You will see the feddbacks of people who buy the services and products of Proulx Sugar Bush & Berry Farm (Zoo) in Cornwall (Canada).
Now the business receives a score of 4.1 stars out of 5 and that rating is based on 127 reviews.
You must have seen that the average score it has is good, and it's founded on a very high number of reviews, so we can conclude that the assessment is quite accurate. If there are many people who bothered to value when they've done well, is that it works.
You know that we do not usually bother to set evaluations when these are correct and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or issue...
This Zoo corresponds to the category of Farm.
Family run and has all the berry picking goodness you would expect it to have
(Translated) Very bad experience. No organization. The eaters were not the best and their quantity for the price paid. You get kicked out before you have time to finish eating. The wait is terrible for the children especially since you are outside in the cold for a long time. I'm over the top. First time and last time I have it. ☹
Great family event. A bit pricey if you don't hop the fence. It would be better if they changed it up a bit more from one year to the next. A bit lazy.
Lots of fun for little ones
Kids loved it
We hosted my daughter's birthday party at the farm this weekend and even in the rain the kids had a blast. It was nice to have everything taken care of, right down to the cake. And man, was the cake incredible! No simple slab cake with minimal decoration - they went all out to make a cake that really wowed my daughter! Everyone had a great time.
Very nice farm, kids have enjoyed all the activities there such as tattoo station, tricycle bikes, petting farm(touch and feed), etc.... In addition to that, a family friendly wagon ride through the forest is available, it is amazing. You can pick your own pumpkins from the patch as well. I strongly recommend visiting the farm, your kids will love it

Friendly staff. Berry picking with the kids was a great overall experience.
Good memories
No public lavatory! They only have construction toilets that don't clean them regularly. It's disgusting and inconvenient!
Place was closed without notice and kids are not allowed to play in the little park without paying. Not fun for the kids after a 45 minute drive.
Very well maintained farm. Kids enjoyed the small rides and adults enjoyed the time spend in the field. Great location for family and friends to spend time together. Recommend to go by calling First and asking about the season of fruits. Usually they have strawberries picking in June to mid July and blueberries picking in July and raspberries in August. We went in August and had to change our plan for picking strawberries to raspberries. Any ways we loved the place.
Went with a group of students, some with varying behavioural needs. The staff were fantastic, especially with those whose charm can be lost on others.
Lots of berries, pretty good system. Not as many extras as I've seen in the past, but it's COVID so I'm not surprised.
Has great food and a great place for kids
Syrup was still hot when I brought it home!
Nice farm for a family fun day, wagon rides, farm animal area, play structures.
A wonderful farm with welcoming staff. We went recently to pick strawberries. There were a lot of people but the measures and procedures in place made for a really smooth operation. The prices are very fair as well. Our kids also love all the play structures and visiting the property (outside of COVID) and we shop at their kiosks throughout the season. Everything they produce is top quality.
Enjoyed my time there. Maple syrup Canadian breakfast
Good food for the price, still prefer the ones on the Quebec side that offer all you can eat and provide ketchup and condiments to each table rather than the little cups. They also give you pickled goods and much more on the QC side.
Had a great time. They are taking the COVID restrictions very seriously. Be sure to dress for the weather.
Fantastic time at their haunted evenings. 10/10
Went to the farm to pick berries. When we arrived (11am) they said we couldn’t pick berries because there weren’t enough berries due to drought, yet the girl said we can come back in the morning to pick berries...(makes no sense....) The fact that we checked the website prior to coming and there was nothing mentioned is ridiculous and unprofessional. I’ve gone to this farm a few times, initially I thought it was nice. The more I go however the more i don’t like it. We went on a hay ride during Halloween season and it was so cheap. They even put out their Christmas decorations... The farm honestly looks like a junk yard. It’s unkept and there are so many structures (kids toy house etc.) that should be thrown out. The pumpkin picking was also a huge disappointment. Just to top it off, we decided we would buy some maple syrup since we couldn’t pick berries.... and they didn’t have the dark syrup that we always get. We ended up having to get a different one which I regret even purchasing from them. And funny enough when we drove away and we’re driving down Innes we saw their sign on the side of the road that said “fresh berry picking”.... they couldn’t even take their sign down or put a message on their website. This place is an utter joke. Don’t waste your time.
This would be the fifth year we visit Proulx Farm pumpkin patch. I recommend a visit, particularly if you live in the East end of Ottawa! Great family run business, very young child oriented during the day with a more frightening side after dark for the older kids! They also put on a wonderful sugar shack pancake breakfast, worth a stop in!
Sugar bushing with the family! We took our girls to the Proulx Sugar Bush with some family friend of ours as well. When we arrived there were a lot of other people there, who had come especially for the pancake meal. We wanted to do a little tour first, so we went to the registration building first. The Proulx staff were friendly and they helped us pay for the services we wanted and kindly informed us of what our different options were. We were there for the whole experience, so we paid for the sleigh ride and got our Maple Toffee bracelet's as well. When the horse's arrived tugging a wheeled sleigh, we were whisked off towards the maple sap distillery. After the short 5 minute ride, we arrived at where the maple distillery and café building are, and waited for the next guided tour. I was absolutely shocked at how technology had changed between the time I went to a sugar bush when I was just a young lad, to now. Instead of the old aluminium pails and metal taps, now they're using an automated pump and plumbing type system, where all the maples are essentially 'wired' together by small rubber hoses. I for one was impressed. The kids got their maple toffee and we waited in line to enter the café building. The pancake breakfast is fairly standard and of course they have plenty of fresh maple syrup on hand. All in all the Proulx Family Sugar Bush is a pleasure to visit both for the kids and an nostalgic fella like me!
Fun outdoors family activity... Not cheap to get in though
Had a great time!
Was really great not bad prices for strawberry picking easy to social distance good practices like washing hands before picking
We took our niece to the Halloween event and she had a blast. We loved all the mazes and the wagon ride was great. We especially loved the Pokémon maze.
We just went on July 1st to pick strawberries with our little 18 month old girl. A tractor brings you to the field to pick strawberries. Then we went to see the animals: ducks, goats, sheep, cows, rabbits, pigs. Our l.o. loved it. Us too. Strawberries were delicious.
Came here in the early spring and was satisfied with the experience here.
