This Zoo corresponds to the category of Park.
One of my favorite parks in the Comox Valley. I've been coming here throughout the year to observe the changes of the seasons. The forest walk can be nice and quiet but I enjoy the beach area with wildlife such as seals, bald eagles, blue heron, ducks and cormorants. The only drawback is the area does get a lot of noisy jet traffic flying overhead because the airport is close by.
Forest bathing therapy♡♡♡
Beautiful
Nothing beats a hot beverage and a morning stroll at this heart filling location. Seals can be seen decently close to shore as well.
We saw actual seals. 100%
Beautiful walking spot. Kids, dogs, oldsters ... All welcome!
Peaceful
Nature's park enhanced with man-made walking trails & horse riding trails, well marked, B.C. is a wonderland
Easy to navigate around first time visit, easy walk. Beautiful views.
Beautiful park with sn abundance of trails. Spectacular views of the strait and lovely coastal forest.
Beautiful park and a refreshing walk!
Great trails, Beach accessible
Beautiful park. Easy trails.
Just wonderful
Very calm and cute
First time here! It was a beautiful walk! However it was a little confusing on which direction to go to get down to the bay. The trail was well maintained and the views were lovely.
Great campground and sites
Rocky beach but the park is excellent
Great trails. Very scenic.
Such a great spot in the Courtenay area. So good you want to keep it a secret :)
I just love the trails that take you to the beach. They help you unwind from life's stresses as you anticipate the gorgeous beach. I recommend this park to anyone who appreciates west coast nature!
Bring proper footwear and enjoy the scenery.
Nice place to walk and head down to the beach. Lots of fall leaves at this time of the year.
Great trails!
A beautiful, peaceful walk through natural foliage and trees.
A nature park close to everything Seal Bay has a wild beauty. Some of the trails down to the ocean are steep and I wouldn't suggest doing if you have balance issues unless you have a walking partner. However there are other trails through the forest that go over stream and gorges via bridges that are smooth and easy walking. Although they advertise one path as wheelchair accessible, it is a gravel pathway that would make for a bumpy ride and not an easy push for the companion. Seals and eagles are a common sight from the beach.
Paths down to the ocean are beautiful.
Beautiful park, lots of trail, benches to take breaks on and lots to explore.
Great spot for big trees and peekaboo ocean views
Beautiful
Amazing scenic trails, the beach has a great view and lots of sealife. We saw multiple sea lions/seals, and a heron hunting as well. Great place to visit.
No word just go
Beautiful place for a easy nature hike.
It's naturally beautiful.
Awesome for bike rides or walks amongst nature!
Great for walks that vary from short 20 minute trips to longer ones around the whole park! Easy for a stroller to maneuver, and always clean, seal bay is our go to walking spot!
Nice quiet well looked after park. Lots of walking areas. Play areas good size private RV lots. Driving through Courtney to get here was relatively easy. Access to Parks and Ocean is easy to. Staff is friendly and people are very quiet. Definitely will put his place on the list for places to stay again.
Several different loops of varying distance and some with beach access (steep and rocky) some are wheel chair accessible with some assistance. West (Mountain) Side of Bates leash free, horse and bike friendly, so be prepared East(Ocean) Side trails are leash only no bikes or horses. Nice easy hiking minimal vertical gain unless you access beach. Outhouses both sides and garbage containers.
Trail was nice for a walk
Well maintained and good signage
Beautiful but didn't see any seals.
Beautiful trail full of beautiful nature!
Lovely forest and pebbly beach walks. Loop trails.
Such a beautiful park, went yesterday and loved it. The only thing is the lot is all by itself, nothing residential around and there is a sign that said frequent break ins. I just took my wallet and my phone with me, wouldn't leave anything in the car. Otherwise a truly gorgeous easy hike, the park is huge, going there exploring again today!
Many well maintained trails in a beautiful forest.
This is a go-to spot to take a great walk through some west coast woods. benches, bathrooms, beach access... beautiful.
Lots of various walking trails. Very well maintained, but all signage removed. I think they are putting up new ones. Switchback trails to get to the ocean, so that part not good of you have physical limitations.
Excellent spot to just get out, hike the trails and enjoy the ocean
Mostly in the shade. Lovely walk with our pooches.
