It was a great place to spend some time on a rainy afternoon in Halifax
I went to see the mummies (and it was great), but my bee friends are always my first stop no matter what. I feel like my heart buzzes along with them for a few seconds when I watch. ????
Small museum nicely done and interesting. Low entrance fee. Kid friendly.
Small but very cool museums especially the learn about Egypt section that is on display now until April 2021
It’s interesting. I like the earth part more ans also the bees.. they’re amazing...
Very reasonable price and small but nice and priceless exhibits. The beehive was a amazing and the kids enjoyed the wild life there. The Egyptian mummy exhibit is really great and much informative.
Fun kids programs and they always have a different exibit every couple of months. Love it here!
Always fun and educational
Great place for kids, with lots of exhibits to occupy adults for hours too. Loved the bees, giant globe, terrain map sand box, and marine animal sounds, especially.
Rotating and permanent exhibits. Very welcoming to kids of all ages. Reasonable day rates, excellent annual rates.
The body exhibit was well done and informative on how our habits and disease impact our bodies. The price was very reasonable. No photography allowed.
Small, but interesting and informative. Cool trinkets in the gift shop also, particularly for Geology and rock nerds. Cheap entry fee, we'll worth it and we'll enjoyed. Get off the couch and learn something!
Excellent little museum for Natural History, staff friendly and knowledgeable.
Great museum, half was closed when I went but it was still excellent. Really lovely staff and interpreters
Enjoyable mix of Nova Scotia History and intriguing temporary exhibitions. Love the globe projection room. Though I think they could do a lot more with the nature of Nova Scotia area near the entrance.
A great place to take your kids. lots of fun stuff to see. A great rainy day activity.
Gus the turtle is awesome! Topography sandbox was cute. A little small but awesome gift shop.
I went to see the spider exebit and it was really cool because they had lots of spiders around the world, and stuff like that is only there for awhile so I'm happy I didn't miss out!
My kids loved this, they keep asking to go back. We will plan to go again whenever the exhibits change.
Crazy busy, but kids loved it.. Prices seemed. Reasonable
Quaint exhibits, dated facility
Had a great family outing. Loved the exhibits!
The Body Worlds exhibit was amazing and so well done. Also, Arthur the sloth was a delight surprise
Amazing place to explore.
Awesome place to see animals (although not alive) that you only can find in the wild.
Went for the Egyptian Mummies exhibit. Was extremely interesting with quite a fair amount of artefacts. Well worth the price of admission.
Love the titanic part upstairs!
Dino exhibit was well done and totally worth the money cheap fun
Great little museum, lots of miq'maw cultural exibits. Cool marine exibits too, of course. Not big though as you can easily see the whole thing in an hour or two.
Being from a big city and seeing other larger museums, I was still pretty impressed by some of the exhibits and the body worlds exhibit was really cool!
Informative and friendly! Focus on stewardship, culture and preservation.
Love it there .
The dinosaur exhibit was incredible. And the static displays are always a treat. However, displaying a beer bottle in the marine life exhibit is not cool!
Full of interesting exhibits and lots of informative reading, it's a wonderful place to go with older kids/other adults to while away 2 or 3 hours learning about Nova Scotia, it's peoples past and present, and the earth itself. Even though some of the more interesting looking exhibits were closed, it still gets a full five stars because we have something to look forward to going back for!
Great time with our young daughters. Engaged and friendly staff really help improve the experience.
It was so nice to walk around and see what you have displayed, I love the animals.
Our family loved it ! 2 young boys had lots to look at while us adults enjoyed reading the information. We also seen Gus who we've seen in our younger years during school field trips.
Worst museum I have ever been. It is a waste of space payed by our taxes.
Definitely worth the time to see, especially the visiting Egyptian display
Loved it as a kid, and still lots to see especially when they have new exhibits.
Always the highlight of the day !!! Gus is the star of the show :)
Great place to spend with the kids. Perhaps time for a refresh though.
Kids (and myself) had a BLAST :) Smaller than I anticipated, but still loads of fun
Great for kids! A tiny bit less so for adults.
Loved the Dino Exhibit, and they had someone showing off and talking about some local marine life such as starfish and sea urchins. Most.of the exhibits have been the same for years and years and years, and it is a smaller scale museum so it doesnt take overly long to walk through. That being said still a great day out with the family.
Love that this local museum brings interesting exhibits recently like Body worlds RX and Dinosaurs. Although I wish there was more to the dinosaurs, definitely a great place to bring kids to see replicas
Half of the exhibits were closed for renos but what we were able to see was fun. We enjoyed the animals and the projection show on the solar system. My kids and I had fun at our first visit!
Excellent place loved the Egyptian mummies. ..!
This is a fun museum to visit ! A little on the small side but definitely one of my favourites in Halifax. They have lizards, frogs and snakes in tanks to view and usually have a themed temporary exhibit which is always super cool. Also they have a very cool exhibit with various bird species, marine species, a touch tank, and very interactive. Highly recommend.
Love it! Kids have so much fun learning new things!
The folks at the Museum have a great way of displaying their exhibits. Having hands on displays, like the Sable Island research station, that can be explored and interacted with is great for learning. I liked the display of the Oak Island treasure too!
Exhibits change often enough to keep locals coming back. Fun, hands-on learning, knowledgeable staff. My kids still love coming here even though they're almost teens. And Gus. Gus the tortoise.
Incredible place to bring my little one!
Excellent displays to educate and entertain! They have a lot of living creatures, as well as preserved. One in particular is Gus, a tortoise that is nearing his 100th birthday and has become the museum’s mascot (I saw him previously 20 years ago when I was a kid, so quite special to many locals). The museum itself is not that big but could easily keep you and the family busy for 2 to 3 hours.
I'm not very keen on museums but I found this one very interesting
My sons favourite day spot! He really liked the spider exhibit and even got to see a sloth
Last Saturday I took in the Egyptian Mummies and eternal life exhibit at the Museum of Natural history. This exhibit was very well put together for the viewer to move seamlessly through from start to finish with very little contact.Worth the adult price and would go back again before it ends Nov 8 for another look.
It was closed.
Very cool place to visit I totally recommend visiting here
So much fun, very interesting information about the various displays! Especially the Body Worlds exhibit!
Great place to visit with the kids. Lego exhibit was a huge hit and next year's dinosaur exhibit will surely thrill.
Very fascinating little museum. Loved learning about the cultures.
Expo on frogs is great! Perfect habitat done with a lot of attention on details. Great spécimens shown! I am impressed ????????
Place was small but informative. Lots of varied exhibits and more live animals than one would think would be in a museum. Their exhibit on the local indigenous people is probably the most comprehensive of any I've seen, especially about the mic mac people. Great place to spend an hour or two but don't go in expecting to spend the whole day there. Admission is also very reasonable
This is a perennial favorite for kids and parents alike. Originally just about history of Nova Scotia, now incorporates natural history as well! Give it a visit over the Christmas break with the kids!