(Translated) Poorly organized for groups (Original) Mal organisé pour les groupes
Had a great time visiting this farm for the berry picking. The staff were easygoing, friendly and helpful. And took the time to explain some basics about different berry types. The berries were delicious! Definitely will come back!
Excellent family owned and operated Sugarbush.Great place to bring the kids to pick strawberries
We found the food to be overpriced. It was good, but not that good. In addition to the (steep) cost of food, you need to pay to visit the sugar bush. I would think that $110 for two adults and 3 kids would warrant free admission. Nope, $5 a person. We took a wagon to the play area. Kids had fun. It was -23, so went went to warm up in the warm up place. Heat wasn't on. Needless to say we were frozen. Missed a wagon and decided to walk back. Apparently this is not allowed (there was no sign, though we saw one when we got back to the other end). We were scolded. Heck, we couldn't wait around 15 minutes, if the heat was on, we would have been OK to. Also, port o potties were very full. My youngest almost refused to go. I find it odd that a restaurant doesn't have flush toilets and warm water to wash ones hands. This isn't a fry stand, we paid a ridiculous amount. We won't be returning unless some major changes are made. It's too bad, we love go support local businesses.
Kids had lots of fun.
Loved it
So much fun!!! Excellent Halloween decorations and spooky attractions for the family!!
Had fun with my kids, very tasty pancakes and syrup
Nice place to bring kids for day trip
Nice experience. Sweet strawberries. Friendly staff.
As an autumnal day out even with limited numbers prebooked due to COVID, this is an awesome two hours with kids. The tractor ride is a must.
We came here for sKreamers, and will be back next year. great experience!
10 stars for this great place for kids and adults to enjoy a day
Great reduced capacity covid experience!
A nice place for family time
The pumpkins were overpriced, like 9$ for a pumpkin. We had to pay a 15$ entrance fee. The pumpkin patch was empty just some pumpkins scattered at the front. We saw the woman in the kitchen wrapping muffins with wrap to make them look homemade but she took them out from store bought boxes ????♀️a couple of nice activities for the kids but very average place.
Excellent wine
We had an amazing time there.
Absolutely not responsive to the emails. Couple of follow-ups and no answer. Tried to come and discuss on the spot: the lady in charge was useless too
Friendly environment for children.
So many great things to enjoy at the Proulx Berry Farm! My son loved the tractor ride to th field where we picked 2 baskets of enormous strawberries in 15 minutes. He played in the smaller park (for preschoolers) but we'll have to go back to try the bigger play structures and slides. We ate our picnic lunch under a covered shelter and finished our visit with a tour of a little animal barn complete with geese, ducks, rabbits, goats, sheep, a donkey, and a miniature horse.
Fantastic farm! Went there with the kids for pumpkin picking for the first time, and there was SO MUCH to do we didn't even look at the pumpkins. The staff was incredibly welcoming as well. We plan to go many more times!
A real sugar shack. Nothing commercial, just a great traditional outdoor Canadian experience.
A nice family afternoon.
Friendly staff and helpful. Blueberry picking was fun and plenty to pick. My daughter and friends enjoyed it too. Price was more than expected compared to our last visit. But we had plenty to share with the neighbors and family between the 2 baskets we picked. And you can't beat fresh!!! :)
I went today for the sugar shack, lots of activities for children. Slides, animals to pet and beautiful trails. It was a cold day but they had fire pits place around the grounds. The only reason why I would not give it 5 stars was because they need to update their information on maple syrup. It was invented by the indigenous nation, however their outdated plaques called them as Indians. Otherwise a great great experience!
A bit of a rip off if you’re planning to go with toddlers...30$+ admission to watch them play with broken tractors in a sand pit, no pumpkin included in price of admission.
Excellent time despite the chilly weather
Sweet little farm whit a lot of activities during the pumkin fest. We did the corn maze and hayride. It was fun and it is a perfect place for families and kids.
Kids had a great time climbing the structures, roasting marshmallows, and visiting the animals. 10/10
Loved it and I would go again.
The raspberries are delicious. Took about 1/2 hour to pick 4 2L baskets.
It's not great in the winter. Can't really access many of the play structures. . Might be better in the other seasons. Although it isn't busy in the winter I guess.
Always a great local East-End spot for pumpkin picking and kids activities. 5 min from Innes Rd/Trim. Disappointing that admission this year (and weekends only?) does not include a pumpkin - they are all pay-as-you-go. Definitely an unnecessary cash grab, we always end up buying extra pumpkins anyway...
Very nice farm to go with children and do some activities.
This is our 3rd year. We keep coming back because of the play structures for the kids. They would however need the rebuild the dining room.
My wife summed it up nicely as we left for what was our third visit to Proulx Farm, "Not the best farm, but it's the closest." Entry was over $20 for our family for what was is essentially a sleigh ride, seeing a handful of animals, the opportunity to play on a playground, and then buy maple syrup. Nothing all that special, but, it is a close family business at downtown prices.
This is the second year we've gotten their weekly produce box. We get the medium and it's more than enough for two! But make sure you follow them on Facebook and buy the moment the boxes become available- they sell out fast! Everyone here is so lovely, and it's fun to be able to support local businesses.
Huge berry farm with competitive price for self pick up. Friendly young staff.
Really lovely farm and family run too!
Yummy taffy on snow!
It was sugary
A wonderful spot! The breakfast is delicious and generously portioned.
Oct. 15, 2016 When up on a last minute trip. They close at 5pm as stated on their website and as by the young man who greeted us at the entrance. Arrived at 1615. Additionally, was informed that the activities would be a fee to have our daughter play in; playground, fun castle, etc. The charge was $27.50 for two adults. Yet, it's the children who play in these playgrounds not the adults. Seems brutal to pay nearly $30 for 'activities' one could get at any City of Ottawa park. The pumpkin picking was great, free to enter and cheaply price for the selection.
Nice petting zoo, lots of slides for the kids, tractor ride was ok. Admission was acceptable.
Great place for berries and other fresh food.
The crisse doreille. Yummmmmo
The breakfast is terrible. Kitchen is not clean. You are sitted very close to other visitors, so close that their 1 year old kid might be picking fries from your plate. Coffee is terrible, plus the milk for coffee is in those tiny containers sold in stores in bulk and not very good quality. Sausages are also the cheapest sausages which they probably buying from loblaws. The utensils are plastic and of course there is no recycling. Terrible considering farm people are closer to the nature and would try to preserve it better, but definitely not this place. Definitely not what you would expect from breakfast on the farm. Would not recommend this place at all.
