ABSOLUTELY amazing! You can tell the animals are well cared for and it's amazing to see these types of animals up close. All the workers were super friendly and informative! It was interesting to be able to see the animals in the middle of Molting/Shedding season too! The goats in the petting Zoo are so friendly and adorable! Made my whole day better by getting to befriend a couple of them!! The food was great and the Gift Shop had some neat stuff, I will be checking out their website/online shop too!

Very fun place for children and adults! The safari ride was the best and the rest of the park was amazing! Well worth the price to pay off which is cheaper than any other zoo we have been to! They had a good selection of food to eat for lunch at decent prices! They're are several play areas and picnic areas as well!

I absolutely love coming here and bringing my daughter. Our most recent visit was great! She loved it. I love that the safari tour is back open. I wish some of the caged areas were bigger for the animals, makes me sad. I can’t wait to bring her back. She loved feeding the animals on the ride and in the petting area.

So much fun! Had a great time doing the safari tour by car, so many cool animals. A few got really close to the car. Great for pictures. Walking around the park was great. So many different animals. A few came to see us as we hiked along the trail going to the Giraffe exhibit. Feeding the Giraffe with my 4 year old was a blast. Then seeing all the cool bigger animals. Going to the petting zoo was a treat. Got to feed a horde of goats, a horsey.. really great day trip with kids.. could have done with sunscreen though. Our fault, we forgot. All in all it was a very worthwhile trip.

Great family getaway hidden in central PA. Definitely a memorable experience for kids of all ages. There's even good educational signs and the safari staff have a lot of knowledge as well. Good mixture of native animals to North America and animals from overseas. First time to ever see up close and personal with a baby ostrich and kangaroo. Try to plan your day around the activities... giraffe feeding, safari ride and reptile show. Free parking, and you can bring your own lunch too. Would recommend if you need a break from daily life routine. P.S. - Scott was an awesome Safari tour guide!

Best place ever, lots of exotic animals, petting zoo , love the giraffes....and the safari bus....it will take you out and wild animals come up to the bus and eat food....such an experience. Make sure you get there early....

First time are family was there. The safari was awesome. It is 45 mins and goes by way to quick. Scott was our guide,he was great. The whole staff was so friendly and so knowledgeable. We saw all the attractions. We also had lunch. The park was well maintained. I'm telling everybody that will listen they need to check out Lake Tobias.

It was a great place to spend the day with the family. Plenty to do and see, I would recommend getting there as soon as they open and doing the safari ride first. The line can get long quick and will eat up a lot of your time, but it is worth the wait. The free veterans admission was very nice and appreciated. You can also fish on the lake which was a nice surprise. I highly recommend this place for a nice day trip getaway!

Wow, I have to say that I never knew this place existed until my daughter's boy friend took here here. Nestled in the hills and far away from the city this was a really cool place to go for the day. Plenty fo animals to see and the safari trip was very cool to see and feed the wildlife. Prices were excellent for the day as $15 gets you the walking park and safari. Well worth it and I would recommend it to anyone with kids.

Awesome place for the family or for a date. I don’t know if this place considers itself a zoo, but it’s one of the best in the area. The open air safari ride is better than Disney’s because the animals get up close and personal. Feed the zebra, llamas, and feel the antlers of reindeer and Buffalo. Follow that up in the walking area where you can feed giraffes and pet an alligator. Because that’s what normal people do!

I loved it. Even though we visited on a hot day, my kids and I really enjoyed ourselves. The safari tour was amazing and so was the guide Terry. I will definitely be back on a cooler day. I do wish that the safari trucks had some type of awning for super hot days though lol.

This place is very nice. It also acknowledges the military. Thank you. There was a limo driver named Mike and he was a wonderful driver and added fun fact information guide. The only downside was how most college kids drove around with golf carts and never asked if someone like me with a temp handicap needed assistance. The safari tour guy was so enamored by a specific group that he forgot the rest of the people on his tour and their needs.