Small but smart. Must see for every visitor
What a brilliantly curated place! While they don't have as much content as other museums I've been to, everything they do have is perfectly presented. The exhibits are a real credit to the staff and volunteers; nicely done!
Great place especially for kids, inexpensive and educational. There are live animal exhibits ( reptiles / amphibians) and nice collection of taxidermy / skeleton specimens. We got there early on Saturday, which was good, because it was quite crowded as we were leaving.
The current exhibit includes on loan items related to various periods of ancient Egypt. There are even mummies! I highly recommend you see this exhibit before it's gone. There are permanent exhibits worth seeing as well. Lots of great animal exhibits, but also a wonderful Mi'kmaw display that was really impressive.
This museum is small but mighty. It has some interesting exhibits and hosts some great visiting ones!
Great exhibits, loved the travelling dinosaur show! Only complaint is availability of parking but that was a minor problem.
A great place for kids to learn n also for adults...dinosaur skeleton..earth weather firecasts...different animals sculptures...place yo learn relax your back too
Looking forward to visit it again!
Nice museum for youngsters with some interactive exhibits. A little on the small side. Could be updated. Upside is if you are a Membership owner for other museum’s, like Museum of Nature (Ottawa), it can be used to access this museum at no extra charge.
Nice family activity. I love the way the staff makes an effort to get the children involved.
Gus is awesome and they always have great exhibits. Lego was amazing!
Ya got of love kids, haha. Wonderful history on the indigenous people of NS
Amazing exhibits, Egyptian Exhibit is a must see!
Very educational and excellent presentations. The girls with me, loved it. I enjoyed it too. The price is very reasonable too. Gus is cool to see. Would definitely do it again.
Good place to visit..lot of stuff...
Always enjoy seeing Gus and all the other little creatures featured at the Museum of Natural History.
Amazing place! Fave place to stop when were in town!
Really enjoyed the dinosaurs exhibit. My one complaint is that they do not recognize military personnel. It is a shame.
Great museum. Also great spot for groups how need affordable meeting space. They have 2 classroom sized rooms and a theatre in the basement. We use the rooms very often for meetings and training.
Excellent collection of indigenous artefacts, and beautiful collections of pieces through history, indigenous animal bones, prehistoric pieces, and of course their living tortoise, I believe to be the oldest of his kind... A must see. No pictures attached because you have to see it yourself.
This place totally fascinated me, it was an interesting spot to go on a rainy day. Something for everyone here. I think kids especially will love the interactive exhibits, but there are "instagram worthy" spots for the older generation
The Museum of Natural history is always a great place to visit. Their permanent exhibitions always bring back nostalgia for anyone who grew up in the area and they really step up their game with their visiting exhibitions. It is affordable pricing, accessible to all ages and abilities, and exactly as a museum should be.
A good place to go for an hour or 2
Excellent for Schools to take students to learn more about nature an all it has to offer an occasional offering of RARELY displayed item's of natural nature as well.
Lots of fun! I really like the honeybees. The exhibit on Mi’kmiq culture and history as great too. I also really enjoyed the exhibit on Atlantic wildlife. Just an all-around great way to spend two or three hours in Halifax! I strongly suggest this place.
They have a full pilot whale skeleton, a bunch of reptiles (temporarily) and a sweet egg exhibit
Good price, nice exhibits, and very informative about the local area. The temporary Egyptian exhibit is a must see while it's there. Also go around 3:30 if you want to see an adorable 97 year old tortoise named Gus walk around the museum. That being said, the museum is a bit small and can get a little crowded in some areas at times, and parents tend to not watch their kids here which can be a bit of a nuisance, but that's more the fault of parents around here than the museum.
Great exhibits and changing exhibitions to keep people coming in. I love the little reptiles and amphibians too! GUS!
Small but interesting place to visit. They have an interesting display of native culture.
Love everything about our museum!
For a small museum, it can be surprisingly engaging and the staff are very informed. Like many museums, it's overall quality is going to be linked to whatever is the feature exhibit. Addition of the touch tank and the boat display as permanent things can easily help you kill an hour or two with the little one and the proximity to the public gardens, Citadel, or the Common's playground allows the facility to be part of a bigger downtown adventure.
They update and bring lot of memories to our knowledge..
The dinosaur exhibit was wonderful to go to my children enjoyed themselves immensely great family outing
Had a great time looking and learning about the mummies
I always go when new exhibits come in.educating and fun
Cute museum showing local animals and heritage. Very well catered towards children so they can easily see everything and learn.
If you have kids and plan to go to the museum more than 2 times in a year then the family pass is worth buying and is total no brainer. Gus is always fun to see and plan visits around. He is walked around the main floor of the museum most days near closing and it great fun for the kids to see. *This routine was pre-covid*. The spherical projection theatre is amazing! The staff are always helpful and happy to show the kids the tanks, animals, and provide unique and noteworthy experiences of seeing the animals and displays. It's a great museum!
A fun spot to spend the afternoon
A nice museum to learn a few things about local history. The kids enjoyed most of the exhibits as they were mostly interactive. A good way to spend 2 hours!
Amazing displays well worth a short visit
Very few exhibits, mostly stuffed animals
A wonderful little museum. Good for adults with the time to read some not-too-flashy signage about interesting aspects of maritime and Nova Scotian history. The museum contains plenty of fun for little kids too, and, for locals, the price of year-round admission is totally worth it for rainy and winteresque days.
Well set up and maintained.. Always a fun place for the kids
The museum of Natural History is a wonderful place! I went while the Body Worlds RX exhibit was there. The displays are wonderful and informative while remaining accessible to all. I would highly recommend checking it out, especially if you're science or history minded
Very reasonably priced. Well curated permanent exhibits that showcase the Nova Scotia region from wildlife to geology. We went during the Egyptian temporary exhibit and what a treat that was! All staff were very polite. However, it is my hope that there is some funding in the future to update the facilities and grounds. It's definitely showing its age.
This place is very interesting and they keep showing new thing.
I really like how the exhibits are engaging to all levels.
The permanent exhibits are good and worth the visit. A great selection of taxodermied animals from the region. Fantastic settings for some of the animals (moose, deer, eagles, puffins). The featured exhibits change every few months and are always worth the price of admission on their own.
They change up their displays pretty frequently, adding something new everytime you go. Unfortunately, they only change one exhibit, and the rest is the same, but it's worth it every time just to go see the new one.
We were here for the dino exhibit. Also check out the other ones. Had a great time looking around and using the interactive activities. Great value for a family.
I love going here. There's always great new exhibits to see like dinosaurs or Egyptian mummies.
