This Zoo is included in the category of Park.
This is a beautiful park. There was a zoo for the kids and peacocks that just roam around the park. The trees and flowers were beautiful and the the ponds full of fish. It was very relaxing and definitely worth stopping to walk around and take in the beautiful park.
Gardens are beautiful. The stretch is wonderful leading to the coastline. Off trails Paved pathways. Washrooms available. Simple playvround water park was busy when we went through. Love to come back and bike through at a later time.
Beautiful park .so many peacocks, they come near to us.very beautiful cherry blossom and slots more
This is a great park with lots of facets to enjoy. British Car Show on today with beautifully restored oldies and gleaming exotic English road cars. Cricket right next to that. Tennis and children's playground. Putting zoo and water park... Even traditional soft serve ice cream next to the park! Putting green (bring your own putters and golf balls for this free activity ????
I enjoyed my winter walk there ????
The park has something for everyone. Came here with a 4 year old and spent hours. There are 2 different playgrounds that both have plenty to do for a wide range of ages and abilities. Peacocks, ducks and geese are plentiful around all the ponds. Our child loved seeing all the birds. Also a great network of trails and paths for walking the dog.
They have beautiful places with flowers and lakes, but quite big part of park is lacking good care. The grass is dry and not cut. Good place to go with kids, because they gave mini zoo with area where you can pet animals. Peacocks goes around the park. If you are lucky you will see how they open their tails. Nice place to go at day, but at night I would avoid, because I saw homeless sleeping in tents.
Beautiful park. You can spot peacocks a lot here.Good place to have good walk Beautiful view around the park
This is a must visit if you are in Victoria. The park is specious right up to the water. I try to get here daily.
Beautiful park for an evening stroll with the family. We Loved the fountain and the wildlife, especially the peacocks. Washrooms could have used some maintenance. But the experience was still enjoyable
So many animals hanging around and beautiful gardens!
Beautiful!
Beautiful spot with lovely gardens! And best of all, FREE! ????????????????
Beautiful area, almost got lost it was much larger than expected! A great place to walk after lunch
Amazing local spot, with gorgeous flowers, plants, assortments of trees, and wildlife. They have duck ponds, a petting zoo and even peacocks roaming free. Have a picnic, a photo op, or just take a stroll. This place is just wonderful, and entirely free to the public.
Very beautiful place. Full of beautiful plants and animals.
Great place to take the kids. Walking is great, park is great. Petting zoo (open seasonally) is fun for younger kids. If you play Pokemon Go there's 3-4 gyms and 15+ stops within easy walking distance.
A beautiful park atop the hill. Lots of well maintained short trails. The petting zoo is a nice treat for the little ones and with lots of peacocks in the area. Overall a great spot to include in your Victoria itinerary to take a break during your trip.
Golf, peacocks, petting zoo, cricket, space to play what ever lawn games you want. This place has everything.
We love Beacon Hill. Every time we visit Victoria, it's a must do! On our last trip, the Peacocks were "courting". :-) The grounds are beautifully landscaped. The beach side of the park has an off leash dog walk. Yep! It's awesome.
Didn't feel comfortable to walk about and follow the peacocks or walk around the gardens. Roads mostly blocked off. Did enjoy the view from the top of the hill.
This is a lovely, ample park with beautiful gardens, a petting zoo and lots of green spaces. There are bathroom facilities near the central playground and main ponds/Rose garden. It is a lovely way to spend the afternoon. The water park is a bit tricky for the younger children, though, as it is hard to predict where the water will fall.
One of the most beautiful parks I've been to. Very well maintained and lots of wildlife to see. The main pond has turtles, there are peacocks everywhere, and herons nest in the trees in the spring!
Lovely park! Well curated. Lots of flowers! A petting zoo for the kids.
This is one of the most beautiful and peaceful parks I have ever experienced. It was once a zoo and converted to an illustrious walking park with many different vistas and ambiences present. From bandstands to old bridges and even older trees, you can venture from the rocky terrain that reminds one of mountains, to a petting zoo in you're around for the right seasons, until you reach the famous beacon hill for which the park is named, and have a full view of ocean and the mountains across the way. It should be noted this land properly should recognised as occupied from the Lekwungen People (now known as Esquimalt Nation and Songhees Nation). My very first visit here I was personally escorted through the park by one of the many resident peacocks. 10/10! A must! Ooooh, and Mile Zero for the Trans-Canada freeway begins just down Dallas road along the seaside.
Beautiful!
Great park, lots if different places to go. Lots of animals to see and hear too.
Good park has peacovks and deer and trees and a beach and a totem pole and a bathroom and benches and a nice view and ducks
Great place for a walk, especially in spring and summer time. There are totem poles, a petting zoo, gardens, bridges, making for a fun experience.
Was a great visit to the playground with the zipline with my Grandchildren they had a blast
Canada was beautiful and clean. The park had nice trails and everything was in bloom
Wonderful walk, great park!
Quite possibly the best park I’ve ever been to, anywhere in Canada. Amazing playgrounds, a petting zoo, lots of scenic little pockets, and stunning gardens!
Beautiful park with tons of interesting plants and wildlife.
Beacon Hill Park is a family friendly walking distance from downtown Victoria park that offers park benches, grass for picnic, mini zoo for little kids, and some spectacular views of the ocean. A must to see in Victoria
Great for a nice stroll or a first date. Whatever type of event your afternoon entails take some time to enjoy this beautiful part of the city
Amazing place to stretch and unwind or to get exercise either by walking, jogging or riding bikes. Even taking pictures will give you some good exercise moving around to the different viewpoints the park has to offer. Enjoy the park 365 days a year, summertime is packed with locals and tourists alike. You can't just come here only once, you'll be drawn back over and over. Highly recommended ????
Always a fantastic place to walk through. Lovely flowers and scenery. Plus you can feed the geese/ducks, but watch out for all the poop!
Such a beautiful parc and well maintained.
Just an absolutely gorgeous park with lots of winged friends to pass the time with!
A beautiful park that showcases the best the Garden City has to offer! Manicured gardens, redwood groves, a children's petting zoo and the largest totem pole on the world are all here! Enjoyed by tourists and locals alike, this is a must-see when in Victoria!
Excellent care of my small dog. They always try and fit you in when your animal is very ill.
Fantastic location to enjoy the ocean views
Very large park of around 75acres. Some formal attended gardens and the rest almost rural.
Beautiful and fun. The flowers were blooming, so we walked the trails and went to the petting zoo. So many adorable baby goats. Had to watch out for hair, bags, shoes, shirts, and everything else they might think was tasty. Lots of peacocks hanging out making a racket. Worth the visit.
Beacon Hill Park is a great place to visit, and it's all completely free. From the petting zoo, free roaming peacocks, bandstands, sports fields, worlds tallest free-standing totem pole, ocean walks, and more. It's at it's best on a sunny, summer day, but good anytime. Washrooms available. No food stands allowed in park but plenty right at the edges. Check it out.
It’s a park! It’s got peacocks! It’s close to town. There is a petting zoo!! There used to be a really tall slide and dangerous fireman’s pole, but not anymore. Four stars out of five.
It was nice and pretty. You can set up a a picnic and eat there. There's a playground for the kids and wildlife is plenty. The kids had fun even if the animal feeding area was closed t that time we went.
One of my favorite parks. So many beautiful flowers, and the animals roaming around. It's a really peaceful place to enjoy your time at.
One of my favorite parks. So many beautiful flowers, and the animals roaming around. It's a really peaceful place to enjoy your time at.
A nice peaceful stroll through the park, away from the hustle and bustle of downtown area. A breath of fresh air.
What a beautiful place! Something for everyone who calls Victoria home to be proud of.
Very nice park with Peacocks, ducks and big trees.
I love BHP. Especially over the summer. They have a petting zoo that my young one loves.
Great park in the heart of the city. Difficult to find the entrance ( for those of us tourist) especially with all the detours and one way street leading to the heart of the park. The area across the petting zoo is full of ducks droppings. It's impossible not to step on one if you dare to take your little ones in that area.
Staff are excellent. Grounds are beautiful and well maintained.
A must-visit park in downtown Victoria. Beautiful oriental lake garden with tall trees used by nesting Herons. A paradise for ducks, geese, peacocks and squirrels. Watch out, the squirrels and ducks are almost tame and will sometimes come right up to you begging for food! This park also offers a great view of the ocean and access to the shoreline promenade.
Had fun watching and playing with the animals. Great for family time especially with younger kids. Enjoyed petting the goats, watching peacock, chasing ducks and so much more.
A beautiful park with great greenery. I am visiting this place for the second time and it doesn't cease to amaze me. The beautiful just to the south, the beautiful rock bridge and calm and serene atmosphere adds to its charm. Given a chamce I would definitely visit this place again.
Gorgeous! Kids were happy to feed the ducks. Greatly surprised to see peacocks roaming around the park freely.
Good sized park with plenty of space, lots of trees for shade and kids play area. Some good areas with flowing plants and a couple of ponds with wildlife as well.
Beautiful and peaceful park adjacent to downtown. A longtime favorite of local residents and tourists alike. The duck pond and waterways are especially effective and the petting zoo is very popular with the kids.
Beautiful look out spot for Sunrises and Sunsets.
This place is absolutely beautiful. I cannot wait to come back in spring/summer. There are tons of ducks and peacocks hear that are relatively tame and you can get pretty close to them. If you throw some seeds by the pond you can watch as about hundred ducks all swim over to you, it's incredible. Absolutely would recommend this place if you want to go for a walk or kill some time.
Gorgeous laid back city of Victoria! Stroll everywhere you can. Peaceful and calm. Enjoy it to the MAX
Gorgeous laid back city of Victoria! Stroll everywhere you can. Peaceful and calm. Enjoy it to the MAX
Go here! Go here! This park is huge and beautiful. Take a couple hours to wander around and find the sleeping lady, the herons, the tallest free standing totem pole in the world, and all the gorgeous flowers and plants. I cannot express how lovely this park is and how much I enjoyed it, it is so with a visit.
Take a walk through Beauty and Nature combined. Other than the Tent City inside the Park my time there was lovely..
Amazingly beautiful -- and huge -- park in the middle of a city. It has peacocks, ducks, squirrels and other wildlife wandering the grounds, a petting zoo for kids, lots of play sites, benches, varieties of trees and flowers, a stage, and the Moss Lady. Staff are around all the time and very helpful. Don't miss it.
Always a beautiful place to spend time
Interesting park to walk around. A pond with so many lily pads that you cannot see the water and there are no lilies on the pads.
We love this park. We visit every afternoon. The ducks are beautiful along with the wildlife. Great park for kids to play in, and in the summer has an awesome water park in two spots of the park. I hope that during this time people are aware of the homeless in the park, but not to be afraid based on the comments you see recently. We as a community in James Bay love the park still and are working towards fixing the issue.... we can only hope the pandemic won't leave many more homeless all across the world!
Beacon Hill Park has an abundance of natural features and sensitive ecology throughout roughly 740,000 square metres of parkland. A number of environmentally sensitive areas have been identified within the park and are protected through local, provincial and federal law to preserve these threatened and endangered species and ecosystems. In addition to the Garry oak ecosystem, an example of a threatened species is the Yellow Montane Violet, Viola praemorsa. Meandering footpaths offer long strolls among manicured and natural areas and features for the whole family to enjoy. Kite enthusiasts, paragliders and sailboarders can also take advantage of the open vista across the Strait of Juan De Fuca. Beacon Hill Park has an important status as Mile "0", the western terminus of the 8,000 kilometre Trans-Canada Highway.
Beautiful air space and so much to take in at once!
Always a beautiful place to spend time
Lovely park to walk in, there are lots of birds, geese, and ducks! Avoid feeding them as you might make them aggressive by doing so. I liked the the little petting zoo inside.
The goats are adorable, and the waterpark is super cool. Lol.
A great city park with lots of things to do and see.
Beautiful! Tons of activities going on
Very pretty and lots to see. Too bad the bums are taking over and impacting the wonderful experience. Did I forget vto mention the cool peacocks running around.
Not the best but better than nothing. Their small farm is cool for kids
This place is so beautiful but there are too many homeless camping in the park. I don't mean to kick them out, but we need better accommodations for the poor.
I feel so blessed to live in Victoria, BC where I get to see wildlife and domestic animals on the same day in the same beautiful park! Spent the afternoon making new memories through the eyes of my grandson and partner at the Children's Petting Zoo and open grassy area immediately behind the Zoo where this Buck, young deer and eventually mother? or sibling? was spending time in the sun together. Access to the Zoo is by donation, mask wearing is mandatory for anyone 12 and over with handwashing station and sanitizer all provided. I took every picture myself. The flowers were all surrounding the Sundial, quite close to the Children's Zoo. There is so much to see and do. Take a Nature break and head over to Beacon Hill Park so worth every second of time, you never know what may come running out of the scrub brush right towards you!