Breakfast was good.
(Translated) Beautiful blueberries in abundance. (Original) De beaux bleuets en abondance.
Lots of fun. Make sue to wear your Fitbit, as you'll get your steps in. Probably too much sugar, but I know I walked it off.
They were not open on weekend for visit. But shopping was possible there if just to buy some berries or something. They also have berry picking during weekdays. Its better to call before going I guess!
Great place! Stawberries are ready, and they are so tasty & juicy! A great place for the family????????????????
My wife and I chose Proulx Farm as our venue for our wedding this past June 17, 2017, and we couldn't have been happier! The staff, lead by Melissa, were incredibly helpful and wonderfully friendly throughout the planning of our wedding and on our big day. Melissa and staff were able to meet all of our needs expertly and without any stress, and we felt confident in relying on them to help us throw the biggest and best celebration of our lives. The cost for the venue, and the time we were granted for setup prior to our day was impressively reasonable, especially in comparison to other venues in the Ottawa area. We chose a beautiful outdoor garden setting for our ceremony, which was only one of several potential options. The reception area is large, can accommodate a lot of guests, and remained relatively cool despite the seriously hot summer weather on that day. Following the ceremony our guests enjoyed a wagon ride and many outdoor/lawn games during our cocktail hour. After sunset many guests spent time relaxing in Muskoka chairs around the campfire. The bartender staffed by the farm was super friendly and engaged remarkably well with our many guests. Not to mention Melissa herself, who kept everything relaxed and helped us with all of the small questions and requests we had throughout the day and evening with zero stress or pressure. This rustic, yet elegant venue was the image of perfection for our wedding and we would suggest it as an option for anyone considering wedding venues or for other group events. Sincerely, Drew Corley
Do not bring your kids in diapers!!!! The farm itself was very inviting - the staff were friendly, the animals were well cared for; however the conditions of the baby change room was absolutely revolting not useable. To start off with, it took fighting to be able to squeeze a small opening through the ice build-up. If I had been any larger, I would not have been able to make my way in. As soon as I walked in the baby change room, I was welcomed by the giant puddle I am supposed to change my baby in! If you look up to the ceiling, you'll notice there are cracks allowing the snow in - explaining the giant puddle. This was super disappointing, I do not recommend coming here if you have any children in diapers.
Amazing family excursion at Proulx Farm and their sugar bush. Lots of free parking large trails and structures and petting zoo for the kids. Will be back.
This farm is great! All staff is very helpful and friendly. Have never been to a sugar bush before and I can't wait to go again! This farm looks like it has fun things to do all year round! I'm excited to come back!
Great sugar bush it start feb 28th this year 2018
Great food and really friendly and helpful staff! Can't wait to visit again.
(Translated) Very ordinary as a sugar shack meal. Plate of cardboard, disposable utensils, eat it not hot enough, except the pancakes while eating it is warmed up. Once is enough, we will not go back. (Original) Très ordinaire comme repas de cabane à sucre. Assiette de carton, ustensiles jetables, le manger pas assez chaud, à part les crêpes tout le manger est du réchauffé. Une fois c'est assez, nous n'y retournerons plus.
This place is the kingdom of home made and copyrights infringement. There's a lot of activities and play structure for kids.
Had a great time here!
Unfortunately, it was a bad experience. We were three adults, 1 teenager and three children...going through the line (cafeteria style) to get our food was a disaster. Food "a la carte" is very confusing???????????? There were NO Maple Syrup Pie, No Sugar Pie and only one piece of raspberry pie. The pork rinds and potatoes were not ready with the rest of our meal. Every year we come to the Proulx Sugar Bush, but this is our last if you do not go back to your original way of serving the food. The star I give to the servers for having to put up with all our complaints. Who ever in management that dreamed up this way of serving food, should NOT be able to make these kind of decisions - they are not fit to work in a Sugar Bush:
it was so nice... we did a small tour and got very interesting insights! we had a good time with nice people and good food!
Food was good specially pancakes and syrup but the food is overpriced for the limited choices and considering the dessert is only one small piece of pie OR one toffee on snow. Petting zoo has limited number of animals.
We had a great time at Proulx farms! It wasn't a far drive and the strawberries were a really great price! It wasn't overly busy even for a weekend and after berry picking we went to see the animals. There is a big playground that looked like a lot of fun.
Wasn’t so scary
Lots of berries! Staff are kind: helped a old man with Parkinson's on and off the trailer (old man said it was probably the last time he was going to be able to pick berries). They're bilingual, too. No place to lock up your bike though.
Good food, family friendly
(Translated) The food was not great (sugar shack) and the service not very organized. Many egg shells in scrambled eggs and pancakes. Very rude to eat. (Original) La nourriture était pas terrible (cabane à sucre) et le service pas très organisé. Beaucoup de coquilles d'oeufs dans les oeufs brouillés et dans les pancakes. Très désagréable à manger.
Kid friendly, nice staff
Cute but very small. Also, their website/ticket link wasn’t working, so we showed up with our infant only to be told we couldn’t enter because we hadn’t bought tickets. But again, that wasn’t even possible since the link on their site didn’t work
This is one of my fav sugar bushes. I've been to others that might be "fancier" or "better" but this place just feels like home! Great sleigh rides and the guys in the shack really know there stuff when people ask them questions which is nice to have that interaction (unlike at some of these so called "better" places :P) .......and the breakfast?? Well to me it's perfect for the setting and I love it! My one negative remark would be at Halloween....while granted I'm a huge horror fan and the big haunted house was totally creepy and awesome and one of the best I've been too...I felt that they were over capacity and it was extremely rushed. I understand the importance of turnover and keeping things moving, but in fact it was so rushed that one of the poor zombies (and myself!) bashed heads near a staircase which could have resulted unfortunately, but luckily didn't. Nonetheless, mistakes happen and this is still my fav spot! Just slow down at Halloween!!
Food was good not great. But seriously the amount of plastic waste was incredible. Plastic cutlery, plastic glasses, plastic shot sized glasses for syrup, plastic creamers for coffee and paper cups. Lots of plastic for a family of four. Because of that we won't be back.