I usually get depressed around caged animals, but Tobias lake has a very open Safari attraction as well. The zoo is one of my family's favorite places. Now in particular, take your own car into an unguided safari, at least until a cure for covid 19 becomes available. The guided tour will always be worth it once things return to normal. Fingers crossed.

I'm tempted to give this 5 stars, but I don't often give 5 stars. The price is very good, especially if you take the safari. The safari was shorter than I thought it would be, but still very entertaining, interactive, and my group thoroughly enjoyed it. The open space is beautiful with animals roaming around. Peacocks run free, the giraffes were very interactive, the petting zoo was fun and funny. I was a bit concerned that the lion and tiger habitats look small. I hope they keep entertained, but I don't know. The reptile show could be a bit more enthusiastic (the 2 providing the show were knowledgeable, but obviously going through the motions, yet they still did a good job at showing the animals so that everyone could appreciate it without big disruption to the animals themselves). We thoroughly enjoyed our time. It's small enough to be done in a few hours, but make a day of 8t and you can better appreciate it.

Had a blast today! The park had enough stuff to do to occupy me and my girlfriend for 5 hours. The Safari Experience was worth the extra 7$. Definitely buy some feed for the safari ride and go first thing in the morning to skip the line.

This is a fantastic place to take the kids to learn about the animals and get a chance to be interactive with the animals. It's a great day trip for adults, children and families. Our whole family had a wonderful day at Lake Tobias. It is a beautiful setting, and the staff was very helpful. With many grandchildren along I was pleased to find the the food, drink, and gift shop prices affordable. I want to thank the staff with the golf carts who ferried my husband and me when we had trouble walking. It was a fantastic day for all of us. ????????????

REALLY wonderful place to take the whole family. They have a surprisingly large and varied collection of animals . The park is laid out so it is easy to navigate & see everything. The open top tour bus through the pasture is not to be missed. Some of the animals will approach the bus to be fed & it is a great opportunity to see how large some of these animals are ( Bison, elk, emus, llama, Asian water Buffalo, etc.). & photo opportunities abound! There are many enclosures to view other animals- lions, tigers, bears, giraffes alligators, and enclosed houses that contain more exotic species, like reptiles primates & birds. Too much to try to describe in a short review. The staff was extremely helpful & patient- especially when dealing with large numbers of children & guests who seemed to push the boundaries of what is allowed or appropriate at a wildlife park. Major kudos to them! The animals seemed to be well cared for & the staff treat them with respect & kindness. ( once again, major props to the staff). All in all I would highly recommend a visit to Lake Tobias & we plan on a return visit in the spring!

One of the best safari and wildlife place in central PA. We go often with kids and kids love exploring animals and feeding them. Also have pavilion to rent for birthday and other family events. Definitely recommended feeding giraffe and safari tour. Staff is very friendly. Keep enough time to explore everything.

There is so much to see and experience here! Very affordable admission with a couple of options. Pay the extra few bucks for the Explorer which includes the Safari tour on an open air bus where you can feed the wildlife Plenty of good food options with decent prices and plenty of shelter to enjoy, refuel and take a load off.

So many animals from around the world. Focus on education and experiencing them up close! Thay have made many improvements to the traffic flow and animal enclosures. Safari ride was just part of the fun! Appropriate for guests of all ages, but be ready to walk on uneven terrain. Picnic lunches welcome.

We absolutely love Lake Tobias! So much fun for all ages. The only complaint I have is that to get to the giraffes is a long, uphill walk for anyone with disabilities. We made it but it was rough. Maybe find an easier solution? Other than that we loved it!

Lake Tobias Review... $15 person (includes 1 safari ride) Parking is free Food and drink prices are reasonable but I recommend packing a cooler of drinks for your car since parking is close to everything. It was hot but you can checkout the small museum or reptile exhibit to catch some A/C and cool off. The lemon blueberry crunch ice cream was really good. Burgers, chicken tenders and fries were good for a quick lunch. Doors open at 10am. We got there around 10am and we hit up the safari while there was no line. It's about a 30-40 min ride. It's a great opportunity for kids to get up and close to the animals. Snowball the moose came right onto the truck and we had the first seats which was great. We did the ???? feeding and they have those at scheduled times. We ended with the petting zoo where the kids loved all the baby goats. We stayed from 10-3 and there were plenty of animals to see and it's pretty inexpensive.