This is a gorgeous park complete with a rose garden, moss lady, herons/peacocks/ducks, the largest totem pole in the world, beautiful ponds and trees, flower gardens, a playground for kids, and lots of grass for sitting or picnics. The trails throughout are very pretty and there is a lot to see. You can definitely end up spending a long time in this park. It is very relaxing. A Victoria must-see.
It's a beautiful, must visit place in victoria during summer.
Amazing park with gorgeous gardens, ponds, children's zoo and more!
I loved this place .
What used to be one of the wonders of Victoria has been inundated with homeless, needles, crime and human waste. Where I'd used to bring my family, I'd never even think of bringing them now. Unfortunately you can't clean up dirty needles in this big of a park. Lisa Helps - here's another thing you've succeeded in ruining. Please leave office. Another wonderful place about to get bulldozed and replaced with bike lanes.
Beautiful place for a sunset, relax with your friend or go for a little run!! Love it!
A great destination for locals and visitors alike. Here you can enjoy a peaceful stroll around the duck pond and through the gardens that are always full of beautiful flowers and wildlife. This park is also a great place to spot herons.
This is a great park to visit for multiple reasons: solitary view south across the straits, kids petting farm, horse drawn carriage transits, feeding ducks in the ponds, lawn bowling and cricket, or jogging the easy-on-the-knees Cooks Street bark-mulched pathway. It feels like a small version of Stanley Park, and commend city leaders who planned this “civic infrastructure” so many years ago.
Beautiful park. Very well maintained. Enjoy a relaxing stroll and hopefully you can run into a peacock as well!
Was a very good walk and I most enjoyed seeing all the ducks, swans and peacock's
without a doubt the most beautiful park I've walked through. all kinds of wildlife and trees and flowers everywhere.
The park itself is gorgeous. Peacocks roam around the park as do deer, ducks and other animals. The gardens are well maintained. However, there are alot of people on the weekends, so it's better during the week if you want to avoid crowds. The washrooms could be kept up better. The women's washrooms only had a maximum of two stalls which is not sufficient for the large groups of people that frequent the park.
Enjoy the walk around beacon that joins on the waterway bring h for a walk he will never how far he walks. ????????
Breathtakingly beautiful! Friendly peacocks and curious squirrels will delight. I'm sure we only found a few of the hidden treasures at this park.
So relaxing and peaceful. Love all the critters that live there. Great place to study animal behaviour, lol.
So peaceful and Beautiful. Alot to see from turtle's on a log to peacocks in a tree.???? Take a stroll through the garden and Enjoy the flowers. There's a petting zoo as well..
Everytime I go it's a new experience. Winding trails, petting zoo, peacocks, free concerts, ponds, moss lady! I feel like they should make a scavenger hunt
A very welcome open space right by the ocean. The park has deer wandering around plus other wildlife. There is the world's tallest totem pole, the Terry Fox memorial, and the Mile 0 indicator.
Beautiful and full of lovely birds.
We just discovered this park. From the street you can't tell how big and beautiful it is. A very pleasant surprise. Ducks, pond, flowers, trails, a great place to spend time with nature.
This place is truly wonderful. It will mesmerise you with green lush nature, animals especially peacocks, you can feed them take pictures and they might show a dance. Play with baby goats and place you relax in nature.
Wonderful place to go. The lookout is the most beautiful place in the Park and we can see USA mountains.
Nice place
One of the most popular and beautiful place on the Island. I had so many visitors and all of them were amazed
Beautiful park!
An absolutely spectacular park that is filled with a wide variety of plants and wildlife. There is something new to see at every turn as you walk through, and at the centre is a children's farm filled with animals that you can see up close and a petting zoo with pygmy goats. A truly must see stop if you're visiting Victoria and a staple for any resident!
Great place for a picnic. The petting zoo was so much fun! The kids loved it and then the park across the way was a great way to finish off Beacon Hill park. Such a beautiful place.
Its a great place to walk, and enjoy the flowers, petting zoo & nature.
Beautiful park , great place for hiking, biking or picnic ...
"Perfect, in every way" ????
Great little park. Lots of ducks and the peacocks are a good time.
Come for the beauty of nature ❤️ come for the drugs ???????? stay for the experience ???? of convo ????mind the terrain ????????????????️????️ parks 4 life ????
A really beautiful park and highly recommend visiting this place. Great for walks, picnics, a run. It was the highlight of our trip, beautifully manicured lawns and gardens to the paths along a shoreline with awesome coastal views. We went in the morning and it was nice a quiet, not crowded at all, mostly locals enjoying a peaceful walk or a run. Dog friendly as well.
This is such a beautiful park with so much wildlife to see. We were lucky enough to catch a few peacock in their full glory.
Beacon Hill used to one of my favourite place for a walk but now I feel unsafe when I found a niddle with blood on it. So many homeless tent around the park and no security at all. Hopefully it gets better
Absolutely amazing! Just go, there is many benches to sit down and enjoy the view, everything looks so clean and very well maintained, regardless of winter is a most!
Simply gorgeous. Breathtaking views. A must see when visiting this area!!"
Very nice park! Clean and enough fun stuffs for my babies to have fun there especially zip lining
Fun place to relax and take a walk, we saw a peacock which was really nice!
I love just walking in it. The running of the goats is always fun. Peacocks, ducks, squirrels, CHARMANDERS
Visit all the time anytime. Such a great place for a walk, drive, or carriage ride. Visit the Children’s zoo, sit by the duck pond, visit with the free-roaming peacocks, take in a musical performance at the bandshell, look for blue herons, see turtles on a log (in season), play in the playground, or visit the rose garden. You will find this place full of people on Pokemon community days, too. Lots of free parking.
Beautiful park! One of my favorite places to visit on the Island. There are lots of different paths throughout the park and a variety of sceneries. Beautiful year-round and very kids friendly with animals, geese, ducks, etc.
Beauty park to walk around. Lots of paths to walk, squirrels, peacocks abound.
Beauty park to walk around. Lots of paths to walk, squirrels, peacocks abound.
BHP is so beautiful ! Its been restored back to itself(pre tenting). Thankyou to the leadership that makes this park everyone's favorite place.
Had a wonderful time with my family here. The peaceful park the amiazing animals and thr peacocks. Oh it was just awesome...
It's a very nice place to visit but right now there's a lot of campers in the park a lot of Street people in the park it's not a nice place for kids I was a parent I would never send them let them play in that park again they clean
Fabulous beautiful park. Great for families, so many animal's to see.
I played tennis this morning with a group of guys and it was great fun. I have played at half a dozen public courts in recent weeks and I am grateful for them all. These places make an invaluable contribution to the physical and social health of our communities.
Nice Walking park ...
Beautiful park, so peaceful!
Not a bad place to get out for a walk. View is beautiful too.
Gorgeous park! You can spend hours and get lost in it. Those are pics of few years ago when I was there. Lovely memories
Was great to feed the animals and sight a beautiful ???? peacocks
We live near Beacon Hill park and have enjoyed it for a while now. We were a bit upset walking through the park over the past year for obvious reasons but I wanted to make a note that the park is back to what it was originally - a very nice place to visit! It is cleaned up and getting its character back.
Great park near downtown Victoria. Free parking up to 3.5 hours if you visit the park. You can view the largest totem pole or stroll along the beach. Public washrooms available at multiple locations.
Beautiful landscaping and flora... meticulously maintained!
Gardens are beautiful. The stretch is wonderful leading to the coastline. Off trails Paved pathways. Washrooms available. Simple playvround water park was busy when we went through. Love to come back and bike through at a later time.
Very well maintained.
Had the pleasure of visiting this park today and I must say, I regret not checking it out sooner! Walking through the park is incredibly pleasant. From the scenery, to the flowers and the multiple peacocks roaming the grounds, there’s tons to see here. It’s also a great place for a picnic! We also went down to the waterfront area just down a flight of stairs and it was so beautiful.
Wonderful Park for a nice walk with amazing wildlife, trees and flowering plants.
Well maintained park. Open areas and walk ways with beautiful gardens
What a beautiful park! There are several little ponds with fountains. Lots of ducks, some Cranes and even peacocks casually strolling around. The property is maintained very well. For a few place to spend time in nature this place is fantastic. Lots of paved paths to walk along, bike lanes and some washrooms. We were lucky enough to see some wild deer up close too.
Very cute walk. I love the peacocks we met there!!
Very cute walk. I love the peacocks we met there!!
Possibly the prettiest property within Victoria. Many memories are made here, I can recall coming here with my family as a young kid and watching all of the ducks in the pond. The sheer size of Beacon Hill always surprises me, and it's beauty can be enjoyed any time of day.
A lovely park, farm and garden. There are peacocks all around the grounds. The farm is by donation and has about 4 to 7 stations of animals. Great for a toodler as enough to keep them happy and not over stimulating.I can't believe how much there is to see in Beacon Hill Park. We could have spent all day here! Birds, Trees, flowers, bridges, small rock mountain, and access to the rock shore of the Pacific Ocean. A definite must see! This is a gorgeous park with ALL the amenities- there is truly something for everyone. What a fantastic recreational offering so close to downtown! As of July 5 2021 the park is a very pleasant place to visit. Most of the homeless have been moved out so you don't have to walk around bike chop shops and tents. You'll find some campers coming in after 3 pm when park staff leave. Also there are campers around the Mile Zero road of the park.
Petting zoo is great fun - especially the goats! beautiful start to a day in Victoria!
It's a fantastic spot to enjoy a walk with your dog. The off leash portion stretches a long way with several spits to stop and play ball, socialize with other dogs, or just enjoy the view. Our puppy loved it and so did we!
If you can ignore the few tents, it is actually one the most sprawling, beautiful Urban parks in Victoria. Similar to High park in Toronto minus the tents.
Beautiful park at a walking distance from the downtown. Nature in all its glory- ducks quacking around in the ponds, few sea gulls hanging out, squirrels hopping up and down the trees, goats, colorful peacocks and a beautiful view of the ocean and the mountains. Highly recommend this place!
Great park! Good fun for the whole family, arguably the petring zoo is the best part!
I live 1/2 a block away from the park, it's nice for a walk with my dog. The landscaping should be done more often - lawn mowing thru the summer was definitely lacking .that sucked but the duck ponds are nice, especially if your lucky enough to see the TURTLES TOO
beautiful outlay of flowers, gardens and trees...nice to observe there are no commercial venues allowed in park
The park is always beautiful and peaceful, no matter the time of year.
It's a very beautiful, large park great for strolling around and enjoying a walk.
Beautiful place to walk.awesome flowers and trees.Nice to picnic
Celebrated Twentieth Wedding Anniversary with a new set of vows. Beautiful location (Baby getting first portrait nearby)
Nice park. Just a few minutes away from the city centre with a great view on the ocean and the Olympic NP.
Beacon is really existed in Beacon Park. Few black-tail dear is also in the park. Truly amazing!
If I had to describe how I think it's paradise I would certainly think of beacon hill park. Lots of ducklings everywhere, green grass, flowering trees, lakes with fountains, and beautiful and pompous peacocks displaying their beauties, .... view of the sea .... paradise, right ?!
It was nice and peaceful, even though it had several tent's in it for us less fortunates,as well as many homes on wheels, me and my hubby set up shop in our RV for a few weeks.very relaxing and quiet!
Great park at any season
Beautiful park that leads to the ocean. Lots of room to have a picnic or a quiet read on a bench. Beautiful spots for wedding photos or just nice back drops. Public washrooms and drinking fountains are found on premise, legal spots to camp close to the ocean.
Absolutely the best park downtown Victoria. Great trails, very nice, spacious landscapes. Wonderful water features/ ponds and lots of trees! You may see wild rare birds such as peacocks and eagles. The petting Zoo (animal zoo) is also very cool! They have baby goats ???? definitely go to beacon-hill park.
There are friendly wild animals in the area. It's nice to walk around.
Beautiful place.a must visit for picnics or family outings
Peacocks are busy strutting their stuff this week.
There is a tree that many people use for photos. It's a grand old beauty but the gardens and petting zoo along with summertime bands add to a great family day and pick nic. A must on the visitors list!
Beacon hill is a great place with many areas to explore. From the turtle pond, moss lady, petting zoo, there’s something for everyone. Quick walk to Dallas road and the ocean. Don’t forget to stop by BEACON HILL DRIVE IN for an ice cream ????????