We have gone to Proulx Farm for many occasions (strawberry picking, pumpkin patch, Halloween, etc.). It is always well organized and the produce is great
Great family outing with an educational element to it as well
It's toilet facilities are Porta potties.
Call ahead to confirm hours; well setup for social distancing during Berry picking.
What a charming lovely place! Took the kids for the Halloween Theme set up and it was a very wonderful experience. It helps of course with nice weather, and this past weekend it was exactly that. Parking was ok, they were organized fairly well for it. We went slightly on the earlier side (arrived 11:30 or so) and spent many hours enjoying all that was available. They put a lot of effort into it, that's easy to see. There is a lot to do for kids and adults (who can still enjoy the kid within) and we all felt quite satisfied. There are play structures, various mazes, a cute wagon ride with a few stops you can get on and off to enjoy further amenities, pumpkins to pick, haunted houses, a petting zoo, and other activities. The rest room station was actually well done, for what it was, and of course the natural charm of the farmland itself was just Halloween Fall appropriate. You can bring your own picnic or buy some snacks there, there are tables but also plenty of places to sit and take breaks. This is obviously a picture friendly place so be prepared to take out your phone (or other camera) and have a blast. *Spoiler* The main large haunted house proper, can be very dark, so you may wish to have the flashlight ready on your phone or so, if you branch off ahead. We did. It was a fun experience. *Also, the corn maze was very muddy.. be prepared and bring proper footwear! This was a great experience and we will come back. It was about $60 for 2 adults and 2 kids (8 and 9). Cheers
Friendly staff. Strawberries where still small but was a family day.
Very well organized and lovely crops of berries
Excellent sugar bush experience. The staff were all very friendly, the prices are low, and there is quite a bit to do. Syrup is sold in two places, along with a bunch of maple flavoured candy. You get to see how syrup is made from the sap collected. I would definitely like to go here again. Sure, more work could go into the upkeep of the animal petting area, and the baby changing stations, but it's a farm, not a hotel. The breakfast is only about $5.50 a person (which is much lower than any restaurant). I wouldn't say it's the best I've ever eaten, but it's definitely not terrible. You're at a sugar bush, remember, not a 5 star resort.
Super friendly employees. We pick strawberries every year and they are usually excellent. Reasonably priced also.
Made a reservation on the Saturday for Easter Monday. They called twice to confirm the reservation. When we arrived outside of the eating area for our 12:30 seating, I spoke with the guy holding the reservation list to let him know we'd arrived. He had no record of us on the list. When I was understandably confused, he said the manager didn't really keep track of reservations on non-busy days. So, we waited for an extra 15 minutes until a seat opened up. What is the point of taking reservations? When we got inside and went to pay for the buffet, it cost $50 for two adults in addition to the money we had spent to get into the farm. I expect that price from Montebello considering how many items are available in the buffet. When we lined up to get our food, there was no eggs, no sausages and the bacon was so hard it was inedible. The sausage was replenished after we had already finished eating - 30 minutes later. How is that possible on a less busy day? Super disappointing for a ridiculous amount of money. We will not be back and we will not be able to recommend it to others.
Very cute decorations. Good for kids. Recommend
Big space for kids to play..
Great family run business. A real staple here in Cumberland. The U picks are amazing, staff and management are always very kind and great to deal with. Love taking my family and friends to a pancake breakfast and/or berry picking.
No even worth the visit
Kids had a great time! Fun play structures, mazes, tractor pull, and friendly Halloween themes. ????
Maple syrup at its freshest. Great place for an outing for both adults and kids. Has a petting area with barn animals and horse buggy rides around the property. Also has a play park for kids and a souvenir shop. Had a great time at the farm. Cheers
We went there (family of four - children of near 6 and one of 9 months). This was during the thanksgiving weekend, so it was really busy. Organisation wise it is really good, they have made a big effort to make everyone happy. Food available is so so but that is to be expected. Very good barn with long tables available for picknicking. Lots, LOTS of fun for the kids with all sorts of things available for them (bouncy castle, treehouse, animals, haystacks, magician, science, and of course, skelingtons and lest you forget its a farm, farm smells :-). Whether it is as much fun on quieter weekends is moot, you may want to go when there is activity or you have something specific planned (ie apple picking, pumpkin picking of course etc). Quite impressed by decor and amount of effort put into zombie and assorted ghoulish decorations. I would recommend this place, esp for families. Prices are OK - as others have said. They offer stuff at the local farmers' markets in the region, so these are the kind of prices you pay.
I love going to skreamers in the fall there.
great attractions
The food is okay, but not worth what you pay for it. Got a two bite piece of pie for 4 dollars...? I gave it back and asked for my money back. The people who work here are friendly but horribly disorganized.
It's a lovely place in summer it would be great to visit it will have more activities than early spring
Attended a wedding here a couple weeks ago and it was absolutely stunning!! The location had so much to offer and was perfect for the occasion. I will remember this day forever and the location just made it all the better.
Great place to pick your own strawberries, they are very kind.
Great strawberries and fruit here
Let’s start with the website. The price shown on the website is $5.99 plus taxes per person but when you open the webpage to book the tickets the price automatically changes to $10.99 plus taxes per person. Very confusing and deceiving information. I and my friend still decided to book and go since we really wanted to go to a sugar bush for our weekend activity and this one was the closest and open. We checked in and were not guided properly. They just told us to follow the trail from the map. We reach to the sugar bush and had to wait more than 20 mins in line for maple candy on ice which was frustrating. The trails were very short. The map didn’t have the animal farm direction to which the ticket said it’s included. Altogether our expectations were not met! Don’t recommend this sugar bush!
Great place. Been there a couple of times and it was such a pleasure to be in nature picking berries et spending time outdoors.
Our tour guides were very knowledgeable about Maple syrup production and processing. We went here in winter (mid March), because that's the maple syrup flow season. The tour was well organised and we were also able to buy pure maple products afterwards.
Gear towards little ones when it comes to fright
Went here for maple syrup season, and had a decent time. Just wish they had put more effort into the upkeep. Also seemed a bit odd to the see all the Halloween decorations out when it is in the run-up to Easter! The lunch was nice, but it was surprising the maple syrup was very watery - they should have boiled it off some more...
A great pumpkins patch and so much more!
Kids loved it. Loved that they offered a non pork sausage ope
Good old fashioned fun.