Seal bay is great! Owners and staff friendly, camp itself is beautifully treed and landscaped. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would ????
A perfect place to walk and relax!
Such a nice family park..easy hiking...beach access..well groomed trails
Class A trail system through lovely natural forest and a great beach. Stroller accessible.
Nice but very busy at times.
Beautiful park to walk through to get to the water. Very tranquil. Trails are well maintained & clean throughout.
Beautiful spot. Go far to the right from the road to git the easier access to the beach (otherwise it's pretty precious).
Magnificent nature park. Great walking trails.
I love this place.
Beautiful walking and bicycle trails. Suitable for all ages and abilities.
Good walking and quiet beach
I always enjoy this spot. Lots of trails and loops to try out. You can connect from the ocean side to the Hardy road loops by crossing the road. Beautiful scenery through out.
(Translated) Great traiks (Original) Great traiks
Decent walk, nice gravel paths.
Nice park and Beach. Going at low tide is the best. Easy parking. Watch out for deer along the road.
Nice walking trails
Great place for a nice walk in nature.
Just remember... what walks down to the beach, must walk back up! Lol. Beautiful trails, nice walk to take pictures, see nature, bring your leashed dogs... just a great place to visit! ????
So pretty and relaxing
Beautiful!!
Nice easy trail for exercising
I love this place. It's a nice walk and the park has many interesting trails, both over the cliff and along the beach. Got to see about 6-8 seals. Visiting the place is much better coz you can have a better walk on the beach.
Nice park with no seals
We only went on the water side. Very green, tons of ferns, beautiful ravine on path down to the water. Beach had lots of creatures, think I saw my first bristol worm. The seals were a ways off but listening to their antics with each other and the seagulls was entertaining. Will come another time to check out the march walk.
Very Nice
Great place for hikes! So many different levels of difficulty. From flat to steep, great for an afternoon walk to the beach or up into the forest. There is out houses along the beach side of the park.
Very peaceful, nature at its finest. Trees, wildlife and a beautiful ocean:) ☆☆☆☆☆
The trails here are beautiful and very well maintained. Lots of different pathways to take makes every visit unique.
Very nice, quiet and large open spaces. Nice washroom facilities. All in all a great place to stay.
Dense Forest and fantastic view of the ocean!
Great trail we took our 1 and 2 year olds on the 10km loop. Nice trail for kids.
Amazing trails. Especially great after a rainfall; the way the moss, and trees glisten with the sun I stunning! The trails are well kept and are a pleasure to walk through.
Breathtaking view of the ocean and lots of exploring to do on the beach.
Amazing west coast walking/ running trails. We go here all the time :)
Great trails. Manageable with 3yr old.
Really great trails for running, walking, or horse riding. It has a very secluded feel to it, giving anyone who goes there a chance to unplug from the world. Trails are very well maintained and the park itself is split on either side of Bates Rd. The ocean side has an amazing view with several paths running down to the beach. The only downside as far as I can tell is that there are no buses that go there. Other than that, it's a great place to commune with nature.
Great place to take a walk or short hike... The forrest is nice and quite and a shortish walk takes you to a nice beach.....
Nice hike. Different levels of difficulty. Stairs to the ocean or a wood chip path..well maintained.
Amazingly huge park with the best trails. Dog friendly I believe
Great trails
Beautiful trails through the forest and down to the Bay. Great hike
Fantastic ocean view park with trails spread out all over. Great place to take your dog, jog, walk or picnic at many walk downs to the beaches. One of my favorites in the Comox Courteney are ☺
Good place
Well maintained trails that are wide enough for strollers and families. The accessibility to the shore is great as there are switchbacks to take you down/up. Looks like Jurassic Park with oodles of ferns and soft mosses. Takes a very short while to walk from parking lot to water. At low tide you can look for purple sea stars.
Plenty of great trails, both down to the ocean and in the forest above. Because of the aspect and the slope, the beach mainly gets sun in the mornings. The trails are relatively flat except for a well built trail with lots of switch backs going down to the beach.
Great walk for kids and dogs alike
This place has everything including a fishing pond, outside kitchen area, pavillion, drive thru full service sites for $43.05 including taxes. No highway or city noise.