The price was excellent for the experience. We waited an acceptable amount of time for the safari ride. It was fun to feed the animals. We're we're able to view a wide variety of animals. The giraffes were my favorite. (Not apart of the safari ride). We were able to visit them at feeding time. There is a great reptile house and petting zoo. We didn't eat at the park. So I don't know what the food was like.

This place is amazing, they have different exotic and wild animals, a petting Zoo, they have a true Safari with tons of different species. You can feed the animals carrots, also a good place for wildlife photography. Perfect for kids, they have a petting Zoo, watch out Goats chew on ur hair and clothes jajajjaa but they’re SOOOOO cuteeeee!!! Bring comfy clothes, comfy shoes, sneakers will be better to be able to walk around specially if you’re pregnant of have back problems. They have a fishing lake and also they take you on a car to see the animals around the park. Def worth it to get the $15 pass

First time visitor over the weekend and it was amazing! My son (1.5yrsold) had a blast, the petting zoo and feeding the giraffes was our favorite part. I'm sure we would've loved the safari ride too but it was very crowded, we plan on going back again so we will do that first thing next time. We did catch one of the shows in the reptiles area and that was very informative and another nice hands-on experience.

The animals seem to be treated very well, compared to some zoos I have visited. Social distancing is doable here, but I would avoid the reptile house. The maximum allowed is too high with all the kids jamming together to see each exhibit.

What a great place for families to spend the day. The safari tour was Awesome! Seeing these exotic animals up close was Awesome! We were able to enjoy a picnic lunch then enjoy the zoo animals and reptile house. Definitely well worth the drive and money. Plan to spend at least 4-5 hours here. It's really neat.

Over all it's a great place to take the kids. There is enough there to keep the kids going and on the drive home they will sleep I'm sure. The Safari ride was really good and Mr McDonald who drove the bus I think it's he did a good job. Make sure you take plenty of carrots or pop corn to feed the animals cuz those animals know when the bus is getting ready to stop.

Fun place for kids and adults. Military get in free. They have a safari tour, a petting zoo, reptile show, animals on exhibit, and food. Prices are $8 to get in and another $7 for the safari, which is in open busses and some of the animals come right up to the bus for food. Had a good time.

We had a wonderful day at Lake Tobias…. Ages 5 - 89. There was plenty to do, and the Safari ride is a must! The price is amazing! They have a tremendous friendly staff, and provide easy golf cart transport throughout the entire park. My mom loved the service, and the ability to see all of the attractions without extensive walking! Jeff was superb and very attentive to her needs!! The animal habitats are fun and clean, with easy viewing. Kids loved the petting zoo and reptile/exotics house! There are lots of picnic pavilions available, along with playground areas which our littles (5 and 7) really enjoyed!

Could use a couple more family bathrooms for those of us with kids with challenges but overall I could not recommend it more.

Great experience being up close and personal with wildlife. There's no words to describe what it's like hand feeding buffalo! It's very clean, the staff is well educated and personable, and admission and food prices are very affordable! I was there twice in 3 months and I will return again. I wish it was less than two hours away, but the drive was worth the adventure!

This quaint little gem was perfect for our 4 y.o. It was big enough to tire her out, yet not so big where I had to carry her half way through it. There was virtually no crowd and we were able to interact with over half the animals. I will defiantly recommend this to friends and family.

The area where the park is located is just beautiful, so peaceful. The animals are well cared for, the caregivers and staff are very knowledgeable. The reptile show is very interesting even though I hate snakes! The best feature of the park is the safari tours. Love it. They also have great food picnic tables, and nice little gift shop.