Excellent place to bring your kids and the staff is very friendly. Educational and fun!
A little smaller than i expected but a nice place nonetheless
Excelent exibits but the museum a little bit small
So much value for so little money! Hours of entertainment for our 8, 5 and 2 year-olds. And lots of reason to come back again and again.
I was here for the Egypt exhibit. Although it was very short this informative and very interesting
Nice for kids & adults for rainy days.
Great place - even during covid!!
WonderFull Time, Free admission, feels like it keeps getting smaller as i get older... c'est la vie
The human body exhibit is amazing and worth 10 times the price
They have lovely and informative exhibits! And some great stuff about micmaw history. My only complaint is its a bit small :< but other than that it's great. A fun and educational way to spend a Saturday afternoon.
Lots of animals and birds. Right now they have dinosaurs. I loved it.
Frogs AND toads! And a tortoise! This place has a beehive!
A truly satisfying and rewarding visit! The staff were very friendly and sweet, and the exhibit information was interesting and well displayed. I was specifically there to see the Body Works RX exhibit and that alone was completely worth the admission rate (about $6 for an adult, which was low anyway). If you enjoy learning, I highly recommend paying a visit to the museum. It has all the right mixtures of local interest and specialized exhibits!
Turtles were doing it this day. Enjoyed the new egyptian section, but always seems very clean and very interesting artifacts
Love taking my child there. Friendly staff and interestibg exhibits.
Great place to spend a couple hours with the kids. Staff and volunteers are friendly and knowledgeable. Go early if you need to park nearby.
The muséum has many animal exibits that were entertaining and informative. The kids were very interested. It is worth seeing. We also enjoyed the mummys and the giant globe.
Egyptian display was amazing!!!! Can't wait for the next exciting exhibit!
Great museum with knowledgeable and friendly staff. There are plenty of exhibits for both child and parent, including live reptiles, bees and a salt water aquarium. There is also a small gift shop that you can look through at the end. My only gripe is that the bathrooms are on the bottom floor.
Beautiful but extremely small. It's a one hour stay place! Not enough explanation of materials in the show room. Egyptian boring section takes third of the museum space. I wish Halifax can pay more attention to this important museum and source of information reflecting what is Nova beautiful Scotia all about! Visit other museums around the world guys, watch, learn and FIX! ????
Always changing up their displays to keep the learning fresh and fun. Gus is a unofficial Halifax ambassador.
Very interesting
Always amazing and such great helpful staff
We love coming here often. The staff are amazing and friendly. The newest exhibit Egyptian Mummy is very interesting and exquisite.
Great place to go too especially with your family. The dinosaur exhibit was awesome
If you're looking for a well worth while way to spend your Sunday then you should consider going to the Museum of Natural History. It's only the price of a craft beer to get in and the staff are very courteous, informed and helpful. Be prepared to be wowed and amazed. Also don't forget to say hi to Gus.
Its nice but I've been to a lot better.
Missing a touch tank
A place to remember! It is a small museum right in the downtown. We visited it many times in the past. Sadly say bye to the collection that being displayed for 50 plus years on thanking giving day of 2021, last day to see them. Look forward to seeing the new collection in 2023. This place does require a parking fee, $1.5 per hour but you may find the free parking nearby. The favorite part is to meet the turtle Gus and it will turn 100 years old in August, 2022. You can only see it around 3:30pm at the backyard of the museum when weather permits.
This museum is an embarrassment. It’s run down, out dated and the exhibits are nothing special. Came from out of town to see the dinosaur exhibit and it was extremely disappointing. Don’t waste your time.
Great dinosaur exhibit. The rest of it does need to be upgraded though
Awesome museum, great for kids and inner kids. The collection is huge and varied. It's a very fun place to go, and if you want to take your time and learn more, it has lots of texts to read in all the museum too. The shop is very cute, my little changing color stegosaurus ring is a huge success everywhere I go...but there are more serious gifts too, if it's what you need.
The dino exhibit was great, a couple of hands-on activities and life like animatronics. The permanent installations are cool too, especially the sand table. Not a whole lot of material though, plan for about an hour.
A teriffic place to while away a few hours in an educational environment. I've been coming here since 1970 and enjoy every visit. The only downside are too few parking spaces and probably the worst park 'n pay system I've ever used.
Cool place to bring family and kids to. The museum provide a rich view for variety of species. The staff are welcoming and helpful.
The Body Works exhibit was awesome but some of the lighting could have been better.
Children really enjoyed the it here, but they are science buffs. They could have been at the displays for hours
I took my 8 year old nieces over to check it out. The Body Works exhibit was on, but the kids didn't really want to see that, so we looked at the rest of the museum. It was a little underwhelming and seemed to heavily focus on Sable Island for some reason. I mean it wasn't terrible but I've seen better. It was quite small and very busy, but since it was a Holiday we got in for free so that was worth it. I don't think I'd pay to see some whale bones and stuffed birds.
I have been loyalty attending this Museum on a regular basis since I was a very young lad. It is a constantly evolving and interesting platform for the assimilation of abstract knowledge delving into some of the most interesting and far a field topics this could very tactfully amuse engage and inspire a young growing mind for the betterment of their overall awareness of pertinent general knowledge there could very earnestly mean the difference between oncoming Generations thriving due to general knowledge awareness and being ignorant to very important Notions that are globally relevant not just nationally not just for provincially not just originating in the present far distant past or immediate long-term future but helping provide a bigger picture. Learning from the mistakes of our forefathers in addition to mistakes is that irrelevant within the last decade 50 years 20 years Etc. But also having live and tangible displays that makes everything all the more accessible to the developing mind by incorporating living and well articulated scientific diagrams I have nothing but good to say about this institution please expose your youngins to the contents of this well laid out facility of inspired displays thank you
Great place for families. Body Works exhibition was fascinating.
Attended during the Body Worlds exhibit and was impressed with the rest of the museum as well. The entrance fee is very reasonable. Their parking lot, which has limited space, is an extra five dollars. This was only my first visit, but I'll be looking forward to their next big exhibit!
Always a great day, new exhibits every few months I believe or maybe 2 times a year.
The Mummy exhibit currently showing at the museum is amazing (Feb 2020) and definitely worth checking out. Gus was out for a walk in the gallery today and it was nice to see him still going strong. If you get the chance to go see the exhibit, its worthwhile if you have an interest in ancient Egypt
Like every well designed natural history museum, ideal for a 2h visit. Kids were enchanted by the resident tortoise, George (?), who happened to be on a walk but you were "welcome to come and visit him here
We have had annual passes for the past 3 years and great place to bring the kids. New sections keep our children's attention. However, it is a small museum and with the kids getting older, it is harder to get them excited to visit when the traveling exhibits are not interesting to them.
