals to see.
Very fun!

Great place to visit. Brookgreen Gardens
We really enjoyed this zoo. Great family fun.
This was so unexpectedly great. We ended up spending the entire day just wandering. The garden was fantastic and the animals were great. We especially liked the birds of prey rehab area.
Beautiful sculptures, gardens and a nice zoo of local animals found on farm land.
I had no idea that the ticket I purchased was good for 7 days! Great place for walking and plenty of shade. Great learning experience for all
Absolutely loved all the bird areas! I liked being able to walk in and see them close up. There was a snake in one of the bird enclosures, but he caused no harm while I was visiting. There were some small black bugs that kept sticking to me durring my visit, but they were just a minor annoyance. Some of the other predator birds were in medium sized enclosures, which I believe should have been bigger. The gazebo to view the deer and goat was closed off due to construction on the bee hives, so that was a bit disappointing. The goat had a dark coat, which is different from the white coat I'm used to seeing in Ohio.
Beautiful, serene, a must visit during your trip to Myrtle. A great place to get away from the hustle and bustle and crowds. Plan on dividing visit into at least 2 days, there's a reason why the admission tickets are good for a week. Large area to cover and mostly walking. Super friendly and informative staff. Several restrooms, a couple places to eat, or pack your own picnic and eat under the cafe shelter. We only got a chance to visit the zoo side due to having to evacuate because of hurricane Florence. Plan on returning to see the gardens/flowers/statues.
Nice little zoo exhibits. Not big or extravagant.

Educational and fun for The family. An old plantation land and has slave history.
What a wonderful experience! I strongly recommend Brookgreen Gardens and Zoo to anyone who appreciates beautiful scenery, sculptures and animals! This is the perfect place to unwind and take gorgeous photos!
Wonderful park. Nice exhibits of animals. Loved the aviaries. Good asphalt path for ADA access. Nice walk through the woods. Hint, also do the boat ride for an extra, but it is worth it.
Super good. Its beautiful, really enjoyd the experience.
A wonderful section of Brookgreen Gardens that we love to stroll around with our 11 and 6 yr old grandchildren. The River Otters are a favorite and the kids love to spot the foxes in their habitat.
Brookgreen Gardens and Zoo are beautiful! Be prepared to walk alot!
Great outdoor zoo with nice trail. Lots of rare animals and a couple very cool aviarys. Much bigger and better than I thought it would be. Kids had a blast and want to go back again. We saw goats that had just been born, drinking some of their first milk and attempting to stand up and walk around. Definitely will return when we come back to SC.
Beautiful place, great place to spend time lots to see
Such a relaxing place to come and just enjoy the beautiful scenery and animals
This was a fun place to walk around in a covid friendly environment. Many of the animals weren't visable but the walking paths are pretty and were worth a walk through while at Brookgreen.
Kids will love the zoo area and nature lovers will enjoy the gorgeous trees and flowers. Art lovers will appreciate the numerous sculptures that are everywhere. You could make a day of packing a lunch, walking around and then eating at one of the picnic tables near the butterfly garden. This would be a great area for family photos. Right now all the dogwood and azaleas are blooming.
Small, but well kept and well laid out. Tickets to the gardens are good for one week so buy them early in your visit.
Very nice exhibits with knowledgeable staff. Great fun!
Small, but really nice.
I went here as part of a trip to brookgreen gardens, and was really happy with the experience. They say it's a zoo, but it feels much less planned. We never saw any of the keepers except at the very beginning with the horse. We actually didn't really see any other people at all on a Sunday morning, which was ideal. I loved seeing the otters and the aviary walkthrough was awesome.
Beautiful Light Festival!!
Very nice little zoo
More than worthwhile... Not your traditional zoo but a beautiful walk among animals and birds that you may have heard of but not yet seen...
You can keep and use your tickets for up to six days
Good small zoo. The 2 aviaries are very nice. But the eagles, owls, and some of the other birds have pretty small enclosers and the birds look pitiful. (Granted they are disabled)
Respectful, thoughtful animal habitats. Simply beautiful!
We go at least once a month and always have a wonderful time. The animal variety is surprisingly vast and the staff is always nice. Otters, honeybees, owls, bald eagles, ducks, foxes, goats, horses, etc.
This is one of our new favorite places to visit with our kids. So many fun things for them to explore and learn.
$16–20
You can tell the animals are well cared for. Beautiful scenery, friendliest staff ever.
Amazing low key zoo. I'd go back again
Great green space whits wonderful sculptures and people
We only visited the zoo this trip and it was fun. Kids loved the otters....they are so playful.
If you are near by, this is one place where you have to stop by. It wasn't cheap, but worth every penny.
What an awesome place to go for relaxing walk and get to see amazing things
The zoo was very nice although we couldn't see all of it due to parts of it being flooded.
The Lowcountry Zoo has always been one of my favorite things to explore when visiting Brookgreen Gardens. The exhibits fit seamlessly into the landscape, providing a sense of wilderness and remoteness to the experience that heightens the excitement of seeing a few of the animals in their "natural" habitat. I also found the animal/zookeepers to be especially helpful and informative when it came to any of the questions I might have come up with while visiting the exhibits. This is a must-see attraction for anyone with young ones or with a youthful curiosity about nature in the surrounding area.
Amazing! Fun! Nice little hike in nature. Highly recommend. I could watch the otters play all day