Tough pickins.
Tremendous family experience any time of the year. They've got great facilities and whether it's fall, winter, spring or summer they've always got something going on. The sugar shack meal is a little over-priced, but they've got great events in the spring and an awesome pumpkin patch in the fall. Perfect for young kids.
Skreamers was a HUGE dissapointment! Customer service was terrible. You get there, wait in line 30-40 minutes to buy your tickets (20 bucks each), and then they give you 3 tokens. Once you get in, there are 3 lines for 3 different attractions. You have no idea which line is for which attraction. We waited in line about 50 minutes for the haunted house. It lasted about 5 minutes. Then, we got in line for the wagon ride. We waited 50 minutes, and we were still very far and had atleast another 40 minutes to wait. We decided to leave. The site opens at 7 and closes at 10, you wouldn`t even have time to do all 3 attractions. It`s a total waste of time and money!!!! If you have young kids, don`t bring them there! It`s completely disorganized.
Great family fun and the berries are excellent!
H!ad a great time. The hay ride was quaint and immersed oneself into the area. Helps support the farm and animals
So much fun to go walk around and see how it it all works ! Also very scary halloween events !
We chose this place because it was closer than our usual spot, but it was a huge mistake. Everything is overpriced, the restaurant insists on a $2.25 cover charge per person, even if that person isn't eating (or if it's kids, who were planning on sharing a plate). The moment you or one of your children sit down in a folding chair, you owe them $2.25 (incidentally, the day we were there was not busy and there were plenty of empty seats, this policy is marginally more justifiable on a busy weekend). In addition, maple toffee costs $4 per stick and it's another $6.25 per person over 3 to take the wagon from the restaurant to the "petting zoo" and back. Also, the outhouses near the petting zoo have no sinks. If you don't have sanitizer on you, you are out of luck. Finally, the petting zoo is really sad. The animals are in very small spaces. My kids and I left those poor animals feeling very depressed. On a positive note, the pancakes are tasty (if small and expensive, especially taking the "cover charge" into account), and the play structures and giant haystack are fun for the kids. Also, with the exception of one person in the restaurant, everyone working there was extremely friendly and nice. That said, I will not be going back and would definitely not recommend this place. There are too many other excellent places to waste your time at this one.
Good maple syrup
Country side feel and fresh air near Ottawa
I had a Great experience if picking strawberries from the farm and eating it there itself. Kids loved it so much. The taste is so delicious at the farm, you cannot get it any store. Because you pick strawberries yourself and eat here adds a taste itself. See you soon.
Great family bysiness. Worth it with the kids all season.
Good for kids... couple of play structures.... expensive for two adults... tractor ride through the forest was fun..."petting zoo " cool...things to buy... breakfast...
We were happy to find a lot of sweet strawberries and price was great!
It's fine, just keep your self busy picking strawberries
Good breakfast. The pancakes aren't huge so order for if you're hungry. Fun wagon ride and syrup making demonstrations.
Fun place to bring the kids in the fall!
(Translated) Long waiting time outside but it's not a big deal. You sit down, no one explains how it works, the toilets are chemical toilets outside ?? You have no service you have to even get your forks and you are still waiting online to go pay and get your food on the plates, you must even get your bribes and until the end you have to go empty your cabaret when you finish. It's like the mcdonald of sugar shacks. I will not go back here is certain !!! Positive, the staff are very nice, nice atmosphere on the farm but unfortunately it is not the service I am looking for in a sugar shack (Original) Long temps d'attente a l'exterieur mais cest pas bien grave.
Over priced, go further for much better bang for your buck. They're just trying to milk you for all you've got.
Cozy sugar bush location not far from a major mall. There's some live stock, a sugar shack, horse drawn buggy to the taffy snow area. There are are several structures for kids to climb on, washrooms are abundant.
Went over the weekend on Sunday for Strawberry picking, before heading over, I checked their website to see if they were open and to check their hours. The website stated that they have been open since mid-June for Strawberry picking and they close at 5pm on Sundays. We got there at 1:45pm and were told that they are closing early; the woman stated that she had a Father’s day supper to attend. How many business close early because they have a dinner to attend???? Wasn’t happy, if you are a business owner, you need to honor the hours posted on your website, I drove out there for nothing and my kids were really disappointed, not professional, if I had known, I would have chosen another spot and saved myself time.
Fun filled day, wagon rides and lots of activities for kids
Always a very nice place to go with the kids.
Never had the pleasure of picking my own but I do enjoy eating the produce from here!
There's only 3 attractions... wait time was around 30 mins. The attractions are similar but added their own creative twist to it. The actors were very into their characters and made the attractions scary! I really enjoyed how interactive it was. Very spooky! I did have a few issues though. The guide on the wagon ride was aggressive towards younger children and broke character a few times. She told them to "shut up, stop or you'll get kicked off." It seemed a bit odd and not part of the script. Another staff yelled at the younger children saying "Shutup are you dense?" I see this as name calling and shouldn't be tolerated at a family friendly attraction. The guide kept mentioning that we were not allowed to speak on the wagon ride, which is upsetting because people are just having fun. It definitely didn't bring the "fun factor" for that ride. Another issue was with one of the haunted houses. It was around 9pm, so there was no one in line for that attraction. The staff allowed us to still go on and opened the door for us. As we stepped in, another staff looked confused and said "why did you let yourself in" to me and my friends and were shocked with her attitude. We told her the staff did, and that said staff agreed she let us in. It seemed there was a bit of conflict between the coworkers that should have been dealt with in a private setting. Overall, I would recommend if you're looking for something inexpensive and quiet fun. Just remember to have cash since this is a CASH ONLY BUSINESS.
Way to expensive.
Strawberry picking: Fun outdoor activity to do with the family. Large parking lot. Pay for the strawberries by basket (volume) before you enter. They have some specific rules that are posted before you enter (see photo). For example, they require everyone in the group to have a basket (unless you’re 3 or under.) Red spray paint lines on the ground to make 2 m social distancing in the line. They have portapotties beside the mandatory hand washing station. Friendly staff. We’ve been here before and we’d come back again!
A very fair price for a great product. They provide a ride to their fields. All the commodities for a family : games in the sand, monkey bars, etc. Nice small store with selection of jams.
Fresh and delicious
Very friendly staff. We went early spring and couldn't help but notice the abundance of plastic skeletons around the farm left over from Halloween. Coffee is not good.