Its cool how it almost always changes for an diffirant experience every time you go side note when i went their was robotics dinosaurs you could control that was very cool
love going there
Not engaging, very bland content. I've seen more wildlife and learned more about them driving through provincial parks than in the exhibits here. Sadly I didn't come on a day with an event or show and based off the other reviews that seems to be the golden reason for coming here and enjoying it. The layout doesn't seem to have had much thought to it, walking through isn't nearly as seamless as say and aquarium for example. Simple things were missing. An example being the large earth screen that showed a visual of the amount of news articles talking about violent attacks and protests. The visuals displayed on the earth were straight, and not on an axis as the earth actually is. This is not only an accuracy issue but it also meant that trying to see the graphics showing the northern hemisphere were practically impossible for a child or short person to see. Even as a tall person I couldn't clearly see the graphics for Canada. The bee exhibit is messy. The bees visibly do not have a good amount of space to move and reproduce. Also the legend showing a Queen Bee and other Species of bees was extremely inaccurate. The Queen bee is not that small, it was the size of a Drone! The space was so tight that you could see dead bees squished up against the glass. No tacky glass surface either by the looks of it as we witnessed a bee try to carry a dead friend out of the exhibit but was unable to grip to the glass to walk. Also there was no indication of why the bee exhibit led outdoors, no information that kids and adults alike should know about. No signage showing where the Queen was. A 5 minute Youtube video shows more information than this exhibit does. Not worth 5$. Would argue it should be by donation only. Staff seemed disinterested and didn't seem lively. Instead of being engaging they cliqued at the front desk and talked amongst themselves. The parking lot is 1.50 per hour and has no signage showing where the entrance of the museum is. One way leads to the stairs up to the front. The other leads across a field to a random street. Would not come back ever again. The museum in Victoria, BC is night and day compared to this place.
My family really enjoyed seeing all the different spiders from around the world and so much more
Nice place to spend an afternoon.
This is and always has been one of my favorite museums. From plastination to geology to mummies to the universe, their exhibits are always amazing!
Check out the Body Works exhibit on now until April! It's amazing.
Love this museum. Staff are courteous and informative. Great nature and geology display. There is also a rich Miꞌkmaq display.
Always love going here especially with family members of all ages. They cycle exhibits often so there is always something new to see and experience. Each section has lots of info to read and learn but also has interactive elements to them as well which is great. Staff is always friendly, the building is accessable and they recently started offering a time with reduced stimuli with the noise and lighting on the first Sunday of the month, they even provide a sensory map of the museum both online and at the front desk. The price is also incredibly affordable, I often get the pass for the year which pays for itself after about 3 visits.
While this is one of the best museums in the area, it pales in comparison to all others I have been to.
There was a few animals but it is completely empty... nothing got my interest... badly made stuffed animals. I mean its free so its worth going but not very impressive
3:30 they take Gus for a walk. If you can plan your day well make sure you over lap so you can see him out and about :)
I love this place and how the curators are able to educate people who visit in a unique way. They have great talent in making the imagination work.
I've been to better museums. Though this is Halifax and not a major city. Very kid friendly. My faveotie part was about sable Island and its wild horse population!
Always something unique to see. Great spot.
Loved the Egyptian exhibit. So glad I was able to fi ally make it
Good for small kids but for teenagers and adults it's limit boring. It's fun at the start but the visit is really quick. They need to work on presentation and new articles to add on exhibition. No dinosaurs, no body exhibition...only rocks, few bones of reptiles and dead animals...
Great exhibits for the whole family.
Dinasaur exibit is currently being shown. Great for kids of all ages.
Great time at the Museum of Natural History. The dinosaur exhibit was great! My daughter loved it, very interesting and wonderful place to bring the kiddos. Very inexpensive and informative.
Excellent place for anyone. Great dinosaur exhibit. They change exhibits often and are very educational. Must stop in Halifax.
Lots of cool exhibits and prices are fair. Kids loved the travelling dino exhibit .
Words cant describe how much I love this place, and the wonderful memories I’ve retreated. The details and the historic words, I felt like I was right in Egypt! I even bought some souvenirs to remember this fabulous moment, I’m more than satisfied with my visit! Highly recommended.
If you live in HRM and have kids, you should get the annual membership. It is a great place built for kids to learn and enjoy! I would also recommend this place for grown ups ;-)
Great exhibits. Very helpful staff
Not the largest but a pretty good way to kill some time.
A great place to take your kids for a fun and educational experience.
They said it was free admission on family day but when people got there they said they had to charge. A lot of angery people that day.
Love this place. My lil fella has a lot of fun and learns so much every time we come.
It felt empty not what I remembered, idk if they're getting ready for new stuff but very disappointing.
Great place to visit. Free parking. Great exhibits.
Good fun, kids love to visit
What a fun spot to while away an hour or two with the kids.
Excellent little museum. Some live animals to check out, including Gus, the world's oldest gofer tortoise. If you go around 3:30 you will get to see him on his daily walk!
Interesting but I'd save the trip unless there is an exhibit on
Great experience..very clean
Good but compact.
We went to see the dinosaurs but all the kids aged 5 to 13 loved it. I have mobility challenges and was able to borrow a wheelchair no questions asked and it really gave us a much easier trip. Staff were knowledgeable and courteous. Can't wait til we go back!
Kids had a great time
Educational and fun. A great experience for all ages.
Body Works Rx exhibit is great!! The other exhibits were very well done as well, will definitely go back again!
Fun for the evening but it won't fill more than an hour and 15 minutes of time. Very kind and knowledgeable staff.
Liked interactive globe. Very informative. Also liked amphibian collection
It is an interesting place to go with kids. There are skeletons of animals and birds. One section is dedicated to the science room, you can see the globe there. Snake and bees are kept on the other side. There is a tortoise name GUS who is 99 yrs old. Kids will learn the importance of trees by hearing the story. You can hear the voice of different animals in tiny cave. The entry fees is free for July and August 2021.
Best museum in the area. More local history would be nice. They showcase mobile exhibits all the time. Worth at least an annual visit
Our kids love this place. Always great exhibits!!
Great to see Gus has not changed in the 40 or so years since I last saw him
Great fun for kids, big and small.
Really fun. Lots of information, and a great place for kids and families.
This is a great spot for younger families. There are lots of events if you check the site, but also regular programs during the week. Tuesday and Sunday mornings are best for preschoolers, with toys, puppets, and activities. Gus the tortoise comes out for a walk and to eat a snack most days around 3:30 pm.
So fun and interactive for our 8 and 10 year old. Clean and very covid friendly, plus free admission
I when there for the body works display and I have to say it was very educational.
My kids had a great time at the dinosaur experience.
Went during the Egyptian exhibit and it was very cool to see real life mummies and and pages from the book of dead and much more
The dinosaur exhibit was on and it was amazing. The price is really good for what is offered. We really enjoyed our time. Can't wait to see what the next exhibit is.