Amazing wild life safari ride. Worth the $15 and kids enjoyed feeding animals. There is an exotic reptiles area where kids can touch a few and feel it. A small bird watch area and a lot of open space for the kids to play. Petting area has goats. A lot of animals as well and it is worth the pennies spent. I would rather go here that a big crowded zoo. You can get so much closer to the animals, especially on the safari! The prices for admission, food, and gift shop are also so much more affordable than other places. It's a fun time for everyone from small children to grandparents.

A absolute blast if you love animals. The safari ride was a great time despite the heat. The line moves very quick and the staff are very friendly and well educated. All the pens were clean and the animals very well kept. The Reptile room was very cool with the center of it for educational shows. You can also touch a ball python in there as well as a baby alligator. The petting zoo is a must if you have little kids. The gift shop is a decent size and the prices are very reasonable.

This place is wild, I loved it. It is both educational and fun. The staff are friend and helpful.. The other patrons were also friendly. The food is out of this world. Try the bison burger you may never eat beef again.. The work they do reviving extinct species is to be comended. I highly recommend it.

An absolutely wonderful park full of very well-maintained enclosures and healthy animals. The layout of the park is very wide and you don't feel claustrophobic among the other park guests. The amount of animals they have here is fantastic. The food offerings they have surprised me as they have BBQ as well as traditional zoo food! The prices for the food are shockingly low as well! The lake offers beautiful views from all sides and you can sit with your loved ones and relax. One of the best wildlife parks I have ever visited, I had a wonderful time photographing the beautiful animals. Next time I visit I will take up the safari tour!

One of the coolest small local zoos around you can feed the giraffes, see all other kinds of cute animals. You only spend a few hours there for a reasonable price and have a good time while you do it

This was better than what I remembered from my childhood and I was glad I got to take my son and my husband while I was visiting with family! The staff were super friendly! They even helped us out with bandaid when my sons sandals caused his feet to blister. 10/10 recommend! Just make sure you wear comfortable shoes, not sandals. A hat/cap would be a good idea on sunny days. Oh! I cannot wait to go back!!! The safari is awesome too! Make sure you get animal treats from the stand! They also offer a military discount to active duty personnel (must show ID at gate).

Loved this place a little zoo with a big experience. Loved the open air safari. The safari was mainly herding animals such as Elk, Deer, Cattle of different types from all over the world. You can actually feed these animals which is such an unusual experience. They also have reptiles, exotic monkeys, big cats, bears and a petting zoo. They offer food concession stands and feed and treats to feed the animals. Their latest acquisition is 3 young reticulated giraffes and you can actually watch or feed these boys. Had a wonderful experience and the kids surrounding me had a ball too

Haven't been there in 15 years. Hasn't changed much. Better parking and a little more animals. Didn't go on the safari tour which is back up and running. They now have a handicapped bus that has a wheelchair lift. That's something new. Next time my family and I go, we will have to use that for my mother.

My daughter and I go here every year and we love it! The place is gorgeous and well taken care of and the animals actually look healthy and happy and are living in clean nice spaces. The petting zoo is always fun and the staff is friendly. Just be prepared that the wait for the safari tour can be almost 2 hours so plan carefully when you go!

My family had a really great time yesterday. The staff made it especially memorable. Cindy was our safari driver, and she was especially accomodating to my child who sat in the front to ask questions about the animals. She even repeated some of the facts to the visitors that my son was telling her about the animals. He was thrilled about the experience. There was also a gentleman at the snack booth where the safari line is, and when my 2yo got stung by a yellow jacket he came over to where we were standing to give us a sting wipe from the first aid kid. Later we had left a water bottle on the bus and he made sure to return it. Trying to keep after 3 excited kids by yourself can be challenging, but the staff made it a little easier. Thank you!

