We had a fun day here but the zoo could use some more excitement. We loved the bears, cougars and beavers! On this fall day there was hardly anyone there so that was nice. Nice day for the price but I wouldve loved some more animals and less Halloween decorations. There were way more decorations than animals. Also, the little inside area where the monkeys and turtles are, isn't even marked! My husband opened the green doors and peeked his head in and we went in! No signs or anything! The workers at the touch tank could be less creepy and more friendly. They just stared at us silently.

This park have duck paddle boat run season have a fee $5 for child $10 for adult fix 3 people for boat comfortable have some real duck around can't feed them its a fine $50 if U do. Free parking. Playground swings and slides. Benches sport field. Great to have a lil duck ride and a typical day out with the kids. Enjoy! The ride quack quack!

Such a serene place on the edge of a busy city, it's like it's own little world. We love to chill by the water or swing on the swings. The zoo is beautiful and they are making a lot of improvements. The train ride is fun for all ages and my kids enjoyed the new play area they just finished. Willette's Optical Paradise Approved ????

This is a nice little Park, the kids had a lot of fun. But it does get a little bit crowded, so if you're afraid of catching the flu, maybe don't go. But it is right next to a zoo and a big field, so it's great for kids or pets that need to get their energy out.

Buttonwood park has a nice zoo, with plenty of animals for about 2 hours of fun. This zoo is not high end, and big, but it's a great zoo for the price you pay, not even including deals with groupon. The park and playground outside, is a great place to chill while the kids burn off there energy. It's also great for walks, runs, bike rides, etc. Its overall a nice park, for being right in the middle of a city.

Lovely little zoo , it is a short loop . Their cafeteria is overpriced. They advertise concerts on Mondays but you have to pay extra for it, as well as to ride on their carousel or train.

I absolutely love this Park! There's the Zoo which isn't expensive at all but if you're not looking to spend money there's also a great playground the kids will love. There's free parking, basketball courts, lots of picnic tables, a pond with a lot of geese and ducks. The entire Park is pretty big so it's a great place to go for a walk. Either by yourself, with friends or your dog. I definitely recommend it to anyone looking for an inexpensive way to have fun with the kids or looking to have a great time without spending any money.

It's a pretty cool park and there are LOTS OF GEESE AT A POND. I'm not really scared of geese, but if you're scared of geese you shouldn't go to the pond. But it's cool to ride bikes at. Have fun ????????????????????

I've been going to this park all my life. It's wonderful and has lots of nature around it; altogether very beautiful. However, I personally do have a few complaints. The park itself– namely the playground, has some equipment that could be updated and / or repaired. It would be nice to make sure everything is working properly. It could be far worse, definitely, but there's always room for improvement. Furthermore, the pond at the park; I'm unsure if this counts as part of the park itself, but the wildlife there is extremely unhealthy. The water has a stench to it that's akin to decay and bacteria. The swan boats there have been causing significant damage to the animals and fish, though, they are quite fun to ride. I personally think that they (the city officials) should focus on cleaning up the pond and fixing the smell it emits along with helping the wildlife. I was there earlier today and a group of motherless ducklings had walked up to my family and I and they appeared borderline emaciated; meanwhile, a goose came over and was missing a foot. Her leg was still intact, but the foot was gone completely and the flesh around it was swollen and appeared infected. These issues should be addressed for everyone's sake. Though they're smaller problems and are easy to over look, they still matter beneath the surface.

I play softball in a sober league there every year and the playground is great for my daughter to play at. There's always a lot of people there and in my experience there hasn't been any bad experiences. Also the zoo is fun for the day it has a lot of animals and the aquarium is nice too.

Buttonwood is our largest park if you don't include Fort Rodman. The park itself is a good size and has some great potential, but like everything else the city builds these super nice areas and then doesn't maintain it properly. The children's playground has gotten really bad, everything is broken, there is trash everywhere, they don't even take the debris and leaves. There are actually some really dangerously sharp metal structures that need to be removed and replaced but the city just ignores it, someone will get seriously hurt. A vendor reinstated the swanboats which is a major plus, but who knows how long that will last.

Great place for family, friends to get together. Ball parks, playground, bridges over Lily ponds, picnic areas, Swan boats, One of the top 5 Small Zoos in the Nation with elephants, pumas, seals, monkeys, a sloth, indigenous animals, plants, flora, fish RIver otters, bobcats, a farm with horses, goats, cows, chickens. Pony rides for the kiddos. Plus, many different festivals every year and things like yoga and stuff going on. Buttonwood Park is just lots of fun. :-)

I am so surprised seeing all the improvements and additions at Buttonwood Zoo. The elephant habitat alone is so spacious, filled with enrichment opportunity for the girls. Many habitats had an animal keeper in the area, filled with information, you just have to have the curiosity to learn more and ask Buttonwood Zoo is AZA accredited and the hard work put forth by the employees and staff shows it.

We went to Boo at the Zoo and they did a great job helping everyone stay distant and safe. Everyone was wearing a mask and doing their best to keep 6 ft apart. I love that the park was 1 way. We went earlier in the morning so it wasn't as crowded as afternoon/evening. The animals were up and eating. One thing that could change was the food counter. The order station and pick up station was at the same window. People were huddled around it trying to order and pay while also getting their food. Wish there was a pick up station that one of the employees could set up a table and run the food to that table and call the name on the pick up slip. Other than that it was a great alternative to trick or treating.

What a fun park! This is located right next to Buttonwood Zoo, so after spending an hour or two in there, we headed outside to let our 4yo run around. The playground was a very large and had plenty for him to check out. My only complaint would be that there wasn't a bathroom facility, but we had purchased tickets to the zoo, so we headed back inside. I do think there was a single port-a-potty onsite though.

Perfect little zoo for young children. You can spend about an hour and a half checking out the exhibits. Charlie's nature land is fun for the kids, but would be nicer if there were some shade. It is completely in the sun making it ridiculously hot on a warm day.

It is an amazing and beautiful place to spend a sunny afternoon. Small zoo , animals are very well taken care of , park is clean . Certain activities and areas are closed due to COVID but still worth going .Vast areas for walking , picnic or sitting by the pond . Staff are friendly and informative. ❤????

It is a well maintained park. It is wheelchair accessible. It has areas for picnics including grills. There are events and activities offered for different populations. It has a great zoo. Should be noted that rates are very affordable and differ if you live in the area, cheaper for residents. If a caretaker accompanies someone in a wheelchair, admission is free for the caretaker. The zoo has a food court, too. It is a simple menu with popular items like burgers, fries, onion rings, nachos... The eating area is very clean.

Take my two dogs here for 15 to 30 minute run on 25 ft leashes and they love it.Meet many doglovers for attention and it makes for 4 hours at least of sleep daily.

Great place to relax in a big city! Great walking/ biking path, decent fishing with a chance to catch monster alligator snappers and big cat fish. Nice sized children's play ground. Basketball and tennis courts with pickleball lines.

There's plenty of picnic tables and shaded areas for you to sit and relax, have a bite to eat or work. The tables are close to the playground so, if you're with children it would be easy for them to keep themselves entertained. If you decide to visit the zoo the entrance is close by and it's not that expensive, there is a library close by where you could get free passes to visit the zoo. If you're looking to burn up time or just hang out with the grand/children Buttonwood Park and Zoo is a great place to visit.

I love Buttonwood Park! I'm very very disappointed with the pond area. They have been neglected and ignored! The pond is filthy and nasty! Even the Geese and the Ducks doesn't even want to stay there anymore. But they're everywhere else in the park, except around the pond area. ???