Keep this one on the list
Really nice park with great walks
Winter 2016 Fall 2017. This a beautiful year round resort
A wild forest of mystical powers!
Wonderful walk with many trails
Interesting variety of molds and mushrooms. Also nice walk.
Like this park always a great walk and lots of trails ie Coupland Loop . Walk down to ocean nice too. .
great hike :)
A nice place to go for a walk. Short and long walks. lots of wildlife around the lake. Access to a nice shoreline. lots of mud. Still people that feel its ok to have their dog off leash!! its not. be prepared.
It's an ok place for a hike, the beach it's pretty rough and noisy from the airport nearby, wouldn't go out of my way to go there.
Good trails
Had a great walk and met a few nice folks on the trail but not overcrowded. My child really enjoyed exploring the beach!
Very nice place
Great place to bring the trailer. Well maintained.
Just walking through the forest trails is very relaxing.
Only trees, like wheres the playground of it's a park bruv
Absolutely amazing beautiful park
Beautiful serene nature park.
Love this spot. It’s a great little hike down to the water. The trees and ferns are amazing.
Great trails.
Very beautiful! Tons of paths to walk and walk your dog....nature at its finest!
Beautiful trails, beach access.
Beautiful quiet
What a great trail system. The trails are well constructed, maintained and signed. The trails between Bates Road and Seal Bay are pedestrian only and fairly easy walking. However, there are a few opportunities to take side trails down to the beach. These can be quite steep and not for everyone. The trails on the other side of Bates Road are a combination of Multi-Use (horse, cyclists and pedestrians), Cyclists & Pedestrians and Pedestrians Only. The Pedestrian Only trails are quite flat and relatively easy walking. The other trails have a bit more up and down to them, but none are difficult. They are quite enjoyable both on foot and by bike. There is a good variety of trees and vegetation, a large marsh and a small lake. Overall, in combination with the birds and wildlife, these trails should hold your interest.
Awesome park ..great trails and lots of viewing areas.
Peaceful and beautiful!
Beautiful place to take a quiet forest walk.
Excellent trails. Beautiful
Awesome trails to walk ????????????
Easy trail to navigate with a moderate slope to the beach. The views and combination of ocean and forest is surreal but you have to stop and take it all in to experience it.
Great walk,nice and private
Beautiful colors
Beautiful walk. Lots of things to stop and look at. Love the wildlife.
Awesome trails and great service
Great walk through the woods and down to the harbour! Amazing views of nature.
Amazing park overall (5 stars) but the 1 star is for the atrocious mapping system on the other side of the park. I went for a run and not only did I get lost but I had 4 instances of others being lost. Not cool! The maps are disorienting and not positioned well. Reminds me of the maps at Pacific Spirit Park in Vancouver. Maybe the same person did both of these parks. Otherwise a great park for running and casual biking.
Nice easy cool walk
Beautiful spot. Lovely trails. Moss carpeted woods, rocky coastline, thick ferny undergrowth. Lots of banana slugs.
scene and quiet campground very well maintained and picturerequesc
Nice walk. Very scenic. Enjoyed it.
The best RV park in town. So clean, enough space between each other. Friendly people, with a full equiped kitchen/Bbq and great vibe.
Beautiful park.
Great walking trails to take the dogs to
Awesome trails for a casual hike! Make sure you go down to the beach.
Very beautiful walk through the park.
Great views.. Nice beach to walk.
It's a 1 km hike through a beautiful forest to reach this beach. Apparently, young seal pups will warm themselves on the stones of this beach, though we didn't see any on our visit. We saw a few herons though and enjoyed the quiet ocean view. Worth a visit if you're in Courtenay!
Amazing trails on the oceanside. Well maintained easy walking. And access to the beach.
Loved it
(Translated) The Deal Loop trail takes us to the rainforest with a stop at the water's edge. (Original) La trail the Deal Loop nous fait découvrir la forêt humide avec aussi un arrêt au bord de l'eau.
Easy trail, beautiful views
So pretty and well kept trails as well as little paths. Leash required trails as well as off lead except during spring fawn season. Bears often reported roaming through.
awesome walking trails! Beautiful view of the ocean
Gorgeous place. Make sure to catch the fish feeding twice a day.... Quite a spectacle.
We had a wonderful time cycling the trails. Our thanks to whomever keeps the trails in such good shape.
