Went to the L.A. Zoo Lights during night time. All the lights were beautiful and amazing. Staff at the entrance were very nice and friendly. I wanted to buy tickets online but when I was on my way there it didn't let me buy the tickets, but luckily the box office was open until they closed the zoo lights, which is around 9 PM. They open from 6 to 9PM. At the time I'm writing this, prices can range anywhere from $15-$27 dollars from what I've seen. Children ages 2-12 will have a discounted price. Children under the age of 2 are allowed to enter for free. If you decide to buy tickets at the box office they will send you a text message with a link of your ticket(s) after the purchase has went through. Just go back to the front and let the staff scan your QR codes. They'll give you guides so you can correctly loop around but we just explored on our own. The amount of time to see everything took about an hour and a half, almost 2 hours. Definitely recommend coming/booking tickets near or at the time when the lights open, which is 6PM. When you're near the animals, they'll have people standing around with signs saying to be quiet to let the animals enjoy their sleep. Best part of the lights is the light tunnel they have near the end. After that you just loop back to the beginning and exit the zoo. Overall, a pretty good experience! I just think they should lower the price a bit more because the standard average price of tickets are $24 but I think that's a bit overpriced just to see some lights. (again at the time I'm writing this) Anyways, definitely recommend checking this out if you want to see some lights during December and the beginning of January!

This was our first time back in years, and we are so happy to be back! We love that LA Zoo is a conservation organization that is constantly making innovations to help improve the lives of animals. We love the variety of animals we get to observe and learn about, the overall upkeep of the park, and the ease and comfort of exploring the zoo. There is really no easier trip than visiting this zoo. The only thing that makes me sad is the look in the eyes of the orangutans... They looked dismal each time we passed by. As we don't know the circumstances as to why they're in captivity, we can only believe it is for the best. Poor, intelligent animals look so sad though. We upgraded our day passes into annual passes and look forward to enjoying more time here. The crowd was very manageable, the food options were good, and we thoroughly enjoyed our time.

My family and I have been members for years up til covid19 hit, we love this place, kids always have an awesome time and frankly we do as well (specially me since I keep reptiles as pets). The zoo lights is always an even we look forward too and always have a blast doing so. Can't wait til next time, and hopefully we'll renew our membership for the upcoming year.

The zoo is very big. It can take a day to see every animal. The Australia House is closed due to COVID-19. And visitors need to keep a longer distance to see many animals in the zoo. All these measures are fine to me. But I can't stand throwing the whole boxes with food inside to animals. The bear and chimpanzees area are too dirty. There are milk boxes, juice boxes, shoes boxes and Amazon boxes in their cage. That is definitely a prison for those many chimpanzees.

My kids and family, we all loved the LA Zoo Lights show, its fun and entertaining for all ages! This is a walk through experience, so you will have to walk a lot and it's cold, vaccination card is required, be prepared. There is food inside and outside the zoo, restrooms ???? around the tour, so, no excuses, enjoy. Enough parking spaces. Highly recommended ???? ????.

Good alternative for family with small children. Bring your own food (their selection is limited) make it a picnic. The animals are much more fun in the mornings to watch than afternoons.

To celebrate the 4th birthday of my daughter, we took her to the LA Zoo to be one with nature. She had a blast. Considering school and Covid protocols, it was amazing for the place not to be crowded when we got there. Then again, we did go on a Wednesday. There were tons of animals to see and all were lively. A couple took naps, but when they heard my AMAZING Disney puns and jokes, they woke up. All around a successful day for the little one and for the animals meeting the mighty mighty Audrey. Definitely planning on coming back. Got to love those ticket prices..... I'm looking at your Disneyland lol.

Absolutely recommend that you go to the LA Zoo Lights if you're around. It is a cheap, relaxing and beautiful event filled with colors and sparkles, from entry to end. It is for everyone, and offers plenty of selfies opportunities, as well as great pictures in general. Just be sure to arrive a little early: it is often filled to the brim with people!

I was so pleasantly surprised ! We had a super fun experience very clean . I was impressed with how they checked our vaccine card and ID'S. Animals are adorable also very educational. My 8 year old twins loved it.

This zoo is huge. I hate seeing all the majestic and enormous kings of the wild imprisoned like this but I also want to help support them by spending my money here. The zoo is beautifully kept and most of the employees are very nice and fun. It will take the whole day to get through it all so arrive early in the winter.

I came during the holidays in the evening to visit the zoo during the Los Angeles Zoo Lights event. It was definitely worth it! It takes about an hour in the evening to get through the displays. The lights are really well done and carefully put together. There is even an amazing light tunnel that you can walk through. You can go in to see the reptiles but in the dark it is very hard to see most of them (the lights are kept off in the cages). Unfortunately I didn't see any other animals (other than the light animals!)

Due to COVID many of the animals were not available to view. Many of the food kiosks were closed and a few restaurants. It would have been nice for the zoo to disclose this information online before purchasing tickets. This would allowed the consumer to make an informed decision before getting the entire family ready to go.

Been going there for a couple years to see the Christmas lights aka zoo lights; but went today during normal business hours and was kind of disappointed. There was hardly any animals in the exhibits and a lot of it was closed down. It's was really hot tried to get something to drink. It cost me $27 for two cans of Pepsi a water bottle and one canned beer. I do have to say the zoo is pretty expansive.Definitly bigger than what I remembered it as a kid ,but not sure if I can recommend it.

L.A. Zoo Lights review. This was an amazing experience for both children and adults. They get extra points for adding a cocktail bar along the route. Though the map said there were three locations, there was only one. Only noticed the snake exhibit was open. They still have a few kinks to work out on entering the park, but due to COVID, it's all understandable. Bring cash if you want snacks. Some booths charge a $2 transaction fee if using a credit card.

Great experience! Very well laid out and eat to casually walk through. Plenty of food options and carts. My only complaint is that a lot of the exhibits were closed. I am not sure whether this was seasonal or some other reason.

This review is for the L.A. Zoo lights during the holiday season. I came on a Sunday night thinking it wouldn't be as crowded, but it was still pretty crowded. They did a great job of only letting people in at their designated times. The lines appeared long, but once your timeslot was open, the line moved quickly. The lights were very nice throughout the zoo. I went to the San Antonio Zoo lights and the experience was very similar. There were various areas with different themes. There were food and drink stations throughout the zoo. Was a nice way to see holiday lights while supporting the zoo.