What a FEELING of ABUNDANCE in the STRAWBERRY FIELD !???????????? What a marvelous experience to share with family and friends ???????????????? The strawberries are so good ???????????? MERCI BEAUCOUP FERME PROULX!!! ????????????
Great family fun
(Translated) It's a great farm, where we have a great time. Outside of the picking, a lot of space for the happiness of the children. It's a good place (Original) C'est une super ferme, où on passe un super bon moment. En dehors de la cueillette, beaucoup d'espace pour le bonheur des enfants. C'est un bon lieu
Kids always have fun
Always good events around the year to get the family busy.. like berry picking, halloween hayrides and pumpkin patch, maplefest, small petting zoo etc. Maybe admission is a little pricey.
Once again Ontario swings and misses on the true sugar bush experience. The Proulx Sugar Bush was an hour wait to get in and when we saw the quality of food for the amount of money they were charging, we quickly left. Unfortunately it was probably the best sugar bush I've been to in Ontario. From now on its only les cabanes a sucre in Quebec. They know how to do it.
Friendly staff, lots of things to do.
Great family place.
Pretty disappointed with this establishment.. Who on earth closes their pick your own strawberries on the weekend? Pick your own strawberries is a staple tradition for almost if not all families.. Some of us are still needed to work throughout the week and may only be available to do these kinds of activities with their family on WEEKENDS!!
Very nice Sugarbush - park on the road near the restaurant for a free visit, otherwise you have to pay for the horse-drawn wagon from the main parking lot. Restaurant has good breakfast food at reasonable prices, but don't expect super high quality. Their maple syrup is delicious. This place gets busy on weekends, especially on Sundays during maple syrup season around noon, so arrive early.
Wagon rides were full so we walked the yellow trail from the front entrance to the back maple shack (15-20 min). We also roasted hotdogs on one of their firepits and learned about their production process. Overall, great spring outing.
Went strawberry picking with the family. The strawberries were sweet and juicy. It made for a great afternoon!
Most frustrating experience ever. My sister was coming to town and the one thing she asked to do was go to a shaver shack... I called on Monday and spoke with someone who recommended I come Tuesday instead of Monday since it would have more activities. We spoke about the sugar shack and I said I'd definitely come the next day. The next day I drove all the way out there wth my infant and sister only to find out they would not be able to accommodate us at all since they started a morning tour with a school and maybe they could do a tour for us at 6:30 at night (it was 11:00). Just awful. I was so frustrated as it's not as though "I just showed up" I had spoken to them on the phone just the day before! I'm a teacher and organize a lot of field trips and have never been met by such an unfriendly, or unapologetic experience. I will not be returning or booking anything here in the future. There are lots of other places, so no need for this level of frustration for what should have been a relaxing family day.
Nice place ! A lot of fun for kids
Nice place ! A lot of fun for kids
Awsome! Very good meal and nice place family-friendly and when you are last minute with no reservation... They manage without problems...
They made every member of our family buy a basket for the blueberry picking even little kids. When we talked with other families there they said they didnt have to. Selective policy it seems, seems like gouging to me.
Their website said berry picking until 8pm so we drove out and people were leaving saying they closed at 6pm. We walked around to find a staff and a lady wearing a pink shirt came out of her house and yelled at us to get out. Asked her what the hours were and she said til 6pm. About a meter away from us there was a sign that said 8pm. We understand that it's based on availability of berries but the lady wAs super rude, we were with a child who was frightened by her. I suggest they are clearer with their hours and maybe put a rope at the gate and signage instead of yelling across the property. Will never return and I think that lady should learn some customer service skills.
Have a great time and people are friendly.
Screamers is awesome
Unfortunately I cannot recommend this place to anyone and will actively be encouraging people to avoid this "sugar bush" whenever I can. First the positives: - It is near the city (no more than 15 minutes from Place Orleans Shopping Center) - There are some fun structures for kids to play on outside That's it. The negatives: - It's a Cash Grab: We paid over $130 for 3 kids and 4 adults. The food was cold and not very good, certainly not $130 worth. - They even charged us $2.50 for an EMPTY PLATE. When I asked for it they said "Did you pay for it?" To which I answered "Well I paid for the food." "Oh no" they said " You have to pay extra for the plate" - The place looked run down and poorly maintained. - They do not have a buffet. They make you stand outside in the cold and pick you food from a giant wall menu outside. The breakfasts are poorly built with you having to spend extra to get basics like bacon and pancakes! - You have to pay for everything separately - Entrance, Food, Taffy on the Snow - The "petting zoo" is abysmal with a very small offering of particularly sad looking animals. - There are Halloween decorations everywhere (at Easter time?) - When I called to ask if we had to make a reservation since it was Easter weekend the message said that we had to leave a message and they would call back within 48hrs. No one ever called back. Personally I love Sugar Bush season, in fact we invited our neighbours on this trip who have recently moved to Canada from overseas to give them a fun Canadian experience and I found myself having to apologize and explain that unfortunately this is not a typical sugar bush exeprience. I assured them that next year we would take them to a real and authentic one even it is further away. Please avoid this place, perhaps if they loose enough business it will force them to make the changes needed to become a real Sugar Bush.
Great yearly easyer visit close to our neighbourhood
We haven't been in a few years but decided we needed to support local and do something fun for the kids this Halloween. The staff were excellent, the process to book tickets on line was easy, and check in was quick. Lots of things for the kids to do, safety was respected, and a special treat at the end. Thank you.
We usually go to a big farm closer home, but this year my sister suggested to take our kids to this one (a 40 minute drive from this side of the city!) and let me tell you it was WORTH it!! The kids had sooo much fun!! This one is kind of a smaller farm, but filled with a bunch of fun activities!! The kids came back home sweaty, with red cheeks and full of anecdotes to retell. Next year we will visit again!!
Lots of areas for kids to play
Great place to go berry picking with young children. Few animals, great play areas
Friendly staff, good hours and loads of beautiful raspberries!
Fun place to visit. Wagon ride, corn maze, bouncy castles, and play structures. The kids had a great morning. Pumpkin prices are really high, especially considering the entrance fees, but that's to be expected I suppose when you buy from the farm.
Food was very good, grandkids loved the wagon ride and the play structures etc.