It's beautiful and full of amazing plant life, there isn't too much ground to run about but it has large enough patches for small groups! Peacocks roam wild!
My concert band and I just did a concert here and while the park was absolutely beautiful, whoever was in charge of removing the gate from the band dome didn't do their job. we had to perform standing on the grass in front of the benches which sucked, as I'm a French horn player. but yeah, other than that, the park itself was beautiful and there were giant herons nesting in the canopy all around us which was neat
Walked the park and visited the petting zoo. On a sunny day and with a stroller, it was worth the walk from Fisherman's Warf (down Michigan Ave). Reminds me of an Olmstead park, with its winding paths, water features, manicured flowers and more. Very pretty even in October. Sure, there are a few harmless druggies near the public bathroom, but it's expected in any coastal city of this size.
Natural beauty in a naturally beautiful city!
Beacon Hill Park is beautiful. It has formal planting and large areas of meadow and woodland to explore. Climb the hill to the flagpole for an amazing view of Washington across the strait. Kids are well catered for with play areas and a petting zoo.
Stunning park with beautiful sights around every corner. If arriving by cruise ship, it is about a 30 minute walk that takes you along the coast and gorgeous houses that line it. You will hear all kinds of bird calls (which may depend on season), encounter loads of ducks, see various art installations, and so much more. I wish I had more time to stay and explore as there were so many gems I found in my short hour walk through. I can only be left wondering what I may have seen had I more time. Respect the wildlife so future visitors can enjoy its beauty.
A very spacious and peaceful park. Definitely amazing to be up close in person to see these lovely peacocks!????
A very spacious and peaceful park. Definitely amazing to be up close in person to see these lovely peacocks!????
Very pretty view from the top, especially seeing sunset.
You can see everything that you don't think it can be there
Nice walk along the water. Some of the spots are good to just stay (read a book, eat lunch etc)for a while.
We brought the kids here to see all the beautiful flowers and trees and ponds.. as well as we took them to the little petting zoo! It was a beautiful experience and we made some wonderful memories.. I can't wait to go back next time we're on the island! ????❤️
be careful after dark, but it's gorgeous
Always beautiful and always a nice walk thru the park.
A beautiful place for the whole family. Parks, fountains, and a petting zoo.
This is an incredibly beautiful park. It's an array of colorful nature and animals. Right now there are quite a few people living on the grounds. I am sure most of the time it is safe but I do have to mention that when it got dark there was yelling arguments taking place which I did feel uneasy with. It just seemed a bit unpredictable - but so is life. So don't miss out on this gem during the day time hours :)
This place is always amazing to walk around. Great paths, beautiful gardens, play areas and petting zoos for kids, and peacocks!!
Beautiful. There are many wonderful chances for beautiful photos. This is the first park that I've visited since arriving on this welcoming Vancouver Island.
Took my children and the dog to the park and walked through it was beautiful
Beautiful and peaceful place!
Wonderful place and you can find peacocks here.
Loved walking along the paths, seeing the views, feeling the breeze, and enjoying the vibe of the area.
Great time to be had!
Lots of birds
Beautifully landscaped with a variety of sights and activities, including the world's largest free standing totem pole, heron nests and a giant fountain.
Thoroughly enjoyed walking through this park almost everyday of our trip. There is so much diversity in landscape throughout the park you feel like you’re rediscovering it on every visit.
This is a beautiful park by any measure, but the goat petting zoo really took it to another level. The baby peafowl were a treat too! A local birder also pointed out some barred owl in one of trees.
Chose this instead of Butchart if you are short on time. Magical place to explore. Make sure you hike (or drive) to the top for unmatched views of the Olympic Peninsula.
This park is truly amazing! I went there for the "lady moss" installation, which is very poetic. I discovered an incredible flora and fauna. Lovely black squirrels, peacocks, goose... Landscape is very impressive with lots of différents areas Warmly recommend for family or solo tours!
The park is full of so many surprises, from band stands to Herron rookeries. Gardens and children's playground are awesome. Watch some cricket on one side or soccer on the all weather field.
First time visiting and I loved it. It's beautiful and full of life. And the petting zoo was a blast. The goats are very friendly. I would not recommend using the wash rooms because it's the grosses bathroom I've ever used but the rest of the park makes up for it.
Absolutely beautiful park! It is often used for letting dogs get some exercise or kids roam for a minute in a nice area. Lovely place to get a breath of fresh air and a good walk. If you're nearby definitely go for a good visit!
Wonderful place to walk and admire the gorgeous landscape. Ducks, geese, peacocks, squirrels, even hawks! Lovely petting zoo and lots of picnic tables and benches. 3.5 hour free parking!
Very beautiful park and a great place to spend time with family and friends.
Cold ocean swims good are great for u
This is a great spot to go for a stroll right in the heart of Victoria. Whether you’re a local or just visiting beautiful Victoria you need to take the time to go and check out this park. Have some fun and try and find the moss lady. Many have not found her can you?? So much to see at different times of the year from Cherry blossoms to turtles and peacocks you will see some many different and beautiful things in the park.
Very nice park..many trees and flowers. Good for party, relaxing and small event.
Clean and pleasant place to spend the day
Nice Lighthouse with a minimal hike to it.
I enjoy this park mostly to simply feel like Snow White haha! Hand feeding the birds and critters, leaves me feeling with so much gratitude
Must see when visiting Victoria. There are beautiful gardens, ponds, art displays, and many birds. Parking is pretty plentiful and its a free public park. Its also located near the ocean, downtown, and hosts the mile zero marker for the transcanada highway.
Beacon Hill Park is extremely beautiful and is an excellent place for a walk or to take some awesome photos. It's also a great stop if you play Pokémon Go, as there are many poke stops and lures are often plenty..
Gorgeous park. Lots to do and see, and many places to walk around or sit and relax. The petting zoo was also a lot of fun - who knew peacocks sat high in the trees! Everything was free which was also a plus. There was also free parking and most of the area was dog friendly. We will be returning!
Very large and beautiful park that extends to the coast. Many ponds and great picnic spots. There's a great petting zoo as well with goats, bunnies, peacocks, and more.
Beacon Hill Park is one of the most beautiful parks in British Columbia.
Amazing park! I'd love to see it everyday
Usually a beautiful place to visit but not so much with the ⛺ going on due to people littering the area and leaving hazardous waste behind. Once a wonderful place to bring people of all ages, now I would avoiding about two-thirds of the perimeter.
Beautiful views and great walking areas, only wish there was more trees.
I'm speechless. The trees the wildlife(including wild peacocks) the scenery it's all breathtaking. Magical. Definitely going to be visiting lots!!
Nice quiet park nor far from the city core and also close to the ocean.
The most beautiful park.
I love the flowers & the Totem is very impressive!
Such a lovely spot for exploring, picnics, tanning, or sports. Lots of open fields for soccer or frisbee, and more secluded spots to. Love that the oceans right there!
Beacon Hill Park has many trails that meander through the park, past several ponds, groves of trees, gardens and peacocks. The petting zoo is fun to visit, especially if you have children.
This place is so beautiful and I love to go with my family. I have been going for many years and I will continue to go for many more
At first I didn’t know why it’s a unique park but then I realised it’s one of the best parks to enjoy. Lots of scenery and the peacocks are so beautiful walking around you with amazing sunshine and all green around you. Lots of spots with beautiful rare flowers with stunning colors that just feels peaceful enough to change you mood and calm you down if you’re having a bad day.
Truely a magnificent park to cruise on a bike or stroll along on a trail interesting points of interest including a petting zoo an a world record breaking totem pole this park is a sight to behold for sure I enjoyed my stay here.....????????????
Not very crowded Friday afternoon. ..
Beautiful park. If you like to watch some peacock ???? this is the right place. Lot of scenery lakes and landscapes to enjoy. Pro tip, get sandwiches and come by and enjoy your meal in the park. There are many benches and desks to use. In my previous visits I could drive to park from northside (in weekends). This time on Friday gates were closed.
Beautiful Park. Lots of well-maintained trails for walking, fields for sports, and great views all around!
Beautiful park that has everything: many green patches, close to the city, nice playground for kids, easy to park even with a camper, peacocks ducks and many other animals running around. Good to combine with a visit to the children's animal farm
The area is so wide. There's nothing much to do here however its a good place to do a picnic and chill. Enjoy the forest, the big trees, the peacocks, the ducks. Its quite and scenic.
A great place for little ones or just to stroll through the park. Beautiful view from up top of the Olympic mountains.
Nice walking/hiking trails. Construction closed some of the areas
Wonderfully kept public park with lots to see and do. The free putting green was a nice surprise to spend some time on a sunny afternoon.
Our tour guide took us here during our tour of Victoria. It’s a quaint little park good for strolling and watching all the peacocks.
Stunning park with a great diversity of birds peacocks, duck etc.
Gorgeous park to walk around and enjoy a relaxing day at. There are ponds, beautiful floral, lots of green, and even a petting zoo. It was my first time here and definitely won't be my last!
This is a must go to park if you have children or if you just want to go for a nice walk. The park is huge and has so much variety. Located right on the Ocean, you can walk along the path and look across to the mainland Mountains on a clear day. If you walk closer to the centre of the park there is a free kids zoo with lots of animals, open in the spring and summer. All year round there are peacocks walking around the park and hiding in the trees. There is free parking along the West side of the park for 3 hours.
I love this place so close to the water great kids playground for all ages petting zoo (in season) absolutely beautiful park all year around
My go to place for relaxing walks and some nature time!
We visited this beautiful park in the summer of 2018, perfect weather, flowers blooming everywhere, peacocks walking around, not crowded, photo ops everywhere. It’s a decent size park so give yourself at least 2 hours to walk around and enjoy the scenery, late afternoon is really good for photos.
Beautiful park with lots of paths and even an off leash dog park (didn't have our dog with us though but she would have loved it!) Seems to be lots of space and the children's farm looked really busy (didn't have our kids with us so didn't go in here). Worth the visit!
The one of the best views in Victoria. You get to meet up with the beautiful nature and the locals.
This park is packed with peacocks, rose garden, blue herons, and more. They have a theatrical stage, and there's a Moss Lady art at its finest!
Great place to walk and see some exotic and native flora. Geese have taken over the parks.
Because personally I love animals and this peting zoo does not keep the animals caged up their entire lives like other huge companies. Also it's all by donation, and you get to pet the animals to (don't forget to wash your hands). And finally I love Beakon Hill because of the setting it's just amazing and the voulenteers are so nice.
Great little park. Lots of ducks and the peacocks are a good time.
I love seeing the water front and love the walkthrough the park! Peacocks too
Beacon Hill park is one of the best features of southern Victoria. There are multiple parks for children to play in, including equipment and a water park (open seasonally). There is a fully staffed petting zoo, where a number of different animals can be touched. There is a big concert hall for outdoor events, there is a putting green, a baseball diamond and a big soccer field. There are a few small mountains and forests, grasslands and many ponds with ducks. You can spend hours exploring.
Nice park, however it is presently occupied by lots of homeless people with temporary “tents” everywhere throughout the park. As a first time visitor I was very disappointed and did not feel safe, even in daylight.
Beautiful park. Little zoo in the park. Public washrooms in the park. But there is plenty of homeless people are staying there.
The city’s largest park is also demonstrably the city’s most beautiful park. So many wonderful memories here including dozens of trips to the petting zoo, multiple weddings, meaning walks and talks, and so much more.
Beautiful peaceful zone in the city.
Worth a tour!
Beautiful place to take the kids or go for a walk. There is also a nice little petting zoo. Also great for kids. It’s by donation only, so it can be cheap. I highly suggest this on a nice day. The park is generally pretty busy with photographers and tourists. I wouldn’t suggest running your dog here off lease. Must see if in Victoria
Really nice park for flowers, some goats and peacocks. Large park but very walkable
And must visit if you are a tourist and visiting Victoria. there are lots of activities and little things to check out in the park. it's amazing that you can find free roaming peacocks in the park. Don't miss the tallest free standing totem erected in the southern corner of the park.
Amazing ambience on a medium hot summer day. Lots of people, warm and friendly, experiencing the beauty of this well cared for park.
One of the best place to get relax and enjoy life
Beautiful park, lots of parking, many trails, and many walking options to pick from. Also has a small rose garden as well as wandering peacocks. Definitely also stop by the beach.
A truly beautiful park to wander about in. Rain or shine you will get nature, fresh air and exercise.
Almost forgot what a gorgeous and peaceful place this park is. I had been avoiding coming here up until recently due to the increase in crime associated with homeless situation. Seems to be resolved now.
