The ice cream tasted great and we expected the very long line to get in but the staff were super grumpy. I can understand if someone is having a bad day but the whole crew were not pleasant to deal with. Great product, but not so great service.

We went there mainly for my toddler who loves seeing farm animals. I was expected more farm animals there. However we had a good time as the views were beautiful from the farm(very peaceful and serene). We could see the milking booth and visited the cows. The ice cream was wonderful. This place used to be very good. We have been going for several years. But the last few years I've gotten a cone the ice cream has been crystalized and I've tried many different kinds hoping it would change. Even the stuff we buy from a store, freshly opened, is crystalized, and it's not cheap. The area is nice to walk around and enjoy with my kids but I don't buy myself an ice cream anymore... Which was really the only point of going there. I guess once you've had ice cream from Tickleberries in OK Falls nothing will ever compare.

They offer a great assortment of icecream but unfortunately the peanut buttercup is severely lacking in flavour. It's basically vanilla with a swirl of fudge; the peanut butter flavour is so light its hardly noticable. Hopefully they can make a more flavourful option for us peanut butter lovers in the future. Nonetheless I still think they deserve a good rating as most of their flavours are bang on.

They make the best ice cream, and they sell local meat, produce, canned goods, pies, homemade banana bread, and much more. Cant say enough great things about this place!

An enjoyable outing for a family with kids. Seeing the cows being milked was neat. They had a slide and swings for the kids plus a few tractors to sit on for photos. The ice cream was decent but wasn't anything to write home about. There weren't as many flavours as I thought there'd be...definitely not fifty. Inside where the ice cream and food was sold there were hundreds of flies. They need to get some flypaper or something. Still, overall it was a fun time and I'd recommend a visit.

There's a small playground with a couple of swings and a slide. The farm itself is beautiful. There's picnic tables if you want to pack a picnic!

My husband and I visited Birchwood Dairy last week and were somewhat disappointed. We entered the store and we were not greeted by one person. The store interior is in need of a facelift and is poorly layed out. The staff barely recognized us at the check-out. I work retail and customer satisfaction and acknowledgment is number one. I definitely think your staff need a serious attitude adjustment. We will be definitely be taking our ice cream business elsewhere.

What a wonderful place to bring your family especially if you have kids. There's a white picket fence with lush green grass and a little swing set and slide for kids. The ice cream is very delicious and they provide generous portions. We had a double scoop in a bowl and it was perfect for sharing. They sell large pints of their Icecream as well as dairy and other consumable products. There's a section where you can go in to see and pet some adult and baby cows. They could do a better job with keeping the floor area where customers walk clean. I slipped and almost fell while holding my baby on some wet cow poop which made its way out of the enclosure. Aside from that this place is wonderful

Business model here is weird. Why can`t we have a flavor at the front display that`s in a bucket in the back freezer? I thought the aim here is to sell dairy products. No, not buying a whole bucket, didn`t bring a cooler. Bucket prices are discounted anyhow, more money is made if ice cream is sold by the scoop, so why are the buckets in the freezer at the back when people ask for it at the front? Why isn`t a popular flavor available, in the first place? Maybe some production re-design is in order, or a business model re-think. Keeping cows and working all day is fine too, no pressure to sell anything. Nice ice cream, of the one that I ended up with.

They have about 20 - 25 icecream flavours. To me it seemed that they just buy icecream buckets from whole seller and sell at their farm. I didn't see any indication that they make icecream inhouse. They have the standard icecream buckets you find at any icecream shop.

The icecream was amazing! It was very rich, creamy and flavourful. You can tell that it was all made in house straight from the farm. The sandwich was mediocre however and I had to ask for my soup multiple times. Other than that, overall a great experience and I would visit if I'm in the area.

This dairy farm has a wonderful petting farm, you are allowed to feed them fresh vegetables. You can purchase veggies to take home, and for feeding the goats and calves. You are also allowed in the barn behind the store. There is both inside and outside seating and swings for children for you to enjoy while having your choice of Birchwood Dairy made ice-cream, many flavours to choose from. They make various cheeses and sell cheese curds, perfect for making poutine.

It's not a big farm and not much to do there. They have some farm tours you can go to and small are if you wanna pet the goats and cows. Don't come here and expect some fancy ice creams. They're not an ice cream parlour. Just some straight dairy farm with a basic marketplace if you wanna take ice cream and dairy products home. They also have deli/bakery where you can order sandwiches, soup, baked goods, etc. Again, don't expect anything fancy here, but just some basic good valued lunch meals. Quite few flavor selections of ice cream on site as well.

The ice cream is great ! The place itself is awesome!! The only thing I didn't like .. was the feel of "hurry up" the second we got to the counter. Yes there was a large line, however since the flavors are NOT for you to see while standing in a lineup you have no idea what they have until your right at the glass. And if u need a minute (especially with a 4yr old) the girls made us feel invaluable and take the next person. There were people in front of us who were also waiting to pay and blocking the windows, so we had no choice but to wait to see the flavors. Talk about a little anxiety. Take it slow for a minute.