Went with granddaughters daycare. Fun place to pick strawberries.
The staff is very nice, and the strawberries are delicious! ????
Great family fun
It was a great way to end an Easter Monday weekend by going to Proulx sugar bush. The place is great for kids under 10 as there are lots of play structures they can climb on, swing from, balance on, wall rock climbing, balancing bridge, etc. Staff there are very friendly, has hand sanitizer and wipes. Not sure if its new this year, but they have kits where you/kids can roast your own hot dog for lunch and when you're done, they also have s'mores kits where you can roast your marshmallows and put it between two chocolate cookies (it's not graem crackers). Kids really enjoyed cooking their own marshmallows and hot dog. The weather was really nice, kids enjoyed themselves, would I do it again? You bet.
My family and I love prpulx farm. I went here as a child and I now bring my kids. We just went pumpkins picking here and we loved it.
Staff were great, food was good but over priced.
Very nice local farm with a good variety of fruits and other produce to pick. There are other entertainment options while on site for the kids. The staff have always been super nice during all our visits. There is an admission charge to come on site but it is deducted off of what you're pick/buy. Just make sure to keep your receipt.
Just before Halloween very busy. 1hour wait time
(Translated) I went to buy 2 jars of taffy $ 8.00 and the same day, I opened one. I was surprised to see that the taffy had already turned into sugar What a desappointment! Go instead to Cosco if he still has some, you will not be disappointed as at the Proulx sugar shack Johanne de Orleans (Original) Je suis allée acheter 2 pots de tire $8.00 et la journée même , j'en ai ouvert un . J'étais surprise de voir que la tire était déjà tournée en sucre Quelle déception! Allez plutôt chez Cosco si il en a encore ,vous ne serez pas déçus comme à l"érablière Proulx Johanne de Orleans
Don't ever have your child's birthday party here. The "party coordinator" we had was completely useless. Had no idea how to interact with children or keep them engaged. Also the hot dogs they served the kids were ice cold. Didn't have plates for the cake and I had to rummage through their party bins to find forks so the kids could eat cake. WAY overpriced. I would have been better off just buying each child their own admission and running the party myself, because that's what I had to do anyways. Never having a birthday here again.
(Translated) A good lunch too much to eat (Original) Un bon dejeune trop manger
Great place for younger kids my 5 year old enjoyed himself
Great place to go for fall activities! The pumpkins were a little pricey but we did go on Halloween and it supports local business.
Very nice would have been nice to know ahead of time that tickets needed to be purchased
I have gone to Proulx farm for all there seasons and will keep on returning. This is a great family business and it's well shown. The staff are always welcoming and great at there jobs. The Proulx family are always on site working with there staff and caring for there clients. As a family we have gone many time and our kids always ask to go back it is never a disappointment. Weather it the sugar bush season, halloween, Strawberry ... we love making memories with our family there. I also have brought many school aged groups for March break, pd days, summer camp and we where always welcomed with opened arms and they where always organised for a tour or a free visit the staff where always there to help and guide us trough out our day. Making reservations with Mme. Proulx has always been great, she is really nice to work with, knows well her farm and is able to offer the proper package depending on what your looking for and the age group your bringing. We deffinitly recommend this farm to everyone and we will definitely keep attending the diffrent occasion year after year. They are proud owners of there business and it shows year after year with how they keep improving. Great job Proulx family ????
Just went strawberry picking and satisfied with our experience!
One of my favourite places to go. Sugar bush: Went with my parents in law and my 1 month old. They have animals, a play structure for the kids. Wagon ride. Pancake breakfast. Tour of history and modern sap collection. Wedding: i have been here twice for weddings in the summer. The first timw was for my own wedding. I wouldnt change a thing. They are friendly and nice and super easy going. The second time was my best friends wedding. Once again beautiful and no complaints. Berry's and veggy pick your own: we go wvery summer. Lots of fun! Halloween: 2018 will be our first year going. And we will go every year with our little girl
Beautiful farm with lots if fun activities for kids and few farm animals, very nice Halloween decorations.highly recommended for family with little kids
Kids got so excited to play at the playground but were told they couldn't because they didn't have the staff. Very disappointed kids. Unfriendly staff.
Come here every year for the sugar bush and Halloween. Friendly bilingual staff, good food a big hit with the kids. Only 5 mins away from Orléans. Great place!
We went for breakfast pancakes were great. Wasn't able to do the sugarbush
Best Priced farm. Lots to do for younger kids, they have a tree house , giant slide, multiple cabins to check out, large area with tables to eat, farm animals+barn, playstructures, great hay tower (great for pictures), tractor rides to visit another "village". They also have Skreamers for halloween, amazing strawberry picking and apple picking and im sure way more. Great place to spend the day. Totally recommend ! Be aware it is porty-potties style.
What an excellent experience for our family. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The food was fantastic!!

My Mom, son and I really enjoyed our Sunday there! With covid restrictions we were still able to enjoy the afternoon . Lots of space and slides for the kids????
(Translated) A beautiful sugar shack to understand the process, as well as a breeding farm. A great experience for the whole family. Enjoy the meal with unlimited syrup ???? (Original) Une belle cabane à sucre à comprendre le processus, ainsi qu'une ferme d'élevage. Une belle expérience pour toute la famille. Profitez du repas avec sirop à volonté ????
Good breakfast.
Great place
I did the zombie run here with a group of friends. The farm is well laid out and the actors did really well with the walkthroughs.
Wayy too expensive
A lot of different interesting activities as per the season are organized.
Great place to bring the kids. We have a 5 and 2 year old and they both have a great time.
Went to skreamers. Was skary.
It's a nice place however VERY expensive for what it is. They have a few parks and peddle cars, corn maze, a very small petting zoo and a wagon ride. For 2 adults, a 7 year old and 3 year old it cost us 60$ and that doesn't even include a pumpkin. We spent approximately 2 hours there and the kids were bored by the end because we had done everything in that time frame.
Awesome berries and lots of them. Picked both raspberries and blueberries and they were delicious
Cabane à sucre expérience is overpriced , waits and long, and food is average at best.