Well maintained campground and very clean facilities. Not very much for kids to do at the campground, but there are beaches close by.
Best hike and place to go to see seals. Was so beautiful
Lots of trails. Great for dogs on and off leash. Beautiful park.
Beautiful place
Need pure oxygen? Just visit this place. Even if the car park is full you hardly come across people much when you walk through the place.
Great place for almost everyone to enjoy...sorry no wheelchair trails...but multi use trails for horse riding including steps for the rider to get off and go to the outhouse...the horses just dirty the trail...multi use trails include horses, bicycles, pedestrians and dog walkers...there are doggie bags for the dogs but nothing for the horses so watch where you step...then there are pedestrian ONLY trails which seem to attract lost horses riders and lost bycycle riders...cell service is either spotty or non existent...this is a wonderful peaceful park...please respect each person's need for distancing. Signage is being repaired and is a bit confusing...there are trail maps with different colours for trails than the sign posts...but it's a great place and a wonderful 10k round trip walk should you want to circumnavigate the whole park...many entrances from ever side of the park.
Great place for easy hike.
Very pleasant walk. Not strenuous but there are elevations. If you zoom I'm on photos you'll see the family of seals. Pretty cool !!
Great walk in the woods, the wide paths makes it available to anyone
Good trails
Such a nice walk through the forest
Beautiful!
An enjoyable but fairly short work around the trails here. There's not many lookout points to enjoy what would be a spectacular view of the sea. Parking is limited too.
Beautiful trails and beaches.
A great place for a walk. Local nature at its best. All dogs must be leashed on the ocean side and on the swamp loop trails.
One of the prettiest and easily accessible trails in the Comox Valley
A Beautiful serene rainforest gem.
Very large Park with very good pathways. We walked around for about 45 minutes and were quite surprised with the lack of wildlife. Apart from the sound of a couple of birds it was deathly quiet. It was a really hot day so the coolness of the forest went down well.
This park is amazing! We're lucky to have it.
Nice paths, very serene.
Its so beautiful!!!
Great place for dogs and humans
Love going in here favor place
This is a beautiful place! I really recommend hiking the trail.
Great walk. Great park. Needs a sign on the highway and also on the entrance to the park
Always love to go for a walk in this beautiful park! Trails are great and it is always very quiet.
Awesome place, can see the seals in the water and on the rocks in the water from far away. They are cute and make noises. Wish we could get closer to them someday
Best rv/camp ground park in the Valley.
Well maintained. Trail surface us smooth and clean. Wide variety of trail for short or long treks. Good signage.
Deep gorgeous trails one of a kind! Some of Canada's best!
A great West Coast experience The trails are very well kept, and this is a large park. The only issue is a lack of signage and trail names / markers throughout .... So if you are considering taking the ' long ' perimeter trails for a walk or run, I'd recommend taking your phone with the Trailforks app installed ( and Seal Bay Park area downloaded to the app ) Plenty of parking and washrooms ( porta potty) near the main parking area
Love coming here with my dog to scour the beach for all kind of interesting things, never a dull moment. The seals are always yelling back and forth which is very interesting. Definitely check it out when you are in Comox!
Nice easy hike, through rainforest environment, to the beach. Seals are out on the rocks. Be careful of deep sands and slippery rocks. Dogs are welcome.
Great park, clean.
Beautiful quiet beach. The only "noise" that one can hear is seagulls and seals.
Amazing!
Absolutely breathtaking walking trails through our beautiful West Coast forest
Wonderful park to bike and walk through. Often see some wildlife
Beautiful place. Trails to the beach aren't long or hard.
Full hookups for your RV. Beautiful grounds, and friendly staff. Bathrooms and showers are very clean. They have an outdoor sink and spray nozzle to wash ur dishes, if u are tenting or don't have these things in ur motorhome or trailer. U can purchase firewood. They have a gorgeous little lake that they keep fully stocked for fly-fishing....... and the fish are jumping all the time :)
I went to this trail with my family and had a very good time! The walk is not long and tedious! It was very refreshing! My mom told me tis place looks different in different seasons and I'm looking forward to going back again. The only problem is that the public washroom isn't the best.
Loved it, open but private, definitely for social people who dont mind neighbors. Beautiful scenery and landscaping aswell as clean.