I have only been here for the ice cream, Fudgy French Vanilla is my favourite flavour. They do serve meals there, but I have never tried any of them. There is a Petting Zoo, outdoor kids play area, and a little museum that you can check out some old vehicles. Also you can go in and view the cows. Great place to spend some time at with the kids, family, friends and spouse!

They charged me a 30% tip without asking (just let us tap to pay on the machine) when we bought ice cream... We happened to take the receipt or we would never notice that. don’t know if this was just one mistake or they always do things like that... It’s not a big amount, but without asking? NO WAY. Most people don’t take the receipt ...Just pay more attention to how much you pay

Love the ice cream. Only reason I gave 3 stars was I called them before going to the store. I asked if they have green tea ice cream because the last time I visited they runs out of the 1 litre. So the lady I talked said yes they have and if ever they runs out, they can always scoop for us. Nevertheless she didn’t mentioned that it cost $2 more. So obviously when we get there they have to scoop for us. But the disappointing part is that it cost me $2 more and it shrink to 3/4 of the cup as well????

Awful experience!!!! The lady at the front was very rude and disrespectful. It took us a some time to choose what we wanted as it was our first time coming to this place. She was so pushy. There was only one lady behind us, we told her that she could go ahead if she know what she wants. The other lady got even more mad that we didn’t tell her what we wanted right away. I can't believe I've lived in Abby for 9 years and just discovered Birchwood! I was missing my beloved Edaleen since the border closed and decided to finally try this one out. The ice cream was a bit pricier, but still delicious. It's a beautiful location with great views of the mountains and fun farm themed spaces for the kids to play.

This is a large local dairy farm that is open to the public. A welcoming farm for city kids to learn about. "were does milk come from". Everything is touchable, climbable, smellable, and would recommend having the great ice cream first before heading out to the barns. Great ice cream, great old tractors, the truck was very well done, the store sells many dairy products that are all local and sustainable. Black and White, Holstein dairy cows for sure. The service is really friendly and customer oriented. We lucked out and went on a holiday so everyone was out doing other things but it can be a line it the door at times. The outdoor eating area was so quiet and the temp outside was lovely. They will set up for birthday parties as well. I had a grilled ham and cheese with tomato and their red curry soup which was amazing! And their ice cream is to die for! Some amazing flavors, I had the orange chip and chocolate raspberry swirl both of which were sinfully rich both in flavor and texture. Bring your insulin, you're going to need it lol. They are a dairy farm, see ice cream by the gallon, cheese, fudge & yogurt, as well as produce from other local farms. I can't say enough about the wonderful little gem!

Birchwood dairy was as always wonderful, it was pretty busy but not crazy packed. only the end of the line( about three or four people) were out the door, so for one of the first warm Saturday's of the spring/summer season.... it was great service , Swift and friendly as always! I'd just groomed Charlie( my poodle) so he was there with me.(hence the photos of the fancy looking poodle) Ice cream was lovely as always, the service is great, the atmosphere was wonderful, we sat on the grass for a while and enjoying the warm air and the yummy ice cream......Definitely place to hit as often as you want/can in the summer!

Went yesterday and asked for two scoops chocolate + mocha- mint flavour ice cream...the chocolate didn't taste like chocolate...it had no taste...either they gave me a different flavour or that bucket for the chocolate was really bad. I love this place! It is a local farm with a small store. I only come here for the ice cream and I would day it's the best ice cream in the region. Every once in a while I come eat ice cream here with a friend and then i buy an extra pint to bring home to my family. There are also tours you can do on the farm, although I haven't done them yet.

...and the stars are for the ice cream, not the service. It's not always fair to compare but because the option to have better isn't far away: the waffle cone tastes like it came out of a bag. In fact it tastes like a regular cone. Meh. The ice cream itself is really nice but certainly whatever they put into the ice cream for flavoring each ice cream is not made fresh on site. Now. On to the service. It was fine until I was waiting to pay and the short girl, who hadn't noticed me standing there waiting right next to the woman paying, started helping a looong line of men that were waiting after me. So I got her attention, which the first guy didn't mind, but she took exception to it: I paid, the first guy paid and left, and then she got me my food. I could see her rolling her eyes and looking miserable. That is what I call a bad attitude. I don't care. I got my ice cream and the pepperoni cheese stick for the dog (who wouldn't eat it because it was stale) and she can think about the impression she leaves on customers.

I had purchased a tub of the salted caramel ice cream and was very disappointed with the lack of salted caramel in the tub. The ice cream tasted more like vanilla then anything I swear the salt was forgotten and the caramel wasn't discovered until we reached half way through the tub. Overall very dissapointing. Ps. The bubble gum ice cream has no actual bubble gum in it and the flavour is lacking.