Wonderful farm close to Orleans which offers berry picking in summer, pumpkins and scary hayrides in fall and sugar bush in spring time Have attended many events and enjoyed them. I have picked my own berries and they were nice and fairly reasonable - you could also buy prepicked at their shop. Was told by employee once that I had to pay $2 for each of my children to use the swing set/play climber? We were only there for a minute purchasing berries from their shop - and this was an typical backyard residential like structure right outside so naturally my kids ran for it..... when the employee told me I had to PAY to use it I was embarrassed!? I found it so Very odd and took my kids off the climber right away. - so I am dropping a star for awkward penny pinching ways. Otherwise lovely farm.
(Translated) Very good for the family wonderful experience (Original) Tres bien pour la famille expérience magnifique
Fun
Our favorite place to pick berries.
The kids place to be in the Fall!
(Translated) Super nice outing with the daycare (Original) Super belle sortie avec la garderie
Admission prices are too high. They should add more animals and things for kids to do if they're going to charge that much. Also the "decor" along the wagon ride is very outdated and boring. We also waited 30+ minutes for food at the chip stand. Next year we'll be going elsewhere.
This place charges a small entry fee but it's definitely worth it. You get access to the restaurant and r&r area, or you can hop on a horse drawn wagon to the petting zoo and kids parks. They have a huge slide that my daughter loves and they also have, in my opinion, the best syrup this year. 2018
So much to do, especially for kids. Brunch could've been a bit more organized (at least for first timers)
What a wonderful experience! We were there with the work group and the staff were absolutely incredible. The facilities were stunning, and it was very easy to get two!
I really like this place. The personnel is amazing. Nice strawberries. Thank you.
Well organized picking of strawberries, letting people distance naturally. The pre pay for the white fruit baskets was well priced.
Well organized picking of strawberries, letting people distance naturally. The pre pay for the white fruit baskets was well priced.
A little expensive for what you get but the kids always enjoy it.
Fun for kids breakfast not worth the 1 hour wait
We went to this farm during winter time for maple syrup season and again for strawberry picking this year, we love this place. Not only this place is family owned, but has a playground for kids which I loved the most.
Beautiful spot. Strawberry picking
Even with the lockdown I was glad they were able to stay open... Most of their shops and things were closed for safety but small businesses like these REALLY need our support in these times or they won't be around next year... Hope to visit the Sugarbush again soon!
Went for the first time for Maple Fest. Upon entry we were greated by a young gentlemen who explained our options (activities, animal, brunch etc) and the various costs. He offered to show us around if need be. Lots of fun activities for the kids. The giant slide was a huge hit! We took the wagon ride to the sugar shack and the younger gentlemen driving the tractor was extremely polite and always smiling. Enjoyed some delicious food and treats. Customer service is exceptional and it was an overall fantastic experience. We will definitely be visiting again!
Great staff. Beautiful property and amazing playground
We just had our daughters 5th birthday party here at the farm. We have 3 girls and have tried out many different places. Proulx Berry Farm is by far our Favorite party yet. The events team takes care of everything from activities, food, decorations and the cake! Picking the strawberries was a yummy activity and lovely surprise for the kids as they each got to bring home a basket. The process is seamless and the experience is fun! Thank you Proulx Berry Farm for a great day :)
Nice people, delicious strawberries ????
This cool guy named PL works here. He's cool ????
Not too much to see... a little bit boring. Just few things for childreans..
It was fun!
I've been going to Proulx Farm since I was a child. When I was younger I remember always having a great time. Picking berries or pumpkins. But the past five times I've went over the past three years have been horrible. I go because I hope to create fun memories with my family like I did once before. OBVIOUSLY that will not happen. Besides the prices being a little steep, the poor customer service and lack of general knowledge, they are just straight up rude. It's called REPEAT customers people. Treat us right and we'll gladly spend our money your farm.
Release your inner child here, so much fun!
Nothing to do or see
Super fun in the fall kids loved it
Awesome as always. The raspberries bushes are loaded
Big horse ride, good breakfast meals, children playing facilities, farm animals sitting
This review is only for the buffet, I think the syrup is fine. I went for the breakfast buffet for $23 a person and most of the food was overcooked. Even my 8 year old nephew commented that the bacon was "rough" because it was cooked so slowly and for so long that even though it was hard and near black, it had a chew much like tough jerkey. Another note is that the dining room was packed like anchovies in a can even though there was another room with 3 tables (seating 20 people each) completely empty. The costumers would have done a better job seating themselves rather then have the employee's do it.
Good
Only complaint is pricing. Been coming to this place for years and they removed the option to order individual items from the buffet menu and got rid of student discounts. It's 26$ a person before taxes for breakfast food. Total rip off in my opinion.
Was confused by there size charting
This is a fantastic place for families with small children. Everything here is geared for children. They have a pumpkin patch, corn maze, slides, petting farm, jungle gym, tricycle park and a little shop with real maple syrup and baked goods. I found it a but pricey. However, the enjoyment the kids get out of it makes it worth it.
Very disappointed with the farm. Admission is way over priced (cost $28 for myself and one child) and what they were charging for the pumpkins was ridiculous. $7 for a small/medium pumpkin (you can get much larger pumpkins at Farm Boy for $4 and even cheaper at Loblaws or WalMart). The grounds look very dumpy and not well taken care of and the barn is also a mess. I’d rather make the drive to Valleyview Little Animal Farm (amazing play area, cleaner property and only $10 per person), The Log Farm (only $6 per person and also a great/well taken care of location) or Vanderlaand Barnyard Zoo ($5 per person) to name a few. Unless Proulx Farm lowers their prices and cleans up the property I will not be returning.
We go here often. It's a nice a simple outing we enjoy as a family.
Went today, 10/24 and was pretty disappointed. Everything seemed quite run down and there were no signs showing where anything was located. We stumbled upon the animals which are advertised as a petting zoo - was 5 or 6 animals in tiny cages in a dark hallway. The wagon ride was good, but they drop you off and point you to a "pumpkin patch" which is just a field where they dump a bunch of pumpkins, and 90% of them were completely rotten. My son was so excited to pick a pumpkin but he couldn't touch any of them because they were all just pumpkin goo. Also I realise it was a rainy week, but there are little things you could do to make it a better experience. Wipe off the bottom of the slides before the first group of kids get there, put hay along the path in the corn maze and if fhe maze is so muddy that people can't even walk maybe just give people a heads up to the conditions before they get off the tractor so they can make an informed decision. My 2 year old had fun but I won't be taking him back another year and I wouldn't recommend to friends.