Big network of trails going through the park to explore, lots of parking options but the parking on Bates Rd is closed for construction so we used the parking on Hardy road. A great place for running or walking, not very muddy just nice well maintained paths.
Pleasant walk towards the beach
One of the best and most beautiful places to visit on the east coast of Vancouver Island BC.
Great Place for a hike
Always a nice walk. Evidence of trail care is present. Relaxing
Beautiful place, with a minor hike to see the beach and a few seals.
Beautiful! Well marked, well maintained trails in gorgeous island rainforest. There are a variety of loops of different lengths and levels of difficulty.
Beautiful and easy hike, both through the forest and along the ocean! I'm not sure how you make the loop fully though if the tide is in?
Beautiful. A stroll, could easily be done by young families. Wide trail stroller accessible.
Well groomed, and maintained trails..easily accessible and beautiful ????
Great trail.
Always enjoy walking the trails and the beach.
Lots of trails to choose from.
Very scenic and beautiful, only downside of course was humans wrecking the experience due to needles on the ocean front.
Lovely wooded trails. Don't get lost!
Favorite place for a walk
Wonderful park for mtbiking, walking, running. Dogs (in leash) allowed, access to beach, a couple few kilometers of trails very well maintained, all year long.
Nice scenery, long hike down to the water, unfortunately didn't see any seals
Love walking here!
We went at around 10am on a monday morning in September, really calm, and peaceful. The access to the water wasn't as steep as noted, being as we saw a 2 year up walking up it on our way down. Very nice spot.
Beautiful, rocky beach, saw one seal. Built a log hut.
A super area to hike. Not too far from Comox. We definitely go back again.
Nature park. Well groomed trails.
Great park to walk my dog at . lots of nice trails
Just a serene place to lose yourself from the hustle and bustle
I seriously love this park. Every time I step into the woods here, I breathe a big sigh of contentment. There are leash-optional trails for you to take your pups, but they can be a little muddy so make sure you're wearing appropriate footwear. Lots of different options for different fitness levels too.
Not for kids. A great place to relax and enjoy nature. Close to beach via a good walk.
Amazing walk down to the beach, very lush, green and that water sound flowing down to the bay - breathtaking
Great Place! Love the combination for the beach, going through lush rain forest, into a Marsh and forest - lots of variety on great maintained trails!
A great place for mini walks! I took a walk here with my husband and we quite enjoyed the scenery! It's very peaceful and felt very comfortable walking here! It's a great place for walking your dog! There is a washroom at the beginning of the trial (not the cleanest, though). So if you want to enjoy a brisk walk, this is a place you can check out!
Beautiful trails, very relaxing. Highly recommended.
This place was awesome, so many trails to get to the water. Very pretty
Gorgeous hikes in this area. Wear appropriate shoes!
Short walk, great views, well maintained trails.
This park is a gem. Extensive well groomed trails for walkers on the ocean side, and walkers, bikers and horses on the other. There is a very spacious new parking area off Hardy Road. We come here at least once a week and it is truly beautiful. The extensive ferns makes it feel like you are in Jurassic Park. The only thing missing is a herd of tiny Compy's running out of the undergrowth!
Beautiful campground. Facilities are too drawer, rv sites are big and fairly private. Plus they have a huge state of the art bbq and smoker you can use + massive commerical gas stove. Minutes from a beautiful nature park and the ocean.
A fantastic little hike down to the beach. There is more park across the street that I didn't check out but will certainly come back again in the future to explore this park again.
enjoy the forest trails
Rainy...
So beautiful. The views, the wildlife, the ocean ecosystems are all stunning.
Much larger than it seems, with kms of trails.
One of the nicest places close by that one can go for a run on the trails, or just a casual hike. It runs both sides of the road and covers quite a big area.
loved it
One of the best hiking spots around. Tons of trails, and the walk down to the water is very pretty.
Great place to walk, run and, bike well maintained for public lot of deer are wondering in the woods and it is a beautiful sight
Good for dog walks and biking.
Great walking trails through the forest and down to the Ocean
Beautiful park with lovely loop trails and a gorgeous beach
An easy hike except at the end which is a steep descent on stairs.