We used to live in Victoria and Beacon Hill Park was a place we would to go for nice walks. Needless to say that when we went there with our 2 kids on vacation it was one of the first place we visited while we were in Victoria and we were not disappointed.
This is a very big park that is very close to downtown Victoria. It has a kids petting zoo, beautiful floors (like a free, much smaller Bouchard gardens), sprinkler park, ponds, walking trails everywhere, a really tall totem pole and a place to relax for everyone all right on the water.
This park reminds me of the parks in England - very well maintained and lots to see. The park was great to walk through and admire the ponds, animals, and foliage. Went in March and the cherry blossoms were peaking out! It looks to be well used and loved by the locals. The houses surrounding the park on the East side are very cute (one of the historic areas). The park also connects to the waterfront walk, which has fantastic views of the strait.
Nice park to walk in. Big open spaces to have a picnic or just enjoy with friends. Good variety of flowers in the summertime to look at. Water fountains in different places.
A peaceful park with stunning views of Juan de Fuca Strait and the Olympic Mountains.
It's so peaceful n u can see beautiful peacocks n other animals..it's beautiful.
Good park, lots of things you can do like exercising-walking, jogging, gathering there's playground too and lots of animals.
A beautiful park on the outskirts of Victoria. There's plenty of walking trails and Scenic views. There's even a trail down to the water.
Very relaxing and pretty Park. It has small petting zoo, which we really enjoyed, even though we didn't have any children with us.
Sat on a quiet bench at the viewpoint. Quiet areas. Lots of ducks and peacocks.
No doubt this has become a new favourite place! There is so much life with all the ducks, geese, birds and all their babies. We also saw deer, a racoon, caterpillars, peacocks and walked through a colony of herons... believe me when I said it was amazing. It's a huge area with so much to discover, go see for yourself, you won't regret it.
This park is a marvel in any season. I love how you can walk around and experience so many different types of landscapes. Traditional English knot gardens are right along side ancient cedars, Douglas fir and Gary oak meadows. There are play areas and an amazing petting zoo for the kids! There's even a painted turtle population in the pond. Truly a destination for the nature lover. (I have posted pics from a March trip, then August.)
Wonderful place to walk and admire the gorgeous landscape. Ducks, geese, peacocks, squirrels, even hawks! Lovely petting zoo and lots of picnic tables and benches. 3.5 hour free parking!
Superb!!! What a gorgeous park that includes a petting zoo and miles of beautiful park . Easy walking to the beach and also the world's largest totem pole. Expect to see lots of beautiful things including beautiful people. Lots of dogs walking around having fun. Wild peacocks are a nice treat.
It's safer now - only saw two tents, and there are fewer blighted areas than I feared. Still wouldn't stroll barefoot through the grass yet (still have a crew patrolling daily for needles!)
A gem of a park, but stay to south end, as street people have ruined the north end with tents, needles, trash and feces. As well, you safety cannot be guaranteed at dusk, be watchful as park users have been harassed and threatened. Hope the city deals with the issue soon.
Beautiful park! If you can't make to Butchard Gardens, this is a very good hidden alternative- petting zoo, free 18 hole mini golf, pond with frogs, turtles, birds (herrings), even saw an otter... and you can visit the highest totem pole in the world!!
NIce walk, ponds and birds. Peacocks are majestic.
Excellent place to chill in nature, you can feed peacocks and ducks. There are many small- medium trails which can be explored. Also try out near by spiral beach !!
Beautiful park, lots of birds here, you can find ducks, geese and peacocks, squirrels etc. Lots of ponds and beautiful gardens and a playground for kids, overall amazing park especially because its so close to Victoria Downtown.
A beautiful park with peacocks roaming around! Crazy!
A very nice park in victoria. Nice place to take the family for a walk
We saw peacocks, which was a big surprise. But overall the view in the park was just ok.
Beautiful gardens. There's a lot of variety here, from flowers to barren rock cropping to duck ponds to views of the ocean.
One of the best parts of Victoria. So many cool spots to explore within the park. If you're ever having a bad day, go visit the goats, it's impossible to be in a bad mood after petting baby goats.
Large park full of little water features for the birds and sight seers alike. Bridges and paths meander through the large shady trees and colourful flowering shrubbery. Spray park for the kids, a playground as well, shaded eating areas, open grassland for a picnic, public washrooms and free parking. Great park in the heart of Victoria.
Very nice park. All you can expect. Right by the sea with a zoo, play area, rose gardens, view point and plenty of trees.
Always impeccably kept up, so much nicer now with tents gone, nice to feel safe again, much wild life always a pleasure during my daily walks.
Gorgeous manicured gardens with various types of birds including many peacocks. Petting zoo open in the summer which is very cute. Borders the ocean and definitely a must for tourists in a sunny day
A must see in Victoria. Short walk from downtown, but take an hour and half to explore the whole park. On every tourist website, but still underrated. Buy raw seeds to feed the ducks. Thrifty Foods if nothing else.
Yoga in the park, and a good place to sit and write. Heck yes.
This was an amazing park full of things to do. In the park you and see the words tallest totem pole as well as many of the colourful peacocks around the park. One other thing I like about the park is the coast which is very lovely to look at. The park is a good place to walk around during a trip to Victoria. Overall the park is an amazing park full of fun activities.
Go up near the children's play area and petting zoo to see the peacocks roam around. They are all roaming around and super friendly. It's a beautiful park and the scenery is surreal.
Little goats!!! How can you not love the little goats! Took the family when they were over for a visit from Vancouver...and they loved petting zoo. Also the gardens and ponds are majestic to walk around during a warm spring/summer/fall day.
It was a really good park and had a really good zoo to bad its not the same anymore and it's NOT SAFE AT NIGHT...
Great children's playground with water fun, lots of gardens to walk through, and many animals to watch. I would still like to go and see the running of the goats.
We were not suppose to go there, it was on our path from the parking to downtown...but we didn't regret any minute of it. We finally took our time to visit the park and enjoy this place. This is a beautiful place.
Amazing place to spend your leisure time
Well usually it’s a nice place to go and get ice cream and walk around... the homeless people are a problem, I suggest we move them to Liza helps front lawn Why? Well because if they leave anything dangerous then she can just pick it up easy peasy, if she wants to use it for something all she has to do is not bug them And she likes to help, I mean her name is Liza “helps” I’m pretty sure there’s a petition on change.org to move them to her lawn go check it out if you want
Beautiful place now that the homeless encampment has been moved put and the park cleaned up and fixed, however very little place to park as they've now blocked 90% of the roads through the park. Plan on walking from. Outside the park. If you're in a wheelchair, this isn't a good choice any.ore. Mayor Lisa Helps has thoroughly ruined many of the fully accessible places around Victoria and rendered them accessible almost exclusively to people on foot or bicycle.
A pretty little park to walk around. Also a great spot to see wild life wandering around freely: peacocks, deer, squirrels, ducks, and other birds. There are paths and bridges and small building and interesting trees. Plus, you’ll come across some hidden gems like a “Moss Lady” and an outdoor performance stage.
Beautiful!
The city has effectively blocked access .. let campers destroy the park .the petting zoo is closed ..can't see goats giving you covid .. playground is painfully bare of seating for adults .or playthings for the kids ..they had more fun climbing rocks and trees ..at least the washrooms are open and clean.. and near the playground.. rose gardens are gone ..the lookout on the hill gone ..but the flowers will be back soon .. kids and kite flying ..still a beautiful place
Victoria's crown jewel of parks!
Nice walk through the park. Great history
Beaconhill Park is such a great experience. We saw peacocks, turtles and many other birds and mammals. It's a big park so be prepared to walk a lot. There are no facilities inside the park so come prepared. The park is a good 30-40 minutes walk from downtown Victoria. One may want to drive. Parking is not a problem. It's good to spend an hour if one is lucky to see peacock.
Gorgeous park with a multitude of different paths and directions to take you. I find that it’s like a discounted value Butchart Gardens. Nice place to escape the heat in beauty.
This is a beautiful place to enjoy a relaxing afternoon. There's a surprising amount of diversity in the park from scrubby rock outcroppings to a forest with mossy covered trees. The flower beds, lake and wildlife all add up to create a serene space that all ages can enjoy.
An absolutely amazing little oasis of beautiful scenery and local wildlife. The natural gardens are well kept by the local garden society. A place you and your family could spend the entire day exploring or just picnicking. Be sure to check this park out in your next visit.
The accomodation was lovely. Beacon had a wonderful check in & concierge service, and quiet neighbours too! 10/10 would stay here again.
A beautiful park, ideal for just cruising around. Totems, flower gardens, ocean views, it's got so much.
The park was beautiful and fragrant from all the flowers. Walking through all the fountain areas was like a childhood dream.
The park was beautiful and fragrant from all the flowers. Walking through all the fountain areas was like a childhood dream.
Great park to walk or run and enjoy some fresh air. Love the peacocks !
Really awesome park! Immaculately taken care of, very beautiful, well thought out.
If you love nature then this is your place with extra attention of turtle ???? , ???? deer and peacock.
Lovely open park area on top a windy hill. Great views of ocean.
This park started out kinda dingy but as we progressed through it, it was really nice!
Flowers, goats ???? and peacocks. Great space!free 3.5 hr parking when you use the park. Cook street playground is close and a great spot too.
Great look out on top of park!
THIS WAS ONE OF THE BEST PARKS. I just really love this park a lot because of how foresty it is. It has some beautiful places down there and I absolutely loved it. I’d recommend going to this park if you live near it.
Beautiful park, Beautiful walk! This is a must visit if you are in Victoria!! #DogstableAbbey Approved!
Beautiful park to go for a walk or picnic. It's very peaceful and quiet during the evening around the main park areas. There are some areas of the park that are used for parties but police usually deal with them quickly. There is lots of parking, an elaborate playground and beautiful lake/pond and bridge to enjoy. There are also some cool historic items laying about the park such as an old anchor and a giant watering can which is less historical and more hysterical. Up from the parking there is a viewpoint with a Canada flag and the sight is absolutely amazing. The panoramic view of the sea and Washington State across it is breathtaking. There are also many kite surfers in the area which are cool to watch. You can also access the rocky shore from the park to see the kite surfers closer up.
Beautiful park, that is all
Very beautiful park, lots of peacocks and interesting flowers and old growth trees
Everybody loves this place. Watch out for duck poo
Very Beautiful. Must see ..
So nice park in Victoria, I can't imagine to see wildlife peacock freely walking in the park. So amazing.
Here are some of my recent favorite pictures of Beacon Hill Park. I just love it here. I feel so bleesed to live here.
Have you ever wanted to walk with Ducks, Geese, Peacocks? No seriously, they will follow you and allow you to come within inches of them. How about hang off an amazing Sequoia without going to California? I've never in my 38 years have I ever experienced such beauty. Beacon Hill Park is a must see, any time of the year if you visit Victoria. Pack a lunch and explore the roughly 150 acres of one of the most peaceful places in Canada.
This well looked after park is large to the extent it doesn't feel crowded at all, with many different areas to discover and enjoy. There's ponds, flower gardens, open spaces and park benches as well as a stage that gets live performances. It's a great park to go to for a walk or to sit back and enjoy. There's parking available on the streets surrounding the park.
This was such a beautiful place to see and walk, wonderful!
Such a nice meal..good service!
This is a park like nowhere, you can see the wild peacocks walking around the park. It also got a small zoo where you can pet some baby goats. Enjoy the time here with the kids.
Amazing park to walk ... even on a windy pre-spring day. This place would be 5 stars if the bleeding heart liberals would clean up the homeless tents! Find a “better” place for those tents!!
One of the most beautiful psrk we have seen - lots of diversity
Beacon Hill Park is a fantastic place to wander and lose yourself among the beautiful flowers and peacocks, the ducks and geese, the turtles and squirrels, and a wide variety of birds. It's one of my favourite places to take photos!
Would be better without homeless people. Look at the ducks, see a peacock, check for needles so your kids can play.
A beautifully park, treed and planned well. Variety of semi-wild inhabitants...usually a very peaceful setting. The Great Blue Herons nesting year after year...squirrels, ducks, racoons and those beautiful Canadian Geese.
Loved it! Amazing sites and smells
Great park with various activities and hidden gems like the “Moss Lady” or Robert Burn’s monument. The peacocks are walking, mum duck is teaching baby goslings to find food, herons are nesting with such a loud noise; squirrels are running right beneath the feet. Great spot to do sport, yoga, learning about nature and looking for some inspiration.
Great park even on a cold, wet evening. The ducks are just as fun for the kids as the play ground.