Over half the animals couldn't be seen and the signs are a bit confusing but it's a beautiful spot.
A beautiful zoo featuring animals indigenous to the area.
Nice little zoo inside other attractions, expect to be there multiple hours, but well worth it.
Wonderful place.
$16–20
Weekday
It is nice but containment for eagles, owls, and red hawks truly needs to be bigger area and more of there environment they are normaly be in. The rest of area was good. It's a nice walk and interaction. I would still recommend the zoo. As well as gardens. Beautiful place!!
We love coming to the whole BrookGreens park, today we took our two grandson's to their zoo they loved it. Beautiful area, trees flowers and seeing the animals. We will be back.
Wonderful morning visiting with our grandkids.
Great place for kids and adults alike!
I was super disappointed. We didn't know we couldn't bring out dog with us. It cost me quite a bit to get in this place and we couldn't even enjoy it our 1.5 lb chihuahua was not allowed to be there so I honestly feel like I got ripped off.
Nice walk and local exhibits.
Small and comfortable for a great stroll. Kids will love it.
Fun place for the whole family
A nice walk through domestic animals of the plantations and also exhibits of native animals , ducks, otters raptors and more.
Part of the Brookgreen Gardens. Not your typical Zoo. Several birds of prey that have been injured and can't be released into the wild.
It was really a nice setting. The exhibits were set well. The walk through was easy to make. The bird area was excellent.
Very cute. Very clean. Friendliest otters I've ever seen!
Serenity of the animals and each individual habitat at the waking hour was most refreshing. Staff were never far from reach; it was an amazing experience.
Wait time
Great place to relax and spend some time. Good spot for the kids to run around too! And there always seems to be cool exhibits, shows, etc. happening.
That was a nice relaxing experience. My family and I really enjoyed it.

Birds, otters, gator, farm animals. Kids liked it
The otters were so sweet! Beautiful area, can't wait to go back in the spring.
Stopped at Brookgreen Gardens on the way to South Myrtle Beach four days ocean front @ Landmark Resort. The Gardens are in full bloom beautiful.
Nice little walking trail with animals doing their thing
Love Brookgreen Gardens. Amazing place. A must see????
Very nice. The gardens and statues was well designed. In the summer it can be very humid so dress accordingly.
Great place to visit with your family
This is a must stop in Myrtle Beach great for adults and kids
I absolutely loved this! The aviary was a great way to start out...even the giant spiders were interesting. We couldn't see an alligators, and I wish we had come on a cooler day (the animals didn't really want to move).
Weekend
Gorgeous area. Not a huge selection of animals, but the grounds were great
Beautiful trails and fun for all ages.

A bird watchers paradise! Amazing to see animals in their natural habitat. It’s great that the zoo is included in your admission to the gardens. It’s a two for one deal you don’t want to pass up. A beautiful walk on well manicured paths through multiple natural animal habitats. Highly recommended!
Nice place to bring children and learn about native animals.
Great time wandering around the exhibits, saw many of animals!
Fan-Freaking tastic. Awesome zoo and beautiful garden and sculptures. If your in Myrtle Beach, you have to visit this place
Nice quiet walk! Loved the otters!
Not sure
Cute little zoo. Admission is included with your ticket to Brookgreen.
We take my daughter here every year. Super neat little walk through zoo. The staff are friendly. I like the go at your pace atmosphere.
Animals are well maintained
Awesome place to visit, lots of walking paths!
Enjoyed a afternoon walking thru the zoo... beautiful sculpture around the walkways... several alligators seen..will return every trip.
Breathtaking views, and beautiful animals...
So beautiful!
Great place.
The staff, the volunteers were kind and informative. The signage for the zoo was great.
We love Brookgreen Gardens. We were so happy to find it. Nice break from Myrtle Beach.
Largest outdoor collection of American sculpture. Aluminum, bronze, and other media. Between the gardens, the artwork, the boat tour, and the small indoor museum, very worth the trip.
The lowcountry zoo is a small part of the larger Brookgreen Gardens. It's the perfect size for a short zoo outing. They specialize in display of domesticated animals that were commonly used during the plantation period of what later the Huntington property.
Wonderful zoo! I love the natural setting. Probably the prettiest zoo I've been to.
We love to visit the Brookgreen Gardens. The zoo and galleries are a nice augmentation to the grounds and history .
Great day trip. Young and old enjoy it equally!