I love Guss ... Would visit again and again for him ????
The museum itself is actually quite small. So myself and my girlfriend got through it all in about an hour, but I could see that it would be very child friendly and entertaining for little ones. We also visited for the Body World's exhibit which was incredible! Highly recommend seeing that if you can. Price is cheap enough for some decent family entertainment!
Staff was kind and helpful. There are looooots to see, the spider exhibit is really nice and they have a pretty good collection on sea things and birds. My favorite part is the glass beehive just wish there would be someone to talk about it on the free entrance day as some of us have a hard time affording an entrance. Still a pretty nice museum
A bit on the smaller side when it comes to museums but it was fun looking at the actual animals as always and it's nice when it's free sometimes.
Great experience for the whole family! It was an honor meeting the soon-to-be 95 year old Gus :). The other exhibits were entertaining and informative too.
Great museum. A must visit if in Halifax. Many, ever changing displays.
I didn't even know that Halifax had a museum of natural history, but this place is awesome! I didn't get to spend much time there, but there are lots of exotic animal cases right inside with tons of information. And you didn't have to pay! Be sure to check it out next time you're board!
They have a variety of specimen. Was hoping for more. Maybe when next special exhibit comes around. Definitely worth the visit to anyone.
It was a fun time the body exhibit was awesome!I love the bees and can't wait to see the museum after the construction.
A great place to take the whole family. Dinosaurs Unearthed is here till April 2019.
Another great visit during the free Thursday evening. We were able to do the kids workshop and were able to take our stuff home! Jr had a great time getting all the stamps!
How could I complain about an Egyptian exhibit? But what really stole the show was the spinning horse skeleton. Early merry-go-round? Go yourself to find out!
Nice cool place.
Great fun for all with friendly staff!
Such a beautiful little Museum, me and my girlfriend had a blast visiting here getting to meet Gus and getting to partake in the scavenger hunt. If your in the area and need to kill some time then this is definitely the place to do it!
BodyWorld RX was absolutely amazing. Both my 6 year old and 3 year old daughters loved it.
It's always fun and the people are so nice
Yesterday we went for the first time ever, and our 2 year old absolutely loved it! She loved the live animals which we expected, but she also was completely enraptured by the projection show about planets and moons! Would definitely recommend to anyone with wiggly little ones needing some stimulation.
The museum is best if you are visiting for a special exhibit or with a group. We took our 2 year old and our 6 year old niece. They liked the interactive parts and some of the permanent displays. My only complaint was that it seemed small. I don't think there would be much to see on a 2nd visit until some exhibits change.
Definitely check it out. It's awesome
the museum of natural history is full of history of Nova Scotia plants and animal life and special exhibits it also house a tortoise name Guss who is 96 I think
I absolutely loved this place as a kid! gus is the coolest pet you can get
First, the museum was undergoing a redevelopment of many of their exhibits when we visited in November of 2021. This unfortunately left slim pickings on things to see. We will have to return once all the exhibits are open again.
Cool to check out, especially if you want to learn about Nova Scotia's Native Heritage.
Love this place, been visiting here since I was a small child. I now bring my grandchildren here!
Awesome time! My 9 year old loved it. The mummy exhibit and Jupiter room were super cool! And gus!
Very nice museum to visit, despite it's not very big, it has a very good exhibition.
Amazing experience for kids and adults The staff was very helpful and knowledgeable
wonderful exhibits, especially the turtle man
It great that that it was free. Now I've seen I'm with it.
Always a good time. Bring your nature nerd friend. It's better with a guide
This venerable establishment is a Halifax GEM!!!! The ever-changing landscape of permanent and temporary exhibits are VERY well researched and informative - and they cover a huge range of natural history: botany, anthropology, geology, ethnology, biology, history proper..... WONDERFUL place for children and adults alike. Staff is TOPS, and the people the public doesn't get to see very often - the curators and researchers - are some of the BEST around. I'm sooooo very happy this delightful place exists in Halifax. Hope they re-open soon!!!
We visited the Bodys World RX exhibit. It was very busy with over an 90 minute wait. We were made aware of this wait before we bought our tickets and the staff were very conscious of the fact and made very great efforts to keep everybody comfortable and help them during the wait. Along with the displays they had local science or medical students to give further details and answer questions which was an added bonus. It's always better with a tour guide.
Best museum in Halifax! I've been going here since I was a kid and fully intend on bringing my own kids here someday
A bit small, nevertheless can spend a good 2-3 hours inside.
Great place to take the kids on a day that the weather is not cooperating. Main displays change every few months. The living planet display is amazing.
It's been years since I visited the museum. The mummy exhibit was interesting, Gus is still kicking ????! Not much has changed over the years. The only issue I had was with parking. Be forewarned that parking is through either the Hotspot app, Indigo app or coins. **The parking lot is not zone D, it's the number on the post** You'll see what I mean if you go.
Awesome place to take young children our daughter Chloe lived it
Really enjoyable place. Very informative about the local history and my kids loved it.
It was really interesting stuff to look at
Great place to visit. Bring your kids. Admission by donation on Wednesdays after 5pm
Ton of fun for young kids and educational for older children. Fair price. Took about 4 hours to see everything.
Wasn't bad although I expected more from a Museum. I'm glad admission was free I wouldn't of paid for the entry fee
I would not buy a yearly pass to this museum but it is good enough to spend a couple, and I do mean just a couple, of hours in. This museum has a little bit of everything, with a marine gallery, a mammal and bird section, a very basic archaeology section, and a very extensive geology section. Although beautiful, the Pollinating Constellations art creation doesn't really belong in a museum of Natural History but I quite enjoyed the temporary exhibit of selected influential people from Nova Scotia. What this museum does best is keep very young children (under 12) busy enough with a few interesting stations, interactive displays, GUS the close to 80 year old turtle, and a poop display (!). Guess that's worth the price of admission.
Our family goes here a couple times a year. Always great exhibits.
This museum is small, but has a great set-up for young children. We've been to larger museums, and they don't hold their attention nearly so well. The size and design of the various displays are just right.
Hit and miss. Depending on the main display. Staff is great and friendly
The kids had so much fun!!
Needs development a good place for more resources
Always a great place to go either by yourself or with family and friends. I have been going to that museum for over 40 years and I still enjoy it. They often change thier exhibits bringing in excellent displays.
Free admissions, excellent collection of birds
Went to see the Egyptian mummy exhibit and it was so educational and beautiful
Fun cheap experience.
A nice museum to visit every now and again, especially when special exhibitions come to town. There have been a couple recent upgrades but generally the museum looks tired, and needs to be refreshed. Less dark colours and a brighter more modern exhibit in the geology of Nova Scotia area would be a great improvement. Hope to see some investments!