We absolutely love lake Tobias. This was the first time we hosted a birthday party (for our 4 year old) and it well exceeded our expectations for minimal cost. All of our group had an awesome time. The safari is a cant miss and Lisa our tour guide (with the coolest giraffe boots!) was absolutely outstanding! She made sure that my small nephews and all others on our safari tour were included. Super interactive and knowledgeable you can absolutely tell she loves her job and that surely makes the difference especially to the little ears listening. Incredible day with the ending being feeding the beautiful giraffes. There isn’t a summer that goes by that we don’t visit at least 2-3 times❤️

Honestly I wish I could give this place 6 stars. Lots of different animals to see and the price was 15 dollars including the guided safari. Speaking of which, the bus safari was one of my favorite experiences as the tour guide was very knowledgeable about all the animals and was very energetic. I liked the 3$ souvenir cup of treats you can have for the trip to feed the animals with. The location also had wide open spaces for a lot of the animals to roam around in. We didn't eat there but it looked like the food was well priced and the bottles of water weren't crazy expensive like other places can be. This is a great find and would recommend it to all ages. You will not regret it, especially for the price!

Beautiful place! Animals come first with these folks, but there is plenty of interaction with them via the safari bus. The guides are AWESOME, a wealth of knowledge about the animals. They will do everything they can to get the animals to come to the bus. They will eat the treats they sell (very reasonably priced) right out of your hand! They really go all out to keep things as natural as possible for the animals. Veterans and current military folks get in FREE!!! An awesome adventure to be sure. Large parking areas, and all the pathways are disabled accessible. Friendly helpful staff, ALL are very knowledgeable about the various animals. Highly recommend this Wildlife Park for a great day outing!

The zoo itself is small but had nice animal enclosures that appeared clean and the animals were well cared for. The reptile show was very interesting and informative. The safari ride was about 45 minutes long and was a highlight of the visit. Many of the animals you can touch on the safari ride ( I would suggest you buy some of the food they have there before the safari ride to get the animals to come close to you so you can touch them). There are picnic areas to enjoy a lunch you can either buy there or bring from home. Military veterans get in for free. Otherwise the cost is very fair (15 dollars per adult) for both the zoo entry and safari ride. The petting zoo was fun for both adults and the kids.

It is a nice place to visit and see some animals and take a safari on an open school bus. You want to go early In the morning as soon as it opens to beat the crowd. On hot days the animals don't seem to be as active. It is a 15 dollar charge for a ticket to go on the safari. That is all inclusive.

Awesome place. A wide variety of animals and at a super reasonable price. Don't waste money at overpriced zoos. This place is just amazing. Be sure to sit at the front of the bus on the safari tour because you will be able to be closer to the animals when they try to come on the bus!!! Also as little tip, buy the safari cups and do the safsri first. Feed the animals with the park food and when the safari is done, just get a refill of park food. Much cheaper. Plus bring quarters so you can buy food for the adorable goats at the petting zoo. Trust me it is worth it.

Quick notes Bring quarters, there are machines to get food for animals through out the park 1 cup of animal food per kid is good, some animals prefer the carrots other the crunchy things, so try to split it up as a parent is a bit of a challenge but worth it, and you can refill the cups for half price. Sit in the middle of the bus, animals seem to realize that is where they can get the most food. Left or right side of the bus does not really matter, but if you have a party of 4 it is good to go across the aisle as at times the animals may be only in one side. They are serious about feeding time for giraffes, it is the only time you can feed them, but if you go outside of that time they may come over and let you pet them, we got lots of quality time with them which was pretty cool... The petting zoo has a very diverse set of animals, which makes it a lot of fun, be sure to feed the babies on the other side of the fence.

This place made a handicap person feel so happy and excited, they treated her like she was a queen. We were so happy to take her just to the petting zoo but then to find out that they could take her on the safari ride was so amazing. We went to lake Tobias last week and had a great time. If you’re looking for an up close experience with animals definitely go on the safari. I’d recommend going first thing because the line can get really long. And buy the food to feed the animals or you’ll be sitting there while everyone else is feeding them! The exhibits were nice and clean and the animals were all really active. We also caught some of the reptile show that was really informative and engaging. The petting zoo was a little crazy and the goats were definitely not shy. I wouldn’t take kids in there if they are scared of animals in any way. But all around we had a really fun time :)

It was a beautiful day to see the animals. There are a lot of habitats and and the park is beautiful. I only have two critiques, the property is fairly sprawling, so there is a lot of walking. The other frustrating thing was with the food, the regular food was available at lunch time, but the ice cream wasn't going to be available an indeterminate time "maybe 3 o'clock." We had a wonderful time.