Went on Monday and I was charged a 30% tip without being asked as the employee told me to tap my card. When I realized what happened I asked the employee if they automatically include a tip to which they said ‘no’. When I asked how the tip was charged the employee said they aren’t sure and walked away from me without offering a solution. It’s not a significant amount of money but it’s the fact I wasn’t asked to tip, and 30% for scooping ice cream is ridiculous.

Great ice cream, also enjoyed a soup and sandwich. But there was something off with the staff, they seemed very unhappy to be there, especially the brunette woman, the 2 younger lighthaired girls were a bit more friendly. I witnessed another couple call her out for her unfriendliness but she just continued to shout, Have a good day!! She did not apologize or address their concern at all, in fact only got ruder. I was shocked. I also went into the cow barn, the cows seemed very timid and scared to see humans. They ran for their lives the opposite way of the gate at the smallest noise, it definitely made us wonder. They were fed of course, but locked in there all day, so I felt really bad for them, something was off there too. Praying they are not mistreated or aware that they are being slaughtered (the boys). Might visit again in the future.

I don't know if we just went on a bad day as the customer service crews are not really giving a good service. We went here last sunday and we drove for an hour just to buy their ice cream. The ice cream was really good no argument with that it's just the service that was making me and my family not to comeback here anymore. I was the only one standing in front of the counter and the 2 girls does not even want to have any eye contact with me I guess to avoid being the one to do the work. They are three girls. Thankfully one of the three girls were more accommodating that the other two. I also asked a question about the big bucket of ice cream as I will buy one and I had to say hello 2 times to the other girl and did not even face or looked at me while answering my question. It was like they are trying to avoid you. I was expecting great service as they are part of the circle farm tour. Too bad. Need to look for another dairy farm with great ice cream selections.

Been to a lot of places around Fraser valley and Vancouver and places around Alberta and I gotta say nothing beats the surrounding and calmness and amazing ice cream of this place. My friend and I were both significantly overcharged for multiple items of food purchased. The 1L cream was mislabeled as 2L. Not sure why the other items were mis-charged. All the cheese was warm with mold in one. Ice-cream was good though.

Birchwood is open for in store shopping. Masks are mandatory. This farm market has some of the best dairy products available anywhere. Their ice cream is world famous! Their milk is better than anything from the big brand stores. I buy 3 gallons a week just to supply my teenager with her favourite drink. They sell yogurt, veggies, Watkins products and the best fudge since your mother made it when you were young. I highly recommend this farm market. And the staff are awesome. Ask for a double scoop ice cream in a waffle cone... there's at least 30 or 40 flavours to choose from. Birchwood ice cream should be on your bucket list! Go there..try it! And there's a petting zoo and play ground in the summer. Bring the kids!

Birchwood Dairy is a farm in the Fraser Valley that is known for its ice cream and has a small farmgate grocery. PROs: 1) scenic prairie setting. 2) many unique ice cream flavors that aren't available at other Fraser Valley stops (M&M, Turtle Treat, Maple Walnut, Fudge Brownie, Coffee Crunch etc). 3) it's a hands-on farm that offers guided or self-guided tours. CONs: 1) if you prefer ice cream with simple ingredients, it isn't the best for that. 2) unsanitary eating spaces. While the ice cream was good for take out, I wasn't comfortable eating on-site. Table surfaces and floors weren't in sanitary condition when we visited in August. There was decaying food debris on the floor in all the eating areas, as if the place had not been properly cleaned in several days. You could smell the indoor garbage bin, which was overflowing. The ice cream counter was out of a couple basic flavors - like chocolate - so I recommend buying a tub of Birchwood ice cream and eating at home.

If you are in the mood for something delicious, look no further. There ice cream is muy bueno! So many flavors to choose from. Don't be scared of the different flavors, try them all. You will not be disappointed. A wonderful environment. There are goats and cows, even swings for the children. Come spend 5 minutes or 5 hours.

Love this place. Easy pull in, park, order from outside. Tractor the kids can explore while waiting, swing/slide, goats to view. Lots of flavours of ice cream available. My 3 family members all loved their ice cream. I'm dairy intolerant, so if Birchwood had just one dairy free option, I would have bought one too.

This Saturday, we had a Birthday celebration of our son at the Birchwood Dairy. It was a wonderful experience. The booking was very easy. The place for the celebration was nicely decorated and it felt quite private. It was raining that day and we were worried that it could be cold for the kids. However, the place has good heaters, so it was nice and warm. The celebration started with a tour around the farm where kids and parents could see various farm machinery, visit the cow barn and pet calves. It was followed by the actual celebration with great food served by the farm (drinks, hotdogs and very fresh fruit and veggy platters which are worth adding to the order). At the end, kids were invited to the store to choose their ice cream cones (included in the package) out of various delicious flavours. The booking was for 2 hours. However, we stayed longer than that, and nobody gave us trouble for overstaying. Overall, it was a wonderful experience. Thank you, Birchwood Dairy!