Well marked trails
Beautiful hiking trails, amazing forest and beach to explore!
A nice place
Gorgeous location with multiple trails. Must see
Very good trail to beach but there is bears appearing occassionally. You need to be prepared with bear spray and or gather a small group to start the trails. Beach is beautiful but there are so many rocks... be careful..
Stunning, serene, breathtaking...I could go on and on but you should see for yourself.
Awesome Park both Beachfront and in the Forest. Lots of Trails to walk, cycle. Lots of viewing on the beach - low tide shows off the Seals in the Bay and the eagles are back!
Amazing! Great hike!
A beautiful park !
It's another world, amazing views and wonderful trails
Delightful, beautiful trails & lagoon.
Another great gravel biking spot
Lovely flat trail to run and walk on. Great for small kids.
Nice trails
Very nice !
Nice park but it needs some dry camp sites solor is the future and a lot of TV already have solor and don't need hookups and don't want them. Many camp grounds in the US have added dry sites.
Not enough seals. No wolves.
Great dog walk. Top part is off leash
Hidden West Coast gem! Beautiful trails down to beach, up by swamp among old growth. And free!!
Our favourite adventure! A beautiful well kept trail and amazing views! Unfortunately we didn’t see a deal we still enjoyed the adventure!
Lots of great walking and hiking trails.
Grab a map cause you might need it. Only thing... The map is marked with the entrance and exits but the trails are not. The trails are pretty we marked tho, just make yourself aware of surrounding roads. We recommend the 10k bike loop for families that aren't looking for something too hard core!
Name makes total sense once you visit, go check it out! Won't regret it! Gorgeous views.
There were many trees. Well done.
Very nice walk, the incline down to the beach is quite steep. However you are rewarded with a beautiful spot to sit and relax afterwards.
Please weed eat happy face. Thank you
Very beautiful view of beach and trail.
Awesome walking trail, friendly people the whole way around, nice scenic beach
(Translated) Beautiful. (Original) Wunderschön.
Great park, nice and well maintained trails. On and off leash areas to walk your dogs.
lovely place clean very helpful owners
Talk about going back to nature. This park has it and more. Even people with mobility issues can get around on some of the trails.
Beautiful trails
Great place for a day hike see seals and sea lions, to take the dog for a walk or ride your bike ☺
Great Place/ lots of wildlife
Beautiful park. Must see
Trails for any fitness level. Heavily wooded good shelter from sun or rain. Peaceful & well maintained.
Great mtb circuit, had fun ripping around here with our son. Wayfinding was a little challenging, otherwise great place!
Our favourite place to walk, especially when its hot out.
Lovely place to walk in the woods and by the ocean
Nice park. Horses and bikes allowed.
Beeeeautiful!!
Our first time there. We really enjoyed it, so did our dog Molly
Clean, well maintained, friendly service. Showers take loonies and are 1.00/4mins. The bathrooms are all super clean, I didnt see a change machine in there so that would be nice for after hours shower needs. Wifi was decent for streaming. Good experience
Stunning!!!
A beautiful walk
Very nice trail system. Lots of wild life. Fresh air
Beautiful, well-maintained trails down to the waiter, and a very large network of trails reaching almost to the highway.
Clean and nice.
A great place to either view and explore the seashore or cross the highway and head into an old growth forest and marsh/pond walk.
Tons of paths to choose from! Peaceful park with tons of seals in the water!
A good place for a nice hike
Gorgeous walk to picturesque ocean beach!
Ok place to take a gentle stroll or run 10 K. Trails are gravel paths, non-technical. Nature walks with limited views
Lots of well maintained trails with three good access points to the shoreline.
Easy to get lost but mostly easy walking trails; just watch your footing. Other dog walkers & cyclists encountered so be aware of your surroundings.
Beautiful quiet beach. Great for watching nature like seals and herons. Plus the walk through the woods was serene.
Did not see seals but beautiful nonetheless.
Really loved the walk here, nice trails.
Always feels like a mystical and magical place.
Wide and well maintained paths. Lots of paths and loops through tall trees with ravens echoing through the woods Other than the ravens, not a lot of birds if you're a birder, though. A wonderful place to decompress in these stressful times.