We walked around to see more animals, a Tiger, bear, alligators, zebras and a noisy ribbon you can hear around the park. Had a good lunch and saw the giraffes before we left for home. Lake Tobias was awesome and inexpensive! For $15 you can visit this huge zoo and go safari! It's a big place so definitely wear comfortable shoes that you don't mind getting dirty or can easily. According to Google Fit I walked 4.71 miles that day at the zoo. The 1.5hr drive was worth it. Bonus the food is inexpensive or you can bring your own. They have carts and buggies for smaller children.

Wow!!! They have really outdone themselves. Now you can drive your own car thru the park!! Very well done the kids really enjoyed it. The walking part was nice as well. Everything was clean and they reinforced social distance and masks in indoor locations. Nice adjustment to keep the doors open and customers flowing.

Lake Tobias is great fun! This was my 3rd time here. The animals are beautiful and friendly. It's great to see a gibbon up close. Interacting with these animals is an incredible experience. It's $8 per person for the walk thru and petting zoo. It's great for a family day out or a first date. The staff is friendly and helpful. The animals need larger enclosures so spend your money here for a fun day and a great cause. 5 stars!

Our guide named Mr. Macaroni was awesome. He gave us detailed information about the different animals on the land. It was a great time !!! The other exhibits were wonderful as well. The petting zoo was filled with goats and sheep. There is even a camel as well. Now of course any park or zoo has souvenir shops. They were a bit on the pricy side but what isn't nowadays. Again everything about this park was amazing. If around the Halifax area or just traveling it is a great place to go. :)

Was my boyfriend & daughters 1st time....def had a fun time. Many good memories of that day. Absolutely LOVED the monkeys ???? I am definitely returning in the close future with my other children. Still have to check out the ????Reptile area, the petting zoo & need more time in the gift shop! ** Due to Covid I feel they should however only sit people every other seat on the safari bus ride. Instead cram the bus full with people sitting in every seat like there's no pandemic going on. Mask or not my 2yr old an many other small children don't wear a mask....in which the every other seat distancing would've been much appreciated **

It's a nice, clean place. It's a decent size and the price is fantastic, 8 dollars for the standard walk around the park and 15 for the walk and safari tour package. It's great for kids and fun for adults as well, if you like animals. Their petting zoo is mostly pygmy goats which left a little to be desired but was still fun and the goats are pretty cute. There's a nice variety of animals from all over the world to look at, it's not as large or varied as a major zoo, but the pricing easily makes up for it. Pavilions are available to bring your own food, playground areas are also nearby for the children as well as a fishing area. All in all it's a fun and inexpensive trip.

OMG!What a wonderful day we had today! Best zoo I’ve ever been with my kids!We like it more than Washington and New York zoo! This zoo is more homey and cozy. The animals are very well-groomed and well-fed. Safari-tour on buses is just great! We spent 4 hours there and will definitely come back for more. The only advice is to wear comfortable shoes( gravel paths). Admission-15$ with safari and 8$ without. Food for animals on safari costs 3$ in their branded cups (take more and keep the food for antipope. They are at the very end and they don’t get it). Food for giraffe 6$ -beens and carrots,10$-acacia branch, 6$ -crackers.

It seems a nice place and good for families with children. There is a petting area. They allow you to touch a couple reptiles. Pros: I saw a few baby animals (camel, monkey, goats, and yak), nice staff, enough parking space, free military admission. Cons: it is smaller than I expected. I was before in similar place in San Antonio and it was huge and allowed drive thru in your own car. Here you need to stand in a long line to get on the bus for safari. No shade for at least half of the line. Although we bought tickets for safari, we decided it is not worth to stand in the line for a long time when it is hot and no shade . Nobody wears masks and no social distancing at all. Also you need coins to buy food for animals.