A lovely little museum. Although small in stature, we spent over 2 hours exploring the exhibits.
Fantastic museum, perfect for a city of Halifax's size. Well maintained and interesting exhibits make for an engaging visit every time, regardless of age.
Pretty good place to take kids to kill a few hours. Gets pretty boring after a few trips of the same stuff though. Overall a good experience for the kids.
Cute place. Lots of different things to see. There was a spider exhibit going on while I was there very well laid out.
This place was great! Baby sloth show notwithstanding, the body world exhibit was wonderful
Its an amazing museum that always has new exhibits to check out. The rest of the museum get a little boring after many visits and could use some new features.
I wish they had the whale bones, to show. Otherwise,it was nice
Even with Covid measures in place there's still so much to offer. Great exhibits and knowledgable staff!
Went to see the Body Worlds Exhibit and it was very cool! Definitely worth seeing, especially if you have a background in science! The price is very reasonable.
Wicked awesome place!
Good museum to bring the kids. A little bit small. Doesn't take much time to get through it all. Make sure you get there when the Tortoise is making his rounds. ????
Great place very interesting
Interesting spot in Halifax and their visiting displays are particularly interesting. Getting a bit tired in most places though and Halifax deserves a better museum.
It 'is very interesting you get a great time
Cute little museum, nice to have some live animals, some fun activities for little kids like a sand table and various displays with buttons, flaps, or slots. Could use more historical animals though, like dinosaurs. I think there's one T-Rex head hidden somewhere but that's about it.
Always a great place for children. Always something new to see.
This place is very informative
The Mummy exhibit was fantastic! Covid percautions have been made with well spaced directional stickers on the floor guiding from exhibit to exhibit, masks required, two seperate cues for entry and gift shop, one group in the gift shop at a time, and an exit downstairs. (Bathrooms also downstairs) overall fellow visitors followed these protocols and were respectful of eachother's space. It was a great experience.
Awesome museum! Kind of small but, the cheap price reflects its size, which is nice. Several different exhibits, currently: Mi'Kmaq, Egypt mummies, taxidermy birds, common Canada mammals, sea creatures and Sable Island horses. Everything is pretty organized and clean. We missed more thorough information one some pieces (especially in frogs, snakes, Canada mammals and Egypt exhibits). Really organized on pandemic era as well where you have to use a mask all times and only one family is permitted on souvenir shop and washrooms. Could have more staff on the way to explain or give more details. Kids loved a lot! We too!
First visit and it was the dinosaur display. We all had a great time exploring and was a wonderful way to spend a few hours learning
It is always nice to go to the museum, I can't count the times I've been. The best thing for me this time is that the bees are back, to see them clustered in the hive and their coming and going, gave me great joy, since our bee populations are dwindling. The museum has been cut back a bit, maybe because of covet, even so there are still a great number of exhibits to see and enjoy!!! Be sure to visit the museum, there is parking (pay), the staff are friendly, knowledgeable and willing to help in anyway they can, and let us not forget Gus the resident turtle who turned 99 on his Birthday this month!!!
This place was not what we were expecting. This place is for families with young children. It's a very hands on museum. There were dinosaurs, stuffed animals, bones, etc. A very small Science Centre.
Rather modest, but packed with amazing sights.
The best place to take children. The family passes are great!
wonderful place!!! we were with a child 2 years old, he was delighted. There are exhibits that you can touch, there is where to run around, jump for children. many species of dinosaurs, as well as animals and birds that live in our wonderful country. I highly recommend this museum, especially if you have children. this is an unforgettable experience
Fun. Lots of interactive tasks for the kids. We went on a rainy day and it was busy but never felt crowded. Good organization re covid restrictions.
Nice small but informative display of body works.
Very nice staff and a very educational place to visit!
Gus is always great. Special exhibits are really great.
How awesome to show your kids about the natural world. Go here and see.
It is small, but has great First Nations content and lots of local exhibits.
Lots of interesting stuff for all ages! Make sure you stop and see Gus!
Easily accessible from downtown. Museum is small and can be covered in few hrs. Well maintained and some displays are really interesting.
A great place to spend part of the day milling about and learning at the same time. Always enjoyable.
Lots of fun and educational activities for children
Wonderful pairing with the Moksha yoga. Will definitely look for more opportunities to go again!
Worth visiting for special events/exhibits but the standing permanent exhibits are long overdue for a modernization. Definitely time your visit for a visiting exhibition or its a pretty short stay to see essentially a lot of wildlife taxidermy and not too much more than that.
My kids loved this place. It was a great place to visit as it was educational as well. The only weird thing is that we had to pay for parking. So when our time ran out, we just decided to leave although it would have been nice to stay a little longer. There is also a 95 year old tortoise that takes a walk outside that the kids can see. When we saw him, he was trying to escape by making a run for a spot on the fence that wasn't low enough. Other exhibits were quite nice and the staff were friendly.
Absolutely amazing exhibits went to see several here and was not disappointing. always something new to see. be sure to check out the hologram globe my favorite part!
Great learning experience, fun for kids. I would recommend it for tourists.
Always a great learning experience and really enjoyed the Egyptian exhibit.
Went for the frog exhibit and had a great time see all the amazing looking frogs
Always something new to see
Wonderful place to take the kids. Reasonable prices, lots to do and see. Great for the whole family!
Fun, lots of cool things to see.
Really interesting exhibits with cool live animals. They also hosted catfest
Small but inexpensive. Kids seem to love it. Some great taxidermy.
Pretty nice, looked like it would keep kids entertained for a long time, took me about an hour to see it all.
The exhibits give good local history and the rotating exhibits are high quality!
That's a pretty nice museum. I enjoyed my time in there
The guy who stuffed the exhibits had a sense of humour. It's run down and showing its age, and lacks the interactive exhibits as compared to other museums located outside the region. But the staff were highly motivated, quick to engage and tell you about nature. Worth the visit just to meet Gus, a landmark.
This was just the most amazing experience!! We brought a dog in training with us from a service dog school. The building was very accessible, and the staff were amazing!
Great place to visit. We enjoyed it very much.
The coiple dinosaurs was cool thought there would be more
Lots of awesome stuff to look at with the mummys this year 2020 feb 22 to june
Great museum with lots of things for visitors of all ages. It usually brings in interesting temporary exhibitions.
The kids always enjoy it here. The staff is good. Parking is an issue some of the time. It is a small lot and fills up quickly. It is paid parking so bring cash.
Go to a museum!! Get educated! Take your kids places.
The mummy exhibit was cool to check out. My kids, 8 and 5, were a bit too young to appreciate it but they really enjoyed the rest of the museum. Lots of interesting things to look at.