Awesome trails on either side of Bates Road. The parking lot side leads down to the ocean, fairly steep in places - but it's a short walk - maybe slightly over a half hour in total, if you are going at leisurely pace. The beach itself is rocky, uneven surfaces - difficult walking. Suggest you grab a trail map. The maps are available in a wooden box at/near the parking lot or just beyond the main gate entrance on the opposite side. The far side of the road offers numerous trails (some better groomed then others), plus there is off leash area's for your dog's. A lovely little swamp is within a fifteen minute walk one way from the Bates parking lot - it's a good place to view birds, listen to frogs, possibly catch a glimpse of a beaver, maybe meditate. Seal Bay RV Park is not within Seal Bay Nature Park itself - but is close in proximity & has access to a entrance that is within easy walking distance. Note; you may encounter horses, runner's & mountain bikes - please be courteous to fellow travelers - thank you. Also, dog's are NOT allowed OFF LEASH ANYWHERE in park during the month's April, May & June.
Great dog friendly park!
Great walking trails....try the lake loop
Nice park. Trails well maintained. Interesting vegetation.
Beautiful campground, modern clean bathrooms and the staff very friendly and courteous
Trail too wide with too much stinking gravel
Great adventures await everyone who comes. Beautiful forested trails. Rugged beach with lots of marine life to find.
I go here all the time for any reason. I go with my horse for a nice trail ride, my bike for a very enjoyable and easy going bike ride. I take my kid here to explore and sometimes I just come to have some me time and take in the nature! There is never a bad time to come here, honestly.
Pure serenity
We stayed for a month we liked it so much. Good services and nice out building.
Amazing trails and views. Currently construction to expand the parking lot. Great spot for walk with kids and/or dogs.
Great view, trail and many benches
Always the best. Love seal bay!
I went the wrong way and fell into a large hole.
Wifi is terrible
Very peaceful
Lots of beautiful trails, lots are ungroomed so be prepared for some deeper mud and water
Perfect place to chill
Perfect place for a peaceful walk! This park is beautiful.
Beautiful trails and scenery. Opens up right onto the beach at the end with great signage to guide you throughout.
It was a beautiful sunny day, not much wind the paths were clear and the rocky beach was fun to walk
Well maintained and easy walks
Great walk/hike. Well kept trails.
Great Forest. Great running..Mind your stets (roots).
(Translated) Excellent even if it is raining !!!!! I loved the combination of beach and forest (Original) Excelente aunque esté lloviendo !!!!! Me encantó la combinación de playa y bosque
Well maintained trails throught the cool old cedars takes out onto the beach! Across the road features biking trails that are a smokin blast in January (if you like getting covered in 1/2 an inch of mud)????
Vancouver Island beautiful lots of easy Forrest hiking trails
Easy to walk trails with a lot of different options. The maps are also places conveniently throughout incase you need some directional help.
Beautiful park but the trail maps are so confusing and just wrong. Some trails were not even where they were reported to be. Time for an upgraded map system.Got lost and took over two hours to find the way back to our vehicle.
Beautiful walking trails
Great network of trails
Amazing hiking, well laid out trails and seals and scenery add to a great afternoon
Sweet, quiet, beautiful park a few miles from Courtenay and Comox. Small pond and great hiking in Seal Bay Nature Park.
Love walking in the trails here
Nice view of the beach, but the bike trails leave a lot to be desired. Definitely not for road bikes.
Rugged vast peaceful.
Great place to walk. Would be 5 star if Walkers kept their dogs leashed.
Very nice location and beautiful sculptures.
Really nice park, well maintained. Did not see any seals.
Nice weather and great friends
Assume
Dope trails and sick water
Nice area
Lots of easy trails, whether you're on foot or bike. Leash optional for dogs during non fawning season. A favourite.
Some of the best trails around!
Beautiful place
Beautiful place!
Great place to go for a walk!
Good for walking and melow biking... The side of the road that the parking lot is on those trails lead to the beach, and if you cross the road from the parking lot those trails are forest trails. If its wet out that side will have mud forsure. But the beach side has some nice gravel groomed trails that are nice.
Amazing !
Quiet
Beautiful hiking trail
Wonderful trails
Nice trails, get oriented before heading into the forest as it is easy to get lost in the tangle of trails
Great place to walk, run or bike - beautiful spot!