Awesome! So much beautiful plant life. Flowers and trees are gorgeous! The people in the city take very good care of the nature!
Ducks, squirrels, peacocks and turtles! Beautiful park..
Beautiful park with lots of trails. If you go to the end, you can find the first mile of the Trans Canada highway as well as a beautiful coast! Lots of places to enjoy, sit or explore. As you can see from the pictures, sun set is gorgeous
Serenity plus.......
A well maintained park. Good for a walk with family. Lots of animals around, mostly birds.
A well maintained park. Good for a walk with family. Lots of animals around, mostly birds.
This place quite a big park with small ponds, ducks , small animals and beautiful plants Where one can relax , take long walks. Also has benches and trails where cyclist can do cycling. Parking is available. Bathroom was not well maintained, that’s why I am giving 4 stars to this place
So much to do here at the Park! All seasons! We go to the park all the time. Feeding the duckies with bird seeds (remember no bread!! ).. admiring the flowers in warmer seasons, strolling through the winding paths, play at the playground (which is conveniently located close to the washrooms), visiting the animals at the petting zoo.... There are many animals roaming freely in the park area: peacocks, duckies, blue herons, turtles, pigeons etc etc. So blessed to have an amazing urban park in the city!
Forever my favorite place to visit. As a child my late grandfather used to walk me through here to the petting zoo. Some of my best memories growing up have been in Beacon Hill Park. If you haven't taken the family/kids/your partner/or your dog.. I highly recommend it. Beautiful and lucky to have this park.
Most famous city park in BC. Beautiful year-round--herons nesting now (July)
A beautifully landscaped park in the heart of Victoria. Totems, Petting Zoo, water fountains, ponds, rose gardens, and more!
Always a great time, doesn't matter the time of year.
It is a simple place and good place to get wet on a hot day. The bucket does spray water quite a distance.
A great place to walk and let your thoughts fly away with beautiful landscape of nature
Beautiful gardens with herons nesting, ducks and peacocks, even saw a bald eagle (he likes the totem pole).
Huge beautiful park. There is so much to see. They have a bunch of wildlife just running around the park. There are a ton of ducks, and peacocks just roaming free. The grounds are so peaceful and beautiful. I could just spend all day there
Really nice imitation of a London park.
Great place to go for a walk or picnic with friends or a spouse! Beautiful views!
Really had good time in the park even short trip. can see lots of nature .
It was a really good park and had a really good zoo to bad its not the same anymore and it's NOT SAFE AT NIGHT...
It's beautiful here! There are lots of random animals running around, live music, and there's a petting zoo for kids. There are fountains and ponds with fish and birds, and the whole park is a short walk to another park by the ocean.
What a beautiful sight! We walked there for a good hour and loved every minute of it. The clouds started fading and we could see the snowy mountains a. It was a very cold day when we visited but will definitely visit during another season on our next trip to Victoria
No longer feel safe at night on even by myself during the day due to homeless camps and documented sex assaults , stabbing in the park. Very unfortunate as it is the nicest park in the city with a lot of birds. Ducks and peacocks are still there.
Great place to spend a sunny weekend afternoon! Lots of open space for cricket or picnics.
Such a beautiful place to spend time in the rain pr shine and with peacocks and wildlife abound.
Big park with beautiful landscaping. A lovely pond with a stone bridge and a couple of playgrounds.
Beautiful park. Little zoo in the park. Public washrooms in the park. But there is plenty of homeless people are staying there.
Great place to take kids. Lots of fun petting goats and seeing all the other animals. You can spend hours there if you have kids very interested or just walk through it. I would say an hour is a good amount of time. But beacon hill park has a lot to see. Bring a picnic basket and have fun at the park or water park or garden and stop at the zoo. It is by donation. Suggested donation is $5 adults and $3 kids. Fair prices for today’s society where everything costs so much. You can also donate more as everything goes towards caring for the animals so even if you don’t have a lot of time you can run through and see some animals and donation helps feed the animals and keep it running for others to enjoy
I had to go through its trails to reach the cricket ground. It has multiple trails and need atleast 2 hours to explore most of them. It is one of the places I would pick to do a small potluck with friends as it has benches to sit and accessible washrooms. It also has play area for kids.
Love this place its so peaceful and beautiful. its a must see.
Love this place its so peaceful and beautiful. its a must see.
Great walks, paths, vegetation and wildlife throughout the park
Hi Isabella, I don't ashame to share with you that I have a lingering feelings to my last relationship and the lost of a my Jobs, when I remembered disappointment I would be feelings like a sad and reactively of mood is also retrained in my loneliness and homesickness. She still comes in to my mind a lot, since we've a common.... I will love her, cause she a good person.... I hope you have a good Sunday Is... Thank you
Must visit place on your trip to Victoria, park with so many different ways to enjoy. Clearly a 5 star place. I am taking 2 stars way due to... Caution: during my last visit, I noticed lots of homeless tents. Please visit during day time. If it's evening, please stay safe.
Tents are nicely situated for the homeless. People are out and about and the park Is clean.
Such a beautiful spot in James Bay. Being from Saskatchewan, we are deathly afraid of Cobra Chickens (Canadian Geese). However the Geese in Victoria are surprisingly laid-back. So glad we toured this little gem.
Great park. Really sweet place to chill at the water.
A very expansive park with plenty of open fields and pathways for leisurely walks. There are flower gardens and ponds within the park. There is also a large totem pole towards the southern end of the park, as well as great views of the coast. There's a section where you can walk down to the shore as you go west towards Holland Point Park, but it is not maintained to be used as a beach. Plenty of mosquitoes around dusk so bring your bug repellent!
Plenty of activities for people of all ages and interests. Great family place.
Amazing park ! So beautiful
THIS WAS ONE OF THE BEST PARKS. I just really love this park a lot because of how foresty it is. It has some beautiful places down there and I absolutely loved it. I’d recommend going to this park if you live near it.
This is probably one of my most favorite places in Victoria. This park is so beautiful and it's truly the most perfect place to spend time with friends, family, your pets or if you just want to take a walk by yourself. The scenery is beautiful and the petting zoo is always a great place to visit as well. I have lived in Victoria for over 25 years and I have to say that this park is one of the places I remember having the most relaxing times and fun times with friends and family. If you're going to visit Victoria, then I absolutely suggest you take the time to visit this beautiful spot. You won't regret it =)
Amazing experience. Petting zoo is fun place. Lot of animals and birds. Clean and organized
Cute ducks and plenty ponds, lots of beautiful trees.
Fantastic park, the fall leaves are amazing reds and yellows. Lots of wild life Peacocks, ducks, squires and deer. No turtles today but in sunny days often see them clambering on to log in the ponds. Lots of history points of interest through out the park.
As fall arrives tents will likely appear again as people migrate to the coast to overwinter in the parks and it's unlikely they will be banned. Check Friends of Beacon Hill Park for the update on the lawsuit to ban camping.
Nice and beautiful park for a picnic with friends and family. Good for walks and first dates:). Lots and lots of spots to hang out. There’s a public washroom as well.
An easy bus ride and casual walk just outside of downtown. The gardens are well kept, with seasonal flowers in themed areas. You may be lucky to see peacocks walking around too.
The petting zoo is adorable. There's a suggested donation upon entry. The rest of the park is beautiful with an abundance of ducks, gulls, geese, peacocks and other birds and animals.
Free large Park with trees toys and petting zoo plus lakes .... Today walked through. February 25 2021 I would not walk, any other than the roads. ( Most are now closed) The park is full of tent people. Guess 25 to 30 tents, this is why I would stay on the roads and not go in after dark.
Beautiful huge park. Spring summer and fall they have a children's petting zoo with baby goats in the spring. Would make a good wedding spot and its waterfront is spectacular.
Beacon Hill Petting Zoo was glorious. I got there just in time for thr running of the goats. Only one baby so far but bunch more due any day. Lots of hand washing but that's good! Sunshine, little kids and goats, too.
It's a lovely and massive park. We saw deers roaming there which was awesome..❤️. And there's a nice cricket playground too.
Lovely park for a stroll!
Very nice park with great view to the ocean, great for stargazing when the skies are clear. I saw my first ever shooting star there. :)
A wonderful park by the waterfront. Lots of waterfalls and ducks and peacocks walking around and then there is the petting zoo that is sure to fascinate children and adults alike.
It's a lovely park full of gardens, places to play and even has a stage. Loads of wild peacocks live here!
Beautiful park to explore with family and friends. Lots of different areas to check out and plenty of wildlife to see. Give yourself a few hours if you want to visit the park as well as Finlayson point and other areas near the water.
Amazing and beautiful walk. If you like to feed ducks. Do not forgot to bring your bird seed. We saw some peacocks in the park. Nice place to do some bike ride, I guess. We are in a hurry at the time we are here. Make sure to send more hours to really appreciate the park.
Beautiful park in the heart of Victoria BC with easy access to the ocean. Lots of beautiful gardens, wildflowers, and old growth trees. Various duck ponds, fountains, and lots of winding paths with ornate bridges over creeks. Music in the Bandshell on summer afternoons. Great for birdwatchers. The petting zoo is fantastic...don't miss it. There is also a small putting green, but you need your own balls and putters. The only drawback is that there is just one restroom and it's a long walk if you're on the other side of the park. They are not very well kept and often run out of toilet tissue. Overall, the park is gorgeous and we'll worth a visit, a picnic, or a stroll at any time of year.
Great park, close to the city, fairly big and lots of animals.
Make friends like this guy as you wander through Victoria's beautiful city park with ponds, fountains, a rose garden, a putting green, a wonderful kid's water park and a children's petting zoo.
What a great city park! This was a scenic 30 minute stroll from the ship. We walked along the water and by beautiful craftsman and Victorian style homes interspersed between the modern. All of them had highways gardens and at the end of May it seemed like everything was in bloom. Then we walked around the park with its gorgeous gardens, totem pole, ponds, and wildlife. It was then an easy walk showdown for lunch. Can't wait to be in Victoria again.
Flowers, goats ???? and peacocks. Great space!free 3.5 hr parking when you use the park. Cook street playground is close and a great spot too.
Very nice park. Cute petting farm. Lots of ducks, cute turtles on logs, great running paths, great landscape.
Beautiful views of the ocean along thw coast with paved trails or rugged rock climbs. Its got it all. Spend the day there for some R&R
Absolutely beautiful place! Was filled with ducks and peacocks!!! It was so serene and peaceful!
Cute little park! Has peacocks! ????
An active location for friends and family. Beautiful sights to see, and a great place to run the dog and play.
Beautiful park with lots to do and see for everyone including children. There's a petting zoo, lots of space away from roads etc
Always...a timeless awe inspiring gust of magic...
Really nice even in winter, not so many home-less tents these days either.. well maintained for sure and lots of wildlife.
Well manicured gardens and peacocks everywhere. A small stand of Garry Oaks in the middle too!
My favorite park in all of BC. So idyllic and there are peacocks roaming wild around the park. Leads to a peaceful beach where you can watch parasailers, swimming dogs and find sea glass. The flowers that bloom in the summer are magnificent.
Everytime I go it's a new experience. Winding trails, petting zoo, peacocks, free concerts, ponds, moss lady! I feel like they should make a scavenger hunt
Beautiful park lovely big trees
It's a lovely park full of gardens, places to play and even has a stage. Loads of wild peacocks live here!
We love visiting this park every time we come to Victoria. There are beautiful gardens, duck ponds, children’s farm with cute farm animals, kids playground and spray area, and you could go down to the beach and take a walk as well. There’s something to do and enjoy for everyone.
Damn beautiful place, it has lots of birds. You can see beautiful peacocks and ducks all over. The park itself is gorgeous and well maintained. It has a small pond and few small rides and swings for small kids. Must visit place if you have kids, they will love this.
Amazing sites and natural beauty. Kids love it, adults love it- great overall experience. Outdoor concert area, beautiful flowers, small water fountains and bridges and a children's farm (like a petting zoo). Just beautiful!
What a wonderful stroll from the harbour to Beacon Hill Park. It’s my first time walking through Beacon Hill Park. Weather was sunny but chilly mid-February 2022. We saw ducks, herons, geese and peacocks! The Moss Lady was impressive created by by gardener Dale Doebert and Victoria city employees, so creative! This is such a lovely park. I would walk through this daily if I lived in Victoria. Next time I will bring bird seeds to feed the ducks.