Awesome time at Brookgreen's Summer Lights Festival. Not only did we get to see the great sculptures, but the lighted up various animals and plants were fantastic! Great place to bring the kids early on, and super area to walk around with the whole family!
It was a beautiful walk, and we did see some interesting and beautiful animals and birds. It seemed to be more child oriented and it seems like it needs a little work, but we enjoyed ourselves.
Super nice place. I had a black snake cross right in front of me.
Such a beautiful walk to go through the zoo. Definitely worth a visit!
Enjoy a day or even a week, pass is good for 7 days.
Really enjoyed hanging out with nature and her beautiful creatures. My favorite are the otters. They are so playful.
Weekday
Enjoyed walking through
My daughter loves coming here! Lots of animals and a great place to nature walk!
Perfect family afternoon spot! River otters are the cutest animals ever! playground keeps kids of all ages happy!
Lot of walking great sculptures. Zoo included in price small
There were only a few exhibits. You're mostly paying for the botanical gardens. The animals they did have were in very natural habitats and looked well cared for.
It was a lovely place. Probably prettier when everything is in bloom.
Wait time
Take advantage of the free tour offered daily to see the animals up close. They really come out to get fed.
Good atmosphere..cute play space for children with different play houses. Could use a little love and updating. It is actually inside a national park you pay for all attractions, we went for the zoo..wish they had more animals, the aligator, alligator,, other main animals were missing..only birds, a horse and goats!
Not to many animals to see but it is a beautiful walk
Great place to spend with the wife
This is part of Brookgreen Gardens. There are nicely paved walking trails through the forest where you can see various penned animals(deer, fox, otters, birds of prey etc.). You can also walk through a large bird cage. A trolley is available if needed.
Visiting from Ohio. Such a beautiful break from the beach scene. Our 1.5 year old LOVED to see the animals. We loved strolling through the woods of such a unique zoo.
Very cute for kids and older children can learn about the history of the area along with the animals.
A must visit in myrtle beach, perfect for a night adventure for the light shows or something to do on an overcast day. We spent over 6 hours exploring the gardens and statues, along with the amazing zoo that let's you get super close to some cool animals
Nature..there is nothing more soothing for your soul.
We absolutely love visiting the Lowcountry Zoo inside of Brookgreen Gardens. We think that it is great that the animals who have been injured have somewhere close to their natural habitat to live.
Great enjoyable place. Awesome views
It was nice until I saw a snake then I didn't finish I went back to the car and waited for my husband to finish
Lots of walking, but we'll worth it! A must stop for birders.
Nice walk in nature. Enjoyed seeing the animals.
Absolutely marvelous

I visit Brookgreen Gardens and the Low Country Zoo every opportunity I get. It is so peaceful and beautiful there. The animals and birds on display at the zoo are a wonderful representation of those found in the beautiful South Carolina Low Country. I highly recommend going. Ticket prices are reasonable and your tickets are good for a full 7 days.
Wonderful
A very neat experience different than any other zoo i have been to.
The Lowcountry Zoo was a fun experience! We weren’t sure what to expect, and didn’t even know there was a zoo at Brookgreen Gardens until we arrived. The area is very beautiful and serene. The signage in front of habitats is informative and educational. From birds, ducks, otters and foxes, to white-tailed deer and honey bees, there is a lot to see and learn! The area was clean and well-cared for. I would love to visit again if I return to the area.

Not many animals in the zoo.as recently advertised But Beautiful gardens with big old trees. little ponds and fountains. Many sculptures, trails and play areas. Informational with museums. Your ticket is good all week so you can take your time and enjoy it all. No butterflies yet
The zoo is located in Brookgreen Gardens. It is that most amazing Arboretum with hundreds of American sculptures. The restaurant on the premises is outstanding. Overall this is a 5 + rating must see!
A easy nature hike for little ones. We enjoy this most in the spring and fall when it isn't so hot.

Awesome place! Randomly walked up on a talk and got to pet an alligator. Always enjoy this little zoo!

As an amateur zoologist, I take my zoos seriously. This Zoo has Fine exhibits of the animals that are local to South Carolina. It is a delight to visit and fun for the entire family.
Beautiful walking park, enjoyed the birds. Gardens beautiful
love going to the zoo and seeing the animals. it was small bit you can get up close.
Such a cool place to visit on vacation. Get your tickets to Brookgreen Gardens (zoo is included) early on your trip because the tickets are good for 7 days. So much to see and you can split it up. The zoo part closes at 5.
This place is huge. So much beauty to see. You definitely need to arrive when they open. Make sure to wear comfortable clothes and shoes.
very enjoyable small zoo.
This is a very nice zoo of local animals. It's a nice walk and the enclosures are large except for the raptors who are all injured rescues.
Great little zoo. The enclosures are large and are the most natural enclosures I've seen. The animals were active and seemed happy! The otter especially was swimming around and playing. Good place to check out if you have time
Fun place. Well definitely recommend

Animals appear happy and healthy. Staff was knowledgeable. Wish there was more to see in between the attractions.... Long winding trails.
Its a beautiful place to bring children. Domestic animals and wild animals but they are well trained and kept in good condition. They are not a threat to visitors and you are not a threat to them as well. You see attendants telling you their names and history. I had fun in this peaceful and beautiful place.
We visited at night for the Summer Lights event, and loved it. Can't wait to go back in the daytime and see it then!