(Translated) I did not like just the fact that my sister was eaten by a bear, and so everything is fine (Original) Не понравилось только то что мою сестру сожрал медведь, а так все хорошо
Great location and sites.
Scenic
Nice walking trails that access the beach.
If you like nature, l ou ts of wild fliwers and fauna and great trails this is the place you want to go.
(Translated) Nice to hike and biking. Unfortunately not signposted in the forest (Original) Schön zum wandern und biken. Leider im Wald selbst zu wenig ausgeschildert
Great place for nature walks and taking your dog. Miles of trails.
World class a magical place to be!!
Great hike down to the ocean
Beautiful area andwonderful staff with excellent service! Definitely recommended.
it is amazing to have such a beautiful park here at our finger tips.......it has the ocean and the swamp and so many more amazing places to explore
Great trails for walking, hiking and best of all gravel bike riding
Beautiful easy walk for all ages
Wonderful time here
Nice ,local trail walking spot
Easy walking trails. Many kilometers that are diverse in flora, and well marked with "You are here" maps. However, parking at the Seal Bay side is/can be difficult to get into and/or out of. Hardy Road parking lot is way better.
Fantastic trail network. Beware wildlife (of course!), but such a therapeutic walk through the forest
Thanks for your hospitality!
Absolutely beautiful park. Wonderfully maintained, clean, and a great place to bring the whole family for a walk in the forest. Accessible all year long, and each season has its own surprises. If you are able to get down to the water and have small children there is a wonderful rope swing the kids will enjoy.
Wonderful trails and love walking on the beach. Even saw some seals!
Natural place! Sometimes i got scared, because i dont like the bears
One of my favourite places. The trails are awesome and fairly easy (which means less complaining from the kids). It's hard to put the beauty of this place in words. Just check it out and see for yourself.
You know, there's nothing overly unique or special to write about this park and trails that serpentine around the forest as it makes it's way to the Rocky shores, but it's amazing. It's hard to explain. Pristinely groomed, not too treacherous but always breathtaking. One of our favorite walks when we're visiting.
Beautiful walk. There was hardly anyone when I went. Very peaceful.
Love this little bit of paradise
Very clean and maintained
Love seal bay.my favorite
Very nice walk around and down the water also
Very cool place
Great place for a mini staycation
(Translated) A great nature park with short distances and many interesting views. The old tree trunks are great. On the coast there are sure to see seals. Often I eagles and herons. (Original) Ein toller Naturpark mit kurzen Wegen und vielen interessanten Aussichten. Die alten Baumstämme sind toll. An Küste gibt es sicher Seehunde zu sehen. Oft Ich Adler und Fischreiher.
not too bad
Beautiful
One of my favorite places to pick huckleberries
3km while round trip to the ocean go at low tide to find shells and star fish...
Nice wide, well-groomed trails and beach access.
A lovely spot for a walk
Very nice park and trails, well maintained. Great access.
Beautiful trails and a great place to hike
Comfortable, well maintained, one of the best on vanc is
Beautiful and a variety of types of trails from easy and flat to moderately challenging if you're a casual hiker. Lots of parking.
A very nice with nice walking trails and nice forest .
One side of highway is trails down to ocean, other side is trails out to and around marshland. Great for jogging or walking - reminder: leash your dog.
Nice peaceful walking trails that are not too strenuous. Share some trails with bikes and horses.
Lots of trails. Very pleasant to walk around.
Lovely hike down to Seal Bay.
perfectly groomed trails, tranquil escape just outside of town to succumb to the forest or ocean or creek and just let your worries drift away with the breeze. Good trail maps and markings
nice walks
Great place. Awesome folks
Lovely trail to the ocean front, a great place to watch for seals.
Nice walk
Great place to stay, friendly staff and a well maintained park.
Great trails that lead to water where you can see the seals
Beautiful place. Quite, scenic.
Clear paths through forest bring you to the brink of a high coastal ridge. Path continues with peekaboo views of coastal mountains, the straight and distant Powell River; then down to the water. Shore vegetation, rocks, birds and seals. Walk to the north and back up to high level forest walk.
Amazing place to bring the dog,and family, so many cool trails, and across Bates road there are even more trails, saw seals floating down in the water last time, I guess that's why they call it Seal Bay