An absolute gem in the city. Beautiful. Well kept. Incredible variety. Great water parks and kids play parks. You can easily spend hours here wandering and exploring. I give it only four stars as there have been some issues with homeless folks camping in the park (they are asked to leave) and also reports of needles being found. Definitely still a must see and the bad stuff is by far the exception, but it is a bit disconcerting. Real picture that was taken by the turtle pond going over the bridge.
park is in walking distance of downtown. Walk up to the flagpole and down to Finlayson point. View the US side and Mt Olympus on a clear day. Great water view. Walk back through the park by natural amazing flower gardens.
Lovely during winter season as well
A good park for spotting stranded ocean freighters, an all-male squad of peacocks, seniors banging in the bushes, seaweed nipping at your toes, dogs climbing dogs to get to dogs, mile zero of Canada's Only Road and totem poles almost as tall as the soft serve cones.
Beautiful park. We walked here with kids, went to playground. Could easily spend half a day there!
Beautiful park, lots to see❤
Beautiful year round, the animals, wild and at the petting zoo, are lovely, and the outdoor concerts rock. Maintainance has done a great job, despite the many hardships of the last two years. Please help out by packing out all your trash, leaving the wild plants alone, and sticking to trails.
One word beautiful ????
Nice park to scroll around with friendly peacocks strutting asking for food from humans. Beautiful landscapes with flowers
This is a BEAUTIFUL park with lots of free parking spots available. Public restrooms are available. Victorian style horse drawn carriage rides are available at a cost (not sure of this cost). Highly recommend visiting this park.
Very nice park with lots of ducks and geese. They also have a petting zoo for the kids.
My first time saw live peacock ???? and hundreds of duckies ???? in the ponds. Apparently this is the spot where locals goes for tobogganing.
nice place to chill out. just testing it for camping on a night where it's 5°C. I will say it's amazing to see wild peacocks in an area where i would never have suspected.
Beautiful spring blossoms and blooms, great playground and petting zoo.A wonderful park to visit.
There is an informal mini-golf place right in the heart of the park. Peacocks roam the parks, herons fly overhead, kids water fountains & playground, lots of ducks and geese, a wide variety of fabulous trees and flowers, totem poles and even a cricket pitch. Bring a volleyball or soccer ball, a frisbee, or ball and glove as there is many places for you to play. And pack a picnic too.
Great place to walk around, take in the sites of fresh flowers blooming, seeing the happy ducks, stunning peacocks, and beautiful surroundings. Great place to check out the petting zoo, and stop for a break to stretch your legs! Bring the whole family!
my mum & I went for a sunrise walk.. with all the dogs playing and colours of the sunrise so beautiful.. a cup of delicious coffee.. U've got urself an amazing start to ur day! if you haven't tried it you must..
Loved all the beautiful flowers! Keep smelling the roses. It's a free garden and free to play golf here
Lots of fun! Beautiful day out, and lots of animals and people about. The outdoors is good, petting zoo is unfortunately closed for now, water playground is open and running.
Very nice park! I went to see the moss lady and walked around a bit. I heard there is a petting zoo and some nice views. Make sure you plan 1 hour if your from the island!
Despite the tickets expensive price, it is an amazing place! The landscaping is perfect! Colorful flowers, waterfalls, creeks, lakes and fountains are really fantastic. The food court and suveniers store offered good food and products options!
This is a beautifully place. There’s parking available . I think it’s free on the weekends. If you get lucky you get to see peacocks walking by like its normal. If you love flora and fauna for your walk this is an amazing place to check out! There are 2 ponds and 1 massive watering jar statue. You can find the tallest totem pole that’s in the vicinity. It’s around the beach so you can see the water.. it’s a beautiful park!! Reminds me of Kuekenhoff in NL
This park is beautifully situated beside the city. Lots of choices of things to do from a picnic to the petting zoo. There is a splash park style play area for children as well as a normal playground. Lovely flowers to look at and music in the park on various days to entertain you. Buses stop at the edge of the park making it super accessible.
After visiting Victoria many times, we finally checked out this park. What a pleasant surprise. It was beautiful, with many flower gardens and paths to wander around. Plenty of parking. Even a "kid's farm" like a petting zoo. Really a nice place to check out. Loved the flower gardens and ponds/fountains. Well worth a visit!
My wife and I brought our five children to this lovely park. It was an unexpected delight to catch this photo of a peacock in all his glory. The inscription on the monument is from Burns. "The golden hours on angel wings flew o'er me and my dearie."
Peacocks, peacocks on a tree, colorful and brown peacocks, everywhere
This park is very special. I spent three mornings here on my recent vacation. There are fun little running trails through Meadows, beautiful views of the Salish Sea, peacocks, nesting herons, deer and rabbits. Our daughter played on the playground and had a blast brushing the goats at the petting zoo. I wish our park in Atlanta was this lovely!
One of the gorgeous parks in Victoria. They have animals pet area. The park entry was free. The park was huge and so beautiful. We saw so many peacocks there. Would definitely recommend visiting the park if you are in Victoria.
The watering can splash pad at Beacon Hill is great for kids, and families. There is ample space to socially distance, in shade or sun. We love it for a quick drop-in before heading home for dinner on a summer day!
Beautiful park with beautiful views of the Juan de Fuca Strait and neighboring USA, including Mount Olympus
Amazing experience!! I feel like going back to Beacon Hill Park everyday! There’s a farm to pet animals, an amazing rose garden and lots more!!
Well worth the visit if you are visiting Victoria. The park is safe and has incredible views of the ocean scenery.
Wonderful flowers, fun farm, and peacocks roaming freely throughout the park. Great place for a stroll or picnic with the family.
Wow. Great park. Mixture of multiple terrains. Lots of wildlife and the park is very clean. Will return on our next trip.
Nice park for a walk!
Really liked this park, we got to see several peacocks!????????
Totally great in every way
An absolutely beautiful park near the ocean. Breathing in some fresh air, and listening to wave, I felt calm and peaceful. I really hope I can live beside it.
Wonderful paths and birds all year, with fountains and ducks all throughout. The petting zoo is good in the summer. Bring bird feed if you feel like it, the animals are very tame.
Look a peacock!! Come here for the betting Zoo it’s by donation. Has so many cute goats and pigs. It’s a must do.
Most famous city park in BC. Beautiful year-round--herons nesting now (July)
Amazing landscaping and beautiful park.
Peacocks ignore the tents. Classy birds.
Fun park to walk around in Victoria. Beautifully kept grounds, and we even found some cherry blossoms.
We came here on a hot day for picnic, it’s so beautiful and relaxing
Take a walk through Beauty and Nature combined. Other than the Tent City inside the Park my time there was lovely..
Loved bringing my two-year-old niece here. The stampede of the goats in the morning is worth checking out - whether you’re an adult or a child. It was SO cute. Then getting to go pet/brush the baby goats after? Priceless. Walking through Beacon Hill Park in general is lovely, and one of my go-to suggestions when I come back to Victoria with someone who has never been here.
My husband and I got married here last July. It was so pretty we didn't need to splurge on flowers to decorate. This park is a beautiful way to spend an afternoon. The goats at the children's farm are so much fun to go pet too.
Plenty of Peacocks. Great place to spend your time relaxing in the midst of nature.
Definitely visit this lovely park. It is a jewel. Even on July 1st during a 150th Canada Birthday celebration, there was space to spread out and to enjoy all the park has to offer. Do bring some money to donate to the hands-on animal park.
You want to destress, come here for fun and relaxation. You got the birds, the squirrels, petting farm, ocean view across the street, bring a putting club and golf balls and you can use the putting green. A huge playground for kids and adults! Tourists should definitely check it out!
This place is huge. All year round beautiful place to walk around. Petting zoo across the road. Many beautiful ponds and water fountains. Peaceful place to explore
This place is beautiful and it's always nice to walk amongst the peacocks. Sadly, city planners have once again failed to consider that not everyone in this city can get around on a bicycle -- I'm not biking from north Saanich to spend 30 minutes in my favourite park. For reasons unknown to me, cars can no longer enter through Quadra, cutting off one of the most useful parking lots. It's been this way for over a year now so I doubt they plan on reversing it. This mirrors the general thought pattern I see in Victoria: always assuming that everyone who lives in "Victoria" lives close enough to bike everywhere, even in the winter I guess... I have always loved this city, but considering the cost of living here and the city planners who are trying as hard as possible to remove cars and have not built any sort of light rail system to replace them, I don't plan on ever moving back here.
The gardens were pretty but the highlight was the goat petting zoo area. The kids quite enjoyed themselves and there were beautiful peacocks strutting around also. There was free 3 hour parking and bathrooms on site. There was also a good playground.
Fresh breeze coming from the beach, many flowers in the park. A really relaxing spot in Victoria you have to visit!
Unique
I have lived in Victoria for 8 months now, but discovered this park quite recently. It's a beautiful place with herons, ducks, peacocks, turtles, squirrels which are living as if it's their natural habitat. This sweet serene atmosphere calms the mind and the soul. Weekdays are better because it's less crowded. Don't feed the animals or birds!!! They are being taken care of by the park management.
Beautiful Large park. Great for picnics, walks and children. Lots of parking. Cute petting zoo. Great views. And beautiful peacocks.
We absolutely love Beacon Hill Park and we visit it at least once on our almost yearly trip to Victoria. The Park is always so well looked after. The trees are old and tall and beautiful The flower beds are varied and colorful. The big pond with the fountain is a favourite spot . We picnicked on a park bench. The turtles were sunning themselves on a long log! The ducks were busy and the geese were busy, as usual. We will return next year, of course.
A relaxing afternoon for both children and adults! The pygmy goats are super cute and cuddly!
Spent almost an entire day here while docked for a cruise. Peacocks, flowers, ducks, landscaping, benches...I could go on. It's very peaceful and beautiful.
Beautiful park. So many beautiful animals and landscape. Full of flowers and it's free.
Beautiful, tranquil, calming...a great place for thinking and being! A perfect spot to rejuvenate after a hot drive from the dusty prairie! Bring a picnic!
One of the best places to visit in Victoria! Extra scenic in the morning when it's foggy.
Large, not overly manicured city park. Great place for a walk near the tourist areas to get away for a bit.
It’s a nice park which located near downtown. There’s peacocks and squirrels and even the bald eagle. But, the parking lot is not enough sometimes. The small zoo inside the park is worth to give a tour with the kids.
This is a beautiful urban park with manicured beds, rose garden, bandstand, lakes, petting zoo and playgrounds. There are no retailers within the park but ocean views from the top of the hill and a splash water feature for children. Parking is a little limited but it is pedestrian oriented and bile friendly. Well worth a visit.
Beautiful park find something lovely around each corner
Beautiful park find something lovely around each corner
Beautiful plant life lots of ducks and turtles
Gorgeous park, just the right size for a leisurely stroll. An absolute stop when visiting Victoria. Do your date a favour and pop over for a short walk and talk!
A lovely park, farm and garden. There are peacocks all around the grounds. The farm is by donation and has about 4 to 7 stations of animals. Great for a toodler as enough to keep them happy and not over stimulating.
Beautiful city park and kids play areas.
Beautiful Park in Victoria. I visited the little farm inside that you can interact with goats. You don’t need to pay for this farm but they ask a “symbolic” price.
Enjoyed a long leisurely walk through the park on a cool misty morning. Almost no crowds, so it seemed like a walk in the woods with just me and the squirrels. Walked to the world's tallest totem pole and wished I had a bicycle because there were so many well marked bike paths. All in all a beautiful place to spend a quiet morning while in Victoria.
A great way to spend a few hours. Beautiful scenery, water features, wildlife, and the children's farm.
A lovely urban park with great views, a lovely rose garden, petting farm and meadows.
Oh wow!! We were thoroughly impressed with the work that has been done in this beautiful park. Although not on the same scale as Butchart Gardens, the landscaping, the variety of flowers/trees, and the beauty of this park make it a must-see while in Victoria. There is no cost to enter the park. And the facilities are nicely done. There’s also water fountains with fresh drinking water. The peacocks that roam freely are beautiful, and there’s other wildlife to be seen while walking through this park. We would definitely recommend a hike through here, it was worth it after hearing so much about it from others.
Beautiful place surrounded by nature! Excellent playground for children. The only thing is that it is completely full of homeless
Beautiful, Relaxing, Beautiful flower gardens, great playground, loved the ponds & fountains. Lots of benches for short rests. Enjoyed the Goat Stampede & the Petting Zoo. Beacon Drive-in nearby. Good food. Soft ice cream. Had a great day.
Beautiful park. Kids loved the peacocks and the ducks. Homeless man under a tarp screaming at the top of his lungs was a little off putting though.
Amazing Park with all the animals, flowers and trees
Beautiful but many homeless
This is such a beautiful area, with lots to see and explore. From what we could see, this would be a great area to Snorkel, or just go for a swim.