Maybe not the most exciting museum I've been to but there is some pretty interesting stuff here. A lot of taxidermied animals and some live ones including the famous Gus the tortoise. There lot of geological other exhibits as well as some archeological artifacts from early humans and later. Most everything is to do with the Nova Scotia/Maritimes area.
Gus was d show stealer...kids n adults alike can enjoy this for abt an hour or 2
Went here for the dinosaur exhibit. It was okay. Not as big as I thought it would be. It was still worth checking out and it's not expensive. Kids 5 and under were free but not much to keep their attention in the museum. We did the whole thing in less than 30 min.
I have gone before but the Body Worlds expo was superb
Great place to take children so they can learn about our nature. Also for nature loving and museum loving adults this place is amazing. Staff is friendly and there is lots to see and do while in there.
Good exhibit. Small but interesting.
Great place with lots of interesting exhibits that change on a regular basis.
Great place for a family to enjoy a couple hours of history. We all loved the 3D elevation sand box!!
Great Museum, exhibits are perfect for young and old. Lots of interaction for kids.
Lots of great information about Nova Scotia and beyond! Fantastic outing for kids!
Awesome body works show. Helpful people
It was great. The kids loved it
Very kid friendly. Interactive and fun. Great staff.
Great place for an educational outing with the whole family. Only gave it 4 stars because we visited on a public holiday & the crowd made it a little difficult to appreciate the full experience. Still, great place!
Excellent!
Great place for a date on a rainy day or to bring kids if you have them
It had been a long time since I had been to the museum. The "Body World" exhibit was very interesting. Seeing all of the muscles, and bones on the bodies was amazing. Thankyou to those who donated their bodies. Yes - these displays are of real bodies!!! Don't miss it!!! It is like looking at a body from the inside out.
Great place for young and old. The Egyptian exhibit was a highlight for me. Maybe if I go without my kids I could enjoy it more. They are taking covid seriously and the museum is now 1 way and some touching exhibits are no longer available.
Great afternoon with the girls. Free admission August and July.
Exhibits on Canadian History, Plant and animal life, Geology. Was expecting a bigger museum, but it's small and can be covered in an hour. The museum is free in the summer (July & August)
Great place to spend 1-2 hours with the kids. Plenty of interesting hands on exhibits and some live animals. Friendly staff. Reasonable admission prices.
My kids love it here. The sandbox is the biggest draw for them. The museum is interesting enough for an adult that it isn't painful going there regularly. We love seeing Gus and celebrating his birthday :)
Saw the temporary human body exhibit. It was really cool.
I have been here a few times while visiting family and have enjoyed the visits when I was in my teens
Great to see Gus again. Bin too long
So much fun! Family oriented! And a cute little gift shop!
Always an exciting place to explore! Great information on the flora and fauna of Nova Scotia. Very good displays about Sable Island!
The Body World RX exhibit was fantastic. I always totally enjoy my visits to the museum. It is a very wonderfully relaxing place. The staff are so fantastic and Gus is wonderful too ????
A good place for children to be entertained!
Great place to take the family when there's a special exhibit
Body works exhibition was really good, the rest of the museum is also good and relevant to the Maritimes.
Lovely place to learn about dinosaurs and other amazing animals.
Mummy exhibit right now is pretty cool
Always a fun place to visit. Staff had Gus, the turtle, out on the lawn & we were invited out to see him. Kids loved it!
A good place to visit on a rainy day. Gives you good impression of marine nature and history of NS
I took my doughter to see the dinosars it was awesome! She loved it!
The museum was wonderful with great descriptions and fun interactive exhibits. We had an excellent time during the Dinosaurs Unearthed event, the staff were pleasant, and the animatronics were engaging for my two year old.
Went to their special dinosaur exhibition...twice. Kids absolutely loved it! The museum itself is a nice place but not much changes over the years.
If you're a big nerd this will make you pop off: everything about it was soooooooo cool
Go see Gus the turtle
Wonderful spot. Saw Body Worx and enjoyed it. Their displays were dusty and glass needed cleaning. The main museum was much better. Would love more writeups on some of the local amphibians. Nice gift shop. Staff friendly. Free parking.
Very fun but small. The province needs to make this museum bigger and more imteractive. Very limited by space
Wonderful place to bring kids of all ages! The permanent exhibits are great and they have really gotten some amazing travelling exhibits in the last few years.
Excellent friendly staff, plus fun animals and displays.
The Kids loved our fun educational time learning about dinosours
Awesome collection, beautiful Egyptian exhibition
Take the kids for a great time and relearn some stuff your self
Nice museum but needs a bit of upkeep.
Been a favourite since I was a kid. Can't go without visiting Gus!
Very small, but great for the kids. The dinosaur exhibit was fantastic!
Great place, great displays!
Always an interesting afternoon. Been going there since I was a child and it's great to see my old friend Gus is still around.
The dinosaur exhibit on right now is amazing. Been there twice in the last month.
The dinosaurs are really fun. Great displays, our kid loved the experience. Will deffinitely come again.
The Donosaur exhibit is fantastic but they should have at least one night or day for just adults
I really enjoyed the Egyptian Mummies, but I do wish we had a larger museum in the city so that we could attract and host bigger exhibits.
It's very interesting and nice place to visit
Great display of Egyptian artifacts. Lots of Atlantic Canadian animals and sealife
We had a fantastic time. Only wish the museum was bigger!
Very cool museum! Not too much to see but just enough. Love the local animals! The spiders are a bit creepy but cool!
Small museum in Halifax. Very interesting exhibits. Make sure to see all the exhibits about local animals.
Really fun place for all ages, the Mummy exhibition was great!
Great fun at the dinosaur exhibit
The exhibits are limited, but the staff are friendly, smiling, and helpful. It is a history museum, but a lot of the things there have roots in what still happens today. Take a look if you have time!
My son and I enjoyed the dinosaur exhibit staff was very friendly and courteous keep up the good work
I love museums. I really loved this one.
Great for kids and adults. A lot of exhibits are great for learning, touch and learn. The displays are fantastic. For the price it's worth the adventure. Plan to spend at least 3 hours there. There is a lot to do and if you rush too quick you will miss a lot. It is better than a movie for the price.
I have been coming for over 40 years and still love it! I was expecting dinosaur models this morning at the travelling exhibit, but they're real! It was so nice seeing the Chinese dragon and display, too, as this time last year I was at the Chinese New Year parade in Ottawa and enjoyed the dragon for the first time. I was also able to identify some of my sea shells. Always clean, plus great staff!
Dinosaur exhibit was great, was a very busy day and the entrance lineup was fast.
Great experience, displays with buttons to push to hear animals. Fossils, animals, fish etc.
Love this Museum! Great place for families ! Loved the Lego exhibit! Nice friendly staff !
We had a great time lots to see and touch.
This was my first time there and the body world exhibit was amazing! I would go again!