Really nice city park to come out to in evenings and weekends with family. Lots of free roaming peacocks...
This park is so amazing to wander through. Animals, houses, beach, people, totem poles, Green space.... absolutely beautiful...so easy to walk, stop, see Space for dogs, peacocks, squirrels, ducks, birds...you name it!
Really gorgeous, give the local wildlife its space (the peacock tagged with a yellow ankle band is aggressive) and look for the moss lady art installation!
Unique inner city park. Clean and well maintained.
Stunning. Beautiful park to enjoy when in Victoria.
Absolutely wonderful. Sitting on a hidden bench watching the water, in the sun.. Well let us say it was wonderful
I was very impressed with this park. Beautifully landscaped with lots of cool bridges and ponds. The best part was peacocks roaming around the park! Petting Zoo was also fun!
Great kids park, zip line my 2 1/2 year old daughter loves. Lots of green space, all sorts of birds, petting zoo, band stand with lives performances.
Nice park to walk and lots of flower to see. There is a nice playground too.
Very nice park. Herons were nesting which was quite the experience. No commercial stores nearby so bring water/snacks if you plan to spend a while.
Great location, nice history, but absolutely not maintained.
One of my favorite parks. Such history and walkways... and beach!
Relaxing places for human being
Any park that has needle deposit boxes stay out, they don’t get used! I have watched daycare workers line kids up before they can run around, then they do a quick sweep on the grass for needles before playing. Needles should be considered a weapon just my op......
The views cannot be beat especially at sunset. Peacocks and tons of flowers too. We were recommended by the hostess at Milestones and it did not disappoint. Secrets out though, parking lot was full at sunset.
This park is the cornerstone of beautiful, historic Victoria. Filled with incredible plant and wildlife it's the perfect place to enjoy solo or with friends and family. The park is also just steps to Dallas Rd and spectacular ocean views.
Beautiful place especially in the summer
Wonderful park. Has a great petting zoo for kids (entrance is by donation). There's also a play ground for kids to play at. The garden nicely maintained.
Loved!!! Good walk in the park. Very cool to see the animals
Nice park for a walk. Beautiful man made lakes and gardens. Kids play ground and a small zoo.
Beautiful park. Lots of parking around it and multiple entrances. Beautiful lake and has the oldest totem pole in Canada.
This park is huge. There is so much to see. There are peacocks and squirrels wandering everywhere. The trees are massive and plentiful. So many different species, its beyond amazing and pictures do not do justice.
The view from this point is just beautiful. You can see the shores of Washington State from here. At the base of the park are some beautiful gardens that are also worth taking in. This makes a nice afternoon walk. If you want to drive up to the top, there is a parking lot. But you cannot drive during sunset time. I suppose they have a lot of foot traffic at that time. Worth the walk.
This is a must visit place. Take a stroll here for a very relaxing afternoon. Lots of ponds I saw a beaver swimming back and forth and lots of ducks and other birds. Beautiful flowers, plants and old trees.
Great park to walk around. Beautiful flowers! Parking is free. Wild peacocks walking around and just a good great place to go for a walk
Wonderful park. Enjoyed the ability to see all facets of it. Nicely maintained as well.
Now you can see the beautiful figures of peacocks and ducks, and it's a free opening. It was a wonderful trip to the Ocean Drive on the way to Beacon Hill Park.I'm planning to visit there again even in the spring when the flowers bloom.
Very nice park. Definitely worth of going there
An awesome place to walk around and be in nature, right in the middle of the city! Very close to the ocean, so a great way to break up the walk by the sea with a walk in the woods and gardens. Lots of benches, child play areas, a farm area (see the running of the goats with your child or grandchild!), bandshell, wildlife (ducks, peacocks, peahens, herons, etc)
Morning Adventures! Such a beautiful park.
Good place to relax and experience all that humanity has to offer.
Beautiful location on the island I grew up going there with my grandparents and I will be taking my kids there soon hopefully. Love the walk and love the ice cream shop that's also there. Petting zoo is great for the kids as well. It's a muct see if u are traveling to Victoria. If I could I would give it more stars
Beautiful garden/ park and it's huge. There's lots of grass area for picnics. There r picnic tables by the children's playground area. The play area is also quite big and it has 1 water feature in it, a fountain kind of thing, water squirts from the ground (after u push a button) kids were enjoying running thru it. Washrooms are not far from the children play area. There's the farm too where its free entry but u can give them the suggested donation ($4per adult and $3 for the kids) and the kids can enjoy watching patting the goats???? ,there's chicken, ducks, alpacas, peacocks, chicks, budgies pig, mini donkeys.. In the park there's lots of flowers and roses, ponds and ducks. There's free mini golf course where u can bring your own clubs and play. There's the statue of Terry Fox where he started his run. And the largest free standing totem pole. Many people say u can spot peacocks too, we didn't see any but it's still a Beautiful place. There's hiking/walking trails, lots of people were walking on them. I would recommend this place anytime, nice wish we had more time to enjoy the whole park.
Beacon Hill Park is spectacular. We enjoyed our time there. The kids love watching the peacocks showing of their beauty. Lots of docks, pigeons, squirrels, geese, and peacocks . The petting zoo was something else. The goats are very cute , pack you lunch and spend a day there. It is a lovely therapeutic place. There is play ground for children. It is small and needs some expansion. The kids had to line up to play on the swing, there was lots of kids around. The city keeps the place clean and colourful. Keep up the good job Victoria.
Such a enjoyed time and experience for the the family
Beautiful oasis among the bustling city and residential neighbourhoods. This park has it all! Great place to bring a couple beers, frisbee, and a good book to. Whether you want to stop and smell the roses at the rose garden, take in the views from atop Beacon Hill, or lounge on the grass and read a good book, this park has it all. Watch out for peacocks though! They sometimes can get angry. Also, it’s recently been closed down to cars inside the park, so that is a huge bonus, just adding to the peacefulness. Don’t worry though, the parking lots are still open!
This is the most beautiful park I've ever seen. It is full of different plants and wildlife. A must to see.
The beach is every bit as breathtaking as you've heard...
Well it's Victoria' s park. Lots to look at. Beautiful place all round. Currently our mayor thinks it's a good place to house homeless, drug addicted, mentally ill and that ruins it for many, but always a Victoria favorite. Hope they can get the homeless outta the park and clean it up. No one should have to worry about their kids playing and getting stuck with a dirty needle.
it's so beautiful
A huge park with Beautiful views. You can walk around, sit, and picnic. There is kids play area too.
Beacon Hill Park is not a safe place to be. Unfortunately the City of Victoria has allowed 24/7 camping in the park which has created an unsafe space for the public. I use to take my Grand Devils there all the time; not now
A very beautiful large park with peacocks, ducks, deer and of squirrels. Normally well maintain(homesless tents allowed during due to covid-please be careful of needles)
Was there on a snowy day, lots of fun. Very pretty. Wishbone could have seen the petting zoo animal area.
Lovely park with free roaming Peacocks. Great any time of the year.
First time experiencing peacocks are roaming around in gardens freely♥️
Beautiful spring sunshine and ducks in the open water areas of the pond. Our last surprise snow event is quickly disappearing.
My son loves going to see the peacocks
My granddaughter had a wonderful time feeding birdseed to the ducks. The Peacock was also a thrill for her. Can't wait for the goats to be open again.????
Need to better train their staff at the order windows. Poor communication between members and they seemed disorganized. Good ice cream though! ????
A band shell with seating, a children zoo (not open during covid times), peacocks running wild, a heron nesting area, beautiful flowers, a rose garden, a kids' playground, fabulous old trees, history of the park explained by signage, and lots of ponds and areas to walk. All this in Vjctoria and free of charge. We are so lucky!!
A great place to visit, it's beautiful and there's tons of wildlife here. There is always something new to see. It's a great place if you enjoy feeding ducks. There's a few temporary tents belonging to the homeless, but the place is kept very clean, they kept to themselves and caused no problems on my current visit. The park is still very enjoyable!
Adventure that’s full of unique surprises for all ages.
Very nice mature park, well kept gardens, lots of trails and duck Ponds. And peacocks.
We always go to the beacon hill park ice cream store. The best ice cream ever.. a must try.
Great inner city get away. Lots of little sights to see and views all along the water front.
I love the park. During the day, out with the animals. It almost makes you feel like you are not in the city. Also love playing Pokémon Go. Lots of stops and gyms.! Enjoy !
What is not to love. The view from up top or the furries down below. Wander the gardens or picnic around your choice of ponds. Whatever your fancy. Large playground for the Kidlets. Best spot to feel like a tourist right at home.
A beautiful park to walk around and it have beautiful threes and flowers.
This park was a beautiful experience. Being a nature lover, there was Alot to explore.. The plants.. The animals..and water features.
Gorgeous scenery, quiet and peaceful, and amazing place to walk around
Absolutely stunning!!!! Perfect place for a strole and close to the ocean.
I love Beacon hill park. It’s tranquil and so many nooks and crannies to go and find peaceful sanctuary. But they also have a petting zoo and play area for kids. There’s also theater in the park in the summer for concerts and plays. Plus I believe they have lawn bowling and at one time a cricket area, not sure if it's still there. The view on top of the hill is fantastic, highly recommend a visit to the park by yourself or with family and friends. Just wanted to add since I wrote this that Beacon hill park has steadily gone down hill since the city has allowed it to be turned into a tent city. The mayor and city council have to get a grip on this problem. They’re destroying the park and ruining it for people that come to enjoy it. Until they get rid of the tent city they’ve allowed to take over the park I definitely would not recommend people going there at this time.
Beacon Hill Park is always a favourite among the young and the old. It has a children's playground, two seasonal water areas for kids to play in (next to the playground and the big watering can), duck ponds galore (I pick up 1lb of duck food for 99 cents from Bosley's to feed them), a petting zoo where you can also watch the running of the goats, and countless places to sit and relax with a good book or a picnic in the park. Photographers will also be able to embrace the park's natural beauty. After 16 years of living in the city, it still remains one of my go-to spots.
Love this beautiful park, there is a petting zoo in the summer season. Ducks, squirrels and peacocks are the regular residents there. Everytime we visit Victoria we always stop there.
Love it! Huge park to walk through with peacocks and birds everywhere. Lovely scenery and duck ponds. Petting farm and playground for the kiddies.
Amazing, must see if you're in Victoria. Lushly green with nesting cranes, ducks and turtles. A special place.
Beautiful park.numerous ponds and lakes. A must see.
Great area to go for a walk with your dog
Always a favourite
Great relaxing park very accessible from downtown Victoria
Beautiful park with various small animals, particularly peacocks, turtles, all kinds of birds
Better than Butchart Gardens! A good place to chill or wander around and is close to the city centre without being crazy busy.
Such a lovely park in Victoria with beautiful hikes. If you walk far enough you may find breathtaking views of the ocean and even the tallest standing totem pole in the world.
I call this place my Birds' Park. There are beautiful (wild) peacocks, lots of ducks, herons are making their nest at the top of the trees and I've also seen eagles and hawks from time to time. Beautiful flowers on 3 seasons and of course Children's Farm with their goats, alpaga, lama, pigs, donkey and stuff. Nice playground for kids (water play area during summer) and a little further huge park area with baseball and soccer fields. Just love this place! Lots of trees too.
Had a fantastic afternoon here with my family. We loved the beautiful gardens, the ponds filled with ducks and lily pads, live music, the children's farm, and finally the playground. All around great family place!
Beautiful park with the occasional peacock roaming around. Nice picnic green space with trees all around. A nice walk through the park towards the waterfront
Pretty venue, pretty flowers, pretty peacocks.
Been coming here since I was little...lovely gardens and great walks.
I have no doubt that this park is easily in the top 5 (or even #1) urban parks in this country. Right now it's Great Blue Heron nesting season high in the tallest trees. The chatter coming from the heights is something to hear.
Amazing green space in the heart of a busy city. The petting zoo is fun for adults and kids alike. There are gorgeous gardens to meander through and a couple playgrounds for the kids to climb around on.
A well-tended park with lots to see. I feel like the planners did a good job on this - I've been to larger parks with much less to see and do in them. The goats were my favourite.
I absolutley love coming here! Its a big park with several ponds and the ducks and squirrels are very friendly and easy to feed. The petting zoo is always fun, and the park is maintained very well. Lots of flower gardens and sights in the park and makes for a great afternoon/day.
we love this park very much. it is beautiful at any time of the year but our last time we were shocked by so many homeless people. they are located throughout the park. very sad.
Awesome place to visit. Very peaceful. My wife and I really enjoyed walking in this park
Fabulous beautiful park. Great for families, so many animal's to see.
Gorgeous park in the heart of downtown Victoria. Play areas, picnic spots, putting zoo and ponds. Lovely park. Parking is fairly limited now. Might want to find alternative parking elsewhere and walk in.
Ice cream sucks. Used to be good. Parking sucks
Beacon Hill Park is one of the most beautiful parks in BC. There's a petting zoo for the kids to go see with lots of little goats that you can pet and play with. Across from that is are used to be a little putting green are those like 2 putt. The flowers and bushes there are just phenomenal. These pictures are of the potting area and it's close to the petting zoo. This area is just a small part of Beacon Hill Park.
So nice to be a part of Summer Cricket. Wonderful atmosphere with good vibes. Beacon Hill Pavilion.
Awesome place to walk around with little kids.
My absolute favourite park. The Petting zoo is a must, the immaculately maintained flower beds and beautifully bordered pathways are scattered with busy squirrels, friendly ducks float on the ponds, and old growth Oak trees dance in the wind. As cheesy as this sounds, this park is great year round whether you want to visit the children's water park, have picnics in the vast open fields blooming with wild flowers, walk down to the beach by Dallas Road or play golf next to the peacocks that roam nearby, Beacon Hill is a must.
Beautiful view... I sat and ate my lunch with police presence. Jolly good...what?
One of the most beautiful parks I've ever seen. A must see if you come to Victoria.
Very pleasant environment. Observed several specoes of bird, some were exotic to me, and found many cool landmarks and water features on our walk. As an avid player of Pokemon Go, this picturesque park had many attractions, and was a great place to photograph some of my more recent catches of rare pokemon. I enjoyed the shaded places and found a tiny meditation garden with someone relaxing there, and decided not to disturb them. One of the ducks came right up to me to see if I was carrying any food (sorry duck, I wasn't), and my parents got some pictures of me standing right next to a peacock. Wish I could have seen more of it.
Lovely park, filled with peacocks :) such a nice way to spend an hour or so away from the hustle and bustle of the town centre. Our favourite part of Victoria.
I take my infant son here for walks (light rain or shine) often. I could walk here for hours just admiring the different plants, trees, ponds and not mention the ducks squirrels and peacocks that seem that call the garden home. Just a stones throw away from Cook St Village (if you work up an appetite and want to try some local eats) and Dallas road if you want to breathe in some ocean air with a view. If you're out here, be sure to walk or drive down to the Ogden Point Breakwater for some magnificent up close and personal views of the water and lighthouse. It's breathtaking.
The totem pole was impressive....way taller than any I have seen. The peacocks roaming the park and the beach below the totem pole were nice. Rocky beach, but tons of dreft wood and nice to walk on.

Beautiful park in the city of Victoria. Different areas to explore. A really nice place to spend some time when visiting. Oak meadows, children's farm, rose garden, water features and more. We try to visit this park whenever we are in the area
Large park. Forested areas, fields, and pathways. Also public washrooms and a petting zoo. Great for get togethers, evening strolls, sports, kids outings, etc. Not the best gardens in Victoria, but Victoria is the garden city so there is a lot of competition.
This place is great with dozens of peacocks and hundreds of flours and trees. In addition there are several playgrounds and more.
Simply astonishing. Great for kids and seeing the nature
Beautiful and clean, my favorite place in the neighborhood!
Great place for kids! And benches for the parents in the shade which was great.
Beautiful and there is plenty of young bird life now ( mid-May). Unfortunately, there are still some illegal campers. I'm sure that most are nice, but homeless, but I don't want to walk there by myself.
Always beautiful for the last 60 years. Starting when I would feed the ducks before breakfast at age 3
Lots of wild life and beautiful ponds, water features, and plant life
A Victorian institution, and a must for anyone visiting the city, or longtime resident, for that matter. Beautiful gardens, sports pitches, walks along fantastic seaside vistas, and a petting zoo to boot! Plus some of the best soft serve ice cream just across the road. Don't miss it!
Simply beautiful. Gorgeous animals roaming around like deer and colorful peacocks. Stunning trees, flowers and ponds. A few other key talking points are the large playground, nice basketball courts, modern outdoor workout equipment, trails, and finally a public washroom.
It's a fairy tale...
Beautiful Landscape Beacon Hill Park Not just flowers but all kinds of wildlife too
It’s a very pretty park where you can take a stroll and enjoy the sunshine. Lots of flowers, ponds, gardens, and animals to see, including ducks, peacocks, and turtles. It’s a great place to take kids too and they can have fun at the playgrounds, water park, and petting zoo.
Great place to come with kids. So much to do and see- beautiful gardens, playground with a zipline, peacocks, a petting zoo!
Grew up in vic and used to love going to the park. Moved to a new city about 10 years ago, but recently went home for a funeral. Decided to take the kids to check it out and all I can say is wow, love what you've done with the place.... tents and needles and scrapping homeless people as far as the eyes can see. Keep it classy Victoria city council, you're doing great ????
Lovely place, a small hill overlooking the ocean from the south side. A nice cycling destination i would say. The peacock and peahen were fearless and were just roaming in the street, so be careful if you are driving(hard to miss).
It’s a beautiful park and it has gotten better. Didn’t see a single tent last time I was there. Felt a bit safer.
Absolutely stunning park. I could walk around here all day admiring the gorgeous landscaping and diverse vegetation. It is clearly very well-maintained. The City of Victoria has done an excellent job here. Please do your part and do not litter/abuse the grounds in any way. The Children’s Farm within it is great as well. Get there for the Stampede of Goats at 10:10am or 5:10 pm daily. Admission is by donation so please donate what you can to keep this running! This is a must see for all ages.
Peacocks, duck pond, beautiful trees. We went in the rain and enjoyed it, I'm sure in summer it is magical.
The park could be nice if you didn't have to strategically walk your way through it to avoid walking through the various tent villages that are prominent throughout it. We walked through it as a family as dusk approached and unfortunately we were more concerned with getting out of there before dark than we were with seeing the nicer areas of the park. Maybe it's safe as night time rolls around but for sure it doesn't feel that way when you walk through it and we weren't keen on finding out.
Bebe goats and miniature donkeys. And peanut butter the horse. If you like cute things check it out.
There were so many homeless camps, it made us feel horrible. I couldn't walk or turn down a single path without seeing socially encouraged desperation needles on the ground and public urination. The grounds were in grate shape though the city workers are top quality the birds were lovely and we even got to see wild peacocks.
The "Crown Jewel" of Victoria. Fabulous place to visit 12 months of the year
A little chilly but it was very well worth the effort to stay and take in the beauty of the park and wildlife
I visited here in late September but there were still many colorful and unusual plants to see. Lots of little baby peacocks, a variety of colorful ducks swimming leisurely. Beautiful old trees of many varieties. Wide lawn areas to stroll throughI felt a great sense of peace here, Although this park is right in the city it feels like you are miles away
Beautiful and well maintained park with excellent birds habitat.Wonderful experience.
Beautiful spot with lots to see...
So far my most absolutely favorite place in Victoria. It's not a far walk from the harbour and when the ferry dropped us off, we ate a quick lunch and headed here. If you're looking for serene, beauty, and a nice stroll in different directions, this is the place for you. Tons of pond locations and bench seating for you to take breaks (and photos!). Other animals you can see here are squirrels, peacocks, ducks and turtles (note: I didn't see turtles, but I overheard someone say so while they walked past me
Beautiful view.
We spent most of a day here. It's a lovely place with more wildlife than some zoo's! The nesting eagles were amazing, the peacock's were beautiful and running wild! It's good for kid and adults.
This park has it all! Trees as tall as buildings, ponds and fountains, beautiful scenery, turtles hanging out on logs, people enjoying the green space, open fields, peacocks and great walking paths. We were visiting Victoria for an extended weekend and wanted a place we could stroll around outside of the city - this was the suggestion we got and it did NOT disappoint! Do yourself a favor and go find some peace of mind at Beacon Hill Park!
I spent a good part of the day here catching Pokemon. There are a number of pokestops here. I didn't let that keep me from enjoying the squirrels and birds. It was a really great place to go for a walk and enjoy many flower gardens and streams.
Awesome space to go for a run, bike or just a nice walk. Ducks everywhere! It’s always fun trying to find the peacocks. Go get outside!
Beautiful spot. Lots of peacocks! I loved the area and wished I could have spent more time there.
Gorgeous park in the middle of town. Has a bit of everything, from peacocks to Garry oaks to the occasional afternoon cricket match. Free parking where you can find it. Definitely easier to navigate by foot or bike than car, but that's really how a park should be anyway.
Park is beautiful, if anyone has not been here ide suggest to make time.
World's best park.
Awesome!! Peacocks running free! Beautiful surroundings. The people tenting are friendly and helpful and very humble!
I love seeing all the birds (Ducks, Herons, Eagles, and Peacocks), the Turtles, all the beautiful flowers, and massive trees. On leash dog walking here is a must! Always a beautiful park to visit/walk through!
I loved visiting this park. We enjoyed climbing on the rocks at the beach, walking the paths and of course the Terry fox monument.
This is an amazing park for locals and tourists. Walk around the many trails and enjoy the greenery, flowers, ducks and peacocks! If we have a little one stop by the petting zoo, by donation. I recommend staying until closing time 1615 for the goat stampede! If it's summer time and hot make sure you also check out the water park.
Beautiful park.... beautiful walk to the ocean!
Beautiful flowers , peacocks roaming free and little charming ponds with fountains erupting in some if them . Ducks and squirrels with fluffy tails all over the place.
Very nice park. Love the rose garden and peacocks
A beautiful park. Love Beacon Hill Farm!
Incredible! Such beauty and wild life...

Nice park for young or old. Lots of green space and large trees. There are playing fields where we saw young people playing. The is an area for animals, and a pond. We saw rabbits and peacocks. It is place where you can relax. See friendly people and kids having a good time with their friends. It is very inviting place in Victoria.
What a wonderfully quiet and peaceful place this place is ! Even with people in it , the tranquility just soaks into one
i can't figure out how this is a free park with such lovely foliage and fall colours, and peacocks walking around, how this is free!? compliment this park with your visit to butchart gardens and you'll get the full experience. well decorated, went in october
Walked most if it very nice, loved the fountains and lily pond
Good park. Nice little petting zoo along with ice cream stand.
Everyone leaving reviews here who are turned off by the people living in tents should be more upset at the lack of affordable housing and the fact that people need to resort to living in a tent. I can't speak for the community but I'm sure they would all rather live in a house. So negative 5 stars for the lack of empathy and understanding of homelessness and why it exists. Beautiful park I hear with cool peacocks
It is a beautiful, tranquil city park. It has something for everyone. Hills with views, stone bridges, lots of different plants and gardens, many different birds and animals, historical spots, sports fields, playgrounds, a stage used in the summer, many benches to relax on and many paths to wander on and see what is around the next corner. Easy to spend hours here.
What a great little place to bring your kids! First off there was a decent line up before opening. We were the on a Sunday, and they have a goat stampede within a few minutes of opening. Almost everybody lined up to see the goats, what great fun. We then tied the rest of the facility. You can clearly see that these animals are very well taken cared for! They are all clean, and all of their stalls/ roaming areas were clean. The animals are very friendly. This is a great place to visit with kids, and even if you don't have kids! There is free parking nearby, and public washrooms within a short walk in the park.
Fabulous in the snow! Everything was frozen and it seemed magical. Love Beacon Hill in the summer and it's just as nice in the winter.
Very strange vibe in this park. People are living in semi-permanent tents throughout the park. I guess it beats paying a ton of money to stay in a provincial park (or not, since all are booked up). I expect that come summer you will be seeing hundreds of campers set up. There is no reason you can't put your tent directly across from the beach or your rv in the parking lot for free, such as the many current residents are. If someone comes and gives you trouble or points out the fact that you are not supposed to be there, you have all the proof around you that they are wrong. Obviously this is now a free campground.
Beautiful city park good for walking around, peacocks stroll on the green grass or perch in the treetops.
Lovely! Even in December! Looking forward to visiting again in spring/summer.
The park contains a small gym so I definitely recommend it for those who want to exercise in the morning as well as it is good for children as it has many animals and birds. Good for a picnic
With the retreat of the homeless encampments the park has largely returned to a naturally inspiring atmosphere though hippies can be burdensome in the area in the belief that they are nature leaving painted rocks and driftwood statues in there wake
Great little park. Lots of ducks and the peacocks are a good time.
Nice .now all the homeless people are gone..
Nice back pair to bushart guard 6 and 3 simply because it's still under development but has very nice area