It was a great family day . Young and old will love it
Building is enormous but exhibit area is way to small with a tiny gift shop with nothing worth the money. Though the cost to get in is great, they need a roof or something above there parking terminal.
Enjoyed very much
Amazing permanite exhibits and great and diverse exhibits brought in throughout the year
Great place to have a birthday party, my kid loved his dinosaur themed party!!! Amazing value for the price.
Great place
This museum was good. The bodyworks exhibit was amazing.
A fun place to take your kids for the afternoon and learn about some of the local wildlife
Huge fan of this museum. Loved the dinosaur exhibit
Great
Small and nice. Very Interactive for the kids. Sad that the animal Interaction areas were closed.
I really enjoyed visiting this museum! I was able to see the ancient egyptian display and it was really cool! Definitely worth the visit and also very family friendly! There's something interesting for the whole family!
Went to see the Egyptian exhibit and was pleasantly surprised by everything else they had too. The Egyptian Exhibit had a little bit of everything including real mummies!
Had a great visit with my friend and her daughters today and enjoyed the sites
Interesting with great displays. Price isn't too high. And love that they have different themes.
Love the turtle.
Love visiting this museum. Love visiting Gus the tortoise. Can easily spends a few hours wandering the galleries.
Some basic information about natural surroundings in NS area. The earth demo is great, but should be used more often, as it adds a lot to the visit. Very nice and welcoming staff
Excellent procedures to help during Covid. There was staff constantly cleaning. The exhibits were great, our young children really enjoyed it. Hi was their favourite part!
A nice place to visit in a rainy day
Mummys were cool. But other than that, its the same stuff from when I was 5.
It was a great experience for my daughter and me. Free admission for the summer, lots of great things to look at. My daughter enjoyed the live animals the most. ( Gus, snakes, turtles etc.) Thanks
An excellent way to spend an afternoon some very informative exhibits the only problem was finding parking.
I bring my kids here often to see each new exhibit and to say hello to Gus the tortoise. Friendly informative staff, fun atmosphere and interesting exhibits.
Very nice museum. You could spend hours in here if you had the time. Lots to learn and it's fun too.
I've spent time at this museum with my children and now with my grand children. We have always had a rewarding experience and lively discussions about new learnings. Thank you for your excellence.
Super fun museum and we learned a lot of things . Should stop for a visit.
Took my grandson to the dinosaur exhibition. He loved it. The animation was fantastic
An awesome way to spend time, learning about history
A good way to spend a few hours. Unfortunately, many of my favourite exhibits from childhood are no longer there, but there's still a lot to do and see.
Very nice place to visit...????
Good new to me indigenous exhibit at the beginning, the Egyptian exhibit was interesting (my only suggestion would be directional arrows in each exhibit room to help traffic flow), liked the Sable Island exhibit which I also hadn't seen before
Its a late post, but the exhibits the museum puts on, are absolutely spectacular. And, the museum itself is an experience, that, i will take my child to many, many more times, so many things to see and learn about our Globe and Nova Scotia, all the animals and birds, and sea life....it goes on and on...Love this place❤
Great spot and enjoy seeing the new exhibits!
They're body x world exhibit was amazing as was their tortus walk. Except for the fact that it was cut short due to a child not being kept away from the poor tortoise by his mother.
Great experience for the old and the young. Interesting displays.
This is a great place to visit. There was lots to see and do. It is really entertaining and would recommend it for all ages. The museum is well located and easily accessible. There was plenty of interesting displays and activities to keep all ages engaged in their visit.
I haven't been there since they were on Spring Garden Rd (I think). A lot of the same displays from 30 years ago. Smaller than I expected. Still, a nice place to visit.
Fun
Great place to take the family. The dinosaur exhibit was very informative. The employees were friendly and helpful!
Really nice small place with alot of cool things to see.
Great museum with regularly changing exhibits so you can come back every few months and see something new and exciting again.
Great place, really fun, I just wish it was bigger. Also shoutout to the guy who gives the presentation in the room with projectors. He is super cool and knowledgable
Really fun spot the exhibit on arachnids was interesting. Got to see gus out in the yard. Definitely worth a stop while in the area.
Fun place to take kids. A must visit for kids of all ages!
I like almost any museum, but I feel this museum need a new designer bc turns a little boring when you are walking around. But thanks for the little frogs, are so cute ????
Awesome Egyptian display.
Differnet things to enterain the different ages. Gus the tortoise.
Dinosaur exhibit was great, but it would be nice if the rest was updated. I'm not sure if that's a big ask, but it's the same as I remember from my childhood.
Great time and very informative
Love this museum. It's well worth the steep cost, but the parking is also super $$.
Great for children and people that want to know more about the Nova Scotia Natural history.
Cute little museum. Love the changing exhibits, Gus the tortoise and it's affordability!
Was not able to see the current exhibit due to long line up so we decided to tour the regular exhibits. They have not changed or been updated in decades. Some were damaged or not working. The snakes, frogs etc. were a big hit as usual.
Great space to walk through even though half of the space was closed for renovations.
Amazing place to expand your knowledge! Very interactive and entertaining. Perfect spot for family adventures!!
Great museum, I bring my kids here often and used to visit often as a kid myself. The exhibits change regularly and I find new things in the older exhibits every visit. It was a little crowded but is handling covid restrictions well. Gus is always fun to see as are all the little animals. They're current exhibits are very photo friendly and encourage pictures.
The Dinosaur Display is excellent for the little ones and grandparents alike!! Go early!!
The fossil exhibit they had was cool! Small, but cool. They have a neat touch tank area where an employee is there to educate you on starfish, crabs and scallops/mussels. Worth a visit!
Always a great time at the museum, good fares. And it's always nice to see what gus is up to!
I love going to the new temporary exhibits that they bring in.
The exhibits were fabulous, well laid out and there was staff circulating to help answer any questions that arose.
We went to see body world's RX. It wasn't a large exhibit but that was expected! They should definitely update the building. Its looking very tired and outdated.
the projections of various weather patterns and temperature indexes around the world was very cool. As was the display of the various planets. Gus the tortoise is very cute when he goes on his walks. the animals displays and information is very neat. at the time we had just missed the last special exhibit but those are usually fun. I remember the African animals one a few years ago specifically.
Seen the Egypt mummy display amazing
Such a fun place, great for a date, cheap and they do new exhibits all the time. They had spiders and scorpions when we went.
Friendly staff, quality exhibits, learned a lot of neat facts on our trip!!! I'm so glad we made the detour to see it!
I love taking my daughter here. An annual pass is a steal and great for rainy days and special exhibits. My daughter is in a wheelchair and the museum is accessible with lots of displays at toddler eye level. They also have a play space and parking is decent. If it's really busy you can park at the iwk parkade for same price.
